Isabela passed out during an intensive playtest of my new lot. She still managed to save the dirty plate from her inventory before falling. She is a stay-at-home mom and lives in a rented wagon with her husbad and little daughter. They're low income family, they don't have much so I suppose not breaking the plate was very thoughtful last action she took. BTW, see how her legs are glitching in a standard TS4 animation/pose in that 10 years old, billions dollar studio game that costs 4-digit price with all nearly 100 paid DLCs? Stunning.

"OMA, kill meeeee" Ellie, aka Wrath complained as she allowed her head to 'thunk' on the cafeteria table in the Watchtower she phased into in order to sit in next to a boy dressed in red, yellow, and green.

"Aren't you already halfway there?" Came Robin's response as he took a drink of his water, eyeing his teammate with a raised eyebrow, though it was difficult to tell with his mask in place.

"OMA?" Asked Superboy on the other side of the boy.

"Shush you." She said towards Robin before answering Superboy "Oh my Ancients, it's like OMG but like for us ghosties."

"Tt" "Oh!" Came both their responses.

"So..." began Superboy after a few minutes of silence between them as he looked at Ellie like a confused puppy "Why?"

Ellie groaned and just stayed slumped on the table as she said "Da's dumb Observants council is hosting another dumb ball to try to get him or me hitched again, and like always I'm forced to attend because I'm Da's heir. We both hate it with a passion, most are just stuck up, power hungry, social climbers trying to get into our pants for the royal titles... Espcially if they become our Forevermores."

"Tt, why not just get rid of them? Or simply have your Father dismiss the ball." Robin said, his eye twitching in annoyance just at the thought of it. A ball sounded even more annoying than the gala parties he is made to go to.

"Sounds stressful... Also Forevermores?" Superboy asked, he was always curious of Ellie and her ghost culture but never knew what could be asked or not, he had been warned to never ask how a ghost died after all and that question is normally asked in every ghost hunter video on the internet.

"Forevermores is our term for the ONE. The one and only we will ever be with. Till our final end takes us we are always to be with them only. We are core creatures and bonding on that level is like sacred, we don't rush into bonding like that though. But everyone in the Realms hopes to be either become mine or Da's. And the ball is their best chance at meeting us on neutral grounds." Ellie explained as best as she could for Jon, it was hard trying to explain the type of level a Forevermore was "And to answer you Robin, Da can't. The Observants, despite how annoying they can get with their dumb demands, are part of the system council for the Realms, they're sadly needed to keep things in check hence their name. Da and his friends are still trying to find a loophole to get rid of them though. They were only created when they put Tyrant King to sleep and they still sadly have some backings from other powerful ghosts in the Realms, even an Ancient or two and in order to fully dismiss them we need all Ancients on board. And the ball keeps a lot of ghosts, especially the more powerful ones, errr I guess happy? Most just use it to gossip on neutral grounds, others just like to dance, network, or other junk like that. Basically, when it's not about them trying to get mine or Da's hand in ghost marriage, it's fun so Da can't dismiss it, it'll ruffle to many feathers."

"Wow..." "Tt." Were the response from her teammates.

"Yeah. Da really isn't happy because someone suggested inviting powerful people from a few Mortal Realms this time. Somehow it got approved. So... here." She said as she reached into her own chest, phasing her hand in, and pulled out two green envelopes and placed them on the table in front of them. Both boys stared in surprise to see their names written in dark purple ink and the stylized DP on it.

"CW let me invite you guys personally. Everyone else should be getting theirs in about a few minutes complete with a blaze of green fire and spooky vibes." Ellie said with a strained smile, both happy to invite them but also dreading the questions she'll no doubt have to answer once the invites were sent.

Posting this here because I saw an obnoxious take on Threads just now, and I don’t have the character allowance needed to vent my annoyance over there. Plus, I hate that app.

Anyway, the offensive (to me) take I saw was one I see all too often, yet this person ventured forth their opinion like they were bravely standing up for the little guy. Please. The internet is crawling with AAs who spout the same crap 25/8.

The opinion:

“I have nothing against Jared…he’s a great Sam…but Jensen is just PERFECTION as Dean. Like. Besides being a fucking DREAMBOAT, he’s hysterical with his words and expressions.“

My Rebuttal:

I like Jensen as an actor, and I like Dean. I do. I also agree that Jensen is a good actor and Dean is a great character … when he isn’t pissing me off (or becoming a caricature in later seasons). I mean, he’s made me cry a good few times when watching the show, particularly when he’s just lost Sam. But, there are some parts of the ststement that just really bug me, especially because I’ve seen so many people make statements like this one.

First, Jared is good as Sam, But Jensen is PERFECTION as Dean. My issue with this is, how do you even quantify who is better at playing a chracter when the two characters are so different from each other that they are near opposites? Jensen is very good at playing Dean. He makes him feel real, and you can feel the connection he has with his brother and other family, which also adds to how empathetic and relatable he feels (at times). However, Jensen cannot forge the Sam and Dean connection alone. Jared makes up the other half of their duo. And sure, people can not like Sam or claim they don’t care for the brothers' dynamic, but 75% (or more) of who Dean is … is his love for and relationship with Sam. People can love to see Dean with Castiel or Charlie or whoever, and even say they like Dean better with them than Sam 🙄 but the only person he was playing off of when we first get to know Dean (and in my opinion the superior version of Dean) is Sam (Jared). If Jared wasn’t playing Sam very well, Jensen could emote all he wanted, but there would still be a disconnect there. I’m not saying Jensen wouldn’t still be charismatic or interesting on his own, but I will say that the Dean people love for how much he cares for his family and how real it feels did require Jared in particular. When Kripke talks about “lightening in a bottle” he wasn’t only talking about Jensen.

Anyway, let’s move on to the reasons for Jensen’s “perfection”:

1. Dreamboat - Okay, shallow, but let’s address this one first. Is this person claiming Jensen is perfect as Dean … because he’s hot? She knows Jensen isn’t actively choosing to be hot, right? Right? This isn’t a skill or talent, it’s being blessed with good genetics. While I do agree that Jensen is very attractive, i think Jared is too. I’d even say for a good few years there Jared put more effort into being physically fit, so does that make him more perfect at playing Sam … because he achieved pleasing physique? At least that wasn’t only genetics but work, too. This particular reason to love Jensen’s portrayal of Dean is shallow as hell, so I’m moving on.

2. Hysterical with his words and expressions - I am not going to argue against Jensen being “hysterical” because 1) what we all find funny is subjective, and 2) I also think he’s funny. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Jensen is good at humour and comic timing, and I’m certainly not going to try take that away from him. He’s a scene steeler. But, and I can’t believe I have to say this, he also plays a funny character. Dean is funny, or cheeky anyway. Sam is not (usually). So, why is Jensen being good at being funny when he’s playing a funny character more “perfect” than Jared who shows off his own comedic skills much less often because he’s playing a serious character? They are both doing what they are supposed to do for their respective characters. I also have to add that a good portion of the time, Dean’s humour is enhanced by Sam’s deadpan reaction. This is also good comic timing, but given who Sam is, it would be weird if Jared was constantly leaning into humor. As For Jensen’s “words” bring hysterical … does this person not realize that 90% of the time Jensen is saying the words written for him? Of course the inflection is his, and he’s been known to add lib, but the writers are more responsible for Dean’s words than Jensen. Conversely, Jared can’t use words to enhance his chrdcter that his character isn’t given. In fact, the fact that so many writers suck at writing Sam dialogue, forced Jared to crest a whole lexicon on physicality for Sam that makes him feel real and nuanced into the (abysmal) later seasons. Finally, with the “expressions," again I agree, Jensen uses his facial expressions very effectively at times (but I also think he over does it at other times). However, I also think Jared uses his expressions very effectively, broken puppydog eyes, anyone? Still, I also think Jared goes a little over the top at times in his expressions. Neither, despite what this person claimed, are perfect.

Anyway, my whole point with this (perhaps nit-picky) rant is NOT that I fault people for preferring Dean or liking Jensen’s acting style better, my annoyance comes in when they claim he’s perfect because he’s just no. No one is. And saying that Jensen plays Dean better than Jared plays Sam when they aren’t even comparable because of how different they are is just ignorant. It’s not a competition, yet some Dean fans so often need to make it one.

My honest opinion about JA and JP’s acting is that I think Jensen excels at drawing out empathy from the audience, making (many of) them feel sad when he’s sad, but I find Jared stronger when it comes to making different characters (or versions of his character) feel different. See Meg!Sam and Soulless!Sam in particular. So yeah, my issue is not with people liking a character or actor more, it’s with them thinking thst they are leagues apart when they are both, in fact C tier actors who have different strengths. And this additional and related notion that SPN would have been fine with just Jensen, or that just anyone could have played Sam and it wouldn’t have mattered is just … wrong.

Anyway, if you’re of the opinion that BOTH brothers and BOTH actors were crucial to the show, I’d love to chat about it with you, so feel free to hit up my asks or messsges. I love talking about the show and don’t get to do it enough.

If you think one actor was carrying the show on his shoulders (either one honestly, but we know who this is said of more often and by whom) … we just aren’t going to find common ground. So to those SPN fans …

A little while ago you said that you have nuanced feelings on Clem x Louis, and I think that’s how I’d describe my opinion on the ship as well. I was just wondering, what makes you feel that way? Personally, I think they’re romance scenes are cute and sweet, but the whole situation with Marlon makes me unable to see them as anything other than friends. I think they both mean a lot to each other, but the idea that they’d want to date so soon after that whole ordeal’s a bit of a stretch to me.

putting this under a read more so if anyone even Thinks they might get upset about mild louis opinions they can move on and stay happy. seriously people take this stuff too seriously sometimes and i dont want to stir anyone up but also im allowed to have my own opinions OKAY. none of this means i dont like him or them OKAY??

the stuff with marlon and the vote is Definitely the biggest thing that influences my opinion about their romance. i always forget just how Cruel he is in EP2 😭 like im on your side dude what aj did was wrong can we just talk about this 😭 but he votes to kick them out. like his reaction about marlon doesnt bother me, its his insistence on kicking them out that does 😔 my clem will always forgive him for it, i believe him when he says he regrets it, but its gonna take some time for trust to build again. for both of them

having only one scene between his apology and the lock in was just not gonna happen for my clem. she was mad at him for it. aj almost died because of it. she might be doing better now but she still has trust issues and her trust was broken just as much as his was. he was fine with never seeing her again, sending her and aj out to their deaths because he struggled to accept his confused feelings about marlon. that pissed my clem off shdfksd she is barely keeping this child alive let alone herself. her face when ajs kicking the wall bro she was like "its so fucking over" 😭 cmon bro look at her shes dead inside have some compassion. and he still hits her with the "i dont know [if i want you to stay]" even after aj gets shot like cmon man...... Cmon.........

and while shes waiting for louis to finally be ready to talk about what happened with marlon (which my clem apologizes for in the dorm, she does genuinely feel bad about it), her and violet are only growing closer, focusing on preparing the school together for the bigger problem. clem knowing vi has her back is a huge source of relief in everything thats going on, and that means a Lot for my clem, who appreciates the idea of having a partner she can rely on. my clem is already sure of her feelings for vi by the time louis apologizes. but she appreciates his apology, and is looking forward to being friends again, because she did genuinely appreciate his friendship at the beginning. but her heart was really truly Broken about everything with marlon and the vote and i think thats gonna take more time to heal. depending on player choice some clems might not even forgive him (some others might say he was right and that clem didnt stop it but... i do not agree with that.. like how could she have... aasim calls mitch a hypocrite for saying the same thing)

the other less important thing is just his general blasé attitude. my clem takes things seriously, but that doesnt mean she doesnt know how to have fun. she Wants to. she just Cant. she has a child to take care of first, and she cares about the survival of the group. its why my clem is looking for someone she knows she can rely on. she never wanted any of this, and she just wants a little support, someone to help take the weight off so she CAN relax. shes so tired 😭. playing with louis while aasim hunts by himself made me feel Dirty 💀 (i literally couldnt do it the first time i felt so bad AASIM WAIT UP). and while i can understand and appreciate his "there might not be a tomorrow so enjoy today" outlook, it cant come at the expense of the group. louis i feel eventually learns this, finding a balance between the two, and Becomes someone clem can rely on. but his change doesnt begin until like.. after the raiders take everyone (because we have to get through the marlon stuff first). and if you save vi, you dont get to see any of it 😔

the thing about these two problems is that, if you were to take them out of this setting and throw them in like, a modern au, suddenly these are not issues anymore. no more life or death. the stakes are a lot lower. so i can see them dating in that scenario and having fun together. they do have cute moments!! but also due to less stakes, theres less to motivate louis to change. and i think they would fundamentally just not click on their worldviews. clem while she can have fun, ultimately takes things seriously, and louis doesnt. that doesnt mean they dont care about each other, and clem definitely appreciates his energy, but its why i see them still ending up as friends instead of romantic partners (esp if vi is around IM SORRY 😭 they just Click too well for me 😔 this is why my messy au exists 💀)

i also understand this is mostly personal preference and some people might like them for these reasons 😭 but the dynamic that they have i prefer as friends personally. theyre supportive of each other and deeply care about each other, just not romantically imo. especially not after the stuff with marlon. and thats ok!!!! i see it a lot like louis' relationship with vi. not romantic. but they Love each other regardless. honestly the reason why i like clem vi and louis as a trio so much is that clem slots between them really well. louis who doesnt take anything seriously, and vi who takes things Too seriously. clem exists between them. knowing having fun is important but also understanding the weight of responsibility. she helps louis become more responsible, and she helps vi chill the fuck out. she brings balance :)

i will say tho louis' "nothing wrong with short and sweet, right?" line was cute he got me there

Desert Bloom Swimming Pool - first look

My conception from yesterday to build an artificial beach in the Oasis Springs on the Desert Bloom lot evolved slightly.

First of alI, I guess technically without mods you simply can't make this lot a beach. Second of all - terrain manipulation on the lot make it appear recolored in the world map view, and it triggers me.

I was struggling for a while to decide whether I want it to be vacation rental or swimming pool to finally end up with a SPA lot type.

I find this lot type very versatile in terms of how you can use it. I still think of this lot as a public swimming pool, but the SPA lot allows to spawn a mixologist NPC automatically to work at the bar. Let's be true, water park without a functioning bar is boring. Couple yoga mats, meditation stools and massage beds fix the lot requirements and it's a nice addition for those who want more variety of activities when visiting the community lots. I'm not sure if it will spawn kids/toddlers/teens to use the waterpark though. Gotta playtest it. Trying to make it look acceptable gave me sh*tloads of frustration. EA items for the water fun are such an utter ugly BS.

Random TS4 annoyance for today is why the hell can't the NPC employees for community items like bars get automatically spawned on ANY kind of community lot? It is so damn obvious functionality...

Trying to make that game playable with mods takes me more time than actual gameplay. Maybe that's why my main menu screen still looks like this. I'm not gonna update the game until I hear that main issues are fixed. Screw the new BG content, really, I'm old and patient.

I don't understand why any company that has purchased anything from D-Wave in the past has ever been able to get quantum-computing funding ever again. I don't know anyone serious* who looked at their very first press release, like over 15 years ago at this point--back when I was still a student--who didn't immediately go "that's a scam." (Admittedly, my advisor, who can be a bit too nice and too passivesometimes, said something more like it looks like a scam but let it play out. But that was in response to a bunch of us students asking him if it was as much of a scam as it sounded like.) And since then they've only produced more of the same; their basic claims have not changed. I think there should at least be a 10-year moratorium on funding to anyone who was dumb enough to buy their product, enough time for significant employee turnover.
