One of the things I absolutely ADORE about the Owl House is that it's about every type of love.

Like, romantic love. Yes, we love that. It's gorgeous. Perfect. But also,

Platonic love. I adore it. It's beautiful. I'd kill and die for it. And also,

Found family. I'm gonna cry. It's beautiful. And also,

Blood family. People who have been there all your life. It's not great for everyone, but for some it's beautiful.

My point is that the Owl House demonstrates that love is more than just romantic love. The whole thing is based around love. Luz's love for her mom. Eda and King's love for Luz. The way Willow, Gus, and Hunter love each other. It's so beautiful to see these characters so shamelessly love each other.

BISEXUAL REP IN TOH

One thing I really appreciate about this show is the bisexual representation. It shows us how bisexuality can appear differently depending on the relationships.

The three canonically bi characters are Luz, Hunter, and Eda.

Luz is dating Amity, so her relationship is lesbian passing

Hunter is dating Willow, so his relationship is straight passing

Eda is dating Raine, who is enby, so the relationship could be considered either lesbian or straight passing or neither

Despite the fact that these relationships look so different, it doesn’t change the fact that Luz, Hunter, and Eda are bi. Bisexuality is not a one sized fits all, and as a bi person, I’ve never been so satisfied with this kind of bisexual representation before.

Is how Luz, King, and Eda were having a lot of fun during the fight

And Hunter carves palisman and they have a school for wild magic and luz and amity are in love and Raine and Eda are married and king has magic now and he’s gotten so big and and and

(headdresses used to be a part of the school uniform at hexside, but basically no one wore them because, if youve ever met a kid who has to wear a school uniform, they like to wear as little of the uniform as possible. raine wore theirs because they theorized that the more nerdy and prudish they looked, the more they could get away with. this remains both their strategy in political espionage and seducing their wife)

Have you ever realised how terra tilts raine's chin up to make them look at her in thems the breaks kids

No I haven't, surprisingly.

In EVERY scene with Raine she's in, Terra's ALWAYS trying to put her hands on them in some way, even when they were kid.

Meanwhile compare to when EDA tilts Raine's head up to look at her

Raine's love language is touch. They're always putting their hands on Eda (again even as kid, THEY were the one to hold out their hand for Eda to hold). And when asked, their voice actor said Raine's love language is touch.

So imagine how uncomfortable they were at having to be constantly touched by Terra. Vs how comforted they were at finally being touched by Eda again.
