Draco x Potter! Reader Platonic (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2
"No (Y/n) and I'm not going to." my brother harry continued walking, not sparing me a glance.
"Please harry, I don't want to stay with Draco again." I grabbed the sleeve of his robe, causing him to turn and look at me with an annoyed glare.
"I don't care. we aren't 9 anymore, you're a Slytherin so I can't be around you (Y/N)."
"Harry-"
"Leave me alone!" he shouted then walked away. tears pricked my eyes, I looked to the ground not forgetting the look on his face. the sound of disgust when he said 'Slytherin' or the glare of annoyance when he looked at me.
he was right though. we aren't what we used to be before Hogwarts.  we aren't as close as we used to be. before we would talk for hours and we knew everything about each other. but now when I look at him all I see is the shell of the twin I used to have.
I treaded back to the common room that I now had to call home.
"So what is it, (Y/N)? are you going to be staying with me this summer again?" I looked up to see Draco looking up from the potions book he was reading.
"Yup." I popped the 'p' and made my way over to the sofa, plopping down next to him. "Harry's mad at me though." my voice somewhat quiet.
"Sorry to hear that, but it'll be okay I promise that this summer will be the best you ever had." he wrapped an arm around me. Draco was never one to show much emotion around others but I guess after having to spend 4, now 5, summers with me I guess he opened up to me a bit more. we are inseparable.
~~~~~~~~~~~
we all border the train, I got into the same compartment as Draco and some of his friends. I read the whole time, not wanting to talk to the others as we didn't get along all that much. I felt the train stop slowly. the others got up and walked out into the sea of hundreds of children. I got up, grabbing my bag after stuffing my book in it. I joined Draco at the door, walking out with him too. I saw harry walking up to Ms. Weasly with a smile on his face.
I felt unimportant watching him. it hurt to see others make harry happy. the type of happy only I could make him. it pained me to watch as he smiled when I had to sit and watch. I felt a pang as he made friends left and right while others were scared to talk to me. the girl who was misplaced.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by the feeling of Draco grabbing my hand, still looking and walking forwards. a slight smile appeared on my face as I knew there wasn't use in complaining because Draco was all I needed.
he kept his promise though. it was the best summer I ever had with him. his parents were gone the whole time (Well not gone but they mostly stayed on the top floor only coming down for food), so it was mostly spent doing dumb things in the house. we even went out to the lake nearby.
I slept in Malfoys room most of the time, rarely did I ever go into my room. I didn't want to be alone. Draco and I would watch movies in his room too, though most of the time we didn't pay attention to it. I just threw popcorn at him while he tried, sometimes succeeding, to start a tickle war. I only slept in the same bed as him four times because of nightmares, but the rest of the time was spent on the sofa.
Draco and I were watching a dumb show on the telly, me making jokes about the bad production and him telling me to shut up and that he was trying to pay attention. a soft knock was heard coming from the other side of the door. we both exchanged glances, not knowing how to go about the situation because we were alone this whole time.
"Draco?" we both looked to the door to see it cracked open. "Draco you two aren't doing anything inappropriate right?" we heard his mom say. I stifled a laugh, smiling widely from the thought.
"No! of course not!" he shot up from his spot on the sofa he didn't want to leave 5 minutes ago.
"What? am I not good enough for you?" I faked to be offended.
"It's not that, it-its just, oh you know what I mean potter!" he shouted at me playfully, smacking the back of my head while he walked to his mom in the door. "What is it you need?" he asked carefully.
"Your father and I were wondering if you and (Y/N) would like to join us upstairs, for a meeting."
"Mother I'm not sure if (Y/N) would be interested in something like that." I looked over to him, finally standing up from my spot and walking towards him.
"They insist." this time her voice changed to a more persistent one.
"Well if they insist," I said bubbly hopping on Draco's back, wrapping my arms around his shoulders. he hooked his arms under my knees, carrying me out of the room.
"you two are so cute together." I rested my chin on his head while he walked. I closed my eyes. reflecting on the past summer, august was going by so fast so far even though it was only the 3rd day. School was going to start soon and I would have as many memories to spend with Draco as much anymore.
I hear a door closing, the sound pulls me out of my thoughts. I open my eyes to see a bunch of people at the table. at the head though was a face embedded in my memories, a person I only heard of and the one that killed my parents in front of my brother and me.
Draco dropped me to the ground gently, while my eyes widened to the sight. I felt my hands shake, my back curl up to make myself as small as possible, and grabbing Draco's white button-up.
"Draco?" I whimpered, hiding my face in his shirt. he turned around and hugged me with one arm.
"It's ok." he whispered in my ear, kissing the top of my head. "you promised you wouldn't drag me into your mess."
"Yes, but once our lord heard about a potter staying here he had insisted on meeting her." I heard footsteps coming toward Draco and me, so I held on tighter in fear it was him. "Draco step back." I heard Lucius speak again. I felt hands on my shoulder, pushing me away and ripping my grip from him while taking a few steps back. I looked up at him, tears in my eyes as I stood there, paralyzed with fear. the kids at school were wrong. I couldn't possibly be a Gryffindor, I'm scared shitless right now.
"I thought you would have been stronger, less vulnerable. less emotional." I felt someone get closer to me. "you're nothing like your parents." I felt a sharp thin object press against my back.
"Don't touch her." I heard Draco, but he was quickly told to shut up by his father.
"You're nothing like your bother are you?" I felt the object move from my shoulder blade to my neck, then under my chin. I identified the object as a wand, the wand pushed my chin up to look at him. "Answer me when I ask you a question," he says sternly. I shook my head, too scared to use my words because of the lump in my throat. he grabs my face with a tough grip, pulling my face closer to his. "Your words you idiot!"
"No!" I whimpered out, tears streaming down my face. he let go roughly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I looked over at Draco, we were now at Borgin and Burks, I saw the pain and sadness, and regret in his eyes.
"(Y/N)?" I looked over at Lucius, "You're choice?"
I thought about it, even though I didn't really have to. just one look at Draco and I knew my decision. yes. of course, it was. Draco was sad that he had no choice in getting the mark or not, and there was no way in hell I was going to let him go through that alone. at least when we get put in Azkaban we go together.
"Yes." I walked up to Draco in the room, around the cauldron. I grabbed his hand and held out my arm along with him.

a simple favour - part one
Tumblr media
fred weasley x fem!reader
summary: it was all in her best interests, fred never meant to catch feelings for her. it had started as a simple favour.
words: 3,371
warnings: swearing , tw: stalking / stalker , smut in later parts (18+)
find part two here
It had started off out of the blue one morning, a letter waiting for me in the great hall when I came down for breakfast. I had been fixing my hair when multiple heads turned towards me, I frowned as I sat down.
“What?”
Hermione held a letter in her hand, passing it over to me with a weirded out look on her face. I shrugged, recognising my name on the front but not the hand it was written in.
I laughed to myself as my eyes scanned over each carefully thought out word, describing my appearance and how ‘entrancing’ I was. Whoever had intended this letter for me was confessing their feelings in an oddly poetic and creepy way, my only conclusion being that it had to be one of the others playing a trick on me.
“Very funny guys, which one of you wrote this? I can’t recognise the writing.” I threw the parchment down carelessly, letting expectant eyes read over it as Ron grabbed it for himself.
“Doesn’t it say?” Hermione asked me, trying to read it over Harry’s head. “It was already here when we came down.”
“Yeah… this isn’t any of us.” Ron scoffed.
“I think you have a secret admirer y/n.” Harry added, handing it back to me.
I squinted, drinking some of my coffee and eyeing up their faces, expecting one of them to snap and laugh. But all I got was stone cold confusion from each of them. If only the letters had stopped there, then I may not have minded. Little did I know, it would only get worse.
-
The letters came every single day, sometimes multiple times. What once was harmless words of my beauty and desire turned sinister, now whoever was writing also seemed to know my whereabouts every day. He would depict times when I thought I had been alone, or claim he’d watched me go for my morning shower. My every move was documented, all with a perfect description of what I had been wearing even days after it had happened. The most disgusting part was the anonymity, the knowledge that this person was getting away with being a massive pervert and torturing me with it day in and day out. Whoever was obsessed with me was keeping it a secret and successfully stalking me from the sidelines.
The day that I found flowers on my bed I screamed like I’d been stabbed, making Ron and Harry quickly race up to the dorm thinking that I’d been attacked. Both of them had cringed at ‘gift’ with the realisation that he’d been in my room, sat on my bed and possibly done worse.
“Make sure nothing’s been taken.” Ron had said grimly, making me shudder at the fear that they could have something of mine.
“Jesus what a creep.” I’d whispered, stomping over to the bed and throwing the flowers out the window with a furious shout.
Since that day Hermione tried putting a curse on the bedroom door, meaning that only those who knew the counter-curse could enter, and those who didn’t would be blown all the way back down to the common room. Poor Ron had ended up being the test subject, which he wasn’t happy about in the slightest, but we had to make sure it worked somehow.
However, even that didn’t work. The letters kept arriving as usual, and the gifts would still appear neatly in my room every day. Not that it stopped me from discarding them in the most public way possible. My anger was growing by the second and throwing them away didn’t feel finite enough, so one night after watching the boy’s quidditch practice when Hermione and I found a teddy bear on my pillow I finally lost my cool.
I could hear voices in the common room, but that didn’t stop me. With the bear in one hand I stormed down, pushed past the small crowd of people laughing and chatting, and threw it into the fire with a grunt. They all fell into silence, Hermione catching up just in time to see its fur crackle away.
I sighed in relief, it felt good to watch the flames engulf around it. Whispers started up from behind me as my friend came over, her hand holding mine gently as we both just stood there. The bear's eyes began to melt, the plastic dripping down its face.
“Come on,” She murmured, taking me back upstairs where I screamed about how horrifying it all was and whether this ‘sick fuck’ thought he was being genuinely romantic.
-
“Who do you think it could be?” Hermione asked me the next night, as I ripped up yet another letter. The sight of my own owl was beginning to instil fear within me.
“At first I thought it could’ve been the twins, but even they’re finding this too much.”
Fred and George knew pretty much everything about everyone at Hogwarts, but when Ron had shown them the extent of this person’s doing, they too drew up a blank, mentioning how weird all of it was.
“They’re not like that,”
“This isn’t a harmless prank anymore is it?” I asked the girl, who wanted desperately to help me solve this twisted mystery.
“I don’t think it ever was,” She hummed to herself, sighing in defeat at the knowledge that the letter I was destroying was in no means the last of its kind.
-
It quickly became common knowledge that I had a stalker after my meltdown in the common room. Professor Mcconagall even offered to help, but there wasn’t much she could do without knowing who it was. Honestly I was weirdly glad she couldn’t, all this frustration had made me determined to deal with the fucker myself.
Hermione didn’t let me go anywhere by myself anymore, with the fear that the creep could pounce while I was without one of them. Most of the time it was fine, I had classes with at least one of them at all times and we had meals together as it was. But it meant that whenever I needed to study, one of them would have to go with me to the library. Hermione also made the rule that she’d sit outside my cubicle every time I showered, especially since the stalker had mentioned it before, keeping watch in case he tried to show up while I was vulnerable.
Despite it making my life a little more complicated, I was glad the others were so willing to look after me. If it wasn’t for them being with me 24/7 who knows what could have happened?
-
It was Harry’s turn to be on y/n watch, as he and Ron had called it, when Fred and George came running into the common room breathless. We had been looking over the most recent letter and discussing more theories on who it could possibly be when they’d burst in. We let them get their breath back, Fred hunching over as George did his best to get his words out.
“We know who it is y/n..” He’d just about managed. I jumped up, letting him sit down.
“Wh-at? Really? Who- how?” I stuttered.
Fred stood up straight, having finally gotten his heartbeat back down.
“Katie bell said she’d seen Cormac Mclaggen writing some letters this morning, then Lavender said something about him buying a teddy in Hogsmeade last week.”
“But they both saw him coming down your dorm tower last night.” George finished, cutting his brother off from the kicker of the story.
“Oi I was getting to that.” Fred grumbled, but I had zoned them as soon as I’d heard Cormac’s name mentioned.
My fists clenched up with absolute aggression, I could kill him. Now I had a disgusting, smug face to put to all the fear and loathing he’d caused and all I wanted to do was break said face.
“That fucker!” I shouted out into thin air, heading for the door. But Fred was the one to catch me before I reached it, dragging me back again without a second thought.
“Y/n it could be someone else,” Harry tried to reason, but it had to be him. It only made sense. The twins didn’t seem too convinced but argued another point against me going to find him myself.
“Besides Mclaggen is a big guy, if you go alone there’s no saying what he’d do to you.” George nodded in agreement with his brother and, as much as I hated to admit it, Fred was right. Cormac had been keeper on their quidditch team for a while now, and didn’t hide how much he liked to work out when flirting with girls. So why was he choosing me to be so creepy and mysterious to, not that I would’ve appreciated him doing it face to face either.
We decided to have a secret meeting later that night with everyone after telling Hermione and Ron what we’d learnt. Ron was mad, wanting to confront him immediately similarly to how I had reacted, but like the others Mione agreed that we should plan something.
“Guys like that are too proud, he won’t listen to y/n if she rejects him in person,” She had explained, cross legged at the end of my bed. I was propped up against my headboard, my knees tucked up to my body with multiple means of murder running through my mind.
“Not to mention you’d be giving him the satisfaction he’s always wanted,” Fred added, sitting on the windowsill beside me. One of his feet was hanging off the edge near me, swinging ever so slightly. Some weird part of me wanted to reach out, just for something to hold onto.
In the end it was decided that Ron, Harry and the twins would go and talk to him in the morning while they were at quidditch practice. This meant that I could go down to breakfast without the worry that he would be there, watching me from down the table. I tried to hide my fear of him, but with so many of them looking after me that night it was inevitable that at least one of them saw the tears in my eyes, if not all of them.
-
Hermione, Ron and Harry needed to go to the library to do homework after we discussed Cormac, leaving me with the twins as bodyguards which could have been worse. They did their best to take my mind off of the boy who had been writing to me about his deepest fantasies, but I wasn’t in the mood for it.
George played around with the perfume bottles lined up on the dresser, using his wand to make them dance. He had always been good at keeping himself amused. Fred had remained on the windowsill the whole time, his foot still going back and forth even when I laid on my side and found it right in my face.
He laughed lightly as I poked it away wordlessly, only to push it back into my face again. Admittedly, our little game of him swinging his foot to me so I could gently hit it away kept my mind busy for a while. Obviously it had sent me to sleep too, as I woke up when Hermione came back to let the twins go. Half asleep I groaned a thank you to them, Fred rustling my hair as he passed by and George slapping my leg in recognition.
-
Breakfast the next morning felt tense, Lavender had told people she thought it was Mclaggen which meant everyone kept coming up to ask if it was true. Some of them even tried to convince me how nice he really was, and that I was lucky to be wanted by him. Hermione of course sent them all on their way, keeping a hold of my hand as I struggled to finish even one slice of toast. All the while, my eyes remained glued to the great hall doors, hoping I wouldn’t see him turn up early from practice. The thought of seeing him at all had kept me away from the common room, a sickly feeling bubbling in my stomach knowing that the boy’s would probably be confronting him right about now.
I felt like throwing up on the spot, my friend’s hand getting crushed in my own as I saw him saunter in, his eyes immediately catching mine and giving me a smug smile. All I wanted to do was go over to where he sat down without a care and break his nose off with one punch. That would stop him from smirking so much like a pervert.
“What happened?” Hermione asked the boys when they finally arrived.
“”He’s a huge git you know.” Ron grumbled, glaring the boy down but the whole time it was me he was watching. I stopped looking after a while, my eyes glossing over as I listened to the twins explain how he’d reacted.
“I don’t think he even cares that we know,” Fred said.
“He’s proud of it really.” George added, making that sickly feeling somehow intensify.
“Even with these two around he wasn’t bothered,” Harry pointed to the older Weasley brothers with a huff.
“Yeah, and we were threatening him quite a lot.” George laughed, no one else really responding to his attempt at a cheery comment.
“We better go,”Hermione said, checking the time and taking my hand “Come on, if we don’t go now he might wait all day.” She whispered to me and I nodded, standing up with her. “Just ignore him.” The girl reminded me as we got nearer to his end of the table, his eyes following my step.
I broke from Mione’s grip, leaning across the table to him with a glare on my face. The fear had turned into anger all over again now that he was in front of me.
“You’re vile Mclaggen.”
“What’s wrong y/n?” He asked, that smirk never faltering. “Didn’t you like my love letters?”
People around him were confused, now learning that he’d been the one to stalk me these past couple of weeks. While some of them were his friends, none of them jumped to his defense.
“You need to get a fucking life, and leave me alone you freak.” I spat, standing up straight again to see a shocked Hermione waiting for me. I just smiled and took her hand again, leading her out of the hall as if nothing had happened.
“Christ y/n..” she scoffed “Well done.” I leant against the windowsill in the hallway, laughing hysterically into my hands.
“God that felt good.” I breathed a sigh of relief, not sure whether it worked or not but glad that I at least got to embarrass him for just one moment.
-
It was my mistake to let my guard down and expect nothing more from Mclaggen that day. Because what happened that very night still is the very reason people check that every door and window is locked before they go to bed.
The commotion had woken me up first, shouts and panicked scuffling coming from two different people. Then the lights were turned on, dragging me out of my sleep in a single second just to see Hermione standing in the middle of the room with her wand outstretched. At the other end, Cormac Mclaggen was backing away slowly with his hands in the air, finally a frightened look on his face. He looked over at me, now awake and frozen with fear, giving Mione a chance to shout out for help.
“RON! FRED!” she screamed, knowing just one of them had to have heard from their beds. With this Cormac ran off, Hermione shooting stunning spells after him but he dodged every one of them as he descended the tower.
“Oh my god,” I finally gasped, swallowing down hard. I broke out into a burst of tears just before the boys turned up at the door George and Harry with them, all of them with wands out for whatever was going to be inside. Hermione wrapped her arms around me, looking up at the boys but still reassuring me that it was all okay now.
“He was in here,” She said slowly, making Ron and Harry race down to the common room to see if they could catch him.
Fred and George came to my side, each taking one of my hands and holding it tight. They sat with me all through the night, letting Hermione sleep for a while. Neither of them dared drift off themselves, certain that this wouldn’t be the creep’s last attempt to get close to me.
“You can sleep if you want,” Fred whispered to me, my head leaning on his shoulder. I shook it slightly.
“I can’t.”
-
{third pov}
When y/n whispered to him that she couldn’t sleep, despite all the people there to keep watch for that dick Mclaggen, Fred decided he wanted to see him dead. There had to be more he could do, something that would make him leave her alone for good. Threats hadn’t worked on him, neither had the girl he wanted so badly confronting him. So the boy felt at a loss, yet fuelled to stop the onslaught of fear that y/n felt.
So he waited until his brother was in the shower to sneak off to the courtyard, hoping to catch the pervert on his way to his daily run by the lake.
“Oi, Mclaggen!” He called across the empty bridge, seeing him appear from the castle.
“You alright Weasley?”
“It’s Fred. And I know what you did last night?” He stood tall over the boy, but nothing seemed to waver his confidence.
“And what would that be?”
“You were there, in her room. You sick fucker.” The boy huffed, feeling himself growing more and more frustrated at Cormac’s arrogance.
“You missed quite a party,” he scoffed, raising his eyebrows. Fred reached forward, grabbing his shirt and pulling it up to his chin.
“You listen to me, Okay? Leave y/n alone.” The boy swore that the pervert’s smile grew.
“And what’s it to you Weasley.” He all but hissed.
“She’s my girlfriend.”
The words had come out quicker than he’d really had time to think over their repercussions, but seeing the look on Mclaggen’s face drop in shock made up for whatever he was going to have to do from then on.
“She.. l-likes you?” Fred dropped him again, making him stumble slightly as he thought it over.
“Afraid so buddy.”
“How long has she been yours?” He hated the way it was phrased as if y/n was a possession for one of them to own.
“Two weeks.” Fred lied yet again, the anger he’d felt pushing him continue this story. At least it seemed to bother the other boy enough.
Cormac had sent one last glare at the ginger, before going off in a huff. Finally something had worked, maybe not for good, but it at least had gotten a reaction out of him. As Fred headed back inside the castle he realised that the only way the creep’s obsessive ways could be stopped, was if y/n’s attention was somewhere else.
Now he just had to find a way to explain that to her, without her getting too mad.
-
My room was now my safe place, somewhere he couldn’t turn up without consequence. Harry had brought me some breakfast from the great hall, and Ron was doing his best to keep what little spirits we had amongst us high. Hermione and George had given up trying to convince me to tell Mcgonagall, as I assured them nothing could be done unless he was caught inside the dorm.
“It’s just our word against his,” I huffed. We were all sitting around wondering where Fred had disappeared to when he appeared at the door, an awkward smile on his face when we all looked over at him.
“So…” He started, his voice wary as if we all might snap at him for what he was abou to say. “I might have done something bad.”

speak now - rafe cameron
it’s the day of your wedding and, even though it’s been two years, you can’t stop thinking about the one who got away. little do you know he’s also consumed with thoughts of you and he’s not ready to give up just yet
warnings: angst with a happy ending
pairing: rafe cameron x reader
word count: 2.9k
a/n: this is the fic i wrote for pen on imessage, everyone say thank you to @girlsru1eboysdroo1 for the fact that this isn’t totally depressing!! i emphasized her favorite lines just for fun, i always wanted to write a fic with this trope so here it is, enjoy!!
Tumblr media
You had loved Rafe Cameron your whole life, and truth be told you probably always would. But, he wasn’t yours to want anymore and you weren’t his. In fact, you were silently freaking out in a small room of a church, thinking about the one who got away as your fiancé stood at the end of the aisle.
It wasn’t fair to Chris. Chris, who was so sweet, so kind. Who supported you through thick and thin. Who uprooted his whole life to follow you to the grad school of your dreams. Who held you and loved you and treated you right. Chris, who would probably do anything for you if you only asked.
That was the thing though, with Rafe you never had to ask. He had known you better than you had known yourself, could predict when you needed him and what exactly you needed. He could feel the shift in your energy after a bad day at school or work, and was always ready to cheer you up, whether it was shitty fast food and shittier reality television or his sometimes gentle touch.
Rafe had known you and loved you, all the parts of you. Not just the good that Chris so often praised you over, your kind heart and selfless attitude. But also, the parts of you that you felt you had to hide, your petty jealousy, your quick temper. He loved not only your beautiful parts, but every scar and every flaw too.
But Rafe had let you down, too. His own temper and irrationality got him into trouble on more than one occasion, and all you had wanted was for him to let go of old hurts. You understood his insecurity stemmed from years of never being good enough for his father, Ward Cameron was a son of a bitch who had ruined the self-esteem of the boy you loved. Ultimately it was a combination of both that spelled the end of your relationship. A screaming match where he had projected his own inner turmoil onto you, certain that you could never truly love someone like him. He had said things he couldn’t take back, and you had packed your bags that night, never to step foot in his apartment again.
So here you were, two years later, about to marry another man. You looked at yourself in the mirror, saw the fresh tears pooling, threatening to spill and ruin your expensive makeup. If anyone were to see you, they would probably assume they were happy tears, brought on by the overwhelming joy of linking yourself to Chris forever. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Your tears stemmed from the knowledge that going through with this truly meant the end of a future with Rafe. It was stupid, Rafe hadn’t contacted you in the years since your break up, and the only information you received on his wellbeing you got through his sister Sarah who you still thought of as a friend. Rafe didn’t know that you kept tabs on him, but you wouldn’t be surprised if Sarah told him about you, too. You briefly wondered what it would have felt like to receive the news of your engagement, if he ever saw the invitation hung on Sarah’s fridge. If he was sad, or jealous, or if he even cared.
For a moment, you thought about running, pulling a runaway bride, but Chris didn’t deserve that. His only flaw was that he wasn’t Rafe Cameron, and it wasn’t fair to resent him for that fact. Besides, your mother would throw a fit. She had been mad enough when you had arrived home, 21 and single and in need of a place to stay as you got back on your feet. You were pretty sure she might actually disown you if you left another ‘eligible bachelor’, especially this close to commitment. You would likely never hear the end of how you had ruined a perfectly good (and extravagantly expensive) wedding. Not only that, there was no guarantee the next guy you found would hold a candle to Rafe, and you were certain by his two year long radio silence, that Rafe was over you. So, you got up, smoothed down the crinkle in your off-white wedding dress, dabbed at your eyes with a tissue and grabbed your bouquet, resigned to going through with the wedding.
The truth is, when Rafe walked into Sarah’s apartment to pick her up for a lunch with Ward and Rose, she all but threw herself at Rafe to prevent him from seeing the invitation on the fridge. Her plan had been to meet him in the car, but Rafe had walked right in using his key. Suspicious of his little sister’s actions, he gently moved her aside and entered the kitchen to grab a glass of water. He paused, hand hovering near the water dispenser on the fridge as his eyes landed on the photo of you and Chris with “save the date” written in bold block letters. In his shock, the glass slipped from his grasp, shattering on the floor. The sound shook him from his thoughts, and he grimaced at the broken pieces of glass that lay at his feet alongside his shattered heart. He looked at Sarah with a look of pure devastation as she offered him a soft smile and quickly swept up the glass. Unfortunately, the pieces of his heart couldn’t be cleaned up so easily. “I’m sorry,” she had offered quietly and all he could do was shrug and say, “me too.”
The green eyed monster of jealousy lingered on his shoulder in the weeks that follow, causing him to lash out more and more. His coworkers avoided him, his friends wanted nothing to do with him, and the only people who he could stand to be around were his little sisters of all people. Despite Sarah keeping your engagement a secret, she had tried to save him from heartbreak, but it was always going to hurt no matter when or where he found out. Since finding out, thoughts of you consumed him, they always had. He had given you the space you had so desperately asked for that night you left, always thinking that you would come back to him, that the two of you would work it out and move on together. He never stopped thinking about you and wondering where you were and what you were doing. He’d heard you’d gone through a few relationships, and he wouldn’t lie about the way his heart would leap a little every time your relationships failed.
Now, it was serious. You’d found someone you’d deemed worthy enough to spend your life with. Rafe always thought that person was him, but he didn’t blame you for not thinking that, too. He had his issues, he was quick to anger, projected his insecurities on others, he’d struggled with addiction and alcoholism although he’d been clean for almost three years at the point. Rafe couldn’t help but admit he was jealous. Jealous of the nights he didn’t get to spend with you, jealous of the love you were giving some other guy that you had once reserved for him, jealous of the life you were going to spend with someone else. Above all else, he was jealous that you were happy without him. He thought you hung the moon, and he was once happy to live among the stars. He would still rearrange the entire night sky for you, but now you saw stars in another’s eyes.
As your wedding date approached, he only felt worse. He couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to have been the one in the wedding invite picture, to have his name written in an elegant script alongside yours on a piece of thick cardstock paper inviting your family and friends to celebrate your love. The daydream overtook his brain. Thoughts of wedding cake tastings and searching for a venue and fighting over seating charts invaded his every waking hour. And at night, he dreamt of being the one at the end of the aisle as you slowly walked towards him, a vision in white with your hair framing your face like the prettiest painting he had ever seen. Saw you approach him, place your hand in his and vow to be his forever. Felt your lips on his as you kissed for the first time as man and wife, dipping you unexpectedly and feeling your delicate fingertips wrap around his lapels to keep you steady. Dreamt of the first dance, twirling you around in his arms, and speeches and kissing every time cutlery tapped a wine glass. Dreamt of a hotel suite with rose petals on the floor, of slowly unzipping your dress and kissing every inch revealed, of a lacy white lingerie set and making love to you as your husband for the first time. But every morning he awoke in a too-large and too-empty king size bed with nothing but the faint memory of a dream.
On the morning of your wedding he awoke from such a dream, and realized he was going to wake up like that every morning for the rest of his life - sad, alone and wanting you. It was then he understood that he had to do something, had to tell you how he felt. He knew it was selfish and impetuous and rash, but he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he didn’t at least try. He couldn’t let you marry some hedge fund manager from Raleigh who dressed like a douche in your engagement photo shoot. And so Rafe pulled himself out of his depression and his silk sheets, dressing himself in a suit and tie to hopefully blend in the back church pew. He didn’t tell Sarah, didn’t tell anyone about his plans lest they convince him not to try.
“Bride,” he told the usher when asked who’s side he was with, before slipping into the last pew on the left. His eyes glanced around the church and he shook his head, even the venue was wrong. You had always told Rafe that you wanted to be married on the beach, barefoot in the sand of the OBX, a soft breeze against your skin. He would always tease you about the breeze, lying in bed together with your hands intertwined dreaming about the future. But, in your dreams, you had always giggled, you could control the weather and you wanted a slight breeze like a scene from a movie. He pulled at his tie a little, the atmosphere stuffy and stifling, and he thought that, if you would have him, he would give you your dream beach wedding, even if he had to buy a large fan to give you your slight breeze.
You stood at the back of the church, nervously picking at the bouquet in your hands as your bridesmaids made their way down the aisle. Your arms were shaking with anxiety, but to the casual outside observer you likely seemed to be jittery with excitement. “You ready, sweetheart?” your father asked, offering you his bent elbow. Swallowing hard, you placed your hand in the crook of his arm and entered the chapel. Chris stood at the end of the aisle, a vision in a dark grey tux with a light pink tie to match the color of your bridesmaids’ dresses. You felt tears prick at your eyes as you felt nothing for the man standing there waiting for you. His eyes filled with matching tears and you felt nothing. Scanning the pews for reassurance from your family and friends, you spotted him. There, in the back pew on the left side, your side, sat Rafe Cameron.
You froze, eyes wide as you laid eyes on Rafe Cameron for the first time since you walked out of his apartment two years ago. Of course, you had unhealthily stalked his social media for months after the break up, and every now and then when you felt like torturing yourself, but this was the first time you saw him in person, close enough to run to, close enough to touch. Tearing your eyes from his, you scanned the church again, gulping as you met the furious stare of your mother in the first row, cringing at the almost devastated look on Chris’s face. Lastly, you looked up at your father who gave you a knowing stare, before inclining his head slightly at you. It was that small confirmation that sold it for you. You handed the bouquet to your father, quietly said, “I’m sorry,” before you turned and ran out of the church.
It was difficult to run in your expensive red bottom shoes, but you made an admirable effort for the first few feet before stopping long enough to slip them off. You held both shoes by the heel in one hand, the other hand grasping the bottom of your dress to keep it from dragging on the ground slowing you down. There’s a small park across the street from the church, and it’s here that you realize you’re being followed. Your chest restricts as you recognize the voice calling your name doesn’t belong to your mother or Chris or your bridesmaids. Stopping and turning around, you spot Rafe hot on your heels. You can’t do anything but stand there and stare at him as comes to a stop in front of you, slightly out of breath despite his trim figure. You take him in, eyes roaming every inch of his tall frame. You’re a little dizzy, unsure if it’s the rush of your fight or flight instinct, or the rush you’ve always felt in Rafe’s presence.
“I’m sorry,” is the first phrase that leave his lips and you look at him in confusion. He loves the way your nose scrunches up, and the little crinkle that appears between your eyebrows, has dreamed of seeing it again.
“For what?” you asked, unsure of what he was apologizing for. You weren’t upset that you’d ran off, you knew that you didn’t really want to marry Chris, that you had only said yes because of the pressure from your mom and the knowledge that Rafe hadn’t spoken to you in two years.
“Everything,” he admits, flexing his hands nervously. “God, y/n, I fucked up so bad.” Your eyes are staring at his fidgeting hands, and in a split second you’ve dropped your shoes onto the grass and grasped his hands in yours, linking your fingers.
He looks between your now linked hands and your face, and you take the opportunity to take a step closer to him. “I’m sorry too,” you speak softly, “I shouldn’t have ran like that. I should have stayed, and I should have fought for you.”
“You’re not-“ he swallows, “you’re not mad I ruined your wedding?” Despite your hands in his, despite the look in your eye as you stare up at him, despite the fact that you haven’t run from him, he has to ask. Has to make sure that you’re still as in love with him as he is you. That you’ve spent the past two years thinking about where you both went wrong and how you could fix it. That you had thought and dreamt of this moment, where you were close enough to press your lips together.
“I think we both know that wasn’t my wedding, not really. Wrong color scheme, wrong venue...” you pause thoughtfully, squeezing his hands as a smile makes its way onto your face. He catches on quickly, his lips upturning with a small smirk as he finishes your thought, “Wrong groom?”
You giggle, dropping his hands in favour of gripping his face with your palms, smiling widely up at him. There’s something about the intimacy of the moment, of feeling his skin beneath your fingertips, that has you emotional. Rafe feels it too, staring into your eyes, in full disbelief that this is how today has gone. He had hoped, of course. He wouldn’t have shown up at the church if he thought there was no chance of stopping your wedding. But to have you here... Your thumb strokes his cheek as his eyes fill with tears. “Yeah, baby, wrong groom.”
At your confirmation, he ducks his head down and presses his lips to yours. Your hands slide from his cheeks to wrap around his neck, pulling him closer. He wraps an arm around your waist, the other wrapping around the back of your neck holding you in place as the kiss deepens. You have to pull back to breathe, but he doesn’t let you go far, holding you in place as you rest your foreheads together.
“I’m so in love with you,” he whispers against your lips and you grin before pecking his lips once. “I’m still in love with you, too,” you whisper back. Suddenly, you’re kissing again, two years of absence melting away with each brush of your lips.
You pull away for a second time, smiling as his lips attempt to chase yours. “We’re going to have to work at this you know, our issues didn’t just go away,” you tell him seriously.
He nods, grabbing one of your hands to kiss the inside of your palm, “I know baby, but I’m ready to work on it, on us, this time.”
You grin widely at him once more, before grabbing your shoes and linking your hands together, “then let’s get me out of this stupid dress.”

Our Sin >> Jungkook, You (Part 4)
PLEASE READ ME FIRST : PART 1| PART 2 |PART 3
Tumblr media
Once upon a time, three friends loved each other very much, people thought they could pass as siblings. They promised to always stay loyal and never hurt each other no matter what. They promised to stay friends and never let anything ruin what they had for each other. Jungkook, Minju, and Y/N.
Two girls and one boy.
They swore that they wouldn’t fight over love because being together the three of them was the perfect calculation to have existed. Y/N fought her demons and hide her feelings for the boy who brightened up her life and gave her hope to keep going and face life. She couldn’t betray her friend’s trust and let such unwanted feelings to ruin everything.
That was until the last year of high school. When Jungkook and Minju came while holding hands.
Y/N tried so hard to deny all the signs. They could never betray her like this. They all swore on their friendship. However, Minju was blushing and wouldn’t meet her friend’s eyes. Jungkook was braver but he was shy to admit the truth. That they were already in love, leaving her alone, and totally ignoring her feelings.
Their hands will not break free.
Jungkook stuttering trying to form words. It was Minju who broke the silence and awkward moment. “Y/N, sorry. we can’t keep that from you for so long... we are dating.”
Y/N smiled faintly, trying so hard to hide the pain and tears from her eyes. Her efforts to keep the promised gone to air but she had to work harder for the friendship to never go away.
She couldn’t lose two of her friends, just because she is foolishly in love with someone who was in love with someone else.
“I knew it.” A forced chuckle skipped her mouth. “I already knew you would do that eventually. Congratulations, my friends.”
“Aren’t you mad?” Jungkook asked. A hint of surprise rose in his voice.
“I am happy for you.” Y/N nodded at her friends. “Our friendship is stronger than this. I know it is.”
At that time, the three friends didn’t know that their trip of sins would start.
They didn’t know that breaking that promise back then when they were just young and wild would bring them all the unfortunate events and bad feelings. Lies and breaking promised were a cycle that the three friends didn’t stop doing.
_____________
Two weeks after Y/N left.
Jungkook couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened.
Minju wouldn’t answer his calls and Y/N left for a new start even though he wondered if you would be able to get it. He couldn’t stop thinking about you ever since you Left. He wished he could turn back time and make different decisions.
Like how he shouldn’t have hide after hearing about your pregnancy. He shouldn’t have asked for time to think about it. He knew that he loved you and he was so ready to have a life with you. However, Minju always appeared in his mind like a haunting ghost. Blaming him for stopping loving her when she was ready to fully love him. He thought he loved Minju too.
God, he loved Minju but when he saw your tears his heart ached as if thousands of knives decided to stab him in the heart at the same time with no mercy.
His heart ached for you and only you.
He was just too stupid to realize how important you were in his life before. He thought Minju was the answer.
When he first asked Minju out, Y/N popped in his mind smiling brightly at his silly jokes. He pushed that memory away, back in the days he thought he felt sorry for you, for breaking that silly promise they made for each other. He didn’t want to hurt his childhood friend because he fell in love with her best friend.
Your reaction at that time surprised him, yet put him at ease. Maybe he shouldn’t have thought about it too much. That’s what friends are for.
Nevertheless, he was wrong.
You indeed were hurt considering that now he knew how you felt about him. He hated himself more than anything.
Looking at the ceiling of his room, his eyes fell on the stars you had helped him in decorating his room with before. A small smile formed on his lips as tears blurring his vision. He couldn’t believe he let himself be a coward and lose you in the thin air like this.
A vibration coming from his phone made him threw his body in a sitting position. He caught himself hoping it was from you. However, disappointment yet fear washed over him when he saw the name in capital letters and a heart beside it. MINJU.
--Let’s talk! I don’t like to leave things unfinished.
He knew what she meant from her text. She was breaking up with him. However, the Minju he knows wouldn’t let be unless she heard it from him.
-Meet you in 20 minutes. Our regular place.
Jungkook texted back
--Tsk, I wish you didn’t reply so fast. See you there.
First thing, first, Jungkook was determined to confess all of his sins, but he wasn’t going to ask for forgiveness. As the person who should hear it could no longer receive it.
__________________
Everyone deserves a chance to start a new life that was meant to change from them. And that was your decision when you left your best friend; who now hate to hear your name and the one whom you truly love.
They say if you have a guy friend you should never ever fall in love with them. Now, you knew why. Simply you didn’t just lose your long time crush, you lost your secret keeper and the one who tried his best to be a good friend.
A part of you didn’t want to take the whole blame, however you decided to be the bad one when you decided to get rid of the baby.
You wanted to erase everything. It pained you so much to look in the mirror and think of the possibility that you could have been a mother.
You wrote the bad things you did for the past year in a white thin paper. Wanting to let them go and you wrote each one of them, thinking of the mess you cause because of it.
You looked at the list one more time:
1-  Slept with my best friend’s ex who is my close friend
2-  lied to Minju
3-  lied to jungkook
4- got pregnant
5- Took advantage of Jungkook in the loneliest moment in his life.
6- truly loved Jungkook knowing he didn’t love me and cared for Minju
7- I killed the baby
Whipping away the tears that started running down your cheeks, you crumbled the paper with your fist and threw it into the sea.
Today, after this moment, you will live only for yourself. You didn’t deserve to be a girlfriend to anyone or even a mom ever again.
You looked at the paper as it sank slowly into the deep blue water and disappeared. As you no longer could see it, you took a deep breath and promised yourself never to cry again or think about your sins ever. You were going to start a life that was only for yourself.
___________________
Three years later
“Teacher! Can you help me?”
One of your students approached you with a notebook as you were looking through the windows to the sea view beside the school. The cute little girl was more than four years old. You couldn’t help but think that your baby would have been as old as she was or a little younger. The girl was wearing a yellow dress that was filled with flowers everywhere. It made her look like an angel with her hair tied up into two ponies on each side. She was smiling at you excitedly as she pushed her notebook toward you. She was only four years old yet she cared so much about her art and classwork.
“Let me see, Hana.” You kneeled beside her as you opened her notebook. Her handwriting was huge and messy. You found them cute. Sometimes you secretly took pictures of your students' handwriting as a memory for you to keep. However, what Hana showed you, wasn’t an art or classwork. You looked at her handwriting in awe as you smiled so widely from ear to ear. She wrote you a letter.
I love you, teacher Y/N. You are the best teacher and I want to be like you when I grow up. You are cool and pretty. You are the best.
“Are you crying, Teacher?” Hana looked concerned as tears started to form in her eyes too.
You whipped the tears with the back of your hands so quickly as you shook your head, and laughed so that Hana stop making that sad face. “I am happy. Very happy, thank you, Hana.”
“You can take the paper. It is yours.” Hana said as she ripped the paper with the letter out of her notebook before running back to her class.
Working with kids, changed you a lot. After you decided to start all over again a new life, you moved to Jeju island and applied to be a kindergarten teacher. Fortunately, you got the job and you have been living a calm life ever since.
You folded the letter and put it in your bag. You had a box filled with love letters from your students. They were all so cute and loved to show love everywhere they go. These small letters like a cheer up treat to your lonely nights. Whenever thoughts and bad memories haunt your dreams, you would wake up to read all of them without getting tired.
When all the kids went home, you decided to go to the market instead of going home right away. You needed to shop for groceries as your fridge started to be empty.
Since Jeju island is so small, people knew each other. And living for three years in this small island made it easier for people to know you. Every shop vendor greeted you happily as the offered to show you their new products and goods. Everyone was kind to you and made you feel welcomed.
“Good afternoon, Y/N.” The fruit shop grandpa greeted you as you approached his shop.
“Grandpa, do you have apples?” You asked as you looked around for it. “I can’t see them.”
“They are inside, I changed their place as they keeping falling around everywhere.” He laughed as he explained how old he was for him to run after a rolling apple.
“You are still young, grandpa.” You complimented him and he cheered in confidence.
“You, young children, know what to say.” He handed you your apples and you paid him before turning around.
At that moment, the world started to tie up around you. Your lungs forgot how to breathe as you caught sight of the thing you wanted to avoid for as long as you were alive. Why are they here? Questions filled your mind and only one answered popped in your head.
RUN.
You turned so fast the other way around. It was so fast that you didn’t notice someone was behind you. You bumped into the fruit shop grandson, who had a crush on you. However, his strong arms held you in place, protecting you for accidents. “Y/N!” He exclaimed happily. He was so loud that blood went cold into your veins. When he noticed the horror in your eyes he looked at you worriedly. “Is something wrong?”
“I have to go. Talk to you later, Dojoon-shi” and started to walk as fast as you could. Dojoon called after you as you fastened your pace and started to run.
Why are they here out of all the places? What are they doing? They seemed like they are still together. Your chest tightened and your vision blurred as your legs wouldn’t stop.
Jungkook and Minju were in Jeju island. Minju was holding into Jungkook’s arm as he was looking at a necklace from the accessory lady.
The burning in your chest wouldn’t stop. When you reached home, you kicked your shoes away and walked straight to your room. Hands in hair, you pulled into it as you couldn’t stop thinking. Finally, after three years you learned how to move on. Did they come here looking for you? Is it coincident? How did they make up?
A part of you was happy that they could manage to stay together. Another part of you was broken over the fact that you had become the one who couldn’t be forgiven.
“Good for them.” You murmured to yourself. “At least now you can live without feeling guilty. You didn’t ruin their relationship at least.”
__________
“Jungkook, look at this beautiful necklace,” Minju said as she grabbed Jungkook’s arm as she stopped by a lady who was selling jewelry. The necklace charm took a heart shape with a moon and a star inside of it. Jungkook looked at it and couldn’t help but think of Y/N. A moon and a star. Two things that matched well with Y/N’s personality. She was the moon and the star that guided him during his darkest days. He felt her absence when she was gone. Technically she was around him as long as he could ever remember.
“It would look good on, Y/N,” Minju said, reading Jungkook’s expression.
Jungkook’s eyes widened in surprise. Was he thinking out loud?
“It would look good on you too.”
“Eh, stop lying. It also reminded me of her the moment I saw it.” Minju sighed as she looked away from Jungkook. “Did you use to have the same expression while thinking of me?”
Jungkook groaned and Minju laughed. “Minju!”
“You didn’t have to protest like this. I am hurt.”
“Do you think we will find her?” Jungkook’s eyes were full of worry and anxiety.
“Emma said she saw her multiple times while she was on vacation here,” Minju said, shaking her head. “That only means one thing. She moved in her and lied to you.”
“Would she be happy to see me?”
“I—”
“Y/N!!!”
Before Minju could answer, a man shouted a name too familiar and unique to ignore. Minju and Jungkook snapped their head towards the voice. Only to find a man standing in the middle of the street, looking annoyed and sad and no one was in front of him.
Jungkook looked at Minju whose eyes grew in excitement. At least this could be the confirmation they need to know that their search wasn't a waste of time.
Jungkook walked over to the man, he looked around the same age as him. A small burn feeling rose in his chest. “Excuse me, do you know Y/N?”
“Teacher Y/N?” He looked behind him then back at Jungkook. “Yes, and who are you?”
“Her best friend,” Minju answered instead as she reached out for a handshake. “We are looking for Y/N. Can you help us?”
_____________
You couldn’t sleep last night, those dark circles were more visible than ever. Your skin was pale and dehydrated. You reached for a bottle of water as you gulped it down in one sip. You no longer wanted to go out of your house. Jeju Island was so small that there was a huge chance to run into them again. However, you still had a job and a life to live. Until when were you going to keep running away?
With a determined mind, you walked into your bedroom to get ready for a new day. It didn’t matter if you run into them. If that happened you would greet them with a smile, congrats them for being together again, and go on with your life that you choose to live. Or maybe...
Keep avoiding them.
The school you worked in was a few minutes away from your house. You liked to walk there every day as a form of daily exercise. People greeted you as you walked the streets. Elders, children, and young people, everyone was smiling at you, throwing random questions in your direction.
“How is your day, Teacher Y/N?”
“Have a nice day, Y/N”
“You will visit our shop today right?”
After a few seconds, the school gate started to appear. Two figures were standing by the gate. As you walked closer, the figures started to come clearer, colors became more vibrant, and the facial feature was stronger. You stopped in your place as you looked at your old friends. Jungkook was leaning on the wall, he seemed to be in deep thoughts while Minju stood in front of him, talking nonstop. They were standing in front of your school, probably waiting for you. Or why would they be here out of all places?
“Teacher. Y/N, why are you hiding behind a tree?” You looked down at the voice, to find Hana. Her small hands holding the strips of her back bag tightly as she looked at you with curious eyes.
“SHUSH!” You put an index to your mouth as you gestured for her to leave.
“Aren’t you going inside, Teacher Y/N?” She was unnecessarily too loud.
Glancing at Jungkook and Minju’s direction, your breath caught in your chest. They were looking at your direction. You took a deep breath before sighing slowly.
“Hana, darling, go inside or you will miss school.” You said to Hana as Jungkook and Minju walked towards you. “Please, Hana. I will follow you shortly.”
Hana huffed before walking to the school gate. Minju waved to her but Hana ignored her and kept walking to her destination.
“Are all your student brats?” Minju exclaimed as she stopped in front of you, beside her was jungkook who wouldn’t meet your eyes.
“Why are you here?” You asked and it sounded like you were annoyed.
“Someone kept crying every night missing you. It started to annoy me.” Minju sighed as she glanced at Jungkook at thew corner of her eyes. "Plus, that should be our question. What about the UK?"
“Look! I do not know why you are here guys. But I am trying to move on with my life here. Can you please just---?” You sounded harsher than you meant as you gestured for them to leave.
As you started to walk away, a hand reached for your wrist stopping you. You glanced up, to find Jungkook in front of you. Electric waves ran through your arms, reviving all your sensations. That what Jungkook’s touch could always do to you.
“Can we talk?” It was Jungkook’s first words to you. “Please.” The pleading voice and eyes filled with something glittering made you sigh deeply.
“After work. Okay? Wait for me by the cafe around the corner of this street.” You said as you pulled away from his grip. The sensation of his warm hand, still there. Reminding you that this is more real than you thought. “Can you leave now?”
“Let’s go,” Minju said as she locked Jungkook’s arms with hers. You watched as they walked away, bit your lower lip. Why did they come all the way here just to show me how good your relationship became?
This was your chance for a real goodbye. A chance to forgive the sins you all did.  A real closure to a friendship that was left hanging on bad terms.
to be continued...

Thin Ice Pt 3 || Peter Parker x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: The decathlon team gets snowed in and room 401 and 412 decide to play truth or dare.
Word Count: 4.3k
Author’s note: Wowie this took a long time to write but I’m glad I finally finished it!! Hope everyone is safe and remember, if you need toilet paper, just use the shower to wipe your ass!
Warning: Swearing, teen drinking, mentions of sex, forced kiss kinda
part one || part two || part three || part four || part five || part six || to be continued
Cindy rummaged through her luggage as you mindlessly scrolled through Instagram, spamming through Flash’s insta-stories of the day. MJ laid down right beside you on the hotel bed, making a quick joke about how he probably buys his followers.
You had all just eaten dinner and the chaperones had made their last rounds visiting rooms when the news of an incoming blizzard was heading straight towards the resort. It wasn’t meant to cause any damage but your whole trip itinerary would have to be pushed back a day or two depending on when the blizzard would stop.
You were slightly glad that this storm had decided to roll through because that meant that when it cleared up, there would be hardly anyone on the slopes so you could snowboard without the fear of running into a child on skis.
“ Found it! Who wants to go first?” Cindy asked as she pulled out her bag that was filled with various facemasks.
You and MJ both looked up for a second before turning back to your phone screen unphased.
“ I’ll pass. Last night you made me try it and I couldn’t wash off the pink tint. I looked like a freaking pokemon,” You shivered as MJ laughed beside you.
Cindy got up from her spot on the floor and plopped down beside you, grabbing the phone away from your hands.
You protested as she held the phone above her head, catching a glimpse of your case,” Seriously? A spiderman phone case? Are you and Flash a part of some creepy fangirl club?”
MJ watched as you leaped up and snatched your phone from Cindy quickly, immediately turning it off in the process. You looked at the nightstand beside you as you laid back onto the bed, pointing to her phone that was charging.
“ Oh so you rather me have a hello kitty one?” You teased as you lightly pushed Cindy away with your foot,” what are you twelve?”
Cindy wasted no time and grabbed your foot and pulled you off the bed, causing you to let out a yelp. You landed on your butt as MJ peeked over the bed to make sure you were okay. Once she saw that you were fine, she just shook her head at the two of you and laid back on the bed.
“ Hello Kitty is for all ages thank you very much,” Cindy defended as she sat down on the bed and held up a blue container,” Come on MJ. This is a collagen one from Korea and you know us Asians have great skin.”
MJ rolled her eyes at Cindy but sat up from her spot,” Fine, as long as Y/N does it too.”
After a minute of whining, you and MJ both found yourself sitting upright with a scented sheet mask covering your face. You continued to scroll through Instagram when Betty entered the room holding the ice bucket to her chest.
“ Guess who I just ran into?” Betty asked excitedly as you all perked up,” and might I say, a girl might be catching feelings.”
“ What? Are you talking about Mr. Harrington?” Cindy laughed as Betty put down the ice bucket and stuck her tongue out in disgust.
“ Gross! I mean I did see Mr. Harrington going to the jacuzzi but I’m talking about Ned! Since the chaperones already checked the rooms for lights out, he’s thinking we can all hang out in our room!”
“ Who’s we?” MJ asked as Betty started to clean up her clothes from off the floor.
“ Everyone in his room so Flash, Brad, Peter, and obviously Ned. What else are we gonna do all night?” Betty asked as you pointed to your face.
“ Um hello? Facemasks and talking shit all night sounds like the perfect plan to me,” You shrugged as you turned on your phone and looked through your messages,” plus what if we get in trouble? You know Mr. Harrington will have an aneurysm if he finds four boys and four girls in one room.”
You were already in a weird spot with Brad since this afternoon and you knew that he was the type to hold grudges. You couldn’t imagine being in a room with him and all his attitude but at the same time, you wanted to hang out with Peter.
Betty zipped up her luggage and put it in the corner next to the other mini-fridge,” Y/N, I know you didn’t go but we almost died on our last two trips. Considering all that happened, I think us watching a movie and playing charades with a bunch of science nerds will be harmless.”
Sometimes you envied how everyone seemed to bond over the last two trips for the decathlon team but then you remembered the falling elevator story at the Washington Monument and the droid attack at the Tower Bridge in London. While no one died, you were glad you weren’t apart of that “bonding experience” and you knew if you wanted to bond with people, you would stick to just trust falls exercises.
“ In that case, I call dibs on Flash!” Cindy shouted as she raised her hand promptly, earning a confused look from everyone in the room,” What? Have you seen his house? Securing Flash means securing his bank account and I’m trying to financially invest in my future.”
“ Then I call Brad!” Betty raised her hand but lowered it when she made eye contact with you,” wait nevermind. I forgot about how close you and Brad are.”
“ First off, it’s 2020, we’re not claiming anyone,” you said as Betty rolled her eyes,” secondly, you can have him. I’m not interested in him or any guy right now.
It was half true. You couldn’t care less about Brad going out with someone, even if it was one of your best friends and the idea of you and Brad together made you feel so uncomfortable.
You didn’t really have a crush on anyone but there was something about Peter that made you drawn to him. You didn’t know if that meant you had a crush or not but when the idea of him coming into your room and seeing you in a face mask in your pajamas made you feel embarrassed.
Before Betty could confront you with your lie,  you all turned your heads when you heard a knock at the door.
Your heart stopped and now you weren’t sure if you were more nervous to see Peter or Brad.
Betty calmly made her way over to the door even though you knew she was a nervous wreck on the inside. Once you heard the boys start to come in, you took off your facemask and rubbed in whatever moisturizing element it had left.
MJ had done the same but instead of throwing hers away, she made it into a soggy ball and threw it at Flash, who shrieked in disgust.
“ Did we miss the sexy pillow fight?” Brad asked as he smiled at you, almost like he hadn’t gotten mad earlier.
You decided to let whatever happened this morning slide but once you caught eyes with Peter, you felt anxious.
“ Hey, we’re twinning!” You said as you pointed to your Harry Potter pajama shorts and Peter’s sweatpants to try and calm your nerves,” I never pegged you as a Gryfindor Pete.”
Peter looked down at his pants and chuckled lightly,” I never thought I was either.”
He wasn’t going to lie, he wore those on purpose cause MJ had texted him that you had a similar pair in your luggage and he liked the idea of you two matching.
“ Is that alcohol? How did you sneak that onto the trip?” Cindy asked as she grabbed the bottle from Flash’s hands,” We could get in so much trouble.”
“ Only if we get caught,” Flash said as he opened up his backpack and brought out plastic cups.
He passed one around to Ned and Betty but when he came to Peter, he just stopped and scoffed,” Are you sure you can handle your liquor? The girls probably have some apple juice in the fridge for you to drink.”
Truth be told, Peter couldn’t handle his liquor at all but that was before he had powers. Now, he could forever say goodbye to hangovers and embarrassing drunk encounters.
It wasn’t like he was a big drinker pre or even post-spider bite but his body operated differently than a regular teenager so instead of passing out after two shots of Remy Martin, he could easily call himself a heavyweight.
“ I think I’ll be okay,” Peter said plainly as he practically ripped the stack of plastic cups out of Flash’s hand causing Flash to flinch.
Peter passed one to you as you hesitantly took it from his hands. You were second-guessing everything and you weren’t sure if it was the paranoia of getting caught or the mix of alcohol amongst the group.
Brad watched you from his seat on the ground and shook his head, letting out a tsk from his lips,” You’re not fooling anyone Y/N, you don’t drink.”
The hell was that supposed to mean?
Brad knew you all too well, you almost made it through high school without drinking (with the exception of your aunt’s wedding where they served champagne) and you didn’t want to ruin your streak now.
At the same time, peer pressure was real and while no one was asking you to drink, you still felt like you almost had to.
You shrugged and handed out your cup to Cindy so she could pour some of the Smirnoff into it,” There’s a first time for everything I guess.”
Everyone took a seat on the ground in a circle, with Peter on your left and MJ on your right. Brad and Betty both made a toast and before you knew it, you took a sharp sip of your drink and coughed after you swallowed it.
“ Yeah, okay that freaking sucks,” You cringed as you put your cup down beside you.
You felt better knowing that Flash and Betty both had the same reaction but you were a bit surprised how easily Peter took down the shot. Peter noticed you from the corner of his eye and pretended to shudder, even though it almost tasted like water to him.
After about a half an hour of mingling and drinking amongst yourselves, you could already feel the alcohol running through your system. You didn’t feel nauseous but if someone had asked you to spin around in a circle, it wouldn’t end pretty.
You watched from your spot on the office chair as Brad made his way over to you, smiling wide.
Here he goes, you thought as he sat down on the desk and looked down at you.
“Y/N, you look mad.”
“ I’m chill but clearly something upset you this morning,” You said as Brad shrugged plainly and took another sip,” what’s been up with you? You’ve been dodging me all day.”
From the outside, Brad looked fine like any other tipsy teenager but you knew better. There was something behind his eyes and you could literally see the gears spinning in his mind.
“ I can’t be protective of you?” He asked as you responded with a confused mm as you took another small sip of your drink,” obviously I’m talking about you know who.”
You watched Brad’s gaze fall over to Peter, who was sitting on the bed beside MJ and Cindy deep in a conversation. You rolled your eyes and you gave Brad an unconvinced look.
You were many things but being someone who needs protection was definitely not one of them. You knew Brad long enough to know that he had never cared about any guy being around you but for some reason, he was so threatened by Peter.
You knew if you said it out loud, Brad would just get madder like earlier but deep down, you knew he was jealous. What made you even more upset was that this jealousy practically came out of nowhere and you and Peter only started to hang out just this morning.
You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol or your pure frustration alone but once you opened your mouth, any chance of having a PC filter was gone,“ You don’t have to worry about Peter, he’s a good guy. I like him so do me a favor and stay in your lane.”
Before Brad even had the chance to reply, Flash grabbed the bottle off the dresser and sat down in the center of the hotel floor.
“ Lets play something cause I’m bored as hell. How about a friendly game of spin the bottle?” Flash suggested as everyone was adamant on playing something else,” you guys are so lame, would you rather play truth or dare?”
MJ poured herself another small amount and handed the bottle to Ned, who immediately passed the bottle away from him.
“ That’s so cliche,” MJ groaned as she looked down at her cup before taking it all down,” but I’m in. If you don’t want to answer or do the dare, you gotta take a shot no matter what.”
You shifted in your seat and mentally cursed. You hated truth or dare and frankly, it was the dumbest game to suggest especially since you knew that most of the group wouldn’t be down to do a dare that was too risky.
On the other hand, you were the type to always pick truth because you rather let people know your deep dark secrets than lick a toilet seat.
After a few rounds of Flash running through the hallway in just his underwear and of MJ switching clothes with Brad, it was Betty’s turn to pick who was next.
“ Okay, my turn... Ned,” Betty said, catching Ned off guard,” Truth or dare?”
Ned looked around and shrugged, looking visibly uncomfortable,” Truth I guess.”
“ Do you want to get back together with me?”
You were the only one to gasp and you covered your mouth in shock when you realized no one else had the same reaction,” Sorry I- you guys dated? Since when?”
“ Oh right I forgot to tell you, we were a couple during the Europe trip but it ended when the trip did. You really missed a lot,” Betty explained as she moved her attention back to Ned, waiting for a response.
Ned looked at Peter who only nudged him back in response which made the situation even more awkward. Instead of answering the question, Ned took down his shot like a champ and shook his head,” I’m not falling for that one.”
The room busted out in ooos as Betty’s face grew red. She quickly composed herself and poured herself another drink,” Your turn then.”
Ned looked at Peter as if he was asking for permission but Peter shook his head. Peter knew Ned wanted to be a good wingman but Ned tended to take the title too seriously and go overboard.
“ Okay then I’ll pick Peter,” Ned said as Peter’s hands started to feel even more sweaty than before,” Truth or Dare.”
If it was anyone else asking Peter, he could easily choose Truth and move on with the game but because Ned was in control and knew too much about his crush on you, he was worried that something would slip.
“ D-Dare,” Peter stuttered as he cleared his throat, his eyes locked on Ned as if he was pleading to have a normal dare that didn’t involve you.
Ned smiled and looked over in your direction as his plan started to come together.
“ I dare you to kiss the prettiest girl in the room.”
The room grew silent for only a moment before it bursted out in mixed conversations. All eyes were on Peter and he could feel how hot his ears were burning from embarrassment.
Peter tried to play it off and lifted his cup in the air,” I’m definitely not doing that.”
Cindy groaned from her seat and sat up on her knees,” Come on Peter, it’s just a kiss. It’s not like it’s your virginity or anything.”
“Cindy!” Betty smacked Cindy’s thigh sharply as if she was a child acting up in a grocery store.
“ Ow! I didn’t even say anything bad,” Cindy rubbed her thigh but glanced over at Peter,” I’m sorry but even if you are a virgin, that’s not a bad thing!”
You and Betty both gave Cindy a ‘Stop Talking’ look and you turned to Peter, his face flushed by now.
“ If he doesn’t want to do it, he shouldn’t be forced to,” Flash said as he leaned over and poured a shot out for Peter,” but just for the record, he totally would’ve kissed Y/N.”
“ N-No I wouldn’t!” Peter stammered, feeling completely mortified.
“ You hear that Y/N,” Brad smirked as he looked between you and Peter,” Peter doesn’t think you’re pretty. I on the other hand-”
“ That’s not true!” Peter shouted over Brad as he turned to you sympathetically,” Y/N I-I do think you’re pretty!”
“ Um, thanks Peter, you too,” you said simply as you tried to catch up to the conversation.
If you could be honest, you felt like you were on a five-second lag thanks to how much you had been drinking and you weren’t processing what everyone was saying as well as you should’ve. You weren’t really paying any attention to the conversation until you heard the word virginity and your name. What you did notice the whole night was Brad’s small attempts to get you a bit annoyed while flirting at the same time.
Since you two had been friends for so long, you knew how he operated and whenever Brad liked someone, he would always make little jabs as if girls fell for that kind of stuff. You needed to get him alone to set him straight because you didn’t want to ruin your friendship over his small crush on you.
You shook your head at Brad as he watched you pour yourself another shot that was almost triple of what you took earlier.
“ What were you saying Brad? About Y/N?” Cindy asked as you looked over to Brad who only shrugged.
“ Nothing I was just going to ask Y/N truth or dare,” Brad said as Ned shook his head.
“ No it’s Peter’s turn, those are the rules remember?” Ned insisted as he gave Peter a quick look.
Peter had nothing against Brad but Peter wasn’t stupid or blind either. He clearly had feelings and wasn’t going to waste any time going in for the kill. If it was any other guy then maybe Peter had a chance but Brad Davis? Not only did Brad have an advantage since you two were friends for so long but Brad was practically a clone of you.
You both had similar interests, identical backstories, and the same sense of humor so of course Peter felt threatened.
What was worse was that Peter could tell that Brad knew about Peter’s feelings for you so now, it was almost a competition for Brad.
“ Oh come on, he doesn’t mind,” Brad laughed as he looked at Peter and tilted his head to the side,” do you Pete?”
Peter only nodded as Peter took his shot and crossed his arms over his chest. You weren’t sure why you were feeling particularly bold today but when Brad asked you truth or dare, you chose dare.
“ I dare you to do seven minutes in heaven with me in the restroom.”
You leaned back onto your hands and tilted your head to the side. If it were any other day, you would’ve passed on the offer but this was just a game to Brad. He knew you would say no and that would prompt Brad to make even more jabs towards you for being a prude.
“ Okay Davis, I’ll bite,” You grabbed your cup and drank the whole thing before handing it to Peter,” see you guys on the other side.”
You got up from your seat as Brad followed you closely,” Don’t wait up guys.”
Peter clenched his jaw as Brad gave a thumbs up to Flash who was whooping in celebration.
Once the bathroom door had shut, Flash nudged Betty and stuck his tongue out,“ They’re gonna get down and dirty-”
“ Shut the hell up, Flash!” Peter didn’t even realize he had said it out loud until he noticed that everyone was staring at him.
Peter’s face flushed a deep red and sighed deeply before grabbing his phone and got up from his seat,” It’s late. I’m going to bed.”
Everyone watched as Peter practically stomped out of the room and was fuming from head to toe.
Once you were in the bathroom, you sat up on the counter and looked up at Brad, who just locked the door.
“ I know what you’re doing Brad,” You said as Brad leaned against the counter next to you,” you’ve done this move before on Katelyn Gomez at the homecoming after-party. I’m not stupid.”
Brad smiled innocently as he ran his fingers through his hair,” I have no idea what you’re talking about. Can’t I just have some quiet time with my girl?”
You let out a dry laugh and shook your head, you really couldn’t believe what was happening. You heard the main hotel room door slam shut which made you turn your head to the door. You didn’t hear anything follow up so you turned your attention back to Brad.
“ That’s my point, I’m not your girl,” You motioned between the two of you with your hand,” this is not a thing and will never be a thing.”
Brad acted shocked and placed a hand over his heart as if he was in pain,” Why do you love breaking my heart?”
“ You’re my best friend Brad which is why this can never happen. I mean come on, my mom used to bathe us in the same tub when we were younger!” You exclaimed as Brad shooed your hand away.
“ Okay fine, we have history but there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m not asking you to marry me I’m just asking for a chance,” Brad sighed as he moved over and leaned closer to you,” are you really saying that you don’t have feelings for me?”
You looked down at Brad’s hand and back up to his face. Brad looked at you longingly with puppy dog eyes but you were smart and you knew better than to fall for it.
“ I have feelings for you... but not the kind you have for me. I love you Brad but as a friend. I trust you more than anyone else I know and I like being a part of your life,” You watched as Brad nodded softly,” our friendship is so important to me and I don’t want to ruin it.”
For the first time ever, it was like you had left Brad speechless. You could tell how hurt he was and it made your heartache. Brad was never someone to take things so seriously, especially if it was with a girl. Brad could be rude at times and a little too sarcastic for your liking but so were you.
“ I’m sorry,” you said, trying to interrupt the silence between the two of you.
Brad shook his head and bit his lip, a habit that he had been doing since he was six whenever he was nervous,” You don’t have to apologize. I’ve been a dick to you lately and I’m sorry...Can I ask you for something? It’s okay if you say no.”
You nodded and squeezed Brad’s hand,” Yeah, anything.”
“ I know you want us to be friends and I respect that but...do you think I could kiss you?”
You tensed up as you shifted against the counter,” I don’t know Brad..”
“ I’m not asking to make out, I’m just asking for a quick peck on the cheek,” Brad stammered as you nervously bit the inside of your cheek,” pretty please?”
You thought things over in your head but all you could think about was Peter. What would he say if he found out? You shook your head and tried to get Peter out of your head, why would Peter care? Better yet, why were you thinking of Peter right now?
“ Okay, but only if it’s a cheek kiss.”
“ Deal...okay can you close your eyes?” Brad asked as you rolled your eyes but did so anyone.
You sat there with your eyes closed and shook your head,” You’re so weird Davis.”
After a few seconds, you felt Brad move off the counter and scooted between your legs. You felt him place his hands next to your thighs and leaned closer to you,” Ready?”
“ Whatever man just do it. God this is so weird,” you mumbled as you heard Brad count down from 5 to 1.
When he got to you, you expected to feel his lips press up against yours but when you felt his lips against yours, you opened your eyes in shock and pushed him away with your hands.
“ What the hell Brad! You said it was a cheek kiss!” You shouted as you wiped your lips with the back of your hand.
“ I-I’m sorry” Brad backed away from you and rushed for the door handle,” I’m going to go.”
Brad didn’t even look at you as walked out of the door, leaving you alone in the bathroom. You couldn’t believe your best friend just kissed you and you were somewhat thankful you felt nothing but disgust from it.
Peter. You rubbed the sides of your temple in frustration as you thought of what would happen if Peter found out. Your heart sunk as you thought of why you didn’t want Peter to know what had happened between you and Brad.
Damn it, you had a crush on Peter. And you were pretty sure he felt the same way.

“You’re only mine.” -Kai Anderson (AHS)
Warning: smut, degrading, rough sex, swearing
Summary: you are in an open relationship with Kai
Tumblr media
You and Kai have been “seeing” each other for 2 weeks, but it was no where near monogamous. You never had an open relationship before, but you liked trying new things. Kai would flirt with girls and sometimes make out with them whenever you two would go out. Then when you guys get home, you would have rough sex and get an uber. He didn’t like sleeping in the same bed with someone, and when you try to ask him about it he would just avoid the question.
Winter’s party was tonight, Kai and you were going to go together but you both were still allowed to go off with other people. Kai would never hesitate with the girls, but you always felt uncomfortable to flirt with the guys, but that wasn’t the plan for tonight. Winter had hot guy friends, and Kai knew that, so he when you got there he didn’t jump in immediately, he kept his arm around your waist. You walked away, making Kai release you, and you noticed a cute guy in the corner with a red solo cup in his hand. Although you couldn’t see Kai, you knew he was slightly upset, which just fueled you even more.
With heavy flirting and some playful touching, you were on your way upstairs with ‘cup guy’. You looked for a room together, but every room was occupied by two people groping each other. You stopped searching, “We can go back to my place.” Although Kai drove you, you weren’t going to bother him, because he was probably in one of those rooms.
“Are you sure?” You weren’t sure but you were tired of not having any fun in this open relationship with Kai.
“Yeah, why not? Do you have a car, if not I can call an uber.”
“I don’t, my friend drove me.”
You felt a hand on your back, “I can drive you guys.” You recognized the voice.
“Uh, Kai this is Elliot. You don’t have to, I’ll call an ub-” Kai cut you off,
“Nonsense, I’ll give you a free ride.”
Elliot and you sat in the back while Kai drove. He was grabbing your thighs, higher and higher, which made you giggle. You did it on purpose almost, to make Kai feel some kind of jealousy. You noticed that you were going the wrong way, “Kai, this isn’t the way to my apartment. Do you want my address again?”
“I thought it would be fun to have some drinks at my place instead. I want to get to know Elliot better.” You frowned, this wasn’t going to be fun.
Once arrived at Kai’s house, he poured three shots, and took a seat next to you, so close that Elliot noticed. “So uh are you guys siblings or friends?” You didn’t want to tell Elliot that you were in an open relationship.
“I’m her boyfriend.” Kai said proudly, and my eyes widened with Elliot.
“You have a boyfriend???!!!”
“No no.” You tried to explain but Kai interrupted you, “We fuck each other and other people too.”
“Do you watch each other or...” Elliot had a lot of questions and you wanted to be the one answering them.
“No, we don’t. So we should actually leave for my place if we want to do that. My car is here.” You looked for your keys.
“Come on guys, we can have some fun together.” Elliot and you knew exactly what Kai was talking about. You have participated in a threesome before, but you were left out.
“I’m not gay.” Elliot said with no hesitation.
“Ughhh labels labels labels. Elliot you just do what you are comfortable with, you don’t have to touch me at all. I’m only here to add some excitement.” After you all agreed, Kai offered to do it in the basement.
You started making out with Elliot on the couch, and Kai watched for a moment before massaging your back. You stopped with Elliot to turn around to Kai, this mouth was familiar, it already knew your tongue. Elliot stood up and got into his underwear, once you noticed, you did the same. Elliot sat on the couch waiting for you, you straddled him and felt his erection through the thin fabric between the two of you. Kai was getting upset, and you were grinding on the man under you.
“Fuck. I can already feel how wet you are through your panties.” You smirked against his lips, while snaking your hand to the hem of his underwear. Kai noticed and tried to stop you, “BOOOO! This is going too slow. In my experience, threesomes don’t have a lot of foreplay. Hey man, I don’t think you want to get her pregnant, there are some condoms in that drawer over there.” Elliot got up, and walked to where Kai was pointing. You were getting annoyed, and Kai didn’t care, instead he grabbed your hair with one hand and started rubbing your clit with his other hand. It felt so good, Kai knew you and what you liked. “Oh my god, Kai. That feels so good.”
Kai pulled your hair tighter and kissed with so much force. He got up and pulled your panties off and threw them aside, you giggled. As he was about to connect his lips to your throbbing clit, Elliot pushed him aside, “It’s ok man, I got it. You can go if you want.”
Although the jealousy that you caused him earlier was fun, you felt bad for him now. Elliot was about to start going down on you, but that wasn’t something you were paying attention to, Kai looked sad but confused. Kai stood up, “Get out.”
Elliot stopped and stood up too, “I thought you said you wanted to have fun, make up your mind before I fuck your bitch.”
You could feel Kai’s anger radiating from his body. “Kai, just relax. Elliot I think it would be best for you to leave.” You knew what Kai was capable of. Kai looked at you, you were filled with fear.
“Whatever you guys are so fucking lame.” Elliot grabbed his clothes and left.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that he was going to be like tha-“ Kai cut you off.
“Get on your knees.” You could tell that he was aroused and that he wanted you to pleasure him. You got on your knees.
“Open your mouth and keep it open whore.” He was mad, which made the wetness between your legs grow. You grabbed his belt and he grabbed your hair tightly, “And look at me when I fuck your face. Got it.” You nodded.
Once he was exposed, he filled your mouth with every inch of his hard cock. He thrusted in and out slowly but deep making you gag. “You are mine, understand? That mouth, that pussy, your hands, everything is mine. I’m the only person you can pleasure.”
You were getting turned on by his words, you nodded while looking at him with tears in your eyes because he was deep in your throat. He pulled out, and grabbed your neck making you stand up.
“Speak slut.” You were choking once again and you tried your best to say, “I’m yours, all yours.”
He bent you down on the arm of the couch, making you expose your wet core. He thrusted into you, with his hand on your throat. You felt every inch, making you moan loudly. “Say my name!”
You obeyed, “Kai! Fuck!” You could already feel your climax coming. “I’m going to cum!”
Kai thrusted faster than before, making your thighs tremble. He was pulling your hair, and grunting as he released, so did you. He thrusted a little more before pulling out and walking upstairs. It seemed he was still mad but you followed him still naked.
You found him in his bedroom, “So I’m gonna go.” You assumed this was going to be like other times.
“No. I just told you are mine, and you are going to stay with me till I say so.” You smiled and he pulled you into his bed.
“Are we only going to see each other now?” He answered you quickly.
“If I see you with another person, I’ll kill them with no hesitation.”

365 So Fresh Part 5
Tumblr media
Genre: Angst/Fluff/Humor
Word Count: 2,578
Warnings: Curse words, smoking, poly, mentions of smut, character death?
Pairings: Triple H x Reader
Summary: You just wanted to take a nap wile waiting for your friends, never did you expect the car you were sleeping in to be stolen and you would end up going for a road trip with a guy who had a gambling problem, a girl who committed a murder, and a guy who seems to just hate his life. You especially didn’t expect to have feelings for them??
Hui called an uber and we waited outside of the club for a few minutes. Once we climbed into the car, we were off. My leg was shaking in anticipation, I could hear the other three, whispering in the backseat. As soon as the car came to halt, the four of us ran out. Laughing and stumbling we made it to our room. Hui pushed the door open and the realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I had started developing an attachment to these three individuals and it hasn’t even been a week. “Y/N!” I heard Hyuna giggle from inside. I snapped out of my thoughts, went inside, and closed the door behind me. It all went by in a blur. All of our lips ghosting over each other’s bodies. Our clothes flying in all directions. The screams, the groans, the degradation as well as the praise. Before I knew it, I was exhausted. The last thing registering in my head was the warmth of a body covering my own and then everything went black.
I groaned as I tried to sit up but couldn’t as I was being held down by a heavy arm around my torso. I blinked a few times, trying to get my eyes to focus. The room slowly came together and I noticed it was early in the morning. I glanced at the clock on the wall, it was nearly 5 am. I then became increasingly aware of the two bodies I was laying in between. Hui had his front pressed against my back, his face in my neck, softly breathing, and an arm around my waist. While Hyuna was facing me, sound asleep. Her chest which had been exposed to the cool air around the room was slowly rising. Images from last night came tumbling into my head all at once. Being kissed by all three of them at the same time, throwing my head back as the feeling of Hui’s dick slipped in and out of me, the feeling of Hyojong’s lips pressed against my neck as he murmured praises and groans as Hyuna pleased him with her mouth. It brought a smile to my face. I moved Hui’s arm and sat up. The blanket sliding off of my own chest. I looked down at him, brushing the hair out of his face softly. I looked over to Hyuna’s side, only to realize Hyojong was nowhere to be found. As quietly as I could, I slipped out of the bed. I pulled on my underwear and grabbed Hui’s button-up. I walked into the living room, now semi-dressed and there he was. Hyojong sat on the couch, his head leaned back as he took a drag of what looked like a blunt. His eyes were closed and he was shirtless. Though he was thin, he had a nice build. My eyes raked over his body and all the bruises forming across his chest, probably from last night. He opened one eye before closing it again, “You know it’s rude to stare.” My cheeks burned slightly at the fact that I was caught. I shook my head as I made my way over to him. I plopped down on the space next to him, leaned my head on his shoulder, and sighed. He placed one hand on my exposed thigh and used his other hand to take another drag. He exhaled, “Couldn’t sleep?” I asked. He shook his head. A few minutes passed in silence. I picked my head up, placed a hand over his, and brought the blunt to my lips. He watched me carefully. His eyes flickering down to my lips where the blunt sat. I pushed his hand away and before I could exhale, he brought his lips to my own. Gently he used his tongue to open my mouth, causing me to release the smoke into his mouth. He softly groaned at the feeling, I moved his hand from my thigh and straddled him. Hui’s shirt rose up slightly, exposing my underwear. I felt Hyojong shift under me and I assumed he placed the now dead blunt on the table since both of his hands came to rest on my hips. The kiss wasn’t too needy but it was hard. Neither of us tried to take it further than just making out and I was okay with that. I parted, trying to catch my breath as Hyojong moved his head down towards my neck, leaving soft kisses. I let my hands rake through his hair, causing him to smile against my skin. He rested his chin on my shoulder as I laid my head against him. It was a soft moment compared to what had happened the night before. Soon I found myself drifting again.
When I awoke again, it felt like a different day. Except it wasn’t, Hyojong and I were still in the living room cuddled against each other. I lifted my head just in time to see Hyuna walk out of the room wearing her underwear and one of Hyojong’s shirts. “There you two are.” she smiled. I nodded at her while climbing off of Hyojong who seemed to have also fallen asleep, “Hey.” I yawned. I opened my mouth but stopped when I spotted Hui coming out of the room, pulling another one of his shirts on. “Oh! There’s my button-up.”  He walked over to me placing his hands on my hips. “Good morning,” I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck. “My shirt looks really good on you,” he said as he pecked my lips. “Oh yeah?” I murmured. Before Hui could say anything else, Hyuna lightly smacked my ass, “Come on, get dressed, I’m hungry.” A little while later we were all dressed now and climbing into the car. The windows were rolled down, the music from the radio was playing loudly, laughter and song filled the air. It was beautiful. We ended up getting the food to go. Now we were sitting on one of the many benches surrounding the park. I didn’t give much input, I was just happy to be there and observe. I didn’t feel left out though. After we all ate and threw the food away, Hyuna reached for my hand “Come on.” she pulled me towards the swing set. We sat on them lightly swinging back and forth, that was until the boys decided to come up behind us and start pushing. It wasn’t long before Hui and Hyojong turned it into a game of who can swing the highest. Hyuna and I were just laughing and screaming the higher we got. I felt free. Eventually, the swinging came to a halt and we made our way back to the car. “Hey, I know of a place,” Hyojong spoke as he got into the passenger seat. Hui shrugged, getting behind the wheel “Lead the way.”
I looked out the window as buildings zoomed by soon turning into nothingness. Hyuna was resting against my shoulder. I looked over at her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “Seriously Hyojong where the fuck are we?” Hui mumbled. We were in as some would put it “the middle of nowhere” I had no clue where we were going but Hyojong didn’t seem to mind. “Just trust me,” he said, “You’re going to lead us out here to kill us aren’t you?” Hui grumbled. “Turn right here,” Hyojong replied. “You didn’t deny it.” I chimed in.
“There’s literally no road.”
“You’re still driving.”
“I don’t even know where I’m going!”
“I do.”
“We’re going to die.”
“Stop being dramatic.”
“It’s just trees!”
“I’m aware.”
They went back and forth like this but Hui didn’t stop following Hyojong’s directions. “Okay now stop here.” Hui stopped the car and turned to the other male, “You brought us to look at trees.” Hyojong didn’t reply to that and got out of the car. Hui soon followed him. I shook Hyuna lightly, she had fallen asleep. She stirred and looked up at me. “Come on, apparently we’re here,” I told her. We both got out. “We go on foot from here,” Hyojong spoke. Hui looked at me, “We’re going to die.” I rolled my eyes and walked past him. After a few minutes of walking, Hyojong stopped. Once we all reached him we saw what he was looking at. It was a creek. There were moss-covered rocks which caused the water to form little waterfalls. The birds were chirping from above, some even drinking from the water. It was a sight. “Wow.” Hyuna breathed. Hyojong turned around looking at Hui “Told you I knew where I was going.” “You’re going to drown us,” he mumbled in reply. We all took seats by the creek. No one said anything for a while. We all just sat there appreciating nature. It wasn’t until a rabbit came into view that Hyojong broke the silence. “Isn’t it funny how life comes out differently than what you expect?” He laughed bitterly. He leaned back on his hands, head tilted up. “I wanted to be a veterinarian.” We didn’t reply so he continued “I wanted to help out, take care of and treat animals. God knows how many times I’ve tried to kill myself. How shitty my life turned out. Before this week, I couldn’t tell you the last time I had felt anything. It’s all been so meaningless. Maybe our meeting wasn’t.” “I wanted to be an entertainer.” Hui suddenly started. “I used to play piano with my mom, haven’t touched one since she left. All I ever wanted to do was make people happy by doing what I loved which was singing and playing the piano. I wonder if she still plays…” he trailed off. “I’m not sure exactly what I wanted in life, I ended up a hairdresser which I’m not too mad about but I always felt like there was something missing,” Hyuna spoke. They looked over at me but I didn’t know what to say. “I never gave anything much thought,” I mumbled, embarrassed that I didn’t have a “dream” that I wanted. “I just kind of went with things as they came. Never was truly passionate about something. I just exist, I don’t live.” I shrugged. It was true all of my interests had been fleeting, I moved on to the next thing fairly quickly. We were quiet again, everyone seemed to be thinking deeply about how their life had taken a turn. I thought back again. Growing up I had my problems, but I figured everyone did. I left my mom and the town I grew up in not long after I turned 18. Once in Seoul, I found that Bora had been looking for a roommate. Through her, I met Wooseok and Hyolyn. Yet I was never really there. I would listen to their stories of adventures and parties they went to. I hardly participated, and it wasn’t that I didn’t want to, it was that I didn’t know how. I didn’t know how to let loose and be comfortable in my own skin. The voice in the back of my head always had something to say and made me feel unsure. And that’s when I realized I hadn’t heard that voice this whole week. It was just me. As I looked out at the three of my newly found...friends, I smiled. A smile that I wasn’t faking, a smile that was as real as our surroundings. Hui nudged me with his foot. “What’s got you all smiley?” he chuckled. “I don’t know, everything, this, us.” I shrugged.
I don’t think anyone of us knew how much time had passed as we sat there in the woods, talking and listening. What we did know was that the sun had started to set somewhere behind the trees. So we got up, dusted ourselves off, and made our way back to the car. As regularly Hui drove, I got into the passenger seat, while Hyuna and Hyojong got into the back. We drove for a while to get back into the main part of town. “So what are we going to do tonight?” Hui clapped his hands together. “We could go to an arcade?” Hyuna spoke up. “Another bar?”Hyojong answered. Before I could say anything, lights flashed behind us. “Shit,” Hui mumbled. I looked in the rear mirror to see a police car driving closely behind us. The logical thing would’ve been to pull over. But seeing as the car was stolen, Hyuna was wanted for murder, and I was registered as “missing”, Hui did the next best thing. He made a sharp left into an alleyway and sped up. The police must not have seen it coming as they drove right by. Though I had a feeling this wouldn’t be the last time we saw them. As Hui continued to zoom past the streets in an attempt to lose the cops, Hyojong rolled the window down. His hair danced in the wind and he smiled. I decided to roll down my windows too. The wind was cool and refreshing. With the speed of the car and wind blowing against my face, I laughed. When lights flashed again but this time from in front of us, I laughed more. Hui made another sharp turn, narrowly missing another car. This time the cops were prepared as they made a turn equally as sharp in order to follow us. This time everyone felt the adrenaline. Hyojong climbed halfway out of the window and screamed. He then proceeded to flip off the police before getting pulled back in by a giggling Hyuna. Hui then turned onto a parking garage, the cop car that had been following us soon turned into three. Soon we made it to the top of the structure and we all climbed out messily. Still laughing, we ran over to the edge. “Wow. It’s beautiful.” I said as I looked out to the city lights. The other three nodded in agreement. We finally heard the sirens behind us and car doors slamming. One of the officers brought out a megaphone and yelled something about our hands. I couldn’t hear clearly, my ears were ringing. None of us turned around or even acknowledge the police. We all just held hands and stared out into the night. “Together?” Hyuna yelled. Without missing a beat, the remaining of us yelled back “Together!” I heard a faint “No” somewhere in a distance but it was too late. We had jumped.  I glanced over to my side in time to see that Hyuna, Hyojong, and Hui were indeed there. I wasn’t alone. I looked up to see the stars and once again, smiled. I was going to be one of them soon. Falling is a weird feeling. Knowing that you’ll soon hit the ground is a weird feeling. But it’s free. It’s all apart of the journey in the end. And with one final glance at the moon, I closed my eyes. Until I felt no more.
When I opened my eyes again, everything was white. The deafening sound of silence was all to be heard. That was until I saw Hyuna appear, followed by Hyojong and Hui. They were all smiling and gestured at me. “Well come on!” Hyuna giggled. My smile grew as I sprinted in their direction, their arms awaiting me. I was home. And then we walked. We walked until our surroundings slowly disappeared and we were nothing but a speck.

The Years Have Caught Up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carlisle took a breath, wincing when he entered the retirement home. He felt his family's eyes piercing into his back, it took all his strength to not look back, he knew what he would see. So he closed the glass door and walked to the front desk, flashing a smile at the lady.
"Hello, I'm here to see Y/N Cullen?" Immediately the woman at the desk's eye's seemed to sadden in pity, he stopped his wince.
"Of course, i presume you're Mr Cullen?" She asked, eyes turning to her computer. The blonde male nodded slightly. "Just wait for a minute, a nurse is with her at the moment."
The doctor nodded and went to sink into a chair behind him. If his heart could, then it would be wilting. He stared at the wall, it covered in dusty floral paper that was slowly peeling off to reveal sickly white walls.
"She's been like this since she got here, the nurses have tried to talk to her, but she hasn't reacted to any of them."
Carlisle looked towards the girl in the hospital bed. Her E/C eyes stared hopelessly at the window, her lips pressed tightly together and her jaw tensing. Shaking, her hands lay on her lap. Carlisle stepped into the room, giving the nurse a smile before closing the door.
"Hello, my name's Carlisle Cullen, What's yours?" Of course he already knew her name, but that familiarity would comfort her.
She turned her head, her eyes widening slightly when spotting him.
"I'm Y/N."
Carlisle smiled, coming to sit next to her bed.
"What about your second name?"
"L/N,"
"That's lovely." Carlisle looked into her eyes. "And how old are you Y/N?"
It took her a moment, her eyes glued to his face.
"Nine,"
"Mr Cullen?"
Carlisle shook himself from his trance, smiling at the lady at the desk.
"She's ready for you, room five, just down there."
He nodded at her, getting up from his chair at making his way to the room.
The large golden letter on the old door teased him. He could hear the faint heartbeat in the room, the ratty breathing and shallow coughs.
His cool hand met the warmer metal and his hand jerked, the door giving a gentle click and he finally entered.
Carlisle opened the door, the small suitcase held tight in his hands.
"This is our house," Carlisle grinned at Y/N as he set her suitcases down. "My wife is in the process of decorating your room at the moment, and our kids are still at school, you'll meet them all later though."
Carlisle watched as the girl looked at the large living room. Her E/C eyes sparkled in wonder.
"Carlisle?" His wife walked down the stairs. "Is that her?"
Esme faked her surprise, gasping.
"Oh! It is you, hello dear!" Esme grinned towards her. "Sorry i didn't hear you coming. I'm decorating your room at the moment, it looks absolutely stunning! Carlisle mentioned you're a fan of mint green, so i added a little bit of it, do you want to go see it?"
Y/N looked his way unsurly. He gave her a smile, patting her shoulder gently before pushing her into Esme's delicate arms.
He watched as they climbed the stairs, his grin stretching his face.
"Carlisle, is that really you?"
He fell out of his day dream and into the real world. His eyes met emotionless E/C and a chill ran down his spine.
"Y/N..." he watched as the elderly ladies eyes sparkled in wonder.
"Oh Carlisle! I've missed you, i haven't seen you in ages!"
Carlisle winced.
"I came by last week, Y/N,"
Y/N rolled her eyes, grinning at him.
"Silly! I would remember!" She went to get up, her two legs shaking at the sudden pressure.
Carlisle zoomed by her side, helping her stay upright.
"It's alright sweetheart, I'll come to you." He delicately set her on the sofa, sitting next to her.
Y/N whinned from her spot in bed, a cool towel wetting her forehead.
"I know, Sweetheart. Just relax." Carlisle muttered, rubbing her arm.
"When can i have more medicine?" The girl sniffed.
Carlisle glanced at the clock.
"Soon, i promise." He assured.
Y/N threw her head back and groaned.
"I hate being sick!" She growled causing Carlisle to laugh.
"I don't know one person who enjoys it," Carlisle repositioned the flannel on her head.
Suddenly his phone rang, vibrating loudly on the table.
He picked it up and read the contact.
He smiled at the girl apologetically before leaving the room.
Y/N huffed, looking around the dimly lit room. Her eyes caught sight of the tv remote, a sudden urge to watch her favourite show consume her.
She leaned over, reaching over towards the controller, her fingers skimmed the plastic and accidentally pushing it further away. Y/N groaned, stretching out further.
With no success, Y/N began to throw the covers off and sit up, wincing at the feel of her body burning.
Her feet met with freezing cold floors and as soon as her toes grazed the surface, she was tucked back in bed with the remote control in her hands.
Carlisle Cullen stood infront of her, blonde eyebrow raised and a smirk painted on his lips.
Carlisle smiled down at her, trying to ignored the mist in her eyes.
"You always look so handsome, Carlisle!" Y/N sighed, touching his cheek. He chuckled. "Of course thats expected, i raised such a beautiful boy!"
Carlisle grinned, playing stupid to the sharp dagger that pierced his heart.
"Look over here, Y/N!" Esme stated, raising her camera to the girl's face.
Carlisle watched Y/N, her beautiful F/C dress blew behind her. His eyes hardened at the male beside her, his heart squeezing.
"Ok Mum! I think that's enough!" Y/N laughed, breaking away from her date to pull her into a hug.
"Oh you look so beautiful! I bet Carlisle is so mad right now!" Both girls giggled before Y/N turned to her date.
"I'm just gonna talk to my dad," with a nod, she walked to him, being engulfed in a large hug.
"I don't see why you can't just stay indoors," the doctor mumbled, rolling his eyes.
"This is Prom, Dad. You only go through it once!" Y/N laughed.
"But you're not grown up enough yet. Plus, that boy's looking at you funny,"
"Oh shush! It's cause he's my date!"
Carlisle sighed, taking in the girl's appearance.
He crushed her into his chest, his mouth coming to rest near her ear.
"I raised such a beautiful girl!"
Carlisle raised an arm, putting it over Y/N's shoulders and gently hugging her to his side.
"Do you remember Stephen?" Y/N mumbled, her eyes seemed to stare out the window, but Carlisle believed she was looking past it, at something even he can't see.
"He was your Husband, do you remember?" Y/N hummed slightly.
"I see him sometimes, at the end of my bed. I try to tell the nurses but they don't believe me." Y/N looked at him. "I hear them whispering at my door sometimes. They say stuff."
Carlisle raised a brow.
"What type of stuff?"
Her eyes fall to his chest, her eyebrows scrunched together in thought. She looked back up.
"...i can't seem to remember..."
Carlisle watched his girl dance across the floor, her pure white dress circling around her. The man she was dancing with cradled her so delicately, it made Carlisle sigh.
"They're absolutely stunning, are they not?" Esme joined him, linking their arms and cuddled into his side.
"Absolutely stunning," he agreed, his golden eyes following the two people.
The family of Cullen's glanced at him, eyes softening towards him.
"I can feel your eyes of pity and I'm getting tired of it," he sighed, turning to them.
"Sorry," Alice stated, glancing to the couple. "She seems really happy, don't you think?" Alice looked towards her husband.
"I can feel it." He shrugged at his family "She feels happy...yet..." the group perk up and tensed. "There's sadness hidden deep underneath it."
Carlisle was out of his seat, tapping the groom on the shoulder and replacing him with himself.
Y/N relaxed into his body, her head landing on his chest.
"Jasper told me something interesting..." she tensed. "Why the sadness, sweetheart?"
"I just..." she looked at him. "I can't help but feel it. You know? I--i guess it's because i just can't fathom that I'm leaving you guys. Now i married Stephen, we're moving to our own place and starting our own family. And--and I'll be leaving you guys."
Carlisle rested his chin on her head.
"No matter where you are in the world, you'll never leave us, we'll always be here for you,"
Y/N's chin began to wobble and tears filled her eyes.
"I'm not talking about moving house..."
"It's ok not to remember," the blonde assured, his fingers digging into the thin locks of grey hair. "It's alright, just close your eyes and rest...I'm sure it will come to you."
"Are you sure? You're not going to leave while I'm asleep are you?"
Carlisle shook his head.
"Never,"
"Hey dad? Can you go get Jackson's milk bottle?"
Carlisle zoomed into the kitchen and back into the front room with bottle in hand.
Y/N sighed in relief, putting the tit in his mouth.
Rosalie swept in, watching the new mother's eyes droop.
"You go get rest, I've got this!" She grinned, taking him into gentle arms.
Y/N thanked her, going to sit on the other sofa and closing her eyes.
"You alright?" Carlisle asked, sifting a hand through the thick H/C locks.
The woman shook her head. She jolted when she felt a pluck on her scalp.
"Ow! What was that?"
"Nothing my dear, go to sleep." Y/N glared and the vampire before closing her eyes. Soft snores quickly filled the silence.
"Carlisle?" Rosalie called questionably, her hands supporting the baby's head.
He raised his hand, revealing a transparent stand of white hair.
The Vampire's eyes locked.
Carlise sat in silence, his girl's head resting on his chest with her eyes closed and her hair dangling infront of her face.
The doctor could hear the moment everything stopped working. He could hear as everything inside her began to shut down.
Her head drooped, now it lay on his stomach, her body no longer moving to get comfortable.
The blonde closed his eyes, trying to stop the burning in his eyes.

Nate and Dave Ch. 12
I feel like weekends are particularly exciting ever since Dave started hanging out with me, like a week or two ago. Is it bad that I already forgot how life was without a werewolf soulmate looking out for me? I feel like I’ve known him for my entire life, and he just moved to the town like two years ago.
Back to what I was saying. My ‘dates’ with Dave consisted of going to the forest and just having a good laugh, or staying at his/my room and cuddling a lot. At school, it was a bit more difficult, due to reasons you may already know.
But, we’re coming to terms with our relationship and veeeeery slowly, we’re opening up for the public.
That’s also what I had planned for today’s date. A good sunny Saturday noon, perfect for spending the day with the guy I love in a public place like the shopping street.
Besides, I’d like to resume my little investigation project. I already know about Dave’s behavior at school, he acts like he owns the place and he pretty much does. At the forest, he apparently feels at ‘his element’ with his inner wolf. In the bedroom, or more specifically, in the bed, he’s a king.
Out in the real world… He’s still good. Surprisingly, the guy was apparently born to be the best.
I didn’t put much effort on my looks. A plain purple shirt and some jeans would do the trick. When the time to leave had come, Dave waited for me in his car in front of my house. The jock ditched his varsity jacket in favor of a black tank top and sunglasses. He looked pumped up, so I wondered if he just left the gym or something.
“Ready to hit the forest? Pretty ready to fetch the stick today” He said, as I entered the car and sat down. He pulled me in for a kiss, before finishing with a swift “Or I could fetch your stick, bruh… If ya catch my drift.”
“Well, while that sounds interesting” I could see his smile growing a little. “… I thought about having a change of plans. Wanna go to the shopping street we got your collar at?”
“Uh… yeah… but I thought we were trying to avoid being together out in public?” The jock asked, confusion was pretty clear in his voice. “I mean, not that I care, just don’t want you to feel uncomfortable—”
“And I’m not! If anything, I don’t think I’ve been pretty fair with you by asking to keep our thing a secret. And we’re both adults so… there shouldn’t be a problem with us just… hanging out and doing goofy boyfriend stuff?” I replied. I wasn’t lying, I did feel bad sometimes when I thought about how I would feel if my boyfriend asked me to act like I didn't know him.
And luckily, Dave wasn’t going to complain. He took off the sunglasses and looked at me with his beautiful blue puppy eyes.
“I love doing goofy boyfriend stuff with you,” He said, the flirty tone returning. “and if anyone tries to hurt you, I’ll protect you. Nothing to worry ‘bout, it’ll be a perfect date!” Dave put on his glasses once again, before grabbing the wheel and starting to drive away from my house.
‘Okay, too late to go back now. I’m doing this for him!’ I thought, reassuring myself that it was the right thing to do. Of course, we could wait until high school is over in a few couple months, but I felt like Dave would love to have me around during his ‘king of the school’ years. Kinda sure he’ll take back that role at college, but maybe it’ll ease the ‘blow’ for everyone when we go to the prom together?
…Not like anyone will say anything though, the big guy has the whole place on his paw!
Geez, being the soulmate of the alpha jock in school is the best thing ever. I just love him so much!
------
We got around the shopping street quite fast. Dave is a good driver, and focuses on the driveway to avoid causing an incident. Every time we stop at a light, he likes to take a few moments to check on how I’m doing or to make some nice chit chat.
The jock parked once we arrived, and reached over to grab his stuff at the glove compartment (Taking the chance to steal a quick kiss from me before hopping out of the car).  I smiled, and followed him out of the car.
As any other normal Saturday, the shopping street was pretty crowded. Different girls and guys going around in couples or groups, some people handing out pamphlets or performing in the middle of the street. You could even see people dressed as famous cartoon characters and taking pictures with the children.
Dave intertwined his hand with mine. It gave me a bit of the chills, causing me to pull back and leave his hand there.
I couldn’t see Dave’s eyes due to the sunglasses, but he seemed to be sad and confused at my sudden change of mind. “I-I’m… sorry…” I said, before grabbing Dave’s hand again, and holding on to it.
“Everythin’ okay?” The werewolf asked, looking at me with concern. I nodded, slowly. “Yeah, just a reflex. Still haven’t gotten used to this, huh.”
We both sighed in relief, starting to walk towards the shops past the parking lot.
I wished I could see his eyes through the sunglasses though. Not gonna lie, his attire was pretty hot (Kind of inappropriate due to the incoming winter, but I assumed he wasn’t cold at all). And I feel like I could have done better myself…
“What’re we doing today, bruh?” He asked, as we walked away from the car.
I haven’t thought about that. Shit.
I looked around, quickly. I couldn’t come up with anything good, and just threw the first thing that clung to my mind. “I thought we could… buy some new clothes…?” It was lame and I wanted the earth to eat me.
But, Dave agreed with me. “Sure. Sounds like good fun.” I couldn’t tell if he was joking, but the jockboy just stared at me and waited for my reaction.
“Wait, you’re okay with it?”
He nodded, his smile growing bigger. “I mean, Lee used to drag me with her and make me hold her bags. I won’t mind if my soulmate wants to do the same, and I love spending time with you so… I think it’ll be fun, babe.”
Okay, I’m not a big ‘fashion fan’ or whoever it’s called. As you may have seen, I don’t pay much attention to my appearance besides the normal stuff to being seen as a respectable townie.
You’ll usually see me wearing nerdy tees with cartoons or jokes printed on them, paired with some jeans or shorts depending on the time of the year. I don’t have a body to show off, being pretty average with my not-really-big belly but not thin either.
Dave, on the other hand, looked good with anything. He does have the body to show off, and I assume that was helping his confidence quite a bit (Maybe besides the point that he can crack anyone’s skull if he gets mad enough at them).
We entered a men clothing store. The place was pumping some background music, but it wasn’t loud enough to be annoying and make me not hear my own thoughts.
The people behind the counter barely noticed us, until a woman that seemed to be in her thirties waved and said something like “Hey guys, looking for something in particular?”
“Not really, just gonna check around with my bruh” Dave answered, giving me a good smile before taking off his sunglasses and placing them at the tank top’s neck. Maybe he didn’t want to seem like an asshole who wears sunglasses at interiors? Who knows.
He stared at me for a bit longer, before moving to a few racks of tees and pants. I didn’t know what he was looking for, I was mildly paralyzed because I haven’t thought so far ahead. I took a long deep breath, before regaining my cool and walking over to Dave. “Saw something cool?”
The werewolf jock nodded, taking a green tee that seemed a bit fitted for my taste, and some leggings. “Wanna try these out? Bet ya look great on these.” Man, he seemed to be enjoying this shopping stuff more than I. Not gonna pop his bubble though.
“Uhm… sure, I’ll give them a try.” I answered, grabbing what he had picked for me and walking over to a few dressing stalls at another room, next to the bathrooms.
I felt a bit ridiculous, honestly. I undressed and left my regular clothes on a little bench, before putting on what Dave picked for me. ‘If he picked something for me, then I get to pick something for him, right?’ I thought to myself.
“Hey, Dave?” I called for him, but got no answer. Huh, maybe he’s a bit far? That doesn’t make sense though, he has heightened senses!
A minute or so later, the guy entered the dressing stall and looked at me. “Hey, lookin’ pretty good.” He said, almost whispering. I don’t know if they allow two people to be in the same stall, but we can just pass as two bros helping each other out, right?
“Huh, y’think so? Never used fitted tees before.” It didn’t look half as good as it would look on Dave. Never been too athletic, so I had nothing to show off, as mentioned before.
“I mean, you look great with everything, even better when you wear nothing, babe” That was a bit of a lame flirting attempt, but still, highly appreciated. I looked at myself in the mirror, and he took advantage of the moment to wrap his arms around me. “Should I leave or—”
“No, it’s cool. I like it here…” I tried to move my head to face him, but he surprised me with a mouth invasion. I loved everything about it. The taste, his smell, his movements, everything was great. “…I like you” I changed my words at the last second after the kiss was over.
“I love you, my soulmate. And hey, you look really good in those clothes.” A quick smooch on my cheek before letting go of me. “Mind if you pick something for me? Be fun about it if ya want, I’ll take whatever you choose.” Great! Just as I expected!
And he gave me an idea. One that would activate my dom vein. “Really? Huh… Wanna be a good puppy boy and zone out for me, then?”
It didn’t take any effort from my part.
Dave zoned out like he usually did, tongue lolling out and blankly looking forward. “Let’s see… drop the shirt and give me a good smile” I ordered, hoping that there wouldn’t be people at the other stalls or an employee next to us.
Of course, Dave did as told, revealing his sculpted body with short fuz (He likes to keep himself smooth, but being a werewolf can make that hard, apparently) as his tongue went back in. His face now showed a perfect dumb smile.
“What size of clothing do you wear, puppy boy?” I whispered.
“I wear L, bruh…” He mumbled his answer before his face became stiff once again. Walking out of the stall but making sure the curtain was well closed so no one would wander in and find the dazed werewolf, I went towards the clothing racks.
I wasn’t planning on playing the fashionista nor anything but… A red speedo was the first thing I grabbed. I don’t know if they’re good for using them as a normal underwear but Dave would look hot on them.
A bright yellow long sleeved shirt that seemed pretty fit, combined with some black jean shorts. He would look funny, probably. It was his request!
After grabbing the clothes, I walked back to the dressing stalls and entered Dave’s. Luckily, the shop’s employees seemed to be busy drinking coffee and gossiping at the counter.
Dave still looked perfect. And seeing him in his zoned out state always made my cock twitch for a bit. I smiled at the perfect view, and gave him a quick kiss.
“Now, strip naked, big guy” I ordered, still in whispers. He didn’t answer, but did as I said. Soon, he was showing off his body in all his naked glory. His cock was rock hard, of course. My puppy boy was always ready for action!
“Put this on” I handed him the red speedo, and he moved almost robotically, with lazy movements, as he got the speedo to cover his big junk.
…It was still completely visible though, so it wouldn’t do a good job without something on top of it. “Wait… let me pose you, got it?” Dave nodded. I grabbed his arms and made him flex, like some kind of statue or mannequin. He still had his dumb smile and blank stare, so he looked like some kind of beach boy.
“Good puppy boy,” I praised him, scratching the back of his ear. He didn’t react to it, but I guess he would appreciate the praise. “Now, these ones…” I handed him the shorts and shirt.
Okay, I have an awful fashion sense, but he still managed to look really hot. The shirt clung tightly to his body muscles, and the jeans managed to hide the big erection that escaped the speedo.
I grabbed his arms again, and made him pose like the “I had to do it to ‘em” meme, just for a good laugh.
“You can wake up now, puppy boy” I mumbled, and stared as he regained his senses.
“Whut… How’d it go?” Dave tried to ask, before looking at himself in the mirror. “Damn… Do I look hot?”
“You always do, big guy.”
“I know, but do I look hot to you? You’re the one that matters here.” Aww. I felt myself blushing a bit, before nodding.
“You look stunningly hot.” I replied. He leaned in for another long kiss, before we changed off the clothes. We still had to pay for them!
“Huh, never thought about a speedo,” He mumbled, before looking at me. “Now I wanna do a pool party or something like that, bruh.”
I chuckled, then finished changing into my old clothes. Dave grabbed my new clothes and quickly walked towards the counter. “I’ll pay for everything, don’t ya worry.” The jock said, before I could reject his offer.
He was already offering his card to the employees, so it was too late to stop him, right?
A few minutes later, he waited for me at the entrance with some bags. “Wanna get some lunch?” He asked, walking away from the store, a few bags on his hands.
 ---------
The jock sat in front of me, taking off his sunglasses and leaving them hanging from the tank top’s neck again. His plate had two big burgers, each one with three meats. “Werewolves are hungry all the time, or do you just love food?” Uh, that’s a horrible thing to ask anyone. “Not judging, just curious…” Saved it!
He gave me a smile. “Huh, never thought about it. I do love food, and my wolf metabolism lets me eat whatever I want with barely any consequence on my good physique. Bang!” He finished his explanation flexing both arms.
I chuckled, making a mental note. Dave reached out for his burger before adding a quick “Don’t get surprised if I eat too much, most of my family works like that, bruh.” And giving a bite to the burger.
I looked at my own burger, and started eating too.
Honestly, so far, being a werewolf sounds like a good thing. I don’t know if Dave’s hotheaded personality is tied to his alpha/werewolf status or it’s just who he is, though.
We barely spoke, due to our mouths being filled with delicious meat. I could tell that Dave enjoyed his meal, but he also looked very intently at me and tried to make funny faces every time our eyes crossed paths.
It made me laugh, not going to lie. I was having a good time, overall!
Well… until…
A young girl approached us, probably around our age? She looked like a student, but I don’t recall seeing her at the hallways. Maybe a sophomore or junior?
She was nervous, that was clear. “Heeeey, how’s the meal going?” The girl was cute. She had braided black hair and olive skin. Her accent made me think she was Latina, but I wasn’t sure.
Dave was the first one to answer, due to swallowing his burger faster than I. “Uh, pretty good”
I don’t want to be the jealous weirdo, but I was mildly afraid he may be checking her out. ‘You’re his soulmate’ I reassured myself. The girl was, of course, not interested in me at all, which added more salt to the wound.
“So, umm… This is awkward buuuut… may I get your number? My friends over there” She pointed to a table meters away from ours, a group of three girls staring at us “made a bet and… geez, I fucked up, right?”
‘Kinda, yeah.’ I thought, looking over at Dave and hoping he would take care of the situation.
Before giving out an answer, the big guy looked at me and his smile went down for a bit. “Look, I wouldn’t really mind but… I’m pretty much taken and we’re in the middle of something here.” I was screaming inside, feeling so proud of the puppy boy!
The girl’s face turned red, and quickly started to apologize as she slowly backed away. Dave didn’t stop looking at her until she was far enough. Then, he spoke.
“Your face is so easy to read, babe.” He threw at me, mockingly, after the girl was gone. “Don’t worry, not gonna ruin our special day, my love.”
“I know, I know. Couldn’t help but feel a bit… annoyed?” I shook my head “Anyway, not important. Where would you like to go now?”
“Babe, you’re important, the most important thing in my life,” Dave answered, reaching out to touch my hand and softly caress it. “And honestly? Kinda glad to see you worried about me. Makes me way more glad to have gotten you this!”
He reached down to his pocket and took a little package. “Bought this when you were trying out stuff. Thought it would be a neat detail, after you gifted me a puppy boy collar!”
I grabbed the little package and carefully opened it. Inside, two necklaces lied. A locket with a keyhole on the middle, and a key, both necklaces being held with each their own chains. “I tried to look for something with meaning, and which better thing than something that uh…” The jockboy tried to explain a bit more, but I could tell that he was out of ‘smartsy words’ already.
“I own the key to your heart?” I asked, grabbing both pieces and handing him the locket part.
“Yeah! Oh, wait. Open it first, bruh.” He handed it back to me, and I proceeded to open the small locket.
Inside of the locket, a little note could be read. ‘My heart, body and mind belongs to my lovely soulmate Nate Hall —David Walker’. “The store’s clerk looked weirded out when I wrote that. Also, sorry for not being there when you called for me.” He finished, as I closed the locket again. Huh, so that’s where he was.
Needless to say, my face was red. Like, completely red. I’ve been hearing Dave the mean jock saying cheesy lines for the past few weeks, but he surpassed himself this time. He was the best boyfriend I could have ever asked for, no need to struggle against that now.
I’ve never been one to express many emotions, especially when around a crush or romantic interest. Never got the confidence to actually express them.
It was different now.
“I… I really like it. You’re the best!” I handed him his locket and placed the key necklace around my neck.
“Nah, your collar was a better gift, I think. I have a hard time picking gifts, but that one seemed like a good one.” He shrugged, probably trying to take importance from the fact that my lovely puppy boy seemed a softie. I loved when he acted like that, though. Dave is really sweet when he wants to be.
Dave placed the locket necklace around his neck. I don’t know if it would interfere with the bowser collar when we play in private, but I didn’t care. Dave always tried to do nice stuff for me, his soulmate, and I think I should start to reciprocate a bit more often.
“So, you get to pick where we go next,” I told him, trying to change the subject. I was out of words already, and I didn’t want to get too cheesy in the middle of the street. I was really thankful, though. “Any ideas?”
“While going out and shopping with you has been way better than what I thought…” I noticed he still had to get through his second burger. He gave it a huge bite before swallowing and finishing his sentence. “I think I’d prefer to head home now. My home, with you, and a pair of beers, by the pool. Sounds like a plan? I could even make good use of that amazing speedo you got me.”
The idea of an almost naked Dave wearing a speedo made me giggle a bit. I stole a fry from his plate and nodded. “Sounds like a plan” I don’t drink, but I could use some relaxation time with the best jock in the world.

I hummed and reached across the small space of the cot only to find it warm, yet empty. After opening my eyes, I realized that I was left alone in the bed with Din nowhere in sight. There was a sharp pain in my chest of what almost felt like disappointment.
Why was I disappointed? I shouldn't be surprised, really.
         But did it mean something?
                   Who cares?
A small whisper in the back of my head told me to leave before this could go too far. Both for his sake and for mine. Din has a code he has to stick to and I don't want to be the reason he breaks it. And me? I shouldn't be staying in one place for too long.
I can't leave the kid, though. He's strong with the force and barely trained at that. If that energy got into the wrong hands - well, again - there would be complete chaos once more.
I spent so much time on the run, maybe I was finally safe. Then again, hunters are still after the kid.
        I have to stay here.
I sat up and pulled myself to the edge of the thin mattress. It was quite possibly the least comfortable thing I have ever slept on, but with Din, I would happily sleep there every night.
I doubted it would happen again.
There wasn't much in the belly of the ship. The cot, a little bathroom, lots of guns and ammunition, but nothing personal. Does he even have anything personal? Has he spent his whole life hunting and on the run?
I guess my life hasn't been much different lately.
I found the helmeted man sitting peacefully in his pilot's seat, soaring the Razor Crest through the starry skies. Part of me wanted to wrap my arms around him but a louder voice said to just sit down and pretend it never happened. I went with the latter.
"Good morning." I mumbled quietly. I wasn't sure if I should say anything at all.
He spun around in the chair, his head cocking to the side as he faced me. "You're up." He spoke with a soft breath. "I was going to come back."
          "Don't worry about it."
"Oh." My heart cracked at the subtle pain in his voice. "I found another mission."
"You what?" I spat, rising from my seat.
"What? It's a small mission with people I used to work with."
My face was heating up at his nonchalance. "Don't you think we should have talked about this first?"
"It isn't a big deal. It's a simple mission." He shrugged.
I scoffed quietly, trying not to get too riled up. Things were going well with us and I didn't want to be the one to ruin it but this was crossing a line.
"Din, I'm your partner. We're supposed to discuss things like this before agreeing to them. We're putting the child in danger!" I ran my hand through my hair, trying to detangle it from the mess it had become.
         "You're overreacting again."
"Excuse me?" My eyes grew wide. "I'm overreacting again? When was the other time?"
"You're always making things about you." He growled "Guess what, Princess? This is my ship and I don't need a partner. You tagged along because you wanted to."
The wind had been knocked from my lungs and the burning rage that built up inside me felt like fire. Along with it, there was a pain that brought tears to my eyes. I wanted to explode and shout, but I didn't.
My hands balled into fists, followed by the soft crunch of the armrests of the chair I once sat in. I didn't dare look back at it. Instead, I turned and climbed back down to the living quarters of the ship.
It was about to be a very long ride to wherever we were going.
┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉
We sauntered down the ramp into the base as far away from one another as possible. It was dark and kind of smelled like rotting fish. I had to try to hold my breath just to escape the horrid stench.
A fairly large man with long, wild gray hair stood in front of us once we reached the floor. His name was Ran, according to Din. He tried to at least brief me on what he knew.
"This is going to go very badly." I mumbled, only loud enough for Din to hear.
"Mando!" The man shouted with a wide, gross grin. "Is that you under that bucket?" He held out his grimy hand towards us. "Hey... Who's the lady?" He sent a wink in my direction.
It took everything I had not to gag.
"Ran." Din shook his hand briefly. "This is my partner, Myrah."
I wanted to be mad at him, but I felt my heart thump when he called me his partner.
"I didn't really know if I'd ever see you in these parts again. Good to see you." Ran threw his arm around Din's shoulders and led him around the ship while I trailed behind.
"You know, to be honest, I was a little surprised when you reached out to me." He pulled his arm back and began to slow his pace as he spoke. "You know, 'cause I...I hear things." He paused and looked between us with a cocked brow. "Like, maybe things between you and the Guild aren't workin' out."
"I'll be fine." Din spoke, his tone cold and stern. After our little visit on Tatooine, I'm sure he wanted nothing to do with the Guild.
"Okay... Well, you know the policy." Ran threw his hands up in mock surrender and stepped towards us. "No questions. And you... You're welcome back here anytime." He patted his shoulder firmly "Especially with the cute one back there." He laughed, booming and annoying.
"So what exactly is this job?" I asked and walked to the edge of the old balcony, overlooking the Razor Crest. "Some stupid repairs? That's not exactly what we do."
Ran chuckled and shook his head, walking closer to me. Now I knew where the fish smell came from. It made me want to vomit.
"One of our associates ran afoul of some competitors and got himself caught. So, I'm putting' together a crew to spring him. It's a five person job. I got four. All I need is the ride and y'all brought it... and extra."
Din stepped between Ran and I, something I felt like I would have to thank him for later. "The ship wasn't part of the deal."
"Well, the Crest is the only reason I let you back in here." He let out a breathy chuckle. "What's the look? Is that gratitude?" He joked. "Uh huh. I think it is."
I looked up at Din once Ran had walked out of earshot. "I change my mind...This is going to go very badly." I hissed.
I watched his chest rise as he took a deep breath and nodded, both of us following after the creepy man.
"Hey, Mayfeld." Ran beamed as we approached a bald man who was working on organizing files.
         "Yeah?"
"This is Mando, the guy I was tellin' you about. We used to do jobs back when...And this is Myrah. His- uh- partner, I guess."
"This is the guy?" Mayfeld pointed to Din with his eyebrows knitted together.
"Yeah, we were all young, tryin' to make a name for ourselves..."
I stepped closer to Din with my eyes wide. "Are you as old as that guy? Because I swear if you look as rotten as him-"
"Not by a long shot, Princess." He whispered back.
We were interrupted by Ran's obnoxious laughter. "Yeah, but runnin' with a Mandalorian, that was... That brought us some reputation."
"Oh, yeah? What did he get out of it?" Mayfeld practically stared daggers at him. For some reason, he already had some vendetta against us.
"I asked him that one time." Ran chuckled. "You remember what you said, Mando? Target Practice." Mayfeld laughed but his stare returned shortly after. "Man, we did some crazy stuff, didn't we?"
"That was a long time ago." Din sighed, trying to get the conversation over and done with.
"Well, I don't go out anymore. You understand?" Ran explained. "So, uh, Mayfeld, he's gonna run point on the job. If he says it, it's like it's comin' from me... You good with that?"
Din paused, staring Mayfeld down before answering. "You tell me."
Ran laughed. Again. I suspect he just thought everything was funny, but Kriff, it was annoying.
         "You haven't changed one bit."
         Oh, if you only knew.
"Yeah, well, things have changed around here." Mayfeld quickly turned to get back to his work.
"Mayfeld, he's-" Ran nodded in agreement with himself, "he's one of the best triggermen I've ever seen...Former Imperial sharpshooter."
I snorted and tried to hold back the laugh that threatened to come out. "That's not saying much."
"I wasn't a stormtrooper, wiseass." Mayfeld quickly snapped.
He followed us as we began walking back to the Razor Crest. Apparently we were supposed to be meeting the rest of the team. I guess it wouldn't be so bad to meet some of Din's old pals.
"Razor Crest?" Mayfeld spoke disgustedly. "I can't believe that thing can fly... Looks like a Canto Bight slot machine." He chuckled and led us around. "Alright, the good-lookin' fellow there with the horns, that's Burg."
The red, horned man dropped a box and grunted as he glared at us. He was tall and ugly, but he must have some use.
"This may surprise you, but he's our muscle."
         See? Some use.
Burg stalked towards Din, standing close to him as though he was sizing him up. "So, this is a Mandalorian..." He grunted. "I thought they'd be bigger."
Mayfeld chuckled and brought us to a bug-looking droid that held a blaster in its robotic hands. "Droid's name is Zero."
"I thought you said you had four." Din growled with his focus remaining on the droid. He's never liked the robots.
"He does." A high-pitched feminine voice spoke up behind us. It was sort of squeaky and in my honest opinion, irritating.
A purple Twi'lek was slowly approaching us while spinning a knife in her hand. She wore a wicked and borderline suggestive grin. "Hello, Mando..."
         Wait.
         "Xi'an." His voice was breathy.
         Wait a second.
"Tell me why I shouldn't cut you down where you stand?" She swiftly moved towards him, holding the knife to his throat. He, of course, didn't flinch or move in the slightest.
         "Nice to see you, too."
Oh, Kriff, don't tell me that this is an ex-girlfriend.
Xi'an burst out into a squeaky laugh and leaned in towards his helmet. I felt my stomach twist into a knot as I felt an overwhelming urge to rip her away. I'm sure it was just a stomach ache.
"I missed you...This is shiny." She tapped the blade of her knife against his beskar chest plate and clicked her tongue. "You wear it well." She flirted.
I felt my nails dig into the palms of my hands. Not enough to break the skin, but enough to leave a sharp indentation.
"Do we need to leave the room or something?" Mayfeld quipped.
I could feel a familiar heat rise to my face. Not the normal blissful one that I wish I felt, but an agitated one that made my face twitch.
"I think we just might." I growled.
"Well, Xi'an's been a little heartbroken since Mando left our group." Ran spoke up with a shrug.
"Aw. You gonna be okay, sweetheart?" Mayfeld teased.
"Oh, I'm all business now." She pointed her knife to Din's helmet with a grin. "Learned from the best."
I could feel the anger bubble in my chest when Xi'an turned and winked at Din. His warm presence neared me, his helmet leaning down to my ear with a soft chuckle.
         "Is that envy, Princess?"
I shouldn't be angry but I was angry. Still, his voice made me shiver and grow weak against him.
In a way, that made me even more mad.
I spun around to say something, but was interrupted by Burg's towering presence. "Tiny." He laughed and followed after the group.
I looked over at Din one more time, my face feeling hotter than it did on Tatooine under the bright sun. Any words that I could possibly conjure up didn't seem to come out. I kept my glare steady for a few moments more before I took off after the group.
And here I thought he was sorry for what happened earlier.

Of Rocks and Robots Ch. 30 - Coffee and Chemicals
Tumblr media
"Ummm...what's Honey Lemon doing?" Fred asked as the gang made their way across the quad.
Their friend wasn't with them but stood off to the side looking up at a large shady elm through half lidded eyes.
"Hello, professor oak, I finished my…"she gave a prodigious yawn before sleepily continuing on "...report… on… color… theory..." Another yawn escaped her lips.
"Is she talking to a tree?" Wasabi asked with concern.
"She's been hit hard by midterms," Gogo explained, "three exams in one day, plus two more tomorrow, four final projects due Friday, and she just got a large order of her cosmetics that's due to ship this weekend. She's been pulling all nighters for the past three days."
As if to confirm this explanation the group heard a loud snore come from Honey Lemon's way. She wobbled as her head drooped down on her chest and Gogo skated over to her in a rush and caught the tall girl in her arms before she fell unconscious.
"Do you need help?" Varian asked as the rest of the gang followed after.
"Nope" Gogo grunted as she dragged Honey Lemon's limp body towards the doors. Wasabi ignored her and picked up Honey Lemon's legs so that they could better carry her inside.
"Man and I thought I had it bad." Kamri committed as they walked into the student lounge.
"Yeah, Honey Lemon is a double major at two schools." Hiro explained. "By the looks of it she must be stretching herself too thin."
Fred ran to snag a few chairs and put them together to form a makeshift bed as Gogo and Wasabi gently laid Honey Lemon down.
"Got... isotope project due…Friday.." Honey Lemon hummed in her sleep before letting out another snore.
"I'll go get her a coffee." Varian offered helpfully as he walked to the barista that was housed inside the lounge.
"Honey Lemon?" Gogo gently asked as she gave her friend a firm shake, but no response came other than more snoring.
"Face it, she's dead to the world." Wasabi commented.
"Here try this." Varian walked over carrying an espresso and handed it to Gogo.
Karmi rolled her eyes, "You think caffeine is the answer for everything. Remember the red bull incident?"
"Hey, that was a scientific experiment!" Varian indignantly defended himself, "Theoretically the Nyquil should have canceled out the energy drink…"
"And what's your excuse for eating the coffee beans straight out of the bag?" Hiro asked.
"I don't eat them straight out of the bag," Varian dismissed, "I roast them first."
"Ooo, have you tried the ones covered in chocolate?" Fred added, "Those are good."
"Both of you have a caffeine addiction. That much coffee isn't good for you." Wasabi warned.
"Well either way looks like the smell of the coffee is working" Gogo interrupted as she nudged Honey Lemon awake.
Honey Lemon hummed as she sat up and followed the coffee cup with her nose. She slowly blinked her eyes open before snagging the cup out of Gogo's hands, downing it in one gulp, and then yawning as she fell back asleep.
Hiro however caught her head before she could finish laying back down, "Sorry, Honey Lemon but we gotta keep you awake."
"Yeah you got an exam in fifteen minutes." Gogo reminded her.
"Nooooo" Honey Lemon moaned and tried to turn around on her side to curl up and sleep.
Wasabi stopped her this time and helped to lift her back up to her feet.
"You better go get another coffee." Karmi whispered to Varian.
"Told you." He whispered back before making his way back to the counter.
                                               -----------------------------
Keeping Honey Lemon awake throughout the day was no easy task. She kept dozing off during her exams, labs, and even lunch. The rest of the gang had to stay with her during the school day to nudge her awake or coax her with coffee.
Once school was done however, she refused to go home and go to bed; citing she had too much to do. And so that's how she wound up currently inside Hamada home studying for her chemistry midterm.
She had asked Varian to help her since he was the only one who held the same interest in the subject. He was only too happy to oblige, but it was proving to be a difficult task. Honey Lemon couldn't focus and would stare dreamily off into the distance instead of answering the questions he would give her.
"Silver has two naturally occurring isotopes, 107Ag is at 106.9 amu and 109 Ag at 108.9 amu, therefore what is the average atomic mass of silver?" Varian read off the practice test.
"Hmmm?" Honey Lemon hummed questioningly.
They were sitting on the couch in the living room, textbooks splayed out upon the coffee table in front of them. Honey Lemon's elbows rested on her knees and her chin was cradled in her fists. She looked at him as if only just noticing he was even there.
"Come on, this an easy one." Varian coaxed, "What's the atomic mass of silver?"
"Oh!"She exclaimed as what was being asked of her finally dawned in her brian. She then yawned and said, "107.9 amu."
"Correct; now which of the following is not a homogeneous mixture?" He continued with the quiz. "Air? Copper? Brass? Or-"
"Does everyone have blue hair where you come from?" Honey Lemon innocently interrupted.
Varian suddenly froze as if he'd been hit by a truck. He slowly turned to look at the other teen and saw her eyeing him curiously through heavy eyelids. He gulped and tried to brush off the question.
"Ah..well…not really.."
"Cause your stripe never fades like say a dye job would." She explained; oblivious to his discomfort in her sleepy haze.
"Umm well… I've always just had it...I think it's from an alchemy accident...or something…"
"No... that can be it..." She shook her head in confusion, "If you had just spilled a chemical on it, it would have eventually just grown out." Now with her curiosity piked, she began to perk up and unthinkingly reached her hand up to run it through his hair. "You mean it just grows out blue, and only one strand? That's got to be like a genetic thing..."
Varian tried to pull away; his cheeks burning red. How he hated being reminded that didn't fit in, not even in his own world. Honey Lemon was still oblivious however.
"Do you have anyone in your family with blue hair as well?" She pressed, trying to figure out this new mystery.
"I don't know!" He snapped.
Everything went quiet. Honey Lemon lifted her hand away and looked at him with wide eyes. She had seen his temper before, but this was the first he had ever gotten mad at her. She didn't know what to do, and neither did Varian.
He hadn't meant to yell at her, and frightening her, of all people, was the last thing in the world that he'd ever want to do. But talk of his past always sent him into a panic and not knowing the answer to something threw him off balance. The fact that the mystery was himself only heightened his concern, which is why he prefered to ignore it.
"I'm sorry." They both stammered out at the same time. They stopped in surprise at the unique timing of their apologies and then softly giggled and blushed over how silly they were being; the tension ebbing away as quickly as it had arrived.
"I..I shouldn't have pried." Honey Lemon said she tugged a strand of her own hair.
"No..I shouldn't have yelled." Varian countered. "It's just…well...no one likes being different, ya know?"
"Oh, but everybody's different," Honey Lemon encouraged cheerfully. Varian tried his best not to roll his eyes at such a lame platitude.
"No, I mean it." She laughed. She then tried to give him a smile but it was soon broken by another yawn. She stretched and then leaned over to rest her head upon his shoulder.
"I like your hair. It's part of what makes you special." She then hugged his arm and nuzzled her head as she curled up on the couch next to him, putting her feet up on the cushions and using him as a pillow.
Varian was stunned. She liked his hair? She didn't think him odd or a freak? Varian tried to remember a time when anybody had ever complimented his abnormally. Most would politely ignore it or brush it off, a few would tease, and some would even call it a bad omen. The more superstitious villagers said it was a hex, a clear sign that he was unnatural, and combined with his more unsuccessful alchemy experiments, helped to spread the rumor that he was a dangerous wizard. It was part of the reason why he hated being associated with magic.
Somewhere in his distant memory he could recall hushed conversations late at night between his parents concerning him. He couldn't remember precisely what had been said, but he knew they were worried about him and his hairstripe.
Heck even Aunt Cass had been weirded out when he told her he didn't need her to buy any hair dye for him. He probably should have played along then when she asked if needed some, but he hadn't been thinking at the time. She hasn't said anything since, but he knew she hadn't been able to process the idea that his hair just naturally grew out blue.
His musings were interrupted when he heard a loud snore right next to his ear.
He looked down to see Honey Lemon fast asleep and snoring away soundly like she normally did when sleeping. He didn't mind though. He supposed it was part of what made her special too. Also she really needed the rest.
He gently pulled his arm out of her grip and then wrapped it around her waist so she wouldn't fall forward as he reached his other hand over to the coffee table to snag his physics text book. He figured he would study for his own upcoming exam while she slept. Careful not to wake her, he propped his foot up on the table and reasted the book on his knee; using one hand to open it and turn the pages as he cradled the sleeping girl next to him with the other.
                                              -----------------------------
"Honey Lemon? Are you ready to go?" Gogo asked as she and Hiro climbed upstairs. They had agreed to take on patrol duty tonight so everyone else could study. They had finished up early and now Gogo had come to pick up Honey Lemon so that they could head home.
They found her and Varian both asleep on the couch. He had a textbook covering his eyes as he used the seat's arm as a pillow on one end and stretched his feet out to the other, with one foot dangling off the edge. Honey Lemon was sprawled out on top of him while she rested her head upon his stomach. "The answer is copper…" she mumbled in her sleep and then hugged his waist tighter like she would a pillow.
"Cute." Gogo said deadpan and then she raised an eyebrow at Hiro. "Should we wake them?"
Hiro gave her a wicked grin and signaled for her to stay quiet while he ran upstairs to his room. He re-emerged moments later with a megaphone in his hand.
"Where did you get that?" She asked.
"Did Tadashi ever tell you about the time he was a cheerleader in high school?" He whispered back. "He said it was to meet girls." He explained to a now clearly confused Gogo.
Hiro didn't give her time to process this new information however as he placed the microphone to his lips and bent down till he was right at Varian's ear.
"Good Morning!" He yelled. "Wakey, wakey! Time to rise and shine!"
Varian bolted upright, knocking the textbook to the floor and doing more to wake up Honey Lemon than any megaphone could.
"Hun?" She blinked sleepily while Gogo tried to suppress her snickering.
Varian glared at her and Hiro, but the face he made only filled them both with more laughter.
"What was that for!?" He angrily yelled.
"You.. you needed to wake up." Hiro explained through his laughter,"also next time don't leave your smelly socks and shoes in the garage. I gotta work in there, ya know."
If looks could have killed, Hiro would have been dead from Varian's gaze alone. He would have lunged at the other boy had Honey Lemon not held him back.
"Look, that was funny but you shouldn't have done it." Gogo interceded.
Hiro mumbled an apology and, he and Varian gave a half hearted handshake to appease the two girls.
"Good. Anyways Honey Lemon and I need to get home, so see ya tomorrow." She waved goodbye and headed down stairs.
Honey Lemon gathered her things up and followed after her, yawning goodbye as she went.
Once they were both gone and out of earshot Varian spoke up,
"Thanks for running the moment." He said irritably.
"What moment? You two were out cold." Hiro snarked back and then he paused as the meaning behind Varian's words came to light, "Waait...You and Honey Lemon?" He couldn't stifle his laughter. "You have a crush on Honey Lemon."
"What of it?" Came Varian's offended reply.
"Dude, she's so out of your league."
"She is not!"
"She's two years older than you and one of the more popular girls at both ours and SFAI's campus. What makes you think you even have a chance?"
"So? That's the same age difference between you and Karmi."
"Wh..what does Karmi have to do with this?" Hiro asked. He was momentarily tripped up by the change in subject.
"Oh come on." Varian rolled his eyes. "Everyone knows you like Karmi."
"I do not!"
"Do to."
"Do not...look for your information I happen to like Megan, okay?"
"Ahhh…" Varian raised an eyebrow and gave a sly smile, "So does either girl know you're cheating on them?" He teased.
"I'm not- we're not...I'm not dating either one of them... yet!" Hiro flustered. "Look it's none of your business!"
"Then stay out of mine." Varian retorted.
"Fine!"
"Fine."
"F-fine."
"Fi-- " Varian stopped, "How long are we going to keep saying 'fine' at one another?"
Hiro shrugged. "Look, I'm sorry for the megaphone gag. That was kind of mean and I promise I won't interrupt your 'it's totally not a date and your dreaming if you think it is' study sessions with Honey Lemon again. Deal?"
"Okay, and I'll make sure to throw my socks in the laundry next time and, I promise not to tell either Karmi or Megan that you like them. I wanna be around when it blows up in your face though." He gave another smug smile and Hiro rolled his eyes.
"Whatever." He dismissed and headed upstairs to bed while Varian picked up his textbooks.
                                              -----------------------------
Varian passed by the chemistry lab on his way to lunch. He paused when he heard a loud snore coming from the room. He stopped and saw Honey Lemon alone in the room with her head on the desk.
"Honey Lemon? You..okay?" He asked as he walked over to her and gave her a light tap on her shoulder.
She must not have been asleep long for she jumped at the touch and jolted awake.
"Oh? Oh, Varian! Hiiiiaahh!" Her hello turned into a yawn and Varian gave her a worried frown.
"Did you not get any sleep last night?" He asked.
"Oh sure…. Sure I did. Right after I finished my still life drawing for tomorrow." She mumbled quietly
Varian raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms. "Which was how many hours exactly?"
"The drawing or sleep?" She asked.
"You know what I meant."
Honey Lemon rolled her eyes and tried to dismiss his concerns. "I'm fiiine. It's only one more day till Friday and then I can take a long nap on Saturday. Besides I got to finnish making up these mini chimballs for my project."
She gave another yawn and groped around absentmindedly for the vial of chemical solution that she needed. " I just need to add this potassium iodine and…"
She picked up one of the vials and made to pour into the solution that she had bubbling in a beaker over a Bunsen burner, not really paying attention to nor looking at what she had actually grabbed.
Varian's eyes went wide as he noticed the label on the vial she was holding.
"Honey Lemon wait! No! That's octane!" He shouted, but he was too late.
The contents of the beaker began to rapidly bubble and foam as sparks from the flame ignited with flammable liquid that had just been added.
Varian reacted quickly, grabbing a stunned Honey Lemon by the wrist and quickly pulling her away. He sprinted out of the lab, dragging her along, as the foaming substance grew larger and swallowed the desk, now mixing itself with the other assortment of chemicals and causing small explosions. Once outside of the doorway he instinctively flung both himself and Honey Lemon to the ground as he felt a rumble behind them. He tried his best to shield her as the now gloopy substance expanded and filled the room with a sloshing, slurpy sound.
Only after a few moments of quiet, where nothing further happened, did Varian roll off of Honey Lemon and hoisted himself on his elbows to see the damage. Bulging out from the doorway was a semi-solid wall of some sort of gelatin like substance, that still steamed and bubbled from the heat of the earlier explosions.
The greenish-yellow tint of the partly translucent substance made Varian sick to his stomach. Had they been caught in that they no doubt would have been smothered or burned by the deadly goop. He heard his heart pound in his ears as it occurred to him that this was the second time he had managed to avoid such a fate.
He heard a sob beside him and turned to see Honey Lemon crying. Now his heart pounded for different reason as he hastily began to check over the girl looking to see how she'd been hurt.
"Honey Lemon? Are.. Are you okay? Are you hurt? Do I need to call Baymax?"
"No." She choked.
He swiped a strand of her hair out of her eyes and gently turned her head towards him. He searched her face in worry. "Then what's wrong?"
"I..I blew up the chim lab...again. I thought I could handle two majors but...but I can't…argh...I just want to crawl under the covers and never come out." She buried her face in her hands and groaned.
In spite of himself, relief washed over Varian as it became evident that the only thing that was seriously harmed was Honey Lemon's pride. Though he took no joy out of seeing her upset either.
"Awww Honey, it's okay." He whispered as he gently squeezed her shoulders. "You're just stressed from midterms. Like you said, things will look better by Saturday."
This did not seem to appease her though as she continued to cry into her hands. Varian racked his brain on what he could do or say to make things better. Hesitantly you wrapped her into a hug and she returned it with a sob.
"Oh, Honey Lemon," He encouraged in her ear. ",its gonna be alright. Hey at least no one was hurt right?"
He pulled away from the embrace to give her a small smile but she only returned it with a pout.
Varian sighed, "Look, you're talking to the guy who almost flooded the school remember? This ain't nothing."
That got him a snort of laughter and he flashed her a grin.
"Yeah, I remember." She nodded and finally smiled through her tears.
They locked eyes and for a moment Varian didn't know what to do. All he could do was stare at her transfixed.
Honey Lemon broke the spell herself, "I guess I need to call and tell the chemistry professor what happened she sighed. "Maybe he'll give me an extension."
That knocked Varian out of his stupor. "Yea...yeah, of course he will, and in the meantime I'll help you clean up, okay?"
"Okay." She smiled as he helped her up.
                                              -----------------------------
Cleaning up wasn't as difficult as Varian first feared. The gel like compound naturally broke down over time and washed away easily with water. Though it still took a couple of hours to get it all clear.
Honey Lemon hadn't said much during this time, still embarrassed and tired. As they came down to the last bit of the work, Varian tried to ease the tension.
"Ya know," He said nonchalantly as he mopped the floor,"after a close call like that a person could probably use a stiff drink."
He meant it as a joke but Honey Lemon only stiffened and stopped wiping down the countertop to give him a worried frown.
"....of coffee!" He hastily added. "How about we get some after we finish up here?"
He threw her one of his winsome smiles and Honey Lemon relaxed a little.
"Aren't you still grounded?" She asked.
"Yes, but school doesn't count and there's the cafe in the student lounge." He gave her a wink. "So technically, it's still not breaking the rules."
She smirked and shook her head, "You know you can't find loopholes for everything."
"No, but can't blame me for trying." He sat the mop to the side and grabbed the rag Honey Lemon was using. "What'dya say, hmm?"
"Well, I need something to keep me awake for my last class." She agreed and Varian felt like he'd just won the lottery.
                                              -----------------------------
Varian and Honey Lemon sat together inside the student lounge laughing over nothing in particular. She had cheered up significantly since the incident in the lab and was back to her usual perky self.
At the moment they were having a discussion over which was worse, being too short or too tall.
"But you've never had anyone call you a giraffe before" she good naturedly countered before taking a sip of her iced latte.
"What's wrong with that? Giraffes are cute." Varian shrugged. "At least you don't risk getting accidently stepped on in a crowd."
Honey Lemon rolled her eyes and snickered, "I think you're exaggerating just a little on that one."
"Maybe" He conceded and took a sip of his own coffee, "but it's no fun being told to get out of the way cause no one thinks you're big enough to help; like when they were raising a new barn a few years ago dad just told me to stay out of the way."
"When was this? When you were what thirteen?"
"Twelve."
"Surely you've grown a little taller since then."
"Barely." Varian groaned and took another sip of his drink to hide his embarrassment.
"Well, a least you're not constantly being asked to get things off the high shelves and stuff. Everyone in art class does that and it drives me nuts" She complained.
"Really? Cause if I suddenly woke up taller one day I'd be volunteering to get stuff off high places just to show off."
"I mean, you might. Guys don't stop growing until their like in their late teens or early twenties. Me, I'll never stop being the 'tall girl.'" She made a face, showing her displeasure over the nickname, and reached across the table to the basket of biscotti that they had agreed to share.
As she grabbed one of the Italian sweets she heard Varian say with a shrug, "Ah, you're not even that tall."
She paused mid reach to look at him in surprise and he just stared at her blankly wondering what he had said wrong.
"Thank you!" She blurted out loudly. "OMG, I'm always having to say that! I'm only 5'10". My shoes just make me look taller." She lifted a foot to show off her heels to Varian.
"Then why wear them?" He asked, confused.
"Cause they look cute." Honey Lemon pouted.
Varian shrugged again."Okay…..But no, 5'10", that's like normal height. You're no taller than say Queen Arianna is. You want tall? You should see my dad. He's close to seven feet, and he's still not even the tallest guy I've ever met. The king's actually taller than him and so a whole bunch of other guys in Corona. Now you know why I hate being so short. I'm not even taller than the princess , okay, and she's like the shortest person I know."
Then he paused mid rant and cupped his chin in thought,"Well okay, except for Shorty."
"Soooo are women usually tall or short in your world?" She asked, confused herself now as she had no reference for what Varian was talking about.
"Umm..depends on the person I guess. The tallest woman I ever met is my Aunt Adria. She's my dad's sister and about as tall as he is."
"Wait, you have an aunt?" Honey Lemon asked with concern, "Where's she at? Why didn't she come help you and your dad?"
"Well I haven't seen her since I was like five. I don't know where she is, and it's not like we have phones to call one another. I just remember her because, well, she's kind of hard to forget. She has white hair, carries a huge sword everywhere, and half her face is tattooed solid red."
"Hun…I'm guessing she's pretty … unique then?"
"I guess, all I remember was that she and dad had a big fight over something annnd I never saw her since."
"That's sad." Honey Lemon mused.
"How so?"
"Well she's his sister. I'd hate to have a fight with one of my brothers that's so bad that we'd never talk to one another again."
"Hmm...I... never really thought about it before. I guess cause I don't have any siblings and none of my aunts or uncles were ever really around to begin with."
"You have more aunts?"
"Well no, but I have a couple of uncles that I've never met. After my dad left his home country, he didn't really keep in touch with them."
"That's sad." She reiterated.
"Yeah.." He agreed quietly and took another sip of his coffee as thoughts of his dad ran through his mind. His father had kept most of his past hidden from his son. Varian only knew about his extended family because he had stumbled upon his dad's journal amongst his other things in the trunk that had kept hidden in his quarters, along with the mysterious scroll pecice that the King had hunted him down for.
A lot of secrets had come to light sitting in that dusty room, pouring over the pages filled with his father's words. Answers that only brought up more questions. He still didn't know how to feel about it all. Mostly he was angry that his dad never shared things with him, be they large or small, insignificant or not.
But Honey Lemon's words shone light on a new perspective. How much had leaving hurt? Was it just too painful for his dad to talk about at all, with anyone? Even then he still could have told Varian about the rocks, could have trusted him, and there were still secrets hidden away from him. His mind turned to the note locked away in the amber with his dad and instinctively his free hand balled up into a fist.
Honey Lemon looked on with worry as she saw the cloud behind Varian's as he brooded over something. He kept so much of himself hidden away from everyone. But the pain it caused him was always evident just underneath the surface. Honey Lemon wasn't sure she even wanted to know, given what little he had opted to share thus far. Corona scared her. How could any place be so hard and so cruel? Still she wanted to be there for him. He was her friend after all. She placed a hand on top of the fist that he rested on the table, snapping him out of his melancholy mood.
She gave a wide smile and chriped, "You know once midterms are over and you're un- grounded we should all do something fun."
"Like what?"
She thought a minute."Hmmm..Oh, I know! How about karaoke?"
"What's that?"
"It's where you take turns getting up and singing on stage. It's fun."
"It sounds fun. I'm all for it. But on one condition."
"What?"
"You get some actual sleep before then."
"Oookaaayy…" she rolled her eyes in an exaggerated manner and then they both broke down into giggles.

I whimpered as the sun filtered through the room. I felt his arms tighten around me and my heart fluttered in contentment. I kept my eyes closed, because I knew the moment I opened them, I would have to leave. I cuddled deeper into his chest and felt it rise and fall with every breath. It made me feel relaxed. It made me feel at home.
Finally, I forced my eyes open and I was met by his sleeping face. I’ve never seen him so at peace before. It was like seeing a whole new side to him. He was so handsome. I bit my lips together and tried to slip out of his hold. Once again he tightened them around me. I smiled at the contact. I pulled my hand up to brush some hair away from his sleeping face.
“Sarah…” he mumbled, causing my heart to sink. I pulled my hand away and swallowed hard. Why did that hurt me so much? I bit my lips together and finally slipped out of his arms. I gathered my dress from the floor and left quickly and quietly.
I ran back to my own house, immediately going to my room to avoid people. I let out a sigh and walked into the bathroom connected to my room, turning on the shower. I just wanted to be alone. I stripped out of Topper’s clothes and stepped into the bath. The water cascaded down me, burning every inch of my skin in the process. I closed my eyes and felt the heat numb me.
I stayed in the shower longer than I had intended. When I got out, the room was fogged up with steam and the lights created a hazy mess. I dried off before stepping back into my room to get dressed. I threw Topper’s clothes in my hamper and grabbed a new outfit to wear. I slipped on a black crop top and a pair of denim shorts. I wrapped my hair up in the towel and plopped down on my bed, slipping my earbuds into my ears and playing some familiar music. I closed my eyes and quietly hummed along to Painting Flowers by All Time Low. I was so enticed by the music that I didn’t even hear the knock on my bedroom door.
“Hey Buttercup,” Rafe’s voice rang out as an earbud was pulled from my ear. My eyes snapped open and I stared at him in shock. I watched as he awkwardly rubbed his neck. I took my hair out of the towel before acknowledging his existence.
“What are you doing here?” I asked. I was being firm, but not rude. I looked directly at him and waited for an explanation. I think he owed me at least that. He paced around the room, looking for the right words to say to me and I almost chuckled. He was mouthing words that he had probably rehearsed at home, but not in the moment, they didn’t seem right to him.
“I’m sorry,” he said. I looked at him to continue and he did. “I was a dick to you last night and I shouldn’t have left ya alone. I just don’t have much experience in actually relationships and caring about people and so I do some dumb things sometime, but that’s not an excuse. I’d really like to make it up to you, if you’ll let me…”
I watched him fumble over his words a bit and smiled at the gesture. He was really trying here and maybe he was the key to getting Topper off of my mind. I let out a sigh and looked up at him, letting him see my smile.
“It’s okay, I was never that mad. It’s fun watching you sweat though,” I said, giggling a little bit. He smiled at me. I liked his smile more than I liked his smirk. His smile spread throughout his face and into his eyes. It was a sight for sore eyes.
“Wanna go grab lunch?” he asked me. I nodded and told him that he needed to let me get ready first. He agreed and plopped down on my bed, putting my earbuds in one ear and hitting play on my phone. “Wow, didn’t strike me as a rock fan.”
“What do I strike you as?” I asked as I brushed through my hair. I was genuinely curious about assumptions about me. He smirked a little bit and thought hard about his answer.
“Taylor Swift,” he said. I turned around and stared at him with shock. “You strike me as a heartbreak, ballad, serenade type of girl.”
“I like old Taylor Swift,” I said. I had listened to everything through Red, but nothing really after that. I loved a good love song as much as the next girl, but I wouldn’t say that defined me. My musical palette was very diverse. “I like basically everything.”
“I have a feeling that this won’t be the last surprise up your sleeve,” he said. I shrugged, a smirk of my own creeping onto my face. I watched him in the mirror as I did my make-up. He was cycling through my music as I applied a thin layer of mascara and some highlighter. His eyes met mine in the mirror.
“Ready,” I said. “Where are we going?”
“You’ll see,” he said.
I didn’t know what kind of adventure I had gotten myself into when I agreed to see him. We started by picking up food on the way to the beach. From there we put out a blanket and sat on the sand. I smiled as I opened up a can of coke, feeling the sea breeze brush against my skin. I took a sip of the freshly opened drink and took the food from him. I grabbed mine out and held his food captive.
“How about we play a game?” I asked, giving him a sly look. He rolled his eyes, but played along. He looked at me, waiting for the rules. I thought long and hard, but I really wanted to understand him more. There were a few things that still confused me about him.
“You can have your food after you answer some questions,” I said. He rolled his eyes and laid down on his side, watching as I took a bite out of my chicken strip melt. The sandwich tasted so good as I took the first bite. “Why’d you leave me alone?”
“What?” he asked, not expecting me to dive right into it. The smile from my face fades a little bit as he fiddles with his hands. “Aurora, I’m sorry.”
I wasn’t expecting an apology. I looked at him and saw the look on his face. Unlike him, I felt bad when my company felt uncomfortable. I tossed him the food and told him to forget about it. I took another bite out of my sandwich and tossed a couple fries in my mouth. I turned my attention from him to the seagulls flocked by the shoreline. They looked like they were living their best lives. They were free and the wind blew their feathers, giving them the ability to fly easier in the direction of the breeze. They could go wherever.
“There’s a lot going on in my life,” Rafe said, interrupting my thoughts. My head looked back over at him and he wouldn’t make eye contact with me. His face looked angry, but not at me. He was angry at the world.
From there we went back to his house. I sat next to him as he worked on his bike. Sweat glistened off his brow as he looked at the engine. His serious expression hadn’t waiver the whole time. He barked commands at me while I helped him, first for the wrench, then a towel, and finally for water. I grab the gatorade water bottle, thinking to myself for a moment before making a rash decision. Instead of handing it into his outstretched hand, I turned it towards him and sprayed him. I giggled as he squirmed away from him. I worried he would be angry, but instead he laughed and grabbed the bottle out of my hand. I got up, laughing as he chased me around the yard, spraying the rest of the water at me. I could hear him laughing as he chased after me. He was much quicker than me and after the bottle was empty he tossed it somewhere in the yard. I felt him pick me up and throw me over his shoulder, both of us laughing like maniacs. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. He set me down gently and the look on his face went from bliss to horror. I looked at him with concern.
“Aurora, go inside, now,” he said harshly. He pushed me towards the patio, but he was stopped in his tracks.
“You gonna give me a bump, big boy?” a voice rang out. I turned to see a boy that I’ve never seen before. He had long hair, brown hair and he looked rough. “Man, check out this place, though, huh? Hey, who's this?”
He looked at me with a sinister looking smile. I opened my mouth to say something when Rafe pushed me behind him, protectively. I grabbed onto his arm as he stammered out a greeting. I could tell this wasn’t going to be a pleasant conversation. I listened to Rafe mutter out that he didn’t have his money. Why did he owe a guy like this money? I clung to him in worry that something horrible was going to happen. I watched as the guy Rafe called Barry continued to walk closer. The closer he got to me, the more scared I felt.
“All I-All I need you to do is front me more coke,” Rafe said. My heart sank as I realized what was going on.
“R-Rafe…” I muttered, shaking in fear. He took my hands off his arm and gave them a quick squeeze, never looking away from Barry. He was trying to tell me to back away. I moved a couple steps back, carefully and slowly. Rafe told him he had a guy coming. He asked if that was okay.
“How come you got all this nice shit, though?” Barry asked. “Can you tell me that? You ain't got my money, but you got all this nice shit. Maybe that girl of yours can help you out.”
I watched as he grabbed onto Rafe and pulled him towards the bike. I spoke up for the first time. I asked him to stop, I begged him to stop. He wasn’t listening though. He pressed Rafe’s forearm onto the burning metal of the bike and I listened to the skin simmer.
“Stop! Stop! Please!” I yelled, tears filling my eyes. Rafe told me to stay where I was. I squeezed my eyes closed in fear. I could hear Rafe pleading for Barry to stop. I could hear the pain in Rafe’s voice, but I was too scared to move and help him. I let out little sobs as I stood there, shaking. I heard Rafe collapse onto the ground, groaning in agony as the other boy taunted him. I opened my eyes.
“Consider this shit right here your down payment,” Barry said while getting on the bike. “You got three days.”
Rafe laid on the ground moaning as Barry drove away. I rushed to his side, little sobs and hiccups escaping my mouth as I knelt by him. I grabbed his arm and pulled his wrist into my vision. It was burnt and blistering. I listened to him groan in pain as I told him I would go get the first aid kit.
I was sniffling as I ran through the house, looking for anything that would help me. I was a frantic mess, but somehow I found what I was looking for. I ran back to his side and told him that this was going to hurt. I don’t think he was listening though. I placed a cold compress onto his wrist, causing him to scream out in pain. I cried harder, knowing that I was hurting him. I told him to be strong and left it there for a little bit. I grabbed a cotton pad and put antibiotic ointment on it. He continued to vocalize his pain as I dressed the wound. Finally, I bandaged it up. When everything was done, I sat next to him and tried to contain my sobs. I was scared and overwhelmed.
“I’m sorry Aurora,” he said, pulling me into his arms. He had finally calmed down, the adrenaline making him forget about the pain. I sniffled and asked him to explain. I asked him to tell me what just happened. He didn’t though. He just wiped the tears from my eyes and kept apologizing. He tried to get me to stop crying and when I had finally calmed down, he placed a light kiss on my forehead.
“I-I wanna go home,” I said, fear trembling in my voice. He let out a sigh and told me he would take me. I nodded and stood up, walking side by side with him until we were stopped in front of my house. I turned to look at him and his face was so emotionless. I wondered what caused him to be so guarded all the time. I slipped my arms around him, pressing my head to his chest and he stood there shocked. “Are you okay?”
“No…” he mumbled, slipping one arm behind my back and one to hold my head against his chest. I knew he needed this. He needed me. I tightened my arms around him, knowing he wouldn’t tell me anything until he was ready. He placed another kiss on me, this one on the top of my head, before slipping out of my arms. He told me to run inside and not to worry about him. He rubbed his neck awkwardly and gave me a small side smile. His eyes looked happy even though the rest of him was overwhelmed with other emotions at the moment. I smiled and asked if I would see him tomorrow. “Don’t worry, Buttercup. I’ll come find ya.”
I smiled and nodded, turning and walking up my driveway. When I got to my front door, I turned to wave at him. He was still there, just watching me walk in. He waved back and then I slipped through the door, the thought of his eyes lingering in my mind.
That night I laid in bed, watching Criminal Minds as I tried to fall asleep. My parents had been preoccupied with disaster relief all afternoon that I didn’t see them at all and Skip was over adapting to Kook life with his new friends. I was still at home alone when I heard something bounce against my window. I pretended to ignore it, but the paranoia in me from the past six hours of homicide tv wasn’t allowing it to go unnoticed. I slipped out of bed, peering carefully outside. I nearly screamed when I saw a figure outside my window, but then I recognized the blue polo from earlier.
“What are you doing here?” I asked Rafe as I opened my window. I was worried something was wrong and the look on his face confirmed it. I listened to him ask if he could crash here for the night and I nodded. How could I say no when he had let me stay at his house? I told him to go to the front door and I’d let him in.
When I opened the door I hit his chest, causing him to ask me what that was for. I told him I thought a killer was coming for me. He chuckled a little bit, but there was no sass or attitude at all. He was really flat. I looked at his eyes, the ones that were happy a few hours ago, but now they were tormented. They looked broken. I guided him up to my room and watched as he immediately plopped down on my bed. He opened his arms up, waiting for me to crawl in with him. I slipped into bed and let his arms surround me. They felt differently around me today. It was almost like holding me was an act of desperation.
“My dad hates me,” he said as he pulled me closer to him. I looked up at him and told him that he was wrong. I moved some hair away from his face and stared into his baby blue eyes. He didn’t believe me. I told him that there was no way that his dad could ever hate him. He stared at me though. His face never changed, until he started talking. He spilled his guts to me about how the drugs help him cope with being the fuck up. He tells me about how Sarah is the favorite and how no matter how hard he tries, she still comes out on top. He tells me that he messed up so badly that his dad kicked him out.
“Rafe, it’s okay,” I said as tears welled up in his eyes. He was desperate for his father’s approval and I hated that he needed it so badly. “Just because you make some mistakes, doesn’t mean you are a mistake. You can’t blame yourself for everything that goes wrong. If Ward doesn’t want to see how amazing you are then he doesn’t deserve to have you as his son. Just turn your life around and prove to him that you are worth something. I’ll help you in any way I can.”
I reached up and cupped his cheek with one of my hands. I gave him a small smile as his arms tightened around me. The moonlight filtered in through the window and illuminated his face beautifully. This boy in front of me was so broken and he needed me.
I needed him to need me.

fair warning, I wrote this for school. Cw: gangs, violence, death
Carina lived near a beach. The salty breeze would push through her windows and into the house. She woke up in the morning to see the sun rising over the horizon. The colors would dance on the water, and the peaceful crashes of waves would be soothing. She’s always like the beach. At night, after everyone was asleep, she’d climb out her window. There was a tree planted just outside, the jump to the branch was easy.
The tree held the treehouse that she and Castor helped build. Years ago, when their dad was around more and not just some “ghost” who lived with them, he loved to build things. The math it involved and the different angles. Gears would turn in his head as he figured it out. He loved the thought of all the things he could make, it was limitless as long as he had the motivation.
The treehouse was still standing. Carina barely went in there anymore. It was full of memories, toys from her and Castor’s games were left, long abandoned as they grew up. The paper hats from when they pretended to be sailors, the toy swords made of cardboard from when they were pirates looking for the buried treasure. The old towels repurposed as capes for when they were flying around, saving the world.
They always dreamed of saving people together. They’d find someone who was in need of a hero and they’d be there. Not a superhero from a comic story though, those were too flashy and seemed to only use their powers for fame rather than focusing on the people screaming for help. Real heroes don’t care about who see them, they care about saving lives and sparing families.
It was crazy to think that was only a few years ago. Everything had been so simple then. Family meant everything, Castor was her best friend, dinner that night would be something like Mac and Cheese. Their favorite when they were kids.
But they aren’t kids now, are they? She’s seventeen, has a job working as the cashier at McDonald’s, and she’ll be off to college in a year. Carina hasn’t even applied anywhere yet, despite everyone pressuring her too.
So she climbs a tree, using the old wooden steps that were nailed there what feels like an eternity ago. Her feet hit the dirt, and the wind blows through her hair. She loves it. The town is empty at this time of night.
The street lights are dying out, flickering on and off as she walks by. It’s cold out, but she’s wearing not shoes. She leaves her jacket unzipped when she runs down the street and to the beach.
The sand is calming beneath her feet. It’s cold but not freezing, it’s perfect. She stays there., simply sitting in the sand by herself, because sometimes your own company is better than anyone else's.
She stays out there until the moon is gleaming over the ocean in such a comforting manor that her eyes start to droop. Startling herself awake, because she can’t follow asleep and have the police escort her home again, she dips her hands into the water and splashes herself in the face.
She’s hit with more adrenaline, and take off down towards one of the more secluded areas of the beach.
Carina ran through the streets of Godric, the rain was coming down hard on her. She’d be lying if she said she didn’t love it. Her bare feet were slippery on the wet concrete and puddles. Her thin sweater and sweats were drenched, sticking to her skin and making her shiver from the cold.
“If you care too much, you worry too much. Then you’ll never really get to live.” Caelum said that to her one night. The two stayed up late, watching some stupid cartoons on this old tv they had found. It was one of those, “Take it, it’s free,” things where people left their junk on the side of the road.
The TV was obviously years old, no longer in “new” or even good condition, but with a little tinkering and rearranging the wires they got it to work.
The lights from the cars blurred around her and she ran down one block to another. Her heart was pounding and she laughed. It was a small thing, a little manic and mad to anyone who saw her. But it was nice, she hadn’t smiled a lot recently. She was growing up, a teenager now. And apparently, the joy gets sucked out of everything when you’re a teenager.
It was the times like this she loved. The hours of the night where it was just her and her thoughts. Honestly, Carina preferred being alone over hanging out with other people. Sometimes the company was nice, Kai and Matilda were really two of the only people she didn’t mind being around.
Sometimes, when she and Caelum stayed up late at night, they’d talk. With her brother, she could practically say anything. Sometimes she had to worry about what she said, but there was a type of vulnerability that she couldn’t quite place that came in the dead of the night. It was a safe to know that whatever they said wouldn’t be repeated.
Sometimes they wouldn’t talk and just sit there in silence. That was okay. The company is what they’re both looking for, not the words that come with it.
The rain was coming down harder, and she grinned. The night had started out clear, if not a little cloudy. The rain was a nice surprise. It was probably well into the morning, at least 2 or 3 am. It was late, but there was a good chance that Kai was still awake.
Kai lived just on the outskirts of town. She had just moved out of her motor home with her dad. Carina was glad they decided to stay in their small town. It wasn’t much, certainly no amusement parks or that many town festivals, but it was home.
Kai’s house was on the cheaper side, one story, and mysterious stains on the walls. It was homey though, more than Carina’s own house at least. The Robinson’s were more a family to her than hers was anyways.
But that wasn’t surprising. It wouldn’t be hard to be better than her own family, the standards weren’t all that high.
It didn’t take too long to get to her house if you knew the right paths. Carina ran through a path that was in between two separated some bushes. The dirt had turned to mud from the rain, coating her feet. She was careful not to fall and stain her sweater, but the cuffs of her sweats were already covered in the dark, sticky substance.
She didn’t care much, stains give character, they show where you’ve been and how you choose to live your life. Whether that be reckless, careful, or somewhere in between, your clothes tell a story. Whether you want them to or not, they do.
It didn’t take long for Carina to arrive at Kai’s house. The large tree in the front with the eccentric drawings on the window made it noticeable from around the block. Carina quickly climbed on top of the trashcans before jumping and grabbing onto the ledge of Kai’s window. Luckily, she’s learned how to be quiet when she needed to not be noticed.
Perching on the thin window sill, she tapped on the glass impatiently. The light of the room was a soft green behind the curtains, thanks to Kai’s LED lights strung around the room.
After a moment, Carina sees the curtains shift a tiny bit, revealing an all too familiar eye looking at her. She huffed impatiently, poking the glass right over Kai’s eye, to signal “let me in,” because really she was a few seconds away from falling off the slippery window sill.
Kai opened the window, rolling her chair backwards to make room for Carina to climb into the house. She immediately made a puddle on the hardwood floor and smiled apologetically to the redhead.
Kai rolled her eyes fondly before standing up.
“It’s nice to see you, too.”
“The pleasure is mine.” Carina gave Kai a mock bow, but really she only managed to make a bigger mess.
“Hold on, hold on, stay there.” Kai held her hands out towards Carina, as if that made her words easier to understand. Not that they were particularly difficult to understand in the first place. “I’m going to go get you a towel.”
As Kai left the room Carina looked around. She’d been here a 100 times or more already, but she neve did get old of seeing at the polaroid pictures that covered her walls. There were pictures of Kai and herself, mot of them involving something stupid going on. Some were of Kai and her dad, one of Carina’s favorites was where Mr.Robinson has his around her, because he had said, “you’re just as much my daughter as Kai is. You’re over enough to practically live at my house already.”
Carina loved that memory, she felt that she had truly belonged somewhere for the first time since her mom died when she was four.
Kai walks back into the room with a large fluffy, green towel in her hands.
“My favorite! How did you know?” Carina slaps an over the top smile on her face, making it hard for both of them to not start laughing.
“Only because you try to steal it every time you come over.” Kai grinned, then promptly threw the towel at Carina, causing her to stumble into what she now noticed was the still open window.
“Oi! Rude!” Carina complained. “Just for that I’m not closing the window now.”
“Ri.”
“Kai.”
“Close the window.”
“Let me think about it.” Carina hummed for a moment, pretending to scratch her head before looking back at Kai. “Yeah, no, my answer is still no.”
Kai groaned, stalking past Carina to close and lock the window for her.
By the time Carina is dry and in clean clothes, it’s half past 2 am.
“How’d you know I wasn’t asleep?” Kai asked, seeming to finally remember the question she forgot.
“You’re a raging insomniac Kai, it wasn’t hard.” Carina laughed at the affronted look on Kai’s face. “But then again, so am I, so, we can suffer together.”
The two of them traded mindless banter before diving into deeper subjects.
“You know the gangs that have been popping up around town?”
Carina nodded. Of course she knew, everyone knew. It was all over the news, reports of someone gone missing, robberies, deaths. It was hard to escape the threat of violence that ran throughout the city. Her older brother and her dad belonged to one.
There were two major gangs that ruled the city. The Riders and The Silence were enemies, but the two seemed to have a truce going on at the moment. Her family was to join the The Riders, in a year Jack and her would be recruited to join.
“Yeah.” She trailed off. “Yeah I know.”
Kai nodded slowly, “What’s going to happen to us?”
Carina shrugged. “We join one, go off to college, and then when we come back we hope they’re still together.”
“I don’t want to join one though.”
Carina’s head snapped up, her long black hair covering half of her face until she moved it with a flick of her wrist.
“You know we don’t get a choice Kai. This is Godric we’re talking about. If you try to leave, or try to stay neutral they’ll kill you. Anyone unclaimed for is fair game.”
Kai agreed solemnly. “I know… just… I was talking to Willow about this earlier too. I don’t want to hurt anyone, and if I have to join one I think I want to join the The Silence. They’re the least violent in the town.”
Carina felt the breath leave her lungs. If she joined the Silence, then they would have to be enemies. Conversing with the opposite gang was dangerous and against the rules. If you were caught then you were a trader, and would have to work your way to earn your leaders trust back.
Carina exhaled shakingly. “I guess we have to make the most of these last few months then, huh?”
Kai thought for a second. “What if… What if you came with me? What if you joined me and Willow, and we could probably get Matilda to come with us too.”
Carina was shaking her head before Kai even stopped talking.
“We both know I’m joining The Riders. My families there, and I can’t leave them. That would danger all of us.”
Kai looked like a kicked puppy, it made Carina feel slightly bad, but not bad enough to make her want to change her mind.
“Just think about it, yeah?” Kai asked.
“I will.” Carina agreed. She wasn’t going to, she made up her mind years ago.
It wasn’t until her dad brought it up that Carina really thought about it. He told her that he wanted her to join The Silence. It was safer, and wouldn’t push her as hard.
Not many people really knew of her anyways. They knew Caelum and Castor, but at the younger twin she was usually forgot about. Her slipping away to join The Silence wouldn’t be very hard.
She considered it, and she agreed to it. Joining The Silence wouldn’t be the worse thing in the world, and maybe she’d get to keep an eye on her friends.
Carina called Kai after school the next day, letting her know that she was in. The plan was for Carina to move in with Kai the day before her 18th birthday, that way when The Riders came for Castor they wouldn’t find her.
She knows it’s for the safety of all of them and that she has to do this, but it hurts to know that the next time she sees her twin is probably going to be across the way when someone is trying to kill him. They’re going to have to fight each other and that’s a horrifying thought.
Moving into Kai’s house went smoothly. Kai’s dad welcomed her with open arms, getting her settled in the room next to Kai’s. It stops being labeled as the guest room and is now Carina’s room instead.
Waking up in the middle of the night and not hearing the pages in a book turning or seeing the dim lamp that Castor used to read was concerning at first before she remembered where she was.
Carina never thought that she’d miss that house, but now all she wants is to be able to go home. The Robinson’s house isn’t her home. She thought it was but it wasn’t, not when her brothers weren’t there. Not when the smell of oil lamps and cinnamon didn’t fill every room.
The walls in the room are a blank white. There are no pictures hanging on the walls, and no shelves holding her trophies. It’s a change, she can't tell if it’s good or bad but it’s there.
Keeping her family history underwraps is a lot harder than Carina thought it would be. Since she moved to Godric she knew she was going to join The Riders. She memorized their schedule, how they worked, what types of things they pulled.
The Silence was different, and she wasn’t prepared to join them. Gangs were hard, and they were dangerous, but sometimes without a little danger you aren’t gong to make it out alive.
Carina slipped up more, making a reference to the riders every now and then before trying her best to cover it up immediately. She saw the looks that everyone else was giving her. They saw her as a spy, a threat. She was treading on thin ice and if she wasn’t careful then she’d probably sink.
Kai’s the only one who knows who Carina’s family is. Luckily Taylor was a common enough last name that name many people were able to make the connection. Matilda and Willow were both friends with Carina since elementary school, but they never talked about their home lives. Not because they were all bad, but because they wanted to keep their lives separate. It was an unspoken rule amongst everyone in Godric. Everyone’s hiding their demons, you don’t bring up what doesn’t need to be discussed.
There are some people who tryst Carina though, they don’t see her as a spy so much as someone who does their research. After all, from what she’s let slip about the riders wouldn’t be that hard to figure out if you want to know.
Kai, Willow, and Matilda were always together. They vowed to fight with each other and to protect each other, if one was going down then they all were. But Carina strayed a little from her group, meeting Jacob and Lewis.
They were twins, it made her heart ache thinking about how much she missed her twin. Of course she couldn’t say that, settling on asking them what it was like to be a twin instead. They were questions she herself had answered what felt like 100 times over, but she asked anyways.
The three of them formed a close bond, and Carina was starting to choose her own family of those she could trust.
The twins started coming around more, merging into he friend group with Willow and Kai and Matilda. They all got along well, and shared the same views on a lot of things.
She hadn’t meant to let her guard down so easily, she didn’t even realize it was slipping until after she said it.
“Right, me and my brother Castor used to get mistaken for each other all the time. At one point we even got the same haircut just to mess with people.” She laughed. Suddenly the friend group went silent and she saw Kai wince in her peripheral vision.
“I-I mean,” Carina couldn’t think of a lie out of this, but she didn’t get time to think of one anyways.
“You have a brother?” Lewis asked.
“You have a twin?” Jacob asked louder, gaining the attention of some people sitting at some of the surrounding tables in the small cafe they were in.
Kai and Carina hurriedly went to shush them.
“I, uh, I didn’t mean to say that?”
Matilda, Willow, and the twins all had their jaws dropped.
“How did we not know you had a brother? A twin at that?” Willow asked. They looked hurt at the thought of Carina keeping that from them.
“I never talked about him I guess…” Carina trailed off. She wasn’t sure how much she should reveal to them. She could tell them that he was dead, but that would dig her into a bigger web of lies. Or she could tell them about her family, and hopefully they wouldn’t turn on her for having outside connections to other gangs.
The waiter decided that right then was a good time to bring their drinks and food, placing them on the small table in front of them.
The best course in action would be to just come clean, tell them about the burden she’s been carrying and let it all out. But not there in that Cafe, it was too dangerous when anyone could hear her.
“Later.” She said, picking up her tea and swirling the cup in her hands a few times. “I’ll explain everything later.” And that efficiently put and end to their conversation .
Later she did tell them. They met at the twins house, which was an apartment that was near the local college in Godric. She told them about her parents, howo her mom died when she was four and she moved from Italy to America. How she lost her eldest brother a few years after when gangs first started popping up and he father made the wrong people mad. She told them about her father and brothers being in their rival gangs and having to move out the day before her 17th birthday.
Willow looked at her in pity, like she as the victim here. The twins seems to be torn in wanting to see the good in her but seeing the trader there at the same time, she couldn’t blame them. Matilda was calm and stoic as always. She was always hard to read, but it was just now that Carina realized she hadn’t said a thing the whole time. It was concerning, but she just had to hope that they all kept her secrets.
The news came suddenly. Everyone could feel the tension that was swarming the two gangs, increasing until it broke. Everyone was alerted that there was to be a braw at midnight, they’d meet in the back alleys hidden behind a run down soda shoppe.
The rules were no weapons, but there was always someone who didn’t listen. Everyone wouls end up bring something, but you wouldn’t use it until someone else forced you to.
The clock was ticking down, the group that had soon become a family were sitting on the floor in the twin’s apartment. They also had loads of nervous energy built up in them, and by the time the clock hit 11:45 pm they were shrugging on their coats and heading out the door.
They met up with a group of others a little ways away from the alley with 7 minutes to spare. Quickly the group grew and most members showed up.
Blair caught a glance of familiar black hair and red shoes slip around the corner of a building. Looks like her family was here.
It all happened in a blur. One moment everyone was yelling and running towards the old alley way. The shouts echoed off the walls and amplified it enough to make her dizzy. The next thing she knew someone was coming after her, knife raised in the air and ready to strike. She ducked, going in to defend herself but the other person was too fast, already changing directions and then she was trapped. She was pinned against the wall, crowded from each side so there was no escape.
She was singled out, and probably wouldn’t make it out of there. She wasn’t going to. That is, until her brothers eyes locked with hers, and then he was pulling the man off of her and he was attacked instead.
Traitor, they thought he was a traitor. And Carina barely caught him before he fell to the ground. His clothes were staining red, which contrasted against his pale skin.
Carina cried.
She cried because how could people be so- so ruthless? How can the kill, and kill, and kill, but they never showed remorse. They didn’t care. They did it for the money, the accomplishment, the fame. That did it so they could say that they- they were the one that made the light leave that kid’s eyes.
Because that’s what they are. They’re kids fighting a losing battle, trying to stay afloat but everyone just takes and takes and takes, drowning them in violence and hostility that they might not get back up from.
It’s always a gamble getting up after you’ve fallen. They don’t know if they’re going to make it, or if it was even worth it in the end afterwards.
The world is crumbling around them and no one is doing anything to save it. It’s sick. People are flying, gangs are forming and growing, and soon they’re all going to go after each other. There’s going to be a lot of bloodshed until only on gang is left standing.
And for what? To show dominance, to say that you’re better then everyone else? The world isn’t going to stop spinning on its axis while everyone stands around and tears each other apart. By the time someone comes out victorious, it’ll be too late. There’s no coming back from that. There’s no revival when you’ve already let something important die.
She tried to hold onto to what she had left of her brother, but his eyes had already slipped shut and his breathing was shallow. Kai had crossed over to her at one point, and together they carried him out of the danger area.
Hospitals wouldn’t treat gang related injuries, they already knew that. But even if they did they doubted that they could save them.
That night is filled with tears, blood, and anger. She doesn’t remember what happened after that, she doesn’t know how she got back into Kai’s house or falling asleep. She does remember the dreams though. The bravery written over Castor’s face. He wasn’t scared to die, not if it was for family.
She should have saved him, should’ve been strong enough. She promised herself that no one else was going to die for her.
The world moves on, whether your ready or not. At least that’s what she tells herself. She was supposed to start college soon, moving into the dorms was supposed happen in a week. She’s packed, and is ready to leave Godric.
Kai is going to local college here in town, but Carina wanted to leave. She wanted to get in the car and drive. But she wouldn’t leave Kai here without looking back, so she chose a college a couple states away but within driving distance.
That way she could still come back afterwards for Kai.
Leaving for college was hard. Her dad wasn’t there to see her off, and Castor wasn’t coming with her. Rigel wasn’t there to make them ramen at 12 am and Kai was staying here. Kai was there for everything in her life, having been best friends since kindergarten.
Mr. Robinson drove her to college, and helped her carry things into her dorm. After everything was in place she made sure to thank him for being more of a dad to her then her own was.
College was stressful and there was a lot of pressure she put only herself to be perfect. In Godric she learned how to handle stress. Sometimes that involved shutting down and getting her work down by going through the motions. Another thing she worked on was managing her time.
Although after Castors death she wanted his memory to live on. She picked up some of his hobbies. Reading books, memorizing quotes, he always wanted to be one of the top students in every school he went to.
It was a few weeks after school started, she got a call from her dad. She wasn’t aware he still had her number but then again there was no reason that he wouldn’t.
He informed her of Castor’s funeral date, the gangs agreed she was allowed to come, anyone who knew him was allowed to attend. Carina broke down again that day.
The day before the funeral she drove back to Godric. She spent that night at Kai’s house, where the three of them—Carina, Kai, and Mr.Robinson—would leave together to go to the funeral. Seeing her brother in the open casket was heart wrenching. He died for her and she could have prevented that.
It was her brother who took her place, and she knew it was her fault. No one was going to die for her, she’d give up her own life first.
Four years passed quickly. Most of them were full of studying and classes, every now and then the friend group would meet up, coming from their different colleges and states to get a cup of coffee or do something dumb. Occasionally Carina came home to join in the rumbles and brawls between gangs.
She grew to love the adrenaline that came with it. The thought of hurting someone else didn’t register much anymore as long as it never went too far.
Coming back after she graduated college was something she never thought that she would do. She always assumed that after college that was it, she was free. But without Kai and Willow and Matilda, she would never truly be free.
So she rented a car, and drove from her new apartment back to Godric for the final time. The three of her friends were waiting at the Robinson’s house. They had all moved in there after the death Mr. Robinson. He was battling cancer these past few years, and after holding out for a long time he lost. The big house was lonely without other occupants so Willow and Matilda offered to move in.
They left Carina’s room alone while she was gone, because even if she wasn’t living there that was still her room. She was still welcome back anytime.
Carina rolled up to the house, taking a good look at it. She pulled her keys from her bag, unlocking the door. She wanted to see the house one last time.
Matilda, Willow, and Kai were sitting around the table, eating oatmeal and scrolling through their phones.
“Ready?” She asked. Kai looked up, smiling.
“Let’s get out of here.”
The four of them drove off and away from the violent town. They were finally free and didn’t have to peer around every corner every time they went somewhere. And if Carina stopped and dropped a letter off a her father’s house then no one had to know.

Thin Ice Pt4 || Peter Parker x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N and Peter spend some alone time and secrets get revealed.
Word Count: 3.4k
Author’s note: This is literally the fastest I’ve ever uploaded but you guys gave me so much support from the last chapter and honestly it made my day. Thank you guys for being so sweet!!!
Warnings: Mild swearing
part one || part two || part three || part four || part five || part six || to be continued
For the past day, your friends and the rest of the decathlon team were stuck indoors waiting out the blizzard that was supposedly coming your way. However, by some miracle, the resort wasn’t hit too badly and your itinerary had only been pushed back a day.
Everyone was excited to go skiing more but you had other thoughts on your mind. You weren’t sure what to do about Brad and better yet, you couldn’t stop thinking about Peter. You only got a couple of glances at him between meals and even then, it was like he was avoiding your gaze.
You wondered if Brad had told Peter that you had kissed and the thought alone made you mad all over again.
“ You okay Y/N?” Betty asked as you looked down at your plastic fork that was bent from how hard you were gripping it.
You nodded and inhaled deeply as you put the fork down and started to eat your waffles with your spoon,” I’m really tired. I just want to go back to bed.”
From your dining booth, you could look directly at Peter, eating away with Ned without a care in the world. You watched as Peter laughed so hard, he held his sides in pain.
Before Peter could catch your gaze, you turned your attention back to your friends and crossed your arms.
“ You’ve been sleeping for most of the trip. Ever since that night the boys came over you’ve just been in bed. You even missed the huskies that they brought to the lobby!” Cindy said as she felt your forehead,” are you sick? I have dayquil in my bag.”
You swatted her hand away and looked down at your half-finished breakfast,” I’m fine. You guys should just go on ahead and ski without me. I’m not really up for it.”
MJ eyed you suspiciously as Betty and Cindy continued to interrogate you.
“ But you love snowboarding! What’s up with you cause something is obviously bothering you,” Cindy sighed as she put her hand on your shoulder,” is this about Brad?”
You put your hoodie over your head and rested your head against the table,”Can we please never say that dude’s name again.”
MJ shook her head and brought out her phone from under the table. Unlike her friends, MJ quickly put the pieces together and came to the conclusion that you needed something to cheer you up. She went to her messages and sent a text to Peter.
MJ: Something is up with Y/N & it has something to do with brad - u gotta get her out of the hotel room before she throws herself off the side of the mountain
MJ sent the message and looked over at Peter’s table, waiting for him to get the message. Peter’s phone buzzed and when he went to check, his face dropped and he looked over in your direction.
Peter: what did he do to her??? Did her hurt her???
Peter: I’ve never seen her like this before
Peter: what if she doesn’t want to hang out with me :(
MJ rolled her eyes and typed out vigorously.
MJ: This is ur chance to get alone time with her dumbass! Think of something NOW!
Peter: okokok but what about ned? I can’t leave him alone
MJ: we’ll hang out with him - I’m sure betty wants some action with ned too
Peter put his phone down and looked over in your table’s direction. He watched as Betty poked the side of your head but you didn’t even flinch.
After you went into the bathroom with Brad alone, Peter thought his chances of winning you over would be finished. That whole night Peter tossed and turned in his bed as he thought of what you two could’ve been doing in there yet at the same time, he tried to get those thoughts out of his mind completely.
Even though the thoughts pained him,  Peter wanted to find out what happened that night and why you were so upset about it. It made him feel a tad bit better cause you feeling so bummed meant that maybe nothing happened between you and Brad but at the same time, what if Brad did something to you that made you feel this way?
The thought only made Peter fume silently as he told Ned everything that was going on. Once Ned hesitantly agreed, Peter shot another text to MJ and told her he had a plan.
MJ looked down at her phone and got up from the booth,” I think we should head out now. You sure you don’t wanna come Y/N?”
You raised your head from off the table and nodded,” I’ll be fine. I’ll catch you guys for lunch.”
You didn’t bother saying goodbye as you shuffled out of the booth and made your way to the elevators. As you got into the elevator and pushed your floor number, you leaned against the corner and closed your eyes.
There was so much on your mind and it kept eating away at you. After a lifetime of being friends, Brad sabotaged it and threw all of those great memories away over a stupid kiss. You felt guilty too because maybe you egged him on in a way and that you should’ve told him not to kiss you at all instead of falling for a “cheek kiss.”
As the elevator doors closed, Peter slipped through at the last second and you opened your eyes.
“Oh hey, Peter!” You said as you stood up straighter,” I thought you left with everyone else.”
Peter’s heart was racing as he pushed his brown curls off of his forehead,” Y-yeah about that...I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today?”
Your heart skipped a beat and deep down, you knew you had too much going on in your head right now. At the same time, you didn’t mind spending more time with him and you could use a distraction.
“ Sure, I would love to,” You finally said as Peter smiled nervously,” what did you have in mind?”
“ There’s this terrain park at the top of the mountain and I thought it would be cool watching people do tricks and stuff,” Peter said as the elevator stopped at your floor,” we would need to take the ski lift up there if that’s okay.”
Peter followed you out of the elevator as you nodded happily,” Yeah, that sounds like fun. I’ll go get ready but I’ll meet you in the lobby in like...thirty minutes?”
Peter looked down at his phone to check the time and smiled,” Great. I’ll see you soon then.”
As you both parted ways,  Peter walked slowly to his room so he could make sure you got to your hotel room safely. Once you got into your room, Peter raced to his room on the opposite side so he could get dressed.
After you got ready, you practically rushed to the lobby to find Peter nervously tapping his fingers against his thigh. When he saw you, he did a double-take before standing up.
“ Ready?” Peter asked as you nodded.
The two of you walked side by side out of the lobby and through the shops as you both talked about the trip. While the two of you were talking, your phone buzzed and you casually pulled it out to check to see who it was.
Brad: We need to talk
“ Have I ever told you that I really like your phone case?” Peter said as he pointed towards it.
You turned off your phone and stuffed it into your pocket,” Are you making fun of me for liking Spiderman?”
Peter shook his head and laughed. It was really strange to see merch of himself out there and he never really knew of the impact he had on people until little kids started dressing up as Spiderman for Halloween.
He felt like a celebrity but the closest comparison he could think of was Hannah Montana.
“ No I’m not. I’m just surprised you don’t have a Captain America one or an Iron Man on it instead.”
You and Peter both made it to the line for the ski-lift and while Peter was excited to get some alone time with you, he was nervous that he would ruin things.
“ Puh-lease. Spiderman is by far the most superior avenger. I used to have a poster hung up in my room but my brother told me it was creepy so I took it down...I understand though. I guess it just reminds my brother of too much.”
“ What do you mean?” Peter asked as the line moved up.
“ I don’t really tell people this,” You sighed but figured why not,” but a couple of months ago, my brother and his girlfriend were walking home from the movies and these guys pulled a gun on them. They tried to rob them and they even beat my brother in front of his girlfriend. He thought they were going to kill him but Spiderman came and saved them. He’s thankful for being saved but I don’t think he ever got over how scary it all was.”
Peter felt his heart sink to his chest. He remembered that night vividly because of how hard the girlfriend was crying. He always thought it would get easier and that maybe he would get desensitized over time but he remembered every encounter like it was his last.
“ I’m sorry... I didn’t know he was your brother,” Peter said as he quickly caught his mistake,” I mean I-I remember hearing about it somehow...but that sounds terrible. Is he doing okay now?”
You shrugged and let out a puff of air,” He seems fine. I think he’s so stressed about his first year of college that he doesn’t really think about it anymore. It shook me up too. I was never really afraid of crime and all that but I guess when you live in New York, you’re always paranoid about when the next attack will be.”
You watched Peter’s solemn expression and you nudged him lightly,” I didn’t mean to bring down the mood. I just wanted to defend myself on why I love Spiderman so much. I just wish I could thank him, you know, for everything.”
Even though you weren’t looking at Peter, he still smiled towards you.
“ I think he knows. Trust me.”
Once it was your turn to go on the lift, you and Peter walked over and waited for the seat to come from behind. You both sat down as you moved the bar down to rest against your laps.
As it brought you further and further into the air, you noticed Peter gripping the bar.
“ Are you afraid of heights Pete?” You teased as Peter shook his head.
“ I’ve just never been on a ski lift before. I mean, on the bunny slope sure but it was way smaller. This isn’t even that sturdy,” Peter said as he shook the bar softly, causing the lift to creak,” fuck we are really high up.”
You looked around and you couldn’t help but smile. You loved seeing the whole mountain in fresh powder as Snowboarders glided down effortlessly below you. You felt like you were in your element and even though your cheeks were already rosy from the cold, you felt like you could stay up here forever.
“ It’s been a while since I’ve seen you smile like that,” Peter said as he tried his best to ignore the height,” it’s nice.”
For a moment, you had forgotten about all the problems that were lurking in your head and it was all thanks to Peter. You loved how easy carrying a conversation was with him and you would’ve never told anyone about what happened with your brother but something about Peter just made you instantly warm up to him.
You exhaled deeply as you leaned back in your seat,” I’ve just been going through a rough patch that’s all.”
Peter moved his legs up and down before turning back to you nervously,” Did Brad do something? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to but I’m here for you if you want to talk.”
You wanted to tell Peter everything but you couldn’t do that without getting your feelings revealed. Not only that but if Peter did like you and he found out Brad had kissed you, it would change things and you liked the way things were.
“ Brad and I have just been friends for so long, you know? When you’ve known someone ever since you were in diapers, you start to let things slide.  Maybe that’s why I always make excuses for him and his behavior sometimes,” you sighed as you turned to Peter,” you know, you sometimes remind me of him.”
Peter was quick with a comment as he shifted in his seat carefully,” Is that supposed to be a compliment?”
You playfully rolled your eyes as you tilted your head to the side to get a better look at Peter,” Well maybe what Brad used to be. On mother’s day, he always takes my mom out to brunch because my brother and I can never wake up early. I see that in you, you do things out of the kindness of your heart and you always do what’s right no matter what. You’ve been through a lot these past couple of years and you haven’t let it corrupt you or your heart.”
Peter shrugged as he tried to cover up his blush,” You got all of that from just a couple of days?”
“ I know we weren’t close before the trip Pete but I’m not blind. You’re literally the most selfless person I know,” you took a beat and decided to test the waters,” That’s why all the girls like you so much.”
Peter could feel his ears and neck flush as he laughed nervously before sighing quietly,” Girls don’t like guys like me.”
I like you.
“ That’s not true and you know it. What about Liz and MJ? Plus I heard Vanessa and her friends in gym think you’re hot. You’re funny, super smart, kind, and cute; you’re the whole package. Any girl would be lucky enough to be with you.”
You didn’t know it, but Peter could sense how fast your heart was beating and even though you tried to hide it, your voice trembled.
Peter shifted in his seat yet again but this time, his body leaned closer to yours,“ I guess I don’t care about all those girls...There’s only one girl that’s been on my mind.”
You could feel yourself turn into putty and your heart was racing like never before. You couldn’t believe what was happening and you didn’t even bother to hide the blush that was creeping onto your face.
You studied his face carefully and for a moment, it was like time had stopped just for the two of you. A rush of adrenaline pumped through your veins as you rested your hand on his thigh before pressing your lips against his.
Once your lips touched, Peter didn’t hesitate and immediately kissed you back. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that Peter had never felt before.
Your heart fluttered inside your chest before pulling away.
“ Just to make sure, I’m the girl that’s been on your mind right?” You teased Peter bit his lip and nodded.
“ Yes Y/N and I’ll prove it to you,” Peter pulled you closer to him as he kissed you again, smiling against your lips.
                                                   -----------------
“ Thanks again for today, I liked spending time with you,” You smiled sweetly as you and Peter walked hand in hand back to your hotel rooms.
“ Me too but I’m just glad you had a great time. I know you’ve had a lot on your mind lately. You know I’m here if you need anything,” Peter said as you both stopped in front of your room.
You looked at Peter one last time before pressing a soft kiss on his cheek. You squeezed his hand before sliding in your room key.
“ I’ll see you later?”
Peter hummed a quick mhm and once you closed the door, Peter made a triumphant fist in the air.
You pressed your back against the hotel door and squealed happily like a schoolgirl. You took off your coat and hung it up as MJ looked up from her book.
“ I’ve never said this to anyone but wow you’re actually glowing,” MJ grinned as she patted a spot beside her.
You weren’t planning on telling MJ what went down but you felt like you would burst if you had to keep it in any longer. You told her everything from what happened in the elevator all the way until he walked you to the room.
MJ listened patiently and after you had finished your story, Cindy stepped out of the bathroom.
“ Hey Cindy, you’ll never guess what happened!” You beamed as you sat up from the bed.
Your face dropped when you saw that Cindy’s face was less than excited.
“ What’s wrong?”
Cindy let in a sharp breath as she held up her phone,” I think you need to see this.”
You and MJ shared a look before you got up from your seat and came over to Cindy. She hesitated before opening up her most recent message from Brad.
Your heart plummeted straight into your stomach as you reached for the phone slowly in disbelief.
It was a picture of you and Brad kissing in the bathroom and from the angle, it looked like you were actually kissing Brad back. That’s why he wanted you to close your eyes, he was setting up the camera.
“ You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” you whispered as you felt tears welt up in your eyes. Your mind immediately thought of Peter and you started to feel dizzy,” please tell me that he only sent it to you.”
MJ got up from her spot on the bed and shook her head,” That fucking prick...Y/N...he sent it to the decathlon group chat.”

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
You hadn’t slept at all, not that it mattered. Tonight was supposed to be your engagement party. Supposed to be.
You hadn’t talked to your fiancé since Monday and you weren’t expecting him to start calling you today. You knew the party was off but you thought the engagement might still have some hope. But even that was wishful thinking.
You sat on one of the armchairs in your living room when you got tired of rolling around in your bed. The sun was coming up. You felt like you’d been awake much longer than you actually had. The seconds turned to minute. Minutes to hours. Hours to eternities. But still you didn’t feel tired.
You wondered if Draco was sleeping easily or if he were staring at the same sunrise. You tore your eyes away from the window and looked down at the coffee table. There was an invitation to the party. You almost laughed as you picked it up.
Narcissa has specially designed them. A white card with a nice black font detailing the time, place, and occasion. Maybe she had been more excited than either of you about the news. You couldn’t imagine how disappointed she was now.
-
Draco hadn’t slept. He didn’t like sleeping alone anymore, which was apart of the trouble of falling in love. It made loneliness harder.
He’d laid in bed until the first hints of sunlight came through his window. Then he drifted out of his room, out of his wing, and through the halls. When he reached the ballroom, he was surprised to see house elf’s already busy at work. It was barely 7 am and they were already running around sweeping and dusting.
He walked through the ballroom, getting assorted greeting and congratulations that he absentmindedly replied to. When he reached the other side of the room, he threw the doors to the balcony open, basking the room in the gold light of sunrise.
He stepped onto the balcony, breathing in the fresh air. But it didn’t do anything to clear his mind. This entire week all he could think about was you. And now he was standing on the balcony where you had once kissed him on the cheek. Giving him only enough satisfaction to make him miss you when you were gone.
That must’ve all been planned. He gripped the edge of the balcony until his knuckles turned white. He didn’t even hear his mother coming up behind him until she squealed into his ear.
“Good morning!” He turned around to look at her, flashing a lazy smile. “It’s engagement party day! Oh, I’m so excited.”
When Draco didn’t reply, her smile faded. “What’s wrong dear?” She reaches up to cup his cheek and he leaned into the touch. “You look like you haven’t slept.”
“Yeah, I uh...didn’t get much sleep last night.” He couldn’t pretend to smile anymore, so he turned around. Leaning against the railing he could see the entire expanse of neatly trimmed lawn.
“I’m sure it’s just excitement, right?” Her hand ran up and down his back comfortingly.
“Sure.”
“When can I expect (Y/N)?”
“ ‘M not sure.”
Narcissa studies his face for a moment, there was something lurking behind his eyes but he shifted them in the other direction before she could recognize it. For once, she decided against prying.
“Well, let me know when she gets here.” He nodded. He didn’t turn around until he heard the click of her heels coming from the ballroom.
He was glad to finally be alone again.
-
You laid around the house for a few more hours, trying to take your mind off what was supposed to take place that afternoon. You never thought you’d be so disappointed to miss a party at Malfoy manor. Finally, at a quarter past one, you dragged yourself into the kitchen to make some coffee.
Halfway through brewing the coffee, your phone rang. You lazily picked it up without checking to see who it was because you didn’t think it mattered.
“Hello—”
“Where are you? My mum’s running around here like she’s mad. It’s giving me a headache, someone needs to come talk some sense into her.”
“Draco, I...” You stopped mid-sentence, not really knowing what else to say. “I...” You tried again to compose a sentence but nothing came.
You took a deep breath and tried to focus on composing your thoughts. “Draco, I didn’t know...today was still happening.”
There was a pause on the other end of the line. “Can you just get here.” He sounded angry or at the very least annoyed. You heard him take a deep breath. “Please,” he added calmly.
“Of course.”
“Thanks.” And before you could reply, he had already hung up. You sat your phone down and took a deep breath. You only allowed yourself a moment to process before you abandoned your still-brewing coffee and gotta ready as quickly as you could.
-
You could hear Narcissa screaming, probably at some poor house-elf, as she made her way down the hallway to unlock the door. You couldn’t quite make out the words she was saying, but you could tell it wasn’t good. You only caught the end of her sentence as she threw the door open.
“—and I want that done now!” When she was finally finished shouting, she turned to look at you. For a moment she looked exhausted and annoyed, then she noticed it was you and her face lit up with a smile. “(Y/N)! Thank Merlin you’re finally here, I was beginning to think you’d got cold feet.” She took a step back so you could walk through the doorway and beckoned you forward.
She closed the door behind you and put her hand on your shoulder, which made you stiffen slightly. “I’m so glad you’re here. Sorry about the yelling, today’s been really hectic, you know. Just trying to pull everything together last minute.” She let out a bit of shrill laughter. “And Draco’s been stuck in his room all day. I hope you’ll make sure he’s dressed and out of his room in time.”
“Of course.” She gave your shoulder a squeeze then she was off, heels clicking down the hallway as she started calling the names of whatever house-elf she needed.
Finding the way to Draco’s wing would’ve once been a struggle, but now you got there with no difficulty. You stood outside his door, trying to slow your breathing. Finally, you raised your hand and knocked. The sound seemed much louder in your head than it probably was.
“Come in.” His voice was faint from inside the room. You opened the door and slowly walked in. Draco has his back to you as he stood in the mirror buttoning his shirt. Your eyes met in the mirror but other than that he didn’t acknowledge you.
Finally, he said, “I talked to my mother and I know you were telling the truth. About the money and how you felt about me. I believe you.”
“But I shouldn’t have lied.” His fingers paused on his buttons and he turned to look at you.
“But you did.” He started walking towards you.
“I know but that doesn’t change the fact that it was wrong. And I was stupid, I was so stupid and—”
“That’s what they say about love isn’t it,” he mumbled. His eyes trailed over you as you continued to ramble. You stopped talking.
“What?”
“ ‘Love makes people do stupid things’ or whatever the saying is.” He smiled at you. “And I’d say we’ve both been complete idiots.” You laughed. “Seriously, we’ve both almost ruined our relationship.”
“I’m so sorry.” You put your head on his chest and his hand came up to the small of your back.
“I know.”
“If I could take it all back—”
“We can’t change the past, all we can do is be better in the future and I’m determined to make this work. ‘Cause this didn’t start with you and my mother’s little scheme.” His other hand moved to cup your cheek and he moved you head up to look at him. “I have been in love with you ever since Hogwarts and no matter what happened we were always gonna end up here.”
You wrapped your arms around him, pulling yourself further into him. “We’re going to have to build trust but that’s fine because I know we’re both willing to do it. I’m going to have to work on myself. And of course, you’ll have to make it up to me but it’ll be a longgggg honeymoon, so I’m sure you’ll figure something out.” He smirked when you hit his back and hid your laughter by pressing against his chest.
He kissed the top of your head. “Someday, we’ll be telling our kids this story and laughing.”
You looked up at him and smiled. “Someday.” You reaches for his buttons and continued to button his shirt. It was a soft black shirt that went nicely with his black slacks and the suit jacket that was draped across the arm chair in the corner of the room. It went even better with your plain black dress. It had thin straps and a slit that went up far enough to make Draco state.
When you finally buttoned the last button, you looked up at him. Your hand was still lingering around his neck and you reached up farther to touch the back of his neck. Your fingers reached up to touched his soft, bleach blonder hair. Just a touch.
Without you even having to pull him towards you, Draco’s lips were already on yours.
-
You were too distracted to hear the knock on the door but you did hear Narcissa’s voice. “Draco? (Y/N)?” You sat up quickly. You looked down at Draco’s wide eyes, looking like child who had just been caught doing something bad. You’d only been kissing—well, making out— but it was probably a good thing Narcissa hadn’t came in.
“Guests are arriving, you should probably join us.”
There was a pause as you looked at each other, wondering who was going to answer. Quickly, Draco shouted, “We’ll be down in just a minute.”
Another pause and then she said, “Okay.” You didn’t quite breath again until you couldn’t hear the click of her heels anymore. You sighed and laid your head on Draco’s shoulders. Your thighs were on either side of his hips and he had his hands placed firmly on top of them.
“I know, but we’ve got all the time in the world.”
“I know.” You places a gentle kiss on his neck and after he squeezed your thighs once more, you rolled off of him.
You got up and stood in front of the mirror, hoping your hair wasn’t too messed up. You straightened your dress and began to reapply your lipstick. Draco came up behind you, tucking his shirt back into his pants where it came up slightly. Once you were finished you turned around and flattened his hair which was now ruffled.
With a smile, you reached up to wipe some of your lipstick from edges of his mouth. Then you turned around, taking in the image of you both together. He stood behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. You put your hands over his.
In the end, everything had worked out perfectly.
