Beacon Pines

Beacon Pines is a little narrative with a non-linear story where you will have to go through different branches to reach the “happy ending”. It's an unpretentious game with a really simplistic gameplay, but which gives you a very pleasant time thanks to its atmosphere and its characters.

❤ A really charming artistic direction with very colorful decorations and characters drawn with a lot of expressiveness. ( ⬇ that reminds me of a fishbowl kinda xp)

❤ The mix between the naive and innocent side of the characters and the more creepy and anxious moments that works well and reminds me a lot of The Goonies. ❤ A quality sound design between the super cute Animal Crossing-style spoken dialogues, the excellent and very expressive narrator who involves us right away in the story, and the very good soundtrack that accompanies us throughout the game. ❤ A simple story that manages to deliver moments full of emotion and sweetness, with sometimes surprising twists. In addition, the characters are very endearing and we really want to guide them to the end of their quest.

+/- If the principle of "Charms" is rather nice with its branching system, the gameplay remains quite limited. I would have liked maybe more interactions with the scenery or more mini-games.

✖ The sound effects are very loud and you can't adjust the volume (while doable for music or the narrator's voice). ✖ This is the kind of game where I regret that it is so short because I would have liked to stay a little longer with the characters (5 hours on my side). ✖ The map is small and we quickly go around it; more exploration would have been welcome.

For the moment it’s only in english and I kinda hope for more translations in different languages so the game could be more accessible as it's worth having a look. I recommend it especially to the nostalgic for the adventure movies of our childhood~

might or might not go on a week long hiatus, so while i entertain myself with this dilemma, here’s a viktor fanart that i hope you guys would like ;)

i confess i’m not good with (realistic) shading and blending, that’s why i resort to minimal colours and shading or just plain line drawing. digital art is still very new to me, and half of the features baffles me, but here’s to a start: 2020 is the year of learning and personal growth. i don’t wish to be a pro so soon, but i want to be better in digital arts, and make colourful surrealist paintings maybe(?)

Hello ^^ it’s a personal tag of mine that means that the posts were in queue.

On tumblr you can either reblog directly a post or put it “in queue”, that means it’ll be posted automatically in the course of the day. You can even choose how many posts per day you want to publish. This way, my blog is always active even if I’m not on the website ^^ 

I usually personalize my queue tag with Xkit then. Usually I just try to make a stupid joke with a fandom x) But this time, it’s just a ref to my job xD I’m a teacher and my name is Lola, so if you see my posts are queued it means I may be not available because Lola sensei is on duty x)
