Submariner Summer Day1
Ok doing this thing! Kicking off #SubmarinerSummer read through with Tales to Astonish #70, Namor's return to solo protagonist status for the first time since the brief Marvel superhero resurgence a decade earlier Starting off strong with a really nice, dynamic title page!
See, this is a name:
Also, lol, Marvel hitting you with a continuity footnote *right* off the bat! That Daredevil issue is actually pretty good...
"THIS is the land I was born to rule" The...the land? I'm gonna chalk that up to a mistranslation of Atlantean or something. Someone gimme a No-Prize!
"Nothing that lives shall ever rob me of my birthright!" Tell that to Marvel writers for the next 60yrs...
Namor is in fact a jerk about his royalty. And it is *wild* how harsh Namor is to Dorma at this stage, considering how completely he'll fall for her once he gets a clue. He regrets this move, though, pretty much right away; Dorma set him up for an ambush
So first of all, they are NOT being subtle about the visual asian-coding here. Also, Krang's justification is a running theme carried over from the Golden Age stories that will keep recurring; Atlanteans think Namor is SOFT on the surface world
Pretty good burn by LadyDorma, but she's already regretting her move. Luckily, Namor has a plan to get Atlantis back, even though it turned against him for being soft on puny humans...
...the Quest for Neptune's Trident! Get the aqua-mcguffin and the crown is his by literal divine right, thanks to the decree of Neptune himself. Gotta be honest, I dig the classic fantasy hero turn of this story!
Namor convinces Dorma to let him attempt the quest, though she doesn't need much convincing. Not exactly Dorma's finest hour tbh but then again, she's a woman being written by Stan Lee here. 😬 Still, the art is classic and lovely, Gene Colan is killing it.
Quest Step 1: The Cave of Shadows, from which
*none have ever returned*
Apparently, they got eaten by a giant squid Again, the art is dynamic and moody for this undersea romp. Namor, of course, gets the clue to the next step of the quest, but Krang has found him out! Cliffhanger!
A fun little story that dives right in and moves quick, its interesting that it starts with the status quo turned around and changing instead of establishing itself first. Great Silver Age art, too; engaging read all around! Tomorrow: Tales to Astonish #71-Escape...To Nowhere!

Fifteen Letters
Summary: Mercury delivers letters, Hermes complains.
For @flashfictionfridayofficial's prompt of "Seal It Tight"! Still working on this WIP idea, still figuring out these characters. And I needed to repost this because I published it to the wrong blog.
-_-
Father had relaxed the rules about leaving Olympus until the threat was handled, just a bit. A few gods could leave to do their duties, including Mercury. However, he had announced that nobody was allowed to visit or help the questing group, unless of course someone ran into them.
Which left Mercury in a bit of a conundrum.
"Fifteen letters?" Hermes mused in the back of his mind. "R.K. usually doesn't get that many in one sitting. Not unless it's academy business."
"Don't sound so gleeful about it." Mercury huffed, flipping through the letters. Most were from Olympus. Five were from Poseidon's family, one was specifically from Headmaster Apollo, another one marked as being from the Ithaca family, and three were from... "The Underworld?" He shook it away to focus on the problem. "Father said none of us are allowed to visit the quest."
"Except he also said that we need to perform our duties." Hermes audibly had a smirk in his tone, one that made Mercury's stomach twist unpleasantly. That was the tone he usually had before he got into something. "I'll just be delivering mail to her, as part of my duties. I'm not breaking any rules-"
"No." Mercury set the bundle into his bag and stepped off the platform. "I'll be delivering the letters."
There was silence. For about five seconds.
"WHAT?!"
Mercury jolted, nearly losing the focus to keep flying. Once again, he had to bite back a mental scream at whatever force had shoved them together all those eons together. "She distracts you," he huffed instead. "Remember what happened when you delivered the moly to her?" His lips still tingled from the kiss given as R.K. had accepted Hermes' gift, two weeks after it had happened. Based on the new silence in the back of his mind, he did. "If I let you deliver, I don't think you'll leave her side."
"She's my girlfriend! The one I haven't seen in six months! Even greater than that, she's my favorite mortal!" Mercury rolled his eyes as Hermes raged. Honestly, he was more like a toddler than a god about this woman. "You try not seeing her for six months and not get distracted!"
"Well, I was perfectly put together when I met her." Mercury humphed. "You just need self-control."
Hermes continued yelling about the topic as Mercury began delivering the mail. Four letters, all from Jupiter, were delivered to the four winds. One letter was sent to Juno's private palace in Samos, where he was turned away from actually seeing the queen. Several letters, marked as being from Neptune, were delivered to several river nymphs. The mail in his bag trickled to nothing as Hermes gradually grew quieter, and Mercury tried to ignore the packet of fifteen letters, all sealed tight.
Was he stalling? Maybe. Just a little bit.
Finally, however, he couldn't.
The ship was eye-catching as it sailed up the West Coast, with blue sails marked with a trident visible even in the night's darkness. Mercury could see about three people on the deck, two yawning. He slipped past them and entered the lower deck. It was easy to figure out where the crew's rooms were, as the doors were marked with names.
His plan was to just knock and leave the letters at her door.
Instead of fifteen letters, however, he pulled out sixteen.
"Oh, you idiot," Mercury said, glaring at the small envelope marked as For R.K. with swooping letters. He knew the silence had meant nothing good for his health.
"Just because you won't let me talk to her, doesn't mean I can't communicate."
"This is exactly what Father forbid!"
"No, I'm not visiting. I'm writing her."
"Why you-"
The door opened before Mercury could finish the threat.
"Herm-" R.K. came to a stop, blinking those soft blue eyes. Her wide grin faded, replaced by a small but polite smile. "Oh. Lord Mercury." His irritation faded, replaced by a spark of delight. She recognized him!
"Oh, you-"
"What brings you here?"
"Mail, for you, Miss Calimeris." Mercury held out the packet of letters, trying to ignore the fact that there was one more than what he started with. Despite his words, he felt himself linger, watching as she flipped through the letters. "You have many people eager to get back in touch now that you've been found."
"Mr. Calimeris is my dad. I'm only twenty-five, I am not ready to feel that old yet." R.K. started by pulling out Apollo's letter first, flashing him a warmer smile that made heat rise up in his face. "Please, call me R.K." Mercury felt his eye twitch, a motion that was not his, as she ripped open the envelope and scanned the letter. "And Apollo knows I don't handle the taxes of the academy, that's all him... Mind sticking around so I can send a letter back?"
"No-"
"I have the time."

hello :) i have very recently gotten into namor comics and i wanted to know, what are your favorite arcs/solos hes had? i hope its not too much of a bother. thank you and i hope youre doing well. ^_^
Hello and welcome. It's always a pleasure to speak with Namor fans ❤️ Thanks for asking, I'm well and I hope you are too.
Series:
King in Black: Namor - It's wonderfully written and gives us great lore and character moments. It's written by Kurt Busiek who really knows the character. The artwork is amazing, drawn by two different artists but I have to point out how much I really enjoy the colorists' work. The way they chose to make present day Namor scenes all muted colors, like the ocean is sick and dying, meanwhile his past scenes has such vibrant color.
Sub-Mariner: The Depths - I'm a big horror fan so this was a perfect combination of horror and Namor. I wish this would someday be adapted into a short animation or live action film. Ribic's art carries the whole comic, you could understand it just by the art alone, tho the writing is great too.
Sub-Mariner (2007) - Honesty I feel this series is criminally under rated, it's one of my favorite modern takes on Namor. I do have a couple of criticisms of the plot/ending but overall this series is favorite, love the artwork, love the premise and Namor's characterization.
The Sub-Mariner (1968) - I'm a big fan of Silver Age Namor and this series has lots of great comics but some do drag on at point. Personal favorites, Namor vs The Thing and Namor meeting Betty again in #8, Dorma being possessed by the Serpent Crown in #9. Gonna stop there before I go digging to find every issue I loved, bc there's just a lot there, like I love Tigershark's introduction/stories and Namor and Diane's friendship, and the quest for Namor's father etc.
Arc's:
Tales to Astonish: The Quest for Neptune's Trident #70-76. (To be fair I do love a lot Tales to Astonish but I'm just trying to pick out arcs that I reread alot.)
Namor goes insane in space: Uncanny X-Men (1963) Annual 3 (2001), Steve Rogers: Super Soldier Annual 1, Namor: The First Mutant Annual 1
Suma-Ket & Artys-Gran Arc - Namor, the Sub-Mariner (1990) #30-40. Dark Undersea High Fantasy arc, love it.
Solo Comics:
Marvel Fanfare (1982) #16 & 43, both these are solo adventures
Marvel Snapshot: Sub-Mariner (2020) - I can never get enough of this comic, told from Betty's pov, its wonderful.
Avengers: Emperor Doom - I love every time Namor and Doom team up or interact but if I had to pick one time it's this.
What if? Sub-Mariner (2011) - Love love this story by Greg Pak of Namor growing up on land.
The Judgement of Namor - Dark Reign: The Cabal - Namor takes court and deals with his subjects. An excellent look into Namor's role as the monarch of Atlantis.
Marvel (2020) #3 - I loved the sketch arts of the comic that was unfinished, it had been around for decades but when Marvel finally printed it in full I was so happy. I still prefer the sketchy art but I thought this was a fun adventure and Namor is in a suit, lol.
Marvel Comics Presents: (1988) #33 - All time favorite Namor comic, #1 spot in my heart. (2007) #7 - Namor mourns Nita's death (2019) #1 - A heavy story by Greg Pak about WWll
Tales of the Marvels: Inner Demons - a look at Namor while he was an amnesiac
I haven't even started on character team up comics or team books and if I start on those I won't stop. lol. I'll put a link here to my 2019 comic reading guide that can help you find most major arcs. I hope you enjoy reading!

King’s Quest II: Romancing the Throne | Part 2
The Adventurer’s Log
King’s Quest II: Romancing the Throne Part 2
I wasn't intending to play the whole thing in one day or I could have lumped all this into one post. But I did, and here we are. On the other hand it's probably better to have a split to avoid a total monster post anyway.
Continuing on, my next goal was to find the key to unlock the first of the three doors.
My first goal though was to find Little Red Riding Hood which took some doing. Ugh random encounters. After wandering and exploring some more--I found more jewellery--and more bouncing between screens I knew she'd shown up in before I finally found her and gave her back her basket of goodies.
Grandma had the basket in her mailbox! Why! Now it's going straight back to her!
The important part here though, was getting a bouquet of flowers from Little Red. To avoid losing a bunch of points we need that for our next step.
That next step was finding a mermaid along the coast. You can gift her any of the jewellery and that will let you progress, however you lose a bunch of points. In fact the only point of the jewellery seems to be giving it to people or trading it, but that's never the optimal solution. There doesn't seem to be any optimal use for it though. I suppose maybe they're ultimately meant to be gifts for Valanice or something.
Anyway, instead gift the mermaid the bouquet of flowers and she calls up a seahorse to give you a ride into the ocean. Ever the trusting sort we take that ride and are taken down into King Neptune's kingdom. Give him the trident and he gives you the key to the first door in return, and so the first clue was solved. A splash was made.
Apparently my next puzzle was simply unlocking the dang door as I over-complicated my commands. Use key with door? Nope. Open door? Nope. Open door with key? Nope. Etc. All you need is "Unlock door". So I got my first door opened and my second clue for the second door:
"Whosoever chooses to seek the key for this door should set their sights high."
As this has caused things to once more change I was able to finally go to the antique shop. The old lady running it had a lamp for sale but wanted two treasures (the jewellery) in return or to retrieve her beloved nightingale back from Hagatha.
I was able to retrieve the nightingale without issue with a cloth I'd found in a bottle to cover its cage so it wouldn't sing and potentially alert Hagatha. There is a bit of an annoying thing in that only the cloth works and not the cloak which doesn't make a lot of sense. Regardless, the lady was delighted to get her bird back.
I got the lamp!
What might it do?
It's a magic lamp of course. Rub it and out pops a genie.
Thanks for the magic carpet, sir. Of course a genie grants three wishes, so if you rub it two more times you also get a sword and a leather bridle.
Setting those sights high it was time to ride the carpet.
A whole new world...
The carpet took me to a mountain top! And I didn't even fall off.
Ignore the big increase in points. I took this after finishing off in this area.
Setting off to explore, I quickly found a big ol' snake.
Take snake!
The game was not impressed.
Now this is something I absolutely would not have gotten without having watched this game. You can kill it with the sword, however there's a better way. A much better way given what happens... Instead throw the leather bridle on it and it turns out it was pegasus that had been enchanted into a snake all along. I'm sure this stems from a story I'm not aware of. The pegasus gives you a sugar cube that will protect you from poison brambles and flies off.
Moving on there's a rock with a hole and a cave. You can look in the hole but you'll face dire, dire consequences...
Space Quest time! Maybe I ought to play one of these at some point too... After several scenes from the game we're released from blatant advertising that ain't got nothin' on Loom Guy and it's back to our own quest.
In the cave is a rock with a key. Fetch key and we're all done here.
Back to unlock the second door and see the final door's inscription.
"Whosoever chooses to seek the last key must have a stout heart."
Well, there's still one area we haven't dealt with yet and that's all that poison water. Across the poison lake there's a castle. Now that the third door has been activated there's a ghoulish boatman with a boat waiting there.
This is another case where you can use treasures, orrr, it's time to don the cloak and ring.
He thinks we're someone else and freely gives us a ride.
Many poison brambles all along the path. Good thing we have that sugar cube. Good thing I forgot to eat it, stepped out of the boat and immediately ran into a bramble and died.
One restore later I crossed the river again, remembered to eat the cube and carried on my merry way. It is possible to go without the cube but it looks like it'd be utter hell to do.
At the castle gate there were ghosts! While a midi version of Thriller played! The ghosts were scared off by my cloak and ring, but if you're just wearing the cross that will work too.
Inside the castle I was treated to Toccata and Fugue because of course. Time to explore.
Wall meat! Er, table meat. Scoop that ham up.
Scary stairs that weren't actually very scary and caused me no trouble. They led to a bedroom where I found a candle.
Actually scary stairs. I couldn't even do anything the first time I got up there either. On my second trip once I had the key for that chest I died several times trying to get down.
But before that I went downstairs...
Where I found an empty coffin. Under its pillow was a gold key for our third door! Now I could have just left, but I knew that wasn't all. Re-entering the room a few times eventually got me a closed coffin and inside was none other than...
Dracula himself of course! With the mallet and stake you can kill him, but it took me a few tries because I once again over-complicated the commands trying to do things like 'use stake' when all you do is 'kill dracula'. If you're wearing the cross he'll turn into a bat and run away but you get fewer points. Getting rid of him causes him to leave behind a silver key.
Now, this whole scenario begs a very important question. The cloak and ring are obviously Dracula's. Why did Grandma have them? Just what is going on there? This lady has been busy one way or another. And that's not even getting back into the whole wolf situation.
With silver key in hand I braved the stairs and got a diamond and sapphire tiara then died a few times getting back down.
Back to the third door and opening that up took me to another world...
Obligatory waterfall and wacky colours.
I found a fish net and used it. Turned out I got lucky and caught the needed fish immediately. I'd reloaded to try something and it took several tries to get the fish. I could do without the randomness in this game especially when you are doing the right thing.
Anyway, catching the fish causes it to flop around painfully gasping for air, so you can throw it back in the water and it thanks you for saving it.
I'm sorry, we're the ones who put your life in danger and you're thanking us for saving it? Okay then... Graham being a real jerk here.
This just looked goofy.
I explored around and found an amulet with the word HOME on it. And then I found the quartz tower! And Valanice! Of course I had to get in and up there.
Gosh. More spiralling stairs.
Gosh, falling off the stairs. Didn't see that coming.
Just a few falls...
I got chomped by a lion. Imagine being Valanice and seeing Graham out the window and then shortly later hearing the crunching... Or the scream of him falling off the damn stairs.
Anyway, two options here. Feed the lion the meat from Dracula's castle for more points, or slay the lion with your sword for fewer points. I of course fed the lion and it fell asleep after a good meal of ham.
And here we are at last with Valanice. She'll follow us anywhere except down those stairs, and I don't blame her. That leaves no choice but to trust in the amulet, say 'home' and get teleported back.
Side note: you can use the amulet even before finding Valanice. You'll get sent home, Graham will enter the castle and you'll get a message along the lines of it being too bad he couldn't bring home a queen and the game ends.
We came home to a wedding! Everyone's invited!
Dragon and giant from the first game... Grandma just hanging out with the wolf now... Grandma, just what is your story, ma'am? Where's King's Quest: Grandma's Quest?
And together they enter the castle and happily ever after except for the future games. In fact this game ended with immediately advertising for King's Quest III.
And look at those max points!
Final Points: 185/185
Deaths: 17 (7 to stairs. It felt like more)
Time: 2:24
Final Thoughts:
I enjoyed playing it, clearly, as I got sucked back into a second session to finish it the same day I started. That said the plot is thin: rescue girl to get married. You don't really get much off Hagatha. She imprisons Valanice. She steals the antique shop owner's bird for some reason. And she can randomly show up and kill you. Why the bird, we do not know. Evil.
It also felt like a lot of random ideas jammed together. Here's Grandma's cottage in the middle of nowhere. Here's Little Red Riding Hood. Here's the wolf that you can't actually do anything about. Here's an antique shop in the middle of nowhere that happens to have a magic lamp. How about a monastery? How about Dracula's castle?
A lot of screens feel like they're there solely to increase map size. You don't find anything and they're not even interesting to look at. Some water and trees. More water and trees. Throw in some rocks.
I don't know. Like I said, I enjoyed the act of playing it, but it's really not the most cohesive of things. It's also the true start to Sierra stairs... Hmph.
I am enjoying the text parser even though it can be irritating when you say something and it doesn't work and you say something else that means the same and it does.
I'm enjoying mapping things out too. It's something I've only done rarely. The combination of mapping and writing in actions adds some extra layer that's fun and immersive.
This entry is just... awkwardly enjoyable. I'll leave it that.

Thanks for the tag!
Sorry @marvisions got lost in my notes!
My personal recommendations
1.) Trident Quest - Tales to Astonish #70-75 - Namor quests for Neptune's Trident
2.) King in Black: Namor (2020) - Attuma's backstory and Namor and Dorma story arc
3.) Suma-Ket & Artys-Gran - Namor, the Sub-Mariner (1990) 29-40 - the art is not the best here since it was Jae Lee's first start in comics but this arc is an epic dark fantasy and one of my favorites.
4.) Sub-Mariner (2007) and Namor: The First Mutant (2010) are also my faves
5.) Anything with the Defenders, the team dynamic is great fun
If you need anything more specific then let me know, idk what flavor of story your friend prefers but Namor has a range of fun adventure to high stakes fantasy to read.
my friend just watched wakanda forever and LOVED namor so much he asked me for reccomendations on the best namor comics and the essentials to get into the character. He isn’t into comics that much, so I’m here to ask Namor stans which ones do you think are the essentials and the best gateway comics to get into the character?

So is there a more effective way of grinding EMP than just killing slimes? I haven't set out to focus on it yet but it feels like raising EMP level takes forever
arf, unfortunately there's only just, massive grindings. EMP is especially a reward from grinding hard everywhere else than something i've seen people grind for - but yeah if you want to maximize your EMP it's with slime blasting
though, when you kill slimes there's just a few tips that can help
1) Activate the Boost to EXP Earned in the Journey Drop's shop
2) put this weapon from Rise of the Beasts in your grid (better if uncapped but even one copy gives you a boost)
Also if you want to double your efficiency while doing so grab also those weapon in RotB:
Especially Neptune's Trident, since Septian Burner is more recommanded for like, Angel Halo or other similar quests to look for mats (like the various trials) - basically when you know your grid won't take a power hit from it
NOTE that all of those weapons are available from getting them from the badges, so you don't have to spend pendant in the shop for them unless you are in dire need to.
Similarly, not for EMP but still in optimizing, use this weapon in your slime blasting grid:
you should have got it from doing the Halloween Quests. The "Chance to get candy" are basically EXP boosts that can be used to level up a character who hasn't been maxed yet
3) if your grid can allow it/if you have good summons to carry you and everything, don't hesitate to take the summons with EXP drop+ in the "Other" tab like Nobiyo or the Black/White Rabbit (Nobiyois an event summon, the Rabbits are both available to get in the Arcarum's shop, if you want to optimize yourself with them)
EMP raising IS meant to take forever and you'll only really get more by just keep blasting and usually it's better to not focus on it much. For the levels they're shared between various units so if you have multiple version of one character the level will go up faster, but for the points, it's per unit and it's just, using it a lot.
Personally for instance i have a very specific Slime Blasting team that takes into account all i said (though i use Bahamut rather than a EXP+ Summon bc i prefer to do quick multiple times than long for a little bit more rewards), and i keep underleveled characters in my team EXCEPT for Percival that never leaves my team. So when i blast slimes to level up the others chara Percival always get EMPs.
that's all i can really say ^^"
good luck with your EMP grinding!!

558-560: "The Noah Closing in! The Fish-Man Island Facing Destruction!", "Hurry up, Luffy! Shirahoshi's Life in Jeopardy!" and "The Fierce Fight Begins! Luffy vs. Hordy!"
This is like watching Hitler stab Elliot Roger. Can you even cheer for this?
I can’t because let’s just say I’m not the biggest fan of either of them. The most I could muster was a grim nod. “Yes, that’s brilliant. Now the other one needs to go.”
Luffy should step up in the next couple of episodes, so I’m looking forward to watching Hordy Jones chow down on a generous slice of Karma pie. It’ll be old and moldy too because Hordy’s comeuppance is long overdue.
I get the feeling that the (literally) biggest problem facing the Strawhats right now, though, is neither Decken nor Hordy. It’s Noah: the massive ship that is currently floating just above Fishman Island.
How big is this ship?
I’ll let Franky sum it up.
Noah: The Ship of Promise
The shots of Noah drifting straight for Fishman Island were weirdly beautiful. I mean, I know this thing was close to killing an entire nation full of people plus the Strawhats, but the art was so good. Dat perspective. Dat chiaroscuro. Dat cool shot of the surface tension stretching the bubble. The seaweed strung chains alone were so huge they demolished buildings and minor geological features with ease. Toei did a good job escalating the sense of threat here.
Another interesting thing is that, for the first time, Neptune has really freaked out with fear. But not for himself. It’s for Noah. Apparently, the ship has a nickname: the ship of promise. Neptune was worried because that ship was Not To Be Used before the appointed time. He even freaked out about the possibility of it being damaged.
Hmmm... Intriguing. I guess this means Noah is culturally significant to Fishman Island (or at least to the Royal Family/Neptune who is the only one who clearly understands its significance, as the princes called it “a relic from the past”). What did he mean by “the appointed time?” Why was it built in the first place? Starting to think it’s not an ancient weapon. Maybe it was built to transport Fishmen to a better place? It has loads of windows. I guess I’ll find out soon. :)
But first, there is a villain to be dealt with!
Long-Distance Roasting
Luffy scrapping with Hordy in 558 was glorious. I’m enjoying watching the new tricks he’s learned over his two year stint with Rayleigh. I love how surprised Luffy was that Hordy staggered upright after being punched through a wall.
He used hardening haki to obliterate iron shields, landed a blistering hardened kick and smacked Hordy with a hardened fist. Faced with an opponent who was levels above him, Hordy panicked and fired off water arrows indiscriminately. Luffy’s observation haki pretty much ruined that half-baked plan. It was hilarious watching Hordy get his ass handed to him. It must have really ground Hordy’s gears hearing the islanders praising the strength of the world-renowned Strawhat pirate captain.
Unfortunately, Luffy couldn’t finish the job because it was about that time the Noah Eclipse moved across the island. At that point, even the Strawhats were thinking, “Shiiiiiiiiit.....”
One of the smaller shadows belonged to the Sea Bonze dude that worked for Decken. It grew rapidly as he plummeted to earth. When he shook himself off, he looked up and freaked out because the ship was sailing without him.
“Stop the ship!” he yelled. “I slipped and fell off. I don’t wanna die!”
You know, I thought for one moment that Decken’s one saving grace was that he at least cared about his crew.
Turns out he doesn’t even have that. He said straight up to his Sea Bonze buddy: “Yeah, I’m gonna need you to become a sacrifice along with the rest of Fishman Island.” What a guy.
I mean, you’ve got to be a proper piece of crap when Hordy Jones, of all people, is pissed off with the psychotic shit you keep pulling.
Like Mother, Like Daughter
But Decken’s deeply creepy breakdown spurred one of my favourite moments of the arc.
When Decken made his appearance, he, of course, took the opportunity to harass Shirahoshi one last time. “SHIRAHOSHI, NO ONE CAN LOVE YOU LIKE ME! SO DROP DEAD ALONG WITH THE REST OF FISHMAN ISLAND.”
Logic? Nah. It’s in very short supply with this guy. Must have departed long ago with the last crumb of sanity.
When it became obvious that Decken was about to involve the entire island in his mad quest to “prove his love”, Shirahoshi did something very brave. Decken had thrown Noah towards his marked target, just like all the knives and axes before. Knowing this, Shirahoshi he put her life on the line and swam right up to the ship, stopping it from crashing into the island where she stood.
“If I am the only one who you want to kill, please do not harm the other people of Ryugu Kingdom.”
She was willing to endanger herself in order to protect her people. Shirahoshi is most definitely no coward. In fact, she’s as brave as Otohime, who threw herself in front of a bullet to stop a revenge killing.
Despite Decken upping the creep factor, “How beautiful you are, even your mind! You’re taking the matter into your own hands to save the country, aren’t you? You’re definitely eligible to become Vander Decken IX’s wife after all. You’d better die while you’re still beautiful and live in my heart forever.”
I have no words. Unfortunately, I know this is not unrealistic.
Decken hurled a dagger at Shirahoshi. But despite being injured, she still swam off and lured Decken - and most importantly, Noah - away from the island. She swam all the way to the open sea.
As far as I’m concerned, Shirahoshi deserves major props for quick thinking and saving everyone from being, as Robin said, smashed all at once. (lol)
Hordy Has a Little Moment
While this was going down, Hordy hauled himself upright and stood there like a lost lemon, grinding his teeth and raging at Decken’s “betrayal.” Hordy, the guy has several screws loose. If he is distracted by Shirahoshi in any way, he will drop whatever dumb scheme he’s involved in to pursue his main interest.
He watched Luffy be lauched after Noah by Sanji (that was cool, by the way. Sanji was about to join him, but Luffy pulled him back and said he had to take care of the plaza. Instead of insisting on running after the mermaid princess, Sanji agreed. Obviously the order from his captain, who he also respects as a friend, takes precedence. That’s much better, Sanji! :D)
Only then did his rage move him to action. He decided to hijack Decken’s plan. He leapt onto the hanging chains, even shooting at the islanders (who tried to slow Noah’s progress because they were so worried for Shirahoshi). I kept thinking, Luffy, now is the time to knock that dumbass off the chain.
But he didn’t. Shirahoshi broke through the bubble and Luffy emerged into open water. He had to use the Bubbly Coral Jimbei handed him. But he couldn’t use the full stretch and strength of his power confined in the small bubble.
Then Hordy swam up behind him and had a little moment when the tables turned. “How inconvenient it must be to be a human!” he gloated, using all his old favourite slurs. “You act so tough on the ground but you couldn’t even win a fight with a Fishman child in the sea!”
Of course, he forgot Zoro beat him in the water before he snacked on a fistful of Roids, but such thoughts are inconvenient. Luffy couldn’t replicate the feat because, as a DF user, he was at a major disadvantage and was forced to fight in the bubble. Hordy was straight up too fast and the water arrows pierced the bubble.
If it wasn’t for Fukaboshi, Luffy would have been screwed. I actually cheered when he showed up. xD It was also nice when Luffy asked how he was. “Thanks for rescuing me. You got hurt earlier. You okay?” (and it was funny when Fukaboshi told him off for being impressed at how Hordy was “almost like Zoro in the water”.) At least they have come to an understanding now. Fukaboshi apologised for suspecting the Strawhats, and Luffy, in his usual way, said, “Don’t mention it.”
They didn’t have time for a drawn out apology-fest, anyway, because Luffy had a plan and he was in a hurry.
Bye, Bye, Decken?
Now, I’m not sure if Ryuboshi and Mamboshi (is that how you spell his name?) gave Shirahoshi the best advice. She was swimming out into open sea away from the island. Instead, they advised her to swim upwards. I guess they couldn’t have predicted Hordy would spear Decken and, once the Mark Mark power wore off, the ship would come crashing down on top of Fishman Island, but still.
The betrayal scene was cool. Decken is obviously so detached from reality he had no idea Hordy was seething with rage when he hopped on deck.
“O hai, pal!” he laughed. “What happened to Neptune? Did you kill him? I’ve been tormenting Shirahoshi with the Noah. What do you think? Good idea, right?”
“Oh, I have an idea,” the shadowy figure of Hordy leered. “If you die now... what’ll happen to this ship?”
Then he stabbed Decken through the chest with his trident. That wasn’t the end of it. Decken hauled himself off it, blood dripping, then accidentally touched Hordy in the process, leaving a mark on him.
“I panicked a bit when Noah sailed over,” Hordy admitted. “But I can’t kill you yet. Then the Mark Mark power will be ineffective and the ship will fall onto Fishman Island and destroy everything. More than anything, I want the Strawhats gone. Thousands of my men will die too, but I can get as many human slaves as I want later.” Nice, Hordy. Thousands of your men will die, but it’s okay, they can be replaced with human slaves. What happened to Fishman supremacy, eh?
Decken told him to drop dead and threw a blade. I’m not quite sure what happened here, but Hordy either ducked or moved behind Decken and the blade sliced into Decken. Ohhhhhhh, the shot of that sweet, sweet long distance body fall. Decken landed right next to his rose axe (which is a bit suspicious, to be honest. As I have not yet seen a body, I bet he’ll use the axe to take revenge against Hordy. The mark has not yet been removed, so...)
Of course, counter betrayal accomplished, Hordy pressed on with his plan to hijack Decken’s psycho scheme. He caught up with Shirahoshi and grabbed her by the hair. Luckily, Luffy and Fukaboshi arrived fresh from a strategy talk. I have no idea what move it was Luffy pulled on Hordy, the snake shot one, but it looked like his hands were on fire? At any rate, Luffy said it didn’t work properly because he needed a bigger bubble, but it definitely hit Hordy hard. Looking forward to seeing it on a proper, ass-kicking scale! :D
“A fool like you can’t protect anything!” Hordy jeered.
“No,” Luffy said, absolutely dead pan. “I will protect them all. That’s what I’ve worked for over the past two years.”
For all Luffy adopts a happy-go-lucky attitude, I’ll never forget how low he was post-Marineford. It’s obviously affected him and this is one of the times he lets it show. He will never let something like that happen ever again. If anything threatens his crew, his friends or anyone he loves, they will regret it.
And speaking of...
Meanwhile... Back in the Plaza
Zoro and Sanji are having a great time!
I can’t wait to see Zoro kick that drunken Fishman swordsman’s ass. That guy is such a liability. Imagine killing all your allies just because you love cutting people. Great hire there, Hordy.
Classic Robin. xD

Marvel’s Atlantis
This post is a collection of information about Marvel Comic’s Atlantis. (Warning: long post ahead. I have not read every comic pertaining to Atlantis yet and as such I’m only gathering things I know.)
The Gods, Goddesses, Creatures, and Relics:
Neptune: The Holy Father. Atlantean Deity, an Olympian who has the power over the all the seas and its creatures. He is father to the Atlantean race (Homo Mermanus). He is also called Poseidon. Typically depicted as an old man with a beard and blue skin like the other Atlanteans. He wields his trident which has unimaginable magic power. The Atlanteans still revere and pray to him. Favors Namor and has on occasion protected and brought him back to life as well as sends him on quests. Has once said that Namor is his favorite son and always has his blessing.
Cleito: The Holy Mother. Atlantean Deity, Mother of all things. Wife of Neptune. The pure essence of femaleness. Embodiment of Illusion, Ruler of the City of the Golden Gate (Pre-Cataclysm). Atlanteans pray to and revere her and she is said to be in all places all at once and knows what lies in the hearts of men. Has said that Namor is a child born of land and sea, that only he holds the power to accept the power of the Nexus Fragment. Has once said that Namor is her favorite son and that her blessing is always upon him.
Cleito and Poseidon had five sets of twins who became the Ten Kings of Atlantis
Evenor: Father of Cleito, Guardian of the City of the Golden Gate, Guardian of the temple of Cleito. Guardian of the Shroud of Cleito. Adviser to pilgrims who make the journey to the Lost Temple. Is depicted as a large terrifying sea creature whose head resembles that of a seahorse and has long clawed hands and glowing eyes.
Set: The Demonic Serpent God, an Elder God and creator of the race of serpent men. Worshiped by Naga a leader of Lemeriuans who broke away from the main Lemurains. Is evil and wishes to control/rule the world in his image.
The Scared Trident of Neptune: A magical Trident that grants the bearer the power over the seas. Is extremely powerful and contains great magic.
The Shroud of Cleito: The Shroud contains Gems that are interwoven into the cloth. The destiny’s of all creatures are held in the gems and the woven into the fabric of the Shroud are the souls of all past and future King’s of Atlantis.
The Amulet of Kings: A magical amulet that holds the souls of the past kings of Atlantis. It was used to transport Namor to Hell.
Crown of Empire: The royal crown of the ruler of Atlantis.
The Coral Throne: The royal throne of Atlantis.
The Serpent Crown: Created by the Serpent men as a magical tool that would allow Set to be able to enter their world. Influences the wearer to the control of Set. Found by Naga and his followers.
The Great Cataclysm: The Fall of Atlantis.
After the Great Cataclysm:
The Atlanteans: City dwellers who live in the various underwater cities in the oceans. Are often seen as the civilized ones compared to their more barbaric cousins who are more of a nomadic tribe usually lead by Attuma. There are varying stories as to how the Atlanteans came to be, some say they were always there a race of water breathers, some say that the wizards of Atlantis saw their continent sinking and used the last of their power to change their surviving people into water breathers. Atlanteans have blue skin, pointed ears, and gills on their necks. They come in varying shades of blue and some have more fish like features than others. Atlanteans also have mutants. They are a very proud race who respect the oceans, earth and all the creatures. They are susceptible to things that damage the environment, like pollution. They cannot survive out of water without a device to aid them. Devices such as water scarves, water tanks, magical pills/potions that will allow them to be able to breath air, etc. They are ruled by Namor the First.
The Lemurians: A splinter group of Atlanteans who live in the pacific/Enemy of Atlanteans/they had their own land before it also sunk below the waves.
Faceless Ones: Ancient tribe of subterranean underwater creatures. Often attacking Atlanteans.
Aqueos: Underwater Vampires. Thought to be myth.
Sirens: Atlanteans with the power to enchant their intended targets with song.
The Logomancer: Atlantean with the power to guide the magic of Atlantis/the oceans through the King to aid Atlantis. Atlantis has scientist and magicians who use technology and magic together in harmony but only the Logomancer can use it on a large scale level and has the power to let the magic flow through the King.
Trident Station: A building that is in the middle of the ocean where land dwellers can come to learn about and explore the history of Atlantis. It is meant to be a neutral meeting place for Atlanteans and Humans to work together in peace.
(Marvel Adventures Fantastic Four #24)
The History:
Before the Fall
Atlantis was not one kingdom but ten. The ten kingdoms were ruled by ten kings. Atlantis was merely the capital kingdom. Within Atlantis there was a city called the Golden Gate. It was the apex of all the wonder and beauty. Before Atlantis sunk below the waves, the event was thereafter known as the Cataclysm, it was a wonder land filled with machines and technology far beyond any civilization of the time. It was a place where miracles were common place and where Magic and Technology were used together in perfect unison. Atlantis stood at the beginning of time and no place yet has ever come close to reaching the utopia and beauty of Atlantis.
Not much is known of the Golden Age of Atlantis before the Cataclysm when it’s history was lost to time and the waves.
(Man-Thing #7-8 1997)
The Fall
Different accounts of how Atlantis fell into the sea and the City of Atlantis rose:
- There was a war between the Lemurians and the Atlanteans involving the Deviants and the Celestials. Shockwaves from a nuclear cataclysm caused Lemuria to sink into the sea along with Atlantis.
- Poseidon reveals that the reason Atlantis fell was due to its own hubris. That the rulers of the past began to grow lazy and neglectful of the city and its people. Unwilling to even fight since they believed fighting was beneath them they hired the Amazons to fight for them. Rather than pay the Amazons their fee teh council of wizards chose to kill them all. This was an Atlantis that was far from the one that stood at the beginning of time, where people were happy and lived in peace, it is unknown how many centuries passed from the Golden Age of Atlantis to the pre-cataclysm but the nation suffered as it grew corrupt from the greed of the rulers. The wizards sought more power and attempted to remake the world in their image. The magic they unleashed was far too powerful for even them to control and it ripped the continent apart and The Empire of Atlantis fell into the sea. (The Incredible Hercules #123)
What few wizards were left used their remaining magic to save the last of their race by turning them into water breathers. Over the centuries the lost and scattered people of the ocean came together to reform their nation this time in the south ocean near the south pole and the continent that is now called Antarctica. The City of Atlantis rose once more. Now ruled by a single Emperor or Empress. A descendant of Neptune’s royal blood.
- Final account is that Homo Mermanus just appeared out of nowhere in the oceans/have always been in the oceans and merely settled from a nomadic lifestyle in the ruins of Atlantis and thus became the Atlanteans.
Noteable Past/Current Royalty of Atlantis:
- The Ten Lost Kings/Queens (No one knows if the five sets of twins were all males, females, or half of each. Only that they were born of Cleito and Posiden and ruled the Ten Kingdoms of Atlantis in the golden age.)
- King Kamuu and Queen Zartra, The last rulers of Atlantis before the Cataclysm
- Empress Ritha, the only female Empress of Atlantis after it fell into the sea.
- Emperor Thakorr, Father of Fen, Grandfather of Namor, Tyrant King of Atlantis.
- Princess Fen, Daughter of Thakorr, Mother of Namor, Goddess of the Seals.
- King Namor the First, Fen-Son, The Avenging Son, The Sub-Mariner, Lord of the Seven Seas and Emperor of the Deep.
After Thakorr’s death it was said the only true King of Atlantis was the Sea-God Neptune and the current holder of the throne of Atlantis was his vessel on earth thus Namor went by the title of Prince out of respect to Lord Neptune since he is very close to his Atlantean faith.
- Princess Namora, Aquaria Nautica Neptuna, the sea beauty, the sea goddess, cousin of Namor and granddaughter of Thakorr
- Princess Namorita, Daughter of Namora, Great Granddaughter of Thakorr
Phrases commonly used by Atlanteans:
Imperius Rex!: A war cry typically uttered before battle. Mainly used by Namor.
People who live on the Surface (typically used as an insult): Lung men/people, air-breathers, surfacers, surface people, air suckers, pink skins.
Minnows: Small Atlantean children (generally babies)
Curse words/exclamations of surprise: By Neptune’s: beard, trident, etc. By the swriling saragossa, By the seven secret seas. etc.
Other Things:
Neptune Net: A large net that is pushed by dozens of Atlanteans to capture great amounts of fish.
Market: Atlanteans are seen to barter their goods and services, they have no use or need of land money. However Namor knows locations of many sunken ships and vessels that contain jewels and treasures from the past. Atlantis it is a hunter/gatherer/fishing/farming community with bartering instead of monetary exchange. There seems to be no sign of poverty or homelessness, the king takes care of his people and ensures that they need for nothing.
School: The Royal Atlantean Academy teaches the students about everything from magic to science to the history of Atlantis and more.
Police Force: The Atlantean Guards are the main police force, city guards and palace guards. Head of Security is usually Andromeda.
Tridents/Trident Team: A specialized team of warriors.

True to his seafaring roots, Aquaman has wielded various tridents throughout his long history, from the classic Trident of Neptune, which was forged by the Cyclops out of adamantine and Neptune's own essence, to the Trident of Poseidon, “a talisman of the sea god's favor,” according to the DC Comics Encyclopedia.
Namor was given a copy the Trident by Neptune after completing a series of quest to prove his worthiness for the Throne of Atlantis. Namor's original copy was broken by Jacqueline Trufaut using the copy she found in the ruins of Pontus. Namor used the trident to inflict a deadly blow to Suma-Ket.

Submariner Summer 7
OK all, time for part 7 of the #SubmarinerSummer read through: Tales to Astonish #76, Uneasy Hangs The Head..! This cover is, frankly iconic. They even used it as the cover for the first Epic Collection. BTW, what do you all think of him in a cape?
Meanwhile on the title page, Namor stands boldly over a desperate Krang. It does not go well for Krang.
Krang having been dealt with, Namor turns his attention to Dorma, who still needs to be healed by the revitalizer before she dies. Vashti aids him as Namor monologues his way through the moment of truth
Dorma lives! Now the quest is truly ended! Now the prize is truly won!
With the trials all ended, its time to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Coronation time! And I have to say, a crown looks good on Lady Dorma
Namor sits the throne, crowned, holding Neptune's trident, with a royal red cape. Gotta be honest, never loved this Atlantean crown, but feel free to tell me if you disagree. Namor calls Dorma to his side, but not just her. Good ol' Vashti gets his due as well!
Then we see Krang in his cell, unrepentant and still plotting, even as Namor banishes him from Atlantis.
This pretty much wraps up the Quest for Neptune's Trident.
Of course, there is no happily ever after, for Namor or Atlantis, and the very next day (! geez, couldn't even give them a weekend??) catastrophe strikes. But not just any catastrophe...as usual, the surfacers are causing destruction to the environment and Namor must deal with it
This issue is essentially a quick wrap-up and epilogue, then tees up the next story arc, so its a bit neither here nor there. But its always fun seeing our heroes get their rewards, and we're left with something of a cliffhanger again as we wonder what waits on the surface.
So, next up on Submariner Summer, its Tales to Astonish #77: To Walk Amongst MEN!

Nereids – Greek Sea Nymphs
In Greek mythology, the Nereids were sea nymphs, or water spirits. There were several different deities associated with water such as Oceanus and Poseidon who were two of the most important gods. The Nereids however, were at a much lower level of importance. They were equivalent to other sea deities like the Naiads, the Potamoi and the Oceanids.
Who were the Nereids?
According to ancient sources, there were about 6000 Oceanids and Potamoi in total, but only about 50 Nereids. They were all the daughters of Nereus, the ancient sea god, and Doris, one of the Oceanids. The Nereids were beautiful young goddesses who were commonly seen playing around among the Meditaerranean waves or lying in the sun on the rocky outcrops.
The Nereids were said to have been benevolent figures, known for helping lost sailors and fishermen. To thank the Nereids, most of the harbors and fishing ports throughout Ancient Greece had a shrine dedicated to these goddesses.
The Nereids’ main role was to act as the attendants of Poseidon so they were commonly seen in his company, and even carried his trident for him. Although they were associated with the entire Mediterranean, they were said to be particularly concentrated with the place where their father had his palace, the Aegean Sea.
The Nereids were given names that represented a personification or a specific attribute of the sea. For example, the Nereid Melite was the personification of the calm seas, Eulimene represented good harboring and Actaea was representative of the seashore. Most of the Nereids remain unknown to the majority of people and there are only few whose names are famous.
Notable Nereids
Amphitrite – Queen of the Sea
The Nereid Amphitrite is one of the most famous of the sea nymphs in Greek mythology because she was the wife of Poseidon, the Olympian sea god. Initially, Amphitrite didn’t take kindly to Poseidon trying to make her his wife and she would flee to the furthest extremes of the ocean whenever he tried to approach her. While Poseidon couldn’t find her, she was discovered by the god of dolphins, Delphin. Delphin spoke to Amphitrite and convinced her to marry Poseidon. Delphin was very persuasive and Amphitrite returned to Poseidon whom she wed and so became the Queen of the Sea.
Thetis – Mother of Achilles
The Nereid Thetis is probably more famous than her sister Amphitrite for she was known to be the Nereids’ leader. Thetis was also said to be the most beautiful of all, and even Zeus and Poseidon were both attracted to her. However, neither of them could have their way with her because of a prophecy that Thetis’ son would become more powerful than his father. Neither Poseidon nor Zeus wanted that and Zeus arranged for the Nereid to be married off to Peleus, a mortal Greek hero.
However, Thetis wasn’t interested in marrying a mortal and like her sister Amphitrite, she fled from Peleus’ advances. Peleus eventually caught her and she agreed to marry him. The events at their wedding feast would lead to the famous Trojan War.
Thetis and Peleus had a son, and just like the prophecy had stated, their son, a Greek hero called Achilles, turned out to be more powerful than his father. While Achilles was still an infant, Thetis tried to make him immortal using ambrosia and fire to burn the mortal part of him away. However, Peleus found out about this and he was shocked to see her holding the child over the flames. Thetis had to flee back to her father’s palace.
Although Thetis fled, she continued to watch over her son and when the Trojan War began, she tried to hide him away. However, he was discovered by Odysseus.
According to a myth that arose later, Thetis held on to the infant Achilles by his heel and dipped him in the River Styx and wherever the waters touched him, he became immortal. The only part of him that failed to touch the water was his heel and that part remained mortal. In myths surrounding the Trojan War, it was said that the great hero Achilles died from an arrow to his heel.
Galatea – Creator of Sea Foam
Galatea is another famous Nereid who like her sisters, was also pursued by a famous suitor, the Cyclops Polyephemus. This is one of the most popular love stories which tells of the beautiful Galatea who didn’t love Polyphemus but had lost her heart to Acis, a mortal shepherd. Polyphemus kills Acis and Galatea then transformed the body of her dead lover into a river.
There are several versions of the tale and in some Galatea did have affection for Polyphemus. In these versions, Polyphemus wasn’t a savage but a kind and sensitive man and the match between them would have been a very suitable one.
The Nereids’ Revenge
The Nereids , just like the other deities in the Greek pantheon, they were quick to lose their temper when slighted. The story overlaps with the tale of the Greek demigod Perseus at a time when Cepheus was the King of Aethiopia.
Cepheus had a beautiful wife called Cassiopeia but she recognized how beautiful she was and loved to boast about her looks. She even went so far as to say that she was far more beautiful than any of the Nereids.
This angered the Nereid sea nymphs and they complained to Poseidon. To appease them, Poseidon sent Cetes, a sea monster, to destroy Aethiopia. To placate Cetes, Cepheus had to sacrifice his beautiful daughter, Andromeda. Luckily for the princess, Perseus was returning from his quest for the gorgon Medusa’s head. He used the head to turn Cetes into stone and rescued princess Andromeda.
Theseus and the Nereids
In another tale involving the Nereids, Theseus volunteered to be sacrificed to the Minotaur, the half-bull, half-man that lived in the Labyrinth. With him were seven girls and six other boys who were all to be sacrificed. When Minos, the Cretan king, saw the girls, he was attracted by one of them who was very beautiful. He decided to keep her with him instead of letting her be sacrificed to the Minotaur.
However, at this point, Theseus stepped up, declaring that he was Poseidon’s son and stood against Mino’s decision. When Minos heard him, he took a golden ring and threw it into the ocean, challenging Theseus to retrieve it to prove that he really was Poseidon’s son.
Theseus dove into the sea and as he was looking for the ring, he came across the Nereids palace. The sea nymphs were happy to see him and they swam out to greet him. They treated him very well and even held a party for him. Then, they gave him Minos’ ring and a crown full of gems to prove that he was actually Poseidon’s son and sent him back to Crete.
In Modern Use
Today, the term ‘nereid’ is commonly used for all fairies, mermaids and nymphs in Greek folklore, and not just for nymphs of the sea.
One of the moons of the planet Neptune was named ‘Nereid’ after the sea nymphs and so was the Nereid Lake in Antarctica.
In Brief
Although there are 50 Nereids in total, we’ve only mentioned some of the most important and well-known ones in this article. As a group, the Nereids symbolized everything that’s kind and beautiful about the sea. Their melodious voices were wonderful to listen to and their beauty was limitless. They remain among the most intriguing creatures of Greek mythology.

Out of Character Information:
Name: Dylan
Pronouns: He/Him
Age: 19. 31st Jan 2
Timezone: GMT +2
Original Character Application:
Name: Caspian Tritonson
Age and Birthday: 20. Birthday unknown. His age is measured in Summer Solstices.
Faceclaim: Greg Sulkin. Dylan O'Brien
Heritage: Triton is his father and he has never met his human mother before. The Nereid that looked after him and became his mother figure is called Nylisa.
ABILITIES:
He has the ability to manipulate water. The Nereids trained him in this aspect of life. He is able to manipulate water and storms with great control and accuracy but not in large quantities, causing him to be weaker than children of Poseidon/Neptune. He had a trident that allowed him to enhance his span of control but lost it on his quest to find his father.
He has the ability to use water to heal himself and breathe underwater.
He has the ability to shapeshift, swapping his legs for a tail at will.
He has the ability to communicate with aquatic creatures.
He has enhanced eyesight. Due to the darkness of the waters, he can see better at night than most demigods and can see far objects clearer as well.
Affiliation:
Citizen but soon to be in a Cohort.
Western Atlantic Nereid Tribe
Headcanons:
As Caspian’s craving for knowledge grew, he started to explore uncharted islands, developing a great interest in all animals in tropical climates. When he arrived at New Rome, he was given a tour and was introduced to the concept of school and university. He now wishes to study Marine Biology when he has learned English and more about the modern world.
As Caspian has lived in a world of Myth and magic, he has yet to come to terms with the modern world and all its gadgets. He hasn’t been taught much but is willing to learn. He also does not understand the concept of lies and sarcasm as it was not the way of life with the Nereids.
He can often be found at the lake, swimming and speaking with the Naiads. He struggles to find demigod friends even though he tries really hard.
Biography:
An abomination to both parents, Caspian’s mother left him in a basket in a park after she had given birth to him. The pregnancy was unwanted and the father was unknown. She had met him at a beach party and he was never seen again. Awoken by Caspian’s cries, a river Naiad came to his aid and sensed the Ocean that flowed through his veins. She helped Caspian make his way through the river systems and finally to a group of Nereids in the Atlantic Ocean. They took him in and promised to raise him as one of their own.
Being a son of Triton, Caspian was treated as almost royalty. Everyone knew his name and wanted to be his friend. His powers had caused him to change his legs into a tail, causing him to resemble his father even more. The Nereids taught him everything they knew. How to communicate with aquatic creatures, how to control currents and the storms. They taught him about all the Ocean Deities and where they are normally located. He absorbed this information and always wanted to learn more. He would wonder onto uncharted islands and watch the land animals as if he was one himself.
For his 16th Summer Solstice, the Nereids presented him with his own trident, one which allowed him to channel his abilities and amplify them. He protected them and the sea life from any unwanted spirits and even human contraptions like fishing nets. The Nereids were all about cleaning the ocean and so was Caspian. They caused storms to wash away islands of plastic, performed rituals to cleanse the water and even cultivated and nurtured endangered corals and species. This year was also the first year he encountered humans. They were a couple of scuba divers on the edge of the great barrier reef whilst Caspian was trying to help the Coral recuperate. He swam away before they could get any documentation.
On his 18th Summer Solstice, the Nereids decided that it was time he met his father. He was sent on the treacherous journey and faced many foes and ocean monsters. Finally, exhausted from the constant need to heal himself and the lack of food, he found his father’s palace. There he met one of Triton’s selves. His father had the ability to divide into many versions of himself in order to complete his messenger errands. The son of the Olympian of the Oceans was uninterested in the half-breed that Caspian was and dismissed him. Instead of going home and falling into despair, he found his way to Camp Jupiter by speaking to Volturnus. He set out to prove himself to his father and earn his respect. Volturnus granted him passage over the landmasses and spat him out on the river bed of Tiber. Unable to speak English and barely any Latin, a guard of Camp Jupiter captured him and presented him to the Senate. With the aid of a Naiad from the camp, the Senate understood his intentions and made him a probation, open for any Cohort to claim. They also issued mandatory English lessons and Latin lessons.

SAY HELLO TO OUR BLUE KING AND QUEENS
EARTH, URANUS AND NEPTUNE!
EARTH: a super kind planet all too worthy of being the first habitable planet. A mother at heart, a kindred spirit and with mind she always thinks outside the box when it comes to problems! She out of all the planets it the most tech savvy with her probes, rovers and telescope, she is always on the lookout for answers while managing to keep an eye out for everything that called her home! But like the humans that walk on her surface she dose have a slight habit of running headfirst into danger and will jump kick you in the face if you a’ ugly bish’ (so far it has been kept to other reality forms of her that dont have a fucking ocean for hair). What sets her apart from most planet aside from life is the fact that she can turn into every fucking one that has lived and will live, so its not uncommon to see her rolling down the asteroid belt as a fucking dinosaur or chicken while dabbing. She also has a slight habit of taming blackholes and whiteholes ( also have a feeling that i uploaded the wrong file for earth, if it has a fucking gremlin called luna at the bottom its the wrong one)
URANUS: A blue planet set in her ways of making things from scratch, as in making a planet atom to atom. in a way she is kinda Earths opposite, never really using technology to aid her in her quests, i mean look at them they are made of flimsy plastic that wont last against throwing it at a blackhole will it? now jsut like her name she is just about as mature and a fucking rock, none at all. She can be commonly seen hanging around Neptune screeching “WHERE YO DIC AT? YOU EAT IT WHEN YOU FELL???”, this ends with a trident to the face most of the time, but when you are the montreark of the blackholes that wont stop you, not one bit.
Neptune: The transgender planet( WHO I ALWAYS FORGET THAT I NEED TO DRAW HIM FUCKING FEMININE LIKE). he went through alot of shit when he was a formling so cut him some slack when he acts cold around you.
