I recently came across this new quarterly publication called Dyke News and I’ve been really enjoying reading it! Just got the latest issue in the mail. There’s been an unseasonable heatwave where I live, and it’s been nice to sit out on my porch in the evenings with my wife and my cat and read these, listening to the birds chirping and flitting around. I think you all will enjoy it too so I wanted to share, definitely go check it out! 💜

Call for submissions!
Writer friends! Bona Books, who you may remember from their debut anthology last year, I Want that Twink Obliterated, are open again for submissions for their new anthology, Wrath Month.
From their website:
We’re seeking fantasy, science-fiction, and horror short stories that embrace punk and queer rage. There’s a glass ceiling in SFF representation, and we want you to throw a brick through it. Bring us the coven that burned Salem and your roaring bear-serkers. We want gangs of acid-wash werewolves, furious bipyromancers, flesh-eating femmes, and vengeant celestial bois—a cast of the downtrodden who make ruins of their oppressors. Wrath lies at the heart of queer liberation—it can be a spur to action and the only righteous response to a world that would prefer we didn’t exist. So crash mainframes, collapse empires, and break normativity. Pride month is over. It’s time for— Wrath Month
I chatted to the team at MCM London last year, and they were super cool. I really love the work they're doing, and you can submit/learn more here:

Signal Boost Please! Call for Submissions
Hello everyone! My name is Cassandra Jules Corrigan and I'm an author of queer-friendly kids books. You can check my creds here.
My editor Alex and I have pitched a kids' anthology of queer folklore and mythology where we're hoping to gather submissions from 10-15 different contributors of different cultural backgrounds telling a queer story from their culture's folklore or mythology. Talks have been going well, but the publisher, Jessica Kingsley Publishers (an imprint of Hachette), would like to see more submissions to get a better feel for what the final product would look like before green-lighting.
Submissions should be around 100-200 words, focused on one story, and be written in a style appropriate for late elementary/early middle school. If you would like to include sources for the story, you can put them at the end in a bibliography, Chicago/Turabian style is preferred.
We especially would like submissions from POC, but white authors are also welcome to submit.
If you would like to write something for us, you can use this form to submit. Please keep in mind that submitting does not guarantee that you will be included in the final anthology, but we will reach out to you via e-mail if we want to use your writing.
If you aren't a writer or this isn't your thing, I would still really appreciate a reblog to spread the word!
Thank you all so much!

Hiiii
I'm a writer who makes queer supernatural horror/dark fantasy/sci fi stories I was wondering if you might be okay with talking about your process in getting an editor/getting published? I know the basics, but I'm interested in hearing how people who are also writing queer stories have managed to gather followings for themselves and put their work out there
Thank you!
previous to self publishing, i participated in dvpit/pitmad which were events for unrepresented authors to pitch their works to agents and i also queried a number of agents and pubs separate from that. i received only rejections, which wasn’t really surprising because most publishers only accept fantasy romance manuscripts of a maximum length of 150-170k words. at the time, spitfire was 307k. i didn’t really take this too hard because i knew it was a long shot, since being outside of submission requirements is almost always an automatic rejection for new authors. i just wanted to be able to say i tried, honestly.
because of this and because i did not feel equipped to split the book into two by myself, i decided to self publish the book. it sold… surprisingly well. well enough that i suddenly had the budget to fund an audiobook with just enough money left over to hire a line editor to get the book polished before someone cemented my words in audio form.
i put out a call for editors on social media and got over 100 applicants. i requested editing samples from the people who were in my budget and seemed like potentially good matches. i had a lot of very strong choices but the moment i read danielle’s editing sample, i knew she was the one because she just got it, plain and simple. i was primarily looking for a line editor but i also had a couple non-syntax issues that were small enough to not require a huge structural overhaul of anything, but were big enough that my exhausted brain just wasn’t untangling them. i needed fresh eyes.
and then, as danielle and i were just hammering out our plans for our edits, claire contacted me. they’d seen some of my tiktoks about the book and were intrigued, then realized that they already knew me/my work and had actually bought a skirt from me at a con a few years back. they requested my manuscript, read it over, we had a couple meetings and then i signed with them. they suggested splitting the book into two and now that i was equipped with both a fantastic editor and agent—and now that trad pub seemed on the table and it seemed i wouldn’t need to self fund my own audiobook—i suddenly had the funds and support needed to tackle a huge structural overhaul of the once duology, now series.
all in all things only really worked out because i already had an audience who was willing to give a new author a chance. i think it helped a lot that i initially posted the book on ao3, meaning people could read it for free and didn’t have to spend money to risk being disappointed in something. it make the buy in very cheap for people. and somehow enough of them decided that they liked the book enough to buy it, giving me the funds for an editor and the numbers to look attractive to prospective publishers.
anyway don’t use this as a guide for how to get published. i have not been picked up by a publisher and even if i had, the path i’ve taken is really fucking weird and not viable for most people.
regardless, i hope this helped somehow and i wish you luck!

Do you know a character you like or love that is autistic or you believe is autistic, even if the show/author etc hasn't actually said so.
We have no banned characters. You can submit characters from any media and any genre:
~ Books ~ Comedy ~ Horror movies ~ Anime and Manga ~ Marvel or DC ~ Foreign/non English TV/media ~ Computer/console games ~ Silent films ~ Indie films ~ media from your childhood ~ Youtube Characters ~ Sci Fi etc ~
Please note, you MUST include evidence or proof or we won't accept the submission. We don't require much evidence, but there needs to something other than "just vibes" or "their whole family is autistic" (we don't know the family my friend).
Proof we do accept include - obsessive tendencies, has no social boundaries, nonverbal communication or delayed language development etc. Or even if creator of said character said so in a social media post etc.
We will only accept submissions through the submission form.
(Submissions are currently closed as of 2nd Feb 2025)
If you submit via Tumblr ask, it will be deleted. The only exception are posts submitted through the form that we require more evidence for.
The spreadsheet of submitted characters is here.
More about us below the cut!
Mod Pixie (she/they): I'm 35 and have been on Tumblr since minimally 2012, so I have Seen Some Things™️.
I love most things nerd and feel like Tumblr is particularly suited to nerddom.
I was diagnosed autistic and ADHD at 33, though I always knew I didn't quite fit in and suspected ADHD for a while. I was always just considered slightly odd, in an Anne of Green Gables way.
Fiction has always been my escape and once Tumblr introduced polls and I found the blogs mentioned, I thought someone should do the same for autistic characters! Full disclosure, it seems someone had the same idea and created a blog, but it never took off.
If you'd like to follow my main blog, please follow @pixiemusing 😄
Mod Sunflower (she/her): Hello there! You can call me Sunflower if you wish. I prefer to remain anonymous on this blog and on @aretheybisexual, but I am the co admin here/there/everywhere. I go by she/her pronouns, 30+, bisexual and am on an NHS waiting list to be diagnosed for autism (2 years and counting). I live in the GMT timezone. Tumblr veteran since 2010 roughly.
Blog mechanics: Feel free to submit ANY character you see as autistic. If you feel the need to clarify whether they are "good" or "bad" rep, feel free in the form! We will accept characters who are "problematic" or from problematic media. We will make sure to tag the media for every character.
I (Mod Pixie) will also sometimes make comment about the submissions well before they are posted. These will be tagged as Pixie Speaks, along with the character and media. The Pixie Speaks tag will also be used for general musings. Just Blog Things will be used for announcements and blog maintenance.
We hope you enjoy and if you have any questions, please DM! Please note that all submissions must be through the Google Form.
For fandoms with more than 2 submissions in a row, the submissions will be broken up with other fandom submissions in between. They may, depending on the number of submissions, be broken up across several days, which may or may not be successive. Polls run for a week.
Thanks again for stopping by!
Just for more awareness:

Call for submissions for an MCR mini essay zine!
I want to collect people’s thoughts on MCR and related work in little booklets. I’m calling the series: ALL NIGHT LONG. The topic for the first issue is: general! Pick any topic related to MCR and articulate your thoughts on it.
Do you love the band? Why? Is it the instrumentation or the storytelling? The style or sets? The history or impact? Some way the band affected your life? How does the music make you feel? Does it make you cry or dance? How does it do that? What does it mean to you? What does it mean for the band members? Does it say something interesting about the world, disease, grief, love, queerness, art? Does it make you think of this other band or movie or book you love? The filmic scenes of Demolition Lovers, the rip of guitars on Hang Em High, the harrowing lyrics of Disenchanted, the personal ties to The Kids from Yesterday, the healing power of Foundations. Think about it. Then write it down.
Guidelines:
Stick to the issue’s topic
Tone can be formal or informal, technical or personal
No fiction
As little as 50 words, as much as 800 words
If you make your own layout, make sure it’s 8.5 x 5.5 inches (h x w), 300 dpi, jpg/tiff/pdf — color is fine but ensure it looks good in BW too
Send submissions to me (angstics) through DMs, email (quezmine(at)gmail(dot)com), or tagged post
DEADLINE: October 5th — EMAIL / DM for extension
NEW: Let me know how you want to be credited (name / social media handle)
I’m planning on editing, layouting, and printing these issues :) Contact me with any questions ❤️

MAEJ TIME. IT IS MAEJ TIME.
Social media is always fun, as I'll have to try to condense into two sentences why one of our books just HAS to be read by someone, so thank God for tumblr, where I get to have as many sentences as I want and go into the nitty-gitty a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I haven't talked much about publishing on here, but I started this project (aka tRaum Books) with a friend in 2021, as a labor of love and as a venue to put out the types of books that even indie queer presses (probably) wouldn't touch. Because they were too risky (in theme and/or length); because they were queer and/or trans in a way that wasn't necessarily validating or relatable, because they slipped between genres, or were written by someone with too low of a following to net a guaranteed readership. I've never embraced the 'publisher' role and to the end, consider myself an artist and writer: of things that are too X for this crowd, and not Y enough for the other. This is not meant to be a pissNmoan. I get it. Our money is limited, our time even more so, and it makes perfect sense that someone would want to dedicate their time to a book that can clearly outline what the experience will be. That just happens to not be the type of writing I produce or what I am drawn to. I like to be surprised and am often drawn to books that surprise me and cannot be summarized easily.
So that is the type of work I have sought to put out. The hard-to-pin-down. More accurately, I should say it is the type of work that has found me, because our press notoriously has never had an open call for submissions. Books just find us when the time is right.
So I had come to Dale Stromberg's high-fantasy MAEJ not as a potential publisher, but as a beta reader and I still remember vividly my first impression of being blown away by the sheer attention to detail, the pure CRAFTSMANSHIP of the story. As intricate and precise as one of those handmade wooden puzzle boxes. But I also remember another impression: a certain sorrow from thinking, man. There is nobody on earth who would ever publish this. Not because it isn't excellent, amazing, in turns difficult and also fun to read (MAEJ is all of these things). But because it requires an immersion and trust from the reader that I believe many (if not most) simply do not possess anymore. The most powerful publishers could weave their marketing magic and get people to buy it, but the amount of readers who would actually make it to the end (if we say a book being read, not just a book being bought, is the goal)--so, such a reader seemed rare.
More simply, I felt like I had been allowed to witness some rare endangered species of a book--the kind everyone online bemoans nobody publishing anymore, yet few would honestly want to confront.
Both a relic and a touchstone. A vociferously political book that didn't sermonize--the message was baked into every magical tile paving those fictive streets. I knew then that i wanted to try to help publish the book. If the author wanted to deal with small press, that is (which many times, let's be honest, could be bestowing upon a book's forehead the kiss of obscurity).
There is not much a tiny publisher like myself can bring to a book's release that the author could not do themselves (given some investment and time and oh yeah, patience). Much of us have limited reach, and again, MAEJ was not the type of book that I felt would automatically pique the interest of many of my followers. What I could do though is help the author along in what is sometimes so hard to do for your own fiction. I could go out and yell, yo, you should really really read this. If you enjoy high fantasy, an effortless gender subversion, and prose infused with a magical playfulness. If you like to try to recreate the reading experience akin to being ten again and curling up with a huge tome of an adventure, and letting the outside world slip away. YOU NEED TO READ THIS.
Those who push past the initial resistance will be rewarded handsomely by the final grand mosaic Stromberg creates of what seem at first a plethora of chaotic, colorful tiles. It is indeed a rare and complex, awe-inspiring thing of beauty. And if you read all that and say, okay cool dude, but what the fuck is it ABOUT? (Fair.) The book is about 200293903203402023 things, but the main story-line is about four women of vastly different backgrounds who come together and try to challenge who is sacrificed to keep their magical matriarchy running.
Order your own physical or ebook copy of MAEJ. Grab a free ARC copy of the book. Add MAEJ on Goodreads.
I want to thank the author @dalestromberg for his patience with working with me. I know that dealing with me is often chicken-fried chaos, so thanks for coming along for the ride. I want to thank @zillanovikov. While she was not directly involved in this project, nobody can ask for a better writing and pub buddy and I'm really grateful to know her.
I want to thank @flameswallower for writing one of the best reviews of MAEJ ever. Not only are they an inspiring writer, but a vocal supporter of small press, and another author I am happy to have gotten the chance to work with.
And @baconorigami for all his support. <3
And to thank you, dear readers! To those of you who boost our posts, collect our books, leave reviews--engage. You make it all worth it. <3<3<3

We've run enough of these tournaments that it's probably past time to make a compiled post
Previous winners of the queer book character tournament:
Eric "Bitty" Bittle from Check, Please by Ngozi Ukazu
Wei Wuxian fromMo Dao Zu Shi/Grand Master of Demonic Cultivation by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu
Andrew Minyard and Neil Josten from All for The Game by Nora Sakavic
Previous winners of the queer book ship tournament:
Wei Wuxian/Lan Wangji from Mo Dao Zu Shi/Grand Master of Demonic Cultivation by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu
Gideon Nav/Harrowhark Nonagesimus- The Locked Tomb by Tamsyn Muir
Also since I'll be pinning this post:
i do want to remind everyone to be respectful in these polls. even if you don’t personally like one of the books listed, or your favorite is losing, someone else still submitted that book because they like it and you’re being rude to them and everyone else who enjoys that book when you’re complaining about it.
propaganda is always welcome and encouraged. i consider these tournaments to be book recommendations first and a tournament second, so i love propaganda and try to reblog as much of it as i can. but propaganda should be about why your book/ship/character is good, not why the other one is bad. that kind of behavior will get people blocked, which is really not something i want to have to do so lets all have fun instead
How the game works:
These tournaments are submission based. I post a form, leave it open for a few days, sort through the answers, and then post a list I half jokingly call quality control for you guys: the viewers at home.
The quality control is because I can’t reasonably have read every book these submissions come from. So I post a list for you guys to let me know any mistakes: characters/ships that don’t meet the requirements, repeats on the list, misspellings (I copy paste from the submissions, so if they’re misspelled and I don’t know the character I’m not going to know to fix it), or anything like that. Quality control is open until the polls actually go up, at which point tumblr doesn’t let polls be edited.
Matchups are randomly generated. This is to keep things fair.
Round one is groups of four and lasts a week to let everyone have a chance to realize the tournament has started and promote their favs.
After that rounds are 1v1 and last for three days (if the number is odd there will be one three way poll).
The final round will last one week.
List of participants in past tournaments starting with most recent (if anyone wants to use this as a reading list):

Slowburn (7) Masterlist
part one, part two, part three, part four, part five, part six
blown again into instant flame (ao3) - jonsaremembers
Summary: Dan reappears in the corner of Phil’s vision, wearing the green suit.
I’m fucked, is all Phil can think.
Because Dan is awfully fit for someone stuffed bodily into a green morph suit. Even the way the hood squashes his curls down and out over his forehead is kind of adorable
Come along (ao3) - ottertrashpalace
Summary: In medieval England, a young knight rides north, sent to serve at the court of the quiet young Duke of Lancaster
It Hits Different (ao3) - danisnotinteresting
Summary: I really have no summary for now, just read the tags please
knight of wands (ao3) - dizzy
Summary: Some days are just boring.
(And some aren't.)
life happens, coffee helps (and so do you) (ao3) - halfofacrackedbluesky
Summary: Dan makes friends with the barista at the local coffee shop.
Like a Bowl of Oranges (ao3) - cloej88
Summary: Dan has built a solid career for himself as a ghostwriter. He safely hides behind other people’s words, crafting their tales and pocketing the cash without any threat of notoriety. But lately he has been working on a book of his own, itching for a change.
Phil is an indie filmmaker who happened into some huge breaks over the last few years. He wants to use his influence to uplift queer stories for the screen, so he puts out an open call for story submissions. At his agent’s behest, Dan submits his story.
The writer!Dan and director!Phil friends/co-workers to lovers AU that we never knew we needed.
shapes and weights to choose (ao3) - queerofcups
Summary: Getting to interview Phil, Phil Lester, feels like the kind of recognition he's been working towards for years and Dan doesn't know how to handle it.
Dan's a sex toy blogger, Phil's a nearly-retired porn star. They fall in love, eventually.
The Clock Keeps Ticking (ao3) - tellsfromhale
Summary: Dan has spent over a decade growing comfortable with himself. Finally, he can live his truth, and he can do it with Phil at his side. For the first time, he's excited about what the future holds.
Then, one day, he finds himself suddenly back inside his childhood bedroom a decade in the past, and getting to that future with Phil becomes a lot more difficult.
Two Man Team (ao3) - Nefertiti1052 (Succubusphan)
Summary: This is the story of two struggling friends who after many trials and tribulations find their way back to each other and build the life they've always dreamed of.
Or how Phil changed his life by talking to random strangers on the internet.
Undercover (ao3) - phansauce97
Summary: After recovering from tragedy, Phil does his best to get back on his feet. He still had his mom, his brother, his friends, and a good future to look forward to. So, continuing to put one foot in front of the other, he pushes on.
Things turn upside down though when a new student arrives at school one day; tall, mysterious, and wearing all black.
"Dan Howell," or Agent Ten, as he's known, is a master assassin and secret agent. His mission? Go undercover to befriend, study, and ultimately - kill Phil Lester.
Yet despite his best efforts, this mission ends up being much more challenging than Dan would have previously expected, especially when he begins to fall hopelessly in love with his target.
You’re my new dream (ao3) - danniepanic
Summary: phan but based on tangled. Phil is the lost prince and Dan is the thief. it will not be 100% tangled for example Phil does not have magic long hair, but powers! not everything will be based on tangled, just the story itself is inspired by it.

Things I love about Bunny:
(a.k.a. me being a Bunny apologist)
• Adhd Humor (“Metahemeralism”)
• He’s definitely a twunk. 6’3” athlete, but also:
“Bunny lay on his stomach on the hearth rug, doing his homework”
• Just wants to be included with what’s going on between his friends. (Fomo king)
• Deflects when people ask if he's drunk or if he has a hickey.
• He’s a good artist.
• He says this about Charles:
“Charles is a handsome fellow and a sterling character all around, but I wouldn’t want to marry him, would I?”
• The jokes he makes, albeit insensitive, are so ridiculous. He definitely likes attention and making himself and other people laugh.
(The “queers being obsessed with food” gibe was so ridiculously funny to me. Bc he says that and then proceeds to be obsessed with food himself.)
• Steals a cheesecake, doesn’t like it, keeps eating it anyway.
• That time he kept stealing lamb chops, and Charles was babyishly pleading for him to “wait a minute, there won’t be enough to go around.”
• Henry being his best friend.
- Changed his major to be in Henry's class
- Wears the same glasses
- Gushes to his dad about him
- Says to Richard: “That Henry… I love him, and you love him”
• Sidenote: I love Bunny's dad. He seems so sweet. He likes to dote on his grandchildren and also their pets.
• Bunny is the baby in his family.
His terrible jokes are prob a result of this. Most likely the only way to get attention being the youngest in a family of FIVE BOYS. (nightmare)
• He is so submissive around Marion.
It’s adorable that Marion is his girlfriend bc she is such a mom, and Bunny so easily submits to her.
(When Marion is mad at him, he still sulks his way home to her even tho he's like: "who does she think she is? telling me what to do?” And then five minutes later he goes “anyways guess I'll head home now.”)
• Also, their relationship is described as that of a 20 year marriage. (silly. sweet.)
• Every person that is not the Greek Class seems to *love* Bunny.
• But Julian calls him, "timid, puritanical, almost"; "He's such a sweet boy, so silly; I'm really very fond of him."
• And Judy thinks he's hilarious.
• Bunny is not violent, unlike Henry, or even Charles. He really just talks a lot of shit.
Even when he says queer people should be burned at the stake, Richard asks him "What about Francis? He's your friend.” (Bc obvi Richard, with his amazing gaydar even tho he’s straight, can tell Francis is queer.) And Bunny is like, “He just needs to get a girlfriend.”
That’s clearly a shitty, tone-deaf thing to say, but he's not violent even though he just said “burn them.”
• Also, why is Bunny inquiring about the stuff Francis is into? He must be wondering for himself.👀
I was rooting for Bunny the first half of the book, even when I knew what would happen.🤦

A church that doesn't provoke any crises, a gospel that doesn't unsettle, a word of God that doesn't get under anyone’s skin, a word of God that doesn't touch the real sin of the society in which it is being proclaimed — what gospel is that? - Saint Oscar Romero
If you are uncomfortable with me rbing a post of yours/me interacting/etc, PLEASE let me know!! I will happily delete the post and block, no questions asked or hard feelings. I'm not here to preach or evangelize, and certainly not shame anyone. God bless
Previously Read:
The New Big Book of Christian Mysticism: An Essential Guide to Contemplative Spirituality - Carl McColman
Both in-depth and easy for beginners to understand. Breaks down what a mystic is, focusing on silence and radical love, then how to incorporate these into your prayer life. Multiple forms of prayer are offered, but the main focus is on Godly silence and contemplative prayer. Very long, but not dense, an easy read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Divine Feminine: The Biblical Imagery of God as Female - Virginia Ramey Mollenkott
Extremely short. Very easy read, not dense at all, but very focused on personal interpretation instead of 'facts'. Still very interesting in for developing personal ideas about God. But SO bioessentalist, even for discussing historical femaleness. Better reads out there on the same topic. ⭐️⭐️1/2
Jesus through Medieval Eyes: Beholding Christ with the Artists, Mystics, and Theologians of the Middle Ages - Grace Hamman
The chapters on Jesus as a Judge, Lover, and Mother were fascinating; unfortunately, the rest fell flat. The writings were too casual, and the arguments largely vibes based. While it was clearly researched, at the end of the day it felt more centered for teens than adult readers even when the subject matter was clearly intended for older, mature audiences. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reading:
Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul - Maria Faustyna Kowalska
This space is pro science, celebrates queerness, supports anti racist theology and BLM, does not tolerate antisemitism or islamophobia. Women are more than a submissive rib of Adam. Evangelizing promotes colonization and bigotry under the guise of saving souls. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven
Hello! Name’s Joan-Anthony, though Emil and Sebastian is fine as well. Raised Episcopal/Catholic, left the church, now just trying to figure myself out. This is a place to explore my feelings I guess. He/Him or Rot/Rots please. I'm named for Joan of Arc and St. Anthony. I think weird things about God. I see Christ’s humanity as more important than his divinity. Hell isn’t real, original sin isn’t real, confession isn’t a requirement, we are called to be revolutionary in our love, not to convert or damn others. There will be no ‘no true scottsman’ here. Christianity hurts, Christianity kills, and if you were hurt by the church you have every right to be angry and move away from it. I myself have no love for the establishment of the church.
Here you can expect bits and pieces of my life that I'm scared to post elsewhere, liberation theology, Christian mysticism, iconography, poetry, and spiritual ramblings.

Hi Folks, those of you (probably few and far between) academically inclined and with departmental backing to send you to Iceland might be interested in this...
The Háskóli Íslands Student Conference on the Medieval North
  "CALL FOR PAPERS
We are accepting abstract submissions for the fourteenth annual Háskóli Íslands Student Conference on the Medieval North.
The Háskóli Íslands Student Conference on the Medieval North is an interdisciplinary forum for postgraduate students (masters and doctoral level) and early career researchers working in the broad field of medieval northern studies, held every April in Reykjavík, Iceland. Students who have not given papers at an academic conference before are especially encouraged to submit. The conference will be held April 10th-12th, 2025, online and in-person at Háskóli Íslands.
This conference seeks proposals on the theme of “Other Things.”
The Other has been a perennial subject in the study of the medieval north. We ask: what constitutes an Other? What Others have been ignored? How is Otherization expressed across the field’s subdisciplines? We playfully consider the double meaning of “things,” seeking consideration of objects forgotten or buried beneath academic attentions. What critical lenses have been neglected? What Other Things are there left to discover?
We accept abstract submissions on a wide range of topics connected to this theme, including but not limited to art history, archaeology, digital humanities, folklore, gender and queer studies, literary studies, manuscripts and paleography, philology, reception of the medieval period, and religious studies.
We ask that submissions address the theme.
Presenters will have the opportunity to submit their papers for a conference proceedings volume, to be published as an e-book in the autumn of 2025.
Interested student scholars should email an abstract of 250-300 words, along with a brief biography containing name, pronouns, institution, and program of study, to [email protected] by DECEMBER 2nd, 2024. Please indicate whether you intend to attend the conference online or in person. The Committee reserves the right to make selections based on quality of written abstracts, adherence to submission guidelines, and timely submission.
Detailed submission guidelines are here:
The languages of the conference are Icelandic and English. Individual paper presentations will be 20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes for discussion. There is also a Poster Session for students to present their material in poster form. Students may apply for either a paper or a poster. The conference committee may offer a poster presentation to some paper applicants. Please direct any further inquiries to the Conference Committee by email.
Áfram!"
