Scrolling tumblr all day, rejoicing in a beautiful world of kinky transgender furries. Only to open TikTok and get three different videos of gays shitting on puppy play. Disgusting, horrendous, embarrassing, back to tumblr I go

Being horny is morally neutral. Being sexual is morally neutral.
If you look at someone and think "wow, I'd like to fuck them," you're just as moral and normal as someone who thinks "their dress is pretty" or "they look like a good friend."
Sexuality and being horny are normal and cool and okay and HEALTHY. It is healthy to want to fuck people and to crank off or whatever.
It's completely fine to think sex is gross and not want to have sex or kiss or anything like that but as soon as you start shaming people for their sexuality or trying to push celibacy or anything like that onto other people, you're an asshole

Girl, wake up. Someone unlocked a new level of puritanical bullshit on Tumblr.

If you want context. (Context doesn't help much, actually.)

Growing up I could watch any damn movie or show with the most heinous acts of violence but as soon as there was even the hint of sexuality it was an issue. Between sex and violence which is more natural? Your kids will probably grow up and have sex but I hope to god they don’t grow up and murder
media these days lets children see people murdering other people and getting blown up in explosions and stabbing and shooting and blood and death but god forbid a titty out

Friendly reminder that everyone engaging in ship discourse within the Ghost fan base is a loser and the block button is free. Secure your peace of mind and never forget: it ain't that fucking serious.

hello to everyone who is gasping over the "let buck fuck" quote.
I'm bisexual. I've fucked around with men and I've fucked around with women. Sometimes I've fucked around with both at the same time. I'll probably keep doing it, because that's my choice and I enjoy it. My experience may not be your experience, or the experience of all bisexual people, but it is still my experience and I can promise it's not a singular one.
The truth is that it wouldn't be out of character for Buck to fuck around. And it's really really okay for someone to explore their sexuality with consenting adults. The existence of a stereotype isn't an excuse for slut shaming. Bisexual people who choose to sleep around shouldn't have to whitewash their choices just because it makes you uncomfortable. :)

I for one really can't take reading this shit around anymore. But how do you read a book and completely cripple the plot the characters and the meaning of it? This is total lack of understanding and projection. Bring me the pages of TVA where Armand fights against Marius for his independence or identity?
1- Amadeo confronts Marius, on immense issues such as religion, life, his past, his pain, and his religious trauma. Their relationship is based on an ideological exchange, Marius is an atheist while Amadeo is a believer, theirs is an exchange of thoughts and feelings. They are two worlds in comparison. Even in their approach to life: Marius is extremely rational, Amadeo is extremely sentimental. Amadeo at most rebels to receive attention from Marius, to always be the center of his thoughts. Not for independence not for identity.
2- For God's sake if you don't stop this crap that Marius is attached to Amadeo's youth and does everything to keep it. First of all, Marius had no intention of turning Amadeo so young, and that is one of the things he repeats most often, one of the things that grieves him the most. Like the fact that he tried to separate himself from Amadeo because he loved to see him living his mortal life surrounded by friends and happiness. All that was taken away from Marius himself, kidnapped and offered as a sacrifice to the tree god. So no, Marius is not dedicated to preserving Amadeo's youth. Lies. It is only because Amadeo is poisoned and Marius is forced to decide whether to see him die or make him a vampire. Oh and for the record Marius does everything humanly possible to try to save Amadeo without turning him. And if you have such big problems that you have to project the fact that Marius shaves Amadeo before transforming him, making it a disgraceful thing or aimed at the fact of pedophilia, fuck off, because there is no input in TVA that this is even remotely considered. The truth is that Marius brings back and performs on Amadeo the same transformation procedure that the Druid priests did on him. It is a ritual, it is what Marius was taught, about how to create another vampire. It is like a rite of passage, with certain moments and actions to be performed.
3- for personal amusement I add that in prince Lestat, Lestat himself insists that it is Marius who transforms his loved ones, because only Marius is able to create truly powerful vampires, only he knows and is able to recreate the ritual of creating another vampire. And although there are stronger vampires than Marius, Lestat does not want anyone else to transform those he loves, because he trusts only Marius in being able to perform the ritual.

Look what I found plastered on a post with some fanart that I shall, apparently, not be interacting with...
Tumblr media
There is something just so deeply tacky, rude, and fucking arrogantly entitled about this approach to existing in a fan space. It's exactly like slapping up "No Girlz Alowed" signs on your rickety treehouse in the woods.
I get that incest squicks people and I would never push it on anyone. I tag so folks can avoid it. And once I know that someone doesn't like it on their posts I am quite capable of not adding it to their posts while still appreciating and sharing their posts.
But this blanket statement forbidding me from interacting with them at all, regardless of whether I leave my ship out of the interaction or not, is neo-puitanical bullshit that has decided that how we enjoy our fiction is reason for ostracizing. It also puts the responsibility for managing this person's Tumblr experience on other people's shoulders rather than them doing to work of blocking tags and problematic blogs themselves.

I am reblogging this from deep in covid quarantimes because last week somehow this was determined by tumblr to need a mature label. So I appealed it, and I just received notification that my appeal had been reviewed and they are sticking by their decision.
Not that I expect tumblr’s absurdly vague definition of mature to have literally any consistency at all, but I have to point out the nonsense of this. First of all there is zero mature content in the actual post, it’s a direct link to a Twitter thread that has a video embedded, which you watch on Twitter, not tumblr, and the thread has no mature content either, just some innuendo and giggling. The video itself is of a guy in the 80s doing a calisthenics routine for a segment on a BBC variety talk show. Like, I don’t know how much stodgier and family friendly you want to get, you know? Admittedly, the man is wearing a mesh crop top and incredibly small shiny shorts, and he at one point rolls his hips a lot. But he is fully clothed, the context is not sexual, and the woman they cut to at the end of the clip is thinking contemplatively but says and does nothing lewd either. Yes, you can make out the shape of his genitals under the shorts, and yes, he is conventionally attractive. But if this needs a mature community label, so does literally all ballet, honestly all dance, including links to videos on other websites. So would literally any workout video, especially anything involving the glutes, or a woman in a sports bra, or someone doing downward dog in a yoga routine. Last I checked, everyone has a body, including minors. If some fully clothed hip thrusting in the context of a warm up routine from the 80s is mature, then middle school was the most mature time of my life.

It's rant time
I swear every time a person says "Alina was a little girl/teenager" and "the Darkling was a weirdo for wanting her" my peace is replaced by an immense annoyance.
So just because the Darkling is immortal he's not....allowed to have a relationship?? So what, he must remain single and alone forever otherwise he's gonna break your white moral code? Do all immortal creatures must remain single and not have a partner?
Since when was Alina a "little girl"? She was seventeen, a certified adult by the Grishaverse standards since people are considered adults by the age of sixteen. So where did the "teenager" term came from?
And bold of you to assume that the word "teenager" even exists in this universe. In the Grishaverse you're a child and then you straight up become an adult at the age of sixteen. There are no teenage years for them.
And these passages from "King of Scars" prove it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"She's barely sixteen" - which probably means that sixteen is also the age where girls begin to get married. In this case, Elke Marie will get married even sooner and no one bats an eye (everyone except Nikolai who tries to find an excuse to not get married).
And let's not forget the fact that Alina was immortal while she still had her powers. So if she had never lost them, sooner or later she would inevitably end up with Aleksander. The only other creature who could be with her.
Literally no Grishaverse character was disturbed or raised eyebrows for Alina's age. They all chastised her for wanting the "bad guy". Because it was the choice that made them revolt not the age, since she was an adult by then. They expected much from her (to rule, to lead, to fight) because quite simply she wasn't a child.
This babyfication of female characters in every piece of media has become a trend and I don't like it. You people will never accept other fictional universes' rules and you will never allow female characters to have depth and complexity. Alina had a sexual desire for the Darkling, she had feelings for him, she wanted power and she had her own darkness inside her but you will never get her out of the "she was just a little girl" description. You make her even worse than how she was written.
And it's evident how you have no problem with Nikolai proposing to Alina and even suggesting that he wanted children with her but everyone raged when the Darkling showed interest and sexual desire for her.

Every now and then I'm reminded of the insane American, Puritan desire to add moral weight to all sorts of things which are, by nature, absolutely unrelated to morals. Then politicians take advantage of those deep-seated prejudices to enact laws making it harder for innocent people to get aid or to punish innocent people, and supposedly "woke" people nod and go, "Well, I guess that makes sense."
Being overweight isn't evil or morally questionable. Being overweight shouldn't open someone to judgement or prevent them from good healthcare.
Someone falling sick just means they fell sick. That's it. Can we please get over the ancient perspective of illness (including covid!) being a sign of moral wrongdoing and people deserving their fate? "Well, this person got sick because they were stupid, and they deserve what they got." Everyone deserves good medical care. Once you start putting people in "deserving" and "undeserving" boxes, you're opening the door to you one day being shoved into the "undeserving" box.
Someone being homeless. Holy fuck. Most of the people in the United States are horrifyingly vulnerable to becoming homeless, but when it happens to someone? They deserved it. They did something wrong. Why should we help them? Homelessness isn't an individual, moral issue: it is a fucking systematic issue.
The list keeps going. This mentality just opens the door for people to merrily judge others while dismissing their own behaviors and actions, because the other person is morally impure and they are "Good people." That's not how it works. This stuff doesn't come with a moral weight. You're just being a self-righteous dick.
