Welcome to the Saturnalia Event of the de Romanus coven! And Thank everyone who will attend the event, we hope you all have a lot of fun!
This year our event is inspired by the Saturnalia festival of ancient Rome. Each prompt recalls an aspect of this Roman festival.
The event will take place from December 20 to December 23.
The prompts are free, and can be approached either from a modern point of view, with a reference to ancient Rome, or by setting them in ancient Rome. The event is open to any ship and any Anne Rice character. We ask for respect for the characters and for Anne Rice; submissions should celebrate the vampire chronicle books with positivity and affection.

Ancient Rome through the art of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema.
"Alma-Tadema's highly detailed depictions of Roman life and architecture, based on meticulous archaeological research, led Hollywood directors to his paintings as models for their cinematic ancient world, in films such as D. W. Griffith's Intolerance (1916), Ben Hur (1926), and Cleopatra (1934). The design of the Oscar-winning Roman epic Gladiator (2000) took its main inspiration from his paintings, as well as that of the interior of Cair Paravel castle in The Chronicles of Narnia (2005)" "Alma-Tadema' s The Tepidarium (1881) is included in the 2006 book 1001 Paintings You Must See Before You Die." I think there is no greater absurdity than someone writing Marius realized Akasha was right. Like huh?!!! But what if he is the only one who has actually exposed himself against her and her idiocy? Akasha ...right..but don't talk bullshit please! There is no more bastard and terf figure than her in the universe 😂 and she is a really well written good villain, not a girl boss baby Queen 🤣🤣 give me a break

Oh, it's so simple. I should have remembered. But memory is desperate to leave us. Memory knows that we cannot endure its company. Memory would reduce us to fools.
Ah, listen to old mortals when they have nothing but memories of childhood. How they go on mistaking those around them for persons long dead, and no one listens.
How often I have eavesdropped on them in their misery. How often I have wondered at their long uninterrupted conversations with ghosts in empty rooms.

It will never not be fun for me to see people who keep writing nonsense about Marius, like stay away from this or that character or I hope that character says/does this against him. They don't even realize that in the books Marius, even if he doesn't want to at times, is the figurehead of all the characters, everyone looks at him with love and respect, he is the figure that other characters turn to. Marius is loved respected and adored by the coven. It's a little like not being able to read, I don't understand why people insist on wanting to see something that isn't there or expect it to be different from how it is in the Canon. I repeat myself I think these books are not for certain people if that is why they read them, free to hate them or write that they didn't like them, but not to report nonsense.

“Pretty Bianca, what makes you say this, that I’m his lover?”
“Everyone knows it,” she whispered. “You are his favorite. Do you think you’ve made him angry?”
“Oh, if only I could,” I said. I sat up. “You don’t know my Master. Nothing makes him lift his hand to me. Nothing makes him even raise his voice. He sent me forth to learn all things, to know what men can know.”
— The Vampire Armand
