[outdated] Puppy Love Legacy Challenge - Sims 4

Description: A ten generation legacy challenge revolving around my interpretation of different dog breeds and their personality trends.

Note: - This is all in my own opinion and is for fun, nothing is meant in offense to any breed, or to be taken literally. The legacy challenge is to commemorate my late Jack Russell Terrier, Princess. I'm unaware of any similar challenges so I decided to create my own!

(This has not yet been tested and is open for suggestions as it is played out! Under traits, I only include traits that must be completed in addition to traits needed for that generations career)

Generation One - Jack Russell Terrier

Traits: Active, hot headed, genius

Skills: mischief max, fitness max, cooking level 6

Career: Fitness, pro athlete branch

Aspiration: Chief of Mischief

Generation notes: Date one sim your entire life and marry them as an adult. Have as many kids as you like. Regularly get into fights with your sims neighbors. Find all the frogs in the frog collection and have a room dedicated to them.

Generation Two - German Shepard

Traits: Perfectionist, adventurous, loves the outdoors

Skills: Selvadoradian culture max, fishing max

Career: Secret Agent, diamond agent branch

Aspiration: Jungle Explorer

Generation notes: Must complete aspiration before having children and must be an adult. Sell relics for money on the sell table while also keeping some to decorate your sims house with. Take a vacation to Selvadora at least three times. Have two fish tanks with fish you catch. Have two children of your own and adopt one. Marriage is optional but not preferred as you’re married to work.

Generation Three - Golden Retriever

Traits: Goofball, clumsy, cheerful

Skills: Charisma max, comedy max

Career: Detective

Aspiration: Neighborhood Confidant

Generation notes: Must have at least three children, preferably with one set of multiples or triplets! Go to the park at least twice a week by yourself or with family. Go jogging every night after work. Own a pool. Donate at least 100k this generation.

Generation Four - Chihuahua

Traits: Evil, perfectionist, kleptomaniac

Skills: Baking max, singing max

Career: Criminal

Aspiration: Villainous Valentine

Generation notes: Have only one child and never marry. Steal constantly from this child's parent to make up for "back child support". Spend your nights after work at karaoke bars. Have music playing loudly in the late and early hours of the night to annoy your neighbors.

Generation Five - Basset Hound

Traits: Lazy, glutton, childish

Skills: cooking max, gourmet cooking max, charisma max

Career: Unemployed/Odd Jobs

Aspiration: Friend of the World

Generation notes: Never have a job while living off your parents money. Do not exercise or go to the gym. Have a friends-with-benefits that you have your children with. Order groceries regularly. Max at least one other skill of your choosing. Have a "sim den" in your home with lots of comfort items. Spend most nights sleeping in there by "accident".

Generation Six - French Bulldog

Traits: Proper, jealous, high maintenance

Skills: at least five skills to level five - players choice

Career: Salaryperson and after that, player choice.

Aspiration: Renaissance Sim

Generation notes: Live in a mansion. Always wear a dress or a suit (formal style). Throw a dinner party once a week. Have a white Persian cat. Always hire nannies to care for your children. Have a "nice" bathroom that you never use.

Generation Seven - Boxer

Traits: Foodie, bro, geek

Skills: research & debate max, logic max

Career: Education, administrator branch

Aspiration: Academic

Generation notes: Marry your college sweetheart but later find them cheating on you. Find love in a co-worker and remarry in your adult years. In your free time, go to Sulani and swim in the ocean. Read one book a day for fun. Never miss new years and always hire a bartender for parties. Have at least three best friends.

Generation Eight - Pomeranian

Traits: Mean, romantic, snob

Skills: violin max, piano max

Career: Business, investor branch

Aspiration: Serial romantic

Generation notes: Have four kids by four different sims. Marry rich, take their money and leave them homeless. Only watch the romance channel on TV. Have movie nights re-watching Simder once a week and order pizza. Be a millionaire by the end of this generation. Buy two of the The Virtuoso Violin and keep one for display on a high shelf.

Generation Nine - Poodle

Traits: Self-absorbed, foodie, self-assured

Skills: flower arranging max, gardening max

Career: Actress

Aspiration: Beach Life

Generation notes: Get one of the most expensive massages a week, minimum. Never repair any household objects yourself, always hire a repair sim. Have a roommate that your sim thinks they’re better than (a sim that doesn't have as nice things or clothes). Have at five outfits for each category to flaunt your wealth. Own beachside property.

Generation Ten - Pitbull

Traits: Loyal, good, family-oriented

Skills: video gaming max, parenting max, rock climbing max

Career: Law, judge branch

Aspiration: Successful Lineage

Generation notes: Have trouble finding a spouse because of being misunderstood. Go through a minimum of four significant others before finding another misunderstood sim (not as preferable traits, unique quirks, different looking). Spend free time rock climbing with family. Never hire a nanny, but kids can go to daycare. Don't hire a maid, have the kids help with household chores to teach life skills. As a judge, always make choice for the greater good.

Before the onset of the Dark Days, Panem has seen no better tag team than that of Crassus Snow and Thanatos Swansworth, your father.

Men who helped shape the society, who kept the rebels at bay by putting a leash on them.  They were the lightbringers of the Capitol and the harbingers of death to the Districts.  They were well respected, or feared.  Nobody really cared to understand the difference.

And to you and Coriolanus, they were people to be highly looked up to, they were not the best fathers but they were great men.  And being their children, given the task to take up the challenge of reviving their legacy is a dream.

Although, it was never that easy.

Coriolanus Snow is your classmate in the academy, but he never really liked to socialize with you.  It was a great insult to you when he once left your company to seek out Sejanus, a person he claims only to tolerate.

It did not deter you.

In class, you tried to offer smiles to him, asking him about his day, and he would respond to you curtly.

When there were gatherings, you tried to get him to make you his date, lingering by his side like a desperate little puppy, but it was always Clemensia Dovecot, his class partner who got the honor of having an arm looped around his.

It hurt you deeply.  Especially when you always believed as a child that it was him you would marry.  Your fathers loved to bring it up in every opportunity they had.  They say that you and Coriolanus are one and the same. 

Coriolanus disagrees with that.

Aside from having dead tyrant fathers, you had nothing else to sympathize over.  

He had chosen his friends well.  They were promising individuals, truly in the path of being the next great leaders of Panem.

And you, of course you were an exceptional student, someone who made it into the Academy’s top 24 best-performing students.

The news of having to become mentors in the 10th annual Hunger Games made your stomach turn.

Death was not foreign to you, your mother made sure you watched every single game.  She said it was a way of honoring your late father.  She has done it every year until she followed your father in death.

As a child, you had to develop resistance to brutality.

And the thought of having to take part in the backgrounds of such savagery did not affect you.  The task, however of having to make your first step into the path your father wanted you take, had you completely anxious.

They had given you a young boy from District 8.  He was plain.  You saw no potential in him.  Not that you voiced that out when they assigned him to you.  It was only when you got to talk to him and he told you interesting things you can do with a sewing needle that your interest was piqued.

Coriolanus was invested in his tribute.

You saw it, heard it, as you passed him in the cafeteria when he had his luncheons with Sejanus.  The way he looked at Lucy Gray’s eyes, the way they talked with such familiarity.  You had trouble hiding a sneer.  Surely, he would not stoop so low as to trick a woman’s affections just so he can come out as the victor.

When the games started, Cooriolanus became more and more detached, jittery, always on edge, as if using every moment to scheme.

That evening, you chose to rest early so you can come back before the break of dawn.

You were alone when you arrived, and you were met with the battered face of your tribute.  Had it not been for his clothing, you would not recognize him with how bad his face has suffered from the brutal blows.

You stand in front of the screens, your body rigid as you cross an arm over your chest to support the other.  You saw your father doing it often when he was plotting with Crassus.  He often had a thumb under his chin and his index pressed in his lips as if to silence anyone who dared disturb him, and overtime, you managed to acquire the same gesture.

Your eyes were calculating as you watched every detail around him.  It was a bloodbath around him.  From the looks of the splattered blood, the culprit did not hold back.  And the weapon, it was lying on the side, the concrete painted crimson.

Your narrowed eyes squinted at the other tributes, hardly anybody moved from their spots.  Who could have done it?

You stood in the middle of the stage, eyes on every screen.  Most of them had their own chosen weapons.  What could have happened that your tribute had to die such a slow and brutal death.  A pitchfork to the heart or an ax to hack his throat would have been better, at least his suffering would have been short.

Coriolanus Snow arrived after you.  His eyes were blown, his forehead sweaty, and his shoulders stiff.  He made no effort to acknowledge you first, you decided to do it for him.

“How have you been?”  You ask gently.  “I see your tribute is still cooped down there.”

He glances at you and at Lucy Gray on screen.  “Yours?”

“Dead.”  You smile at him.

The stillness in his movement did not go unnoticed by you, so did the grimace he pulled when he moved his shoulder wrong.  You did not hide the way your eyes scanned his posture and he was watching you as you did so.

“Where were you last night, Corio?”  Your smile is still on your face.  Tone similar to the usual one you used when you ask for extra notes in class.

“Library.”  He spoke with practiced calmness.

“In the middle of the night?”  Your brows frown playfully.  “And in the middle of the games?”

His back straightens at the tone of your voice.

Coriolanus Snow always detested how you were your father’s daughter.  It was unfair to you, of course.  But how is it that you, the daughter of Thanatos Swansworth did not have to suffer like him when he also lost his father.  You were a sweet little girl.  But the way you are at this moment, he started second guessing everything he knew about you.

“Were you scouring for strategies, you sly little fox?”  You giggle as you walk over to him.

Coriolanus did not respond. 

For a moment you just look at each other.  His eyes are as glacial as you remember.  He really is attractive, his ambitious nature even more so.

You squeezed his arm and the way your eyes darted to his shoulder had him holding his breath. 

“Promise me you will not do anything stupid again, please?”  You say with your voice barely above a whisper, almost begging him.  He tries to break free but you pull his coat with your free hand, you are gripping his arm now.  “Please, Corio.”  You press yourself closer to him, eyes searching for something that is clearly not there.

He grabs your wrist tightly, making you let go of his coat.  His eyes are not fazed with the unshed tears in your eyes.  As his lips remain a firm line, you shy away from his cold gaze, feeling utterly pathetic. 

But you will not let him see that he got through you.

It never ceases to amaze him how you can pull such authentic looking smiles.

“May the odds be ever in your favor, Coriolanus Snow.”

You stand on your tippy toes to press a kiss to his jaw and you leave him there with his thoughts building up a storm inside that golden head of his.

Reclaimed Roots, A Legacy Challenge.

One fateful day, as you flip the pages in the local newspaper, your eyes fall upon an advertisement for an affordable farm on the outskirts of town. This farm had fallen into disrepair, abandoned and forgotten by its previous owners, who had inherited the farm but chose to not take care of it. Despite its rundown state, a flicker of hope ignited within your heart. Your dream of owning a small farm to raise your future family may become a reality! 

You call the owner’s of the property and they start asking for more money. This went from being an affordable farm to a pricey one! You decide to take a leap of faith and go for it. Packing your belongings immediately and setting out for the neglected farms of your dream. When you arrive, you see just how neglected the farm truly is. You find a weathered farmhouse, its paint peeling and windows cracked, surrounded by overgrown fields and rotten fences. But you see beauty hidden underneath it all. 

You see a vision of what this farm could be. A fresh coat of paint, rescued animals, beautiful old oak trees flourishing, children riding their bikes and fishing in the pound. This is where you want your new life you begin.

Required Packs: For Gameplay: Cottage Living, Cats and Dogs, and a pack that allows yard sales. House is made with a bunch of packs but is mostly just all clutter! Main items are from the gameplay packs.

Rules: Aspiration must be country caretaker Start with $500 Place @simsyworld’s lot from the gallery called "Abandoned Farm" hashtag #reclaimedroots or #reclaimedrootslegacy Each generation must live on the family farm. This may call for an extension of the house, a second floor, or a basement. If your sim has more than one kid, they can move out. But the sim you decide to cary on the legacy must live on the farm. Your house has no wifi, so no computers or gaming consoles. A TV can be bought after you fix up the house.  Your sim cannot have a job. Make money by yard sales or odd jobs. Your sim’s teenager sim’s can have a part-time job but they must still help out on the farm Wake up by 6:30am every day to take care of the animals (can take a nap after animals have been cared for) Cannot use “the hand of god” (selling in inventory) UNLESS there is more than 20 in a stack of crops. All other items must be sold during a yard sale. Have a yard sale at least once a week, every Sunday. If it is raining you can skip the yard sale. Sell anything you collect, baked goods, rocks, ect.

Generation One

Name the farm after your last name

Clean the house, buy a new mailbox, pick the weeds, and apply a fresh coat of paint to the house.

Find a stray cat to be your farm cat. This cat likes to live outdoors, so place a bed and food outside. If you get a full relationship with the cat, it can live indoors.

Buy 6 chickens and name each one. 

Build a relationship with each animal before getting a new one

Enter a Finchwick Fair competition 

Befriend the animals and complete the country caretaker Aspiration

Reach level 10 for Farming, Fishing, Cooking

Fall in love with a local farmer

Get married and have a ceremony on the farm

Have 1-2 children

When your first child is born, rescue a puppy that will become best friends with your child

When each sim ages up to a child, you must buy them a bike as a birthday present so your sim’s child can go on adventures.

Teach your children how to fish, cook, and garden

Generation Two

You grow up loving the farm and craving the taste of fresh produce. You watched your parents sell produce and baked goods every Sunday morning and thought it would be a great idea to go bigger! You decide to work towards your goal of making your name in town a staple by opening a store named after your family! 

Have the Freelance Botanist Aspiration 

Paint the house a new color since after all these years it needs a fresh coat.

Buy your family their first computer now that you have wifi

Reach level 10 for Cooking, Baking, Charisma 

Find a stray dog to adopt into the family

Enter a Finchwick Fair competition

Fall in love, get married, and divorced. This relationship didn’t work out.

Own a bakery, store, or restaurant that focuses on the idea of selling food or produce that is fresh. You do not have to have yard sales after you build a store. 

Become good friends with at least 20 sims outside of your household. 

A local baby/child was dropped off at the fire station. You decide to adopt this sim to live on the family farm! 

Build max relationship with your sim’s child. 

Teach your sim’s child how to garden, cook, and fish.

Fall in love and get married

Have family dinner all together on Friday nights including your sim’s siblings who moved out

Generation Three

You were adopted into the most loving family. You fell more into the creative side of life. Always drawing, painting, doing arts and crafts. When you got older you fell in love with the relaxation of making floral arrangements. 

Have the Painter Extraordinaire Aspiration

Reach level 10 for Floral Arrangements, Painting, Gardening

Make 3 masterpiece paintings

Befriend all the animals on the farm with max relationship

Inherit the family business and turn it into a floral arraignment store. You can also sell your paintings here.

Have 5 maxed relationship friends who you always hang out with

Enter a Finchwick Fair competition

Fall in love with 1 of the 5 friends. 

Have family dinner’s on Friday nights and friend dinner’s on Monday night

request: I feel like we NEED to see how do they celebrate starfall as a family! I would die to see Eris with baby Finna trying to make everything perfect for Y/N as she definitely misses starfall with her brother. I feel that Eris would do everything to make it perfect!!!

Summary: Eris cares for a bedridden Y/N, ensuring she rests following their recent loss while balancing the needs of their baby, Finna. Amidst their struggle, they find solace and strength in their unwavering love and support for each other.

Happy 1st spark

Summary: Finna turns one and Eris and Y/N need to make it special

So he did it?

Summary: Y/N returns home after a difficult visit to the healer, burdened by the news of how magical force fields had impacted her pregnancy and her diminished chances of conceiving again. Eris greets her with concern and support, creating a moment of quiet solace as she prepares to confront the heavy truths ahead.

Puppy litter

Summary: Eris discovers that Ace, their loyal hound, has fathered a litter with a pregnant female dog. They decide to name the dog Charlie, and Y/N introduces their one-year-old son, Finna, to their new family member. Despite Finna’s adorable attempts to say Charlie’s name, Ace remains fiercely protective of his new companion, signalling the start of a new chapter for their growing family.

I just read 'the grudge' and OH MY GOD! I am impressed really. You did such a great job writing it. And the end? It was perfect.

I have a request with a similar dynamic like they were lovers and he cheated and she knows about it (i live for the angst really) then she confronts him and breaks up with him. He isn't very happy about it and wants her back he tries everything but she still refuses to give in to him. So he goes all dark! "Go away now. Your last Hunger Games must be amazing and unforgettable, or I'll tell her what you have planned for her." He laughs at this, shaking his head.

"I appreciate your attempts to intimidate me, but you know I'll be happy with any outcome. Whether it's keeping her on a leash or reshaping her to meet my needs as my future First Lady."

"But we both know which one you would prefer more." They share a sinister smirk. Coriolanus owed her a lot. He's learned many things under her tutelage... things that he uses to make sure you know that your place is always with him.

"As I said, I love a challenge. I will be expecting you as an honoured guest at this year's Hunger Games and my wedding. Of course, right next to my fiancée."

"Don't scare her away, Mr. Snow." She reminds him when he receives a package from her with the latest biological weapon. He will test it at this year's tributes. He smiles, thinking that it must have come from your talented fingers.

"Snow lands on top, Dr. Gaul." He assures her and says goodbye, leaving through a secret passage.

Description: A ten generation legacy challenge revolving around my interpretation of different dog breeds and their personality trends.

Not noted in graphics below but generally I like to start legacies in a rags to riches style, but this is not necessary!

Creator Notes: This is all in my own opinion and is for fun, nothing is meant in offense to any breed, or to be taken literally. The legacy challenge is to commemorate my late Jack Russell Terrier, Princess. If Iroh can come back from laying siege to Ba Sing Sei they'd have to let Azula into the fold by this logic.

Also uh...if Iroh is redeemable does that mean Ozai is by this logic? Because he is probably around the same age Iroh was when Lu Ten got bodied and Iroh pretty switched up by the time we see him in S1. And if he isn't, it's not because of his actions being heinous, but because he's a stubborn bastard.

Honestly I think Iroh just got lucky, if people say the siege of Ba Sing Se like we saw Azula and Ozai's crimes I don't think Iroh would be as liked as he is now.

People love Iroh because he is a noble, caring, and wise mentor for mostly Zuko and occasionally Toph and Aang as well. Three extremely popular and beloved characters. Ozai is hated because he is the current Fire Lord who is causing the continued suffering and torment in the world as an imperialistic dictator emperor along with his vicious child abuse of melting a quarter of Zuko’s face. Azula on the other hand is hated for being Zuko’s rival and tormentor along with being the extremely cunning & intelligence Machiavellian force against the Gaang, Water Tribes, and the Earth Kingdom resistance.

People love the wounded puppy and loving caretaker scenario along with the adopted abused child victim backstory. You are kinda compelled by the narrative to pity, care for, and root for these characters by the narrative and writers. This is why Zuko and Iroh are extremely popular in the first place; due to their sympathetic situation of being the underdogs of the story. Especially when they are exiled and hunted on the run in Book 2.

The fact that we see Iroh guide and mentor Zuko and the Gaang gives the viewer the impression that Iroh truly is a good man in his heart and can't be the same horrible monster that Ozai and Azula are treated like in the narrative and by fans. This however would be different if the audience and viewers had a glimpse of a young Iroh as the Grand General of the Fire Nation Army and The Dragon of the West! The invader of Ba Sing Sei and who laid seige for 600 days!

I however think Ozai and Azula are capable of redemption if they want it personally and slowly have their imperialistic mentality and brainwashing corruption challenged with the help of their caring family members. The Legacy of Sozin’s Fire Imperialism and Azulon’s Child Abuse has left deep scars on not just the ATLA world and Fire Nation but on the Fire Nation Royal Family as well!

Onto a very generic question I would not be surprised might already be sitting in your inbox.

I am aware that your current project is to continue on ever after high with all the cannon (mostly the cartoon I think, but I can assume the books count too? And maybe doll boxes/diaries? It’s a lot).

If there was one subject you would want to rewrite or remove from canon entirely, what would it be (challenge would be to not name the disaster that is epic winter).

And on a lighter note, favorite/stuck-on-repeat part of the series (I’m sorry this ask is so long, Idnk how to shorten things)?

omg no this isn’t too long at all i’m actually so thrilled to be given something this long to look at!

for starters, in terms of continuing ever after high, my thing is that i want to follow the show canon above all, but i do want to conclude a lot of the stuff touched on in external media such as books and dairies etc. though in doing so i’m not going to treat anything that doesn’t come straight from the show as something to abide by completely. because the show and the books and what not have inconsistencies in numerous ways, such as defining what a royal/rebel is, or characterization, or even the novelizations of the specials having alternate tellings of the stories. i don’t even want to really necessarily change anything mentioned in the books when adapting it so much as ADD to the information provided in ways that aid the story in which i aim to tell.

i.e. the evil queen turning raven’s puppy Prince into a bone rat. what about Nevermore? where was she? WHEN was she? well i think the evil queen could have perhaps, upon feeling remorse, secretly gone and sought out a dragon for raven, and brought Nevermore home without telling raven it was her doing, so that she would have a new pet companion.

anywho, as for your actual questions, for the first one, i’m probably gonna have to go with the whole sequence in Way Too Wonderland when they’re going from class to class. see, when i first watched it, i got this feeling they were going to go from class to class and in each one a different girl in the group would demonstrate their strong point in solving how to pass the class.

if not that, i think i’d change who got to go and do the whole storybook page thing in Thronecoming. i think it should have just been the core four + ashlynn there, really. and less of them could have opened the door for more time getting to see briar seeing what raven’s point of view is like when faced with the reality of her story.

on a more basic note i’d just go back and make sure everyone were not introduced to from the start is actually there. at least, there for Legacy Day. they don’t have to talk or do anything, it would just be nice to know they were THERE.

anywho, in regards to your other question, that’s a tough one. i mean, i have a few. basic answer is raven’s Legacy Day declaration. it’s just iconic and a real powerful moment that shapes the narrative. i love it. there’s also pretty much all of briar’s scenes in Thronecoming. (and obviously her snapping at apple moment. that shit’s too funny.)

BUT also when raven signs the real book in Way Too Wonderland and gets that dark magic power up. i’m a sucker for fight scenes and especially ones with extra narrative weight, so i always appreciated that one + the aftermath of it. and when apple declares raven as a hero. it’s great.

Since I haven't really seen this ever, what about Knuckles finally allowing himself to feel and to cry over something. He tries to hide it, thinking the rest of them will be ashamed of him or look down on him......but instead, the rest of the Wachowskis work together to just be there for him and show him they're not ashamed of him or disappointed in him, and it's okay to feel and to cry, they love him and they always will, and nothing will change that. Ever.

Grief Sucks

It never mattered how many years have passed, or if Knuckles has a new family who loves and takes care of him. Grief always finds a way to come swinging when you least expect it.

Knuckles loves his new family dearly, but.. he still misses his tribe. His father. He misses playing with the teenage Echidnas and training to become the strongest he can be.

If it weren’t for Maddie making it clear in the beginning that Knuckles is allowed to miss the family he had before, he would feel even more terrible longing for that life he had before. He still feels guilty. He has all he could want now, why does he feel like he needs more?

Knuckles knows it isn’t his fault, and Sonic knows it isn’t his fault what happened that fateful day where they lost everything. They’ve stopped blaming each other.

But still.. now Knuckles finds himself in his room in his basement clutching the small leafy headpiece his father had given him before leaving for war. It no longer fits him, and it hasn’t for years. Knuckles sniffles and holds it to his chest. He hates to cry. He’s supposed to be the strong warrior who never falters. An unmoving unstoppable force of extraterrestrial nature. Unfortunately his feelings are not something he can stop. Knuckles softly begins to cry. He doesn’t dare let out his inner pain and turmoil, because he doesn’t want to risk his brothers hearing him.

Turns out, it’s not his brothers he had to worry about. He hears scratching at the door on the top of the stairs. He hears the door open and Tom yelling that Ozzy is coming down. Ozzy charges down the steps to Knuckles. He jumps up onto his bed and lays down, putting his head in Knuckles’ lap. Ozzy looks at him and let’s out a sigh. Knuckles smiles a little and pets the dog “..you’d never judge me, Oz.” Knuckles and Ozzy have formed a really good bond. Ozzy suddenly lifts his head and starts giving Knuckles some puppy kisses, licking away his tears.

The sweetness of the gesture makes him cry a little more. Then he hears some shuffling beside him. He turns his head and Tails is there. “Knuckles..?” Tails has never seen his big brother cry before. Tails’ ears and tails droop. Knuckles quickly wipes away his tears “hello, Tails.” Tails hops up onto the bed next to Knuckles “are you crying?” He asks. Knuckles shakes his head and hides his face because his emotions are betraying him. Tails thinks for a moment and leaves.

Knuckles sighs. Tails is about to become a tattle tails. The entire family shows up and they’re all immediately showing concern.

Maddie sits next to Knuckles and puts her arm around him, pulling him close “what’s wrong, baby..?” Knuckles mumbles in response. Sonic now understands “…you miss them, don’t you…?” Knuckles nods slowly.

Knuckles looks at his parents “I am sorry you have to see me like this.” Tom gives him a confused look “why are you sorry? Knuckles.. it’s ok to cry. It’s always ok.”

Knuckles’ vision gets cloudy again as his eyes fill with tears “but.. but I’m supposed to be strong. I have to carry on the legacy of my tribe, and make my father proud. I know what you told me.. but it still feels wrong.”

Maddie leans her cheek on her boys head “Knuckles, it isn’t wrong. You had a family before us. They were taken away unfairly. You’re allowed to mourn them. Being strong isn’t about keeping everything in. Being strong is facing these challenges with honesty and not bottling it up. And you don’t have to be strong alone anymore.”

Knuckles takes her words in. He clings to her and let’s everything out. His family gathers around him to hug him, Ozzy included.

Everyone cries with him, even Sonic.

“Sonic, I have a question.” Knuckles gives his brother a serious look.

“What’s up?” Sonic asks.
