part 1
“Waiting for the other shoe to drop”, while pessimistic, seemed to be a running theme in Charles Rowland’s life. It wasn’t really a phrase he heard when he was alive, to be fair, but at some point he’d come across it (probably hanging out with too many Americans, but can’t remember for sure) and it felt a little too much accurate. His dad’s come home angry again? Time to wait for the fallout. He’d gotten written up at school for not paying attention? Just a disaster waiting to happen. He goes against his best mate’s advice? There he goes, literally torn from Charles’s arms and back to hell, just as he’d said. Maybe the last one was a little dramatic, but that’s the gist.
The looming anxiety of it all usually slid off of him for the minor stuff, and was otherwise bottled up and shoved far away for the heavier stuff, but regardless he didn’t let it show. Have to keep up appearances and all. He’d only had one real instance of all those emotions blowing up (and he still blames the Night Nurse for all that mess) so he thought he was doing a bang-up job keeping himself together.
That was until his dad died. Yeah, it was rough, and he ended up berating the old man on his death bed, which probably was a shitty thing to do. And yeah, he’d needed a bit of a cry afterwards. So what? Blokes cried sometimes, and he was man enough to admit to his emotions and all that. The girls had done a good job of emphasising that he (and, mostly, Edwin) needed to express their emotions more. That it was healthier to let it out than bottle it all up. Not sure if they still needed healthy habits as ghosts, but it wasn’t hurting anyone. Just a little uncomfortable.
All that to say, it felt like his friends had been treading on eggshells around him ever since his dad died. Which was infuriating, yeah, but also didn’t make sense to him. Especially after he’d already cried—did they expect him to get angry again? To blow up over a dead man? He thought he’d gotten it out of his system just fine, so getting these weird vibes was starting to stress him out more than anything. He’d resolved to bring it up on their next movie night and ask why they were acting funny—didn’t want to mess up a case, after all.
However, he didn’t get the chance before it all came crashing down on his head. Ultimately, Edwin was the messenger.
“Charles, I—“ he took an unnecessary breath, “Have you checked on your mother lately?”
His undead heart went cold, but his default smiley ways were still stuck on, “Not really, why?”
Edwin’s eyes were sad, which was never good. He didn’t emote unless it was serious, “I think you need to visit her. She’s not faring well.”
And so they went. Turns out everyone hadn’t been waiting for Charles to blow up, but rather for his mother to pass and then for him to break down all over again. Edwin had been checking on her daily since his father’s passing, deducing correctly that Charles would be too swept up in the emotions around his dad dying to remember that his mum wasn’t getting any younger.
The girls weren’t free until the evening, but they promised to stay in touch and maybe visit later if they could (particularly if they could figure out how to visit the Hospice without rousing suspicion). And so Edwin and Charles were on their own.
Charles had rushed into the room, as if running at the issue would evade the emotions of it, or as if getting there quickly would reveal it was all a lie—neither of which were true.
Instead, he was face to face with a dying woman with some resemblance to the photo on the mantle in the house he grew up in—his grandmother, or maybe his great grandmother, or some favourite aunt, he couldn’t remember anymore— hair gone fully white, pulled back into a tight bun so as to keep her curls controlled, keeping her gaunt, sleeping face exposed. Unlike that photo, this woman was in a hospital gown, tucked into sterile sheets, with a tube under her nose to help her breathe. Gone were her usually loud and ornate earrings, her bare fingernails stained from years of colour. There was a singular blanket laid across her lap, on top of the sheets, that almost looked more familiar than the woman it covered. It was her, but apparently he hadn’t stopped to just look at her any time recently, if ever. It felt too much like looking at a ghost, as ironic as that felt.
She was awake, but halfway to dozing. There was someone at her side, adjusting the blanket and murmuring reassurances in what was definitely Punjabi. It had been so long since he’d heard it, added to having never properly learned anything besides English under the threat of his father, that he couldn’t make out the words. That realisation left a stinging feeling in his chest.
“A relation of yours?” Edwin asked at a whisper, coming up to stand beside Charles, almost entirely copying his position from that fateful hospital room. It didn’t seem as if either of the room’s living occupants had noticed them.
Charles blindly reached for Edwin’s hand for comfort, not looking away from the scene in front of him and matching his partner’s volume, “No idea. Don’t think I’ve seen them before.”
Edwin hummed, “Perhaps a little too young to have met you. Or someone your mother reconnected with recently—“
“I’m not really in the mood for deductions, love.” Charles said, not unkindly. Everything felt too fragile to be picked apart like that.
“Right. Apologies.” Edwin squeezed his hand and went quiet.
Charles squeezed his hand back in forgiveness, joining in the silence. He kept going back to what the stranger was saying, familiar consonants both soothing and devastating. What kind of a son was he, failing to comfort his dying mother, unable to speak her mother tongue, a stranger to his relatives? His tears were thankfully silent.
It took much longer for his mother to see them than his father. Several days passed, with the mystery relative coming and going more days than not, and the usual nurses and caregivers administering various care. Over time, the boys (the girls couldn’t figure out how to enter the space, but were supportive from their distance) had learned that the stranger’s name was Sangeeta, and she was a niece of his mother’s who’d noticed her steady decline and was the one to take her to hospital and then to hospice care. Charles’s mother had apparently stopped taking care of herself after her husband’s death, and she had refused other care, so at this point all they could do was make her comfortable. Charles spent a whole morning ranting to Edwin about it, how unfair it was that her life was so tied up in his asshole father’s that she wasn’t even trying to live after he was gone. Edwin, the deeply kind person he was, had let Charles rant until he ran out of steam, then gently pointed out that she’d been under the thumb of his father for far longer than Charles was, and that she’d now had to mourn her husband and her only child, which presumably takes a toll. Charles had started crying before Edwin had even finished talking, and Edwin had held him close on the plush sofa for the rest of the day.
It was hard to tell if it was a comfort or not when she finally saw them, but Charles decided that wasn’t important to think about right now, if ever. Right now, his mother could see him for the first time in forty years, and they didn’t know for how much longer. And yet, with all this time to prepare, he still found himself speechless when the time finally came.
“Mere laal,” She beat him to the punch, eyes glazed over but clearly locked on Charles, “I am glad to see you again, beta. It’s been so long.”
Charles let out a shakey breath, “Hi, mum. It’s—well— it’s been longer for you. I’ve visited a few times, over the years.”
She reached out a sinewy hand on a bone-thin arm, and Charles flew to the seat by her side, keeping his focus to make sure his hand stayed solid in her grasp. He vaguely noticed Edwin taking the seat beside him.
“Such a handsome boy. You were so young.” Tears welled up in her eyes.
Charles, all anxious energy and nerves, tears of his own threatening to spill, was quick to respond, “It’s alright, mum, I’m alright. No need to cry over me.”
She huffed, “Nonsense. You were the light of my life. Who else should I cry over?”
They were both crying at this point, tears streaming as they sniffled in turns. Edwin laid a careful hand on Charles’s back in a show of comfort.
However, that seemed to give Charles an idea, “No, really mum, it’s okay! See the bloke next to me? His name’s Edwin, and he’s been by my side all these years! He’s the one who first found me, and we’ve been helping people ever since. It’s been aces. Not sad one bit.”
Edwin stiffened at the mention, then all but froze when her eyes turned to him. He knew he looked night and day from Charles, and if he started talking she was bound to find him as abrasive as everyone always did, so why had Charles pointed him out!? If ghosts could sweat, Edwin would be drowning in his nerves.
Her gaze stayed on him for a long moment before she broke the silence, “He’s been good to you? Not like those other boys.”
Edwin wasn’t sure what to do with that, but thankfully Charles was quick on the uptake, “Not like them at all. He’s— he’s the best, mum. None of those tossers could even compare.”
“Because the boys— the ones who—“
Charles gripped her hand, “I know, I know. He’s a genuinely good person, Edwin. I was bad at picking friends in life, but thankfully I chose well with this one.”
His attempt at joking was overlooked completely by her, “Those boys, how could they do that? I knew their families, John Parish’s mother went to your funeral… Such cruel boys…”
“I’m alright, mum, I’m okay.” Charles kept going, smiling even as the tears continued, “It’s all in the past.”
“I should’ve fought harder for you… kept you close… mere laal, taken from me…” She was sobbing, her whole frame shaking with hiccoughs.
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Charles took a steadying breath, “You know I couldn’t have stayed in that house, mum. And no one could’ve known those lads would go that far…”
Her sobs were worse for a moment, then stilled suddenly as she fought for oxygen. She coughed weakly.
At that, Charles’s crying intensified, despite all he did to keep himself together. He could tell. He knew what was coming. It was still devastating to see. Edwin pulled him in for a proper side hug, taking care not to jostle his grip on his mum.
This did not go unnoticed, and the dying woman suddenly smiled, as if the devastation was forgotten with the oxygen. She looked back to her son, “I am glad you have been happy, beta. You deserved happiness.”
“I’m happy, I’ve been so happy mum, I promise,” Charles tried to calm himself down, stuck in his reassuring her.
“Mere laal, light of my life, darling boy,” She breathed with difficulty, smile dropping, “Can you forgive me? I failed you…”
Charles’s frame shook with his vigorous nodding, “I forgive you, mum, you did the best you could, I love you so much—“
Her weak smile returned, glinting in the lamplight of the evening room, “Thank you, beta. You were too good for me, for this world…”
“All because of you, I swear it, all thanks to you—“
“Charles.”
“I love you, I’m sorry I wasn’t a better son, I’m could’ve been better, gotten you out of that house—“
“Charles, darling.”
“You deserved better, I love you, I forgive you—“
“My love, the light—“
Edwin was right, a deep blue light had filled the space, illuminating the still body of his mother. Her face was pulled into a slight smile, eyes closed, as if she was having a pleasant dream, even as the tear tracks dried on her cheeks.
“No, no I’m not ready—“ Charles immediately started to protest, gripping onto her hand like a lifeline.
“Charles—“
“I only just got to see her! She only just got free of him! No, no, I won’t—“
Edwin gently but solidly grabbed under Charles’s arms, “I’m sorry my love but we should go—“
Charles was nothing but hysterics by this point, head thudding onto the sheets for a moment before Edwin fully pulled him away. He said more, but Charles was too overwhelmed to process it properly, buzzing in his ears and headache behind his eyes making him feel alive in all the worst ways. Maybe it was just the first time he had cried this hard in his afterlife, or maybe being this close to an active death did something to their physiology—
Everything was a blur as they returned to the flat, Edwin all but carrying him through the mirror so that he wouldn’t get lost on the way. They collapsed onto the sofa, extra large cushions taken up by their ghostly presences. The girls were already there, and joined into the cuddle pile without another word (or perhaps with a few, Charles still wasn’t all there yet). Edwin jostled them all slightly to better position everyone before settling in again, making sure Charles was properly surrounded.
Charles sobbed for a while longer. He wasn’t quite sure for how long, or what day it was, or if he was bothering his friends by taking up their time and space like this. His devastation had seemed to take over his entire being. But, when he did breathe a little easier, when he was finally able to sit up, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief. His mom was dead, yes, but so was he, and dying had granted them both freedom from that man, from that house, from the cruelties of the world. And in his death he was surrounded by people who loved him, people who were there for him when he needed them and would still be there for him tomorrow, and the next, and the next. The other shoe had dropped, and it certainly hurt, but thankfully he had people around him to help him through it. He was truly lucky to have them.
~
hope you enjoyed this impromptu series exploring Charles and his parents and grief and loss and all those lovely things. this was inspired by the complicated emotions I have / had after my grandparents passing, and I heavily encourage you to do something similar if you’re ever struggling with these big emotions—therapists and such will say that journaling is where it’s at, but sometimes it’s easier to project onto fictional characters and that’s ok !!! and, just to drive the point home, I want to reiterate that you are loved, and there are people around you who are there to support you, I promise ❤️
also, just to make it abundantly clear, I’m a v white midwestern american and as such have vvv limited knowledge of cultural aspects of Charles’s mom—I did research and tried my best, but if I screwed anything up PLEASE let me know so I can fix it!!!!! same goes for Britishisms ig but mostly looking for feedback on her Punjabi and her various cultural elements :)

TUA SEASON 4 REWRITE
because if you want something done right... *rolls eyes*
In the original single timeline, we got a wonderful season 4 of The Umbrella Academy. I'm here to remind you of your latent memories of the original season 4. Together we can restore it to its former glory. Like a club. We need a name. Call ourselves the Keepers or something similar.
Here's what I know:
Luther is putting work into his (admittedly rundown and condemned) house. It's growing more welcoming with every antique sconce and threadbare thrifted rug. Klaus lives with him, advising him on the finer points of exotic dancing. We see the family visiting. Claire knows where the snacks are. Luther picks up and tosses Lila's kids in the air, trying and failing to learn words in Punjabi. He struggles to move in new furniture, longing for his old strength back, his familiar hairy body.
Viktor owns a bar in Canada. He's proud of it, but despite bantering with the regulars, he isn't close to anyone. He still wants to shout at Reginald (for everything) and at Allison (for everything else). Sometimes the patrons get too loud, and Viktor focuses on the sound of the radio playing in the background, wanting to shout at the loud talkers and knock them off their stools with the sound of his voice. He misses Harlan. He wonders about autism, and why he understood the boy so well.
Diego practices throwing knives in the back yard after the kids have gone to bed. Fed up with being a delivery driver, he briefly considers opening a party planning business, but Lila laughs her head off at the idea, saying he'd explode if she even bought a pinata from the wrong side of town or something. He runs alone at night, slows, stops, bangs his head against a telephone pole in frustration.
Lila spars with Diego in the basement, kendo one night, aikido the next...It vents their anger and relieves their boredom. She has an idea of opening a martial arts studio. When she pins Diego down, they're both visibly into it. She goes away to a book club that might not be a book club, wishing for a bigger world.
The kids aren't just pawns for the plot or for conflict. They're people who ask inconvenient questions. "Where did Mummy learn to fight?" They make up bedtime stories about their parents' pasts. Superhero stories which are eerily close to the truth.
Klaus lives with Luther, sober, germaphobic, plagued by nightmares, afraid of death and love and life because he's seen so very much of all of them. He cooks for Luther, which sometimes turns out well and sometimes not. "Well, it's not the same when you make it without hashish..." When the marigold crashes back into his life, he's angry, and yet he's elated to feel the power back in him, he knows he can't go back to being half dead and unfeeling, he needs to wear something silk and put on some eyeliner and be wild again, as he always really was.
Allison tries out for every commercial in town and spars with her daughter, who's turning out to be a stubborn opposing mirror of her mother. Claire spits uncomfortable truths at her mother like her too-strong influence on others, her lecturing them instead of listening to them, kicking at their weak points. She wonders who she is when she's not acting or rumoring people. Maybe one of these days she'll ask someone for help.
Number Five has been trying to remember his name. He's been working for the CIA because a man's gotta eat, but he clashes with his boss a little too much on account of his smart mouth. He can't help acting like a young man sometimes, because he never really got to be young, feel young, act young. He can't help trying to jump away sometimes. He feels trapped in one place, one time.
Ben just got out of prison. The season starts with him being taken back to Luther's place, being welcomed in by Klaus and offered some cookies that smell suspiciously of weed. He's annoyed by the running laughing visiting kids, but the house reminds him strangely of home. He'll curse Luther out, but Klaus gave him weed cookies, and the kids don't deserve to be scared or upset, do they? He's not a monster, after all.

desi/punjabi!reader x dallas winston hc's
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N : yes, yes, and yes.
~
firstly, dallas winston is not racist. some of yall are insane with your headcanons
dallas winston could truthfully care less about any background his partner is
now that ive established this, let me continue
~
he finds it so incredibly hot whenever you say something, ANYTHING in a different language.
you could call him a 'bandar' (monkey) and he would still find it hot
"what does that mean, huh? you callin' me handsome?"
not much to do except roll your eyes in dismay as well as secretly find it cute
one time, he saw you wearing a suit/lengha/sari (whatever you like)
he almost went insane
like gen jaw dropped and everything
"when'd you start wearing stuff like that?"
"y'should wear it more often, doll."
as far as nakhre goes, he finds it attractive, and he learns over time how to shut it down
he doesnt understand how to shut it down if your really cussing him out in punjabi
“bhonkana band karja.”
“love you too.”
i have a whole other hc that johnny is punjabi (or desi in general)
so, it is a common occurence to see dallas asking johnny what random stuff means
johnny cant translate half the time bcs dallas cant pronounce half of it correct
whenever you do say something nice, it flies over his head
the only thing he understands is nice is ‘meri jaan’ (my life / my beloved)
he likes that one
one time, he came over to your house during winter, probably to hang out cuddle but dallas winston doesnt ‘cuddle’, and your bed had one of those thick floral kambals
Tumblr media
(one of these bad boys right here)
he swears hes never slept better in his whole life
he probably stole one of those blankets from your mother
speaking of parents
if your parents are immigrants, hes borderline scared of them (even if he’d never admit it)
hes realistically horrified of your dad, even if your parents allow you to date
hes probably cool with your mom, however
your mom would probably sit there and hand feed him roti and refer to him as ‘beta’ / ‘puthar’
punjabi/desi moms are soo sarcastic its not even funny
dallas winston has the exact same humor as your mom its insane
hes definitely attended at least one family function
got forced to try and dance at some point before he totally swore off dancing
he really likes gol gappe but hes really bad at eating it in one bite
got forced to sit at the kids table
got drunk with all the chachas and mamas (lets be fr)
overall your family likes him
thinks its absolutely stupid how you only wear gold jewelry
although, you make an exception for the st. christopher necklace, to which he is grateful for
if you have a hard to pronounce name, he’d spend too much time trying to say it right
realistically he finds food wayy too spicy, but he’ll tolerate some things
he wouldnt like chai
which you find insane
overall you two are so cute and happy together 10/10 couple right here

Outkast’s Big Boi, EDM artist Zedd, U.K. band Nothing But Thieves, Norwegian artist Aurora, rapper Hanumankind, guitarist-composer Cory Wong will perform in Mumbai on March 8 and 9, 2025
Anurag Tagat Sep 10, 2024
American punk-rock heroes Green Day, pop artist Shawn Mendes, U.K. hitmakers Glass Animals and singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson are among top-billed acts making their India debut at Lollapalooza India 2025 in Mumbai, between March 8 and 9.
The lineup for the third edition of Lollapalooza India also includes rap veteran Big Boi from Outkast, U.K. band Nothing But Thieves, Norwegian pop artist Aurora, electronic artists like Zedd, John Summit and Alok, American guitarist-composer Cory Wong (known for his work with acts like Vulfpeck), breakout rapper Hanumankind (also our latest cover star), South Korean indie rock band Wave To Earth and rising pop artists Isabel LaRosa and more. Folk-indie singer-songwriter duo Lullanas – comprising Indian-origin siblings – will also make their India debut at Lollapalooza India 2025.
More Indian artists adding heft to the lineup include singer-songwriter Dot., rappers Raftaar and KR$NA, Punjabi artist Talwiinder, sitarist and fusion artist Niladri Kumar, pop artist Lisa Mishra, rock artist Raman Negi, Ahmedabad rap favorite Dhanji, producer Spryk, pianist-composer Sahil Vasudeva, DJ-producer Anushka, multi-instrumentalist-producer Sid Vashi, singer-songwriter Raghav Meattle and indie multi-instrumentalist/producer Sudan.
The announcement in September makes for meme-friendly news for Green Day, known for songs like “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” The band announced their India debut on Instagram and said, “Another first for us!! India, you’ve been calling our name… and it’s finally time to answer. We’ll see you in Mumbai next March for @LollaIndia.” The trio comprising Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool released their most recent album Saviors in 2024 and will likely dig into all-time hits like “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life),” “American Idiot,” “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and more. Shawn Mendes, known for hits “In My Blood,” “Treat You Better” and new single “Why Why Why,” returns to the live stage after more than two years on his current tour, which includes Lollapalooza India.
Louis Tomlinson, who has a big following in India following his time with pop group One Direction, will also make a long-awaited India debut. Fellow Brits Glass Animals are a big draw on the back of releasing their new album I Love You So F***ing Much in July, but primarily due to their 2020 hit “Heat Waves,” which was the seventh-most streamed song in India on Spotify in 2022.
Glass Animals founder Dave Bayley – who visited India as a 16-year-old – told Rolling Stone India in 2020, “Thank you for the support, I hope you are staying safe and healthy. We can’t wait to come and visit.”
In a wholly new strategy, Lollapalooza India’s 2025 lineup is out six months in advance of the multi-genre festival taking place in March. BookMyShow Live also took a similar approach while announcing the lineup for their festival Bandland, which is taking place on Nov. 23 and 24 in Bengaluru.

HIIIII! Hope you are doing well! I saw art of your characters, and I want to hear about them! I am specifically talking about the autistic vampire, because I saw that in the reference art and got so excited!!! You don’t have to reply, but as an autistic vampire enthusiast and lover of monsters in general, I would LOVE to hear more!
Sincerely, your local lurker
I AM SO SORRY im answering this like, um (checks calendar)… almost 7 months later… but hey!!! I am SO TOUCHED you wanna hear about my ocs :,) i will proceed to info dump and not shut up about them! I actually have multiple autistic vampire ocs, but im gonna assume you’re talking about Bhala! (Her ref is the only one i think that actually says she’s autistic) Anyway, ramble under read more :3c
Tumblr media
I have a graphic novel im working on behind the scenes, and Bhala is one of the two main protagonists. She’s a cosmic witch that was freshly turned into a vetaala vampire. (Vetaal/Vetaala are a possessive ghost in indian folklore, they are restless spirits that can manifest as blood sucking ghosts or possess dead bodies). For the story, i made a pseudo hybrid between vetaal and regular flavor vampire. Bhala’s body is actually a shell/physical ghost form of what her body looked like (only now with fangs). Her real physical body is dead and buried. In folklore, the only way to banish/kill a vetaala creature is by taking the original body and performing a ritual to put the restless soul/spirit at ease. This is the same for my story, so vetaala vampires are almost completely un-killable. Most in the story hide their bodies in different countries to almost guarantee eternal life. They still need to feed off blood and souls to keep up their vitality, otherwise they become ravenous and beastly.
Bhala literally doesn’t care about any of that, she didn’t want to be this way. She tries her best to not feed off people, but she has to. She gets used to it further and further into the story, and a lot of that is thanks to her gf that she meets in the beginning of the story; Fiona (thats another ramble if anyone cares /j)
Anyway a lil more about Bhala- She’s a ray of sunshine and very sweet and compassionate, with a lil layer of sass and cleverness. She loves to tease Fiona (affectionately) and isn’t afraid to speak her mind (and throw hands if necessary). Her hyper fixation is woodland animals, specifically skunks. She owns a skunk plush that her mother made for her when she was a toddler. It is her snuggle buddy when she’s not snuggling Fiona. She even learned how to sew specifically to keep her plush, named Flower, together. If you ask her what her favorite animal is, she will talk about skunks for hours (Fiona will do this sometimes just to hear her talk)
Bhala loves jewelry and always has it on (she doesn’t really feel pain, so why not?). She also grew up playing the cello and acoustic bass. Normally, she resents most activities she had to take a part of growing up with her father, but she genuinely loves music. It helps her calm down and focus.
She fidgets A LOT, mostly with her claws, but sometimes with her jewelry and even her magical cosmic hair (which leads into a baby astral plane… which she uses as storage instead of a backpack). She does have real hair, it’s just hidden underneath the cosmic magic (she has long thick black box-braids :3)
Her powers at the start of the story aren’t that great, her father was keeping her from learning real cosmic magic. After leaving and moving in with Fiona, they find Bhala’s mother, who properly trains her in magic. By the end of the story, she’s not a master, but she’s still extremely powerful (cosmic magic is some powerful shit in this story)
She is unapologetically black/punjabi/kashmiri and a powerful trans woman, and oh boy she is a BIG lesbian. she likes them short
I think thats it for the ramble, feel free to ask me anything else! I am more than happy to info dump about my ocs :3 !!!!

Manish Goel... Not just an actor!!

A young boy who was always bullied by his peers for his looks and dark complexion back in school had his eyes filled with dream of becoming, not just an actor, but, HERO. All these odds never discouraged him to follow his dream so after completing his schooling, he straightaway landed in Mumbai to chase the passion he always had. Having started as a Spot Boy on the sets of hugely popular comedy serial of 90s, Dekh Bhai Dekh, he accepted whatever came his way, which included doing crowd scenes with no  dialogues and then getting few dialogues but with limited money and no contacts at all, it was only his passion that was keeping him motivated to achieve more in life.
He kept on doing serials like Just Mohabbat, HipHip Hurrey, CID and few more with a thought that a day will come when people who are just passing by without noticing him, will stop and recognize him and this happened when he was signed by Ekta Kapoor for the serial Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and since then there has been no looking for this hard working, multi talented actor, Manish Goel, who even after being in this industry for over 28 years has his feet firmly grounded. THOSE TWT LINKS AREN'T OPENING 😭😭😭
You mean ghatak or whtv the name of the movie was but the first part was superior alr idek why they decided to make a second part. Bruh it was painful to watch i just hope this one is much much muchhh better.
Nahh ur right, i was at first shocked when I saw Vicky x Sara but ..ig she fit the role. I hope her acting has improved. And as of Varun, he is a good actor but sometimes ykkkk...things just don't work. His recent movie bedhiya...i never watched it. I want to but I'm afraid I'll get disappointed 😭
Yess, during soty, i immediately became a sid girl BCZ HE WAS TALL, HE WAS BETTER, HE WAS THAT GUY!! and yet PPL fell for Varun *smh* but I'm glad everyone is realising what they hv to.
What is tht movie poster? Never heard of it but I'm pretty sure it'll be better thn adipurash BCZ WHAT EVEN IS THT MOVIE??? they literally took 6 months off to 'improve' and 'correct' their mistakes WHAT DID THEY DOO?? They made it worse 😭😭. And plus if they don't know how to use VFX in an appropriate amount why do they even bother??? And saif Ali Khan as the Ravan 😭😭 look i hv no complaints abt the actor and actresses chosen BUT THEY RUINED RAMAYANA! growing up, I've watched many animated spiritual movies based on ramayan or any other lore like lord Krishna, Mahabharata but adipurash......uh-uh. first they said it was based on ramayana then they literally changed their words saying it has taken 'inspiration' frm ramayana.
What's disappointing it came from the same director who directed Tanhaji. Can u believe it? AND WHAT EVEN IS KRITI DOING HERE?? 😭😭😭 Did not expect this from her but ig every actor has a bad movie.
But ykw I'll still watch it..obv after it's been released just for laughing out loud don't judge me.
But i rewatched 10 things i hate abt you....and I've fallen in love again with heath ledger 😭😭 THE ACCENT, THE DEEP VOICE AUGHHH and tht damn promposal. It'd forever be on my wishlist bcz....Indian schools don't hv proms :') in short Indian schools don't hv fun things....they r uptight and all abt studying.
Yeah I've heard abt tht movie, but...we gotta wait YK, idek what to expect now!! BUT I'm not raising my standards again. Always expect the unexpected. "Rocky aur Rani ki Prem kahani" .... Kind of like "ajab Prem ki gazab kahani"
😭😭😭😭 i cn never escape tht movie. But what was ur first movie like what would u say was the first movie tht made a huge impact on u? Mine was...ajab Prem ki kahani :') i was obsessed. And three. My father bought like 2-3 dvds just so tht i could watch it on repeat. No wonder I became hopeless romantic in the future 😭 AND I used to say I'm going to marry Ranbir when I grow up LORDDDD my family members still tease me💀💀💀 imagine....a Punjabi family teasin u...it's hell.
And tht is why I like soft boys. Although my parents did tell me the first movie they took me to watch was "malamaal weekly" ..... Rlly? I was an infant!!! But I think my subconscious picked up on the genre...i like comedy ALOT!
NOOOO ill put them under the bar 😭😭
Tumblr media
and this
yeah the one! the first part was superior 90’s but the second part…he should stay away from movies and also the politics <3 the acting is overacting so i guess it fits her 😭😭😭 hoping she gets a role like geet from jab we met and hopefully she acts well for it <3
eh that recent movie of his is okay, funny at some aspects but i watched it bc it was in the stree universe but it was decent, like i get the vision, very twilight…but eh it’s alright id watch it again! arijit’s song saved imo 🤚🏻
SID WAS AND IS SUPERIOR!!!! from soty, ek villain, that one movie w pari, kapoor and sons + shershaah i like the way he chooses his projects but that omg movie w ajay devgan was not it 😭😭😭 i hope he goes into some action movies,,, like romcom actions, a mathew mcoughey style,,, like a mr and mrs smith movie w katrina or deepika (honestly want srk to do that movie remake w aishwariya so bad like imagine it being called mr and mrs khan 😭😭😭😭😭 A NEED A DESPERATE NEED !!!!)
that movie poster is the hanuman movie??? it looks nice from the poster, NO BC WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT MOVIE???? I FIRST THOUGHT ITS NOT THAT BAD BUT THEN I HEARD THE DIALOGUES ON REELS AND JUST ???? NO MF WAY THEY MADE HIM SAY TERE BAP KA???? EXCUSE ME??? THE DISRESPECT??? i got so pissed just from those lines like wtf u mean saif is ravaan??? honestly speaking saif can be the ravaan IF the vfx and his character was written nicely bc saif can deliver! “inspiration from ramanya” bro this a bhojpuri movie disguised as a bollywood one???
FROM TANHAJI???? damn,,, i didn’t like that movie 😭😭😭😭 so no wonder fbsndbskjclxhk
HEATH !!!! HEATH UR SO RIGHT HES SO 😭😭😭🤚🏻 I WISH TO SEE MORE OF HIS TALENT BUT ITS TOO LATE,,, THAT scene where he plays w the fire in the science room is forever engraved in my head,, don’t uni’s have formals?? then reels be lying to me then 🔫 damn my school didn’t have proms but they did have annual day,, considered it my prom <3
YEAH im not putting my expectations very high,,, their paring seems to lack the chemistry just from that song release for me,,, like no emotion in the eyes that says love me,, no srk eyes 😭😭 and ranveer for don?? 🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️ ngl he suits villain roles but srk??? how u gonna do don without the don????
the first movie that made an impact on me was jab we met, ive watched that movie over 50 times now, it started my hopeless romanticness,,, something about the simplicity of meeting on a train, two complete opposite people finding themselves entangled w each others life??? yEAAAAAAH
LMFAOOOO SO EVERYONE HAD THE RANBIR PHASE SEE HE IS CHARMING AS FUCK BUT HES A PLAYBOY AND IM NEVER RHWNDBAK him w anushka >> LMFAOO IF UR FUTURE SPOUSE ISNT A RANBIR LOOKALIKE WE DONT WANT IT
omg??? that movie i totally forgot about,, coincidentally my first movie was ranbir’s debut film 😭😭😭 slept thru the entirety <: but ur so right, comedy is >>>>> but also those movies like znmd with that poetry 😩😩

Ritual That Followed In Punjabi Wedding - Eazyvenue
Punjabi wedding means lots of fun. There is a lot of fun in this marriage and people make lovely memories while enjoying each and every moment among their loved ones. In the midst of all this, the bride and groom become a part of several rituals, which help them and their families gradually come closer and understand. These rituals are like a ladder, walking on which the couple reaches the wedding and becomes each other forever. This is the reason why every ritual has special importance.
Tumblr media
Roka is the ritual that takes place before the engagement. As the name suggests, this ritual means that now the bride and groom's relationship is fixed with each other and they will no longer look to anyone else for their relationship. In this, both the families give and take gifts among themselves and celebrate the firmness of the relationship. Usually there is no ring exchange in this, but nowadays many couples also get engaged in Roka itself. After the roka is done, both the families fix the date of the engagement and then the couple exchange rings.
Kirtan and Dholki
Puja and kirtan are held at the house of both the bride and the groom, in which especially the women of the family take part. This program, kept for the auspicious beginning of the relationship, goes on throughout the day and sometimes ends late at night. After this comes the turn of Dholki i.e. music ceremony. In this, the family dances and sings to the beat of the drum. However, nowadays its form has changed. In modern weddings, DJs are arranged and members of both the families are seen giving different choreographed performances.
Mehendi Ceremony and Jaggo
This is a very important ritual. The hands of the bride to be in this are decorated with henna, for which a woman from the family or an artist from outside is called. The hands as well as the feet of the bride-to-be are decorated with beautiful bridal mehndi designs and are expected to create a deep hue. Mehendi is also applied on the hands of the groom. On the other hand, during the Jaggo ritual, the bride and groom stay awake all night and celebrate with everyone. During this, lamps are lit, which the bride's maternal aunt carries on her head.
Turmeric and Chuda
Turmeric is applied to make the hands of the bride and groom yellow. In this, along with his family members, close friends also participate. The girl is offered bangles on behalf of her maternal uncle. Everyone touches it and gives their blessings. The eyes of the bride are kept closed while wearing it. Later the bangle is covered with a cloth.
offering sehra and mare
When the boy gets ready in the dress of the groom, his sister wears him Sehra. After this a small puja is performed. Sister also applies Surma to her brother so that he does not get evil eye from anyone. Family and friends together offer him a mare. He is accompanied by a younger child, who is usually a nephew or a younger brother. He stays with the groom throughout the procession. (Photo Credit: istock by getty images)
meeting and marriage
On the arrival of the groom, the girls welcome him. Both the families hug each other. The bride gets ready and reaches the stage and the couple garlands each other. This is followed by a ritualistic phera and the girl's parents perform her Kanyadaan, followed by an emotional farewell.

Thanks for tagging me @ace-aussie-asshole 🫶
Are you named after anyone?
No, which is really sad, but my name translates from Punjabi to English as ‘words’ or ‘prayers’ or ‘the Lord’s words’. I’m not really religious but I love names with meaning :)
When was the last time you cried?
Yesterday after my father came home from being away for 10 weeks. He was looking after my grandparents and due to time differences, lots of emotions, and my own grudge complex, I didn’t speak to him much. I kind of just held it in for 10 weeks but I just burst out into tears when I walked through the door after school and saw him.
Do you have any kids?
No, and I don’t think I intend to either. I’m not particularly maternal or compassionate (which makes me sound horrible), but more overbearing.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
No. (See what I did there?). But honestly, there are times when I don’t even know if I’m being sarcastic or not. Sarcasm and snark are my default at this point.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
That’s a tough one because I’m a very perceptive person, I see a lot of stuff that most people don’t pay attention to. Probably someone’s eyes or posture though, they say a lot about a person’s attitudes and emotions.
What’s your eye colour?
Dark brown. Like, very very dark brown. To the point where they look black.
Scary movies or happy endings?
Both really. Sometimes I really am just in the mood for a movie with a happy ending. I’m more into suspense inducing movies more than horror or scary, i like the terror and the heightened senses and the anticlimax/climax of it all.
Any special talents?
I’m a pretty good actress if that counts??? I can also shoot guns which is fun :)
Where were you born?
The UK. Wales, specifically.
What are your hobbies?
Reading. Lots and lots of reading. I love listening to classical music too, poetry (writing and reading).
Do you have any pets?
Unless my younger sister counts, then no. But I really wish I had snakes! I think they’re so cute!!!
What sports do you play/have you played?
I have played hockey, lacrosse, cricket, rounders and netball. Now I don’t really play sports. I’m getting back into netball slowly but school has been really tough recently and I haven’t had much spare time.
How tall are you?
5’3’’ and unlike most girls, I love being shorter for some reason (not because boys find it cute before some of you come at me).
Favourite subject at school?
English Literature by far! We are currently studying Gothic texts and tracing them through time, analysing how they’ve changed with society, how they remain the same to the first gothic text (The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole), typical gothic themes, etc. I also really love Religion Ethics and Philosophy because I LOVE a good argument.
Dream job?
A tax solicitor or corporate solicitor.
I have no clue who to tag. If you see this, just give it a go I guess :)
