I want to travel again. The wanderlust that often seized me while I was a stupid, shitty little teenager and a slightly less shitty but equally stupid young adult has been going off pretty hard within me. ---- And yet, I'm not sure how to go about slaking my thirst for wandering and junk. For one: I've been married for almost 5 years now. Happily so, too! I love my wife so much and I love my dogs and my daughter and her wife who also calls me dad because life has been awesome even when life sometimes puts you to the test like it did for us the 2nd half of 2024. Life is good. ---- And yet the hunger (or thirst, w/e) to wade into places I haven't gone to, to get lost and shoot the shit with strangers wells in me. Is this something that happens to all the gringo and german tourists that don hawaiian shirts and khaki shorts when they visit Mexico? Is this me just getting old and having my mid-life crisis? Who knows. ---- But the itch is there. You can't see it, but fuck it man, sometimes you oughta scratch it. I should make preparations, since both my jobs are 100% work from home. Maybe I can get my old follks to watch for my doggos and just travel again. I guess I'm not a complete misanthrope just yet: Who woulda thunk it?
