Ballot Curing for Signature Issues
Some US states are reporting large numbers of ballots with signature issues. There is a process for dealing with this called ballot curing. Election workers are trying to get in touch with voters with such issues, but I’m hearing many are not answering their phones. Please make sure your ballot was counted!
Nevada is one state I’ve heard of with this issue. Washington state may be another.
Check your ballot status and answer your phone please!

*doom music starts to play* I actually kindof like scheduling these kinds of appointments now...
but seriously Fellas, don't forget to schedule a pap smear every couple of years just in case. If you still have a cervix you can still get cervical cancer. ilu

Since the whole thing with NaNoWriMo has gone down, I've noticed that one of their former sponsors, Ellipsus, has cut contact with NaNoWriMo because they do not support their stance on AI; I didn't know what Ellipsus was, but upon further research I've found that they are a writing platform that works a lot like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, only with a heavier leaning on the story-writing aspect and connecting with other writers - and they also completely denounce any use of AI, both in the writing process itself and in the use of their platform. I really appreciate that.
Since this is the case (and since I've noticed Google has begun implementing more AI into their software), I've decided to give Ellipsus a try to see if it's a good alternative to Google Docs (my main writing platform). It's completely free and so far, I've found it simple to use (although it is pretty minimal in its features), and I really like the look of it.
I figured I'd spread the word about this platform in case any of you writers would want to give it a try, and if you do, let me know how you like it!

btw the majority of your life will be lived as a adult. yeah i don't make the rules. go have fun in your 40s or 70s or whatever. no one expects you to accomplish everything at 17 or 27. you've got time and in the meantime get some life experience, it will pay off

There is no perfect, just better or worse.
You have to vote to keep the better in and to keep your basic human rights .
You have to vote to maintain the basic access to things you have right now, and to restore what was taken from you.
Your vote makes every difference
To all Americans out there:

Just to make a point, every time I finished a panel of this I would export it as a PNG on the perceptual setting and use it as a color reference for the next panel
IT'S BAD
PLEASE CHECK YOUR COLOR SETTINGS
EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why

Since the r-slur is making a comeback (you know, the word that starts with R, has six letters, and ends in D), I'm gonna make a little PSA:
Yes, it's an ableist slur.
Terms like "asshat," "head-up-ass," "up their own ass," and "high on their own farts" exist. There's also words like crap, dogshit, half-assed, assclown, and chucklefuck. And on the less vulgar side, there are terms like ridiculous, nonsense, train wreck, pointless, insipid, self-absorbed, pretentious, annoying, boring, contemptible, vile, and disgusting.
Substituting words like restarted, poptarted, brain damaged, smoothbrain, etc. is still ableist, because either 1. you obviously still mean the r-word, or 2. you're still using disability as an insult.

there will be times you look back on old writings and say "I wrote this?!?!?!?!????" a lot of the time it will be negative, but that just means you've improved, because now you know it's not great.
but there will probably be, once in a while, an instance where you are awestruck by your past self. you thought you couldn't write that good here and now, but you've already done it
its ok to suck
my grammar and spelling are pitiful at best
but i write anyway, even just to get the ideas down, to practice, whatever reason i can find.
and you do get betting with practice!
practicing is probably the best way to improve your writing. the next best thing would be to read more, and read quality writing.
Keep writing! even if it sucks, even if only you will ever read it, even if it will never see the light of day again, even if you'll delete it right away. just do it, for the experience (points). the only way to improve is to learn and more importantly, to try.
you can learn just as much from mistakes as successes, and some would argue you learn more from failures.
so write! you don't have to be proud of it, but make it!
''what if my writing isn't good eno--'' what if it's a reflection of your soul. what if it has a place in this world. what if you write it anyway

Ao3 hate bot is going around leaving nasty messages. If you get a comment like this mark it as spam. According to comments it seems to be going to most recent not fandom specific.

guys remember to write the ticket under "election security" as the topic.
wanted to self rb to also add my own version of the paragraph at your disposal:
I urge you to recount the election and investigate the election interference. 32 bomb threats have been called into multiple polling locations, rendering polls closed for at least an hour (All have occurred in swing states (PA, Nevada, Georgia etc.).
Domestic terrorists have burned ballot boxes. Ballots are being discarded, and many people have been reporting their ballots as uncounted for reasons that aren't plausible. An investigation for tampering and recounting for this election is urgently needed.
20 million votes have been uncounted

If you need further help in a quick format, here is one, but i urge you to also add in the details for requiring an investigation, not just recount.
I know its a shitty situation and were tired but we still have to try to fight for a life that's worth living.
If you can blaze this post, GO FOR IT!!!

Critical PSA for anyone with Android devices!
I got the following email this morning:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically Google is rolling out the ability to track you via your android devices even when you're offline and you have to manually opt out of it. Many android devices no longer come with a wired headphone jack, so if you have Bluetooth headphones or a keyboard or anything, your location will be tracked and stored by your device unless you opt out of this.
I tried using the link they gave me in the email to opt out of it, but it didn't really seem to do anything. So I looked up how to opt out and found the following steps, which worked for my phone:
Opting out from the Find My Device network is as simple as tapping a toggle in your phone's settings. 1. On your Android device, go to Settings. 2. Tap the Google setting. 3. Tap the Find My Device setting. 4. Tap the toggle to off next to "Use Find My Device." 5. Confirm with pin, pattern, or biometrics. That's it. Your device is no longer participating in the Find My Device network. To rejoin, just flip the toggle back on.
Please reblog to spread awareness. My husband has the same phone as me and he didn't get any emails about this.

This is a friendly reminder to never, ever publish your book with a publishing company that charges you to publish with them. That is a vanity press, which makes money by preying on authors. They charge you for editing, formatting, cover art, and more. With most of these companies, you will never seen a cent of any royalties made from sale of your book. A legitimate publishing company only makes money when you make money, they will never charge you to publish with them. If a company approaches you and says "Hey, we'll publish your book, just pay us X amount of money," tell them to go fuck themself and block them.

Hey, friends, there's a BIG recall going on in the US of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products that are potentially contaimated with Listeria. The products in question were sold to restaurants and other commercial institutions, but a lot of them were used in products like ready-to-eat salads or freezer meals — HEB, Trader Joes, and Fresh Express are just some of the companies that have been identified so far.
FSIS, the branch of the USDA that regulates these items, has a list of products that would have been sold in groceries and convenience stores, though I recommend checking back since it looks like the list is a work in progress. https://www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls-alerts/brucepac-recalls-ready-eat-meat-and-poultry-products-due-possible-listeria.
Look for "51025" or "P-51025" on the USDA inspection stamp that should be on the packaging.
