Wilbur returning as a writer is good (and why it will be an uphill battle)

I am back I guess. I disappeared for a while, which I tend to do. Anyways, my point today is explaining why Wilbur returning as the writer of the SMP is the best possible thing for the server. I’ve seen a lot of hate towards Wilbur and his writing, people say it was too focused on his own character and leaving everyone else out except for Tommy, to which I say.... Have you seen Season 2? They could have renamed the SMP the “Tommy, Techno, and no one else SMP”

Before showing proof to how Wilbur can improve the storyline let me talk about the Final Disk War Arc for a bit:

- It was very good!.... Until you start thinking about it for a little bit. When everyone showed up to say goodbye to Tommy and Tubbo and the Endgame moment were good, but then you remember half of those character either hate Tommy, barely interacted with him or have nothing to do with the plot of Season 2 (Because everyone who was not called Tommy, Techno and Dream were left out). So yeah, those moments are good on their own

- When Tommy starts listing all the horrible things Dream has done to everyone in the server and can’t think of any besides a joke about Quackity not wearing clothes... Even they know no one had any stake in the plot jesus

-Dream ending up in the prison was the perfect ending. Anyone else ending in that prison would not have made sense from a story perspective. Glad they dodged that narrative bullet.

Really, the Final Disk War made me realise the biggest problem with season 2. The exile arc is very good... on its own. Doomsday was very g- hahahahaah... I’m kidding Doomsday is the only bad bad event on the SMP. And the Final Disk War is also very good. But when you put it all together.... it just doesn’t fit. This is a classic example of something being worse than the sum of its parts (Not sure if I am using that phrase correctly but you get the point... hopefully). Each arc on its own is fairly competent but how did Techno’s execution affect the rest of the arcs? How was the Final Disk War affected by prior arcs? It lacks cohesiveness and consistent themes.

Now I have two more things to say before I give Wilbur his credit:

- I’ve mentioned Eret, Fundy and Nicki a lot because I think they were great characters with a lot of potential. But, as we know, the story completely ignored them in favor of Dream, Techno and Tommy (Even Tubbo was sidelined for most of the Story). I am not insinuating anything, but something about one of the few LGBT CC of the server, one of the two women of the server and the only (I think) canonically trans characters being left out of the story they have been a part of since the beginning just... doesn’t feel right to me.

- I LOVE Ranboo. You can see the passion and dedication he puts in his story and I love it. But, has he really done anything? Like... that affects the plot. He grieffed George’s house with Tommy but you can cut him out of it and nothing changes? Same with blowing up the community house, you can just say it was Dream and cut Ranboo’s character all together. If you can remove a character and the plot does not change then that is a bad character. And this is not Ranboo’s fault, you can tell how passionate he is and he is definitely the best actor of the SMP (Low bar there but whatever), but the Storyline says: No, your character cannot actually do anything. This also fits together with the Eret, Fundy and Nicki situation: A character giving his opinion and feeling over an event is not a character being involved in the plot. That is a reactionary character that never affects anything but is delegated to just reacting to the plot other characters move. Sad.

Now. How can Wilbur fix all of this? The evidence can be seen on his failed resurrection. He went directly to Eret to ask for help. That is the key to everything.

Tommy is the main character. There is no changing that this far into the story. But by writing stories that involve other characters you include them. Big shocker there, I know. Season 2 was more character centric (Although not in a good way), the problem is that character centric stories cannot handle that many characters. Wilbur has said that he prefers geopolitical plots and why is that? A country has many people, not only one. if you built and open narrative, it allows for anyone who want to be included in the story to... well, be included. And a story being more geopolitical does not mean it is not character centric, but a character-centric story cannot be geopolitical.

Why did I mention him asking Eret for help before Philza joining in? Because it is simple thing like that the way to go to include other characters. If you invite another CC into your lore event, then that CC can develop how his character interacts and grows from that event. You see this with Eret, he shows regret over the betray, he shows his love for Fundy and his respect for Wilbur. It really is not that hard to do, which makes everything season 2 has done way more infuriating. The ONE thing Wilbur decides in season 2 showed more skill that anything in season 1 (Kind of an exaggeration but you get the point).

So to summarize, Wilbur will improve season 3 in two ways: Writing a bigger narrative that sustains more character and inviting said left-out characters to help out on events that they may not really have a lot of stake in.

Why it will be an uphill battle you ask? Because they got rid of L’manberg. The geopolitical stuff is barely present anymore. And season 2 negative’s will still affect the future of the SMP forever just as the strength’s of season 1 impacted the mix reception season 2 had.

PS: English. Me make mistakes sometimes. Me sorry. Also sorry if I rambled a bit too much. Head full.

PS2: The egg plot is cool and new and refreshing. But I cannot say it is very good until I see what the emotional core of the story is. It is still fairly new so I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

PS3: Sorry if I was too negative again, but there are already so many people pointing out the good things about the SMP. This fandom forgets that they are allowed to not like things, and disagree with the CC. I see many post per day saying things like: If CC does this (Insert stupid idea) then we (Their viewers who they have to appease in some way or another) we CANNOT COMPLAIN EVER. Like, no. Have some critical thinking and point out bad when you see it, I know this fandom is capable of it but many suppress critical thinking in this fandom in favor of very weird hive-mind ideas.

DESTIEL AND COCKLES RANT

THIS IS A RANT ON ALL THINGS DESTIEL AND COCKLES

PS. I do not know how to make gifs and or use photos yet so feel free to add yours

I have said this before and I will say it again. I have been in this fandom for a month and I ship Destiel and Cockles anyone who has a problem with this then move along and/or if you are an anti and read this, keep your hateful comments to yourself.

That being said, I have read about almost all ships in the fandom but mostly Destiel, Cockles, Wincest, and J2. Through all the reading and discovery, I still have to say I ship Cockles and Destiel more than ever before. However, I have seen some things from the antis that did not sit well with me.

This is going to be a long post so brace yourself and it is mostly about the hate the antis (anti-cockles, anti-wives , and anti-Destiel Shippers spread). Also this is a rant so don’t mind me,

ON DESTIEL

The hate on Destiel is massive. Mostly this is from Bronlies who hate Cas like he is the anti-Christ, and the Wincest shippers.

Now I am not trying to rain on anyone’s parade but come on. Cas is Dean’s best friend. Whether you ship them romantically or not, it is canon that Cas Dean’s best friend. We have seen time and again how miserable Dean is every time Cas dies. Dea has also expressly stated that Cas is his best friend and even said they are better together; all three of them including Sam. He has called him his family. So why the hate? Chuck himself has said that he has rebuilt Cas more times than anyone.

Now, people who believe that it is better to ship Sam and Dean who are literally blood brother but it is not okay to ship Dean and Cas what is wrong with you? Is it okay for someone to fuck their brother and/or be in love with them? I mean come on.

Before I was even a shipper, I always looked forward to episodes that Cas was in. He brought a different dynamic to the show in a positive way. Yes, I love the brothers but Cas is just deifferent and all the sass he brings makes the show, at least to me 10 times better. Sue me.

People saying that JA would never be comfortable with Destine because he is a Christian. I mean, he can call Chuck a dick, call angels dicks, make deals with demons and all other unchristian things but kissing another man is where he draws the line? If he was such a Christian, why does he let another man straddle him on stage or want to kill God?

Someone once said that JA supports wincest. I saw the video and I get what he said is that whatever floats your boat or something like that. So why is it so hard for him when it comes to Destiel? I don’t understand this man. He is a paradox.

ON COCKLES

I have seen antis, mostly those who ship J2 throw shade at MC saying that JA doesn’t like him, he just tolerates him and everything they do is for PR. I have not once seen anyone say that JP doesn’t like MC. You know why? I believe they view MC as a threat to their J2 ship.

So I stumbledupon this antis blog who had a whole analysis (much like am doing here) on why JA cannot be a couple. Here are some that I remember from the top of my head:

1. That JA said that he thinks Matt Bomer is attractive.

2. That JA moved to Austin to be live next to JP.

3. That JA and MC have nothing in common being that JA plays golf and sings etc and that MC does woodwork, writes poetry and bicycle touring.

4. That JA is with JP hence no. 2.

5. That JA does not curse on stage but MC does.

6. That MC does not take acting seriously but JA does.

Now now now. This beats logic. All the above things I beg to differ with not because I am cockles shipper but it is just common sense.

Being with someone or rather being in love with someone does not mean any of the above things have to be true. Hear me out.

1. On finding Matt Bomer attractive. I have many celebrity crushes, there are also ordinary people that I find attractive. But then again, I have a boyfriend, who I am in love with; I have been with for six years. But he looks nothing like my celebrity crushes or the ordinary people I find attractive. Does that mean I am not in love with him? No. It means I have eyes and I can appreciate beauty and have a few fantasies but I chose to be with him because I love him. He also has other people he finds attractive that look nothing like me, does that mean he does not love me? I mean come on.

Oh the most hilarious thing is that the anti said you cannot compare Matt to MC since Matt is way attractive. I mean come on; they may not look alike but they both have dark hair, blue eyes. Seriously people! And MC is so handsome and adorable at the same time. Sometimes I feel like he looks better than JA and JP. Sue me.

2. On JA moving to Austin. Lol. This means that he went to live next to his best friend. I mean come on. I have moved to live next to my best friend (bff) who is married. Does that mean I am in love with her? Hell no! But I feel safer knowing that she is there for me.

Also people need to understand, MC and JA could be involved romantically or not (pick your poison) but you don’t need to be next to your lover to love them or be in a relationship with them. Lond distance relationships anyone? They have families and kids and other priorities. Just because you are in a relationship with someone does not necessarily mean you live together or evn in the same area. Distance makes the heart grow fonder and also they are where they are now because of other priorities in their lives. So, living together or in the same town doesn’t make you more or less in love.

3. On the issue of common interests. This made me laugh so hard. I mean comeon, People who are together do not need to share any interests. The diversity of their interests is probably what attracted them to each other. Also how can you say a poet and a singer have nothing in common? They are artists. MC can write poems that JA can sing. Oh also remember that video MC’s friend DM posted on Twitter where they did the whole bicycle touring in Germany? Uh huh? JA seemed to be interested in that a lot. So..

4. I could say a lot about JA being with Jp. This J2 being married and their wives being beards is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Seriously, J2 tinhats have gone ahead to hate of D’s posts and call her names. Telling her to stop pretending that she is JA. It is laughable and not in a nice way, really. Can they just stop? Before I became a cockles shipper I watched J2 videos where they interact be it cons, red carpet moments or even gag reels. It is just different. All I see are two bros; one that is really playful like a little puppy and the other one trying to be the big brother. As for JA and MC, it is different, there are things that JA is comfortable when Mc does that he is not comfortable when JP does them. Neck kisses for a start.

Also most of the J2 tinhats evidence about J2 being real is rarely backed up by visual evidence and if there is any, it is usually from years ago. I am not hating on antis, just stating facts.

5. I mean, cursing on stage really? I curse all the time my bf doesn’t. Does that mean he doesn’t like me or love me? Hell to the Fucking No! Suck it!

6. On Mc not taking acting seriously. Yeah I can guess why he doesn’t. It is not his only priority unlike JA who has chosen it as a career path. From what I have seen, MC’s priorities include making the world a better place through charities, politics, and oh, he is also a writer. Oh so forgive him if he is not obsessed with acting. Besides JA says that he likes how he acts as Cas because it is not like anything he has seen from other guest stars that have come on the show. I mean not being serious about something does not mean that you are not good at it. Would he have lasted 11 seasons if he was not good at what he does?

There was also hate that JA is only around MC for PR and he actually hates him. There were some photos and gifs so the apparent hate. So, if he cannot stand him, why is there so much evidence of JA going to MC to give some love, Neck kisses, intimate IG posts, face caresses, ass smacks, calling him his baby dadfy, heart eyes, even when they don’t know that they are being filmed?

Also why is it during the Vegascon 2020 all JA did was bring up MC unnecessarily even when no one, absolutely nobody asked him to. Come on! stop the bs and admit that Cockles is the realest ship in the history of ships!!

ON THE WIVES

I swear bitches be crazy. How can you just hat someone for literally nothing? This is mostly from J2 tinhats at other J2 stans who do not ship J2 together romantically. I mean…comeon. You do not need to be a stan for the wives just because they are married to J2 but please stop with the madness.

I recently saw someone comment on various JA posts on IG asking why he is lying to the fans that he is with D when he is with JP. So many rude things have been said about the wives especially D that it breaks my heart.

Seiously? People have gone ahead even to say that she is with JA’s friend SC and that the twins are not JA’s they are SC’s since D and SC are ‘always’ hanging out together. My question is, so D is not supposed to hang out with their friends? And for Chuck’s sake, everyone can see that the twins especially the boy (idk their names, sorry) looks like JA’s twin. I mean come on people.

I believe that they hate D because she says how much she loves MC and that Cas is her favorite character and that they are also bitter that JA chose her and not them. Just my opinion, but what do I know. On JP and G. I don’t know much about them mostly because I do not follow either of them of IG or elsewhere but I have seen hate on G as well.

The antis have gone ahead to say that when JA said that he was hanging out with SC writing songs, that he was lying and that nothing was happening he was just trying to dampen the rumours. I wonder how they felt when the album by JA and Sc came out last year. Jokes on you haters. Bitches be crazy fr.

Oh, the antis also say that the same way JA looks at his wife is the same way he looks at MC. With contempt. I mean talk about hanging yourself with your own rope. What they are saying is, JA feels about his wife the same way he feels abouts MC. Aww! That is true love bitches.

If JA actually cannot stand MC, shouldn’t he have gotten him fired from the show or at least make sure he gets less screen time and that they don’t have any panels together being that JA is the star of the show and all. I mean Mark left and he was a major character to the plot so...

Also why would JA give and buy MC clothes if he hates him? Give him a ring, a bracelet? Huh? Explain it to me.

Oh, some anti also said that before every Cockles panel at JIBCON JA cries and has to be forced on stage by Daniella and JP has to give him a hug and that’s why he drinks a lot of apple juice. LOL. WTF? What do you say to such people. I cannot even..My question is, are we talking about the same Cockles panels that I have seen? Then JA deserves all the Oscars and Tony Awards for his impeccable acting skills when he is around MC. Must really hate him. *wink*

MY TWO CENTS ON COCKLES

I know JA gives off mixed actions about MC. But I think it is to confuse people like us, shippers. He does’t want to too out there so he tries so hard to be mean with his words. But his actions tell a different story. I mean, who gets a boner when their friend straddles them on stage and then goes ahead to post that chest to chest selfie on IG. That is the gayest thing I have ever seen.

Sharing clothes? I mean friends do share clothes but if it is like a daily thing. More than 20 articles of clothing exchanged between each other on various occasions even when they are apart does not make sense to me. And to make matters worse, JA does not deny it. One even had a tag on it. Lol. We are not children, we can see what is going on.

The 2014 DallasCon – Rob’s Birthday Party. WTF? Was all that between JA and MC? Why did he he swallow and react like that when he saw MC’s bare abdomen? Who does that? Also the looks when MC was leaving the stage. Come on.

Also what was up with the” I love you from the bottom of my heart” at the MTV top 10 in 2010.

The wife is my rock but I am glad to have some pebbles in my life.

Truth is, JA could post a video of him balls deep in MC and the antis could say that somehow MC manipulated JA to post it for PR.

People need to leave MC alone, he ie a human being who has made mistakes, JA and JP have too and I don’t see the antis hating on them. The double Standard s FOH.

I could write about this forever but the truth is JA loves MC, and D and V know that they love each other. All their friends know including JP and other castmates. I believe they know it is more than just friends and the antis can’t stand it because they also know it to be true.

JA LOVES MC. JP LOVES MC. J2M LOVE EACH OTHER. J2 LOVE THEIR WIVES. STOP THE HATE!!

I am not done but I am done for now. I could be here forever writing about this if I do not stop.

1. What song automatically plays in your head when you look out the window on a long drive?

i dont really have an answer for this. i think i just automatically think about any song ive been listening to recently or any song that has been stuck in my head.

2. Do you have some snacks nearby when you write?

well i live in a two story house so the kitchen is downstairs and im usually lazy busy so since i have a mini fridge upstairs i just usually get water to drink while im writing. its kinda hard to eat and write cuz i loose focus really easily so when i am writing i am writing! i am in the zone! but if i am a little hungry ill usually snack on candy like chocolate kinder joys i love them but they r so expensive or snack on chips but i get like salt on my fingers or i like cheetos so cheetos dust and that just gets everywhere and later my hands and keyboard kinda smell like fart. 3. What do you do to combat creative burnout?

so burnout happens to me a lot so to get inspiration i either read other stories or fanfics which gets my head gears turning or i admire a piece of art or photography or a song. whats so unique and satisfying with writing you can explore and go anywhere with it, hehehe erotic if you know what i mean lol jk there are no barriers with writing just your imagination. there is inspiration any where you go and id advise to never stop writing. even if its a few short sentences or paragraphs about anything even bird poop its still progression and your mind is working and your searching for words like its all good for you bby. 4. Do you use (or like to use) prompts?

i do ill put the link here. im thinking of changing it though to do something different.

5. What is your favorite place to write?

lol boring, i know but my room. my room is really bright in the mornings and comfortable and chill and i have a candle of the pandora ride in disney that smells like the ride so its all good and relaxing and super peaceful plus i have a picture of myself the age of like 9 on my desk idk why but it encourages me and makes me focus to make sure i never get that cringy again.

6. What is a hobby or yous that you usually don’t talk about?

well i like working out HAHAHAHAHA jk that was a joke...get it...cuz i much rather be eatingokillstop. but i really like to draw which i have a art page you can see it if you click here pls look at my failed attempts to be hip and cool with the cool kids and being artsy fartsy. another hobby is i really like to do makeup and nail art, nail art is really tough guys no joke if you do it like you got wizard powers are something. maybe its bc my nails are shorter than pete davidson and ariana grande’s relationship, alright im trying to stop i swear!

7. Do you play an instrument? Which one?

no i wish though. i always wanted to learn to either play the piano or electric guitar cuz H.E.R looks so cool doing it.

8. How do you feel about your handwriting?

it sucks dont even try me. my sister can barely read it like no wonder nobody wants to steal my signature heck they can’t even read it!

9. Can you tell us of a story that marked your development as a person? As a writer?

ok sit back guys, sniff a nice amount of crack and get ready for the most cringy moment of my life but also a time when i knew i was meant to be *inhale* a fanfic writer.

so it was elementary school, i think 3rd grade and for my writing assignment we were given a prompt of idk what the heck tbh i think it was like be outside the box and im like ok imma nail this cuz im a weird child and yeah so i got my papers and pencil and i went TO TOWN on this paper. so i wrote two stories. one short story with a picture to go with it and one long story that yeah i buried years ago. so my first story was about a farmer was about that farming life. he had chickens and dairy. so i cant remember if the cheese was spoiled but doesnt matter. anywho these cheese and a chicken were alive like they could talk in the story and i gave them faces, yikes. but the whole story was the farmer was a b*tch and he was trying to eat the chicken and cheese so they hatched a plan to get away from the farmer. they did it successfully and they ran away. yay happy ending my teacher actually liked that one me too and my school mates were thinking what they heck is this girl on i made a story about how me and justin bieber made cookies for Christmas you know. so then my other story i was more proud of this one cuz it was a tone of paper, sorry trees, and this story was about how a female hippo (girl i was all about plus size and thicker girls and no body shaming) and an male ostrich were kidnapped from their own habitats and taken to become circus animals. failed version of Madagascar hey mine was before the circus movie OK THEY STOLE IT FROM MEEEEE. so they get taken and are treated to harsh punishment and the animals can talk and i think its in the point of view of the male ostrich guy thing. they are in the circus and they start to have this relationship happening. love starts blossoming its all good. im happy with this cuz i believed in love at age of 8. they find a way thru a kick butt scene of the animals escaping and the hippo and ostrich are so in love that they run away together and they have half hippo half ostrich babies and i think i named the species hipstrich or like ostppo idk but i was so proud of this story and when my teacher read it she was worried about me lol i think she thought i might like mate these two animals like secretly idk but she was like it was ok and i was like what this is frickin William Shakespeare writing or like F. Scott Fitzgerald writing. nevertheless it taught me a lesson that nobody else needs to like what im writing the main point and only thing that matters is if your proud of it and you like it and i really did. i will remember that story forever and thats what made me want to be a writer. lol sorry that was a lot.

1. What is your favorite book?

fifty shades of grey hahaha naw my favorite book is obv you all know this is series of unfortunate events but i never usually cry period and i never cry for books ever so when i read mrs. tom thumb by melanie benjamin, its the part when her sister minnie dies i cried so hard idk it was just emotional the wording the way she described her pain it was so beautiful written yet so sad and that was just amazing to me cuz im like this book made me feel things and im like wow i would love to write a book one day and make someone feel something whether it be sadness anger happiness annoyance anything they are having an emotion and that is super powerful to do that with just words. pls go check out that book its a good read. also im a fan of the greatest showman so i really enjoyed it. there are many other books tho that i thoroughly enjoy so much.

2. What piece that you’ve written are you most proud of?

oh my god ive always wanted to be asked this question hands down i am always proud of my platonic gender neutral tony stark fic called in·con·sol·a·ble window to me i wrote it so sad and i was feeling like depressed lol when i saw peter die in infinity war like i didnt know what to do with my life tbh but im so glad that @impetrichorny requested it tysm i just like how its not based on romance or fluff or happiness it is based on when you lose someone the nightmares and sadness you go through and that there is nothing nobody can do about it except just be there for that person so i really like writing angst and something that was out of the box. ive been thinking tho of doing a part two since the fate of all the characters has changed after endgame. who knows tho.

3. What is the last song that inspired you?

well for art it would have to good news by mac miller when i did that kobe bryant memorial on my art page. i dont want to give it away though but ill just say some very powerful womens music inspired my oc writing and making.

4. How do you feel about letting people read what you write?

at first i was scared cuz i thought i wrote like trash which that feeling kinda doesnt go away like some days i feel that way others i feel confident or it depends on the request it just depends but anyways i was always insecure about my writing so when i started writing it was more like lets see how this goes if not ill delete the whole page. im glad to say it went great but in the begging it was hard cuz i kept putting myself down but i learned to accept or just understand that you keep learning with writing you always learn knew things with writing how you can explain something better or you words get more intricate and people see the improvement and you do too thats why i applaud those who dont speak english that english isnt their first language. you are doing a tremendous job and keep practicing cuz you’re gonna make it to the top. ive also learned that some days are not my days and you can take time off when youre not feeling it when you have writers block. just recollect your juices sip some tea go to the beach relax your mind a little and take as long as you need to come back and give it your all. also comments and reblogs and likes a follows those meant so much to me and encouraged me. thats why i cant express it enough how much all those mean to writers, artist, photographers, anybody who is truly trying their hard in this area of social media. its makes a person happy smile and confident in their writing but first train your mind into loving what you make not what others thing. you have to be happy with the outcome that is what truly matters and what makes your writing the best. look at me getting philosophical.

yes and with porn haha i get distracted easily like very easily homeschooling was really tough for me. music distracts me, netflix, the urge to watch david dobrik or unus annus or buzzfeed unsolved on youtube, heck my farts distract me. i gotta be like troy bolton i gotta get my HEAD IN THE GAME!

Yugioh S2 Ep 41: It’s Mai’s Turn to Get Electrocuted

Hey guys, welcome to the Christmas Break.

It’s TV watching season, so lets watch some TV and over-analyze a 20 yo kid’s show, you in?

Odion, after suffering from a lightning strike and getting impaled by many pieces of that fake millennium rod he was holding gets dropped off in the only room on this blimp that has sheets. He also had the added shock of witnessing his brother morph into a somewhat evil-er dude with saiyan hair, which I dunno, I’d want to take a nap too, that’s a lot to deal with.

(And thanks to some reader input, turns out this Marik isn’t so much a ghost situation so much. I mean, I guess it’s more of a Season Zero --this is your deep down scary personality taking over-- type thing but it’s not like I really finished Season Zero so...We’re just rolling with it.)

Glad we have an actual hospital wing--confused as to why Bakura isn’t here.

But I guess lightning strike is slightly worse than having a bleeding stab wound for 12 hours. I mean I’m no doctor, maybe it is? Anyway, Odion is hooked up to all sorts of computers and life support although there aren’t any cords attached to him anywhere on his body. Not even one piss-yellow IV bag.

The rest of the Yuge Crew are here although I’m pretty sure that’s not how hospitals work. Pretty sure you have to be related to drop on in directly after being put in intensive care but like, they are on a blimp so I guess it’s different up there. But also, this guy has abducted them once already and just tried to kill Joey for the second time, and now they are like “We’re basically on BFF family terms with this Odion guy, lets visit that bedside.”

Although, mind you, his real family is Marik and Ishizu, both of which have never said aloud that Odion is their brother. This family is sort of bad at life, TBH.

Since we’re barrelling right into a Mai arc we have to confront one of her 2 big Mai character conflicts--which is either “this is why I don’t get married” or “OMG I am going to die forever alone.” Which is interesting, because last time we hung out with her, we did whatever we could to keep her independent, while in this episode Mai mourns that being independent is the ultimate curse. Girl wants whatever she doesn’t have, pretty much.

Ah, Miss independent, never thought I’d get that song stuck in my head again. Thanks, Mai. Except in this version, instead of falling in love, Mai just makes weird friendships with jail bait teenagers. Why can’t she make friends with like, Roland? He’s her age. Or maybe this nice doctor? But whatever, age is meaningless on this show.

Anyway, Joey has decided to tell us all about that dream he had but leaves out the parts where he dropped everything he owns, and then knocked himself over a desk onto his face, and then in the same dream Kaiba kinda walked in from off screen, dunked on him, and then walked directly off screen again.

Mai is deeply touched.

And then, because she is Mai, gets extremely offended immediately afterward.

I can keep hoping it’ll be Duke Devlin but like...as much as I want him to do more on this show, I really think the only people who remember Duke Devlin at this point are all the animators who were like “HOW many people are in this shot?! Why did we make a season where every scene is a freakin crowd scene!?”

*I know the shading on her ass was supposed to be attractive but it looks like nasty sweat stains*

(Also what the hell computer-machinery is supposed to be behind them in this scene?)

This one time where Joey doth protest too much is the first time we have ever, ever on this show seen Joey act less than vague towards Mai. During the dream episode he blushed, but I thought that was because of Serenity being there for her brother in his dream. I didn’t at all think that was over Mai at the time.

But I guess this is happening now? I mean people kept saying “yes, Joey and Mai will be a thing” and I was like “they better start building up to that because like...nothing is happening.” but this show’s version of building up to that was by just not being vague one single time.

Which in this show is a big deal, I guess. Because shortly after this event, Tea remembers that her character description sheet says “Is bossy AF” with red underline and was like “OMG I totally forgot and it’s been like 20 episodes since I did anything, I gotta hurry” and she just lost her lid.

I’m regretting more and more that joke I made that TeaxKaiba was way more reasonable than TeaxYugi, because sometimes when Tea goes ham she may as well be wearing a long spiky coat with boots leggings. Tea had two very different personalities way before she ever got possessed by Bakura. Like, Tea is kind of a monster actually, but we rarely get to see it because she gets completely distracted and cries a lot when it just feels like...the other half of her, the half that bit a guy once--like she legit bit a guy on this show--that side of Tea would just never cry over cards. Or cry, period. She sure wasn’t crying when she bit that guy!

This is mostly because I think the writers didn’t know how to write a girl like Tea since she’s a mix of a Season Zero Tea and this more old fashioned-’feminine’ version I think they were trying to turn her into for this series. It’s weird. It’s weird that this group of friends have nothing to say about these very abrupt changes in her behavior. Then again, it took them a while to notice the abrupt changes in Yugi.

Anyway, Joey isn’t done getting harassed by everyone he knows yet.

We have Marik trapped in a blimp in the sky and the entire Kaiba security force, why are we dueling him anymore? I mean I know why, we are contractually obligated to show lots of card content in this show to sell cards, but at this point I feel like maybe they should drive the blimp over international waters and resort to maritime law. Give Kaiba a gun.

Actually don’t do that, it would be bad. Don’t give Kaiba a gun. Give it to Duke or something, he seems stable enough. He seems like he’d be able to shoot somebody but not everybody, if you know what I mean.

And because it’s the Mai arc, we gotta have Mai duel next. There’s only 3 people left to go against: Ishizu, Kaiba, and Marik. I think. There’s so many people on this show. Tea isn’t playing, right? I mean I really do feel like like I’ve forgotten someone--maybe Shadi? Miho? So many people are on this blimp.

Whatever, I’ll just roll with it, if I forgot someone I’m sure they’ll show up at some point.

Mai sure is that girlfriend.

Anyway, lets see what Marik’s up to. Ah, he really is visiting his older brother after all.

That’s right--Marik has to play twice. I mean obvi the first Marik was Odion, but still, it just feels like it’s Marik playing twice.

Also can we please talk about Marik’s cargo pants obsession for a little bit? This arch villain is in CARGO PANTS. Like, they have puffy pockets. He figured out that the hoodie was a bad look, but then he was like “I’ll just cover my tum-tum, and then put on my khaki cargo pants with a sensible belt.”

It just sort of insinuates that Marik only owns cultist robes and cargo pants. Just those two things. Imagine if every pant in your closet was cargo pants. Just imagine with me. You’d go mad, too. Imagine you packed for a trip, a nice vacay on a blimp, and then you opened your luggage and you were like “oops! all cargo pants!” you’d fly home.

Marik looks like he’s going to Casual Khaki’s Friday at the office from about the stomach down, and then stomach up up he’s ready to join piccolo and fuse brains or whatever the hell goes on in Dragonball Z.

And Yugi and his friends are late to Mai’s duel because they are teenagers and also of course they would. This whole season was introduced with Yugi being chronically late to stuff.

The bathroom joke in this episode is canon, PS. I skipped a Season Zero episode where Tristan went to the loo and so Yugi held his spot in line and it took like 30 minutes before Tristan finally got back. Tristan’s epic poops have apparently been Yugioh canon since the very beginning.

I’m learning so much about the lore.

Now that Marik no longer has to hide who he is, he has decided that he’ll just use the Shadow Realm willy-nilly now. Although Marik did this without playing any cards at all, it doesn’t seem to register to Seto Kaiba that this is not a hologram. Maybe Kaiba sneezed when Marik summoned it and just assumed he missed a card play or something.

So now, for our gimmick!

Every time we fight in the Shadow Realm it feels like the rules are a little bit different, and Marik decided to make this duel a memory fight.

The Shadow Realm seems to eat on your greatest insecurities, and for Mai it’s feeling all alone. Not sure how that works once the duel is over--her friends will still be there, so like...she can just get a heads up on the one day they went camping that one time and then boom, friendship rekindled, I think. But for now, this is very scary for everyone involved.

But I mean at least she isn’t a playing card, or being thrown into a graveyard by being played as a card, or being devoured by gloopy blobs, or rapidly dying because of the exposure to the shadow zone. As far as Shadow Realms go this one seems kind of tame.

But I guess we shall see if somehow losing Tea will effect her story in any way.

Depends on which Tea, in my opinion, but if we’re going for the normal boring one that only cries wellllllll I wouldn’t notice if she were gone, just saying. Now, if it’s the fun Tea that bites people and yanks their ears off their face, well being forced to lose my memories of her is what the writers do to me basically every episode of this show. Let Tea bite more people in the arm. Let that girl rage.

But all that will be for another recap where we can all watch Mai get Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind-ed as if a memory wipe hasn’t happened at least once to every single person on this show with the exception of Mokuba. And Mokuba was a paper card for like I want to say about 10 episodes, so...

Secret Admirer - Zhou Rui

Zhou Rui shakes his head once again and rolls his eyes at you. Your face is half burried into the boquet of your favorite flowers, eyes softly shut as you inhale the aroma.

“Something else from your secret admirer?” he raises his eyebrows. You nod at him, blushing. He’s wiping a table off in the corner of the little cafe the two of you worked at. Since it was raining pretty hard out, there weren’t many customers. Maybe a couple every hour but other than that, it was just the two of you. “Are you ever going to try and figure out who this person is?” he asks you as he throws the rag over his shoulder. “Or are you going to sit and dream about it all day every day?”

“How could I even try to figure this out?” you pout. “They never leave me hand written notes. Everything is from a type writer. They never leave clues about who they are or anything.” You lean against the counter and sigh sadly. “Guess my secret admirer just wants to stay a secret.”

“Have any guesses on who it could be?” he asks. His back is turned to you as he pour himself some tea.

“I reckon it’s someone close to me,” you reply. “How else would they know my favorite flowers? Or drop off my favorite snacks?” He turns to you while sipping his tea, the steam fogging his glasses up. You both laugh at him as he pulls them off his face and wipes them with the corner of his shirt. “And what about you?” you ask.

“What about me?” he raises his eyebrows as he puts his glasses back on.

“How is your love life?” Zhou Rui shrugs and brings the cup back up to his mouth, blowing on it then sipping some more. “Oh common, Rui,” you squeeze his arm. “There has to be somebody in your life.”

He stares at your hand for a moment before clicking his tongue and shaking his head. “The only people in my life right now is Quanzhe and Zhenghao.” He rolls his eyes at the thought of the two boys.

“Only them?” you pout.

“Of course you’re there too when you’re not being annoying,” he slyly smiles. You smack his arm playfully, causing him to burst into a fit of giggles. “I’m joking! I’m joking!”

“You better be,” you warn.

He finishes his cup of tea and throws it away as he checks his phone. It was almost six and the two of you would be off soon, having come earlier in the morning. “Hey, wanna have dinner at my place?” he asks. “Quanzhe and Zhenghao are coming over.”

“The more the merrier,” you smile.

Something flashes in his eyes when you smile at him. You want to ask what’s wrong when a customer comes in, causing Zhou Rui to greet them loudly and take their order. You sigh at the lost chance. Maybe you’ll ask him later. For now, you’ll just make this order and count the minutes until you leave.

He drives you to his house.

Even if you weren’t coming over, it was still raining out. He didn’t want you to have to take the bus when the weather was like this.

Zhou Rui drives with the radio turned up. One hand on the steering wheel, the other arm resting on the compartment between you two. Every now and again, he squeezes your knee and sings along. You can’t help but feel some sort of weird sensation in your stomach.

You thought he was beautiful. Anyone with two eyes could see that. He was playful and funny and always found a way to turn your bad days into good ones. He gave the best advice. He loaned you his sweaters and bought you lunch. Some days, he would call you right before you fell asleep to talk about something random and sing you a song until you found yourself drifting away. Other days, he would invite you over to sing and dance with him. You always admired him.

You two pick up Quanzhe and Zhenghao on the way back. They were his two students that he taught to play piano in his off time. Both were mischievous and young. Sometimes, Zhou Rui would invite you over to watch him give lessons and you’d listen to the three boys play music effortlessly together for hours on end until they all had to pick up and leave.

The two of then greet you the same way as they enter the car. They scream your name and try their best to hug you from the back seat before they talk their heads off to you about random things that had happened since your last meeting.

They were adorable. No matter how many times Zhou Rui told you they were annoying and brats, you could see all the love he had for them. It’s always the little things. He turns around and makes sure they buckle up. He asks if they’ve finished all their homework. He rewards them for good grades, treats them when they’ve had bad days. He loves them so much.

You hope that someone will come along and love him just as much.

“Rui, I’m going to climb up and find myself a sweater,” you tell him as you peel off your wet one. He’s all the way in the kitchen, the boys talking a little loudly. He asks you to repeat what you say as you go upstairs but instead, you roll your eyes and continue to walk up. He shouldn’t mind, right? You’ve been up here thousands of times.

You walk into his room and open the door. It’s a little messy. You expected that. He has his guitar on the bed, his sheets thrown lazily over to the side, clothes and random items scattered the floor. You throw open the closet, your fingers dragging along the fabrics delicately.

“Feel that?” he chuckled. “Boyfriend material.”

You scoff at the faint memory and tug one of his sweaters off of the hook and throw it over your head. It smells just like him, you think as you bury your nose into the fabric.

You sigh. It’s times like this where you didn’t wish you had a secret admirer. You’ve liked Zhou Rui for God knows how long. And you’ve tried to drop hints but every time, Zhou Rui seems to let them hit the floor, ruffling your hair and calling you a kid once more.

Once you return back to the kitchen, you see Zhenghao carefully helpig Zhou Rui cut up some vegetables while Quanzhe stuffs the excess into his mouth, snickering quietly as Zhou Rui doesn’t notice. You decide to join in on the fun, picking up a piece to pop into your mouth when suddenly, someone grabs your wrist.

Your eyes meet Zhou Rui’s intense gaze. His lips curl into a small smile. “As much as I know you must be starving over there, I do need these for my recipe.” You bite your lip and twist your hand around, waving the piece in front of his face. He stares at it for a moment then shakes his head. “Nice try, kid.”

You and Quanzhe decide to set the table in the mean time.

By the time dinner starts, the two boys start another pointless conversation.

“So...anyone special in your life?” Quanzhe asks, shoveling another spoon full of rice into his mouth.

You shake your head, “Nope.”

“But Zhou Rui told us you have a secret admirer,” Zhenghao frowns. “You don’t know who it is yet?”

“Not yet,” you reply. “But maybe if he finally decides to shows his face then perhaps. It’s been two months now and I’ve never had any hint on who it is. Rui has never even seen him and whenever I ask Zhengting who drops the gifts off, he always says he doesn’t know.”

“Weird,” Quanzhe coughs.

Zhou Rui eyes them both. “You two seem particularly interested in this conversation.”

Zhenghao scoffs, “Who? Us? No.”

“Really? Because this isn’t the first time you’ve brought it up,” Zhou Rui crosses his arms. “You two wouldn’t happen to know anything, would you?”

“You mean know that you’re in love with YN?” Zhenghao mutters under his breath.

“Excuse me?” Zhou Rui spits. Quanzhe chokes on his food while you stare with wide eyes. “Could you repeat that for me, Hao?”

“Both of you are dumb, that is all I’m saying,” Zhenghao says. Zhou Rui stands up quickly, causing the younger one to stand up and run behind your chair. “Save me!” he cries out as Zhou Rui stomps towards you. You stand up, putting your hand on his chest as he tries to get to the boy. “It was Quanzhe’s idea!”

“What?! Me?!” the hamster like boy cries out as Zhou Rui moves to attack him.

“He said we should act like their secret admirer to make you jealous and possibly make a move!” Zhenghao explains as both of them coward behind you. “Just admit that you love YN!”

Zhou Rui’s eyes are set ablaze. You throw your arms around him, wrapping him in a tight hug. He instantly softens at your touch but that doesn’t mean he still isn’t angry. “I am so sorry about these idiots. I know you were probably expecting some knight in shining armor and not two snot nosed doofuses but-“

“Rui, do you like me?” you tease, looking up at him.

“I mean I have been flirting with you since hour second day of work but Zhenghao is right. You’re kinda stupid,” he scoffs. “Either way, that’s not the point. I’m sorry to let you down.”

“Let me down?” you sigh in relief. “Rui, I’ve had a fat crush on you since the day we met! I even told Zhengting and that’s why we work the same shifts!”

“Wait really?” You nod. “So you really do like me? This isn’t some prank and Zhenghao and Quanzhe aren’t just using you to get back at me for all the hours of piano practice I put them through?”

“I think you should aplogize to them,” you whisper.

“Yeah!” they both chant, causing Zhou Rui’s to glare. They immediately back down and whisper “sorry ge.”

“How about I take these two home and when I come back, I show you just how much I like you?” he smirks, kissing your cheek.

“Please don’t kill them when you leave,” you laugh. “I just got you. I can’t have you going to jail just yet.”

“But you said you like bad boys,” he pouts.

You lean up and place a quick peck on his lips. “I just like you, Zhou Rui.”

He smiles and cups your cheek, this time pulling you into a soft and tender kiss. It lasts longer and is filled with all of the emotions he’s hidden for so long. Finally, he thinks.

The moment was going great until he hears gagging in the background. He pulls away and shakes his head, grabbing his keys. “They’re so lucky I like you too much.”

The night is filled with soft and tender touches. He confesses how much he likes you, says he could definitely fall in love with you one of these days and wants to have you in his arms forever.

Forever is a long time but to Zhou Rui, he wouldn’t mind as long as it’s with you.

Author’s note: as someone with several anxiety disorders, i hope this is portrayed well. I hope you like it! PS THIS WAS REALLY GOOD AND THEN GOOGLE DECIDED TO DELETE LIKE 5 FUCKING PARAGRAPHS AND IM SO ANGRY.

You had met the infamous Billy Hargrove the day he’d walked through Hawkins High. How could you not have? Your locker was directly next to his, not to mention the two classes you’d shared with him.

And honestly? You didn’t understand the fuss over him. The guys either hated him or loved him because of how much of a “lady-killer” he was (Jonathan had called him this, not you, and you nearly choked on the sandwich you were chowing on), and how he ‘dethroned’ Steve Harrington (a boy you’d come to know through your close friend Nancy. He’d never admit, but he was actually slightly upset). The girls either thought he was the hottest guy in town, or the biggest misogynist.

You? You were both. You couldn’t deny how handsome his denim clad everything was, but at the end of the day, it was tiring seeing different girls pushed up right next to and being pinned by his hips. But when he wasn’t being a complete and horny ken doll, he was genuinely nice to you. He’d ask how your day was the times he wasn’t all over a girl, and if Jonathan or Nancy had something to do at lunch, leaving you alone, he’d come sit next to you and you’d share some of your Doritos with him. If you expected him, he’d even gain his own bag at times.

Of course, this gained some negative attention of the girls Billy had been with.

Now it was the time of some girls party Nancy had asked you to go to with her, Jonathan, and Steve. And while you didn’t wanna go, and you’d told Nancy you really thought it was a really bad idea for you to go, here you were, on a stranger’s couch, with a cup of “pure fuel”. In the background, you could hear Billy screaming “Yeah! That’s how you do it, Hawkins!”

You’d chuckled and took a sip of whatever the hell was in the “pure fuel”.

You felt the couch dip beside you. It was Carol, the school’s prettiest girl and your daily harasser. You inhaled, shakily, taking another drink from your cup.

“What are you doing here, (Y/N)? Looking for a quick dick? Where are you friends?”

Her friends chuckled annoyingly at this, “oh, wait, you don’t have any.”

Your breathing quickened, hands getting clammy, eyes watered up. You didn’t notice Billy making his way to you before getting up to leave through the front door.

The cool autumnal air kissed your skin. It was cold, and you really should've brought a jacket, but it helped, even if your body told you it wasn't.

As you walked down the street, aiming for your house, you heard a car rev. Thinking it was another passerby, you ignored it, until you heard it stop and someone open then close the door. You turned, only to be met with your locker neighbor.

“What the hell were you thinking, (Y/N)?! It’s freezing!”

You stared at him not processing what was happening, “you okay? What happened?”

And that’s how Billy Hargrove made you cry without meaning to. You broke down, holding yourself tighter while hyperventilating. Billy made his way to you, took of his well-loved jacket, and put it around you, before hugging you, a hand on the top of your head, holding you to his chest, the other on the small of your back. This Billy, the one without the constant want of sex and substance, was sweet, soft, caring.

“It’s okay, doll, it’s okay. Just breathe, okay? Here, let me help you.”

He guided you to his car, the instant relief of warm air hitting you. Your arms gripped his jacket as he buckled you in, kissing the top of your head.

He kissed the top of your head.

He did that.

But it wasn’t Billy Fuckboy Hargrove, again. He was simply letting you know that he’s got you. And the he cares for you. You looked at him, and smiled. He brought his hand to your cheek, rubbing it with his thumb, before going around and getting in his seat.

“Where to?”

You shrugged, not actually wanting to go back home. Your mom worried about you anyways, with your anxiety, Dustin’s constant disappearances, and Mews not showing up (you knew that rat was dead, but you couldn’t bring yourself to tell her). Billy shrugged jokingly, grinning at you, before driving back into town. You rested your head against the cool window, finally calming down.

The drive was to a cute, open-all-day diner. It’s mint green and baby pink theme hugged your eyes in a welcoming hold. You smiled.

“Wanna grab a coffee sometime?” Billy asked, half joking, half seriously.

You breathily chuckled, “are you asking me on a date while we’re in front of it?”

He gave a hearty laugh, “yeah, I guess I am, Henderson. So, what do you say, huh?”

You nodded, opening the door as Billy got out as well, and walked inside. You were greeted by an older lady, who was too tired for her own good, and sat down at a back booth.

After giving your order, you sat in silence, thinking about what to say, as Billy lit a cigarette. He offered it to you, which you kindly declined.

“I’m sorry about earlier, I just-”

Billy cut you off, “you don’t need to explain, doll. We’ve got our own shit to deal with.” he smirked his normal Billy-esque smirk and took your hand in his.

“Thank you.” you whispered.

“Nah, thank you.”

You frowned at him and he lightly smiled, before receiving his pecan pie and boyishly digging in.

The two of you stayed there for a while, chatting, asking silly question, and eventually opened up to one another. He talked some about his home life, which gave you some insight as to why he craved such obscenities, and you talked about your own home life, and how your brother is doing a little better with the school and his bullies.

He drove you home that night, and walks you to your doorstep.

“Thanks for the ride, Billy.” you looked down, smiling.

“Thanks for the date, (Y/N).” he plays. You look up, and he stares at you for a bit, smiling, before leaning down and kissing your cheek.

“I gotta head home, but I’ll see you at school.”

“Yeah…”

You watched him drive off, taking his time and actually doing the speed limit, before you walked in the house. You were greeted with Dustin and your mother, staring jumping back from the window next to the door and acting like they weren’t spying on you.

“You guys suck.” you laughed.

“You suck! You’re the one hanging out with Billy Hargrove! Letting him get all mushy-mushy with you!” Dustin joked with your mom.

“Mom, make him stop.” you whined jokingly, hugging the both of them.

Dustin started complaining, “Ewww, you smell like him! Hey is that his jacket? Gross!”

You only then realized you still had his jacket on. Well, now you’d have an excuse to talk to him first thing Monday morning.

just found out that there are people who hate taylor swift so much that they make videos on youtube explaining why they hate her.

so far I've only watched 3 and wow these girls know nothing about taylor but they hate her so much. I did rant in their video comment sections:

The Four-Leaf Clover

A/N: Hi guys! It’s me again. So this short story popped up in my mind. I hope you guys enjoy reading it! And I apologize in advance for any grammatical error. English isn’t my first language.

Word count: 1,684

Rating: General but is a bit sad and gloomy

Summary: You’re the typical shy girl, considered as invisible. With an unknown reason, Calum is drawn to you. Simply put, he noticed you when everybody ignored you. But to his surprise, there’s a reason why.

Chapter One: HOPE

There are times that Calum just doesn’t understand things, one of them is you. For him, you are the complete opposite of what he looks for in a girl. But here he is, utterly in love with you. Drawn to you like a moth drawn to fire.

Calum dubbed you as the ice princess for a reason. You barely smile. You seldom talk with anyone. You’re contented with being on your own little world.

He has a thing for girls who are animated. Who exudes warmth and friendliness. Something that is anything but you.

You’ve put up a lot of barriers. You wear mask after mask of emotions to cover up the real you.

But why? Something that Calum wonders a lot. Surely, no one could be that icy. He thought that maybe you are acting that way because you’re a new student.

“Hi, y/n!” He smiled.

“Hello.” You timidly replied.

He was about to start a conversation with you but you left the room, leaving Calum all alone.

Another failed attempt.

Later that afternoon, he decided to write a song on the rooftop of the school. To his surprise, he saw you there. Sitting on the floor, with a pen and paper. You looked up, stopped writing, and gave him a shy smile.

He approached you. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think someone’s here… I.. uh.. I can leave if -”

“No, it’s alright.” You smiled. “I was just finishing something up.”

“If you wouldn’t mind me asking, what are you finishing up?” He asked, sitting opposite you, considering your personal space.

“Oh.. uh… a story.”

“Really? I didn’t know you write!” He smiled. “I wanted to write a song today so uh I went here.” He paused. “Where do you publish your story?”

“I just keep it here.”

“May I read some parts?” Hoping he wasn’t being a pushover.

“Sorry. But uh, I’m not yet comfortable sharing my story.”

“Understandable.”

He continued talking about his songs that he composed recently (singing some parts to you) to make you a little less on your guard. He really wanted to break your barriers. And for him, it was working. He threw in a few funny jokes and puns which made you laugh. He shared his love for music with you. And even though you didn’t talk much, he felt that you were really listening.

“I don’t know I really like playing the bass more though-”

Your phone buzzed. “I’m sorry… I need to go home now.” You stood up. “See you.”

See you. Two words that made Calum hope that something good will happen between the two of you.

Chapter Two: FAITH

Calum developed a habit of going to the rooftop, hoping he might see you there. Each day, he grew expectant, but is crushed by the fact that you weren’t there.

This day, he was losing hope. Should I still go there, he thought. Was he going crazy? How can a girl like you affect him so much? He wondered.

He found himself going up the rooftop even though he knows that you will not be there. ‘See you’ was a lie, he said to himself.

He reached for the doorknob, thinking to himself that he is, indeed, going crazy.

I am going crazy, he thought. You were sitting on the floor, writing. You looked up and smiled at him. Now he’s imagining you being there.

“Hi, Calum.” You greeted him.

“H-hi.” He felt relieved. He approached you and sat on the opposite side, minding your personal space. “Haven’t seen you here in a while.” He broke the ice. “If it doesn’t bother you answering, what’s the story about?”

“It’s about a girl who can’t seem to find her place in this world.”

“Wow, that’s pretty deep.” And cliché, he wanted to add but considered not to because he might offend you. And besides you two aren’t that close enough. He might drive you away.

“I just can’t write this chapter properly.”

His heart fluttered, you are now sharing something with him. A secret you and Calum share, he thought. “Why?”

“I don’t know… I just.. I can’t see the purpose of my story anymore.”

His heart broke a little. “Don’t feel that way… how about adding a new character? Someone who’s there to support your main character? A new friend or something like that?”

“I guess… but I don’t know what kind of character should it be..”

“Do you.. do you want any help?”

“Oh.. uh, I appreciate your offer but I need to finish this on my own…”

“No worries! But you gotta promise that I’ll be the one of the few people to read the whole book, okay?”

You laughed. “Okay. I promise.”

“I really have faith in you. I’m rooting for you. I know you can finish your story.” Calum smiled. “And I’ll be your number one fan when you become a famous author!”

Faith. A word that you haven’t heard in a while. You felt refreshed. What Calum said gave you new ideas for your story.

Chapter Three: LOVE

He seldom sees you in the classroom anymore. Your elusiveness there did not bother him a lot, though. Everything was fine for him because he always catches you on the rooftop, writing your story.

“Hey!” He greeted you, sitting opposite you, minding your personal space. “You’ve been inspired now, huh?”

You nodded. “I think I found the answer.” You looked at him and smiled. “Thank you.”

He became proud. Thanks to him, you found inspiration. This is a start of something new, he thought. “Aww, shucks, it’s all you, y/n. I know you’re a great writer.”

You smiled. “Thank you so much.”

To Calum, seeing you smile and doing the thing that you love makes him so proud. To Calum, you’re already a winner. To him, you’re someone successful. And even though he could not tell you his feelings because it might be to soon for all that, he makes sure that he’s always there for you.

You could feel his love. You could tell how sincere he is whenever he says he believes in you. You’ve never felt anything like this. You’ve never expected that someone will notice you. And yet, here is Calum, proving you wrong.

Thanks to him, everything became clear.

“You know, before I met you, everything seemed useless. I felt hopeless. But thank you for loving me.”

His eyes widened. He did not know how to answer. “…. you knew?”

“Of course! I’m not as numb as you think I am.” You giggled.

And since that day, Calum looked forward going to the rooftop.

Chapter Four: LUCK

As soon as happiness filled Calum’s every day life, sadness came in. After that incident, you rarely visit the rooftop. He does not even see you in the classroom either. It’s as if you vanished.

How could he not even see you? Were you avoiding him on purpose?

Calum’s luck ran out.

“Hey, John, have you seen y/n?” He asked his seat mate before leaving.

“Who?”

“You know, y/n. Shy girl. Ice princess. Sits at the back.”

“We don’t have any classmate named y/n.” John looked confused. “I’m sure of it.”

“Huh? But…”

“Cal, I have a list of students in this class and there’s no y/n y/l/n.” John was the treasurer of the class so he’s certain about it. “Maybe she’s… well.. maybe that’s why…”

“Can you just tell me?” Calum said impatiently.

“Well, I sometimes see you looking at the back but there’s no one sitting there. And then there’s this one time I saw you talking just by yourself… but I assumed you were practicing for an audition of a play or something so I shrugged that off..”

“What? Are you sure??” Calum’s head was aching. If you weren’t real… if they can’t see you… “John, is there.. is there a ghost story you know about….”

Suddenly, it hit Calum. That is why his classmates were ignoring you. That is why no one’s talking to you. That is why you seemed invisible…

Because you are.

But why can he see you? Why him?

“Well, I heard that there was a girl who died on the rooftop a few years ago. They said that the girl loves writing some of her stories there.. but the girl had a heart attack while writing.. runs in her family…the janitor saw her lying on the floor with a pen and notebook beside her.”

Goosebumps. That was what Calum felt. “But you can’t remember her name?”

“Come to think of it, y/n is her name.”

“You’re not messing with me, right?”

“Of course not! Why would I make this up?” John looked at his phone. “Well, I better get going… I don’t wanna be late for my part-time job. See you.”

He remembered you with those last words John said. See you. Two words that made Calum question everything. He will never see you again.

He slowly walked up the stairs. Not knowing how to react if he sees you sitting on the floor at the rooftop.

He breathed deeply before opening the door. Chirping birds and the warmth of the sun welcomed him. He looked around, still no trace of you.

He felt defeated.

“When you said you didn’t see the purpose of your story anymore… you didn’t mean the story you’re writing, huh?” He said, talking to no one. “I still wish I could read the story that you were working on.”

He sighed and sat on the floor. “I’m still thankful I met you, though. I hope you’re doing fine wherever you are.” He smiled. “Look out for me, will you? I’ll miss talking to you.”

As he stood up, he noticed something growing out on the floor. He observed it. And to his great surprise, it was a four-leaf clover. He picked it and glanced around. “Seriously?” He giggled. “Thank you.”

They say that a four-leaf clover brings luck to anyone who finds it. And each leaf represents hope, faith, love and luck. For Calum, you are his four-leaf clover.

He just can’t do it anymore

Can’t pretend this isn’t the happiest he’s ever been

Can’t stare at himself in the mirror knowing he has to cover the marks with a disillusionment charm

The beautiful faded ones

The scratches that decorate his collarbone, the imprint of teeth on his throat

Or the tattoo of the moon that rests on his ribs

He’s so tired of having to pretend to be who he isn’t

Of looking his mother in the face

The permanent sneer etched on her lips

The kink in her eyebrow, the narrowing of her endless black eyes

‘I told them’

It’s quiet when it comes out

But it feels like he’s thrown off the weight that’s been sitting on his chest since he realized he was never going to be what she wanted him to be

And even though his eye is still stinging from where she branded him

Flexed her knuckles and didn’t even reach for her wand

Her eyes flaring an unreadable colour in Sirius’ mind

He doesn’t even flinch anymore

He’s so used to the pain

So familiar with the prickling of his skin and the dampness of his cheeks for days afterward

And he just can’t bring himself to care anymore

All it takes is walking through the door and seeing those golden curls to remind him that there’s something better out there

That people like the Potter’s exist with their endless kindness and overwhelming care

That there is strength in this world that makes his mother’s hatred feel so small inside him

That makes the look on his father’s face, the pure disappointment mean nothing

That makes him sure that even though he might never escape this life

Never fully rid himself of the dark hole in his chest that is his brother turning his cheek on him

That is the very venom they spit at him

Remus is the sun and the moon

Reminding him that it’s okay to rise and greet the day

While all the while you know the light of the moon will make everything feel cold inside you

And everyone else, well they’re his stars

‘Let’s go’

They were already standing so close

As soon as Sirius entered the room they had nearly collided in anticipation

Remus’ frame looming over him

And their hands so suddenly and tightly interlocked Sirius knows he’ll never float away again

‘Anywhere’

Remus’ eyes are so golden

Sirius could stare at them for hours

He has stared at them for hours

When they’re lying beside each other in Remus’ bed

And Remus is rambling about everything and anything

The trick he learned to brew Amortentia faster, the joke Lily made in Divination, the blush on Peter’s cheek when Mary had asked him to Hogsmeade half a second before he had bulked up to ask her

And the moonlight is making him glow

And in those moments Sirius can’t help but get lost

Can’t help but think that this is what he wants, this is exactly where he should always be

That if he gets nothing else from this life at least he gets this

‘Pads …’

‘Please Rem. We-we’ll go to London and get a flat and I’ll find a coffee shop where you can read for hours.’

Remus looks hesitant

And he can feel Remus’ muscles tightening as he grips Sirius’ hand

But he can’t stop himself from getting lost in the daydream of their life

‘And a book store where we can work and we can snog between the stacks. And we’ll have barely any furniture but merlin who needs it when I’ve got you?’

And he steps forward slightly so they’re touching now

Their chests brushing together

The tops of their jean clad thighs connecting

And Remus’ lips are just where Sirius’ nose is

But if he pushes himself up he knows he can catch them

It’s all he wants right now, to taste Remus on his tongue

Melt into the warmth of his abnormally hot skin

Count the freckles that look like flecks of paint dotting his shoulders

Forget this entire day, forget the throbbing over his eye, forget the hate

‘Sirius …’

He doesn’t want to hear what he knows he’s going to hear

Doesn’t want Remus to bring him back to reality

Doesn’t want him to remind him that they aren’t in a bubble when they’re together

That there is a world out there that would kill them for what they’ve done, for who they are

For what Sirius hopes they get to be someday

‘Our own kitchen where you can teach me to make those waffles your mum makes. And-and we can get a dog or something, you know? Me and you walking through every park in the city with it chasing squirrels.’

So he keeps talking

And rhyming off things he wants for himself, things he wants with Remus

Picturing a world that he’s always been afraid to want

But Remus has this crease in his forehead

This look of pain in his eyes that makes Sirius’ heart drop

‘Don’t you want that Re?’

And he’s trying to catch those amber eyes

Because they always make him feel lost

Lost in a place better than this

And he’s pressing himself closer just to have Remus dip his head

His gritted jaw turned away from Sirius

‘No’

It’s all Sirius needs to hear for his heart to completely shatter inside of him

And every curse he’d ever let come his way, every heartless flick of a wand

Every precaution he had taken against the skillful legilimency of his mother

Every brutal blow

It’s nothing in comparison to having your heart ripped from your chest

So he steps back

Trying not to let the hurt overwhelm him

Trying not to feel so dejected

He opens his hand trying to free himself from Remus’ fierce grip

The inside of his mouth tastes of copper from where he’s bitten down on his cheek too hard

His eyes tightly shut

He can handle his family, can handle his mother

Has taken the whip of her wand and the graceful way her tongue lashes out new ways to scar his skin

But he’s not entirely sure he can take this

He doesn’t want to see the look in Remus’ eye if he turns him away

Because now the world Sirius sees for them feels like nothing more than a dream

But the more he pulls the tighter Remus clings

And he can feel Remus trembling, the back of his mind swimming with concern

Questioning why Remus is acting this way

Only to be overpowered by the fierce fire lighting up inside him

The rage that has him itching to get out, to get away

He won’t be hurt like this, not today

‘Let me go Remus!’

But Remus doesn’t

Sirius tugs his arm forward again

But Remus has always been stronger than him, always been able to hold on longer than him

‘They don’t want me.’

It’s like a slap across Remus’ face to hear the brokenness of Sirius’ voice

To feel like he’s losing his own mind

Because he wants to say everything but his thoughts are clouded and his heart is sore

He’s angry at Sirius’ mother and angry at himself for not getting there sooner

‘You don’t want me.’

And then it’s like he’s been punched in the gut

And Remus wants to scream that it isn’t true

That he wants Sirius more than anything

But he can’t

‘Just let me go…’

Remus can hear the sobs breaking through Sirius’ chest

The tightening of his throat, the shaking of his fingers

And he forgets why he’s even bothering

This is Sirius, and if Sirius is anything he’s his friend first

So he pulls him back into him

Not wanting to be the cause of his pain

But Sirius’ chest collides with his so quickly he loses his balance and slams back into the bookshelf behind him

It doesn’t stop him from wrapping his arms around him to try and quell his shaking

From Sirius wrapping his arms around Remus

‘I want you Pads, of course I want you.’

And he can hear the sobs getting harder

Can feel Sirius trembling even more

And he knows he’s fragile right now

Knows his words just aren’t coming out right or in time or at all

But Remus is shaking too

Because this is huge, this is monumental, this is insane

He never thought it meant this much, that they meant this much

Not to Sirius

He never thought Sirius would ruin his future for him

Never thought Sirius could love him so magnanimously

‘I can’t let you do this.’

And Sirius lifts his head from the place it’s resting against Remus’ chest

His silver eyes riddled with confusion and tears

His handsome face a mess of red blotchy marks and damp cheeks and that bruise forming over his eye that makes Remus see nothing but black behind his eyelids

‘Your family, they’re a lot of things Sirius, but you can’t give it up. Can’t give up your future or any of that. Not for me. What would you do when I’m … when I’m sick? How would you live? No one trusts my kind, I couldn’t support that and I would hate myself for-‘

But there’s a finger over his lips

And his voice falls away

‘God, hit me straight on with you Moons. Have I ever told you that?’

This time it’s Remus’ turn to raise an eyebrow

‘Whoever’s up there pulling our strings, they knew exactly what they were

doing when they gave me you.’

Remus can feel the blush blooming across his cheeks

The tears forming in his eyes

‘I would give up all that dirty blood money, I’d give up my name to have you. To have a future with you.’

Remus can feel the tears spilling over now

Can feel Sirius’ hands so tightly gripping his back, pressing him as close as he can get

But his eyes are on his lips

And the beautiful words he’s never known he wanted to hear

That he wants to tattoo onto his skin, burn into his brain

That he wants to hear for the rest of this godforsaken life

‘I pray that one day you see how I see you.’

Remus grips Sirius’ shirt tighter

‘Siri …’

‘And one day I will make you believe you really are lovely.’

He’s trying to hold onto this moment, hold onto this Sirius

Trying to stay grounded in it because it’s incredible

Because all the air in his body has left

Because he doesn’t know what this feeling is but its bloody amazing

Here’s this man, this beautiful, beautiful man

And he’s known him most of his life by now

But somehow along the way he became his saving grace

He made him laugh

And gave a small, forgotten boy the only thing he’d ever wanted

Friendship

This last year was more than he could have ever bargained for

Has been worth the turmoil and the hatred and the loathing that encompasses his life

And as much as he hates the wolf inside himself, as much as he hates what Sirius’ family has done to him

It’s what brought them here

And with Sirius’ hands clutching him, with his eyes burning into his, he feels nothing but loved

‘Please Remus just-just keep trying to love me’

‘I’ll always love you.’

‘And I’ll keeping trying to save you.’

‘You know I need you.’

‘And no matter what they do to me I won’t ever let them take you down. I promise Remus. They will not cast you out like they’ll do to me. I won’t let them. I won’t ever let them.’

Remus leans his head down

His forehead resting against Sirius’

Sirius’ heartbeat so perfectly in time with his

‘We can do this. Together.’

Their lips brush

The tears falling away

‘Together.’
