Subtext. Carmy pays attention to Sydney as soon as she enters his view. He always has.

She's blurred in this shot, but watch Carmy. He doesn't even finish the second 'yeah' before his eyes land on her- he already notices that Sydney is here. She is dressed nicely, and he needs to focus on her.

Very subtle, but once Sydney turns around, the camera pans to the center and is focused shot when Sydney turns around- his perspective that once he gets her attention, his eyes are only for Sydney?

Let's skip when she says good morning- subtext- between the lines- the acting. Carmy has dreamy eyes, and words slow down as he gets a good look at Sydney- his second no is almost breathless- there's a pause before he gives her a compliment.

Carmy- I think we get all this body language from Sydney because we're in Carmy's point of view- he's paying attention to her monotone- thanks and her resignation as she takes off her bow.

We know this because of the look on his face when she asks him, "How about you? Did you answer?

He takes a moment to catch up to what she asked him, blinking as if he's coming back to the present moment.

His thoughts were somewhere else.

They cut this really fast so we dont see his expression had changed to one of openness when he tells her she looks nice- to a pondering frown as he's watching her remove her bow. He has been staring at her like that the entire time, feeling sad as she quickly takes off the items he had been noticing.

Subtext for me? I think he hopes she will explain why she is so dressed up. Perhaps he is thinking she was on a date? He knows she was out with someone.

Throughout the season, underneath everything being said and done- we're seeing that Carmy is still paying attention to Syd. Still focused on her (not the restaurant but her!) Even with the misdirection of Claire.

I will provide screenshots of this man's disappointment. They deliberately do not show his face change as he watches her take off what he noticed she was wearing; it’s a small reaction.

Marcus' words earlier in 3x03 about paying attention - he also says when someone pays attention- like really pays attention, it's something special. The subtext tells us what Carmy and Sydney have, always paying attention to each other - the message is that the relationship is special and we should be paying attention to this thing between them.

Today I have some hurt Carlos from a fic that I started from @paperstorm's Valentine's prompts from last year and I'm really trying to finish it this month🤞

“Okay, I think you’re allergic to bergamot since that was one of the last chocolates you tried. You're going to be okay.” TK repeats trying to reassure him.

Carlos just nods, taking a slightly wheezy breath, and TK wills the paramedics to get there faster. His fingers never leave Carlos’s pulse point on his wrist and he tracks his fiance’s breathing the whole time.

“Paramedics have arrived, sweetheart.” Grace calls over the speaker phone and TK jumps up.

“Thanks, Grace!” he calls then quickly presses his lips to Carlos’s temple with a whisper. “Gotta let them in. Keep breathing, baby.” Then he runs off to press the front door buzzer and slide open their front door, his socks skidding slightly on the concrete floor.

Lucanis is going by "Luca" in this undercover mission (pre-game).

I spun around, flipping the knife in my off hand into a position where I could strike with all the force of my turn.

Luca raised his empty hands in mock surrender, and I cursed, halting my strike and stepping forward and slightly off to the side from him to dissipate the momentum.

He stepped with me and caught the elbow of my knife hand. A smirk played over his face in the dim light, and I could feel the cool pressure from his leather gloves through the linen of my shirtsleeves. “Careful,” he said with a dark chuckle. “You’re still leaving yourself open.”

Adrenaline still soared through me, and I pushed him off even as I dropped the knife into my other hand so that I could sheathe it.

He allowed the movement, casually stepping back out of my space like he didn’t even feel the push, and let his arms fall to his sides. “Martalis is right, though. You do have good instincts.”

Luca’s skin carried the scent of the soap that I’d left in the bathing chamber, and his cheeks and neck were freshly shaved. My skin flushed as I realized that Luca would have found the tub that I’d filled and hauled some of the water to the kitchen to boil. He would have needed to undress, unwrapping himself layer by vulnerable layer, always with a blade in reach. Knowing his scrupulous appearance, he would have unbuttoned each piece of clothing and carefully folded it to the side. He would have bared more and more skin, slick with the sweat of hauling the water and working the woodfire cookstove, only to finally sink into the hot, wet heat of the oak-scented tub with a sigh. I had terrible instincts, actually.

“I don’t know how you think this is going to make me less jumpy,” I said, exasperated and allowing it into my tone. It was better than needing to deal with the twin urges to rush forward to strangle him but also crush my body to his. I could tell he was watching where my gaze fell as it flicked across his body, my confused brain automatically calculating the best ways to get him off balance in one way or another. I turned away with an effort, showing him my back.

The other assassin would understand, probably. The banked heat of fear and a fight denied did strange things to a body. And the mind. And the urgent desire to fist two hands into the choppy waves of his chin length hair and lick up the anterior scalene of his neck, from his collarbone to the hinge of his jaw. It was wiser not to keep track of such things.

“There were no blades,” he said nonchalantly, as if that was a reasonable thing to say. “Have you found anything interesting?”

A Working Relationship

I gotta be honest, the past week or so really has me questioning whether I'm actually excited for season two of Wednesday or not. I haven't really been involved with the fandom for the past six months or so, but ever since I received my Monster High Wednesday doll, found my Poe Cup cosplay, and all these teasers started coming out, I've been wanting to get involved again, but at this point I'm failing to see the benefits of doing such a thing.

I'm usually never one to allow people to put me off things but this fandom is just even more of a cesspool than it was almost two years ago, I swear.

Tell me why I'm seeing people apologising for liking Tyler? STILL? Yes, I may be a Tyler fan myself but who honestly cares? Like whatever character you like and have done with it. One thing that's also bugging me is how childish the whole censoring characters names and ship names thing is. Where's the need? You're just being dramatic for literally no reason at all. Just put the name, no one is really that bothered.

And also as much as I encourage people to interact and reblog my posts, the obvious does NOT need stating. We know Wednesday and Enid are besties, it does not need repeating, it's literally canon. You're just adding to these shipping wars and frankly, I don't want to see that in my notifications especially from some Wylers... Over the past two years, I've been very fortunate to be in with some great people and not be in a position where I've been involved in or witnessed any ship drama, so why am I honestly hearing all this shit about Wyler people being toxic and doxxing people, etc.? Like where has that come from? Can we just stick to being chill, please? It's bad enough there's so much pandering, politics and really bad parasocial behaviour going on already.

I've quite honestly been sitting on this post for a couple of days now but this is honestly annoying as hell. It's just a goofy lil show, just allow people to enjoy it. Most importantly, ALLOW YOURSELF to enjoy it.

Tally still isn't quite back to 100% yet, but she's recovered a lot in general. Every time she does one of her normal habits that she'd stopped doing while she was sick, my heart just squeezes with gratefulness. Stuff like her yowling like I died after I go to bed, her climbing onto my lap while I'm sitting on the toilet and/or watching me from on top of her litter box, her jumping onto furniture, her getting up in my face and sniffing my breath as I slowly blow air at her, her trying to eat the plants, her PLAYING.... and of course, her eating.

I also discovered the coat rack toppled over onto the couch after getting out of bed today - surely her doing. Didn't break anything so im just glad she's back to being at least some semblance of a chaos demon, even if she's not totally recovered yet.

It's the little things, sometimes. All her little habits, some harmless and some annoying, that make up who she is and her presence in my life. When all of these stop, so she's just a lump on the couch, barely eating and barely getting up... it was unsettling. And worrisome.

But I've got my baby back. She's still not super high energy, but she's got enough to feel like herself again. And I'm so, so grateful.

The thing that pushed Four into outright concern was the fairy. He had no idea how a minish had managed to either catch or coax a fairy into a bottle and sneak it into Twilight’s bag but Twilight’s near panic at the discovery made four decide he needed to find a minish portal and have a chat with the fae.

Scarlet Witch: Fun little one-off adventure with Daredevil.

Avengers Assemble: FUN! Orlando does fun team-ups. Kinda wish he was allowed this kinda energy during the Krakoa era.

The Hunger and The Dusk: Excellent issue, not much more to say.
