Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #1

Jed MacKay has been writing Moon Knight excellently for the past year or so and it's been delightful. He's made me a fan of the character.

This series is a kind of reboot, not of canon but of station. Moon Knight has recently come back to his city and is taking over his old territory, protecting the travelers of the night. A detective is on his case, looking for a crack in his armor, acting as a direct antagonist to his actions against crime. The main twist of this issue being, she's an addict who's working for the first villain.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this is going. The art is, as always, absolutely wonderful, expressive with just enough detail to get a place setting.

I'm just excited for the first Jake and Steven screentime since Marc got revived so I'm gonna be hollering for a bit

Jake looking out for Marc's relationships!! Giving relationship advice for Tigra bc Marc is too stubborn!!

And mourning the Mission alongside Marc, it was their friend!! The haunted house was a haunted home!!!

Also?? Steven calling Marc on his shit

But then Marc using business talk right back at him??

Marc using Steven's language to get his point across? Interest?? Coming after his business????

Steven and Jake love Marc a lot they're worried about him!!

And honestly?? Marc you're not helping.

This issue was a fascinating parallel to the last time Marc and his alters had a conversation while Marc was fighting, with seemingly opposite results. I hope we get to see more of Steven and Jake in upcoming issues.

Listen most of this issue was Marc not listening to his headmates but the ways that they did connect was very good.

Also getting back to Marc's roots as a boxer as yet another classic callback is exciting.
