as much as i don’t like calypso at all, epic makes me not fully hate her? like i usually despise every version of her but epic’s just feels a little different

idk how to explain it at all help 😞 that whole last bit of love in paradise kinda made me not hate her as much as i tend to, the way she was so desperately trying to convince ody not to pull an anticlea (she ended up making it worse but still 😭🙏)

u can hear her genuine concern thinking that the only person who’s ever shown up on her island, who she’s cursed to obsessively fall in love with, is abt to off himself just like that, it makes me remember that she’s been on that island by herself for YEARS. does she still remember and miss her father? the father whom she was so loyal to that she was banished and cursed? maybe she misses her sisters as well? was she known as one of the pleiades or hyades?

obvi i don’t support her actions against odysseus at all, not sorry for loving you makes me real uncomfy, i just like looking at her whole character instead of just boiling her down to “SHE TOUCHED HIM UNCONSENSUALLY !!!”

Christianity ate when it came to its world building. I find all the different ranks of angels so fascinating, the cherubim especially. And reading Paradise Lost, although not a canonical text in any way, gives such perspective on the fall of Lucifer. A once beautiful Cherub, now a rebel against heaven's gate. I wonder how lonely it was, falling down through infinite chaos, until he finally fell apon the dark sea were his misery would slowly begin.
