The fact that scum villain is the book that gets picked on for being problematic is so funny on a fundamental level because Shen Yuan is quite literally the outside realistic beacon of morality. that's his whole character he has 21st century morals which gives him a reader insert (literally) insight into the events of the book .. like he was already condemning literally everything people say the book romanticizes , it's right there in the text , he's infodumping it to you every 2 pages

rewatching the denoument of Episode 9 (the conclusion of the Dafan Mountain mini arc) for reasons and my new favorite piece of CQL Timeline Nonsense is that the English subtitles state repeatedly that the Dancing Fairy came to life "twenty years ago." Since Wen Qing and Wen Ning are both present for this event and look about 8 and 5 respectively in the flashbacks, this means that they are both older than Nie Mingjue probably is. Literally WHAT is happening here.

Leon didn"t know what was happening. Everyone around him was getting older. Just not him. Everyone around him was dying and changing. Just not him.

He was waiting for this. He was really looking forward to this. Maybe it will be calmer on the other side. Maybe on the other side the two people he was used to hating each other so much would call each other names. Maybe on the other side he could be again...idk a happy teenager in Camelot

But no. It didn't come. He didn't know why. He didn't age. He wasn't dying. He tried but to no avail. Years passed, a year, decades and then centuries. Despite everything, he went to college and set up his own psychology practice. Helping people always gave him satisfaction. He tried the police or the army but ..it was too much for his nerves. Especially after all the wars he took part in.
