This is NOT an anti-Caitlyn post, but it's sort of comical how she can't even take her own advice. In season 1 when Ekko wanted to use the hextech gemstone to go against Silco, Caitlyn wisely told him that killing Silco wouldn't accomplish anything constructive (and as we see, she was right.) But when the shoe is on the other foot and it's her people on the chopping block...

Our lesbian couple, Caitlyn and Vi gets…sex in a dingy jail cell. The same jail one of their sister’s was just rotting in. Why couldn’t Caitlyn take Vi back to her house? It’s just not romantic at all. It’s very borderline fetishistic, which I thought we were trying to AVOID with wlw? And their shippers are celebrating this and attacking anyone who wants to point out that it’s horrendous place and timing. Vi is an enforcer waaaahhhh

She's there to restore peace and order for ZAUN in the pursuit of her sister. By joining Piltover, she has access to their technology and their resources to track her sister down (also HER GAUNTLETS?? HELLOOO).

She's not just protecting Piltover from Jinx here. Zaun lost their leader and Caitlyn and Vi know he was running the damn place. What could happen to these people (outside of Jinx possibly continuing to terrorize Piltover) is unknown. They need someone to speak for them (and that's Piltover's Finest). They can't leave Zaun alone the way the Council planned to do before they got nuked. Now more than ever, someone needed to step the fuck up. And it has to be them.

So no, Vi didn't betray anyone. She's doing this for Zaun. For her sister. For herself. For Caitlyn. For everyone. She's not going be an enforcer the way the system was built before her. Things will be different this time because they are changing the system together.

im forever going to be sad that piltover's finest was handled the way it was

not even "oh caitlyn was evil" because I'm HERE for a good evil character, on the condition she gets a good redemption

which i feel could have been done beautifully if arcane got a third season

literally just shifting the timeline so cait stayed evil through season 2, had some moment at the end of season 2 to make her realize things have been taken WAY to far

and the spent season 3 trying to make up for it and redeeming herself and rebuilding the lost trust with vi

i do love their relationship, and im happy they got a mostly happy ending, i just wish it was a season later, cait/vi's ending would have felt so much more deserved

(not even getting me started on how vi's happy ending *should* have been her family being back together, but that's a different post)

did anyone else notice in arcane s2 finale that Vi was planning to die with Vander? Jinx knew and sacrificed herself because ALL she ever wanted was to help her sister. Jinx could have left, but she didn't. She chose Vi. She put her sister's life above hers. What happened to Vander was jinx's mistake? Jinx knew she was the only one to put him down. She knew vi burdened herself about everything that happened. In the end, jinx took the weight off of her sister's shoulders. The ending wasn't the happiest, but jinx knew exactly what she was doing. I think she knew the outcome.

Jinx told her not to worry about her and that she would end the cycle. To me, this was such a big leap for jinx.

And yes, of course Vi still cared about her sister. Vi has always cared. It makes me so mad hearing that Vi didn't. Like come on.

I absolutely love that powder sacrificed herself for her sister. I don't think anyone realizes the depths of powder's actions. If it helps to pretend that she never really died, then that's great, but for me, that final act was wonderful storytelling. They are not broken. In the end, they are still sisters who just wanted the best for each other.
