It's the enemies to lovers kind of thing that John is the protag and Ultimate Dirk is the villain for HS2/Beyond Canon. Plus it's another consolation prize for those who used to ship JohnDave. Just like how Roxy was this for JohnRose fans. What is with the Alpha Kids being consolation prizes for the Beta? That must suck to be second best. Prince of Fresh Air is also a cool name for them.
