“It wouldn’t even be hard,” Marinette argued. “He isn’t really a bat so he had to find some other way to stop me.”

“I’m not saying it can’t be done,” Kon said. “I’m saying you can’t do it.”

“That’s where you're wrong. I could easily bike through Gotham without getting caught by Batman.”

“Oh really? Prove it. You have to take the bridge into Gotham, loop through the city, and get to Arkham Island before Batman or any of his affiliates catch you.”

“Done. Are you up for a race?”

She watched him freeze for a moment. Batman was very specific about who was allowed in his city and magic users and supers were at the top of that list.

“Definitely.”

His jaw set firmly. He couldn’t turn down the challenge but she was certain he didn’t actually want to do it. But if she weren’t backing down then neither would he.

They turned their Harleys around and lined up at the starting line. It was dark and traffic had thinned out as the time passed so they had a clear shot. They revved their engines and then shot across the bridge.

It was an even race across the bridge and there were no concerns about flying mammals until they were actually in Gotham. Once they crossed over though, they could already see the glowing bat lighting up the inky dark sky.

She thought he might actually have an advantage over her. She had been to Gotham twice. But it was in the daylight and she had been riding in the car, not navigating herself. Kon definitely had a better idea of where he was going. He got ahead of her quickly. He turned to make the loop around the city center and she was right behind him but he got some distance while she came into the roadblocks and had to slow down.

She could still see him ahead and he made the turn but she heard screeching as he braked. She moved past the turn and looked. He ended up turning nearly into the Batmobile. He was behind her again quickly, having gotten away from the car but it wasn’t long after before it became apparent they had a tail.

She could see Wayne Enterprises and the Clocktower ahead so she took a hard left through the diamond district and ended up passing by Robinson Park. She wasn’t very certain exactly where she was going but they needed more distance from the Bat. No one would win if they were both caught first. She veered off again and got nervous as the road ahead was long and dark. She pressed on and got some speed until she found a turn.

Kon turned too. They were neck and neck weaving through what looked like alleys between sketchy warehouses. She could hear the water nearby and something ringing a distance from the shore but she couldn’t see either. If Kon figured out where they were first, he would definitely be able to win.

She nodded one direction, away from the sound of the Batmobile. He was still attempting pursuit. He probably thought they were involved in one of the shady businesses. Kon pushed the gas and got ahead of her on the turn. She waited until she was far enough ahead before she accelerated herself and headed straight for the next bridge.

She wasn’t even sure if he knew she was there yet. It was definitely not their planned route. The docks were not a place they intended to be and she found herself right in crime alley when she crossed the river. A couple cars attempted to box her in. She took off her helmet and asked for directions, pretending she had no clue what they were doing. When one stepped a bit closer and moved to turn off her bike, she flung it out at him and sped off.

She blazed away from crime alley and soon started seeing signs for the botanical gardens. She took the moment to put her helmet back on before continuing around. She heard another motor in the distance and suspected it was the competition. She turned away from in and in the direction of the Arkham bridge. She was looking behind and barely noticed until after that the parked car was the batmobile until the lights turned on.

She grunted an expletive into her helmet and pushed faster. She was nearly to the turn. She just had to take it a little too fast and then it was a straight shot.

She launched herself into the turn and nearly swiped Kon who was already on the street. He must have taken an earlier turn but he stayed upright and she needed to keep going to win. He was there behind her but there was no way for him to win now. They just needed to both stay ahead of the car that was chasing them down.

She was laser focused on the finish line. She suspected that Kon had the same laser focus but for passing her, which she wouldn’t allow. She was too close. She crossed the marker and then pulled off and waited a second more for Kon to join her.

She jumped up and tore off her helmet, whooping at her victory. Kon caught her around the middle and spun her around. She was gonna rub her victory in his face but he put a hand to her face and she froze. His thumb brushed against her lower lip just before he leaned down. She surged forward to meet him in the kiss. She didn’t know if it was the adrenaline from the race or if he was also interested in her but she didn’t care right now.

They stayed together until there was a shuffle of boots and someone clearing his throat. She could see Batman’s boots in the gap between them when they pulled apart. They had some explaining to do.

So punk is pretty anti-authoritarian, loud, fast, and contains a lot of anger, anger at how the world is. It can also be very compassionate to the downtrodden an those the system fails

Jason Todd, the second Robin, the Red Hood. The man was born to be punk.

Danny just works as a punk. His villains range from the government to a Billionaire to a ghost cop. It makes more sense than not for his experiences to have turned him in that direction, and let's face it one Sam Mason would have helped, even if punk and goth are different

So we have one dead punk boy living in a shitty apartment in Gotham, and we have another dead punk boy moving into a shitty apartment in Gotham

They're neighbors(I'd say roommates for the meme but Jay needs the added privacy)

So now we have two punks with messed up sleep schedules living next door to each other. They clearly vibe, they hang out, go to each other's apartments and Jason practically force feeds Danny a healthy meal that has enough preservatives in it to give Ra's a run for his money

Then Jason got careless

Jason, after accidentally mentioning the outlaws multiple times during a phone call, now has to deal with the fact that Danny thinks it's the band he's in. It's fine, all he has to do is play it cool, roll with it and it'll be no big deal

being unable to shut his mouth, he actually digs himself deeper. Now, Danny doesn't just want to see them play, he wants to join, and Jason has made the mistake of saying he needs to ask the band first, only to call Roy who is a little shit and goes "Yeah he can join our band."
