ive been sight impaired since i was eight, so have both of my siblings. and my dad. prescription lenses for everyone. except my mother. and as she grows older, she's begun to need reading glasses. and y'all. everyone in this house is watching in horror at the way she treats spectacles.

just picked up my year's supply yesterday and the first pair I opened is super blurry / not powerful on the left eye at all 🙃

even tried taking it out and cleaning and putting it back in :(

freakin love my new glasses omg. for reference, i've been wearing the same pair since 2015, which really isn't good. I'm lucky my eyesight hasn't degraded since then. get your eyes checked people

i got contacts for the first time and the other day i got them in and out first try and today i haven't been able to get them out and i started having a meltdown about it. would really appreciate it if my body wouldn't just like. suddenly decide that easy things I've mastered are impossible now

If you ever feel incompetent at what you do, just think about this optician I talked to today who tried to argue with me that a balance lens and a plano lens are the same thing

Imagine going to school for years to learn about glasses and then being confused over why someone might prefer a lens with a prescription over one without a prescription

called lenscrafters about my glasses and they were like "yeah we usually have people wear them for 2-3 days to get used to them" bestie everything is blurry if i look through the bottom third of the lens

had an eye doctor appointment since the one last year~~

my vision hasn't changed I think~~ is what they said.

insurance let me get new frames and lenses this year~~ so now I'll have 2 of the same prescription to wear~~

found some frames that match the pastel aesthetic i have going on, and the lens tint I have will work really well with them~~~

in bad news I've got a cataract in my good eye now~~~ as one of the nurses or someone helping me with glasses said "welcome to adulthood" so I guess that just happens huh?

if they ever wanted to operate on it; it'll be a last resort, so that hopefully nothing makes me lose the only vision that I have~~

hopefully it's not a fast growing one and messes with my vision really bad~~ :(

anxiety didn't get to me cause I finally took an "as needed" propranolol before the appointment~~~ and things went fine~~~
