This involves creating a story codex for world mechanics, characters, magic system, etc., a digital scene outline, and a timeline/time-braid with Dan Wells' seven-point story structure applied to main plot, subplots, internal arc, antagonist + secondary characters, and backstory. #prep_toberchallenge Days 11-15; Fuel, Writing Books, Working title, week 2 check-in, and Cast your MC I know I missed some days, but that's because college has been kicking my ass with essays, and then life stuff got in the way. . Day 11— Pringle (or any kind of chip), water, tea, hot chocolate, fruit, or even a sandwich or two. Just finding anything around the house. . Day 12—I have no writing books. The only things I have are resources from other writers with plotting and planning, and that's it. . Day 13—My working title is the "Second Ascension" Series. Book one shall be named "Beginning Again". . Day 14—I have not had the time to work on any writing, but I'm hoping to this week, as long as I can manage my time well. . Day 15—Since this is a Supernatural Fanfiction, you have the main 3 leads (Sam, Dean, and Castiel), but for this fic, Castiel and my OC, Jaime Howard, are the mains. What better time to post this than on Day 22 of the #prep_toberchallenge which is all about world building. A few weeks ago I sat down to doodle a map. I have no idea where it came from or what it'll turn into, this is of course only my first rough draft of the map. ---- However of course maps are only part of world building. I'm still playing around with political structures, time period influences, and trade routes. I saw a quote once, I can't remember who said it🙈, but it was that a world shouldn't be built for one person. While I'm still planning on having a multiple P.O.V story, I think this is so incredibly important. You want to follow a story through a world and that can't happen if the world only exists for the story you're reading. ---- Anyone else out there writing? Or prepping for NaNo? "Goals" is today's #prep_toberchallenge. This year so many of my goals happened. I have a good job I feel comfortable staying in for as long as I need. I married the man of my dreams, my best friend, in a beautiful temple and had a fun wedding. I'm into my last semester of my associates degree after changing my major only once. I survived YSA ward. I dyed my hair. 😂 The goals I'm working on now are finishing #nanowrimo2018 and graduating with a high GPA. You can probably tell from my #spotifyplaylist that my current WIP is a romance 😍 ⁣ Kaleb & Aimi's story came to me during my trip to Hawaii in July 2017 for a friend's wedding. Of course, I had been working on a different novel at the time, but Kaleb & Aimi insisted their story be told first. I just couldn't resist a second chance love found in the midst of harsh circumstances & provocative relationships. I guess my only writing ritual is that I prefer to start writing before noon. Though if I'm working morning shift, then I'll write in the evening. 📑 My ideal day would be: get up around 8am, drink tea and write diary, read a chapter of morning book, then go stretch, wash up, get dressed and start to write (around 9:30). Write a few hours, make breakfast, write a few hours more, make tea, do smth else for a while (a walk, read a book) and then make dinner and write or research in the evening. 📑 But sometimes I go for a walk in the morning, sometimes I sleep late. Sometimes I write at night.
