Bandai Premium Japan Announces “Chara Timer Tamagotchi” Tamagotchi Timer
We love a new accessory, and it looks like Bandai Japan is broadening the Tamagotchi range once again. Bandai Premium has just listed a new accessory for the Tamagotchi brand, the “Chara Timer Tamagotchi”. This product has been created with Charanics, a consumer electronics brand developed by Bandai Namco Group’s CCP Co., Ltd.
The three button oversized Tamagotchi alarm clock promises to help you manage your time. Featuring a simple design that looks like the Tamagotchi Original from 1996. The buttons feature the same sounds as the Tamagotchi Original that you know and love, so it feels just like you’re playing with a Tamagotchi. The “A” button is to set the minutes, “B” to set the seconds, and lastly the “C” button to start/stop. It’s important to note that although this looks like a Tamagotchi, you cannot raise a Tamagotchi on this device.
The Chara Timer Tamagotchi features a built-in stand, and magnet, so you can stand it up on your desk or even hang it on your refrigerator. In regards to dimensions we’re looking at 64 mm W, 23 mm D, and 80 mm H. The timer is made out of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, polycarbonate, and silicon materials.
Even the packaging is adorable! It looks like a larger version of the Tamagotchi Original packaging from 1996! You are begin placing your orders as they are listed on Premium Bandai Japan! Preorders are available now until March 14th, 2023, with a release set for March 2023. Pricing is set at 2,500¥ including tax.

Well, at least Rowlet's fellow bird will let it be a hat.
The promo images for tomorrow's Horizons episode! Seems like it'll mainly be filler, but we'll probably get some fun antics still.
Koraidon and Miraidon will be coming to Bandai's Premium Gashapon series and have movable legs and rotating wheels respectively. These'll be available in Japan in Sept.
And we have the in-person Worlds distribution for this year announced: Water-Tera Steenee!

Some small insights on things I commonly saw in Japan - nerd edition:
Not one day passed that I didn’t see at least one person with some sort of Kirby charm or keychain or sticker or somesuch on their person or backpacks. Not even in “nerdy” places, this extends to Everywhere.
You’ve likely heard this already, but Akihabara as “weeb mecca” is pretty old news and not the case anymore. You can definitely find some kickass stores there (my favorites were Mandarake and Super Potato!), but otherwise it’s pretty Just Below Surface Level mainstream nerd culture shops now, that is to say, everything is Spy x Family (dear god Anya is fucking everywhere), Kimetsu no Yaiba, One Piece, Quintuplets, Genshin, FGO, Uma Musume, Vtubers, some Bocchi, and Kaguya-sama. Mind you, I don’t dislike most of these things, but it’s literally all that is there, alongside gunpla stuff.
Den Den Town and Nakano Broadway were way fucking better for nerdy stuff. Props to Rinka for the heads up.
Sunshine City was also pretty good for nerdy stuff but with a way more focused scope: You have a Pokemon Center + Cafe there, One Piece store, Bandai Cross Store, the works.
Holy fuck they were not exaggerating, gachapon is absolutely everywhere. The Cross Store even had “Luxury Gacha” or “Premium Gacha”, can’t remember what the exact word was, that were in some cases 1500 yen a pop (for a pretty cool fucking figure though, not gonna lie).
There is gachapon of absolutely fucking anything in the world that you can think of. No, even more than what you’re currently thinking of. Stray musical notes, tools like hammers, bozosoku jackets, Nintama Rantaro, that one meme construction cat, miniature nail clippers, literally such a massive amount of sundry variety. I was humbled.
I’m kind of fucking sick of Anya Spy x Family. Literally everywhere.
I didn’t know there were stores where people can rent a little cube and sell their figures and other nerdy stuff like that. That’s such a cool concept, a little nerd-to-nerd market. Imagine you’re trading in TF2 except instead of giving someone keys for their hat, you give someone a big titty One Piece character, I don’t know the name of any, sorry, as a trade for a big titty Vtuber.
Among the stuff you could see occasionally in stores? Sakamoto Days. That made me so fucking happy.
I met 4 honest to god monks in the wild and I really wish I was fluent in Japanese, I wanted to talk to them so so so bad.
Even older nerds do NOT know VOTOMS. Every old school nerd I met in nerd bars and other such places knew Dunbine and Kinnikuman but I met literally no one that knew VOTOMS. They pulled out their phone, every time, looked it up, looked at me with that certified Japanese polite but obviously flabbergasted expression with a tinge of lemon and horror, and asked me, “how do YOU know of this?? it’s SO OLD” and I did not have the heart to tell them a 4chan dude mailed me VHS tapes with the show subbed back in 1937.

Well it looks like Digimon virtual pets are disappearing from Amazon.
I could see this coming the other day when I noticed that the prices were crazy low... Seems they're selling out, and not being restocked. To nobody's surprised, Bandai is giving up on Digimon outside of Japan again. The X3 is certainly not happening at this point.
I almost wonder if the fans hadn't made such a huge stink about the roster mixup on the X2, would this be happening? It didn't seem like a fuckup so bad that they needed to recall their stock... I think anyone who isn't an adult baby could live with the rosters being reversed, or just shell swap them if they're that bothered.
I don't want to go full blown pessimist on this but it's a little difficult not to. The Ghost Game dub seems unlikely now. In fact I don't see anything Digimon related happening outside of Japan for many years unless it has even more Digimon Adventure nostalga. Maybe a video game if they don't have to dub the voice acting.
But it looks like Digimon fans will only be able to get virtual pets through Premium Bandai and proxies in the future.
It really is the end of an era, it was nice while this resurgence of Digimon lasted.
To be clear, I don't think this means "Digimon is a dead brand now" or "we'll never see another V-Pet again", I just think nothing's getting localized and they're going to continue appealing to nostalgia instead of making new v-pets.

I was reading an article from Unseen Japan about the controversy last year where a little boy in Japan was unable to cosplay as Cure Wing because the "transformation corner" at this one PreCure event didn't have a Cure Wing costume. The outcry eventually led to the companies announcing that such events would provide a costume, and that Bandai would be selling a Cure Wing costume on their Premium Bandai service.
I'm doing some research on a topic I plan on uploading soon, so I read the article a bit more in-depth, and I found this one section very interesting.
This was not the first time this happened.
Back in 2017, for "KiraPre," Cure Chocolat's costume was also sold solely through the Premium Bandai service. The reason why this is so important for both Wing and Chocolat is that, Premium Bandai is a service where you can pre-order a certain product for a limited time only, in contrast to how these costumes are usually sold, on the shelves of stores like Toys R Us in Japan.
This basically means that, a significantly less amount of Cure Wing and Cure Chocolat costumes were made and sold through a more restrictive market. Given the controversy, it feels like Bandai was just reluctant to make these costumes in the first place for some reason.
What's even wilder is that, several years before, during the airing of "Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!," Cure Rouge didn't get an updated cosplay costume alongside her peers, in stores. From what the article implies, it was never sold at all, not even through a service like Premium Bandai.
So this has happened three times now: Cure Rouge, Cure Chocolat, and Cure Wing. What do those three characters have in common? In the case of Cure Rouge and Cure Chocolat, they're both boyish girls, and Cure Wing is outright a boy Pretty Cure. This has led me to believe that Bandai just does not like boyish/actual boy characters in Pretty Cure, and in the case of Cure Wing, there's even more evidence to back that up, as he still never got a "PreCure Style" doll like the other HiroPre characters.
PreCure is a franchise that is managed by several different companies, the two most notable being Toei and Bandai. Toei has its fair share of problems, but it seems like Bandai is the more socially regressive one, given how they've treated these characters in merchandising. In that same Unseen Japan article, the author mentions how Toei had to plead with Bandai to allow Cure Soleil from StarPre, the first and only brown/dark-skinned Pretty Cure, to exist. And even so, the merchandise Bandai produced generally did not properly reflect her skin tone, making her orange or even outright whitewashing her. Cure Chocolat is also the most masc girl we've gotten as a Pretty Cure and really the last one since, which I also feel like is tied to Bandai's views.
To step away from PreCure for a bit, the Kamen Rider franchise, which Bandai also releases merch for, also has a similar problem. For "Kamen Rider Revice," one of the main characters, Kamen Rider Jeanne, is operated by a woman. Yet her transformation device toy was limited to being sold on Premium Bandai rather than at retail like the rest of her male peers. Or even in "Kamen Rider Gotchard," where the secondary main character, Kamen Rider Majade, another woman, also only had her transformation device limited to Premium Bandai. From these examples it shows that Bandai believes PreCure should only appeal to (girly) girls and Kamen Rider should only appeal to boys, and that they're digging their heels in with those gender norms.
There's a highly likely chance that the upcoming Wonderful PreCure will have another boy Cure appear midseason. If that does happen, will Bandai also treat him the same way they treated Cure Wing? They seriously need to do better, and people need to hold their feet to the fire.

-Behavior / properties of moves will be adjusted for some characters:
In version 1.03, continuing from the previous version 1.02, focus was placed on correcting unintended move behavior.
Work on an update focused on battle system balance is underway, but we are undertaking this with utmost caution by carefully evaluating user play data collected from around the world. Version 1.04 is scheduled for release in May following the conclusion of EVO Japan 2024.
Version 1.04 will primarily focus on buffing characters who haven’t been able to fully showcase their uniqueness. However, adjustments to certain moves that exhibit significant strength will also be made.
Scope of Update
The application of the update data will result in the following impact on each mode and feature.
“Downloaded Replays,” “My Replay & Tips”: Replay data from before the update will be unavailable for playback.
“Online Replay”: Replay data from before the update will be deleted.
“Super Ghost Battle,” “Ghost Match”: Character behavior and move properties will reflect that of the post-update state.

My September 2024 toy haul got here a few days ago. I finally got around to taking a few crappy photos. These are all just so that my old-fart-brain, can quickly access images of the toys I already own. In case I forget. I tend to purchase doubles of some, to unbox one. Some prize figures, I'll just forget if I already own, or which version I own. So, this makes it quick access for me. It's also become a ritual for me now. (:
From left to right: Sega Hatsune Miku Series Qyurume Mini Figure "Kagamine Rin & Kagamine Len" Kagamine Len (Game-prize) Non-Scale Figure; MegaHouse/BanDai-Namco LookUp NARUTO Shippuden Itachi Uchiha Anbu Black Ops ver. Complete Figure Non-Scale; Sega TV Anime "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a" Chokonose Premium Figure "9S" (Game-prize) Non-Scale Figure;Top: Capcom VOXENATION Resident Evil Chris Redfield & Leon S. Kennedy Mini Plush; Square Enix NieR:Automata FORM-ISM 9S (YoRHa No.9 Type S) Non-Scale Figure; Square Enix NieR:Automata FORM-ISM 9S (YoRHa No.9 Type S) -Goggles OFF Ver. Non-Scale Figure; Bottom: Kamio Japan NARUTO Shippuden A4 Single Clear File Sasuke Uchiha & Itachi Uchiha Paint KamiAni TOUCH; Kamio Japan NARUTO Shippuden Acrylic Stand Sasuke Uchiha Paint KamiAni TOUCH.
I hope I can get a second 9s Chokonose figure, and also Kaito's version of the adorable Qyurume figures -- I got a second one of Len this time, to unbox one. I'm never lucky to see the listing live for Kaito, he's always sold out by the time I notice they have him in stock. T__T;; Shipping was a freaking torment this time, it was about the same as my last box, however, that was a lubricious decision by AA, almost as though they loved having customers spend all their money on shipping costs, for no reason. *sigh* This time the size of the box was a bit more "justified," but there was still room for about two to three more prize figure boxes in there. Similar to 9s Chokonose's box size. Last time, I could have ordered about all seven FFVIIR Bring Arts figures additionally to the one Cloud I got -- I wouldn't have been able to afford all of them, but I could have easily fitted those figures in there, plus all the stuff I got in August, including the one B.A. Cloud I did get then!

although the first three had originally been only available via Bandai Premium’s JP website (which is impossible to navigate unless you’re in Japan, or have a VPN), all 7 Vongola Box & Ring sets, including the new 4 (Storm, Sun, Rain and Lightning) and the first 3 being re-opened to preorders (Sky, Cloud and Mist) have been put up on AmiAmi’s website and preorders will open June 22, 00:00 JST. they cost ¥4,950 and release in December this yea. the price would be partly due to the fact that when you open the box with the ring, it has a speaker to play voice lines from the characters!
please see THIS POST for links and whatnot to preorder them, as external links keep posts from showing in the tags

US Pre-orders announced for S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Type: Tridoron and Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Kuuga Rising Pegasus
Shortly after their Japanese releases were announced, Team Rider have revealed that the latest S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider releases - the 15th anniversary re-release of Drive Type: Tridoron Tire Kamimazerl set and Shinkocchou Seihou Kuuga Rising Pegasus - are to see releases on Premium Bandai USA.
These announcements are notable for a couple of reasons -- for one, up until now the only Premium Bandai USA releases for S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider were limited to those from Geats, Black Sun and Shin Kamen Rider. With these, this seemingly demonstrates every Premium Bandai release for S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider will be brought over to America. Additionally, Type: Tridoron's release in Japan is exclusive to lottery sales; but the Premium Bandai USA version is simply a normal purchase, making it far easier to obtain.
S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Type: Tridoron Tire Kamimazerl set (SHF 15th Anniversary Version) and Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Kuuga Rising Pegasus Form release on Premium Bandai USA in January 2024 for $98.00 and $75.00 each, with pre-orders to begin June 23rd 12AM PDT.
