I tried getting multiple different lighting situations, but unfortunately none are great. If we're getting some sunlight tomorrow maybe I'll post another one in natural light.

Now, eagle (hah) eyed viewers might notice that there are two different shades of pink in this banner. This is definitely on purpose and not cause I ran out of the first one and bought a wrong one to stock up and then only noticed when it was too late.

You might also notice that wings don't look like weaving. That is cause they aren't. While the egg and the top part honestly went amazingly well on the round loom, the wings unfortunately bend into the wrong direction for the most part so it looked garbage when I tried to weave it the way I do usually. I then tried to weave it on top of the background, using the weft as another warp, but didn't look great either. Then I got the idea to maybe use the fact that I branched out in textile arts recently and just try something completely different. I ended up using a backstitch basically, but through the string itself to make it stick in one line. Honestly I'm kinda proud of that thing, cause it did come out pretty good. (Except that the one top line somehow got too long which meant I had to staunch the right wing so it wouldn't look too off kilter but at that point it would have been ludicrous to try and fix it so I did my best to work around it.)

Tbh I was too lazy to look up proper rim techniques but hey it works, so whatever.

The next project will take a while for sure, because I have about 5 million Christmas ducks to crochet, so we'll see when I get back to it.

I’m sorry am I alone? I agree with joe for once, Travis on stage was tacky and I hated it. I’m so over Taylor’s career and life being so intertwined with her relationship I think it diminishes her talent and I really don’t like how “swifties” are more obsessed with her personal life than her actual music. I wish she would not have brought Travis on stage. Just my opinion

you’re definitely not alone, like most things tayvis I also found Travis onstage rlly tacky, even as an ex-theatre kid I rlly don’t like it. But maybe it’s a matter of opinion or personality, like maybe more extroverted people think it’s cute? Idk tho

it rlly does feel like a step back esp since she’s talked about trying to separate her art from her muses/dating life for most of the 2010s. But ig in this new era of taylor (post folkmore) she doesn’t seem to care as much about the quality of her work (do NOT get me started on the tayvis love songs they make me want to rip my hair out). I think she’s just basking in the joy of fans worshipping her, having her be the centre of attention in practically everything, helping her break record after record esp since she thought she’d be out of the height of her success a while back. It just feels like she cares more about being Miss Americana with her all-American boyfriend (questionable traits not sold separately) than the art.

imo adding travis into the picture has made the art she creates about her life more superficial. It’s not to say you can’t create good art without misery or despair but I would take paper rings over so high school any day of the week. I think the only reason ppl hype up the tayvis songs is cuz of the context of all those videos of them together like at football games etc. On the other hand, I feel like her songs of her muses are much stronger and can stand on their own without supporting context. Maybe she doesn’t care abt writing good songs cuz she knows swifties will eat them up regardless since they’re rooting for them so much.

with the whole travis on stage/ karma is the guy on the chiefs it feels as tho she’s trying rlly hard to incorporate travis into Taylor Swift the brand (does she not see how badly this would backfire if they break up??). It might be cuz she feels her music alone isn’t enough to captivate the general public enough to help her continue being this successful for an extended period of time

I’m following the “Pietro the Clown crochet tutorial” video on YouTube by Pixeled Peach, I’ll try and link it here later. The original pattern was coloured with red blue and yellow but because I am existing on one brand of spotlight wool that has 2 shades of black and no colours other than green or orange I went greyscale. Also, that adds to the Pierrot clown look, which is my favourite kind
