The 25th of Tammuz is the yahrzeit of Aharon Berechiah ben Moshe ben Nechemiah of Modena. An Italian Kabbalist of the Lurianic tradition. He is best known for his liturgical writings, especially a guide to the work of the chevre kadisha or Jewish burial society regarding prayers for the sick and dying written at the request of the Jews of Mantua.

When he was 87 years old, Rabbi Aharon was a arrested by the Catholic Inquisition of Modena on charges of possessing books that had been banned by the Pope. He pointed out the absurdity of allowing Jewish settlement and then attempting to ban Jewish religious texts.

He died three years later, on the 25th of Tammuz 5399, at the age of 90.

I can't help but compare Megatron and Optimus' relationship to ancient literature and mythology. Their story (and by extension the story of the cybertronian war) reads like an ancient Greek tragedy. Or a heartbreaking Chinese poem. To be locked in a devastating war in which the two leaders are evenly matched, who knew each other in the past, who still know each other so intimately that their very existence relies on the other. Doomed to fight for millions of years, and to know that they will probably die together and be intertwined for all of eternity. Whether they are friends, enemies, lovers- they exist alongside one another. Intrinsically linked yet rarely ever together. Both so guarded but somehow know the deepest parts of their sparks in a way no one else could even reach. Their story carved in stone, reflected in art, and written in the stars.

I caught a sore throat again. So updates will be slow for probably a week. I wish I had the energy to keep drawing, but I just don't right now.

My family has it too. And we all were supposed to run a wedding this upcoming Saturday for one of my sisters. So, prayers for us being well enough would be really, really appreciated!
