The Japanese Teapot Soup (Dobinmushi) is soup in a teapot with half a lime on the cover which I had squeezed into the pot. I am not an expert on Japanese soup but my guess is Kombu Dashi (昆布だし) with bonito flakes. While three of us enjoyed it, only me and my other colleague had second (pot).

There are also vegetables tempura on the menu but I only have eyes on the Ebi Tempura (Prawn Tempura). As quite a few dishes were served together, I spent some time letting my camera feast on the gourmets so by the time I am ready to eat it, it had gone soft and cold.

But this Fried Octopus Tentacles (Tako Karaage) was delicious. Crispy and savoury but not too chewy to the bite. Dip it with a little of the mayo for added flavours. My go to choice is this snack rather than the tougher fried squid tentacles.

You got to try this Japanese Fried Chicken Wing (Spicy Tebasaki). The golden brown batter with sesame seeds is so crunchy and fragrant. There is barely any heat though it had spicy in its name but it sure is juicy inside. Of course, we had to have a second order to sate the craving.

Temaki
Sushi was originally meant as fast food in Japan.  It was convenient, something to grab and go. The temaki, or hand roll, is a variation on that.  The epitome of something to hold in your hand and wolf down with your beverage of choice in hand. Seems that Japanese food can be found in the most unlikely of places nowadays.  Case in point being Temaki, located deep in the Brixton Market – a place…

so im making an AU that like, changes canon QUITEEE A BITTT and its gonna be a bit more disturbing i guess. Bare bones of it is basically everybody survived after Giorno defeated the boss (Fugo still doesn't join them) Abbachio and Bruno moved to France to start over while the rest stay in Italy. Fugo kept contact through emails and texts with the gang but he grows further away from them. yet he seems to like Narancia more with the lack of contact and gains a newly born obsession.
I guess you never know what you had until you lost it.
I CALL IT.... Sicknezz AU!! NEHEHEJEHEH

Enjoy the crispy delight of prawn tempura with this easy-to-follow recipe. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these prawns make for a delightful appetizer or main course.
Ingredients: 12 large prawns, peeled and deveined. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup cornstarch. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1 teaspoon salt. 1 egg. 1 cup ice-cold water. Oil for frying. Soy sauce and/or tempura dipping sauce, for serving.
Instructions: In a bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, lightly beat the egg, then add ice-cold water and mix well. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350F 175C. Dip each prawn into the batter, coating it completely. Carefully place the battered prawns into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the prawns from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with soy sauce and/or tempura dipping sauce.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 6 minutes

Brought mum to try the Japanese foods at Tokyo Shokudo (東京食堂) located in Northpoint City. This restaurant chain is halal certified so all the pork ingredients had been replaced with chicken. Browsing through the menu, I picked their recommended tempura rice dish while I chose ramen for mum.

The Signature Tendon (特製天丼) priced at S$13.90++ came piled with an assortment of fried battered prawn, fish, vegetables and a sheet of nori or seaweed. As I lifted out some of the crispy tempura items to get to the rice below, there it is, a hidden fried egg still warm with oozing egg yolk! Mixed the yolk into the rice and proceeded to devour the donburi.

The portion in mum’s Chicken Cha Shu Yuzu Ramen (鶏チャーシューラーメン) seems underwhelming considering it cost the same S$13.90++. Unfortunately, mum didn’t take to the ramen with modern twist. She found the yuzu and ramen combination flavours strange so she didn’t finish her meal. :(

my dream Christmas Eve is genuinely cooking all the Polish wigilia classic dishes and some experimental ones for select friends and family, I have a spouse and children. We’re gathered around the piano singing our hearts out. Everyone brought something small to do a lucky dip and the children have some proper gifts because I’ve never known presents any other time and I’m not letting that tradition go soon. Everyone is joyful and silly

Because we're leaving for a different city at 14:30 and then doing several things in that city, it's likely we won't be back home until 17:30 at the earliest which I calculate means a higher than average chance of takeout
