So for trunk or treat 2023 in Potosi WI I decided to paint freehanded artwork based on some of my favorite Star Wars creatures. I spent HOURS on this, lots of cussing while cutting the animals out bc cardboard and I do not get along! I had so much fun doing this. Next yr I have ideas on how to make it better.
Potosi Tennyson Lions Club sponsored it and provided the candy. I went to help with the dance we were putting on after rain forced us to close down early.

Bolivia accident claims at least 31 lives
A devastating collision between a truck and a bus in southern Bolivia has left at least 31 people dead and 22 others injured, according to Reuters.
The accident occurred early Monday morning on a highway between Oruro and Potosí, two major cities in the Bolivian highlands.
The truck reportedly collided with the bus, forcing it off the road and causing it to roll approximately 500 meters (1,640 feet) down a ravine. Police spokesperson Limbert Choque confirmed the death toll, which included both men and women, and noted that the injured were being treated at nearby hospitals.
The driver of the truck has been arrested, with authorities investigating the cause of the accident. The crash site was quickly attended to by ambulances and emergency vehicles, with rescue teams working to assist survivors and recover the deceased.
Bolivian President Luis Arce expressed his condolences to the victims’ families on social media, calling for a thorough investigation into the incident.
This unfortunate event must be investigated to establish responsibilities. We send our most sincere condolences to the bereaved families, wishing them the necessary strength to face these difficult times.
The tragedy comes just days after another fatal accident in the same region, where more than three dozen people were killed in a collision between two buses. These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges of road safety in Bolivia, particularly in the highland areas where winding roads and difficult terrain can increase the risk of accidents.

"Potosi produced more than three-quarters of the world’s silver between its discovery and the end of the 1700s. The amount of precious metal coming out of that mountain was enough to briefly make Spain the richest and most powerful nation in the world, then to throw its economy into inflationary turmoil. Potosi’s silver traveled the globe — much of it eventually settled in China, as European aristocrats used Potosi silver to purchase goods from Asia."

Now, in Bolivia, there is a Ministry of Decolonisation. They themselves don’t understand, much less do the people understand, what it really is to decolonise. To remove the ‘chip’ from memory, everything they brought – in this case, the Spanish or the Incas – to impose a single culture, a single thought; to ‘implant’ a culture, a way of thinking, a way of being. We are in a globalised world, [but] it is pluricultural in Bolivia. I believe in Palestine there are also different cultures, different customs. As I said at the beginning, didn’t I, heritage is always the identity of a country, of a people that it conserves.
The changes that time and technology bring cannot erase overnight what existed before. It is good to be structured, schematic, so that all authorities on duty are concerned to keep alive the identity, the culture, the heritage. [But] on the other hand, we cannot reject technology, the changes that happen in time. Technology brings good things. The world is instantly everywhere, an exchange of knowledge. It would also be good to use these means. We cannot be on the sidelines, at the margins of globalisation. Whether we want to or not, we have to be there. Thank you for allowing us to arrive ‘live and direct’ to Palestine, although not physically. – Padre Efrain
