Disclaimer;; All fictional !! My interpretation of what I think the ash tribe would be like.
pt 1.
Summary: After the death of his wife and eldest child, Jake takes his three remaining children and heads to the northern side of Pandora, the isolated territory of the fire clan, the tribe who can bring people back from the dead.
When he meets the princess of the Ash Tribe, he must now choose between opening his heart and letting someone fix him, or to have the opportunity to seek out his two family members he still wishes to see everyday.
Tumblr media
As (Y/N) dropped the family off to their new home, she bid the family a goodbye before catching up with her brothers in their home.
Fawn was seething with anger, upset that he was tasked to train new comers on the fourth to last day of his training, he was wanting this day to go up to the mountains and pick his stone from the great volcano, but now he is here, awaiting for the children to come down so the three of them could get the equipment for their travels.
"Dear brother, why is your tone so sour." (Y/N) questioned as she rounded the corner of their home, her fingers dragging across the material of their shared resting area before leaning against the frame of the entrance, her hands crossed over one another as her tail wrapped around her calf.
Ay'u was next to Fawn helping him pick out some feathers and material to wrap around his spear for their day, a chuckle leaving his lips when Fawn glared at their eldest sister. (Y/N) was six cycles older than Fawn and seven cycles older than Ay'u, but the way they both acted you would assume they were her elders.
"You know why I am upset, (Y/N). This day was promised to me two moons ago, now it will be pushed back again." Fawn said with annoyance. (Y/N) just chuckled as she pushed herself off the wall, heading over to mess his hair up before pinching his cheeks. "My dear little brother, always so inpatient and so eager to be a great Olo'eyktan." She said before getting swatted in return.
"Father is always so strict about allowing people to come to our village, dismissing sanctuary and suddenly he allows this?" Fawn could only dryly chuckle, turning to give the elder his full attention now. "When I become the next Olo'eyktan, only true warriors will be allowed here." He said, pounding a fist against his chest.
(Y/N) could only roll her eyes as she moved back up to her feet. "Don't let father hear you, you know how he is when it comes to respect. Besides, he did announce that was Toruk Makto, a great warrior. You are still in training—" She said before suddenly dodging a rock being thrown at her head, a laugh leaving her lips as she took her leave to the area she told the kids to meet her at. The brothers following in line.
...
The first stop the siblings took the other three was their villagers maker, he was in charge of making all of their homes, spears, equipment and other items needed for living here.
Ay'u was the first to enter the hut, having been close with the owners son, he immediately went into the back to find him as the owner emerged from where he was at.
"Welcome! You must be our new guests?" He said as he stared at Lo'ak, Kiri and Tuk, all three who were unsure what to say. (Y/N) stepped in, greeting the owner before answering. "Yes, these are our new guests. Father says to grant them stillsuits." She said, her voice gentle, but affirmative.
The older Na'vi nodded, he bent down to Tuks level before offering a hand out to her. "Do you want to come first? We will be right there." He said pointing to a area that was across from where they were. Tuk was hesitant, but agreed after Kiri said she would come with.
Lo'ak who had been quiet the whole time, tapped (Y/N) on the shoulder to get her attention. Turning around with wide eyes, she smiled softly. "I do not think I got your name." She said. "Lo'ak." He said quickly before getting to his question. "What is a stillsuit and do we have to wear them often."
He placed a hand on his neck where his necklace was, (Y/N) noticed but didn't say anything. "Not always, since you all are forest people your body will not be able to withsand the dry heat. The stillsuit regulates the moisture and produces hydration for you." She said, proud she could remember something that wasn't in her training.
"Don't worry though, you can wear your necklace still." She said. Lo'ak nodded and went silent, his hand placed down at his side as he softly clenched his fist once more.
Ay'u emerged from the back with his friend, Tasem, who immediately shook all of the Sullys kids hands. This making Tuk laugh loudly as the more he shook her hand, the more she lightly shaked.
"This is Tasem, he is a gatherer of our village." (Y/N) said to Lo'ak as Tasem and her greeted one another. Lo'ak greeted him back but stayed to himself, Tasem looked too much like his brother.
Kiri and Tuk finally finished, having come back over to the siblings as Lo'ak went up next. Standing near the Na'vi, Lo'ak hadn't noticed he went to remove the necklace to get the stillsuit on him, but when he did he let out a loud. "No!" stepping back.
Everyone turned to look at what happened, Kiri immediately going over to Lo'ak and placing a hand on his back. "Do we need the stillsuits now?" She said. (Y/N) just shook her head.
Bidding the owner a goodbye, the six of them now headed over to a area close by to where they landed. The tension somewhat there.
...
As the children all followed Fawn who told them they would be introduced to some of their creatures they ride, Fawn stood in front of an entrance to what looked like a forest before he made a few yips; all of them going up in one octave each time.
As they heard rustling from the bushes, some of their creatures began to emerge and circle around the group. "These are Dragon Moose. If you want to live here, you have to learn to ride." Fawn said as he motioned towards the animals.
Kiri was the first to let out a small gasp, the creatures in front of her were something she never seen before.
The dragon moose was one of their third largest animals they had on their island. Its large structure being so big that Tuk would need help getting on. The top of their head had two curvy horns that were grey and others black, the mane on their neck was black and the indicator with the name Dragon in it came from them having ears that resembled bat wings.
Tuk was placed on one of the babies that had came out and happily skipped over to her, she was next to (Y/N) who had offered to show her how to mount it and laughed when they both kept falling over.
Kiri and Lo'ak stayed close by one another, but still getting on their own Dragon Moose. Ay'u helped Lo'ak, sensing he needed a more gentle approach as he pulled the queue back for the other. "When you make the bond with a dragon moose, you will feel an almost burning sensation for a second. It is very hot. Inside of their body is a burning flame." Ay'u said as if it was the normal thing in the world.
"Burning?" He questioned. Ay'u nodded, he wasn't used to people asking about the anatomy of the creature. "Yes, the more you trust your moose, the hotter the flame burns. Like I said, the flame lasts for a second and you won't notice it a lot." Lo'ak took in everything he said before connecting the queue, softly hissing at the burn.
"When you make the bond with an Ikran, you feel their trust and breath. With a dragon moose, feel their thoughts, feel the bond within you. The dragon moose is a very smart creature, so it knows where to go without you thinking, but for now, tell him where to go." Ay'u wasn't meant to be the next Olo'eyktan, but he sure did like teaching.
Lo'ak nodded, almost mastering riding the moose right away as he directed for him to go slowly, not wanting him to go too fast and fall off. The children all cheered, applauding him.
...
A bit off in the distance near the more extreme animals stood Jake with Äoa and two of his best warriors. Eyta and Malik. Holding down a Mongoose Lizard, their fourth largest creature on the islands, but one of the fastest and hard to maintain.
"Mongoose is a warriors mount." Äoa had told Jake over countless of times, the creature struggling to free himself as Jake got ontop of it, wrapping the material around his hand to hold on.
"Nah," Jake took a deep breath, he needed to prove himself wrong once. One more time that he could do something right. "This one."
Äoa gave one more look at Jake, offering him a last chance to get off, but Jake stood on his ground. Äoa took a step back, but gave Jake a few final words. "Remember, the mongoose is a very fast creature. Once we let go, you must command him right away. Going up a tree, hold on tight." He said.
Jake tightened the lead he had on the mount before nodding, he took in his words before he was released.
Immediately it went down hill from there, as the mongoose took a very sharp left turn, Jake flew off in the opposite direction, a burn on his knuckles as the lead came on done. Behind him the mongoose let out what seemed to be a laugh and disappeared.
His ears flattened as Äoas' men laughed behind him, this being another challenge he needed to overcome. Standing up, he brushed the dirt off of his legs before letting out a whistle, he wanted to go again.
...
After nighttime had fallen over the village, Jake counted to make sure the three of his children had arrived. "Alright, so how was your day?" He asked them.
It was hard, raising three kids on your own and not having a clue what to do alone, he tried his hardest. Days like this he wished he took the bullet first.
Lo'ak could sense the tension and awkwardness before he answered. "I mastered riding the dragon moose." He said, he would occasionally glance over to his right where Neteyam would be before looking back up. A bad habit he needed to get out of now.
Jake could only smile as he knew what the other was doing, he placed a proud hand on his back. "That's wonderful. Kiri, what about you?"
Kiri knew her dad was trying his best, so she also replied. "The stillsuits we got were cool. They regulate moisture from our body to hydrate us." She said, making sure she got the words down from when (Y/N) explained it to them.
Jake made a mental note to ask Äoa about that. "Tuk?"
All three of them looked at the youngest one of them, a soft gasp leaving their lips when they noticed she was crying to herself. "I miss mom and nete." She said. Jake softly gripped her hand as he leaned in to kiss her head, he missed them too.
The room fell silence, none of them talked about what happened and none of them tried to understand it, but it was hard mentioning them.
Just outside the hut came (Y/N) with some of food, having not seen them at dinner, she took it upon herself to deliver it.
Peeking her head inside, she waved at the elder before handing them the food. Her breath hitching in her throat as she didn't realize their height difference, but she didn't pay no mind.
"Here. This is for your family." She said.
Jake took them before passing the food out to his family, moving back to the entrance he thanked the girl.
"Of course, have a good night Toru—" She got cut off.
"Jake." He said, the title of Toruk Makto being dead. "My name, you can call me Jake."
She softly chuckled before nodding her head, "Have a good night, Jake."

A idea that I have for a Star Wars fic.
It has been five years since the Galactic Empire rose to power. Five years since you were taken in by Drax the Aruetyc, a disgraced Mandalorian who betrayed his people by saving you. You remember nothing of your life since Drax found you, only remembering your name. He calls you Echoy'la, claiming that you are searching for answers to your lost past. You don't expect to find any answers, but life is filled with twists and turns. Everything changes when you go to Bracca to follow a lead. Your journey begins with train crash, and the clash of lightsabers.
Mando'a Translations:
Echoy'la: searching, mourning, lost
Aruetyc: traitorous

in internet posts it is easy to cut them out of your life. they are hurting you! they aren't listening to you!
they held your hair back. they lent you lipstick. they held your hand at the train station and got you home safe. they rounded on your bully, got loud, said get fucked, spitting-mad in your defense.
they also cut the hair off again. told you that you should really think twice before wearing something like that. took you for granted. took your insecurities and threw them in your face again.
you know logically it should be easy. all the internet advice comments always read it will feel better. like an equation - if a person is rotten, you just remove them. you pull the tooth that's hurting.
but it was never a big flare-up moment. you don't live in a sitcom. they never tried to take your boyfriend or steal from your apartment. they showed up to birthdays and they wrote songs about you and bring you water without you asking. once you found out they carry an emergency inhaler for you, even though you haven't had an asthma attack in years - just in case.
where is the line? people fuck up. sometimes they fuck up badly. sometimes people have raw personalities, like a powerline, and being around them is dangerous. addicting. sometimes they can't help themselves, but you know they're trying. sometimes they are just rough-around-the-edges. sometimes they don't even realize how they sounded when they said that. sometimes it's just - you've both loved each other for so long now, the way this thing hurts goes back to the root.
and that's the fucked up part. you have pushed your fingers against the sweetheart of memory. things these days are electric, tense, harrowing. they didn't used to be. there were a lot of good days in there. sometimes you want to just close your eyes and say can this be over yet? do we still need to be fighting?
doing that would give up any chance you get of getting an apology, but you don't always know that you need an apology, you love them. once they flaked on your birthday party. once they told you to get over it, people are always dying. they also let you crash on their couch for a week after the breakup, handfeeding you when you were so sad you couldn't eat. they are also judgmental about everything, occasionally react to banal statements with an attitude that is weird and fiery. they also love you like a lighthouse sometimes, so strong they cut the storm like lightning.
but the problem is that you might be storm. you might be the thing that needs breaking. what if you are two forces who are desperately, horribly drawn to each other, shaped by the other person's passions, and both good for each other and bad in equal measure.
what if you're both just people, and you're no saint neither.
just cut them off! swallowing the saltwater, you catch yourself in the mirror. you've been shaking more than usual. there's an ache in you that is oblique, loud, impossible to soothe. is this what it looks like? when life is "easier"?
your mouth will always have a hole, is the thing, if you remove the tooth.

Dp x dc AU - If the Internation Space Station orbits the Earth 16 times a day, then so does the Watchtower.
Danny’s on track to move out of his parent’s house and move to Gotham for college (He swears that Sam bribed the board to let him in- and she wasn’t even going to that university!) but the dorms don’t open for another three days and he cannot wait to escape. Seeing his parents try to perfect yet another weapon to use against him while he changed out the ecto filters on the portal was too much. He’s completely over the idea of staying when he already has everything packed and ready to go.
The solution? Take all his boxes into his haunt in the Ghost Zone, leave them there and then spend some time in camping in space. He’s already explored the Infinite Realms enough to be bored of it for a minute (not to mention he wants to avoid getting more ‘favors’ to do from Clockwork) and hell, he just wants to see some stars.
He grabs his tent, a sleeping bag and all the food and things he could need and brings it into the atmosphere with him. Keeping it all tethered to him, Danny stays in a fixed position above Gotham (Cause that’s where he’s going next, duh) and treats himself to some quality Me-time.
Only problem is that several times a day he has to make himself intangible while he lets satellites and things pass through. Easy enough and honestly pretty interesting to observe as a wannabe engineering student.
He doesn’t know when exactly it happened the first time- but it turns out the Heroes of Earth all congregated in a satelite office building? It was bigger than the ISS! What the heck!?
Going intangible but not invisible, the JL spot Danny and are incredibly confused how an ‘Alien’ teen just happens to appear in their meeting rooms disappearing at the rate (slowly but surely) of the Watchtower moving through space. Was that camping gear? How was he roasting a marshmallow? Did propane camping stoves even work in space??
16 times a day they get the opportunity to ask Danny a few questions. He mostly ignores them or gives them joke answers. Eventually Martian Manhunter phases through the Watchtower to join him.
They talk about how hard transition periods in life can be and having strained relationships with family. J’ohn returns to the watchtower on its next cycle and reports that the kid is just fine, being an adult is just a hard thing to do.

Disclaimer;; All fictional !! My interpretation of what I think the ash tribe would be like.
pt 1. | pt 2.
AN;; Thank you to everyone who had liked this story so far! 🥹 I am/was super nervous posting on tumblr because it’s brand new to me. If you guys want, I have more chapters on wattpad. My @ is iinyuka ! I update there first.
Jake couldn't sleep that night, he couldn't tell if he was sleep deprived or if he was generally not tired. He tossed and turned as quietly as he could on the floor of their new home.
He glanced up to the ceiling of his new home, it wasn't the same, everything was different and changing, he hated change. Turning his head to the side, he looked at his kids who were sound asleep and wondered if they had nightmares about everything as well.
As he sat up, he moved to leave the entrance of his home needing some fresh air, but he was met with a giant fire in the center of the ground. Some children were sitting around it as the storyteller of the village spoke about a made up story to help the kids asleep and occupied.
Walking down the spiraling pathway, he moved closer to the fire and sat down, a kind smile on his face as some of the children from the village all curiously looked at him. It was like deja vu again when he first arrived to the Omaticaya years ago.
"...when the great dragon flew over the village of Tipani, the villagers all danced and cheered as war was over." The story teller said, moving his body dramatically as the children all laughed. Some falling asleep as what seemed to be teenaged Na'vis taking care of them.
"Happiness is simple."
As parents came to collect their children, thanking the teens for watching them, the crowd began to get smaller and smaller, leaving only Jake to the fire as he bid a goodbye to the storyteller who left for the night.
(Y/N) was up as well, she had trouble sleeping because her brothers were snoring loudly, so she walked over to the fire and sat down as well, completely unaware that across from her and through the flames was Jake.
Jake moved his head to the side to see around the flame better, eyes meeting (Y/N) as she let a warm smile come across her face and move to sit next to the elder. "How are you and your family liking our village?" She asked as she was sititng down.
"It is welcoming, I am surprised though. The rumors and stories of this village were different." Jake admitted, he was told that the village of the skeletor tribe had a deadly vibe to it, it made him wonder if that was true and they were just hiding it.
"Well good. My father and mother like to have people guessing about us, it keeps away any traitors." It was like an effect of her words because in the distance at a very far ways out, but he could hear it well, there was a scream and then silence. "What is the matter by the way." (Y/N) had stuck her hands out to warm them up this time.
Jake could see her wrists were covered in a beautiful purple wrap that complimented her grey skin, the tips of fingers seemed to have been dipped in black ash that only the distal phalanx was stained. "What do you mean?" He said as he looked back at the fire, his eyes burning as he stared intensely.
"Well, usually people who are up this late are either gatheres for our village and I know you are not one. So that means you must not be able to sleep, is there a reason why?" She was good and she knew it, she was good at picking apart someone and not caring how the over perceived it.
Jake learned one thing from his time on earth and being here, never open up too early. "Just tired from the travel, we did travel for 10 days, (Y/N)." There it was, that tone she knew he had.
All (Y/N) could do was stand up before chuckling. "My apologies, Jake. Have a good night." And with that, he was left alone once more.
...
The next morning came by and the children all left their father to sleep in. Tuk was the first one out as she moved down the pathway to find (Y/N) and Ay'u, both of which promised to take them near the water today.
Kiri had stopped (Y/N) privately and asked if there was a way a cloth could be placed over the entrance of their home so Jake could rest better. (Y/N) nodded and sent one of the makers to their home and said it would be done in a matter of time.
Arriving at the dock where a giant border was sent in place around the outskirts of the village, (Y/N) bent down to the water before drawing a small pattern in the water as she leaned back and waited. Lo'ak and Kiri had also taken the opportunity to lean over to see before their eyes widened.
Coming up from the water was a furry creature floating on its back, the creature was round with furry ears, a black nose and little, black eyes. Four little legs, but you could never tell because the creature always stayed in the water.
"Koalaotter." Ay'u said, leaning down to scoop up one of them who allowed it, both nuzzling each other. "They are one of the most pure creatures we have here, we like to think they are our passed family members or friends coming back." (Y/N) said as she laughed seeing many follow Kiri around.
Lo'ak had leaned down farther away from everyone, his eyes having found two koalaotter, a mom and a child. Both of them having been swimming together peacefully, the baby laying on her stomach as her hands were wrapped around its back.
No one could hear and he wouldn't admit it, but he did say hello to his mom and brother right there.
...
Bringing them back to the grounds of their village, Lo'ak finally felt more comfortable enough to talk and joke with the group, occasionally getting silent, but it was improving.
Ay'u and (Y/N) liked to think they had an upperhand in being the chiefs children, they managed to score some of the food that was being made for Fawns celebration in advance and pass them out to everyone, sitting down in the middle of the village near a fire, the five of them started to chat and ease their worries.
"Yes, I'm telling you! Ay'u used to run around the village pretending to be one of the dragon moose growing up. He had this weird idea he was one of them!" (Y/N) said laughing with everyone but Ay'u, who just rolled his eyes.
"What about you all? Can you tell us about your village?" Ay'u said, placing a few extra pieces of his food onto Tuks.
"We lived in a big tree!" Tuk said loudly causing Lo'ak to jump and spill some of the food, the rest of them laughed.
"Here, have mine." (Y/N) said placing the rest of hers in his hands, he happily took it and chowed it down fast.
"So," Lo'ak said after a few moments of them eating. "What is the ceremony for? I am assuming a ceremony is happening since the village is being decorated."
Ay'u who had been rubbing out his tail had perked up, a smile on his face as he loved the ceremonies. "Yes! Our spirit siblings are migrating back home in a few days! Then a month or two after, Fawn will have his ceremony and we hold a feast for him, but we keep the pieces up until it gets closer to his time, then we switch it out." Ay'u said before (Y/N) chimed in.
"I will say though, the ceremony is very.." she trailed off trying to find the right word, it was a rite of passage that whoever was next in line to be the Olo'eyktan would pick someone from their village to sacrifice, sometimes the warriors would find people who committed crimes or act of treasons, that being a forced sacrifice but still a sacrifice nonetheless. "daunting more or else." She said.
Kiri got the idea and Lo'ak tried to understand, but he didn't press it further and went back to finishing up his food.
As a comfortable silence fell over them, the five of them watched the fire dance around them, occasionally Ay'u would gently blow into the flames to make a little pattern for Tuk to keep her attention to it.
...
It was about to hit eclipse and the warriors had arrived back from their hunt, Fawn having led the hunt on their mongoose and at the end of it was surprisingly Jake. As they got closer, (Y/N) and Ay'u greeted Fawn who returned it, the set of siblings behind them did it as well.
Helping Fawn down, Ay'u eagerly asked about their hunt as many of their possessions past by, at least three months worth of food was there. Jake came over to where everyone was at, scooping Tuk in his arms.
"I didn't know you left, dad." Lo' ak said, gifting him a hug as Kiri did as well. Glad he returned safely. "Äoa said I should get practice, I left not too long after you all left." Jake said.
His attention was brought to his left at the eldest daughter of Äoa who was busy checking her brother for bruises and cuts, occasionally smacking the back of his head when he didn't sit still.
He liked to think she was the only one who understood him, even if they talked briefly.

Remember: The burning sensation is part of the process.
#Mouthwashing#blood#body horror#Emphasizing here that this is in reference to a media and character and not a cry for help on my end.#Mouthwashing is one of those games that tickles my brain and checks all the boxes for my niche interests -#-but it wasn't something that got the silly comic part in my cortex firing up. My analysis brain is eating well though!#What said...It is impossible for me to see this scene and not say out loud: “Me in the middle of my work day".#While there is a lot more going on with curly I personally resonated a lot with his struggles with burnout.#Burnout feels like mouthwash to me. That you keep rinsing out your mouth trying to get rid of the rotting smell#but it's just surface level solutions. The real cure requires something far more significant to actually make a difference.#The job 'is hard' and 'everyone struggles'. It's part of the process right? You're tired? Anxious? Depressed? Us too! Chin up!#Actually I resonated with a lot of things within Curly (this is a curly positive space - he's not perfect. He's just human).#One thing being his desire to see the good in people and believe in their potential.#Because here's the thing. Some people truly do just need someone in their corner who stands by them so they can grow and improve.#And some people will take advantage of your kindness. You focus so much on their humanity while you stop being a person to them.#The horrifically toxic relationship persists because Curly tries to see the bigger picture and believes in the good within.#Anyone who has lived through constantly trying to reframe the hurt as something else knows-#-just how many excuses your brain will make to avoid cognitive dissonance. It's human psychology.#Jimmy sucks so bad. But we the audience have the privilege of not having years of baggage associating him in our minds as 'friend'.

i’ll find you again in every universe. let us be a little more honest, let us have a little more time.
#vashwood#vash the stampede#nicholas d wolfwood#trigun#despite it all though badlands rumble is like. the only universe where we get wolfwood thinking vash died first... and i think that means a#lot to their relationship and how it may bloom if there was more to badlands rumble considering vash literally saw wolfwood carrying a piece#of vash after his supposed death. u know! despite the short time they were together vash still meant so much to wolfwood that he couldn't#just move on or forget him in anyway. needed to keep a piece of him for himself and the rest of his days. but ofc vash lives and wolfwood#was like ill beat ur fucking ass into tomorrow. there's just so much honesty in vash being able to see that gesture bc he wouldnt know#otherwise just how much he might mean to him. ANYWAY. trimax with with the eternal pining featuring the two chapters where imo#where the both of them really fell for each other... i wrote my thoughts about this on another comic i did before#but vash solidifying his feelings during the hospital arc -- ww solidifies his when he realizes his allegiances are permanently with vash#98 my lovelies but also to me they are so one-sided bc ww pined like no tomorrow and vash only realizes after ep 23?24? his heart did tickle#whenever ww complimented his smile though#and tristamp vw my beloveds. it really just feels like they get the  chance to be closer and closer and more honest with each other#with every version that comes about. in trimax they knew how little time they had but struggled so desperately to get closer. in 98 ww felt#more willing to forsake for vash. in badlands rumble theyre Angry but as mentioned earlier ^ more blatant truth... due to circumstances#mainly but has the chance to lead to discussions and tristamp literally. first day of knowing each other ww saves vash - 2 days later vash#saves ww like. Man. AND NOW THEY MAY POTENTIALLY GET EVEN CLOSER!!!! with s2....#ruporas art
