[I look after you.] [POTA headcanons!]
Tumblr media
Summary: Random acts of service I think each ape would do for you!
Characters: Caesar, Noa, Koba, Maurice Rocket, Blue eyes, Lake, Cornelius, and Dar.
Warnings: Caesar and Noa's are meant to be romantic. Dar and Cornelius are platonic as well. The others could be read as platonic or romantic, though!
A/N: These are all just random thoughts I've had today. Some will be shorter than others due to just how many characters I tried to include, so bare with me!
Tumblr media
Caesar has a sixth sense as to when you're gonna get hurt, it's uncanny.
Humans are clumsy and more fragile than others, he knows as such because of his grandfather and Will, seeing them trip and fall over nothing, stub their toe and curse, it's almost as if they didn't have spatial awareness at times.
His reflexes are faster than his words.
So he knows when you're about to slam your forehead full force into a wooden beam, immediately throwing a hand up to soften the blow.
You instinctually let out an "Ow!" Before realizing you're okay, your mates warm hand against your skin. The Chimp raises an eye bridge up at you, looking towards you and then his hand.
"Oh."
Tumblr media
Koba doesn't do anything nice for you without the expectation that you will do something for him in return.
One thing he will do is protect you against yourself, mainly out of pure pity.
Your center of gravity is different than his, and the woods are not meant for you, so get used to Koba yanking you back from a steep drop.
He isn't gentle about it, fist curled into your jacket and roughly dragging you backward, letting out a shrill against his knowledge.
You knock against his chest, his body immediately giving off its warmth to your own.
You're too scared to look up at Koba, knowing damn well he's gonna be glaring down at you, a comment ready to go.
Unfortunately for you, he does it regardless if you meet his gaze or not.
"Should have. Let you fall." He growls, hoping you can't somehow feet his heartbeat pumping out of his chest.
Tumblr media
Noa enjoys caring for you, making your life easier by any means necessary, whether it be by learning how to make you tools that help you fish easier, cooking your meat for you, knowing that your anatomy is different, to teaching you to the best of his ability how to hunt more efficiently.
It's his love language, not that he'd be aware of it. It makes him feel like a good mate, and that boosts his ego.
He gets so mad if you try and wave him off, scoffing at the thought of you not needing him.
What do you mean you're fine on your own? Nuh uh.
Has pouted before and got huffy if you get off of your horse without him helping you down, turning his back to you childishly as he sighs as long as possible.
I hate him.
Tumblr media
Maurice lets you cuddle into him for warmth. His fur is longer than the others, and he runs warm. He worries for you when the winters get rough. There's only so much they can do other than set a fire up and wrap you with animal hides.
Sometimes, it's not enough, and shivering yourself to sleep isn't fun.
Maurice considers you family, being the first first ape to truly take you in, he'd never turn you away from when you need him most.
Never needing permission, you quietly make your way to the Orangutan's nest, trying your best not to step on any leaves or branches.
Gingerly taking your time to settle next to Maurice, lowering your body down.
Taking a glance at Nova resting on his other side, you don't catch his eyes peering open, a hand coming up to sign slowly.
'Come.'
Lifting a long arm, he allows you to curl into his side, finally granting you a good night's rest.
Tumblr media
Blue eyes always makes sure you're apart of the conversation, if he and Ash are goofing around, and you're standing off to the side, he's gonna immediately poke small fun at you to get your attention.
The second he has it, he's gesturing you over to their little circle at the camp fire, asking you what humans think of whatever subject they're talking about.
Baby Blue will shove his shoulder into Ash if he tries to make fun of you, knowing well that you may not take it as friendly banter just yet.
Tumblr media
If you're gonna be with the colony, you'll need a protector, and who else is a better, more loyal one than Rocket.
No ape is being disrespectful towards you on his watch, you're important to Caesar and while that was in fact originally the reason he made it a point to keep an eye on you, he's come to love you himself.
An Ape comes up to you, asking something wildly inappropriate?
Rocket gets up in their face, making direct eye contact and puffing out his chest for them to back the fuck off, daring them to make a move, all while making sure you're well hidden behind himself.
Tumblr media
Lake enjoys braiding your hair for you, the different texture offering a welcome challenge compared to her own.
She's so gentle and light handed, her fingers weaving the strands to the best of her ability, fingers much too large.
It's a bonding experience between the two of you, her downtime, after working with the little ones for hours previously.
Tumblr media
The littlest ape prince is no stranger to clinging on to you at any point in time. Even as he grows older and gets to be too heavy to sit on your lap or climb up your back, he does it anyway. Wrapping his arms around your neck and hiding his face against your skin.
He does it when looking for comfort, but also for when he's being a little shit and his dad is searching for him to chastise.
Cornelius knows that when you're near, you're gonna spoil and baby him, and that's exactly what he wants, hiding behind you.
He is observant like his father, always in tune with your emotions and knows when you need to have company so you don't stew in your own head.
Drags you off to play with the other apes, not taking no for an answer even if you try to. He pulls those puppy dog eyes and it's damn near impossible to deny him.
Tumblr media
Taking on a motherly role for you comes with ease, Dar slipping into it once Noa vouches for you.
She makes sure to take you under her wing, teaching you their ways of life in the a view point of an elder, not just Noas.
Please don't imagine that she'd make you your own shawl, matching her own, literally don't bc I teared up.
She'd be ecstatic to see you wear it around the colony, staring at you. She's so proud of you from how far you've come.
Dar will blatantly introduce you to others as her child, no matter what another ape says. Which wouldn't be much to begin with, became who is gonna argue with her? She won't hear a word of it, waving them off.

𝚃𝚒𝚝𝚕𝚎: Whispers 𝙿𝚊𝚒𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐: Caesar x Human! Reader 𝚂𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢: In the midst of war, Caesar never expected to find solace in a human who became family to his sons. From comforting them as infants to guiding them through hardship, you quietly carved a place in their world—and in Caesar’s heart. As battle looms, he fights his growing feelings, fearing love is a weakness. But in the firelight, with his sons between them, he finally surrenders to the truth. 𝚁𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚋𝚢 𝚊𝚗𝚘𝚗 𝚁𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝: Hello! It's always great seeing writers make content for POTA. I was wondering if I could make a request for Caesar x Reader? Maybe him realizing he has feelings for the Reader after seeing how well they get along with Blue Eyes and Cornelius? Thank you!!
~~♡~~♥~~♡~~♥~~♡~~♥~~♡~~
The wind whispered through the trees, carrying the distant sounds of waves crashing against the shore. Caesar stood at the edge of the encampment, his sharp eyes following the small group gathered near the fire. His sons, Blue Eyes and Cornelius, sat close to you, soft laughter intertwining with the crackling flames.
You had been there from the beginning, long before Cornelius had taken his first breath. When Blue Eyes was still young and full of curiosity, it was you who had shown him how to hold a bow properly, who he sought after for comfort and who had soothed him with quiet stories when the nights were too restless. And when Cornelius was born, you had been the one to hold him first, just after Caesar, Cornelia and Lake, whispering words of comfort as the tiny infant clung to your fingers.
He had never expected this.
You, the human they had found wandering through the forest, who had been a mystery to him since the beginning. At first, he had only seen the danger in your presence in the colony—how your sole existence could threaten everything he worked so hard to build. But you had proven yourself time and time again, the colony had accepted you as one of them, even Koba, to some degree had been okay with your presence.
You were kind, patient, and never looked at them with fear.
Cornelius was perched in your lap, his small hands reaching for your face as you spoke in a gentle, lilting voice. Blue Eyes, usually so serious and protective of his baby brother, was smiling softly as you traced patterns in the dirt, teaching him something he was clearly fascinated by.
Caesar’s grip on his staff tightened. The sight stirred something deep within him, something unfamiliar, something dangerous.
A warmth he had not felt in a long time.
Not since Cornelia.
He had lost so much. His mate, his people, the peace he had fought so hard for. Love had become a distant memory, replaced by war, loss, and survival. But now, watching you with his children, something within him ached—not with pain, but with longing.
You fit here, in their world. Not as an outsider, not as a threat, but as something more.
As one of them.
Caesar moved closer, his steps nearly silent if you hadn’t known him for so long. You looked up at him as he approached, gaze warm and knowing. “They’re wonderful, Caesar,” you said softly, running a hand through Cornelius’s dark fur, making the young ape purr in happiness. “So full of life… despite everything.”
His throat tightened. He had fought so hard to give them a future. And now, here you were, slipping into that future without him even realizing it.
“They… like you,” he murmured, glancing at Blue Eyes, who had begun playfully nudging your shoulder, trying to get your attention to show you what he had written on the sand. Cornelius hooted softly, clutching your arm.
Smiling, your expression gentle. “I like them, too.”
For the first time in what felt like forever, Caesar allowed himself peace, with a small smile he sat beside you, closer than he usually would. Cornelius immediately climbed into his lap, but his little hands still reached for yours, as if he could not bear to let go of your warm touch.
Blue Eyes nudged you again, but as he noticed how you were looking at his father, a mischievous glint shone on his blue eyes. “You should stay with us forever.” He signed with a soft coo, immediately Cornelius agreed with a loud hoot as he pulled on his father’s fur.
You laughed softly, a sound that warmed Caesar’s chest and pulled at his tired heartstrings. “And what would your father think about that?” you teased back, glancing at Blue eyes, although the older ape saw how your cheeks flushed pink.
A low rumble of laughter escaped Caesar as you met his green intelligent eyes, and for a moment, there was no war, no burdens, no loss. Just this—his sons, the firelight, and you.
“He… would not mind,” he murmured, voice low but firm.
Your gaze softened as your cheeks reddened. Slowly, you reached out towards him, brushing your fingers against his rough hand. It was a small touch, but it spoke volumes. A silent promise. A quiet understanding.
And it meant the world to Caesar.
You hesitated for a moment before shifting closer, until there was no space left between the two of you. Caesar could feel the warmth of your body, the steady rise and fall of your breath, the sweetness of your scent.
“Caesar,” you whispered, his name slipping from your lips like a prayer.
His free hand lifted on its own, brushing a strand of hair from your face. His rough fingers lingered against your brow, tracing a path down from your cheek to your lips, catching the soft gasp that escaped your lips, memorizing every detail.Leaning into his touch, eyes searching his, waiting, offering.
And then he closed the distance.
The first touch was hesitant, your foreheads kissed as Caesar's big hands held your face close to him, a trembling breath escaped your lips, heart pounding in your ears as anticipation took hold of you. Then, gathering your courage, your lips touched his.
The kiss was soft, hesitant at first. You pulled away shortly after but Caesar held you closer and joined your lips again and again, the kisses growing more heated.
The king of the San Francisco Ape colony was familiar with human customs, he tried to recall all he had learned when he lived with Will about love. His mind flashed with the romance movies he saw on the Tv with Charles, how Will showed his love to Caroline, what he observed couples do from his window. He recalled kisses as something very intimate between mates, something meaningful and full of the unspoken feelings between them.
He was not good with words, but his actions spoke loud and clear and as soon as he felt you respond to his kiss with effusiveness, something inside him shattered.
All the walls he had built, the grief he had buried, all of it faded into the firelight. His strong arms wrapped around you tightly, holding you closer, as if holding you in this moment would keep the world from stealing you away.
You melted against him, fingers threading through his rough fur, tracing the scars left by the harsh years  and anchoring you both. The world outside still burned, but here, wrapped in each other's warmth, Caesar felt something he thought had been lost to him.
Hope.
When you finally pulled apart, forehead resting against his, your breaths mingling in the cool night air.
“You… are my family” his husky voice, hoarse but full of certainty ran through your spine, leaving goosebumps in it's wake. “If... you stay, I will never… let you… go.” The way your name flew from his lips made your heart flutter.
Smiling, you pressed another gentle kiss to the corner of his lips. “Then I will stay,” you whispered. “Always”
And for the first time in what felt like forever, Caesar truly believed in a future worth fighting for.
EXTRA:
Blue eyes looked at his father and favorite human sharing a moment of intimacy and felt happiness. Happiness for his father, who, since Cornelia’s death had been a shell of himself, focusing only in the colony’s matters and in raising him and Cornelius, pushing beyond his limit.
Cornelius looked at the two adults, tilted head in mid confusion but when he saw the soft smile on both of their faces he understood. Hooting loudly he began climbing his father like a tree, much to Blue eyes’ amusement, until he could climb into your hair and perch himself there, cooing as you and Caesar pulled apart laughing softly- or in Caesar case, a soft amused huff.
“Don’t worry Cornelius, I will stay with you and Blue eyes too.” You smiled as the baby ape jumped into your arms, nestling into your neck. The older prince sat next to his father who wrapped one arm around his shoulder as you held one of Blue eyes’ hands, smiling back at you as you kissed Cornelius' forehead lovingly. “ Always.”
Caesar felt his whole body relax for the first time in years, his lips quivered in a light smile as he watched his little family gathered by the fire, his heart bursting at the seams in happiness, green eyes lovingly taking in all the details and searing the moment on his mind with the stars in the sky as the only witnesses to this tender moment.

*putting on my tinfoil hat for a sec*
Okay, so this has been on my mind for a while. Since the reboot Planet of the Apes trilogy has, arguably the best version, of Caesar
Tumblr media
Who is loosely based on the OG franchise's version, and a bit of Julius Caesar.
Tumblr media
And reboot Caesar eventually has a son named Cornelius
Tumblr media
Who's named not only after his mother, but both characters are named after one of the OG franchise's favorite apes from the 1968 film.
Tumblr media
If the sequel to Kingdom jumps ahead a few years like Dawn, Noa and Soona might have children.
Tumblr media
Aaaand if they have a daughter, I think I have an idea of who she will be named after from the OG franchise!!!!
Tumblr media
ZIRA!!!
AND IT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE! Because of Noa's newfound interest in science (fixing the cattle prod) and space (the observatory).
Tumblr media
I know Zira in the OG films is an animal psychologist, I think it'll be kind of neat if reboot Zira had an interest in space!

so i watched all 9 of the Planet of the Apes movies for the 1st time last year, and now im watching them all again(+saw the 10th one). It's probably just because i wasnt even close to being alive when the originals came out, because i know they're famous, but this franchise feels like such an underrated gem to me haha. And the makeup/prosthetics in the originals are so good!
Anyway here's Cornelius and Zira, i like them c:

ʟᴏɴɢɪɴɢ | ᴄᴏʀɴᴇʟɪᴜꜱ x ʜ! ʀᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ
Tumblr media
𝚃𝚒𝚝𝚕𝚎: Longing 𝙿𝚊𝚒𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐: Cornelius x H! Reader 𝚂𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢: He shouldn't feel this way. He was an ape and you were human. It was unatural, it was forbidden and yet... Everytime you smirked, everytime you challenged him-- His heart raced... It wasn't just admiration anymore, it was need. So let the world judge him, he didn't care anymore— because Cornelius wasn't afraid of the truth, and the truth was that he was in love with you. 𝚁𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚋𝚢 𝚊𝚗𝚘𝚗 𝚁𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝: Can you write something short for Cornelius please? Maybe confessing to Human! Reader. Thank you.
A/N: Roddy Mcdowall the icon that you were... This was supposed to be short... I got too excited oops...
★゜・。。・゜゜☆゜・。。・゜★
Cornelius had always been a careful thinker, a measured speaker, but you unraveled him in a way he couldn’t explain. When you had first arrived, he had been fascinated.
You were intelligent in ways no human should have been. You spoke, reasoned, challenged him.
At first, it had been purely intellectual—of course it had.
You made him question things.
And Cornelius loved questions.
But you keep refusing to be categorized. Refused to fit neatly into the laws of nature he’d known all his life.
But the problem was– You had become a question he could not answer. He had tried to reduce you to a puzzle, a mystery, something he could fit into the grand tapestry of history.
And slowly—horrifyingly—Cornelius realized it wasn’t just your mind that fascinated him, but you.
“Your history is wrong,” You had told him, arms crossed. “Humans were here before you.”
“That’s a bold claim.” Cornelius swallowed, his heart racing at the implication. “It’s simply impossible.”
You glanced up, eyes glinting as you flipped through the pages of one of his books. “You already suspect it.”
He swallowed hard, eyes downcast. “That doesn’t mean—”
You shut the book with a soft thud. “You know I’m right.”
Cornelius’ eyes looked at you for a brief moment, and for the first time, he admitted something he had been fighting for weeks.
“I don’t want you to be right,” he said quietly and if it wasn’t for the fact he was seated before you, you’d probably wouldn’t have heard him.
Your expression softened. “Why?”
“Because if you are, then everything I’ve ever believed is a lie.”
You leaned forward, voice softer now. “And that scares you?” He hated how you could see right through him. Cornelius was afraid. Because if you were right—if human civilization had come before the apes—then his entire belief system was a lie.
He hesitated, the silence engulfing his office. Then, barely above a whisper he answered without meeting your gaze.
“Yes.”
Cornelius didn’t move. Didn’t breathe.
You reached out, fingers softly brushing over his knuckles, his hands tightly intertwined together and with a quiet but sweet voice you asked.
“I scare you too, don’t I?”
Because yes. Yes, you did.
But not for the reasons you thought. Not because you were a threat to ape history but because you were a threat to him, as fear wasn’t the only thing stirring in him.
Wanting you.
You were brilliant, sweet and the more time he spent beside you, the more he found himself wanting your trust.
He was an ape and you were a human. It was unthinkable and yet, when you leaned forward, eyes full of fire, he thought…
It meant that everything he had built—his beliefs, his understanding of the world—was wrong.
No.
Cornelius wasn’t a fool. He knew what this meant.
It meant that he wasn’t just a scholar studying history.
He was part of history now, and history always had a cruel way of punishing those who challenged it.
You sat back in the chair, relaxedly watching him with quiet amusement. For such a quiet man, his thoughts were so loud.
“You’re different from the others,” you mused.
Cornelius cleared his throat as he adjusted the neck of his shirt “H-How so?”
“You don’t just want to control me. You want to understand me.” He could feel your gaze piercing through him, a small but beautiful smirk on your lips that made his heart piston.
Cornelius felt heat rise to his face. “That’s… not entirely true.”
You arched a brow, teasingly. “Oh?”
Cornelius hesitated. His heart was pounding hard—as an unfamiliar, dangerous feeling rose inside him, like a damp close to overflowing everything close by. He shouldn’t be here. He shouldn’t be talking to you like this.
And he definitely shouldn’t be wondering what it would feel like if you touched him again.
You tilted your head in curiosity, your eyes never wavering in its inspection as you watched him closely. “You don’t hate me.”
Cornelius exhaled slowly, trying to keep his voice steady. “No,” he admitted.
You propped yourself from your seat, getting closer to him, reaching over the table between the two of you, voice barely above a whisper.
“Then what do you feel?”
Cornelius hated himself for it.
He shouldn't have felt this way. He was an ape. You were a human. It was unnatural, it was forbidden.
And yet—
Every time your sharp gaze was on him, every time you smirked, every time you challenged him—
His heart raced.
It wasn’t just admiration anymore. It wasn’t just respect.
It was need.
And that terrified him more than anything.
Because Cornelius had always been a creature of control and you had taken that from him and as he stood there, looking at you, knowing that one day you might slip through his fingers forever—
Cornelius made his choice.
Let the world judge him.
Let history condemn him.
He didn’t care anymore.
Because for the first time in his life, Cornelius wasn’t afraid of the truth. And the truth was—
He loved you.
He remembered a night similar to this one, one where you had leaned in close—too close— as you two were going over an ancient map he had recently found. Your shoulder brushed against his, your scent was warm, earthy, alive, yours.
He had always sought knowledge, not feelings. But knowledge was dangerous, because once you knew something, you could never un-know it. He knew now, maybe had always known but refused to accept it, that he wanted you.
Cornelius had frozen and you noticed. Of course you had noticed. You always noticed.
“You’re tense,” you murmured, glancing up at him, your voice low. Teasing.
Cornelius had swallowed. “You—” His throat had gone dry. “You’re very close.”
You had arched an eyebrow, but neither of you moved away.Instead you had lifted a hand—slowly, deliberately—and traced the corner of the map with your fingertips.
“Go on,” you murmured, looking at him from under your lashes. “Teach me, Cornelius.”
Cornelius had tried.
He really had.
He had tried to focus on the map, on the history, on anything but the way your fingers brushed against his own.
On anything but the way his heart was pounding. On anything but the way, you looked so incredibly sensual as you asked him to teach you.
And for a single, reckless second—
He had almost reached for your lips.
And that terrified him.
And he fled.
So he had pushed back from the table, clearing his throat. Found an excuse to leave, and as he walked away, he knew that if you had touched him even a second longer— if he had stayedHe would have let you do to him as you pleased.
He had felt your warmth, the brush of your fingers against his own, the unbearable closeness.
And every night since then he could only wonder what if—
What if he hadn’t?
What if he had let his hand linger on yours?
What if, instead of pulling away, he had traced the delicate line of your wrist, up your forearm, memorizing the way your skin felt beneath his fingertips?
Would you have stopped him?
Or would you have leaned in—just a little, just enough for him to feel your breath against his cheek?
Would he have dared to tip your chin up, to search your gaze, to see the fire in your eyes and finally understand what it meant?
Would he have let himself taste it?
Would it have been a slow, unraveling kind of kiss—tentative, full of hesitation, of wonder? Or would it have been clumsy, heated... His mind lost to the way you felt, the way you tasted?
Would you have smiled afterward?
Would you have whispered,” took you long enough” ?
And would Cornelius—logical, cautious, careful Cornelius— Would he have been able to let you go afterwards?
“Something wrong, Cornelius?”
He had prided himself on his self-control, but none of that mattered now that you were standing so close. Not when your fingers had brushed against his once again. Not when his dreams were plagued with the images of  what if’s, not when he was still feeling the heat of your touch— touch that sent shocks through his body, making him tremble with something he could no longer ignore—
It was mocking. Playful.
You knew what you were doing to him. And Cornelius—Cornelius could not handle it.
Standing before him were you: his human and his mind was a storm of logic warring against the deep ache in his chest.
He was not a reckless fool who would throw himself into the unknown without first calculating the risks. But this—this moment—was beyond reason.
He shouldn’t do this.
He should turn back, pretend the feelings were never there, bury them beneath research and propriety.
But the thought of walking away—of never telling you—was worse than any rejection he might face.
So he did the most terrifying thing he had ever done in his life, and with a whisper of your name, he spoke.
"I…"
Your eyes found his, expectant, and his courage wavered instantly.
Could he really do this? Risk everything?
He could lose everything.
But you were his.
His intellectual equal. His companion. His obsession.
" I need to tell you something. I—" He exhaled sharply, rubbing his hands together to stop them from shaking. " No, that’s not right. What I mean is—what I’ve been trying to say for… quite some time now, actually, is—"
As you always did.
He winced at the sound of his own voice, You sound like a babbling fool. But you didn’t say anything, you simply… listened patiently, waiting for him with a soft smile.
"I know this may seem improper, perhaps unwise, even absurd, but I cannot seem to—no, I mean, I do not wish to—"
His heart pounded. He felt trapped between the words he wanted to say and the fear of what might happen if he said them.
The possibility of losing you gripped him like a vice.
But then—you smiled. Soft, Knowing.
As if you had been waiting, and before he could spiral further, before he could ruin his own confession with endless overthinking—
You kissed him.
For the first breath, he didn’t even react then something in him cracked.
Your lips were warm, soft, tender—a sensation so foreign, so utterly impossible, that his mind refused to comprehend it at first.
The weight of his uncertainty, the fear of rejection—all of it shattered in a million pieces.
A sharp, involuntary tremor ran through him as his hands, that had been frozen, moved on their own. One settled on your waist, hesitant, disbelieving as the other lifted, shaking, to cup your cheek as if you were made of something too delicate, too precious to hold.
A soft mumble against your lips, a whisper of your name, his breath uneven.
You pulled back just enough to meet his gaze, and oh, how you looked at him.
Not with pity. Not with confusion. But with love.
"Cornelius," you said, voice soft but firm.
The way you said his name—his name—as if it was something worthy, something cherished—
His vision blurred with unshed tears.
"I thought you would never say it," you whispered against his lips.
"Say… what?" he rasped, his brain lagged from the sheer intensity of the kiss, his mind still struggling to believe this was real. You laughed softly, tilting your head with sparkling eyes.
"That you love me."
Cornelius sucked in a breath.
The words he had feared to say aloud, the words that had tormented him for so long—
Cornelius' chest tightened painfully, a desperate, overwhelming emotion rising so fast that he could do nothing to stop it. He could only pull you closer this time, over the table and onto his lap as his lips crashed against yours—not in fear, not in hesitation—
You knew…
And still, you were here.
But in relief.
In longing.
In the sheer, breathtaking joy of knowing that for once the universe had been kind to him and he could barely breathe.
The moment his lips had left yours, the moment he pulled back, the moment he saw the way you stared at him—
He had never wanted something like this before.
Never ached.
Never needed.
But when you whispered his name like a secret, when you made him feel like he would die if he didn’t touch you again.
From now on, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself. His hands shot out, grabbing your waist—too fast, too rough—his breath coming quicker than it should as he pressed you closer to his body. Your lips parted in a quiet moan, your eyes darkening with something he couldn’t name… Something that made his entire body burn.
He had never done anything like this before.
Never acted without thinking.
Never let himself want.
But right now—he wanted so badly.
He whispered your name like a plea, pulling you in another kiss. Messy, desperate—nothing like the careful, structured man he had always been. As you melted into him, your hands fisting the fur on the back of his neck, pulling him closer, closer, closer.
The second you lips parted and he could taste you again, the soft, breathless noise you made against his mouth—
Cornelius was lost.
He gripped you harder, hands trembling, composure shattered as he chased your lips like a man starved. The feel of your body against his, the way you gave in to him.
You were fire.
And he wanted to burn.
When you finally broke apart, he was breathing too hard, vision blurred, his body shaking as you looked up at him with swollen lips, cheeks flushed red and eyes filled with something dangerous.
“Took you long enough,” you whispered heatedly, pulling him back into a sweet kiss. Cornelius could only laugh softly against your lips, gladly kissing you back.
Let me know your thoughts!
