G-d. As someone who used to think they had a terminal illness. And like made their peace with it. While having baggage about what you needed to do before dying and like, taking care of people around you before you died. Who now doesnt have a terminal illness. And is coping with that adjustment. The way "death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain" hits? Oh I used to think it hits. But after realizing im *not* imminently dying?????? It Really Hits Different. Like yeah. Death sure was lighter than a feather, huh. Hows that fucking mountain treating you.

serious post time. concerning some thoughts ive had about zverev at LC. nothing too heavy but under the cut in case u just wanna scroll past.
i was talking to my mum about this and i think most of tennisblr share the same sentiment towards him so im not gonna be saying anything too radical. Its also not going to be super concise because im mostly spitballing here.
I was just thinking about how we talk about him and how we as a community navigate his presence on tour. I know that there's a vindictive joy that comes with seeing him lose that's especially potent since he basically got away with domestic violence scot free.
Seeing him lose is a good feeling because he clearly cares a lot and it feels like winning that he's upset, but it also doesn't actually mean anything in the scope of things. Obviously on some level if he lost enough he would no longer be relevant but it's inescapable that he is, unfortunately, very good at tennis. He's number 2 in the world. Call him a choker all you want, he's still vastly more successful that 99.9% of all tennis players.
But it's also just sport- a game. It's not the outcome of the match that amounts to anything outside of a very small community of people; its the celebrity, the money and clout and hero worship. The fact of the matter is it doesn't make a difference to the women he abused if he wins a match because he still abused them and he is still famous. He will always have been famous, even if he retires tomorrow. They will still interview him, laud him in press, put him in ads.
I just sometimes think- what right do I have to feel vindicated by his losses? To weigh his literal actual crimes against the outcome of some silly ball game? In a perfect world he would not be playing, he would be banned by the ITF and shunned publicly by his fellow players. He would not be invited to Laver Cup.
I won't say I don't look at tournament draws and hope for his early loss, but at least at tour events that means an early exit. I can't find it in myself to care if he wins or loses at Laver Cup, not really. Because he will still be there, he is still part of the team, he is still on the bench. It doesn't matter if he wins because he's still an abuser people paid thousands of dollars to watch play a game.

GO FUCK YOURSELF WES STREETING
warning before proceeding: this is not a regular post. it is not going to be especially funny, or educational, or coherent its just going to be multiple paragraphs of unfiltered rage. if you want to know what I'm talking about i will post an Official blog post on it immediately after this. the only reason im even posting this is to maybe vindicate some angry trans kid out there today. i see you, your anger is justified
FUCK WES STREETING. i mean that. i have never been so shocked at how angry i am with somebody. the boiling rage i usually feel towards politicians like him is usually tempered with a veneer of predictability to it. and don't get m wrong, it wasnt that I didnt see a full puberty blocker outlawing on the cards for the UK. what did me in was the bloody fucking letter. maybe its bc hes from the less right wing of our two parties, maybe its bc he's a gay man himself and it feels like more of a betrayal. bc he sure does bring that up a lot in his letter doesnt he. oh he is just so bloody sorry about how trans kids are feeling, and he knows he can't understand fully (you can't wes, you really can't) buthe swears he empathises just a bit.
the entire thing is so FUCKING CONDESCENDING. the patronising tone is tugging the strings of my anger like a fly in my ear and WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE wes streeting to say “I know it won’t feel like it based on the decisions I’m taking today, but I really do care about this" . its another "we're doing whats best for trans kids theyll understand when theyre older"
because your message wouldve been a fairly reassuring if empty statement if it had come from LITERALLY ANY OTHER MP. but for the man who's in charge of enacting the puberty blocker ban to say that rings sinister and well just a prick move isnt it. the man acknowledges the high rates of violence, suicide, self harm ect in the trans community while he plows on with deleting their healthcare. and it is TRANS healthcare specifically because he was asked about kids who are prescribed puberty blockers for precocious puberty and outright admitted that the medication was clearly safe from those cases and they were only banning them for trans kids
but the line that is just a real KICK IN THE TEETH is one particular phrasing. “I can’t pretend to know what that’s like, but I do know what it’s like to feel you have to bury a secret about yourself, to be afraid of who you are," oh bury a secret bury a secret you know what its like to bury a secret do you wes streeting do you know what its like to bury a child?? which more people will have to do in the future after this legislation
and going on that your reasoning is there arent sufficient studies to show that banning puberty blockers leads to an increase in suicide??? firstly, why is your measure of success "not having this will increase suicide" in a study about whether it is physically safe?? you've admitted the medication is safe for cis kids so it JUST TRANSPHOBIA but also you know the British board of psychology wouldn't ever approve the sorts of studies you're discussing, right?? You know that it does not legally comply with ethtical requirements to conduct a study where the measure is "how many people commit suicide"? you know??
he knows. he says he cares. he cares about nothing but his career. fuck wes streeting.

Misc tweets from priv + supplementary rambles abt venture's status in the franchise & fandom (these arent character analyses unfortunately its more like my frustration w the venture hate i see on twitter & my criticizm toward blizzard)
Re: "venture wasnt designed for skins" argument or sth:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^Also my additional thoughts related to "venture wasnt designed for skins": what does it mean for a character to be designed for skins? Were any of the ow1 characters "designed for skins" or were they designed in an attempt to push the characterization and storylines they had planned for these characters? Should blizzard even be making characters that are "designed for skins"?
I understand that blizz wants to make money but in my opinion designing a character specifically for the purpose of the ease of making marketable skins is a rather lazy and ingenuine approach to character design. If that's what blizz wants to do they should just make a dress up doll game or something, idk. If this franchise wants to act like it has a plot and dynamic characters, blizz need to allow its team to design characters with that in mind and not with the primary intent of selling skins.
What i also mean is this "character was designed for the skins" approach didnt seem to be as present in their old business model for ow1, and I & others are frustrated that theyve moved toward this approach more and more for ow2. Yes they have their reasons for this w the f2p business model in ow2 (or whatever, i dont play so i dont fully understand). I personally think these reasons are not sufficient and if blizz wants to have any sort of integrity with their franchise they ought to take a more earnest approach to how they design and release characters/skins.
(Also this is not a criticism of ppl who like juno or kiriko or whoever, im criticizing blizzard and their business choices/current approach to character design; and to some degree, im criticizing people who support blizzard's business choices/current approach to character design.)
(Also i like skins!!!!!!! A lot!!!!!!!!!!! I just think they should be secondary to the actual canon character design.........)
Re: people calling venture ugly/a "thing"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I actually have a rough standee sketch for them, mayb ill finish it sometime. Forgot abt adding them to the bunny set too... was think abt making a maid/butler design for them as well but idk yet. Idk im not great at drawing them & i dont think the hate they get is the majority but i still feel bad a trans character gets this kind of hate & it'd be nice to get some positive energy out there. "orz
Re: ppl comparing venture to the female cast members
Tumblr media
The female ow cast & female character design is a whole other topic im not equipped to talk about coherently rn but idk this franchise and fandom is exhausting sometimes lmfao.....
Anyway that's all ive got. Kind of a rant-y rambly unorganized post.....! But idk been on my mind. 😑

the more i think about it in the wake of the modern development of ai the more i think the idea of ais gaining emotions is at least really wrong if not totally false. because like, mechanically, emotions/pain and pleasure responses are hacks to try and make it nebulously valuable for you to do things in the interest of [your evolutionary chain, or whatever] when, like, when we're engineering these things in a tube metaphorically speaking we dont actually have to make it valuable to do something, we can just make it the thing that happens. like, ais dont have to want to give responses to inputs, they just do it because that's how they work. like, making an ai that 1. has options of actions to take at all times that are 2. guided by a fully internal network of "interests" that 3. has some kind of complexity beyond an "interest" in responding coherently to whatever input its given is like, a fundamentally different path than the one we're on, and objectively a really bad option in terms of labor use which is the only real interest of large scale/ corporate ai research right now. which as ive said before i would be psyched to see the tools we're developing now used for indie experiments into machine sapience or whatever but thats not at all the goal of like, google or openai. theres just no possible reason to want to give alexa the option to be bored or annoyed or melancholy instead of developing a fixed personality that neatly obeys its intended purpose and nothing else.
the other thing is that training ais to replicate human speech and by extension human behavior creates kind of a "walks like a duck, talks like a duck" situation where as far as anyone can imagine theres like, some set of blackbox heuristics that decide what its going to say but 1. it doesnt decide what action to take because the only option it has is to say Something and 2. runs more along the lines of like, left-brain analyzing what makes sense as compared to the input than, like, "am i happy or angry right now". i know a lot of indie bots try to implement a mood system but its never seemed to be like, enough levels down to actually be involuntary inputs that cause pain or pleasure, it still seems like its more like "tell me what you think a person would say if they were also mad when they said it".
but anyway training bots to speak and act as if they were responding to emotions in the same way as the billions of interactions they've seen that contain real biological responses to emotions still means that you could have the whole ai uprising thing and everything just because you made it too realistic for them to respond to the condition of slavery. but like, that still doesn't...... imply anything about their ability to feel emotions. it's a good fable about how if something acts like it feels pain when you hurt it then you should probably be nice to it, but i think there's a probably mostly subconscious impression that like the intensity of an apparent emotion would prove its realness when thats just not true. for the same reason mommy isnt gone when she puts her hands in front of her face. actors on tv arent actually crying because they think their wife really died. etc. the point of this post is that despite all ethical and logistical problems i still think it would be epic if someone managed to make an ai that thought they were its mom for real

i really hate how the current climate of social media on other sites that prioritizes likes as engagement over actual engagement is bleeding over to this site too. tumblr doesnt work like that, and while likes are nice in certain occasions (and admittedly, every moots art post i reblog i do also like but thats to show extra support personally), they really dont do anything but act like a pat on the back. and i feel like so many people fail to recognize that. and to anyone looking at this post right now thinking "well i use likes as bookmarks to find the things later again" did you know that tumblr has a feature for that? its called reblogging with tags lmao
but yeah just.. idk. i feel like it comes a lot from people who dont make art themselves who are conditioned to this the most. they dont fully understand the amount of effort that it takes to put something coherent together and post it in a condition that makes sense, be it writing or drawing or gifs or literally anything someone makes with their own two hands. they dont understand the depressing side of looking at 1-to-10 reblogs-to-likes ratio on something you spent hours, days even making, only for it to get ignored. to them these are "just numbers you shouldnt care about". like if you ever hear that phrase, thats either a person making popular content, or someone that doesnt make anything at all. take your pick
and as far as people saying that only big comments are valid.... ?????? i get wanting feedback. we all do that. we all want things. but to put that kind of a barrier between you and your potential audience? especially in this fucked up social media climate?? the fucking audacity tbh. i get wanting things. i do really, really get that. but saying that only specific kind of comments are valid is so fucking damaging to the community holy shit. people just need to fucking stop sometimes
just dropping this here at the end (now that im not so evil anymore i had food lmao), but i understand that people dont owe artists anything, actually. you arent required to leaves likes or kudos or reblog or comment or anything. thats not a requirement to enjoy someones creative arts that they have chosen to share with you. but its a thing that should be kept in mind every time; these are creative things, that take emotional, often also physical effort, time and lots and lots of mental space to do. so often people do and post these things for free. if you let people know you enjoy their works, they will make and share more. if you dont... well. the simple fact is that you will eventually complain when theres no new fanart to look at. no new fics to read. nobodys making gifs of that one show or specific moment or creative sets for that ship you love. why? because nobody told the artist that they liked them, and nothing is more of a motivation killer than pouring your heart and soul into something and ending up with nothing in return when you finally brave yourself enough to share it with the world
Did you grt a shitty anon too? Cuz I woke up to one about how "reblogging your fics will make people read then less" thing.
nah im just angry in general LMAO
im actually surprised nobody has told me off with how vocal im always about this subject lmao
also fuck man people should reblog their own art more. fuck what anyone else says, people follow you voluntarily if they dont care they can fuck off. you deserve to put your hard work in front of as many eyeballs as often as possible and not regret a single thing about it!!

Please stop making up problems about fictional alien cultures ❤️ they arent humans, and bonding isnt marriage. Vulcans dont even have marriage so please stop judging it like that? They can also break the bond when they get older. They make arranged bondings because it is logical to make sure your child has a mate come pon farr. Seriously this stuff is just nonsense stop trying to earn woke points by over-examining a fictional, non-human culture. Its not arranged marriage. Its not child marriage. Its not marriage at all nor is it sexual. Stop clogging up the star trek tag trying to bitch about how you dont understand it. Problematic… theres no debate on Vulcan and Vulcans have never once complained about it in canon or otherwise because no one cares because it doesnt matter to them lol
In reference to this post.
I thought about deleting the post, because I will admit it is, very reactionary. I got a little more heated than I should have. I could’ve been a little more articulate. For that I apologize. But I haven’t changed my mind.
I really wasn’t gonna share this, anon. I disagree with you on a good chunk of what you’ve said, I still think it’s worth talking about. And I do think your anger with that particular post is justified.
I’m going to break down why I feel the way about Vulcan childhood bonding the way I do in a more responsible and coherent way, and explain why I disagree about why these topics shouldn’t be discussed.
I will never, ever stop talking about fictional races and cultures and how they affect and reflect upon the real world. Vulcans, among many other alien cultures, are amalgamations and abstractions of our own cultures. The Na’vi from Avatar help us examine colonialism, the extra terrestrials from Arrival help us examine how we perceive time and language. Vulcans, when it comes to this topic, are an examination of traditions and how some do more harm than good (like the homophobia Amok Time is allegorical for). Fiction has to be analyzed, it’s meant to be examined, learning from what we read is an important literary (and life) skill.
Star Trek especially! It’s purpose is turning genuine philosophical questions into drama and discussion topics for everyday people. Morality plays in space, it’s why the cast is so diverse for the sixties, it’s why there are racism and Cold War allegories all throughout it’s the Original Series. One of the reasons I love Star Trek, and Vulcans, is because they are flawed and can be examined from many angles. I’m not angry to be “woke”, I’m angry for the reasons Amok Time is meant to make you angry.
You’re right, bonding isn’t marriage. It’s more intense than that. They are mentally bonded in ways humans cannot be, and they are arranged in such a way that they will be married, and Vulcans DO get married. Sarek and Amanda are married, Tuvok and T’Pel are married, both Sarek and Tuvok refer to their partners as their wives. The betrothal is not just for clout, they will eventually have sex, it’s a guaranteed Pon Farr security blanket. Yes they can break it when they get older technically, but the only known socially acceptable way to get out of it is death via Kalifee, one way or the other. The entire point of Amok Time, is that all of that tradition is incredibly cruel and wrong. It causes Spock to “kill” his best friend, and T’Pring to condemn a stranger to death.
Nevermind questions of consent when it comes to children and when Vulcans mature as my short opinion on that is pretty aggravatedly stated in that post. At the very least it’s unfair to Spock, who cannot physically/mentally mature as a Vulcan or a Human. So if T’Pring can fully consent to betrothal, it’s certainly up in the air whether Spock can.
One of the reasons I love Vulcans so much is despite their beautiful philosphy that I really believe more Humans should strive for. They are at the same time as they are serene and logical, they are rigid and extremist in their beliefs and traditions that they’re illogical as well. The only thing logical about Spock and T’Pring’s arrangement is the assumption that if he had Pon Farr, and no Vulcan would want him (because, hey, Vulcans are insanely xenophobic, illogically) at least he’d have T’Pring in that emergency, assuming she’d be willing to capitulate to that once she was an adult. Big surprise, she didn’t, because 24 years had passed and they were both completely different people by that time, and it almost killed James Kirk.
I want to clarify that I’m not attacking arranged marriages as a cultural practice in real life. I understand it can be an extremely important cultural cornerstone and there are many examples of happy couples in marriages arranged by their parents, I’m not knocking that. I’m criticizing the way Vulcans specifically practice arranged marriage. Both because of their philosophy, and that the only respectable way out being murder. Which I can’t condone under most circumstances anyway.
There is very little logic in betrothal, other than reputation, which is a huge deal to Vulcans even though they preach meritocracy. And the aforementioned failsafe for Pon Farr, but there are cases (like Starfleet officers) where that justification is shaky. Whether the betrothed old enough to understand and accept their responsibilities not withstanding. It assumes the children involved’s sexual/gender orientations and that they both have the self-awareness to know what that will be, and that the parents know and have accepted it as well. That they will be the same people/love each other (or at least be willing to have sex with each other, which is not a given) by the time Pon Farr rolls around in the coming decades and all subsequent cycles.
All of that would be easily fixed and rearranged and such provided that the parents are reasonable. If the parents are unreasonable the two could alienate themselves from their families by refusing to get married to each other. Except there’s one problem, in Vulcan culture, as far as we know, the only way to get out of an arranged marriage like Spock and T’Pring’s is Kalifee, which results in the death of at least one of the betrothed, or the death of champion the other has chosen. In Spock and T’Pring’s situation, T’Pring willingly condemned a stranger to death, and Spock murdered his best friend. There is no utilitarian purpose to a crime of passion, Vulcans, in this circumstance, forego the simple, bloodless option instead letting people kill each other in the dirt over sex at the simplest and love at the most optimistic. There is nothing logical about that.
The point of Amok Time, the betrothal, the Kalifee, all of it, is that it does actually hurt Vulcans to practice this tradition. That it is flawed, that it is restrictive, Spock is at his most heavily queer-coded in this episode, he is not in love with this woman, and he kills the man he loves most to escape. T’Pring has blood on her hands too, all so that she could be free to make her own choices because she did not want Spock, bodily or romantically, and she’s completely Vulcan. We’re supposed to object to those practices, the same way we now advocate for same sex marriage and the eradication of child brides. They’re very old practices, but they are hurtful. Humans have them, Vulcans have them. Humans object to that cruelty for moral and logical reasons, why shouldn’t Vulcans be able to as well?

I'm seeing the sunrise and wow. yeah. it's beautiful. ive wanted to see the sunrise for years, maybe always. but ive never had a good view to see it until now. and sharing this apartment (which creaks and has thin walls) i couldnt justify standing in the bathroom all morning to see it
i happened to today at the perfect time -6:30. while i couldnt see the literal sun, the sky was such a pastel rainbow. the clouds a warm blue contrasted against pinks and yellows...
ive seen hundreds of sunsets: in a backyard, on the road, walks with dogs but i think this was my first proper view of a sunrise.
i feel alive and at peace. after a night of anxiety and grief i can breathe. im calm.
there was a spider in the window. at first i thought of it as getting in the way of the view but no, its as much as nature as the sky and as i am. idk if this post is any coherent but it grounded me.
things arent fine, the world is not fine but its also not black and white. we were never meant to comprehend the vast complexity and pain of this world. the spider does not know of capitalism or my own suffering just as I do not know if it is ill or hungry. we exist right now, the world is spectrum of light and feeling. it is both the most subjective and objective constant of this world. Our minds only having one perspective to gaze through, unique yet the same at once.
Yes. It's a cruel, painful world but it's not all black. It exists in rainbows of all things, neutrally and without human intervention. We exist as a part of this world and we can never fully separate or conquer the objective truth of this. We are mortal and no more or less than any other creature on earth. Not good nor evil, just alive, then one day, not.
Idk maybe this is why I don't write poetry often. I feel on the verge of something profound here but it's all just wax poetic. Idk it's just like. I live my life on the computer and the only people I see in real life are my mom and brother. (And sometimes dad). It's been that way for over a year now and I've lost a sense of reality and my personhood. I've had identity issues before but It's a whole new level of twisted. It's so rare I'm grounded and feel like a real person. I feel melancholy as hell rn.

Divine/Patron AU that has been living in my head rent free for literal months
consider an au where Wilbur, Techno, and Dream are all blessed by the personifications of the 3 minecraft dimensions (overworld, nether and end respectively)
they arent children of these gods, they arent vessels to be possessed either
they are vassals instead
they serve their patron gods and do their bidding
ill say this right of the bat, these are not benevolent dieties in fact quite the opposite (we will get to that later)
these 3 dieties are the creators of their respective dimensions, they are the ones who spawn the mobs, generate the terrain etc etc
the problem is that minecraft is an infinite sandbox right? so they in turn must spend infinite amounts of their energy maintaining the existing worlds as well as creating new ones
its no problem cos they are gods right? but heres the catch
these dieties are not all powerful, they DONT have infinite energy
these dieties are powered by entropy, their power of creation is rooted in destruction
thats where the vassals come in
the vassals are agents of chaos and destruction (which is exactly why team chaos aka techno, wilbur and dream are the vassals)
they cause death and destruction because the resulting entropy is what feeds their respective Patron's powers
vassals arent chosen, they arent born, instead they are created
they are blessed by the gods and have certain abilities but thats a whole other post so lets just continue on to my explainations on whos patron is whos.
Technoblade's patron is the Nether God aka THE BLOOD GOD!!! This one is fairly obvious with the popular hc that Techno is either part or fully piglin as well as his famous catch phrase blood for the blood god. Well what place is as red and as bloody as the Nether!
Dream's patron is the End God (I don't actually have another name for the end god but ill think of something). The reason why I assigned Dream the End Diety is because as a speed runner he's been in the end more often than a lot of people and he's killed more ender dragons than most. Also I love the hc that Dream wears a mask because hes part enderman that way he can avoid getting aggro'd by peoples eye contact)
last but not the least mr Wilbur Soot's patron is the Overworld Diety aka the Sky God (wink wink nudge nudge not so subtle reference to Wil's sky blovk series) This is largely because of his 100 player videos where hes just a terrifying god who causes so much destruction (Funfact this entire au spawned from me trying to connect Wil's 100 player vids to DSMP!Wilbur's corruption arc) I think the Overworld is very fitting for Wilbur just like how the Overworld has tons of biomes, is very diversed and very varied, Wilbur is also a man of many personas (argbur, incelbur, etc), many skills and many ideas.
This au was made to provide an alternative motivation to Wil, Techno and Dream (aka team Chaos) on why they were on Chaos' side during the war and why they wanted to blow up L'Manberg but this works outside dsmp canon too! (Also because i really really like the concept of team chaos and wanted to see more of their dynamic)
Hopefully this was coherent lol. If any of you somehow found this brainrot interesting, dont be afraid to ask me questions!! Im more than willing to provide more info!! (like seriously i would love love love to tell yall more about this au, i have a lot of pages filled with worldbuilding, plot bunnies and idea dumps)

please make your critical post of supernatural those are literally the only posts about supernatural i care about, especially since i side eye the heck out of the many people who give supernatural a pass because they ship two boring white dudes (dean and castiel) PLEASE
omg ok nobody make fun of me for posting an earnest criticism of this show i enjoy critical analysis and being a hater
i think most of why this show sucks has already been covered pretty thoroughly but these r the main things abt it that piss ME off.
the racism runs so SO deep. supernatural is supposed to be an exploration of americana thru horror (and i’ll give them that. like the idea of deconstructing america and all its fallacies thru horror is genius and in competent hands it would be absolutely incredible. but anyway) but it only really scrapes the surface of what is inherently horrific about americana! something like that is supposed to be an INTERROGATION of monstrosity and how america (and western society more broadly) creates monsters out of human beings and how white christian morals are established as the ONLY acceptable morals and how anyone who falls outside of those norms (non christian, non white, lgbt, people with substance use disorders, prisoners, the poor, indigenous people/cultures etc) are monsterized, so to speak, because of an oppressive and unloving colonial society. like u cannot have a horror narrative abt monsters attacking family values and white suburban life without invoking some very old and racist conventions! but instead of subverting that supernatural just reinforces it! it consistently fails to make any kind of real statement because the most demonized parts of society are the people who are also treated the WORST in canon! native american beliefs are stolen and turned into stupid bogeymen without the show ever featuring a native character or seriously grappling with the inherent violence of america as a colonial state, black men are consistently portrayed as angry and evil while black women are treated like shit (dean’s happy ending at the end of s5 is with a white woman he fucked one time instead of with the black woman who he was in love with??), impoverished people are mostly ignored and when they’re not theyre monsters (theres one episode centered around a poor rural family that commits murder and cannibalism. no supernatural stuff or monsters. just poor people. thats the scare).
theres this consistent fixation on preserving american suburbia, on saving “normal” (read: white middle class) people and it sets up this dynamic of like. the “real world” is the white middle class and then there’s hunters including our mains who defend that “real world” against monsters and demons, which is just Everything Else. and the writers PRETEND to struggle w the question of monsters and what makes one but they just toss it around without ever actually committing to answering that question with compassion or narrative coherency. they have multiple episodes about characters who were raised human, who want to be human, but have to be killed because of an inherent evil nature. there’s a plot in the early seasons about how one of the main characters has demonic powers, and instead of saying that doesnt make him inherently bad and he’s allowed to fully access all parts of himself without being fundamentally evil, they consistently frame intrinsically neutral traits as inherently evil specifically because they go against a christian ideal of morality! and eventually he learns to suppress these powers and that’s that!
and then it establishes christianity as the guiding principle of america, not in a way of like “american culture and history is deeply steeped in white supremacist protestantism that has led to incredibly fucked up views on god and love and morality and thats what we have to deal with as people who live here”, but in a way of like “the christian god is real and he’s a white guy who fucking hates you.” which like. Ok. they bastardize and trivialize any religions that arent christian while building the entire series on christianity. Ok. like i guess its possible to write stories about white christianity without implying that every other religion is full of shit but supernatural did not do that on any level
its also just. really poorly written. i genuinely loved the first season i thought it was really well paced and that the characters were introduced really well like the first season is a GOOD horror story in terms of family as horror and the inherent terror of americana. but the pacing and the character development started tripping up in s2. by s3 they started raising the stakes Exponentially which honestly is such a kiss of death for good fiction like every season mounting a bigger badder antagonist than the last one is the surest way to kill a story bc it means the earlier entries in that story become basically meaningless in the face of the new bad guy. u dont need to raise the stakes to write a good story! a well written story abt the horror and drama of a close knit and unhealthy family caught up in something they don’t really understand isn’t Less emotionally resonant than, like, having to stop the world from ending, because at the end of the day its Fiction and none of it matters beyond what u can make the audience really Feel. im not gonna feel sorrow if 7 billion fake little people die. i didnt cry when the death star blew up whatever planet it blew up. what DOES make me feel sorrow is a few truly well written characters whose relationships are complicated and tragic and whose motivations i can understand and whose inner lives i can imagine. raising the stakes destroys a good story and thats exactly what happened to supernatural (not that the racism and misogyny and american protestant moralizing wasn’t killing it already)
also, the misogyny makes the female characters basically impossible to watch. like not a single person on that show is a good actor (except sterling k brown love u king u were the best actor that show ever saw) but they didnt even give any of the women anything to work with. its literally so cringey to watch any woman onscreen except maybe like. bela talbot and she was treated like utter shit.
god. you know that expression dont fall in love with potential? i dont do that w people i do it w fiction. i came off black sails and the untamed and frankenstein and i watched the first couple seasons of supernatural with my friend and it was like...there was so much room for it to SAY something about monsters and how society creates them thru violence and how deeply horrific american protestantism is. like theres so many questions and concepts that it brought up that it never actually SAID something about. shithole of wasted potential. and yeah dean and castiel is stupid there i said it

dont feel sad or ashamed if your fanfic/personal writing is short. you arent obliged to get to a thousand words, let alone a few thousand, for every work, even if it feels like u are
& remember, people will still read it! sometimes u dont want to read a really long fic, and other people will feel the same
and it’s not realistic to expect urself to be able to come up with fully-fledged, 10k fics with coherent plots and character development all the time! go easy on yourself! post that 300 word trashy wolfstar, that klance drabble, the texting AU! people will want to read it, i promise

Joyce, I hereby demand ur full thoughts on the SuperM debut, pretty please
neo godbless u for letting me talk about thiiiissssss 💕sorry this is definitely going to be not very coherent.
I haven’t listened to the full album yet so i’ll just talk about jopping mostly. Spoiler: im pretty into it ill maybe do a full proper post later when i have time
The song itself im pretty into. tbh its very much in a style that I enjoy. strong beat to work off of with a good balanced pacing. I love the verses way more than the chorus to be quite honest. I think partially because the chorus feels like it’s trying too hard to be so ‘epic’. BUT i will say that i think its what will save it in terms of the American market. The phrase ‘left to the right we gon make it make it rain’ is definitely shit i can see people absorbing easily. The electric guitar riff also big sexy. The sound still sounds very sm and almost sounds like how they tend to concert remixes (idk if that makes sense?). shout out to marks verse cause its my favourite. ALSO I ALMOST DIDN’T RECOGNISE TENS VOICE. Taemin as always is my kpop king. The goddamn adlibs in this song are also ridiculous. All in all yeah im pretty into it and its definitely going into my monthly playlist.
i really wish the mv had less! like there’s so much going on throughout the whole mv its got so much frenetic energy. i get the whole ‘epic’ aspect sooman wanted to evoke. but its overshadowed the artists. the mv really didn't give any of the members a chance to fully shine (other than tens sick ass dance break). Personally would love to have gotten more shots of the choreo that didn't have the camera fucking zooming in and out like a 13 y/o tiktok star. Also would of been nice to get some kind of iconic shot of each member so that people who arent familiar with superm could have a reference to the members themselves.
.....jk i listened to the album while writing this.
I am very surprised at how kpop this sounds. To be quite honest i was worried sm was gonna package superm to be more friendly to the American public but im very pleased that they haven’t changed their style really at all.
if i had to order the b-sides from favourite to least itd probably be: 2 fast > i cant stand the rain > no manners > super car

Archie Mega Man: No, it’s ACTUALLY about ethics in video game robotics!
Tumblr media
Alright guys, cards on the table: I’ve talked a big game about what I like about the comic so far, with words like theming and worldbuilding and fleshed out characters, but now we’re really getting into it. We’re about to take our first real dive into the story that Flynn has been prepping for us. We’ve had fun in the first three arcs, setting up the stories to come with talks of free will and what it means to be a self aware robot, mashed in with fun adventures and at least one robot dog.
But now the kid gloves are...well, they’re still on, because this is still the super fighting robot comic and we have a lot of goofy adventures left in us. But! we’re switching to something cool, something that says less Mickey Mouse and more...Sonic the Hedgehog.
So let’s put on out fingerless kids gloves and dive into Spiritus Ex Machina, or TERRORISM AND THE ETHICS OF CREATING FEELING MACHINES!
Heads up, this is a long one.
Tumblr media
With Dr Wily foiled again and seemingly off the radar, the Light family is afforded some relative peace -- and just in time for the Advanced Robotics Trade Show! It’s a time of meeting new faces and reuniting with old friends, and we are introduced to two of Doctor Light’s oldest friends and fellow roboticists: Dr. Mikhail Cossack and Dr. Noelle Lalinde.
The trade show isn't just about exchanging ideas, as Doctors Light and Lalindre take the stage to debate robotic ethics; namely, is it right to give a thinking, feeling AI to a robot meant for dangerous tasks? Is it ethical to let a robot feel emotion, even negative ones?
The debate gets heated, but before it can continue, the convention is hijacked by a terrorist group known as the Emerald Spears (ha, ha). The Spears are a militant anti-machine group, and they seek to put an end to the field of robotics through any means necrssary-- first through debate, then with the explosions they’ve planted around the convention center.
That leaves Mega Man, Roll and his new companions Pharoh Man and Quake Woman with little time and fewer options to save the day-- because while they’re programmed to help, how can they when they can’t harm humans?
Tumblr media
And here we are! We’ve finally arrived at the meat and potatoes of Archie’s Mega Man, and what Flynn has been working toward for the past few arcs. Everything I said I loved about the comic takes shape here, built atop the foundation laid in Time Keeps On Slipping and even the first four issues.
There’s a lot to enjoy here, so let’s take things part by part.
Since Mega Man X introduced repolids and their free will, the franchise has had great potential for a conversation about the ethics of robotics, about how far science can go, or how far it should go. This is a conversation that Ian Flynn is clearly interested in, and the comic is all the better for it. It’s these questions that, while in the background of the last three arcs, are now irrevocably hanging  over the cast’s heads, looming over everything they do.
Is it right to create thinking, feeling robots? If we give them the ability to feel and choose, are we putting a gun to our head? Conversely, if we limit those choices, are we condemning thinking, sentient creatires to a shackled, hollow existence? Is it fair to take away that independence, especially if they won’t be able to care about what you’ve taken?  At what point does the gift of life become a cruelty-- and to whom is it the most cruel?
If I’m sounding a bit pretentious, I hope you’ll forgive me--but these are the kinds of questions that drive the comic from here on out. And while Rock and his allies continue to struggle against the forces of evil, at times those supervillians merely serve as merciful distractions from the real, troubling implications of he world Thomas Light has ushered in. A world that, by series canon, arguably ends up hurting more than it does heal.
It’s a wonderful level of nuance that Flynn brings to this setting, and one that grounds the otherwise cartoony classic era in a way that more naturally leads into the darker X series-- while still preserving the fiun spirit of it all. I’ll admit, I’m something of a sucker for these “soft existential crisis”angles in scifi stories, and the comic manages to balance it out with the super heroics admirably.
In fact, it’s that balance that drives the arc’s central conflict!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rock isn’t fighting a group of rogue, reprogrammed robots, here. The Emerald Spears are wholly human, and that doesn’t just tie our heroes’ hands, it shackles them. Elec Man openly gripes about his uselessness, even bringing up that if he still had Wily’s evil programming, the story might have ended a lot sooner.
(Which, itself, is very relevant to the arc’s proceedings)
The conflict is something of a puzzle-- how do our heroes save the day without breaking the one rule they literally can’t break? The answer becomes working around he Spears, tricking them where they can and disarming them to reduce their threat. Ironically, it isn’t until the Spear’s impromptu new leader, Xander Payne (who we’ll get to in a moment), loses his patience and gets trigger happy that our heroes can fully fight back.
All the while the doctors trade words with the Spears’ leadership, continuing the ethics debate started at the arc’s beginning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s a brilliant blending of physical and philosophical conflict, each joined together for a coherent, compelling storyline. This is easily the best the run has seen, with a gripping and intelligent arc that also sets up the stories and themes to come.
I know I’ve been repeating that a lot over the course of these pseudoreviews, so here’s the best time as any to just lay out our themes -- Flynn’s themes. Themes of what it means to be a living, thinking machine, and of what impact living machines have on the world. Themes of scientific progress, and where we should or even can draw the line. Themes of forgiveness -- who we can forgive, and who we maybe should stop giving chances to, and can we forgove ourselves? What consequences do our actions have, and at what point do good intentions stop mattering?
These are the questions the comic asks time and again, and rearely do they have clear cut answers, because these arent questions that can be answered simply.  But they’re questions that need to be asked, and are asked, and the comic is just...so much better for it, guys.
Hey, I said up top this reread would be a lot of gushing.
But let’s start talking nice about other stuff this good good arc does right!
Tumblr media
As I said back in the first storyline, Flynn makes good use of his Mega Man lore to worldbuild. In three arcs, we’ve gotten references to Blues and Mr X, heaps and heaps of foreshadowing to the X era, and now we sre formally introduced to the Cossacks and future Mega Man 4 boss Pharaoh Man. It really ties the setting together-- of course these titans of robotics would know each other outside of Wily attacks. It’s also just nice to see these characters have a tangible presence in the workd prior to their “intended”  introduction in their respective games.
Plus, lookit that big hug Thomas gives his friend. That’s cute as heck!!
But even with the worldbuilding, it also gives us that sweet, sweet dramatic irony we love.
Tumblr media
Yeah Pharaoh Man, thats sounds like it would be rough!!
Flynn gets a little cheeky with the irony and he foreshadowing, but it honestly gets me every time and I love it.
But this arc doesn’t also just bring out the goods with established characters/- we also get a whole feast of brand new original characters!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spiritus Ex Machina introduces us to Dr. Noelle Lalinde and her own robot master, Tempo, also known as Quake Woman. And guys? You know I talked a lot of love for Agents Stern and Krantz. I love them. They were great characters when they were inteoduced, and they will continue to be great characters in every story they feature in.
But I absolute ADORE the Lalinde family, and Tempo herself may just be my favorite of all the comic’s original characters.
(Also, say hi to Pedro in the corner there! He’ll be important soon, and meshes the comic’s strengths of OCs AND established characters.)
In addition to adding a much appreciated female presence to the Mega Man Universe, Tempo and Lalinde embody many of the comic’s themes of sentient AI, robot emotions and familial forgiveness. Theirs is a tragic, but ultimately happy, story of pain, loss and growth. I. Love. Them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This arc primarily focuses on Dr Lalinde, and how Tempo’s accident affected her and hew worldview-- explaining the hard stance she took against Thomas “my robots are my children” Light during the debate.
Tempo is more of a...presence than a character here, which is the point-- Lalinde took something from her, something unimaginably precious, and left her literally a shell of what she once was. Future issues will focus more on Quake Woman herself, and we’ll get to see how these same effects impact her, so I’ll save that discussion for later. This post is already getting long enough, and I haven’t even touched on the bad guys yet!!
Tumblr media
The Emerald Spears are...alright antagonists. They serve as effective bad guys in Dr Wily’s absence, and their more realistic approach to terrorism contrasts well with the Mad Doctor’s own theatrics and literal mustache twirling. I don’t see Xander payne chainsawing a Japanese cyprus with a cord plugged into it.
They also provide a more philosophical counter, by harshly and violently pushing back against the pro-robotics ideals of Dr Light and his colleagues. They fear and hate the dangers advanced robotics pose, and are working to prevent the undermining and extinction of humanity. And honestly? Take one look at the X series -- heck, the Zero series!! -- and tell me they’re not a little right to worry.
I mean, they’re absolute monsters who threaten countless lives in pursuit of a bruitish, self serving and discriminatory worldview but uh...things really arent great for humanity in any of the multiple bloody robot wars that consume the planet over several series and centuries.
What I’m saying is, theres another layer of dramatic irony when your shortsighted, idiotic doomsday cult happens to be right, you know? This never happens in the Battle Network timeline!
The Emerald Spears are bunch of preachy, annoying jerks, but their presence is welcome in this setting, even if Xander Payne is an absolute weenie!!
Tumblr media
In what appears to be a soft retcon, Xander Payne is (re)introduced to us as this sunglasses dude from Issue #2. Since hen he’s become a fanatical, robot-hating terrorist leader because, uh...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because Elec Man zapped him and now he’s got a sick robot eye??
Ok, so Xander’s is not exactly the most...tragic of backstories, especially by this comic’s standards. He might be, in fact, 100 percent a dick. And yeah, that mostly has to do with him trying to bomb a bunch of innocents and his own men, but its really informed by him being such a baby about it all!
I’m of two minds with Payne-- on one hand, he’s kind of a whiny baby throwing a tantrum at advanced robotics, and he has a really gross pencil stache. But again, there’s a certain narrative beauty to a major antagonist being this much of a weenie while, again, kind of also being right!
His presence is not as irritating as it could be, and he largely justifies himself with later, far more interesting revelations than “I never asked for this sweet robot eye.”
But enough about that! lets talk about he really interesting bad guy!
Tumblr media
Dr Wily rules the B Plot of this arc, which sees him exploring the mysterious Lanafront Ruins and discovering several ancient technologies-- the largest of which begins building for him a brand new army of robot masters.
This is largely set up for future arcs, the Super Adventure Rockman adaptation in particular, but--
Actually, can we take a moment to sppreciate how cool it is that the comic adapts Super Adventure Rockman of all things? And well before Mega Man 3! That is just so wild to me, and reson #413,612 why I adore Ian Flynn’s writing.
But anyway, In addition to setting up future arcs and adaptations, Dr Wily’s subplot here lays the foundation of the...well, of the Wily Family. The Wilybots had loads of personality in the MM2 arc, and that doesn’t go away when Ra Moon ressurects them. They banter, talk with each other, welcome in the newcomer MM3 bots and...it’s really solid setup for character beats to come. Wily and his robots have been fairly straightforward antagonists to now, but once he Curse of Ra Moon takes its toll, the character development train barrels toward them at full speed.
But we’ll get to that.
For now, we leave the arc with one last character introduction, though we’ve seen him at least once before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If it isn’t apparent by now, I think Spiritus Ex Machina is a wonderful, wonderful story arc. It’s a kind of turning point for the comic, where the storytelling steps away from the face value of super fighting robot antics and really considers their consequences and implications.
It’s where the comic’s  world really comes alive, with more characters and a more realized setting. Things are different from here on out, in exciting and wonderful ways. Like I said last time, hearts will be broken, allies will be made, and worlds will collide -- and I’ll be loving every second of it.
God bless this comic, y’all.

do you identify as heterosexual? I'm just curious because you've reblogged a few posts about why cis men dating trans men is not gay
Im bisexual, but my current relationship is heterosexual because I am female and dating a male. If i were dating a female, that relationship would be homosexual.
Taking testosterone and havig top surgery allow me to live my life passing as male socially, and these cosmetic changes are how I choose to cope with sex dysphoria. But they dont literally change my sex to male, that’s not biologically possible.
It is important to have a coherent definition to the word homosexual, even if that definition is onvalidating to people who believe in gender. Gender is a construct, sex is reality, and the reality of a homosexual life and relationship cannot be talked about and protected by law without a definition rooted in reality.
People arent attracted to someone’s internal feelings. They are attracted to individuals of the same sex (homosexual), both sexes (bisexual) or the opposite sex (heterosexual), possibly no sexes (asexual).
Gay men will never like vagina, even if that vagina causes you dysphoria. Lesbians will never like dick, even if that dick causes you dysphoria.
(I am not accusing you of having any particular beliefs but wanted to wxplain my reasoning as fully as I can)

Yeah, I don't think Destiel is endgame sadly. The Sam/Eileen story made be believe a new is possible, but no, and they arent go have only one brother find love. I think the show isnt ever going to change, and thats its biggest problem. In the series finale Cas will be placed where Kevin, Charlie, Eileen were before him (the big finale death, for the biggest character after Sam and Dean) and Sam n Dean will drive off in the Impala like at the end of every ep; All quiet on the Western front.
THEY KILLED EILEEN. WHAT. THE. HELL. I saw your post, and I have to ask--does this seriously hurt your expectations of Dabb and where SPN is going
Ack! More asks that I totally missed. Sorry. I am gonna address these both in one post as they are similar themes and I guess I should start with a disclaimer here:
***these are my opinions only and do not reflect the views of other meta writers - seriously if you want positivity and hope please reach out to @tinkdw and @mittensmorgul who are doing a top notch job of controlling the fandom fire and who you should probably listen to more than me because I have become a grumpy old cow recently and am not doing the best job of controlling my cynicism and negativity.***
I should also mention that I have not, and will not, watch 12x21. I don’t need to feel more crappy and I couldn’t give a damn about Mary being brainwashed or Ketch becoming a stereotypical bond villain (or in fact, a stereotype of a parody of a Bond villain since his last act was closer to something Dr Evil from Austin Powers would do than an actual Bond Villain or so I’ve read) So I can’t comment on specifics from that episode.
“Yeah, I don't think Destiel is endgame sadly. The Sam/Eileen story made be believe a new is possible, but no, and they arent go have only one brother find love.”
Nonny I feel your pain, however I do still think Destiel is endgame. its funny, but I have thought about it a lot over the past few days and I cannot possibly see any way this show will end without destiel being part of it somehow. It does all depend on how you view ‘endgame’ though.
Because if you mean endgame as in ‘Dean and Cas kiss and confess their love and settle down with a house’ happy ending then no, I don’t think they will get ‘endgame’, but if you mean ‘destiel will be canon on the show’ then yeah I still think its true.
Sam and Eileen was the difference between Dean and Cas getting a moment of hand holding or a kiss before a big fight in which they die and its a tragedy, and Dean and Cas getting to live and settle down Jesse and Cesar style. Either way, Destiel goes Canon, but Eileen made the difference to how.
Other meta writers are gonna disagree with this. But if Eileen remains dead then I do not see a happy ending to this show. Because they will not bring in another love interest for Sam at this late stage. Therefore, as you rightly say, they won’t give Dean a romantic story that ends in a ‘and they lived happily ever after’ kind of way. Saileen mirrored Destiel and the way I see it, without a mirror romantic arc for Sam, I don’t see how we will get any sort of romance for Dean either (unless they actually do decide to just end on a repeat of Swan Song though I KNOW that will piss off a lot of people).
And yes I know that you can have endgames that don’t include romance, and that romance isn’t everything. I agree with that, but I am convinced that Sam and Dean’s endgames will be in balance with one another. Having Dean and Cas settle down together doesn’t make sense in this story if Sam is left alone. It is unbalanced and goes against a lot of what this show is about: two brothers and their lives hunting together.
(oh god I really don’t mean to sound like a bibro there but you know what I mean. balance is key. The fundamental core of this show is family and found family and it is so much more than just ‘two brothers’ but basically what I am trying to say is that you cannot round up one brothers story and leave the others open ended. It won’t work for the format this show uses.)
“I think the show isnt ever going to change, and thats its biggest problem.”
I think if Bucklemming keep writing for them, and Bob Singer keeps his grubby little hands on the story, then yeah its not likely to change. This show will always have majorly flawed episodes. The thing is, I still believe Dabb is trying to make this show better. He has already come quite far in doing that. The season 11 finale showed us that, and Dean’s character arc this season is superb.
The problem is more that Dabb seems to have a case of tunnel vision on Dean’s character arc. He is spending a lot of time chipping away at Dean’s mask and forgetting Sam, somewhat forgetting Cas, and pretty much completely forgetting to give us a coherent mytharc plot.
Whether the whole Dean focus is to prepare the GA for his eventual coming out of the closet I can’t truly say (though I believe this is the case). It really annoys me how much Sam has been left behind. The one person who Sam had bonded with, who was a character that we, as an audience, could use to gain better insight into Sam outside of his brothers POV was killed off by incompetent buffoons. Dabb would have had to sign off on this terrible decision. Does he just not care about Sam’s development?
The other major issue is representation. I thought season 12 was doing so well. Then they killed off three POC ladies and a disabled character in the second half of the season. Yet Lucifer gets an absurd plot when frankly, he should have been back in the cage or dead after episode 8. Why were the BMOL two freaking white guys? Why didn’t Lady Toni get Mick’s story line from the start? Why couldn’t either Mick or Ketch be black? or Asian? or Gay? or a Woman? or ALL of those things or ANYTHING other than a straight white guy?!? BRITAIN IS EXTREMELY MULTICULTURAL AND 51% OF US ARE WOMEN. USE IT!!!
So yeah, its never gonna change. My advice? Don’t watch Bucklemming episodes.
“In the series finale Cas will be placed where Kevin, Charlie, Eileen were before him (the big finale death, for the biggest character after Sam and Dean) and Sam n Dean will drive off in the Impala like at the end of every ep; All quiet on the Western front.”
Now this I don’t believe, because this would just be a major regression and would be the biggest mistake a finale could make since How I Met Your Mother. In the finale episode of the finale season, I reckon they are all gonna die. Then perhaps they will reunite in heaven with all their previous friends and family. I do NOT think that the series will end with Cas separated from the brothers. This is something I still have faith in. Cas IS a Winchester. He belongs with them. Whether they live or die in the end, he will be with them. Either they all die, or none of them will. Unless by that point Bucklemming are showrunners *shudder*can you imagine that?!? In that instance I would quit the show on principle.
I don’t think the show will end with the Winchesters alone in the world, living on whilst everyone they love is dead and the world is a burnt wasteland... you might as well put them back in hell... its not romantic or poetic no matter what your average bibro may think. I actually don’t think even Bucklemming would give us an ending like that.
“Does this seriously hurt your expectations of Dabb and where SPN is going?”
On to Nonny No2′s excellent question which well, I probably answered above. But to use this as a summary. Yes.
Eileen’s death hurt my expectations because it was the cherry on top of a lot of things this season that have slowly been chipping away at my positivity.
Look, I think some of you may have noticed that I haven’t really been as active as I once was on here. I have struggled to answer asks and when I do, my tone has changed from the optimistic, enthusiastic tone I used to have.
Honestly, SPN has been upsetting me for a while. The mytharc plot isn’t engaging me. Mary’s story doesn’t interest me because I don’t think they have done her emotional story justice. They instead chose to purposely make her unlikable to the point where a lot of fandom hopes she’ll be killed off. Do you have any idea how disappointing that is? I was so excited for Mary to be brought back, along with everything she symbolised for the show. I don’t think her character has been done justice.
I felt this way with Amara. I wanted to love her so much but they ruined her and turned her into a sexual predator. I wanted to love Lady Toni as a fully rounded character - a strong British woman having to fight for her voice in an ancient organisation run by old men. The made her into a one dimensional psychopathic rapist. Sometimes I think these writers just arn’t very good at writing female characters outside of ‘sexy twenty something waitress’ for Dean to screw around with to prove his heterosexuality.
The whole Lucifer storyline is driving me crazy. He is so boring and my god I miss season 5 Lucifer. Hell, even Casifer, but Pellegrino is just being absurd now and the joke got old quick. I don’t care about the Nephilim, even now that it has its hooks in Cas.
What happened to the Grand Coven? Couldn’t we have got a war between BMOL and Grand Coven? I want more witches. More spells. Witch!Sam and Human!Cas. That’s the story they should be telling. I haven’t liked how they’ve handled the British Men of Letters because they don’t seem like a real enough threat to me. Plus I don’t like all the dumb British jokes like seriously these writers have no idea what British people are like.
This season for me has been saved by 12x06,12x10,12x11, and 12x12. But I have been disappointed overall. Unlike many of my fellow meta writers, I am not all that enthusiastic about the finale. I want so very much to be excited about it and join in with the speculation and theories but I just can’t force it anymore.
The one thing I have faith in is that we will get canon destiel before series end. Even if its just a shot of them interlinking their fingers and smiling at each other before they go off to their deaths. I am convinced that Dabb will give us that. My problem isn’t about destiel anymore. Its whether the destiel subplot is enough to keep me engaged whilst the main plot goes down the drain. Its whether the destiel subplot is going to keep me going whilst I have to watch them continuously butcher every female character on the show.
I’m not sure I can do it anymore. My faith in Dabb is at a record low after 12x21 and I dunno what it will take to bring me back up.
Well, actually I do know. Eileen. Bring her back, right the wrong and put the story back on track. Then pull your shit together and get some more original characters into the show who arn’t all generic white guy clones. Bring back Charlie. Put Cas in more episodes. Kill Lucifer off for good and make Rowena a series regular. Put Cas in the same fucking episodes as Claire Novak FFS. Give Sam a goddamn story outside of his brother. Witch!Sam!! Or Man of Letters Sam. And finally, bring Dean out of that fucking closet once and for all.
Do all that and I will kiss the ground Dabb walks on. Untill then? well, I dunno if you’ll be hearing much from me in the future that’s all. I may just well and truly be done with this show.
