it's been a while since i tried looking, but i did hear that something like this happens last year and over time started to think, "was it a fluke?" bc no one posted footage or caps of it then, and i aimed for a completionist run in my first playthrough. turns out it's real! and definitely shines a new light on a character that, for most other types of playthroughs, will not give this much emotion! What would anarchist Tumblr look like? Could any of the words in the ToS make sense without a top-down authority dictating how to "properly" define things like spam?

Go look at any open source project.

You could get together a group of people who could agree on a number of things, like what spam is and what is or isn't allowed on the platform, and you could have users vote on that kind of thing as they join, and eventually what's going to happen is that people will join the platform in bad faith, take advantage of the gaps in the rules, and be really difficult to remove in a fair and democratic way. You are also going to end up with a small number of people doing the majority of the work and feeling hard done by when people who don't understand the work that goes into making changes demand changes and outvote the engineers (though you can mitigate that by saying "you can demand any change that you personally can implement" but then you'll get people complaining that there's a hierarchy of programmers running the site, or worse, you'll have bad actors who are also programmers who will implement shitty changes).

(also this is highly theoretical because a lot of the words in the ToS are mandated by the laws of the country that the platform is registered in or the laws of the countries it is operating in - if your definition of spam is fucky it'll just mess with who wants to use your platform; if your definition of IP law is fucky assholes in cheap suits are going to start knocking on your door and handing you notices of service)

If you want an anarchist website you don't want a platform, you just want to go and make your own website.

That is, unfortunately, difficult, it can be expensive, and it doesn't scale.

IDK. Much love and respect for anarchists (i consider myself one) and other flavors of leftist but I feel like before any anarchist decides to get started on a big project they should go interface with people in the real world in some setting that requires parliamentary procedure and then watch the ways in which people will fuck with those systems. You only need to see one group fall apart because there is no means of removing bad actors before you realize that you need to build that into all your projects in the future or you're dooming them to schisms.

Basically your question made me think about how I would go about trying to start a social media platform for anarchists and I immediately went "NOPE, I WOULD NOT DO THAT." (Also it's just not a priority; if I was going to start a website that was doomed to failure it would be about, like, abortion access or a map of free resources or I would simply not start a website and would just use that time for some kind of mutual support network)

i started replaying totk recently, i say replaying bc i did buy and play it when it was first released but dropped it after a couple days bc i was busy w stuff. and so i'm doing a lot of things now for the first time and obv i can't help comparing it to botw and it's genuinely got me so upset how link has been forgotten by so many people, all the people he helped in botw all the quests he did are just meaningless, all my registered horses were carried over but they couldn't keep the character interactions? all the champions are mentioned once with the exception of mipha there's no memories or divine beasts. the zora who had remembered link for 100 years had forgotten him since botw how is that possible. i had to make an ugly house near tarrey town to hang my weapons bc the hateno house was no longer mine 😭😭😭 somehow it made the game feel lonelier, even though botw was more empty there was much emotion in it.

it's not that i hated totk i liked exploring and finding new outfits, the dragons, rediscovering my favourite places etc but idk i was genuinely tearing up thinking about the champions being forgotten and all of link's previous sacrifices meaning nothing. sorry to send these random messages i don't follow anyone else who still blogs about zelda 😭😭

No, I know exactly what you mean! 😢 Honestly (lol can't remember if I've already said this before or not, so maybe I'm re-ranting here, but) my personal take is that totk shouldn't have been a sequel game, especially because Nintendo doesn't like to concern themselves with the continuity between games that a direct sequel like this just needs. With some tweaking/set up/rewriting, totk could have worked as a stand-alone story, and then they wouldn't have had to take away from what botw achieved in the name of making it more approachable to new players.

And yeah, I didn't hate it either! I liked the gameplay and the weapons system and the feeling of stakes whenever you entered a new town and saw how things had all gone to shit. Loved the wells. I just think it was too eager to pretend botw didn't exist while at the same time leaning on it so heavily that it would fall to pieces if you tried to extract the botw out of it :P

so after joker gets hit by a train solomon gives him this mysterious green liquid. i've been wondering what it was, my first though was maybe there was an undiscovered lazarus pit in the sewers or something like that. but i was rereading task force z and

it's lazarus resin!!!

maybe grundy grabbed a vial when he tackled bloom? but either way that is definitely the same type of vial and the color is similar (not identical but that's likely bc different artists/colorists!)

my running assumption has been that this line was metaphorical but it's not! it's literal!!! joker DID die when he got hit by the train but grundy brought him back with a vial of lazarus resin!

and i've been making mental connections between tfz and tmwsl the entire time but it was kinda theoretical (and still is!) but the lazarus resin thing makes my theories more plausible for sure imo

so in tfz there are clones, amelia, delia, and celia. the powers company has cloning tech. and they also have memory replacement tech!!! that's what they did with the fake bane! they tampered with his memories. the thinker says that he has cognitive profiles of metahumans but in issue 12 bloom manages to resurrect a dead corpse with the powers company resources and make it think that it's jason todd/red hood, who is definitely not a meta, so evidently they have tech to do the same for non-metas

so my theories are that either:

1. they cloned joker and implanted memories in the clone. this could maybe connect to the network plot in the joker (2021)

2. they found a very fresh corpse with a striking resemblance to joker, and then maybe gave him a nice acid bath and implanted the memories (or they found a way to do this with living people)

i think it's highly likely at this point that sewer rat undead!joker is the real joker, especially after knight terrors. so now the question is: if i'm right about this, who's behind the other (LA) joker? harvey? did bloom somehow survive? geri powers? maybe even waller? and what are they up to? is LA joker an escaped experiment or does whoever's controlling him have an agenda?

i was on youtube checking my notifications and i saw on my subscriptions feed that mumbo had the little red dot so i gasped very loudly and very excited, because that meant mumbo posted and i just hadn’t noticed, since i always find out mumbo posted by my subscriptions feed

last video i found out via notification.

the subscriptions feed only updates when you look at it, not when you have looked at the video in question.

the disappointment was immense.
