so i started this show and it just gets worse and worseeeee not only did it lift the romance subplot directly from twilight (and not well) but they also are trying to play the forbidden love angle hard in the fantasy racism vein except it's a "cross-species" relationship between the two whitest people i've ever seen in my life and there are three people of color in the whole (first season of the) show who aren't villains and it seems that every other episode (and sometimes ebery episode and sometimes twice an episode!) there is a man physically or magically subjugating a woman and i keep waiting for the big reveal at the end to be stolen from fucking rainbow rowell

What’s the picky eaters AU?
just my little self-indulgent vampire au, that somehow, accidentally, not on purpose ended up being very focused on feeding mechanics. hence the stupid name.
#in the initial au planning stages i happened to get very attached to the idea of supremely fussy vampire baby dazai#food intolerances and pickiness are an essential part of the fussy infant package i think#so that led me to contemplate how blood could actually function as a food source#what factors might influence how it tastes#what nuances a creature that is specifically built to sustain itself on only blood might pick up on#atypical feeding habits (possibly caused by physical ailments or genetics)#nutritional value…#can you cook blood? artificially flavour it? add unregulated food dyes to make it glow in the dark?#…pickle it?#suck blood clots like candy#i don’t fucking know#just lots and lots of supernatural pseudo-biology#i’m not sure how much of that i can actually realistically convey through art#very questionable even when looking at pieces i drew with specific headcanons in mind#so to anyone else this probably looks like the most bog-standard vampire au one could possibly come up with#but in my heart this au is 95% about food

Art installations that don’t take themselves too seriously my beloved
#🎃 cryptid sighting#Misadventures around Portland#Rat King’s Bazaar of the Bizarre#Mike Bennett art#It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to a gallery opening/art event kinda thing- it felt good to get out to one again!#The fact that the installation about a Rat King taking over a fantasy town opened the same day as the coronation- I SEE WHAT YOU DID MIKE#Though I’d trust the rat king more than any human royal#Also- I love faux taxidermy mounts and this was such a fun take on that!#Especially the critters’ butts as matching trophies in the Rumpus Room#All the scenery & characters were layered 2D art standees like this. It had a funhouse/dark ride feel that was really unique!#I’m sorry to say that although he’s done shows like this around town before- I’ve never gone to one#It’s tough to haul my carcass to these kinds of things when no one I know is going-#- but I really should. It was a great little show & gave me some possible future project ideas#The scariest creature in that room though? The thing in the mask :)#🎃 Photographic Evidence#(Also the human trophy was the artist’s cameo hdhdhdhdh)
