sonadow is genuinely a really good ship that makes a lot of sense if u let go of homophobia and "cringe" and just think about it.

they match each others dynamic SO well, very protective of one another, literal two sides of the same coin w direct parallel experiences, the fruity looks they give each other, shadow being the only one able to keep up w him even in super form, sonic being a lot like maria

hi! i just wanted to say your work is so endlessly inspiring. the way you use space is so interesting, specifically your choice of positive and negative space feels really thoughtful. i started linocutting a few months ago and am learning it is not easy to make those choices lol

its also really special to see your art come to life after its fired. knowing that your finished pieces are out there and someone gets to love it physically and maybe eat or drink from it is so awesome

i just wanted to aknowledge how many layers of talent are going on here, and i hope you hear that often. im happy to have found you and cant wait to see what you make next

I really have learned to think about positive and negative space differently because of sgraffito. I think it helped me evolve as an artist tbh.

I’d done some linocut before, and it was always a challenge to make those decisions. though it does get a bit easier with practice. and deciding whether I want to carve away the positive or the negative always requires a bit of thought

linocut/sgraffito are more restrictive than some art forms, which I always find provokes a lot more thought during the design process. linocut maybe even moreso, because I can hide flaws in sgraffito carvings, but if you’re making prints …it cannot be hidden lol

I also love thinking about my pottery out there on people’s shelves, in their cupboards, in their hands ❤️ I always enjoy seeing the pictures people share of my work in their homes

Man, so often on here I'll see something where I feel like the post is making a really great point, but then is also turning around and being mean spirited about people doing their own thing?

Like not liking a ship is fine. Not liking that other people like a ship for reasons you don't agree with and dragging people over that sucks? You can critique a ship, but you don't have to make it out that other people are doing it wrong for liking it.

The aerialbots share one room (positive) and so do the stunticons (negative).

wildrider and breakdown share a bunk bed but wildrider sleeps under his bed. dead end and drag strip share a bunk, dead end did ask to sleep in a coffin when he learned about vampires but his request was denied. they all tried to smother motormaster in his sleep but forgot cybertronians don't breathe through their mouths so mm just woke up with a pillow on his face.

fireflight wasn't allowed to sleep on the top bunk bc the team was afraid he'd roll over and fall, so air raid took the top and now he rolls over and falls twice a week but refuses to give up his top bunk status. skydive and slingshot constantly fight over the night light, skydive cant sleep unless its 100% pitch black and slingshot is afraid of the dark but would never admit it even though everyone knows

The other post I made about it was pretty vent-y so I'm going to make another one on the same subject, but;

Going into spaces specifically intended for the positive appreciation or enjoyment of something with the intent to be negative or the attempt to convert it to a negative space is both a shitty thing to do and it Will Not get you the result you want.

As one reblogger on the post said; Reddit is appalling for this, but Tumblr is already hot on its heels.

People create spaces around the things they enjoy because, well, they enjoy them. They want a space to create and share that enjoyment. They want a space where they can cycle that positivity into content and community.

These spaces are founded on the enjoyment of the source and the belief that it is good. TV shows, movies, books, games. These spaces are based on the pure fact that the people within them, by majority, like what they are consuming.

And obviously, that doesn't mean you can't be critical of aspects of it, or not like parts of it, or be disappointed with things that have happened. But the point is that the good should vastly outweigh the bad.

And if you're trying to wedge yourself into those positive spaces with the bad outweighing the good, that is not the space for you. That is not the purpose of the space, nor is it fair to the people who created that space with the intent of being positive.

It is not, by any means, toxic positivity to have a specific place designed to revolve around the enjoyment of and positive perception of something.

That place is not for you and your voice. Your voice does not have the right to speak over theirs within that space. Positive spaces are not obligated to allow you to speak within them.

You're not going to change minds by being negative in those positive spaces. You're just going to make people avoid you and dislike you and be unwilling to listen to what you have to say.
