Watching other, bigger fandoms makes me appreciate this one so much. The amount of insane discourse I’ve seen just by lurking is absolutely nuts. Like, look at any big fandom and then look at us here. We’re not even a village, a village implies beef between the neighbors. We’re just a circle of pals over a campfire. We all know each other and any different views we have becomes biodiversity in our lovely ecosystem. We’re singing Kumbaya and roasting marshmallows instead of each other. Any ‘discourse’ we have is just jokes we make up to amuse ourselves. I love you guys.
#the good omens fandom has discourse I would not touch with a five foot pole I swear to God#and 80% of them could be solved by ‘I respect and appreciate your interpretation of the source material but I see it differently :)#let’s keep on making the sort of content we like and not following each other if it bothers us. good day :)’#(not to say that there aren’t Some people there that have legitimately concerning views that can’t be just ignored)#but they prefer to Kill each other instead. it’s carnage over there#meanwhile we’re giving each other PowerPoint presentations on whether the Pooka is hot or not#and clapping after the end of each one#wife speaks

The Undead Of Winter, Introduction
The Undead of Winter
two slugcats, forever bound to walk the world
things that will forever haunt them echo on the icy winds
things that will forever hurt them watch in dark shadows
but there is never a lack of hope for healing from the things that hide on the edge of your reality
[ A bit more info, Character references, and a special message at the end under the cut! ]
first things first,
The Saint, also called Wallow, White, or Blender
This little guy has gone through. Far. Far too much. But we'll see how things go for him from here
(Pronouns are He/Its)
The Artificer, also called Beasty, Bomber, Heretic, or Booster
This not so little guy has also been through a lot, she's become something a bit more than a little violent rodent nowadays though...
(Pronouns He/She/They)
almost Immediately when I shared the Saint's design with some friends, my friend @draagu (sorry if tagging's not alright let me know and I will nnot do it again) was like "I wanna hug him" (since then I've had at least 5 people say the same thing lasjdfl;akdfjs;aljsf [As they should this man needs many hugs])
so I doodled that
here's a goofier doodle of the two
also featuring a little cameo from some art by @pookapufferfishjsad;lfkjasdf because I did these twos' designs while me and pooka were doing some drawing together
(which was still really fun oh my goodness I'm excited to do it again sometime)
and now!!!
A little bit more of a serious (?? ish??) note
The Undead of Winter is a project I'm really excited for
it's not gonna be anything too massive, but I just hope all who choose to watch and view enjoy the show
this project is going to be very personal for me, I'm leaning on writing styles that comfort me, and choosing to share them because I think it'll be nice, and one thing that comforts me is big angst, and what follows, the big healing
so this is your warning that this one might hurt a little, but it's not my intention to leave you hurting reading this, and i'm sorry if it does
if you're interested in reading along, I'm gonna be tagging all posts related to it with #RW The Undead Of Winter, as well as #RW TUOW
also if you wanna post thoughts or anything like that, please, feel free to come into my asks, or post anything like that with those tags, I really appreciate anything, wether it's constructive criticism, just some gushing about stuff if you feel like it, some feelings it may have given you, or if you doodle anything
I wanna see all of that, preferably, ajsdl;fkaj
I'm gonna have fun doing this
thanks for bearing with me rambling
and i hope you have a good day

@xxlordalexanderxx c
"Thank you kindly for welcoming us so warmly." The Tsar mused with a small smile on his face. His own robes seemed to have moving stars on them with a golden collar. Rather opulent, but he'd enchanted the robes himself, and the Moon Mice had sewn it up.
Beside him the black haired male gave Cromwell a once over, quirking a brow. He looked like a rabbit-- or kangaroo. The big ears reminded him of the pooka responsible for the Easter holiday. Despite the similarity he winked with a flirty smirk.
"I certainly appreciate your foyer-- how luxurious. Your master must be doing well for himself." He strutted in confidently, ogling the golden splendor of the manor. A guy with this much glam had to be a pretty big deal.

10 Characters, 10 Fandoms
RULES: List your ten favourite characters from ten separate fandoms then tag ten people!
Tagged by @boatswainscall
Thanks, I love being a part of these! Also, I'm not nessicarily involved in these fandoms, but I'm in a character appreciating mood, so...
Roz the Robot (The Wild Robot) (I am not going to shut up about it once this movie comes out, I swear on my library) She's friend shaped. She works to make her home. I can't stop trying to draw her and realizing how much more practice I should have with drawing circles before I try.
2. Brea (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) choosing one from this show is hard! But she's the one who gets put in the most mental animatics, so she's here.
3. Yfling (A Choir of Lies) (No last name given) (I probably shouldn't have even stated his first name, but he uses it.) Sad wet cat of a man. The most white man to ever realize how badly he broke a failing system in the wrong direction. He's the narrator. He's unreliable. He still works as a storyteller while writing, a cultural taboo. The book is certainly worthy of praise and criticism. This guy also needs a hug. Badly. That doesn't make any part of his actions OK.
4. Alinua (Aurora) One of my favorite uses of "Life Magic" as a character element without it being her entire character. Also, hair floofy. (all of the aurora characters with hair have floofy hair. Go read Aurora the webcomic, if you so choose. It's fun)
5. Mrs. Frisby (Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIHM) Only ever read the first book, but I've read it at least 8 times. One of my favorite examples of an almost flat character arc in a protagonist. Different in the film. Still good, but a different that I've learned to live with.
6. Martin Blackwood (The Magnus Archives) the themeeeees.
7. Amelia (Infinity Train) Hooooooo boy. Talk about backstory not justifying current actions but. She's trying. She's working towards a different ending to the self destruction she promised herself. She accidentally adopted someone who's technically her daughter. She needs to work on her personal issues SO much more than she already has. It was between her and The Cat, for I T, by the way.
8. Sophie Hatter (Howl's Moving Castle) Yes, you are in a story ma'am, but I am so glad by book 2 you've also learned that there are Consequences to your Actions and that causes you to change absolutely none of them. Yeah they got you turned into an old lady, but only the once!
9. The Pooka (Hilda) "I would like to borrow an egg cup" has become a familial in-joke. Shape changer that can only look like himself?
10. Jack Frost (RotG) This man took up Residence in my brain in 2012 and Has Not Left Since, and I have given up on trying to make him, and that whole world in general, for that matter, go away! Fanfiction of my own it is! (of the "Put this man in more situations" variety. I want to see how I think fantasy rules for TMA and ROTG interact. Also, separately, Danny Phantom)
I'm sorry, I don't know 10 people to tag, but I do have 5.
@kiwipigment , @hardcore-solangelo-19, @smolbonbon, @geektrashfan , @i-want-cheese , Care to take a swing at it?

Listen I know there is such a thing as room for interpretation in media but how have some of you people strayed so far from the path of light when it comes to The Thing. What do you see in it. Like I’m sorry but it’s exactly what we said it would be. It’s wet and pathetic and so so kickable. Why were you booing me I was right

A little rest for the wicked
A/N: Looks like I'm getting my mojo back! Sorry it's so short. OC x canon character on my blog? More likely than you'd think! Reblogs are appreciated! No minors!
Fandom: Ghost (band)
Characters: Special Ghoul (Phil), Terzo, Grave
Warnings: Tickles as usual. Don't like, don't read.
Summary: Phil is overworking himself as usual. Since Grave is a little closer to him, Terzo sends her in his place to order him to take a break. Phil winds up needing persuasion.
Italian translations:
Fatina: Little Fairy
Diavolina: Little Devil
Brava Ragazza: Good girl
~ ~ ~
With her garden and headstone duties done, Grave began to head back inside, feeling rather thirsty. Summer was right around the corner. It was getting warmer and warmer every morning. As she wiped her brow, Primo approached her.
"There you are, fatina," he greeted, "your papa needs you for something."
Grave's ears twitched. "Is he alright?" She asked.
"Terzo's fine. He didn't say what it was. Just that he's looking for you."
She nodded. "Thank you, Papa Primo." And off she went.
Terzo was in his quarters, studying the ancient summoning rituals, trying to familiarize himself better with the Latin. He wasn't upset in the slightest that the newest member of the band- really The Ministry- was a pooka. He had found himself rather attached to Grave, actually.
He simply wanted to make sure that the next time he attempted a ghoul summoning that he had his pronunciation correct. Primo had assured him that summoning a ghoul was not a simple task and it would come more naturally with time. He still was fairly new as Papa after all. Nihil was not nearly as understanding but Primo had remedied the old bastard.
Terzo had left his door cracked for his new ghoulette. She poked her head inside the room, making the noise of a bat chitter.
"Papa? You needed to see me? All is well?"
He was slightly startled, being engrossed in his readings but as soon as he heard her voice and saw her, he smiled.
"Yes," Terzo replied, meeting her at the door and welcoming her in, "you're not in trouble or anything, so don't worry."
She was in her 'ghoulette' form this morning, he noted. Suppose it was to fit in better with the ghouls. After all, she still felt out of place.
"Papa Primo said you needed me?"
Terzo chuckled and ruffled her short, crimson hair, lightly scratching at her scalp, making her purr.
"Yes. I have a job for you, diavolina. I'm worried about Phil. Imperator and Nihil have not allowed him a break in a while. I'm sure you know, he handles our social media stuff. He's responsible for giving interviews on our behalf, writing articles, running our online accounts. He hasn't let his vessel rest for a long time."
Grave's brows furrowed. "What does that have to do with me? You did say those horrible people won't give him a break."
Terzo smirked. "I may have put in some demands this morning. We're tired of them too, Grave. Believe me. Imperator especially."
She nodded. She had seen how they treated the ghouls, and brothers. It was infuriating at the very least.
"As for you.... He won't listen to me. He's still very much in work mode. So, if he won't see reason with me, maybe you can get him to rest."
The pooka blushed. "Me? I- em, I... dunno about that."
Terzo snickered, rubbing her horns.
"Aww, come on. I've seen how look at him! It's cute!"
She groaned with embarrassment, wishing she had a mask like the others. Her cheeks were as red as her hair. ....Had she been so obvious about her crush?
"Papa.... ugh. Alright, alright... of course I'll help."
Terzo grinned. "Brava ragazza! I'll make your favorite chicken dish for lunch!"
Lunch... that was it! At once, Grave formed a plan to get Phil to rest. She smiled at Terzo excitedly.
"I know what to do! I'll tell you how it went, when I'm done!"
Terzo watched fondly as she hurried out, smiling softly. That was his girl. He was finding out she was a quick and efficient thinker. He knew she would think of something to help the poor, overworked ghoul.
Once in the ministry cafeteria, Grave began looking for ingredients. Anything she could make and bring him. In a few minutes time, she found what she needed for scotch eggs, bruschetta bread, and some left over chicken from the night before, she could repurpose.
She spread some tomato sauce over two thick slices of the bread, followed by some mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, garlic, rosemary, and a drizzle of olive oil. She put it in the oven to toast, while she worked on the chicken.
Secondo had cooked chicken piccata, about a week back with Grave watching intently. He normally was irritable with those that insisted on watching him cook but it had been for learning purposes, so he allowed her.
It wasn't too terribly complicated. She was only missing the capers but she'd salt it well. The final item was the scotch eggs. It took nearly an hour and a half but she could finally do what Terzo asked of her. She put the food on a tray, before remembering to get him a glass of wine.
Her heart thudded in her chest, nervously. What if he didn't like it? Nothing was burnt, so hopefully he'd be willing to eat. She had to knock on his door twice, due to knocking too softly the first time.
"Who is it and what do you need?" He tried to disguise how tired he was but the irritability and exhaustion just spilled out.
"It's Grave.... I brought you lunch."
There was silence on his end, mainly because he was processing that someone had thought of him enough to fix him something to eat. After a minute, he opened his door, his eyes widening at the mini feast before him.
"Papa's worried about you.... He's ordered you to take a break."
Phil chuckled softly, motioning her to follow him.
"So, that's why you did this?"
Grave handed the tray to the demon, whose nose was twitching as he licked his lips. Those eggs looked especially tasty. She fidgeted with her tail.
"Well, I mean, technically yes but honestly, em, I- I woulda made you something anyway...."
She blushed, rubbing the back of her neck bashfully. He admired how her cheeks turned pink and how her fangs showed off just a little as she smiled shyly. She was a pretty little creature.
"You didn't have to," Phil replied, after swallowing a bite of his chicken, "but I appreciate it more than you'll ever know."
They sat in content silence as Phil continued to eat and sip on his wine, occasionally the silence was broken by him wanting to get to know her better. He made mental notes about her, such as her love of seashells, her favorite color, the little things that made her unique.
Unbeknownst to the púca, Phil found himself attracted to her as well. But he was still reeling from the loss of his mate, Mist. She had rebelled against the clergy resulting in her death, two years before. He felt wrong for having eyes on another so soon afterwards.
Nonetheless, his tail swayed behind him contently, his stomach full in no time. He even finished off the wine, before flopping back over on his bed with a groan.
"Look, just tell Terzo that I simply cannOT- AH!"
A swift poke to the ribs, made him yelp and snicker.
"Hey! Don't you even think about it!"
His twitched behind him, as he grinned nervously at her. He knew her fondness for fuckery such as tickling, and he didn't wish to be on the receiving end! She had nearly murdered Copia from the sounds of it the day before, and even Terzo had not been spared his phooka's mischief!
"Yeah? What if I want to?" She smirked, causing the human referred sensation of 'butterflies' in his stomach.
She poked him on the belly this time, causing him to snicker again. "Don't! I'm full!"
"Then take a break and I won't be forced to take such drastic measures, Phil!"
He shook his head, deciding to make his bed and lay in it. She was going to tickle him regardless, anyway, so might as well make things difficult. She sighed dramatically, her hand reaching up to scratch and tickle his scalp, being gentle so as not to upset his stomach and make him sick. He did just eat after all.
Phil broke immediately, his nervous chuckles quickly evolving into giggles, as his shoulders shrugged up in a futile attempt to protect himself.
"N-No, wait a minute!" He spoke through his laughter, only endearing himself further to Grave.
She admired how wide his grin was, how his nose scrunched up when he giggled. How lucky she was to see this without his mask. Her fingers tickled down to the back of his neck, causing a startled, near shout to be ripped from him. He covered his face with his hands not wanting her to see his blush. He attempted to roll into a ball, but Grave's fingers found his spine, making him cackle in shock.
"Gonna take a break?" The phooka asked with a giggle of her own. Her fingers scratched incessantly at his spine, bringing his laughter up by a few notes.
His tail thrashed- almost wagging- as his laughter grew in volume. His legs began to kick as well, causing Grave to switch spots, squeezing his sides. His cackles died down to frantic giggles once more.
"Grave, please! This is torture!" He didn't know if he truly meant that
After all, he hadn't had a good round of belly laughter since Mist had met her untimely, unfair end. Perhaps he needed this. These were the thoughts Grave had heard. Had there been any negative thoughts, she most certainly would have stopped. A new thought caused her to chuckle, continuing to gently pinch his sides like a lobster.
"Oh, so after I finish makin' you nearly piss yourself, you'll take that break, eh?" She grinned.
Phil groaned through his laughter, embarrassed that she had been reading his mind. ...Dear dark lord, he hoped she hadn't pried too much! He'd die on the spot, were she to know he was interested in her, this soon after her summoning!
'Shut up! He attempted to demand, but her fingers scurrying up his ribs made him snort.
"Awwww!! Do that again!" Grave nearly squealed.
Her fingers travelled higher, coaxing out more snorts. She gently pried his hands away from his face, admiring how his eyes seemed to glow.
"Much better! Now, I can see that adorable smile!"
The Phooka resumed her work, causing Phil to writhe beneath he fingers, howling with laughter. Mountain was passing by, wondering what had gotten him to laugh like that. Oh well, another story for another day. It was a nice change, though. He hardly smiled these days.
Phil nearly hit the ceiling when she began gently nibbling at his neck, while tickling one of his horns. He wrapped his arms around his midsection, trying to cope the best he could with the maddening sensations. At least she was gentle and his stomach wasn't queasy. He could give her that much.
When her fingers crawled up his shirt to get the sensitive skin of his stomach, he nearly squealed, his tail nearly a blur as he now fought to poke her back. if there was one spot that drove him mad, it was most certainly his stomach much to his embarrassment. He now held on to Grave's shoulders, her claws on his skin getting worse with every skitter and scratch.
"Please! I- I-" His words were interspersed with more cackles.
Grave decided to stop. He was tiring and she didn't want to push him too far. She smiled fondly at him, stroking one of his horns, making him purr as he calmed down.
"Gonna take your break?"
Phil nodded breathlessly, still grinning himself. "Yes! Yes, I won't work for the rest of the day!"
She giggled and purred as well, bonking her head against his, in a display of ghoul affection.
"Heh. Terzo teach you that one? Everyone knows your pretty much his baby."
Grave now blushed, her tail swaying to and fro, Phil barked a laugh at this.
"Aw, don't be embarrassed. It's sweet, honestly. Terzo's always spoke of his desire to be a father. He just... isn't allowed really. He has to keep up the illusion that he's eligible for fans, so to speak. So, The Ministry forbids relationships."
She nodded, still flustered that he had pointed it out. Phil scratched her scalp, pleased with the shiver and giggle he got out of her, making him smirk.
"You're ticklish too, Grave. Don't think word doesn't travel quickly between we ghouls. I'll get you back eventually, I-"
He paused, a yawn escaping him. "Fuck, I... I need a nap," he admitted. "It's been too long since I've had a good sleep."
Grave got to her feet, smiling softly at him. "I'll leave you to it."
"Thank you... Uh, tell Terzo thank you for me as well. I'm glad, honestly. If he hadn't said whatever he did to Imperator and Nihil, I wouldn't be getting this break today."
"Of course. Have a good sleep!"
Before she left, he took a chance before he could stop himself.
"Hey, uh, would you like to uh, go on a nature walk sometime?"
Her ears perked up. "Oh... I- I'd love to."
Phil smiled. "Sounds like a plan. I'll ask Terzo to pull some more strings next week."
"Ok! I look forward to it! Sleep well!"
Grave took her leave, going back to Terzo to report her success. Just as he predicted. He knew his fae would get the job done, somehow. As he promised, he made her favorite chicken for lunch and even gave her an offering of strawberries for a job well done.
When she informed him of Phil's wish to go on the nature walk, Terzo chuckled and ruffled her hair.
"I believe I can arrange that. Well done today, Fatina." He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her to his side.
Imperator had tried to make him send her back but he had refused. She had her place here. She may have been a fae among demons, but she was still accepted by the others, all the same.
He hoped she and Phil got together. They'd make a cute couple, he thought. Maybe she'd be the one to help Phil heal.

(Oh no, that's not the Easter Bunny...)
More C:tD Chimera? Yup, it's time again!
Initially created to be nothing but a blade-wielding music box with a pulse, Maestra had lived a hellish life wrapped in a neat frilly bow.
Forged by archduke Omelas of House Leanhaun, she had to sing, dance, joust and play the mandolin for her "father's" court like the devil was after her (he was, in a sense, after her). One particular Pooka childling of House Balor who would regulary attend meetings at the freehold was way to enthusiastic with his bullying, going so far as to make her tie his 30m long hair into thousands of tiny braids and decorate them, only to cut off all his hair and regrow it in seconds just so Maestra could do it again.
However, all that changed once Omelas' freehold was sieged by baroness Evelyn of House Eiluned and her companions for she could no longer take the sight of all those enslaved Chimera. She would execute Omelas in secret (even though she really would've liked to set an example) and have her army tend to the wounded Kithain and Chimera.
Maestra, though, didn't appreciate the rescue. Her father had meant the world to her and now that he was gone she had nothing to fight for. Using various rabbit burrows to travel throughout the Near Dreaming and Autumn world, Maestra has taken to ambushing unsuspecting creatures for their Glamour-filled blood, using it to feed both herself and her sword "Pindrop", one of Omelas' non-sentient Chimera (which technically makes it her brother).
Evelyn hasn't given up yet. She wants to give Maestra the chance to finally act independently from her Pact, it's just that catching up - never mind getting through to a creature that hate-filled and traumatized is not an easy task.
