Loki thinking he deserves a treat all the time, just for existing. LMAO
A dumb drawing of my dog nephew, Loki, as both his human/Asgardian and dog self.
He DEMANDS his carrots.😡 You would do well to provide them, mortal.

Coming this weekend...
Tumblr media
Tama! She's a very young pomsky (Pomeranian/Husky) puppy and the last of her litter waiting to find her forever home. I applied and got accepted! I meet her foster mom this weekend to take her home after passing a background check, house check, vet check, and reference check. Her foster mom was a stickler about the quality of the home she went to, Tama secretly being her favorite of the entire litter.
I was really surprised to find Tama was the last of her litter to be adopted out. So was her foster mom, who explained to me that Tama is a very rare and very special mix of genetics. Her coat is lavender, which is common in some cat breeds, but only present in Pomeranians and Pom mixes when you're talking about dogs, and her eyes are deep green, which is essentially a product of pure luck and chance, since green is also the rarest eye color for dogs. "Tama" seemed like a fitting name for her, being Japanese for "jewel". She may be a puppy, but there's something very special about her to me.
I'm so thrilled to be able to take her home with me. I grew up with Pomeranians, and love Huskies, but couldn't adopt a regular one due to their high energy lifestyles and size; Tama is the perfect meeting in the middle of being small enough for me to keep up with, while also being big enough that I won't have to worry about her outside with the large eagles and owls we have out here that prey on small breeds. She's sweet, intelligent, quiet, and inquisitive, and is the first pet I've felt a special bond with since I lost my furbaby, Sean, a couple of years ago before he could turn 11. I'm hoping to bring her up with the manners and socialization to qualify her as an ESA if her temperament fits the role. It's been very hard for me to leave the house without a little companion with me, and I'm hoping Tama and I will soon be going on adventures and making new friends together :)

This is going to be controversial, but if you're going to recommend people get a certain dog breed, you need to have experience with that breed.
And not just reading the breed description on the AKC website. You need to have handled, trained, or owned that breed. You need to know what makes that breed tick, how they act in various situations, and if they're good pets. I know a lot of people mean well when they suggest breeds that "replace" doodles. However, if you're telling people to get a Wheaten Terrier, an Australian Cobberdog, a Bedlington Terrier, a Pudelpointer, or a Lagotto Ramagnolo as the pet for the average suburban family, you're setting dogs up for failure.
Then, when that dog becomes a bite risk or is completely unsuitable for life as a pet dog (because it's a working breed or a breed with no working/show line split), it becomes my problem. Sometimes, the process ends with the supposed "ethical alternative" being euthanized because it was purchased by a home completely unprepared for it.
I don't know what the solution here is, but I really dislike this growing trend of telling average people to get working breeds.

Seeing a happy positive tiktok about letting your dog off leash because "every dog deserves to feel this feeling" after I took my partner's dog for a walk and an off leash dog twice his size charged at him while the owners laughed and I put my body between them, I'm soooooo done, where's that post about how we need to shame dog owners that act like they can do whatever they want with their dogs? They had an off leash pit bull and were laughing as if that wouldn't be so bad for them and the dog they love if things had gotten dicey!!!! If you're not gonna give a damn about other people and animals at least care about the fact that if things had gone south it would not have been my on leash pomsky under fire, you would have lost that dog!!!! By God leash your dogs and keep your cats indoors unless you leash them too, basic common fucking sense stop acting like you're getting your pets back in touch with ✨️ their natural side ✨️ by letting them harass other people and local wildlife and endanger themselves

THE BIG DOGS
The
The strike trio!!!!
RAMBLES BELOW!!!!!
Tumblr media
Gordon.
Gord.
Whiny, pompous, and proud, what more fitting breed than a husky? All he does is lounge around all day, he refuse to share toys, and would hoard the food if he feels like it, sometimes Edward have to come over and teach him a lesson.
All of the gresley family are huskies!!!
Tumblr media
Heni! Henry?
I love the scared big dog trope, he's the biggest dog in the house but anything and I mean ANYTHING scares him, had to wear a dog cone to prevent him scratching his scar that he got from an accident, he have the unfortunate habit of laying on places he shouldn't be, even on some other dogs....
Tumblr media
The man (dog?) of the hour! James!
I was going to make him a german shepherd or pomsky, but After knowing that rough collie often is in criteria of fashionable dogs I knew It fits him best, his fur are a bit trimmed and is not as fluffy as other rough collies, he has won multiple competitions and is very talented, even if sometimes he can't help but show off whenever there's visitors....

Just wanted to tell you: my friend also has a dog named Gypsy, idk what breed she is but she coincidentally looks like a bigger version of your Gypsy, just with less crazy eyes and an emptier head. She loves tummy rubs.
All Gypsies are good Gypsies! Mine's a Pomsky; mom was a pom, dad was a husky.

Pomsky Guide: Everything You Need to Know About This Adorable Breed
Tumblr media
The Pomsky is a hybrid breed, a cross between a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky, cherished for its stunning looks and affectionate nature. This guide explores every aspect of the Pomsky, from appearance and personality to care and costs.
Tumblr media
Appearance and Size
Pomskies inherit features from both parent breeds, creating a strikingly beautiful dog. Their size can vary depending on the dominance of either parent's genes.
Height: Typically 8-15 inches tall at the shoulder.
Weight: Between 5-30 pounds
Tumblr media
Pomsky Sizes:
Toy Pomsky: Under 10 inches tall and weighs 5-9 pounds.
Mini Pomsky: Around 10-15 inches tall, weighing 10-20 pounds.
Standard Pomsky: 15 inches or taller, weighing 20-30 pounds or more.
Tumblr media
Coat and Color Variations
Their double coat is soft and fluffy, and the coat can be black, white, gray, brown, red, or a mix of these colors. The eyes can be strikingly blue, brown, green, or even bi-colored.
Tumblr media
Temperament and Personality
Pomskies are lively, intelligent, and affectionate dogs that form strong bonds with their families. They are known for their playful and sometimes mischievous nature.
Socialization: Early socialization is vital to help them become confident and well-behaved.
Good Family Dog: Yes, they thrive on attention and love being part of family activities.
Good with Children: Generally good, but supervision is recommended with younger children due to their small size.
Good with Strangers: They can be reserved or wary, making socialization important.
Good with Other Pets: Typically good with cats and other dogs if introduced properly.
Guard Dog: Not ideal, as they lack the size and temperament of a traditional guard dog, though they may alert bark.
Tumblr media
Living Conditions
Apartment-Friendly: Yes, as long as they receive sufficient exercise.
Exercise Needs: Moderate. Daily walks and playtime are sufficient to keep them happy and healthy.
Tumblr media
Grooming and Shedding
Pomskies are moderate to heavy shedders due to their double coat. Regular grooming is essential to keep their coat in top condition. (Do not ever shave a pomsky's hair)
Brushing: Brush 2-3 times a week to manage shedding and prevent matting.
Bathing: Once a month or as needed.
Nail Care: Trim nails every 3-4 weeks.
Dental Care: Regular brushing to maintain oral health.
Tumblr media
Health and Lifespan
Pomskies are generally healthy but can inherit health issues from their parent breeds.
Lifespan: 12-15 years.
Common Health Issues:
Hip dysplasia
Eye conditions (e.g., cataracts)
Dental issues
Allergies
Collapsing trachea
Regular vet checkups and a healthy diet are crucial for preventing and managing these conditions.
Tumblr media
Feeding and Nutrition
Diet: High-quality dog food tailored to their size, age, and activity level.
Feeding Schedule: 2-3 meals per day.
Avoid Overfeeding: Pomskies are prone to obesity if overfed or under-exercised.
Tumblr media
Barking
Pomskies are known to be vocal, often inheriting the talkative nature of their Husky parent. Training can help manage excessive barking.
Training
Pomskies are intelligent and eager to learn but may also inherit a stubborn streak.
Methods: Positive reinforcement works best. Food oriented.
Socialization: Start early with exposure to various people, pets, and environments.
Commands: Focus on basic obedience and behavioral training to curb undesirable habits like barking or chewing.
Tumblr media
Breeding and Puppies
Litter Size: Typically 4-6 puppies per litter.
Breeding Considerations: Responsible breeding practices are essential to ensure healthy puppies. Consult with a vet for advice on genetic testing and care for the mother.
Tumblr media
Costs
Initial Purchase Price: $1,000-$5,000, depending on the breeder and lineage.
Monthly Costs: $100-$200 for food, grooming, and healthcare.
Additional Expenses: Training, toys, and emergency vet bills.
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts
Pomskies are delightful companions, combining the charm of the Pomeranian and the energy of the Husky. With proper care, training, and love, they make excellent family pets. However, prospective owners should consider their grooming needs, energy levels, and costs before bringing one home.
If you’re ready to welcome a Pomsky into your life, you’ll find a loyal and affectionate friend in this unique hybrid breed.
