it's a weird emotion when somebody goes "doesn't this just shake you to your core and rewrite your dna and change who you are as a person" and your honest experience of it was that it was ok

Sure, you know how to self-flagellate, but do you know how to apologize? Saying "I'm a stupid idiot" is not the same thing as saying "I did something wrong."
#also it centers you in what's supposed to be an apology to them#and has a sense of removing responsibility for your actions under the guise of being helpless to be better

Now that I'm older and a little more experienced in fiber crafts and textile work, I don't think we give Rarity enough credit. She made custom tailored boutique-grade formal wear for five of her friends, showed she knew their interests and personalities well enough to work them into the outfits, and gave it to them for free, and all of them had the gall to say "well it could be better". And she didn't even think about burning their houses down.

"oh you have an allergy? sorry I harassed you for being a picky eater, I didn't realize you had a valid reason. it's good to know you're not actually a picky eater, I still get to harass those people"
"oh you have chronic pain? sorry I harassed you for being lazy, I didn't realize you had a valid reason. it's good to know you're not actually a lazy person, I still get to harass those people"
"oh you're autistic? sorry I harassed you for being weird, I didn't realize you had a valid reason. it's good to know you're not actually a weird person, I still get to harass those people"
"oh you're deaf? sorry I harassed you for ignoring me, I didn't realize you had a valid reason. you're just not actually a rude person, I still get to harass those people"
"man why does everything have to be a disorder now? I miss the old days when people would TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for being failures and it was socially exceptable for me to harass them, now I look like a jerk when I bully people for annoying me."

In Okami, it's never actually shown how much power the Brush Gods have beyond their specific technique(s). However, in alot of pantheons, most gods are able to choose the form in which they take, as their physical being is not set in stone (Not to mention, Human/Animal shapeshifters ARE a thing that exist shown through the Oina and Ninetails.) Additionally, the gods CAN talk, as seen in /literally every cutscene with them./
This proposes two ideas: 1. Amaterasu has been weakened to the point of being unable to speak with words, forced to communicate to all through barks and body language. Unable to assume any other form until fully powered and returned to the sacred realm. Or the much funnier option, number 2... Ammy could start talking or take a humanoid form literally fucking whenever she wants, but simply chooses to be Ouppy because She Fucking Can.
