How about the poly reacting to M not understanding Valentine’s Day gifts and instead of a cardboard heart shaped box filled with chocolate, it’s a boar’s heart stuffed with chocolate given to S and B and MC?

B, along with their trio of distinct companions, has witnessed a lot: S's moments of absurdity followed by heinous crimes, and the MC's competent yet unyielding manner. However, this? M was in front of them, holding out a cardboard box that reeked of blood and something foul—this was completely new. S tentatively takes hold of the bleeding, heart-shaped box that is presented to them, while B just stares blankly at it.

"What is that, M?" B asks, their patience like that of a monk. With a palm over their mouth, they watch as the MC opens the box in S's hands. However, when it is revealed, chaos erupts. B screams, S shouts in surprise, and the MC physically recoils. Within is... a chocolate-filled heart. Oh, it was a disgusting thing to look at. Yet M looked at them with pride mixed with expectation. “Gift. Val—…entine day.”

“Oh—…that’s not—“

“—It’s lovely, M. Thank you.” B interrupts the assassin beside them with a targeted elbow jab, and they reach out and place a loving touch on Ms' shoulder. M grumbles in satisfaction at the compliments, and the baker watches as their two partners try to work out what exactly they should do with this heart packed with blood and chocolate. Well, at least this is a valentines to remember, B mused as they watched the Mc experimentally poke the muscle a few times.

At the end of the day…they keep the box rather than the heart.

If MC wasn't available, or passed away, or simply wasn't interested in anything romantic. Which would he the most likely romantic relationship that would develop amongst the band members? Would there be any?

I'm asking because I like both Angel and (male) Zima so far. But I would prefer to know if they could ever hit it off on their own before asking for a poly that involved them.

Most likely not.

There is technically always a chance for any given people to hit it off, but... not with these four. Not without MC. I just can't imagine it, not even with Angel and Zima. They might be superficially attracted to one another (Angel thinks Zima is hot, because everyone thinks Zima is hot; and Zima will fuck just about anyone if they're in the right mood and the other person is sweet and respectful) but I don't think they'd develop a deeper connection without encouragement.

Starting out, neither of them really want a partner, so falling for the MC would kind of open that door. Angel just wants to vibe and play the guitar; he connects romantically with the MC via their music and that'll be pleasant to him, but entirely unexpected. Meanwhile Zima won't be in the market for anything romantic for a long time; they're emotionally stunted and hurt (not just by MC). They'd be (unpleasantly) shocked by falling for MC (possibly again), so that would be the event to ignite their wish for a romantic relationship.

To summarize, while I think they would really hit it off in a triad and could totally be into each other, it all hinges on their individual bond with MC.

What would you say are the main "themes" or "tropes" for every route? (poly routes too, if possible)

Arthur: arranged marriage (duh), extreme devotion (on both sides), destined love

Evaine: pining (mutual or one sided at first - by Evaine), healing from past relationships (Evaine), dealing with rumors (about Evaine, about MC, about both)

Yniol: slow burn, mutual protectiveness,

Morien: annoyances (affectionate) to lovers, strangers to lovers, recovery

Gwyar: forced proximity, confidant to lover, partners in crime

POLYS

Arthur/Gwyar: power dynamics (you know who has the most power - gwyar), power throuple

Arthur/Evaine: fluff and comfort, found family, gossip (both done by the poly, and done to the poly)

Yniol/Morien: healing from trauma, slow burn, taking care of each other, pining

Morien/Gwyar: 2 menaces and 1 cinnamon roll (roles are not fixed), heated arguments (with happy endings)

You know the Hayden-Nix poly, reminds me the Rin-MC-Ash V poly dinamic in the if "Vendetta" (it's amazing if you haven't read it I higly recommend it!), both Ash and Rin are more then willing to get down and dirty with MC both at the same time (and they do it in the spicy side stories 🤭), IF, and only IF, they touch and are touched only by MC 🤭. In an ask, someone asked how would they react if during the night MC got up from the bed, and instead of hugging MC (they sleep all 3 together with MC in the middle) they hugged eachother for mistake, the Author answered that, they would notice, wake up, stop immediately, give the eachother the stink eye and scoot back on their side of the bed, waiting for MC to come back 🤣🤣🤣

I can see the resemblance 😆🤣 Hayden and Nix definitely won't get along when they meet, although they may set aside their differences for the MC and others, they really don't have any intentions of getting any closer than necessary.

P.S: One of them might "accidentally" kick the other if they were in that situation.

If K and P were coordinating costumes what would they end up as ?

Ooo, for starters I think P would make a joke and say they should dress as vampires and K would arch a brown before rolling their eyes.

But, realistically—the Joker and Harley Quinn angle. Angel and a devil (K would be the devil), and then anything with a lot of makeup like skull costumes. I got Pinterest photos for reference, just know they’d look hot.

I’m currently binging house and I’m already on season 4. I’m just saying I think a poly relationship could’ve saved Amber, Wilson, and House.

I mean not saved in the traditional sense that it would’ve actually worked out because we all know it def would’ve ended in flames. House doesn’t share well (he’s too jealous and possessive of Wilson to handle a poly relationship), Amber is the exact same way, and Wilson is too passive not to crack under the duel attention. I was thinking about poly routes before writing the game, but I was afraid to bite off more than I could chew and I wanted to keep the story manageable since it’s my first IF, so I decided against adding them, and I’ll keep it that way for the main game.

As for who could be open to it, I think Os, Laz, and Az, but serious feelings would need to be involved. Vez and Ash are both the type to fall in love with one person. I can imagine Laz and Az getting into poly together after they grow closer, and something happening between Os and Az, too. Especially if their third partner makes them spend more time together (‘forced proximity because they’re crushing into the same person’ kind of thing).

I'm new here and glad to be. My whole first play through I was nervously glancing between Tinsae and Camilla, dreading when I would have to choose between them. But then the Samhain scene came and went. The nut game. I tried looking but if the answer is there tumblr search failed to show it to me. Was that a hint. Is it true. Is it real. Will there be a poly route with these two? Please. (But also I totally respect it if not and I thank you for your wonderful work regardless! You've made a really fun game.)

Hi!! Any poly route for the new IF? 👀

I actually haven't decided. The poly route for TPK was easy to figure - Felix and Rowan are obviously entangled in a way that could quite easily turn romantic. With them it was easy to see how the Phoenix would fit into their dynamic. There's not any routes with that pre-established chemistry in MMttCR.

I'm toying with ideas for a few potential triads but none of them are really sticking out for me yet. Writing V's just doesn't work, every time I try it mutates to a triangle anyways.

The poly-routes I'm considering are:

Rossella x Robin

Lux x Robin

Caerwyn x Rune (aka "For the monster fuckers" route)

Rossella x Caerwyn

Lux x Rune

Marcus, Lux, and Rossella have all sibling-zoned each other (or are siblings) so there's no combination there that could work.

I'd love to hear which poly-routes folks are interested in and why, btw! Including ones not listed above.

not sure if this has been said somewhere, but im curious! what kind of romance routes are you planning on having in the vn? one poly route, 2 seperate routes, or seperate routes and a poly route? super excited by the way the art is fantastic<3<3<3 hope youre having a good day!

its all platonic for now! im more focused on the candy au lore and getting to know the characters (im a sucker for slow burns) but there will be some scenes that could be interpreted as romantic/flirty ^^

the end goal of the game isnt necessarily to date the candy boys, but instead to get to know them and help them

I don’t know if this has been answered already, but I was just curious since I seen on the faq that this will be a trilogy and I know you are planning on two possible poly routes, are you planning on working those in after this book is completed or if you plan on writing them into the other books instead?

the poly routes will start in book two with a tease in book one. initially i was going to write them in after everything’s done but it’s actually easier for me to implement them as i write, so that’s what i’m doing <3

S exclaimed with a wicked laugh, glancing between their partner's face and one of the many letters stacked upon the table, each filled with various treats. The assassin leaned forward, raising his eyebrows teasingly at B, who blushed furiously. "Well, that's quite something, darling. I've never heard that one before."

"Oh, stop it. They're just being dramatic," B responded, leaning against Ms' chest and nonchalantly sipping champagne supplied by one of their former loves. S rolled their eyes before picking up another letter, muttering as they sorted through the pile. "So many letters, and the majority of them are in cursive! Who knew you were fond of upper-class people, eh?" Without even looking, the assassin could tell that B was wearing a fake pout.

Amidst the letters, S's eyes lit up upon finding one with particularly enticing words. "I crave your taste!" they exclaimed joyfully, sending all three of their partners a look of pure joy and disbelief. Only two mirrored their expression. The assassin took great delight in B's horror as they shrieked in protest. "Who sent that?! Burn it!"

"No—hold on! They sent the premium chocolate!" The MC interjected, scrambling to grab the letter.

"I'm definitely framing this," S declared.

"I... will make the frame," M added with a gentle grunt, quietly chuckling when B gave them a look of betrayal.

dw you're fine! I'm stilly working the poly routes out. I feel like Stevie and Zima and Angel and Lincoln definitely wouldn't mind each other. So those are easily gonna be a possibility. But I'm still trying to work out the triads because I want there to be triads without turning the band into a big cuddle pile (by cuddle pile, I mean the big poly route)

But in regards to that, nothing's set in stone yet. I wanna give the MC as many options as possible, so I wanna make more triads available, I'm just thinking it all through

Poly V , the interest in poly will be mc. and Hayden and Nix are definitely not interested in each other, believe me. Even if there's no romance with the mc in the middle, they still might not hit it off at first sight....

Considering the Hound vs Camelot ask

How do the poly’s feel about the others choice?

Would they fight on it?👀

Arthur/Evaine: it would be an agonising confrontation, I could see this go either way depending on a lot of factors. In a possible scenario, Evaine would convince Arthur to choose MC as Arthur already is tearing himself apart over it. Evaine's pleas would convince him to go for MC.

In another, both Arthur and Evaine would be torn apart by grief and pain, but would let MC go if MC was the one to push both to choose Camelot.

As for their reaction to each other's choice: Evaine wouldn't be angry with Arthur for choosing Camelot over MC, but would be angry at whoever forced him to choose. Because Evaine know Arthur can't live with that choice. And of course Arthur would never hold against Evaine choosing MC over Camelot.

Arthur/Gwyar: Gwyar would very clearly want to choose MC, and upon Arthur's painful admission that they can't, that Camelot would be destroyed, Gwyar would be filled with desperation, morphing into anger. Why does it have to be them? It isn't fair!

Only if MC expressed their desperation for them to choose Camelot they would do so. And that decision would not only destroy them both, but their relationship as well. Because Gwyar couldn't bear to stay in Camelot or even look at Arthur. To be reminded of how they both sacrificed MC. Gwyar would leave, and Arthur would break.

As for their reaction if only one had made the choice: I think Arthur wouldn't hold anything against Gwyar either way. He would only be devastated to have lost Camelot. And Gwyar would, again, leave but not be angry at Arthur (instead, reassuring him that it wasn't his fault. That Gwyar just needs to be away for a bit).

Yniol/Morien: in a poly, Yniol would fold to Morien's reasoning and they would collectively end up choosing MC.

About their reactions if they learned of the choice made by the other: Yniol is not someone who lives with regrets. They accept the past and do their best to live with the consequences, so they would not feel resentment towards Morien even for a second. Morien, on the other hand, would completely lose it upon learning MC is gone for Camelot. They would not be angry at Yniol (even though is may sometimes seem that way), but they would fall in a self destructive spiral because it's not right. MC had already given too much.

Gwyar/Morien: they would choose MC most of the time, even if Gwyar would be devastated to lose Camelot. The only instance in which they would fight is if MC specifically asked them to save Camelot instead. Because in that case Gwyar would want to respect MC's wishes (Gwyar think this is after all, their choice more than anyone else to make) while Morien would call MC a self sacrificing selfish bastard and would want to save the Hound regardless. In either case, if they decided to save MC or not, Gwyar and Morien's relationship would never recover.

As for their reaction to each other's decision: both would have sacrificed Camelot, so they would not have so much to argue. But Morien would be very insistent in telling Gwyar that MC was more than worth the sacrifice while Gwyar would resent Morien a bit for their lack of care for Camelot as a whole.
