I actually have some questions:

Do you watch any shows (anime, cartoons, or live action)? If so, what do you like?

Do you play any gacha game other than Mega Man X DiVE and Fire Emblem Heroes (such as Fate/Grand Order, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Cookie Run Kingdom, Nikke Goddess of Victory)? If so, what do you think of them? (FGO and CRK are based on pre-existing game IPs too)

I looked at some of your old art of the Four Guardians (Mega Man Zero) from 2021 and thought that it would be funny to have those characters, who you drew as/to look like children, having adult voices, only Harpuia sound like a young boy 😂(if you wanna know their voices you can watch the MMZ audio drama the chosen four). Also applies your design of MMZ Zero, looks short and petite but has notably masculine voice

Hi there! I don't watch anime/shows that often and there a good handful I've checked out, but one anime I often drew inspiration from is Rozen Maiden. Other than that, I usually pick series that have kickback-n-let-loose humor that I don't need to invest too much time for like Osomatsu, Pop Team Epic, or Asobi Asobase.

People wouldn't really find me talking much about it, however.

Those are the only two gachas I play. I play other mobile games, namely Pokemon GO and Pikmin Bloom because I love their AR casual-traveling aspects. I used to play Grimoire of Souls (totally legally) but I no longer have access to it despite its official release.

I prefer not to overload my phone without too much games especially since I already play two Niantic games. They're battery eaters.

Your last number wasn't really a question so I don't think I have much to say there, but please feel free to imagine whatever you like when you check out my works. ^^

Got the wrap up almost sort of out on time this year!

Anime: Frieren (cour 1), Re:Zero (season 1) Futari wa Precure Splash Star, Yes! Precure 5, Yes! Precure 5 GoGo, Smile Precure!, Mahou Tsukai Precure!, Hirogaru Sky! Precure, Otona Precure, Zettai Bouei Leviathan, Petite Princess Yucie, Tokyo Mew Mew New s2, Magical Destroyers

Did I legit not watch any other non-magical girl anime than Frieren and Re:Zero? I'll have to try harder this year. Overall 2023 was a very Precure year and I'm done with almost all of the seasons, only 3 left. But Frieren has been amazing, it looks so beautiful (and is certainly an improvement from the manga on this front), the music is great and of course I already liked the story. Re:Zero was compelling enough that I might watch the second season even if the isekai aspect really isn't for me. Emilia best girl.

As for Precure, usually I manage to watch one backlog season in addition to the airing one, but this time I surprised myself and did five. Which may not have been smart since it was kind of a chore at some points, but I wanted to prepare for the Otona sequel (which turned out to be a disappointment). The 2023 season Hirogaru was one of the better ones thanks to the excellent heroine.

Manga: Are You Alice, Saint Tail, Stellar Witch LIPS, Zelda manga (Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Ocarina of Time, Four Swords)

On the manga front there wasn't much of note, the ongoing series from previous years (OP, MHA, Undead Unluck, Spy x Family, Frieren, Witch Hat Atelier…) continue and I don't have a lot to say about them, except that my interest in One Piece is still very low even if we finally got out of Wano.

I did manage to finish Are You Alice after it being on hold for years, so that's something at least. It has absolutely lovely art and I like the concept, but it did get kind of complicated at times. And I wish we had seen more Alices.

Movies: Super Mario movie, Puss in Boots 2, The Bad Guys, Strange World, the Boy and the Heron, Barbie, various Precure movies

Barbie enters the scene as one of the few live action anything and it was great. The message didn't really speak to me personally but it has an amazing aesthetic, fun story and something to say. And like everyone else has already said, I agree that Puss in Boots 2 was great on all fronts and The Bad Guys was a lot of fun too.

Comics & novels: W.i.t.c.h. reboot, Null Magical Girl, Smile Precure! novel, Magia Record scene 0

The W.i.t.c.h. reboot came out of nowhere and landed with a thud, I was willing to give it a chance but the story just wasn't that interesting. Not sure how I would rate it if it didn't have the comparison against a childhood favourite.

Games: Zelda 1, Zelda Oracle of Ages & Seasons, Ocarina of Time, Tears of the Kingdom, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Arceus (or half of it), Usagi Shima

From the anime side 2023 was a very Precure year, but on the game side it was an extremely Zelda year. Or it started as a Pokemon year with Brilliant Diamond, which was not enjoyable, and continued with Arceus, which has been the best Pokemon game I've played. Haven't cleared it yet though since I got this sudden need to play Zelda, and I didn't want to rush it. But I'm looking forward to finishing it.

On the Zelda front Tears of the Kingdom was just as great as I hoped, and it effectively monopolised my summer. But as much as I like botw Link, I'm ready for a new Hyrule. As for the older loz games, the OG game was too retro for me, but I really liked Oracle of Ages. Seasons had fun gameplay but the story was very nothing.

Then there was Usagi Shima which was cute for about 2 weeks but once I completed the bun book there wasn't really anything left to do. But it was fun for what it is.

Best work: Tears of the Kingdom

Best music: Frieren (A Powerful Mage)

Best visuals: Barbie looked amazing, especially for a live-action movie. Frieren on the anime side. As for manga, Are You Alice

Best character design: Cure Sky

Best OP: Hirogaru Sky Precure for the song, Frieren for visuals

Best ED: Frieren also

Biggest WTF: the sequel to a goddamn Shrek spin-off being so much better than it had any business being. Also the entirety of Null Magical Girl.

Best Girl: Frieren

Best Boy: Botw Link again I guess, I spend a lot of time thinking about him

Best Side Girl: I dunno, Ha-chan (Mahou Tsukai Precure)? She is just so cute.

Best Side Boy: Rauru (the goat one not the owl guy), he got a compelling story that lets us see him displaying many different emotions and he has such a pleasant voice. I'm not a furry but…

Worst Girl: Nozomi (Yes! Precure 5 & GoGo, she was ok in Otona though)

Worst Boy: I don't think there's enough works with a notable male main character this year and I don't remember hating any of them. I guess I didn't particularly like Subaru (re:Zero) but he wasn't like, the worst.

Worst Side Girl: Ellee-chan (Hirogaru Sky! Precure), baby characters just really don't work for me

Worst Side Boy: I don't really like the friendly rivals in Pokemon, so Barry.

Best romance: I continue to ship Link and Zelda (botw/totk)

Best non-romantic relationship: The fact that botw Link isn't alone any more and has friends who are happy to see him and fight with him

Worst romance: Main girl x main guy from Stellar Witch Lips, they barely had any scenes together

Worst non-romantic relationship: the group dynamics in the W.i.t.c.h. reboot didn't work nearly as well as in the original.

Most people recognize the jerking and convulsions of a tonic-clonic (formerly known as grand-mal) seizure, but most have no idea what absence (formerly known as petite-mal) seizures look like! They're very subtle. The child (it is a disorder of childhood—my last one was when I was around 14, after many years of no seizures... caused by the banned Powerpuff Girls Gnomey episode, the series' other shorter flashing effects never harmed me, but I appreciate streaming services warning about the effects, as they might cause seizures in other people) seems to space out, staring, and is often unresponsive. Teachers often are the first to notice it in class.

From my personal experience, I remember when I had them frequently as a child (in the "good" old days of CRT TVs and monitors, pre-Pokemon incident, when many cartoons had fast-rate flickering/strobe effects due to ignorance...), I would just be sitting, watching the screen, when suddenly, everything would become brighter and fuzzier. The screen would be too bright to see and human voices like my parents' become indistinct, like I'm hearing it underwater... I briefly forget everything and don't recognize anyone or anything. I often would get floppy and slump in my seat, but because I'm seat against the back of the chair, I think my parents generally did not notice... I sometimes stared at my hands. I wouldn't panic because I have this vague memory of these happening before, even if I forget everything else (it's funny, it's also like I only remembered these happening before when it happens again...), and then, I recover.

Maybe my parents did notice, since I stopped having them a lot while using the computer after a black, transparent piece of plastic was placed over the monitor to dim the brightness (in the older days when monitors didn't come with easy-access brightness options) to protect my eyes...

Yea the link has expired but I would definitely be interested in joining the discord! Terminology in the USA is indeed confusing TOT I was actually born in the USA, more specifically California, but I moved to NZ when I was three years old and I've been here ever since. Somehow I retained the accent though XD On another note, you can definitely find plenty of interesting gemstones in the Midwest! The Great Lakes are known for being the agate capital of the world in fact! Here's a list of gemstones you can find without having to go digging, specifically those you can find in rivers or other bodies of water; Amethyst, Quartz, Jasper, Agate, Chert, Flint, Fossils (Coral, Crinoid, Trilobite, etc), Yooperlite, Feldspar, etc. I would definitely do your own research though! This is just my prior knowledge being a gemstone fanatic hehe. I know that personally I've incorporated gemstones as a healing and metaphysical tool in my Xenomoggy, but I'd love to see other Xenomoggy/Warriors AU writers use it :)

Yeah that matches up with what I've seen so far - agates and quartz everywhere. Although I have to decide if the crystals are more intangible healing or if I should break the rest of the way from my pokemon powers system and make a series of Magic Gemstones. I like the idea tbh, I can give them to the skulks and have loners trading them around.

Well, as of midnight, I've watched the final episode of Ash's journey.

They don't say anything beyond what Bulbapedia stated regarding Misty returning to Cerulean City. Though given her being adamant in resuming her Pokemon journey when she first reappeared and Ash's role in inspiring her to do so, more likely than not it's a layover much like with Brock and ultimately Ash. We know Brock at least was most likely going to lay over since he's explicitly no longer a Gym Leader since Episode 5 of the series. Ash also said they'll see each other again, indicating that the split up was temporary ultimately.

So far as Ash's goal's definition... well, I have to admit, befriending all Pokemon DOES actually come across as consistent with what they've shown in both the games and anime, so I can't complain too much. It's still a bit underwhelming though, especially considering the focus on leagues and similar events with the clear implication that THIS was how you become a master. I'd mention catching all Pokemon, but that got dropped fairly early anyways (I think around the time of Showdown at the Poke-Corral was the last time it was ever actually discussed). Oh well, at least it's explained.

Until the English dub comes out, I guess I've completed the whole thing for now. And I suspect that will be in a couple of months. Will probably watch that with closed captioning, however. After that, who knows what I'll do Pokemon-wise. Guess I'll do a retrospective on my attempts at bringing Misty back. Maybe make up for lost time by binge-watching all Pokemon episodes, yes, even the likes of AG, DP, BW, XY, SM (besides the ones Misty and Brock returned in), and the pre-Aim to Be a Pokemon Master Journeys episodes. Probably also get all caught up on Pokemon games as well (well, save for maybe Generation IX), starting with getting Pokemon Home. Not sure I have any interest in Pokemon Horizons. I've already got enough on my plate as it is, anyways, ESPECIALLY if I decide to commit to watching all Pokemon episodes, and possibly also movies as well.

One thing's for sure, assuming I do resume either Dragon Con or Anime Weekend Atlanta this year (that will depend on my schedule and budget. Well, that, and in the case of the latter actually having my own car), I probably can do other stuff besides trying to get petitioning done.

I'm going to list a bunch of them (albeit mostly TV) so you have a greater chance of finding Rage players. My favorite TV series are Eureka, Warehouse 13, Leverage, The Librarians, Abbott Elementary, Star Trek (primarily TNG), Bones, Criminal Minds, Glee, The Big Bang Theory, So Help Me Todd, Cyberchase and the 2009 reboot of The Electric Company. My favorite book series are Percy Jackson, Charlie Bone, The 39 Clues (only the first 10 books) and in terms of non-kids books The Dark Tower and the Robert Langdon books by Dan Brown. My favorite movies are Rent, Encanto, Legally Blonde, the first Back To The Future, Matilda and Inside Out. My favorite stage musicals (that most people have heard of and other than Rent and the musicals of Legally Blonde and Matilda) are Company, Hamilton and Seussical. And my favorite video games that aren't Overwatch that have classpectable characters are actually two video game series I like most of; Ace Attorney and Pokemon. Sorry about dumping all my favorites on there I have a lot.

Oh so Doom lesson is a disproportionate response thing. Well, I have had instances like that including reacting to another show I liked killing off a character by starting a petition to get the actress's new project canceled so the show could use canonical mechanisms of resurrection used elsewhere to bring the character back or getting so afraid that movie and TV studios won't like my screenwriting projects for [bullshit reason meant to disguise that the execs hate that it has too many diverse characters or progressive themes] that I started taking business classes in college with the aim of wanting to start my own studio so my projects could get made no matter what. And those are just the first examples that come to mind I actually did something about instead of just planned disproportionate response in my head I wanted to do but didn't have the resources to bring about.

Finally found my true God Tier (Witch Of Blood), now trying to find my land and could use your help? I know what my lesson is (essentially the serenity prayer, y'know, to be able to determine which things I can or can't control and accepting for those that I can't that that's just going to be the way things are) but I don't know which aspect that fits into never mind how to go from that to a land?

This one is by a female youtuber. She’s with two guys and they’re talking about childhood fictional crushes. Tho I’m gonna throw in crushes I have now too. :P

No lie, first three they bring up are absolute furry bait. XD Lola Bunny, Roxanne from A Goofy Movie, and Nala from Lion King. The last I can safely say I never had a crush on (maybe if she was humanoid like the first two, but eh. Not me), but Lola Bunny.... YES. XD I had a big crush on her as a kid. Not really Roxanne, personally.

Winry and Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist are the next ones. And of course, yes. I had a crush on both of these at one point. Two badass women, one of which is a mechanic that takes no shit? Yes please. XD

They dip into Inuyasha next. I didn’t have any crushes on anyone in Inuyasha, honestly.

Next is Starfire’s older sister. I believe her name was Blackfire or something like that. And just... do I even need to answer this? XD Can you even call yourself a wlw fan of Teen Titans if you didn’t have a crush on that villainess at some point in your life?

Next was Sailor Moon. I’ve never watched Sailor Moon.

Pokemon. They’re talking specifically Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny. Personally I never had a crush on either, but if I had to choose, it’s be Officer Jenny. Love me those badass women. :3

Next Hinata or Sakura from Naruto. Hinata. Definitely. Sakura’s cool but she honestly annoyed me back then, because she just spent way too much time Simping after Sasuke who didn’t even treat her kindly. It felt stupid. Hinata was adorable as fuck tho, and I loved her.

Jane from Tarzan. Was honestly too young to crush on anyone when I watched Tarzan, honestly.

Disney girls next. They said Esmerelda was the hottest one. I agree, but also, BLASPHEMY. Everyone knows Mulan is the best one. Hands down. Fight me.

And Launch from Dragon Ball. Yes. Love Launch. Both versions. Nowadays I want her to step on me. And then next they talked about Android 18. OF. FUCKING. COURSE. Even better than Launch. She’s awesome! :3

Code Geeass (or however you spell it) next. Never watched it but heard good things.

Bleach. Never watched the entire series (caught like, what I think is the final arc) but Rukia. 100%. I love me the small petite girls who are also badasses. Plus she gives off this like, energy. I can’t really explain it, but I feel like a relationship with her would be very fulfilling and she’d be adorable throughout it.

They dip back into Naruto, but Hinata is it for me.

Mirage and Mrs. Incredible from the Incredibles. Eh. Not really a crush for me, childhood or otherwise. Honestly, back then I was more into Violet, but not a full on crush.

Evangelion. I watched one movie and that was that. It was too sad. No crushes from here either.

Gundam Seed. Never watched it. Don’t really like Mecha anime.

Atla next. My crush here? A tie between Mai, Azula, and Toph. I liked crazy girls (still do) and I really REALLY liked Tomboys. Toph was great to me.

Next are two I didn’t watch.

Higurashi is next. I... have to admit, my crush here was, of course, Rena. XD

Harry Potter. My crush was Luna Lovegood. :3

Thoughts on Pokemon Twilight Wings Episode 3

“Let’s go to the Pokemon League together.”

“Wooloo, it has to be with you.”

Hop and Wooloo were this close, but he STILL chose to take Wooloo off the team during his series of losses.

Having most of Hop’s development happen off-screen in the game was a missed opportunity, and we were robbed. I hereby petition for a full Pokemon anime series with Hop as the main character.
