This is the reason why European cartoons, where there is an episode that deals with the topic of racism, fail: The creators are too much inspired by the Americas, unfortunately, because of this the topic of racism is poorly written, yes, instead of delving into this topic and what it looks like, they take everything from the USA, although racism exists in their countries (Although it is more complicated than in the USA, because many European countries are countries that fought for independence, and combining this fact, you can guess where everything comes from + a lot of racism came from the USA, including caricatures, yes, many countries were not aware that these were caricatures, they just thought, that black people look like this, which is quite a specific type of racism, because it adds a strange atmosphere due to ignorance, I have a bigger problem with blackface from Europe in times when the Internet had more information, because it is sus)
So yes, Europeans should stop taking everything from the US and dig deeper into what is happening in them to address it in a correct way, because racism in Europe operates on different levels than that in the US, and European cartoons fail in this because of the fact that they want to be acceptable to Americans, which unfortunately fails, because many of these episodes look like from miracolous or something like that (I thought that "Braceface" is French, but when I went to Wikipedia it shows that it is a Canadian-American-Chinese cartoon, and that's just because it has the typical problems of productions not from the US when it comes to this problem of raising this topic)
Unfortunately, Americanization in Europe often ends tragically because it is based on the satisfaction of Americans, and not on the actual raising of European problems, hence it is often shallow (Hello, "Bluey" people loved because it was not created for Americans and helps get to know the culture from Australia, which is great) and it's devastating because we really need a correct presentation of racism in Europe to teach about it, because compared to the USA, many countries in Europe, as I mentioned, were forced to fight for independence
All factors change how racism works in Europe and what it looks like, the context changes the meaning, which Americans unfortunately cannot understand (As seen in the context of Chloe with miracolous, who is French, so much hate from Americans for being racist, hello, someone forgot, that he lives in Europe and has a child? Plus, Thomas is terrible at writing about racism because he takes it from the US and makes it a million times worse)
If we want to discuss racism, in Europe it must be related to many factors that contribute to it, not like in the USA, because the country was colonizers and stole people from Africa to have slaves, here the context matters and it changes many things, It must be remembered that not all European countries were colonizers, e.g. Poland did not have any colonies
So if you wanted to discuss the topic of racism in Europe, it would have to be dealt with much differently than in cartoons from the USA, because it has different roots and works differently, and we don't burn people at the stake, damn it, especially children (Yes, I won't forgive you to you for Chloe from miracolous, same for Thomas himself), animations from Europe should stop pretending to be America 2.0 creatively, because it won't do them any good, I understand the inspiration, but taking it too much? It only harms the end resultb
A lot of racism from Europe is ignorance (Or American propaganda, the harmful one…) and makes more sense than racism from the US, because the historical context matters, yes, there are countries (Like France… I don't like France) that have problems like USA, but this is a small percentage of all countries located in Europe
So this all adds up to why the topic of racism in European productions doesn't work very well and I would advise creators to move away from pleasing the American viewer and create in a way that would be true (Even if it is inconvenient), let's not be another America, this world doesn't need it
These are simply my controversial thoughts which, as usual, will outrage Americans, but well, this topic works badly when it is copied from America

☺☺ you were right!
you were right! That's so exciting, he's completely integral to the plot!!! A catalyst for later drama, at least in part. I'm excited to see him play this character! A broken Vietnam vet. He's going to be great in this part!
So the article from last month that named him, was a bit off, but that's ok bc now we know more! 😊😊 and EM is Swintons characters daughter! He plays Swintons character's lover/father to her child! This confirms he's definitely got scenes with the leads!
"or her recounting the death of her child’s father, a Vietnam veteran with PTSD, in a house fire on the side of a highway."
----------
This will be a great character, the catalyst for so much drama within one family later, it makes you wonder what would be the lifelong impact of such a tragedy. A character sent off to proverbial slaughter, who most likely had to commit and witness acts he'd never wished to have even witnessed. And then returning to a country that doesn't understand PTSD or what soldiers went through, but are instead spat at in the streets and their mental health largely ignored/misunderstood. And then to have such a tragic end. That's so sad. This is a movie aiming to make me cry in a variety of ways. Lol I'm excited!
Sidenote: please skip if uninterested. I don't think his interview says he's given up on his career, so to speak, but maybe taking a more realistic view on his career prospects is healthy and warranted. Not everyone is going to be Brad Pitt, someone has to be Gary Oldman  (for differences in career paths, as an example).
Perhaps he's just not getting his hopes up bc in another interview he said his hopes were dashed, repeatedly by covid/strikes/not getting hired for gigs immediately after Vikings etc. AND the fact that Vikings isn't as popular a show as the fandom bubble created around all these actors in it made it seem like they were (I'm still calling them all, even Winnick an underdog bc she's "B list" or lower by "hollywood" standards. She's not up there in the hierarchy like say Reese Witherspoon. AHA realistically would be B list too.
That's not an insult but realistic. How many actors are in SAGAFTRA? Currently? And how many more newbies each year? Hollywood is always about the next big thing. But Hollywood is losing its grip on its dominance due to streaming and other factors.
Plus how many movies/shows are actually shot in Los Angeles nowadays? it's always a location elsewhere it seems.
His more humble approach is good, didn't he say he was aiming for a mads mikklesen (sp?) or NCW career? If so then he's well on track to having great character roles. He's going for longevity, not a quick buck. Maybe he has been picky, but it's working for him. He doesn't need to be in every lame remake hollywood comes up with that's destined to lose money. Tinseltown has lost its shine in the wake of technology from jets, to streaming services letting us see originals in original languages, instead of watered down remakes that pale next to the original. Or just original innovative stories, the foreign films/shows on netflix alone are great! I'm looking at you Nightwatch american remake that was just bad. 😳😳 He's even been able to write and star in his own idea for a tv show. There might be a second season. He can fly to locations, it's a modern world, he doesn't have to be isolated in "hollyweird made of vices" away from his home, family/gf and language/culture. And while Hollywood might take offense to him "complaining" about really long days, in the cold, and that Denmark has better labor laws....where's the lie? If there's something that isn't right, why should he be silent? Why should people be worked to the point that they can't even recover from being in hospital, no sick days or back up plan in case of illness on set. To the point that they've been broken down physically and mentally. Isn't that the reason labor laws exist, to protect people from suits who only care about schedules and money instead of the actors health? That goes for any job not just actors. Or their mental health, most people don't have to fly to a different country for jobs either, that's got to be rough no matter how much you love your job. But anyway, it doesn't seem to have affected his hiring status that much. 😊
But I think he's playing the long game quite smartly. He's going for a real career, not to be a teenage idol. Why be a small fish in an overlarge pond (hollywood) when he can be a bigger fish in a much smaller pond and build a career like Mads M? The same reason Ole Bornedal and Pedro Almodóvar stay in their respective countries (mostly). Bornedals's movie was remade, and changed, instead of just releasing It with subtitles. It could be that there they can create the art they want to without time/money/script restrictions? Bc in Hollywood they've even put time/plot limits on THE Ridley Scott! To the detriment of many of his films post gladiator ( kingdom of heaven should have just been the directors cut imo bc they cut important story parts). I say let him create art the way he wants to, he's on his timetable, not fans. It's his career that We are hoping to watch for the next 30-40 years. Or longer, Almodóvar is 74! Clint Eastwood is how old? We will just have to be patient for new projects. 😊😊 I know its fun to get all my Gary Oldman movies immediately bc he's been around for over 40 years ! I don't have to wait between Leon, Sid & Nancy or even The Scarlett Letter! To much newer works. Im working my way through from the beginning. 😳 imagine how his OG fans felt getting one or two projects every so often or a year. Having to wait to see the next film, if it was even released for very long in theaters (that's imo wild to think about). And then waiting months for it to come out on a dvd to see it if wasn't released for long. Or if you missed a show you would have to wait for it to repeat?!?! Things not being readily available would be so brutal, and here I was complaining that bridgerton season 3 was cut up in 2 parts!!! I couldn't binge it all in one day!! Patience is a virtue. And even Alan Rickman didn't get his "american debut breakthrough" until he was in his 40swith die hard. And he is a legend (just bc he passed away doesn't change the tense of his legendary status)! AHA has plenty of time, and is doing great. Imo.
Sorry for the side ramble, but I take issue with the idea that he can somehow do more than what he's done. He's right there are some things beyond our control. Or that his work ethic is somehow lacking, bc between owning a stake in a watch company( it being sold wouldn't change his stake/shares too much, maybe it made him more money?), doing multiple voice works, making movies, creating his own show and filming other shows/short films, and working for charities (plural) he's been a really really busy person. And side projects with photography. He's working fairly steadily and a lot. Choosing great projects from Shadows to RND. How much do they want him to work? Lol he doesn't exactly have a 9-5.
I'm still hoping that this movie will be the one that makes people see his skills, and set him up for the longevity he so desires. 😊😊😊 Best wishes to him and his lovely JM.
Edited to add, even though it's just his character that gets a mention, the reviews are positive. If he wasn't right or good in a stellar movie, it would have been mentioned. So he at the very least performed well enough to not get a bad review. So he's given another great performance!!!! But really with those two ladies as leads, with the story mostly focused on them, I'm impressed that his small role has been mentioned several times. Even if not by name right now, his part was noticed enough to make the articles, moreso than Nivola, in a P Almodóvar film that has Moore and Swinton in it. 😊😊 huzzah to anyone that's made it this far, still always surprised lol.

Additionally, owning a home in Cancun allows you to enjoy the many benefits of living in a tropical paradise, such as access to world-class beaches, water sports, and outdoor activities. This means you can enjoy a high quality of life without breaking the bank. Plus, the low cost of living makes Cancun an attractive option for those looking to retire or invest in rental properties.
Understanding the real estate market in Cancun Before you start looking for homes for sale in cancun mexico , it's essential to understand the local real estate market. The real estate market in Cancun is constantly evolving, with new developments always popping up. This means that various properties are available at multiple price points. One thing to remember is that the Cancun real estate market is heavily influenced by tourism. This means that properties near popular tourist destinations, such as the Hotel Zone or downtown Cancun, tend to be more expensive. However, there are also plenty of properties located in quieter, residential neighborhoods that offer a more affordable option. Another factor to consider is that many properties in Cancun are sold unfurnished, so you will need to factor in the cost of furnishing your new home. Additionally, it's essential to consider the cost of maintenance and upkeep, as many properties in Cancun require regular maintenance due to the tropical climate.
Tumblr media
Finding homes for sale in Cancun Once you understand the local real estate market, it's time to start looking for homes for sale in Cancun. There are a few different ways to find properties in Cancun, including working with a real estate agent, searching online, or attending local property expos. Hiring a real estate agent is a great option, as they understand the local market and can help you find properties that his owners want to sell meeting your specific needs and budget. Additionally, real estate agents can help you with all the legal as well as financial aspects of buying a home in Cancun. Another option is to search online for homes for sale in Cancun. Several websites list properties for sale. You can search for properties based on specific criteria, like price range, number of bedrooms, and location, among others. Lastly, attending local property expos can be a great way to find properties in Cancun. These expos bring together real estate agents and developers from across the region, allowing you to browse various properties in one place.
Choosing the right neighborhood in Cancun Once you've found a few properties you're interested in, it's essential to consider the neighborhood in which they are located. Cancun has several different neighborhoods, each with its unique character and amenities. For example, the Hotel Zone is known for its luxury resorts and world-class beaches, making it a popular tourist destination. However, this area's high cost of living may only be feasible for some. On the other hand, Downtown Cancun offers a more affordable option for those looking to live in the city's heart. This area is known for its vibrant nightlife, shopping, and dining options. Other popular neighborhoods in Cancun include Puerto Cancun, which offers a marina and golf course, and Playa Mujeres, which boasts a beautiful beach and luxury resort amenities.
Factors to consider when buying a home in Cancun When buying a home in Cancun, there are several factors to consider. First and foremost, it's essential to consider your budget and what you can realistically afford. Additionally, consider the size and type of property you need and the location and amenities that are important to you. Another factor to consider is the age and condition of the property. Many properties in Cancun are relatively new, but it's still essential to have a thorough inspection done to ensure no hidden issues or necessary repairs. Lastly, it's essential to consider the legal and financial aspects of buying a home in Cancun. This includes working with a reputable real estate agent, securing financing, and ensuring all necessary paperwork and permits are in order.
Tumblr media
Financing options for buying a home in Cancun Financing a home purchase in Cancun is more challenging than in other countries, as many lenders require a larger down payment and higher interest rates. However, there are still several financing options available to buyers. One option is to secure financing through a local bank or credit union. Many banks in Cancun offer mortgages to foreign buyers, although the requirements may be more stringent than for local buyers. Additionally, shopping around is essential to ensure you're getting the best interest rate and terms. Another option is to work with a private lender or mortgage broker. These lenders can offer more flexible terms and requirements than traditional banks, although the interest rates may be higher.
Legal considerations when buying a home in Cancun Buying a home in Cancun requires navigating several legal considerations, such as obtaining the necessary permits and ensuring the property is free of liens or other encumbrances. Additionally, working with a reputable real estate agent and attorney is essential to ensure that all necessary paperwork is in order. It's also important to note that foreign buyers may be subject to additional taxes and/or fees when purchasing property in Cancun. These fees can include transfer taxes, notary fees, and attorney fees.
Moving to Cancun - tips and advice Moving to Cancun can be an exciting and rewarding experience, but being prepared for the cultural differences and challenges of living in a foreign country is essential. Here are a few tips to help make your move to Cancun as seamless as possible: • Learn some basic Spanish. While many people in Cancun speak English, knowing some basic Spanish can help you navigate daily life and communicate more effectively with locals. • Be prepared for the heat. Cancun is in a tropical climate that can get boiling and humid. Be sure to dress appropriately and stay hydrated. • Be patient. The pace of life in Cancun can be slower than what you're used to, so be prepared to adjust your expectations and be patient as you navigate daily life.

exploring the country's pristine haven 🌄
Huge picturesque greenery… Sturdy stone houses… Refreshing air from the pacific… and forthright locals.
A vivid description of the smallest province in the Philippines, yet filled with numerous scenic views that will feast your eyes and infuse your minds with unforgettable memories. Famous for its towering lighthouses, untouched white sand beaches, and the popular “Honesty Store.” Branded as the country’s “Home of the Winds,” Batanes Province! Let me accompany you to a place that you might consider adding in this year’s bucket list.
Batanes, an archipelagic province in the Philippines, located at the northernmost part of the country. The natives who live here are called, “Ivatans,” they are commonly seen wearing vakul; a protective headgear against any natural calamities. The province is a far-flung area making it less well-known compared to others, however, the calmness it exudes away from the bustling and crowded cities is what makes it one for the books. You can start your trip to this beautiful place after an estimated two-hour flight from the Metropolis.
Aside from having the smallest region, this province also has the least population out of all the provinces in the country. Some people might worry about it, but think twice because it might also be an advantage for you. Lesser number of people means a bigger space for you to enjoy! The tourist attractions it offers remain uncrowded, unpolluted, and untouched. So what are you waiting for? Grab your chance to explore the enchanting beauty of this place.
Aside from its impressive destinations, the culture of Batanes is also a main factor that sets it apart from other rural areas. It is far more different from other destinations where modern life is extremely evident. If you want to find theme parks and movie theaters in Batanes, you would not find one because they do not have any! Instead, you can enjoy the beauty of mother nature while spending time with your loved ones! If you want to attend a party and have a drinking session, it is close to impossible as there are no night clubs around! However, you can try going near their lighthouses and watch how the stars shine for you. You might want to consider visiting the Basco Lighthouse, one of the place’s main lighthouses, located at Basco City in Batanes.
If you want to chill while sipping some coffee, you can try visiting the “Honesty Coffee Shop” in Ivana, Batanes. This store caught the attention of netizens after discovering that this place does not have any staff. Customers can avail goods and just leave their payment in the allotted boxes. In accordance with the name, people’s honesty is tested. It is also proof of having a zero crime rate in the whole region. This store is one of the manifestations of the culture of Ivatans of being truthful at all times. Some of you might think that there is nothing special about it, but come to think of it, not all people can show honesty especially when faced with challenges and difficulties.
Another special characteristic of Batanes is the structure of its houses. Due to its proximity to the largest ocean in the globe, Pacific Ocean, houses in Batanes are made from heavy stones in response to frequent natural catastrophes it encounters. The thick walls and foundation of their dwellings protect the Ivatans from the extreme weather conditions such as severe typhoons and earthquakes. These kinds of houses cannot be found anywhere else. The natives were able to mix their resiliency with their culture, it truly sets them apart from others. Think about how brilliant Ivatans are!
There are various unexplored places located in Batanes. Their culture is one of a kind as it clearly reflects their everyday lives and deeply-rooted morals. Plus, the locals can easily be close to your heart with their genuine nature. You can now start planning your whole day trip with your family or friends. But if you do not have the privilege of time, just laying down on the large greenhills will still make your vacation unforgettable. You can just stroll around while appreciating the panoramic views, watch how the big waves disappear from the ocean, and feel the calmness that this place can offer. By just doing mundane activities, you will fall in love with the place even more. Take time to appreciate it and experience a once in a lifetime free therapy given by this small island.
So what are you waiting for? If you are looking for a sign, then this is it! Pack your bags and start your out of this world journey in Batanes, a place where you can see the end of the Philippine road.

‘we’re decent humans bc we don’t oppress’ statements -- where is sex. lol sex is certainly a mark for discrimination
female sex faces material and sometimes violent oppression not on account of silly cultural trappings but due to unfortunate biological mechanisms (ie length of gestation vs infant mortality in the ancient world required a high pregnancy rate, average 5-6 children per woman, and robust younger populations were necessary for non-nomadic groups to maintain control of a location (early settlements and even cities)...obviously this is no longer necessary, but the mentality has dovetailed into modern political philosophies and spiralled to the point where people in rich countries are very brainwashed about what ‘female’ does and doesn’t imply-- it exceeds a level of docility necessary for governance). not everything is physical, yet some purely physical examples can still be found in the modern world: being forced to sleep outside when bleeding, or being stoned to death for having a broken hymen. in the first world, the wage gap makes everything more difficult for women on average and its pattern probably has something to do with expectations of maternity leave in otherwise healthy-looking adults. the wage gap is especially detrimental in less socialised societies where charity welfare the dole &c are seen as shameful; people share when coexisting and nothing is entirely set down in the money books, so there may be some compensations, but in a society where sharing amongst strangers is regarded with hostility and suspicion this will obviously be less. a bit tangential to the point but to illustrate that there’s probably some underlying dogma at play, people study business and or economics at uni & never discuss the claim that men also would have more liquid resources if women were paid more
gender used to be a word people used when they didn’t want to say S-E-X in an official document, letter, speech, whatever
when you change the meaning of 'woman,’ the few protections which ostensibly existed for women become technically meaningless
^this might be deliberate, i dunno
women are the marked group, yet this is farce: there is no character trait that women have in common which does not apply to all humans. what women have in common are the impositions of biology. Even female socialisation affects women to varying degrees, and there will always be an exception to every ‘woman trait’ because the distinctions were made to defame and thereby control women, and some people are more difficult to control than others. There may be some patterns in the ways people react to being treated a certain way from the inception of memory, which frames one’s entire world, but there is no female personality. And yet the crux of a movement which says you can opt into a gender is to say: there is some metaphysical difference between men and women which tradition has failed to account for. This transparently upholds sexism.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in certain biological realities, certain increased risk factors, separate health concerns, and particular traps hidden under tailored social forms, women have things in common with other women. These things are experienced, but not wholly subjective. Yet according to modern standards of correctness this group can’t be grouped and is unmentionable by changing the meaning of the word everyone has known. ‘Birthing people’ is how men have perceived women since ages, but plenty of women never have sex with men so they won’t give birth. Oddly it appears there’s a group of women who are attracted to women and absolutely must include anyone who claims to be female in their dating pool or suffer quite a significant amount of annoying conversation, plus death or rape threats which somehow people find acceptable to catalyse social ‘change’-- I guess this is another nameless group. efforts to effect change, btw, should be targeted at legislation and institutions and not at individuals (even if you bloody a person up a bit and force them to submit to your ideologies youve done nothing to change the world; violence already exists since time immemorial). anyway it's evincing the most witless docility to simply agree that an individual’s personal feelings of ~identity or ~inclusion ought to supersede legal and medical definitions in these same spheres.
apart from those whom the state deems to have forfeited rights by violation of social contract (incarcerated women most importantly, about whom literally none of these faux-left ‘activist’ (talkativist) types care a jot), all people should have the right to live their lives and be as annoying as is legal. When delicate handling of personal feelings comes at the expense of hard-won legal rights of an unnameable group, it should not, according to any considered and rational opinion, be sanctioned by law
what one feels inside should be respected in contexts where sharing on that level is appropriate. what is and isn’t legal has to do with people living cooperatively together, and depends on a common conception of reality. the law has been used to oppress groups, but in some cases laws are also floodgates against popular oppression. (See the terrifying example of a world in which people are whatever gender they say they are, regardless of physical appearance, but women still experience employment bias. A company can hire exclusively men provided some claim to be women, and women are not a group so cannot seek redress.)
The entire gimmick plays on the american left’s fear of being called racist. The movement brings race up frequently, often at very inappropriate moments (ie to gain funny social credit, not out of interest for black rights). clearly the united states cherishes a lot of sub-surface racism, which is why this fraudulent tactic can ever be successful. (then again, if white people went around calling themselves black because they’d supposedly had ‘the black experience’ people would, hopefully, tell them to get a grip...) It is common now for women to allow their rights to be jeopardised, while wearing a stupid grin. This movement was funded by male billionaires, probably under the slogan, ‘Women getting too uppity? divide them & trick those fools into denying their own existence.’ Somehow it worked.
I suppose it could be a coincidence that the acronyms movement is based in the united states, which has the lowest educational standards in the ‘first world’ and a long history of thoughtlessness. Note: the US constitution’s fourteenth amendment, which is supposed to guarantee all persons due process and equal protection under law, has been said not to apply to women, because there is no legal precedent for women being full persons (Scalia, 2011)

Tbh one of the most intriguing things about Urgentni Centar (aka ER: Serbia) is that it takes place in modern day. Like, the latest episode came out weeks ago. They have phones. If you wanted to see how ER would look fully in the 21st century, this is a pretty solid look.

Brutally Honest Reactions to Jikook
It was requested on Twitter that I talk about the less positive posts about Jikook moments from my live reactions research. These will NOT include any screenshots, but I will discuss what I saw. I will continue to keep posting positive things about Jikook, but the fandom reaction towards Jikook is one of the reasons why I feel so strongly about supporting them so much. Please read ahead if you are interested. I will also keep it out of the Jikook tag.
I will quickly add my own experience here before I continue. I am an early 2019 ARMY. I didn't follow any BTS accounts on Twitter until after I caught up on content. I then started following Jikook accounts once I got braver, because I could see a clear difference in the way the fandom talked about them. (Or not at all in some cases.) It wasn't until I started following Jikook accounts, that I knew about GCF Tokyo. For a fandom that hyped up Jungkook being a director for LGO, his previous work and especially GCFT is rather ignored. Especially when it's obvious that Jungkook has always had an interest in making videos.
GCFT
An important factor here is that GCFT was posted after Jimin's lovely twitter edit. From what I saw, no one had any real issues with Jimin's edit. The general consensus was that it was sweet that Jimin and Jungkook were finally able to go on a trip together and that Jimin made an edit out of it. But if that's the case, why were there then issues when GCFT was posted, that are still here today?
Compared to Jimin's edit, there is a clear sense of jealousy when GCFT was released. A "sweet trip" turned into a "not big deal" or started to include fake narratives. Some of which really confused me at first, until I asked someone at the time and got the truth.
There is a sudden change of tone aimed towards Jikook: “How dare they go on a trip together?” and “how dare they share it with us this way?.”  It's clear to me that this jealously suddenly began because of the editing style, the camera shots and the song used. All of which made you feel a certain way when watching GCFT, if you were not so blind or bitter. However, the fandom did it's best to try to belittle JK's work. Saying excuses such as the song was not intentional or that the editing choices were coincidental. That's not the case at all and to quote a certain song "this is no coincidence."
There is an interesting notion that some shippers and y/n's turned to fan fictions after GCFT was released. This suggests to me that they did indeed in fact feel the same way about GCFT. They got the message loud and clear, but had to try to tune it out with another fantasy because of what they felt. They wanted what Jimin and Jungkook had for themselves or another member.
GCF's after GCFT
After GCFT there was a need to show: "look Jimin and Jungkook aren't that close." Which Jikook didn't get the memo of and it shows that people were keeping an eye on them. However, this was only to be able justify their negative thoughts about the possibility of two men being together. They couldn't stand the idea and came up with every excuse possible to deny it. There were a fair amount of “don’t assume their sexuality” posts floating around.
There was also a definite shift after GCFT with Jikooker’s themselves. Of course they were supportive, but much more discreet about it. Afterwards though ,and up through to today, they got louder about Jimin and Jungkook's bond. It's clear this reflects in the fandom perception of them together as a unit or just on the timeline itself. There is almost an annoyance whenever they show up.
The newer GCF’s turned more into a competition between the members. Something which sadly continued even with the Life Goes On MV. Rather than seen as a cute maknae trip in Osaka, GCFO was used as leverage against Jikook to prove that they weren't that close. Which is bizarre in itself and it was like Jimin wasn't in the video at all.
The outrage that sparked when GCFH was released showed the true hypocrisy of the fandom. Jungkook set the tone beautifully to match the Winter Package location of Helsinki. The fact so many quickly jumped on this, but ignored his skills previously is very telling. For all those yelling about appreciating Jungkook, they only yell when it's about making themselves feel better about something.
Rose Bowl. I don't need to introduce this. However what I found interesting is that people outside of ARMY were more accepting of what happened than actual ARMY.  It also made me question what the definition of "ot7" is,  because these accounts were going around underneath posts with "stop shipping”, “they're just bros" or my most hated one "they do stuff like this in South Korea all the time."
The last one is an absolute hate of mine and is always used by NON Koreans. ARMY are often all about Korean culture until it's something they don't want to hear or know about. A general translation account has already pointed out that Jikook are extremely close due to lack of honorifics and it moe or less got ignored. Another account will mention the same , but for another unit, and it's worshiped to high heaven. Yet Jikooker’s are delusional for being the ones to understand the cultural significance of it?
Jungkook's Birthday in 2019
I am actually going to be calling out Jikooker’s here because the reverse happened this time. Others found Jimin’s Birthday video sweet, whereas Jikooker’s were being extremely rude and disrespectful ON the timeline towards Jimin about it. Plus the usual "Jikook broke up" malarkey that pops up twice a month happened. I only recently started researching this and I’m not even sure I can make a thread on it, because there was so much fighting on the Timeline about the Birthday video.
This is what spurred me on to write my twitter post about being careful about what you post and where your priorities lie. A lot of Jikooker’s were upset before Jimin posted. Not because "he hasn't posted.”, but because "he hasn't posted [for me]."
This is something that Jikooker’s have to wrap their heads around. We only see a tiny percentage of their daily lives. They also have each other's phone number and see each other daily. They also know each other extremely well and probably better than any of us actually will. It is not up to us what they post or what we see. Do we miss them? Of course. However, to instantly start hating them for that is wrong. You're acting just like the fandom first did when GCFT came out. These same people also acted like nothing had happened as soon as Jimin posted the photo of Jungkook later on.
Seoul Final
For those that don't remember Rose, she was a k-army translator that went to Seoul Final. In one of her live shows afterwards, she explained how other Karmy were surprised by Jikook's closeness on stage. It wasn't just us.
However ,on Naver, there was a storm brewing about Jimin treating Jungkook inappropriately and the way they were acting on stage. This was first started by Jungkook akages and then spread around to some of the fandom who decided to jump in.
This is one example of people using K-army as a weapon. That they know *best* when they suffer the same on their side with solos etc... It's also another example of the hatred towards Jimin.
This isn't something new. Shipping was fairly peaceful and kept its original definition of wanting two people to be together. Even if this did include two real people. It wasn't until the definition of shipping morphed into something new and possibly real, that things started to erupt in the fandom. And this eruption was sadly placed onto Jimin, as people saw him as a disruption to their fantasies.
This defamation of both Jimin and Jungkook's character from the fandom has been present since the beginning. They are seen as liars or not intelligent. That their closeness is fake, even though you can clearly see it from the start and then develop over the years. It's something that has always been beautiful to witness whilst watching, old content and new.
These examples of fandom reactions I have used are ones all related to expectations. If Jimin and Jungkook do not act as expected or they shock the fandom, one side will react negatively. The fandom also do not seem to like seeing Jikook be so loud, so to speak. And with the emergence of more Jikooker’s on social media, this horrid view of them will no doubt increase  Though many hate the term Jikook. It signifies the unit of Jimin and Jungkook and no matter what, they will do what they want too and continue to do so. Thank you for reading and feel free to ask questions if you have any!

Realistically would the nobility have differing accents in each kingdom of westros? Or would the nobility, having been educated by maesters, pronounce and speak similar, and it be the peasantry that accents differ? If not, which kingdom accents do you see as similar to real life ones we have today? I have seen debates over westerlands being German or English but not much on Stormlands or dorne.
To answer the second half of your question first, I have no idea whether a fictional region sharing cultural features with a real life location would also share an accent. Do they speak like the Scottish in the North? Dunno. I'm not a linguist and I dare say we haven't been given quite enough textual evidence. GRRM isn't exactly Tolkien, when it comes to languages. ;) Someone else might know better than me though!
I can speak to Western Europe in the Middle Ages, where we not only have different accents within kingdoms, we have multiple dialects or language groups. And then, yes, you'd also have a difference between peasants and nobility in terms of how they expressed themselves in their regional or city dialect.
England for a big chunk of the Middle Ages had 2 languages--English and Norman French (spoken by the nobility)--due to conquest! Plus, within the English language you had several regional dialects. By the late medieval period, Norman French was being replaced by English amongst the nobility, but you still had dialect diversity. For an example of that diversity, Chaucer wrote in the East Midlands dialect, but he also knew the Northern dialect and some characters speak it within Canterbury Tales. There were 5 dialects in Middle English, 4 in Old English. These dialects were shaped by which Germanic group conquered those areas. Kentish--Jutes & Frisians; West Saxon--Saxon; Mercian--Southern Angles; Northumbrian--Angles. In Middle English, those influences are still holding on, but there are other differences as well. For example, the Northern dialect probably was shaped more so by Norse. Invasion and settlement left a strong linguistic fingerprint.
In the medieval Italian city-states and kingdoms, linguistic development was a little different. Modern Italian is a descendant of a regional dialect: Florentine. You can thank the humanists for that, like Dante, who wrote in Tuscan, and Boccaccio, who wrote the Decameron in Florentine, which is a subset of Tuscan. I think there are somewhere around a dozen sub-dialects within just Tuscan. Throughout Italy, you would have found a multitude of dialects evolved from Latin. There are lots of dialects in Italy!
France had 2 major medieval language subgroups: langue d'oil and langue d'oc. Where these languages were spoken you'd find a pretty significant cultural difference and they were politically not united. Within those 2 groups you then had several dialects. Additionally, you also would find Breton (Celtic) and Germanic dialects.
Langue d'oc dialects are also spoken in certain regions of Spain. "France" and "Spain" didn't exist geographically with the borders we recognize today of course, which explains this. Medieval Spanish kingdoms had a variety of dialects and languages, most of which were Romance languages. There was also Basque and its dialects, which interestingly is pre-Indo European. Today's Castilian (or Spanish) comes from the language of the kingdom of Castile, much like today's Italian comes from Florentine.
Why all this proliferation? Printing standardizes language and Europe was a patchwork of cultures and kingdoms formed by conquering groups, who all contributed to linguistic diversity layered over Latin in most cases. To what degree depended on lots of factors.
With Westeros being pre-printing press, I'd expect variety not just in the pronunciation of language, but also the vocabulary and grammatical structure, which we don't find really. They all speak the Common Tongue. On the other hand, in Westeros, we have waves of invaders, but they more uniformly affect the island, save Dorne, which has a rather unique history and culture as a result. Dorne is the place where I would 100% expect to find a different language or at the very least dialect. Instead, they still speak the Common Tongue with a more pronounced "drawl" or accent.
GRRM can get away with presenting more uniformity in language perhaps with a different kind of history underpinning the kingdoms, but I still would think in a "medieval" world where travel is challenging, leaving populations more in isolation than in the modern era, and pre-printing press, we'd expect to find multiple dialects, never mind different accents, which is still very much the case in the modern world.
As for educated maesters--I don't think they'd bestow unity of speech. Teachers (so, maesters and septas) don't particularly shape our accents. Our parents do. Monks and priests were the teachers of medieval Europe, tutoring the nobility and future kings, and they all (hopefully) knew Latin, and yet, regional languages and dialects persisted.

Mother 3 - An In-depth Critique and Review
Ah, Mother 3, how I love you so!
The game which with which I forwent all possible aspirations to healthily integate into normal High School society: imagine walking into a party, people are drinking and being cool, and you ask them if they have ever played a very underground, very deep RPG only released in Japan called "Mother".
Yeah! I know! It's like you're asking to be bullied, and I realized it too late.
But anyway!
Mother 3 is one of the most important games you could ever play --alas, if only it wasn't near impossible to obtain it.
Yet, perhaps this adds to its allure and to the power of its narrative --a narrative which, by the way, I'm convinced is the very actual reason why it will never release formally in the United States.
As time has passed, I've actually become more and more impressed about how relevant the game is to the socioeconomic reality that we are in nowadays. I'm impressed that Shigesato Itoi had all of this in his mind's eye as early as 1996, and that the story was already written down in 1999!
Right now it's been 14 years since it's release on the GBA, but I think that the game is a timeless classic and warrants a playthrough now more than ever. Wanna know why?
Wanna find out?
Part 1. "A Japanese Copywriter's Americana"
The year is 1989 and a Japanese Copywriter --somebody who writes "Catch Copies", which are a sort of a long-form slogan that is very common in Japanese pop culture to advertise)-- by the name of Shigesato Itoi became a fan of the Dragon Quest series of RPGs, which are massively popular in Japan, even to this day. He also loved video games: he's asthmatic, so he recalls only being able to sleep sitting up as a child, and having to occupy his lonely time through asthma attacks playing video games, since he had to sit up and had nothing else to do at night.
His love of RPGs would linger in his mind until 1989 when he had an opportunity to meet with Hiroshi Yamauchi and Shigeru Miyamoto and was offered the opportunity to develop a video game with Nintendo. Harkening back to the endless hours he poured into Dragon Quest, his concept eventually took form by deriving from it. He called the story "MOTHER", as a reference to John Lennon's "Mother", since he is a very hardcore fan of The Beatles. The games have tons of obvious influence by old American films and comics, like ET and Peanuts, which he also loved very much.
For MOTHER, he wanted to explicitly go against the grain, by designing an RPG without "Swords and Magic", which stereotypically most RPGs follow, even from things as minor as to design a protagonist who was weak and vulnerable, asthmatic and without a Father Figure, yet, still heroic through much toil --which reflects Ninten from the original MOTHER for the famicom.
Miyamoto, in his usual taskmaster persona, arranged a team to work with Itoi for the creation of the RPG, by bringing in people from HAL laboratory and APE Inc, and thus MOTHER was born to great Japanese Acclaim. A game which took many risks in its genre, such as eschewing the idea of a separate overworld from navigation in the towns, the subject matter, the movement system and many other things which made it quite Unique. It was so popular that soon after the first project was released, MOTHER 2 started development, involving people from what's currently known as Game Freak and HAL Labs.
MOTHER 2 is a very unique game because it was the very first time that the series attempted to make an incursion in the Americas. Releasing in a big flamboyant flashy box, with a strategy guide and a bunch of goodies included, MOTHER 2 released as Earthbound in the states, a bigger and better version of the vision of the first game. Better graphics, Beatles references, sampled audio, pop culture cornucopia, it's all here and then some!
Famous for its role in technically driving the game, Satoru Iwata, ex-CEO and software developer for Nintendo,7 of Wii acclaim, helped the game meet its 1996 release date. It is known that the original version of the game ran into deep technical issues which the original dev team was not able to overcome. Once Satoru Iwata got involved, the game was reworked to a viable version and released to much critical acclaim. In his own words, he proposed to rewrite the tech that powered the main game. It was a matter of either continuing with the current code and be done in two years, or redoing everything and being done in six months under his vision, he said.
No matter its strong promotion from Nintendo, the marketing got botched, and the game paled compared to the flashy and bombastic magical RPGs of its era, like Final Fantasy VI, Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger of all things. So, Earthbound faced a very bad destiny in the states, by releasing to low acclaim, bad review scores and terrible sales numbers --even though it eventually reached Cult Classic status, due to its pure hearted nature, its hallucinogenic themes and characters, and its fantastic spirit over all.
And this game is worthy of discussion by itself a whole bunch because of the ripple effects it had in video game culture in the Western world. Enter starmen dot net. To this date, the epicenter of discussion for everything related to the MOTHER series. There you had me as early as 2002, browsing a half-rendered version of starmen dot net in a dingy computer in some dingy internet cafe in some shitty neighborhood in Mexico, trying to be a part of the discussion and the hype.
To this date, I consider starmen dot net as the non-plus-ultra case for how passionate Internet fan cultures can become.
Flat out, no other fandom has ever came close to the level of dedication, attention to detail and passion to tribute the original creation around which its fans congregate. A massive amount of fan paraphernalia has come out of starmen dot net --yes, even Undertale, 2015 indie darling RPG thing, originally got started on the Starmen dot net forums. People married and even started large, commercially viable enterprises, such as Fangamer.net, the firm which publishes Undertale, from starmen dot net.
...and then... silence...
After Earthbound's 1995 release, we enter a ten year hiatus for the series.
Even though both MOTHER games were incredibly popular in Japan, HAL Laboratory and APE Inc. weren't able to successfully make a jump onto the third dimension for the series come the Nintendo 64 era. They had a demo come the infamous Spaceworld 96, where a bunch of pre-release games for the then called "Ultra 64", which was the codename for the Nintendo 64, were showcased. And lo and behold, we have a sequel to Mother coming out, called Mother 3, the ROM for which has never been found by the way.
I'd love to get a look at the materials in that ROM.
The scarce footage we have available from it exhibits some of the elements we ended up seeing in the final released version of the game, like some of the original music like the Mozart ghost theme, and the DCMC section, albeit in a more primitive low poly way. It is known that both studios weren't very proficient at 3d Game development yet, which was still nascent. This together with other factors, such as the fact that at some point development was moved onto the unreleased-in-America, unpopular 64DD addon, undisclosed factors dropped the game into development hell, which ultimately led to its cancellation in the year 2000.
Plenty of mystery surrounded the now defunct project, to the dismay of a bunch of passionate fans in Starmen.net and elsewhere online. However, it turned out that the valiant effort of the fans, who made a huge amount of effort to campaign for the revival of the series, even mailing fanmail, fanart and other materials to the Itoi Shinbun offices in Japan (a titanical task in the world of the early 2000s).
Fast forward to 2003, and the Game Boy Advance, the little portable console that could, was in its Apex. Due to Satoru Iwata's campaining, it was announced that development on MOTHER 3 would be restarted, this time in 2D, for the gameboy advance. Much anticipation in Starmen.net followed this announcement, since it finally validated its efforts...
Come 2006, once the console was well into its end-of-life, with small nudges to play the game on a Gameboy player if possible, perhaps to try to follow suit with its predecessors, the sequel finally released to much acclaim. But what did Shigesato Itoi have in store for everyone all along? What kind of beast had just been unleashed onto the World?
Part 2. "Of Monkeys and Men"
Mother 3 follows the story of a young boy, Lucas, in a multi-chapter structure, which is novel for the series but not unheard of in the RPG genre. Besides this, the RPG plays very similar to your usual JRPG fare, and basically uses the Ultimately polished version of the MOTHER series' mechanics, groovy backgrounds and all.
The first three chapters of the game follow the perspective of different characters residing in Tazmilly Village as the plot of the game unfolds. The plot is centered around the residents of a peaceful town in an Island in an unspecified location, Nowhere Islands, which in my opinion is an allegory both of Japan and America, moreover with the fact that the game of the logo very clearly has a rising sun covered in metal, in a logo that's an amalgam of two different things which don't match, a subtle reference to the game's undertones to come.
From these residents we come to know the daily lives of a particular family: Flint, a farmer; Hinawa, his wife (a name in reference to Sunflowers, Himawari, her favorite flower), and their twin children, Lucas and Claus.
The game begins in the midst of their idyllic life in the mountains visiting Lucas' grandfather Alec, and playing around with meek dinosaurs which inhabit Nowhere Islands. See, in the world of Mother 3, no violence truly exists, and people have come to live peacefully with each other and nature. There's no such thing as the concept of money, Instead relying on an economy that's mostly based around bartering and hospitality.
However, everyone's lives veer into turmoil once strange alien beings invade, the Pigmask army, an army of big, fat and slovenly creatures dressed in pig-like attire, who seem to have a vast amount of technology and resources at their disposal yet aim for Nowhere Islands for colonization.
The Pigmasks have an as-of-yet unnamed leader, who is demanding them to make everything in the World "bigger, cooler, stronger and faster", and thus they seize Nowhere Islands by force of bombings and a forest fire to use its flora and fauna. And thus, while escaping from the forest fires returning from Alec's home, Hinawa tragically gets killed by a Drago which has been modified to be aggressive against its nature through robotics implanted in it by the Pigmask army.
There's an unused cutscene in the game's ROM data where Hinawa, instead, dies by bomb explosion...
...yeah, I'm just... gonna let you process that one by yourself ;)
The Drago left a fang in the middle of her heart, which is recovered by one of the Tazmillians and provided back to Flint along with a fragment of her crimson dress. Besmirched and angry, Claus, the festier one of the twin children, sets out to try to hunt the drago and achieve revenge, but he goes missing... Flint embarks in search of Claus and to kill the drago, and thus the first chapter of the game concludes, with the implication that Claus has gone missing...
With Lucas' family torn to shreds and The Pigmasks invading Tazmilly, it seems that we're in a situation ripe for disaster.
Chapter 2 follows Duster's adventure, which runs in parallel (as every other chapter will) to other chapters' stories. Duster is the last heir in a bloodline of Cat Burglars whose abilities are not in use anymore given that Tazmilly has no more commerce or crime. However it turns out that the Pigmask invasion puts his skills back in demand to infiltrate Oshoe Castle and retrieve an artifact which the Pigmasks are after and which Duster's family is the guardian of. The nature of the artifact in Oshoe Castle is as of yet unknown, however it is implied that it is important to the fabric of Tazmilly village.
At Castle Oshoe, Duster meets a mysterious princess, Kuma-tora (which translates literally to "beartiger", in allusion to the dichotomy of her existence, since she is very... masculine in attitude and refers to herself with, yes, male pronouns, perhaps anticipating identity politics by 14 years at least), who is also after the artifact in the Castle, the Hummingbird egg. The chapter ends with the Hummingbird Egg going missing, and a mysterious peddler of goods arriving into town, while Kumatora and Duster's father realize he has gone missing...
Chapter 3 follows the adventure of a little Monkey, Salsa, which gets flown into Nowhere Islands to perform a job. This is a novelty in a town where the concept of a job doesn't exist as of yet, however, the peddler of goods is going to need a lot of hands if he wants to fullfill his vision. The peddler, Fassad (which is a tongue in cheek way to say "facade", right?) promises to all residents in Nowhere Island eternal happiness if they buy his newest product, the "Happy Box", a television-like contraption which glows with a warm light and which people are attracted to and engrossed by. For this, he introduces the concept of money and swindles people his way, convincing them that this is the way to go and promising them excitement and benefit if they listen to him.
Salsa delivers Happy boxes throughout the whole chapter, and gets shocked, even in the middle of the night, if something goes wrong with his job or tries to escape due to a shock collar implanted by Fassad. However, he runs into Kumatora and Wess, Duster's father, and they ploy together to free up Salsa and mess up Fassad's forceful takeover of Oshoe Castle, when Lucas shows up with several dragos in tow and fights against the Tank invasion of Oshoe Castle.
(A foreign animal being introduced into a new society with the express intent of exploiting it to propel forward a commercial enterprise by toil... geez, I dunno, where have I heard that one?)
From Chapter 4 Onwards the game adopts a more conventional JRPG scheme, through a timeskip which happens literally two years in the future. In this future version of Tazmilly, money (Dragon Points) and ATMs are now existent, similar to other Mother games. The game follows Lucas' adventure through a now-modernized and industrialized technologically advanced Tazmilly, trying to retrieve the "seven needles" from the island, which are soon enough shown to be a source of great power that the pigmask army is also after and to which Lucas must try to get to first due to a calling by mysterious beings which inhabit Nowhere Islands, the Magypsies. With a lot of emotional moments, such as Lucas having visions of his Mother in the middle of a field of Sunflowers, we follow the adventures of the party as they infiltrate the pigmask ranks and gather information about its nature and intentions.
It is then discovered that the pigmasks are commanded by a Masked leader, who dominates the power of thunder through a tower which was built in the middle of the town and which strikes anybody down with thunder if they overstep the Law and Order that the pigmasks have implemented. The party fights this masked leader in bouts while exploring the world and reuniting with a now missing Kumatora and Duster, who are found to have settled as employees in a Nightclub called "Club Titiboo".
Eventually, through his travels, Lucas gains an artifact from Mr. Saturn, the inhabitants of a special region in Nowhere called Saturn Valley and which has been passed down through all three Mother games, called the "Franklin Badge". When equipped, this item allows the bearer to become immune to lighting attacks and reflecting them back.
The party soon discovers that the world is inhabited by an special elder race, existant from before the creation of Tazmilly village and who know more about everything going on with the invasion, called the "Magypsies", a race of transexual, magical creatures who help Lucas discover the fact that he has Psychic abilities, also known as "PSI" within the MOTHER canon. He uses these to proceed further in his adventure to pull the seven Golden Needles, the first of which Fassad was attempting to get to, in the Courtyard of Oshoe Castle.
Lucas moves into a city called "New Pork City" in the conclusion of the game, which is a town built by the pigmasks completely in the honor of Porky, full of all sorts of Pigmask paraphernalia and amusement. It is found that the seventh and final needle is inside humongous tower in the middle of the city, the Porky tower.
Moreover, it is also revealed that the Pigmask army is led by Porky, known as "Pokey" in the American localization of Mother 2, Earthbound. Pokey is shown to have developed into a tyrant as an adult, with unlimited lust for blood and power, who used Doctor Andonuts' Phase Distorter after the events of Earthbound to mess around with the unlimited realities and dimensions it gave him access too, as a petulant child does with a video game. Once he got kicked out of every other possible reality due to the chaos he created, he found the Nowhere islands and decided to mess with it.
The climax of the game comes around Chapter 7, when the now fully-developed party runs into Leder, one of the original Tazmillian villagers, a lanky and really tall person who never spoke, not a single word, in the game until now. Leder is revealed to be the only person who knows what is the true nature of it all: tazmilly village is the remanider of civilization once the world of Mother 2 collapsed by cataclysm. A flood wiped away everything and the very last remainder of people who survived fled to nowhere islands in a big white ship and settled there, willingly forfeiting all technological advances and knowledge of the world into the Hummingbird egg, the artifact that Duster's family protected in Oshoe, a device which wiped everyone's memories, with the intent of undoing civilization and living back in a peaceful village-like state again.
It is revealed that when all seven needles are pulled, a supernatural power on which the island is built will be awakened. This supernatural power is revealed to be a Dragon by Leder, who had to be subdued by the ancestors of the Magypsies so people could live in Nowhere islands as their last resort. Whoever pulls out the needles which keep it in slumber will pass the intentions and nature of their heart onto the dragon. Thus, Lucas must be the one who pulls out the last needle instead of Porky or the masked man, in hopes that a second cataclysm like the first doesn't happen again.
After making their way through all the pigmask defenses, Lucas and Co. face off with Porky, who is now a bedridden, pathetic man. Doctor Andonuts from Mother 2, appears here, and is revealed to have developed a solution to contain Porky, the Absolutely Safe Capsule, which is a capsule which once it's sealed, it can never be opened again, trapping whoever is inside forever in a parallel universe where only them exist. The party is successful in locking Porky in the absolutely safe capsule, so, porky is not hurt by the end of mother 3, instead, he just has been locked away forever in a place far away from everyone else --perhaps, providing the ultimate form of comfort that a personality like his would seek after.
At the end of the game, Lucas and Co. face against the masked man, who is revealed to have been Claus all along, who, brainwashed with Pigmask ideologies, is hellbent on drawing out the final needle to awaken the dragon. Lucas and Claus face off in an emotive fight, where they suddenly remember each other and how friendly they used to be with each other... and moreover, their Mother. Claus strikes Lucas with thunder in a final murderous attempt before snapping out of the Pigmask brainwashing. But since he had the Franklin badge on, the attack is reflected and mortally strikes Claus, who, in his final moments, finally remembers Lucas...
The ending of the game is open ended, without showing much of what happened once the seventh dragon needle was released, so the ending of the game is subject to interpretation. However, it is heavily implied that, since Lucas was the one who released the needle, the dragon, once awakened, did not destroy Nowhere islands and instead led to a regeneration of existence.
Part 3. "A Musical-Adventure"
One of the pre-release materials for the game called it a "Musical" adventure, and I think this is completely warranted: the musical beautifulness of Hip Tanaka, famed Nintendo composer and long-time MOTHER music autheur, is joined by the expertise of Shogo Sakai, who gave the soundtrack a more mature, sample-based vibe, compared to the early two more "chiptuney" soundtracks in the series. The songs are all-time favorites of mine, and I still the soundtrack every so often given all of its mystique, its eclectiness and curiosness.
But the musical aspect to the game doesn't stop here: as an addition to the mother series, the battle system has now been changed to become rhythm-game based instead of simply turn based. If the player attacks an enemy during a battle, it is possible to strike additional damage as long as the player continues to press the attack button in rhythm to the background music in upwards of 16 hits. A full combo is incredibly effective and plays a nice fanfare if executed correctly.
As an enthusiast of rhythm games, this premise captivated me from the get-go and it works wonders, functioning as a breath of fresh air to the way overplayed mechanic of turn-based combat, which has existed since the 80s. It also provides a certain nice feeling to combat, given how every character has their personal musical instrument, with lucas being a guitar, Kumatora being an electric guitar, Duster being a bass, and Boney, Lucas' pet, being... barks.
Besides this the mechanics from Mother 2 are translated almost completely: every character has a rolling HP and PP counter, which rolls down over time as an airport display instead of immediately as in other RPGs. This may seem minor, but it adds an amazing element of strategy to the game, since it is possible to recover an ally from mortal damage if a healing PSI is executed against the clock before the counter hits 0.
Besides this you got almost completely conventional standard JRPG fare, with the character being able to move in eight directions in the overworld, with the addition of a run button, preemptive attacks and overpowered kills. Once you start facing enemies in the overworld, the first one to attack can be decided depending on the angle that the enemy was approached with: sneak up on an enemy from behind and a green swirl will display, which means that you get to attack first; if an enemy sneaks behind you, you'll see a red swirl and they will attack first instead. Otherwise, a gray swirl will display, which follows conventional order according to your stats.
Part 4. "WE WANT MOTHER 3, REGGIE!"
...Mother 3 will never be released in America.
This may be too dramatic of an opinion to have but I see no other alternative. For the most of fourteen years, Nintendo of America's head honcho Reggie Fils-Aime was requested to release and distribute the game in the americas, and for twenty years the request fell on deaf ears, citing commercial inviability, potential copyright infringment and many other reasons.
But I think the main reason that the game will never be localized is because Mother 3 was a passion project, pushed for by people with personal involvement in the series and very special sensitivities about it. Shigesato Itoi and Iwata were personal friends. The game appeals to japanese tastes and touches on issues and subjects that the American population is very politically sensitive to.
For example, in chapter 6 Lucas and the party experience a bad trip because they eat hallucinogenic mushrooms in a swamp. This leads to Lucas having visions of his family in a very bad light, with implications of violence and abuse, to try to get at the players' deepest sensitivities. Even the name of the real player is used here.
I think that it's impossible that nintendo will release a game which openly involves Hallucinogenics no matter its innocent exterior. This is the kind of subject in media that Japanese audiences usually handle better than American audiences.
Besides this, the game has very clear allusions to accelerated capitalism, anti-capitalism, colonization, slavery, transexuality and the changes and chaos they have brought onto the world, which is a tough subject to tackle in the Americas, which is still part of an ongoing, vicious culture war.
Particularly, I adore how the game even tries to convey its points through the Sound Test, of all places. Mother 3 has a collection of music pieces, which are available on demand within the game itself. Of those, there's a music piece which is a remix of Pollyanna, the Mother 1 theme, which is present throughout the series, in an nod to the previous games in the series. The hallway where this plays is full with mother references and it expects the player to sit down and watch passively all the references in order.
But this is meta, amazingly enough. The hallway is located in the final section of the game, before facing Porky, who is presented as the effigy of vicious capitalism in the game. As if he left them in his palace just as collectibles, things to be purchased or acquired.
The name of the song which plays during this sequence? "His Majesty's Memories". Subtle.
Nintendo is a company which tries to keep its image clean and sterile, so it can be used broadly for a variety of projects, usually with family friendly intent behind --and even more so in the US.
However, Nintendo has a history of risky bets with Mature content, which has become even more glaring lately: you got Eternal Darkness, Astral Chain, Bayonetta, No More Heroes, the disappointing Metroid Other M... this together with the fact that most of their target audience is of age now, could, at least remotely, mean that, perhaps, Mother 3 releasing in some manner in the future, localized in English, could happen: however, this is not happening at least the way I see it.
Once the game was released, there were several different campaigns online to try to gather Nintendo's attention: a 10k signature strong petition was completed among several other things, and if this hasn't lead to results... I don't know what will.
Part 5. "No Crying Until the End"
Mother 3 is a beautiful, engrossing and captivating game which is hidden away under a cutesy exterior. Its complex themes and characters are evoking of deep human truths which call out to us and ask us to reflect on things and the way we're living. Of strong pedigree in its series and with a superb musical production behind it and a mastermind of writing, MOTHER 3 excels at what it sets out to do.
When the game released, the game had a "Catch Copy" written for it by itoi himself, which called the game "Strange, Funny and Heartrending", and I think this is a beautiful way to bring everything full circle. Itoi wrote on the Advertisement that if you wanted to cry because of Mother 3, you should save it until the end. And those three words are a fantastic way to close off this review: if you want a game that will provide you with bizarre and laugh out loud moments one second and tear-jerkers the next, Mother 3 is the game for you.
And the game is just so poignant... to this date not only do I think it's one of the most expressive and well done pixel-art based game, I still find myself impresse at how much I can connect with the characters through small, cutesy sprites and pastel color pallettes, lack of Unreal engine and RTX graphics card be damned. Themes of grief, missing a loved one who's gone, the feeling of loss of identity due to accelerating social and economical change, how tyrannical political figures establish themselves and change communities, sexual and identity politics and how the modern world was to have shaky and voraginous sexual identities become commonplace... it's all there, and masterfully, tastefully expressed, without that icky feeling of "agenda"ism that you can get sometimes from Hollywood productions when they try to hamfist tropes and "messages" down people's throats. You know that feeling? I hate it when it happens in movies or shows I'm watching just to have a good time, and then I get some succint propaganda.
But MOTHER 3 is a kind beast, trying to reach to your heart and directly speak to the mind of the player. It tries to show us what it thinks of modernity and to make us seriously ponder what the frick is up with all of this shit, and thinking it has kept me for the last 14 years, and I anticipate another 20 ahead of me. And you can join me in reflecting about this...
Or maybe you can just go back to your happy box. Whichever way you choose.

Hi, aijee! how are you? It's been so...long since I visited your tumblr account. I've been reading your rants and thoughts about your personal life and mw prompt and I really appreciated it. As someone who also having a hard time in my workplace, I've been feeling so lonely and depressed these days. I'm happy that I finally got a job and will be able to help my family in terms of financial but I'm feeling lonely because of the people I've been working with (1/2)
I feel left out and sometimes, i feel like they don't like me or is it just me, overthinking ㅜ.ㅜ anyway, I miss reading your fics. Hope, you're doing well these days!~
Hi anon, I'm feeling alright these days, thank you for asking. :) Not the best that I can be, to be frank, but I'm trying to remind myself that recovery and healing is a slow process, equally for physical and mental/emotional ailments.
Excuse the long read below (though I feel like you probably anticipated that!) I resonated with your messages.
If you'll let me vent a bit, I don't want to beat myself up for not being as energetic/productive as I used to be. The worst part of my brain keeps thinking, "Yeah, sure, we're in a pandemic, but life has always been hard, and there are so many other people who are doing just fine in this pandemic." In reality, a pandemic is a pandemic. It's unprecedented, a big fucking deal, and vaccines don't solve the wider societal issues connected to it. None of us have ever prepared for this sort of thing. Plus, we will never really know if people are truly okay based on face-value and assumptions; hell, fully vaccinated people are still suffering worldwide—financially, socially, constantly weighed by the pressure of, again, a global pandemic. I don't want to keep reminding people of it, but I guess I'm trying to remind others (and myself, honestly) that this never-ending feeling of burnout isn't out of nowhere and isn't a direct reflection of our capabilities.
To actually address your messages, first of all I want to congratulate you on your job and your newfound opportunity to financially support your family! Your family is lucky to have someone like you financially supporting them in a difficult time. Hopefully that part of your life isn't too big a burden. (I know too many people who work hard for their families, only for families to leech off of them, largely due to this societal expectation in many Asian cultures that earnings and resources are for the betterment of the whole family.)
I'm sorry to hear that your workplace life is on the more sad side of the spectrum, and that you feel lonely and depressed there. If I correctly recall, it's a medical job, right? I imagine The Big Health Problem worldwide isn't helping, if not already exacerbated medical workplace environments since long ago.
If I may offer some perspective, I understand the feelings you're feeling. Starting a new job is really tough! You're the new person so you haven't established relationships with others yet. You don't know everything or where things are located as easily. You need to ask for help. And if the people around you aren't receptive to that "baby worker" stage, then it can be tough to feel like you belong. It'll feel lonely, like you're not doing something right and/or other people don't like you because of inevitable gaps in what you know.
I felt super incompetent through the first few months of full-time work, like my boss only hired me because I worked part-time for them as a student (which is nothing compared to the real job). Everyone around me was always busy, smart, accomplished, etc. But I realized that because everyone is so busy (+ social distancing always in the air), hanging out is rarely on the mind. I had to go the extra mile outside my comfort zone to invite people to eat with me, or talk about non-work things, etc. Most people were pretty receptive to that! Those who weren't might not be in the mood (they have their own complex lives, after all) or preoccupied; maybe a different day/time, or maybe they're just not someone I should engage with. That has nothing to do with me. I know not every workplace is like that, but I like think that normal human beings with some heart would be glad to socialize or eat together if invited.
I don't want to push advice onto you, because that's not what you asked for. But my intention is to hopefully lighten your burden by pointing fingers at uncontrollable circumstances and the personal lives your coworkers live outside your knowledge.
Additionally, I'm a huge introvert with anxiety and depression, and I'm the type of person who would obsess over how I think other people think of me. But through some therapy insight, lots of reflection, and even more time, I've come to the realization that how I think people think of me is not the same as how people actually think of me. It makes sense that we'd have that defense mechanism though, right? To minimize conflict and to protect ourselves from hurt. But then I'd overthink literally every interaction I'd have with people and run my internal self ragged with negative opinions of myself that didn't come from others—they came from myself. I imagine that the "perfection" expected of medical workers could factor into this defense mechanism and cycle. It took me a long time to learn that I can stop bending myself backwards in the desperate hope of preventing negative opinions about me, since those will exist no matter what.
This isn't something that can be fixed, clearly, and might not even be that relevant to you. But I wanted to mention it anyway in the chance it would be.
I obviously don't know you personally, or the nuances of your workplace. There are probably a million and one other pertinent details I can't address. And there's also obviously a balance between not giving a shit about other people's opinions vs. acting in a way to maintain workplace harmony. But hopefully one or two things I've written in this long-ass post will be of some help to you moving forward in your work. There is still a lot of potential for positive change. It'll take time.

December 27, 2015 by Suzannah Weiss
I was young when I came to discover masturbation, and I had orgasms long before I knew what they were.
Nothing about it seemed complicated. I just rubbed “down there” for a few minutes, and it happened. But later, magazines, comedy routines, and sitcoms taught me that my body – and vaginas in general – were mysterious and complex, often too complex for those without them to figure out.
Confirming what I’d been taught, orgasms weren’t as simple with partners as they were by myself. This is to be expected to some extent. There’s a learning curve when you’re getting to know someone new. But what confused me was that not everyone seemed eager to learn.
“Sorry,” I (unnecessarily) apologized to a partner for taking what I thought was too long.
“It’s okay. I know it’s harder for girls,” he said – and then stopped.
Compounding the lack of effort I encountered from some (though not all) partners, it became harder for me to orgasm when I started SSRI antidepressants. When I told my doctor, she said, “Oh, that’s hard for a lot of women anyway.”
I knew my body long and well enough to know being a woman wasn’t to blame, but others didn’t share my view that the problem was fixable. I grew hesitant to bring it up with partners out of fear that asking them to perform the supposedly impossible feat of getting a woman off was too demanding.
Orgasm doesn’t have to be the focus of sex, but if a woman wants one, she should have as much of a right to request it as anyone else does.
When people say that women’s bodies are more difficult – and these generalizations typically refer to cis women and are accompanied by rants about how complicated vaginas are – they teach cis women that an orgasm is too tall an order.
Trans women also have a slew of sexual stigmas attached to them, which Kai Cheng Thom describes here, though they’re beyond the scope of this article. In addition, though most research on orgasm inequity has studied cis women, trans and non-binary people with vaginas may relate to the frustrations of being taught their genitals are impossible to decode, too.
The view that cis women are hard to please maintains what sociologists call the orgasm gap, in which men have three orgasms for every one a woman enjoys, and 57% of women orgasm during all or most of their sexual encounters, but 95% say their partners do.
These statistics may appear to confirm the stereotype that women’s bodies are more complicated, but there are other forces at work.
As sociologist Lisa Wade points out, the orgasm gap is conditional. Lesbians report orgasming 74.7% of the time, only 10 percentage points lower than gay men. In addition, women take under four minutes on average to masturbate to orgasm.
If these statistics don’t convince you that there’s more to the orgasm gap than biology, here are twelve cultural factors that contribute to it.
1. People Believe Women Are Less Sexual
Women, the story goes, aren’t that into sex.
They may enjoy it, but they do it partially in exchange for validation, commitment, or financial support, popular wisdom says. As long as a woman is getting one of those things, she doesn’t need much out of the sex itself.
To the contrary, a lot of research and lived experiences indicate that women are as capable of wanting and enjoying sex as men.
Until we acknowledge this, we won’t prioritize making sex as enjoyable as possible for women because we’ll believe sexual pleasure isn’t as important to them.
It may not be because women themselves may buy into myths about their gender, neglecting their desires because they’re not supposed to have them. If they do, they and their partners miss out on balanced sexual interactions, not to mention fun.
2. Pornography Privileges Male Pleasure
Most people who have watched porn videos know they typically culminate with a “money shot” in which the man comes, and then the scene ends. Most woman-focused orgasms depicted in porn are merely incidental events on the path to a man’s pleasure.
Additionally, most mainstream porn scenes feel incomplete without blow jobs, while cunnilingus is less common.
All in all, the message is clear: It’s imperative that a man gets off, and if a woman manages to in the process, props to him, but it’s just an added bonus.
3. The Myth of ‘Blue Balls’ Persists
Blue balls, according to Urban Dictionary, is “the excrutiating [sic] pain a man receives when his balls swell to the size of coconuts because of lack of sex, unfinished bjs, and just not cummin when he knows he should.”
The entitlement reflected in this description is characteristic of most uses of the term “blue balls.” While vasocongestion, the accumulation of blood flow to the genitals, can occasionally cause mild pain in people with any genitals, this is not what men are usually referring to when they complain about blue balls. And whether they’re experiencing this or just sexual frustration, it’s never anyone else’s duty to relieve it.
Even though most women know no medical condition results from an erection that doesn’t lead to an orgasm, many of us feel guilty for not providing one. So, in addition to some men’s lack of effort to pleasure women, the pressure many women feel to pleasure men maintains the orgasm gap.
4. There’s More Information in the Media About Pleasing Cis Men Than Women
As a teenager, my secret guilty pleasure was buying copies of Cosmo from the drugstore and hiding them under my pillow to read at night.
I read all their sex articles just because I found anything sex-related titillating, but along the way, I learned all about different tricks to please men – and cis men, specifically. By the time I encountered a real-life penis, I already knew all the basic tricks in the book, plus some out-there ones my dude friends urged me not to try.
I don’t know what most teenage boys’ secret reading material was, but there aren’t many mainstream men’s magazines as obsessed with pleasing women as women’s are with pleasing men. If anything, I’ve heard it’s common for boys to sneak glimpses of Playboy, which is also geared toward pleasing men.
Maybe this explains why 25% of men and 30% of women can’t locate the clitoris on a diagram.
Amid all the advice we read about different ways to hold and touch a penis, many remain in the dark about vulvas and vaginas.
5. Hookup Culture Privileges Male Pleasure
“I will do everything in my power to, like whoever I’m with, to get [him] off,” one woman said in a study by Elizabeth Armstrong on college hookups. But when it came to their own pleasure, women held different expectations.
“The guy kind of expects to get off, while the girl doesn’t expect anything,” a woman in another study by Lisa Wade said.
Accordingly, one man in Armstrong’s study boasted, “I’m all about making her orgasm,” but when asked to clarify the word “her,” he added, “Girlfriend her. In a hookup her, I don’t give a shit.” Perhaps he sensed that women don’t expect much from their hookups.
Statistics about women’s orgasms reflect these attitudes.
The ratio of men’s and women’s orgasms is 3.1:1 for first-time hookups, but only 1.25:1 for relationships.
For whatever reason, hookup culture appears to have embraced the message espoused by the media that women’s orgasms are optional, while men’s are obligatory.
6. Sex Education Doesn’t Teach Us About Pleasure, Especially Female Pleasure
Like many schools in the US, mine only had a couple of days a year dedicated to sex education in middle and high school. During the initial classes on puberty, the portion about women was on periods and the portion about men was on erections, ejaculation, and wet dreams.
Already, our bodies were associated with making babies, while boys’ were associated with sexual arousal and pleasure.
Later on, we learned how to use a condom – along with how to complete a very normative sequence of events. You put it on, we were told, and then you have intercourse, and then someone ejaculates, and then you pull out and take it off. Men’s orgasms, but not women’s, were built into our safer sex lesson.
Nobody said “then you stop whenever you feel like it” or “your partner may need you to pull out” (because, contrary to what we see in porn, not every woman is multi-orgasmic and many have a refractory period, so we can’t all comfortably keep going until our partner wants to stop).
This is one sneaky way we learn to prioritize men’s pleasure without ever really learning about pleasure at all.
7. Self-Evaluative Thoughts Can Disrupt Women’s Arousal Process
Due to the emphasis on women’s appearances in mainstream porn and throughout the media, women learn to picture themselves during sex.
“How does my stomach look from this angle,” “Does my face look sexy or silly in this expression,” and “Would it be sexier if I made more noise?” are a few thoughts that have distracted me in the bedroom.
And I don’t think I’m alone: 32% of women say that when they don’t orgasm, it’s often because they’re stuck in their heads or focused on their looks.
Orgasm itself can become a source of performance anxiety.
Because the women’s orgasms are dramatized in porn and the media, with exaggerated moans and calculated facial expressions, some women feel so much pressure that fear of not coming keeps them from coming. This pressure can also lead women to fake orgasms instead of sticking it out for a real one.
Once again, women’s magazines don’t help.
Cosmo even provides a guide on “how to look even hotter naked.” Though “even” implies the reader looks hot already, the pre-bedroom workout routine and self-tanner application tips make it clear we don’t look as hot as we could – and even if we do, the focus is still on our partner’s pleasure, not what we see or feel.
Thoughts about partners’ perceptions place women outside their bodies, looking in, rather than inside them, feeling the sensations the sexual activity is causing. It’s hard to have an orgasm when you’re not even thinking sexual thoughts.
8. Sexual Trauma Can Impede Arousal and Orgasm
It’s extremely common for women to experience sexual trauma within their lifetimes. One out of six women has been the victim of attempted or completed rape.
According to sex therapist Vanessa Marin, this trauma can have lasting effects on one’s sex life.
“Sexual assault can rob your enjoyment of sex and can make any type of intimacy feel scary,” she said. “Some survivors experience feelings of disconnect or dissociation when they’re having sex. Others can easily get triggered by being touched in certain places or in specific ways.”
Marin recommends that survivors seek out therapy or a support group so they don’t have to deal with the effects of their pasts alone.
In the short-term, Marin has written that reminding yourself you’re with your partner, not the person who assaulted you, can quell trauma-related sexual problems. “Of course your brain knows that it’s [them], but this exercise can help the more subconscious parts of your psyche start to relax,” she writes.
Other emotions women disproportionately experience around sex, such as guilt and shame, may also lead to anorgasmia.
9. More Women Than Men Are on Antidepressants
SSRI antidepressants, like Prozac and Zoloft, can cause anorgasmia. This side effect isn’t gender-specific, but antidepressants themselves are.
Between 2001 and 2010, 25% of American women (but only 15% of men) had been prescribed medication for mental health conditions.
This may occur because women are more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression, both frequently treated with SSRIs, the medication class most commonly known to cause anorgasmia. There are many theories as to why, but one possible source of this difference is societal misogyny.
As Ally Boghun writes of her anxiety, “A lot of the stressors that impact me the most are actually stressors put upon women by society to look and act in certain ways.” In addition, women are more likely to seek therapy, since toxic standards of masculinity deter men from discussing their emotions.
This is one case where the orgasm gap may be related to biological differences, but the sources of these differences are still societal.
10. Women Are Discouraged from Asking for What They Want
Women are taught to accommodate others’ wishes and put their own on the back burner, to be pleasant and polite and grateful and not ask for more, whether that’s food, payment, or sexual pleasure.
To bring back Armstrong’s research, one woman said she didn’t have the “right” to request an orgasm and “felt kind of guilty almost, like I felt like I was kind of subjecting [guys] to something they didn’t want to do and I felt bad about it.”
I can relate: I’ve said “sorry” many times for requesting or giving myself the stimulation I wanted, for taking what I thought was too much time, and for receiving pleasure without immediately returning it.
The same fear that keeps women from voicing their opinions in work meetings or negotiating salaries also keeps us from speaking up in bed.
But until we can “lean in” without bumping into hostility, women can’t singlehandedly solve this problem in any domain. It’s also up to our partners, coworkers, and others to make it clear they want to hear and accommodate our wishes.
11. The Normative Definition of Sex Isn’t Optimal for Many Women’s Orgasms
When someone says “sex,” most people think of penis-in-vagina intercourse, even though it means many different things to different people.
For example, some couples may see oral sex as sex. Some may also put oral or manual sex on the same level as penetrative sex, but this is still not the norm.
When someone talks about losing their virginity, for instance, we usually assume they’re talking about the first time they had penis-in-vagina intercourse.
This assumption can be problematic for women who get off more easily through other activities.
In one survey, 20% of women said they seldom or never had orgasms during intercourse. Only 25% said they consistently do. In another, 38% said that when they don’t orgasm, a common obstacle is “not enough clitoral stimulation.”
Since penetrative sex often doesn’t directly stimulate the clitoris, this could explain why other types of sex – or clitoral stimulation during intercourse, which women considered the most common way they got off with a partner – may be more optimal.
When we consider the activities that often help women reach orgasm as warmup or extra, we deprioritize women’s pleasure.
12. People Think the Orgasm Gap Is Biological
Orgasm inequity is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
When men believe women’s bodies are an impossible puzzle, they don’t try to solve it. Neither do women who are taught their own pleasure is inaccessible.
That’s why it’s important we acknowledge all the societal factors that contribute to this discrepancy. Genetics can’t be fixed, but a lot of these problems can, which means that closing the orgasm gap is possible.
***
If you’re a woman having trouble orgasming, it’s likely not you. It may not be the result of any carelessness on your partner’s part either. You may just need to talk about it, challenge the myths you’ve learned about sexuality, and, if necessary, seek help for any psychological or medical conditions that could be contributing to the problem.
Or maybe it’s not a problem at all. Maybe orgasming isn’t important to you, and that’s your choice as well. But if it is something you would like, you have the same right to ask for it as your partner. If he expects orgasms from you, he shouldn’t mind you wanting one.
It’s not too much to ask, and your anatomy isn’t too complicated. The only thing that’s complicated is the toxic set of messages we’re taught about sexuality. But that’s not on you or your body.

14 Facts about the Harpy Tribe
Just felt like sharing some facts about the Harpy Tribe. Been wanting to post about this for a while. But I didn’t have the interest. Plus, my original list was kind of clunky. So I had to reboot it. Anyway, here they are.
1. Long ago, the harpy tribe use to be split into two mini tribes located in the mountain areas of Mewni. The northern tribe (Avea & her friend's home.) was located at Jaggy Mountains, while the southern tribe was located at the Musty Mountain Caves
2.The offspring have a higher chance of being female than they do male. Which is why there are so few male harpies in the tribe.
3. Like the Fire Nymph tribe, Combat and Physical Strength play a big part in the Harpy Tribe's culture. But not to the degree where other factors like intelligence or creativity are discouraged, as they believe that a true warrior needs both brains AND brawn and that neither is mutually exclusive.
4. The Harpy's ancestral lineage can be traced all the way back to the now extinct Valravns. A race of bird-like monsters that lived during the ancient times of Mewni. They are believed to also descent from a humanoid species called the Vilas.
5. Due to their rarity, Male Harpies ARE allowed to have their own harems. But they are only allowed to have up to 5 and it must be something both he & his wife (Or Wives if he already has more than one.) must mutually consent to and respect each other's boundaries. (Basically, they are more as Polyamorous relationships.).
6. Female harpies who DON'T want to be apart of a harem usually go to other nearby harpy tribes to look for male partners or mate with another female harpy and raise one of the abandoned eggs from the farm (For harpies, the farm is their equivalent of an orphanage where eggs that have been abandoned or left behind by their parents are taken.) as their own.
7. Harpies have their own sub-species located in different areas of Mewni. The Sirens of the Waterfolk kingdom,The Furies of the Underworld , & the Grphyons of the Cloud Kingdom.
8.Harpies are one of the  few monster species in Mewni who have a higher female population & gender ratio than male.
9. Prior to The Farm's creation abandoned eggs were either destroyed or sold to merchants for gold. The practice was soon put to an end once the Northwind Family came into power.
10.When referring to their own kind, harpies will say "everyharpy" Similar to how the ponies in MLP:FIM refer to each other as "everypony"  when referring to each other.
11. Being one of the monsters species that come from eggs, harpies have two birthdays instead of just one is called typically a birthday (The day the egg was "born") and one that is called a "hatchday" (The day when the harpy egg actually hatches.).
12.  Pigeons were Harpies biggest prey for many generations.
13. Harpies are known to be one of the most "fertile" monsters in Mewni. So the Farm rarely/almost never runs out of eggs.
14.The harpies also have various mini harpy villages that are scattered all around Mewni.
So that’s all for now!
