rui facts that are common knowledge atp but i just feel like repeating

hates vegetables because of their texture, and dislikes anything that has similar texture to certain vegetables. example: he hates watermelon because apparently to him the texture is just like a cucumber's? he's not very fond of many fruits either, albeit he dislikes them less than vegetables

only eats at places he's a regular at and becomes distressed when the menu changes. he picks off all vegetables from his food and sometimes emu helps him and eats anything he doesn't like

preferred rivers and lakes over pools as a kid. he would search for shiny rocks and the like in these rivers and lakes and show nene his discoveries

he owned many encyclopedias as a kid. one of them being one about poisonous plants. it had a bright red cover that scared nene LMAO but he read it over and over so now he can recognize which plants are poisonous or not

his favourite show he performed with wxs was the little mermaid. the show that made him feel the most nervous was a pianist named torpe, and the show that left the strongest impression on him was the one tsukasa performed with the others to convince him to join wxs again

dislikes cleaning because he finds it pointless when his room just becomes cluttered again sooner or later

worst sleep schedule known to man. has been scolded by wxs for coming to rehearsal with horrible eye bags

he people watches a lot. very observant of his environment and uses anything that catches his attention as inspiration for shows and other stories. this can be seen in island panic, where he makes up an entire possible conversation between three monkeys he was observing and in the area convo where he views students fighting to buy bread at the tuck shop as a metaphor for human nature and survival

his role model and inspiration is a director named tom gray! he watched interviews of him and read his books over and over

eats his taiyaki by first splitting it in half to avoid burning his mouth with the hot bean paste. interestingly enough, it is said in japan that the first bite you take in taiyaki determines your personality. rui breaks his taiyaki first before eating, making him a "person of action."

there's a specific stool in his room that has remained since his childhood. also an orange box of toys(?) It seems

on the other hand, several aspects of his childhood room have changed: his lampshades are in the shapes of flowers now, his couch is patched up in blue, and he has multiple streamers and balloons. the balloons have little faces on them btw. he also installed a clock. the step ladder near his bookshelf is gone too from what i can see

I feel like I talk about Ebony and Brenda a lot, so let's spice it up with my Breton mage Ursalie.~

Ursalie is very, very shy. She hates being the center of attention and all this "Hero of the Covenant" business makes her want to curl into a ball and let Oblivion take her.

Despite her shyness, if she's pushed hard enough she can, in fact, stick up for herself. Which will then result in her disappearing from the public for the next 3 to 5 business days.

Her favorite colors are black and yellow/gold; her mage robes are jet black with yellow accents. Kind of the Tamrielic equivalent of goth.

She has a heroic reputation from helping the Daggerfall Covenant, but it turns out Ursalie is very easy to persuade. All Jakarn has to do is give her a little smirk and Darien a wink and the poor mage will be second guessing every conversation from the last five years.

FUN FACTS ABOUT JESTER HAT!!☆

1. Jester Hat's full name is "Jester Hat Baker".

2. He used to rob banks, but eventually stopped to be a stay-at-home dad with kids. However, he might lie about that since it wasn't confirmed if he does have kids yet.

3. In episode 11 "Vase Showcase", it turned out he purposely threw the challenge so he can get eliminated and reunite with Corky.

4. Apparently, Jester Hat has had 7 wives, which all of them divorced him. (I was kinda shocked about this fact, tbh😭)

5. Jester Hat's favorite band is Lemon Demon, and his favorite song from them is "Touch-Tone Telephone".

6. Jester hat is the only contestant to teleport.

8. His design sort of resembles the Beam ability Hat from the video game, Kirby.

7. As confirmed by Cole on a QNA on his Twitter account, Jester Hat and Corky and most likely robbing banks and running from the authorities together. (Totally normal friendship👍)

9. In episode 6 "Truth or Lies", he claimed that he used to get pranked a lot as a child, so he decided to be a prankster himself.

Hi! Thank you for the ask, lovely! I have lots of favorites, but since I did Coraleye last time—I think I'll switch it up a bit; and go with Norvis Spector! (Without giving away too many spoilers!)

Norvis Specter

—aka Nervous Subject, aka Nyon Specter, etc etc.

This sim has been near and dear to my heart since I was child, discovering his mysterious and horrific story while spending countless hours exploring Strangetown and finding new ways to save him from the merciless torture of the dreadful Beakers. Like plenty other simmers I'm sure, we essentially grew up together ♥

The name change- Norvis's name was decided before Life & Death was released and "Nyon" was ever a thing. I always knew when I approached his story, that I'd have to give him a "real" name, clearly Olive wouldn't call her son "Nervous Subject" and that was a moniker given to him by the Beakers. I wanted something that sounded similar to Nervous, and also allowed him to keep his initials "NS", as well as something that sounds like a loving mother might bestow onto her beloved child. I had an entire list of names that I bounced around before finally landing on Norvis. I like having my own name for him, too. It feels more like I have the opportunity to make this character more my own unique OC than just him being a premade.🖤 His appearance, however, is a mixture between my middle-aged version of him and EA's Life and Death's Nyon.

Norvis hasn't really had much of a canon presence in My Darling so far yet. Other than a brief appearance here, a mention here, and if you look carefully, he can be seen in some picture frames here. He's made a few appearances in some renders I've done, but the canon-ness? of those I've left a bit ambiguous. HOWEVER that's going to change really soon and I'm SO excited because he's getting a pretty major role in season 11 🤗

Norvis was born and raised in Strangetown, NOT Ravenwood. Don't care what EA says lol in my timeline that's the only canon!

Norvis gets a trusty pet crow (pictured above) to help him with work. His name is Devin. He's such a dick :)

Since childhood, Norvis's favorite toy/activity/art tool/treat of choice- glue. He loves glue.

When her mother was pregnant with her various shamans would foresee that she'd either be a blessing for the world or a curse

The moment she was born many felt an omnious aura coming from her

She destroyed and killed the place of the so called "home" in order to awaken her oldest brother's magic

Her og body is maintained on the pits of Tartarus, as being the first recorded case of overblot.

She's considered the Mother Sorcerer cause despite the numerous atrocities she has committed her discoveries in the domain of magic where the base of today's knowledge in magic

Also based on her studies she has foreseen that the population of people that possess magic will increase over the time

Despite that the records of her studies were never accredited to her and her existence is mostly treated as a myth.

She's also the reason why the age of Gods ended

Since she was "killed" her soul possessed different people from different backgrounds, whether as children, adults or old people. Taking control over them and assimilating their souls. There weren't any physical or emotional changes in the people possessed, as she played their personalities perfectly.

Some of the considered heroes or villains in the TWST history are actually her doing, as she often played roles of both good and evil.

The existence of Cat is her biggest achievement and current curiosity.

Originally she doesn't feel emotion, everything she's doing is an act, her true self being more of a "blank canvas" or a "soulless being".

Watching Cat's life is "entertaining".

So, a while ago @world-of-iridensia made me an ask in my reblog of this post here so here goes my response! Sorry for the delay, end of last year and beginning of this one was a bit hectic but I survived lmao

Let's go with some characters from Crash Stardom! and Arrows of Nightfall for this one (:

Crash Stardom!

Arden Ellis found out about the word "defenestrate" from a meme and it is now their officially favorite word. Also, unrelated to that, Arden's first language is Italian! Which is why they'll sometimes sprinkle few Italian idioms into their daily conversations.

Despite Eidan Decroix being a cold-hearted Reaper working for Dominic Fletcher himself in the start of the story, his favorite music genre is gliterry dance pop. He likes to keep up a reputation of hardcore or unfeeling, but anytime he has his headphones on you can bet he is listening to the most innocent songs ever lmao. The dichotomy of evil ✨

Fabian Styrling has a thin scar that crosses the bridge of his nose and both of his cheekbones, from a bullet that ricocheted towards him one time he tried to help Arden out of an ambush by the mob. The wound itself was rather surface-level but the placement was what was most terrifying for Fabian, because he knew that - if he had moved a few inches in the wrong direction when the bullet flew - he could've been killed.

In this world, Abyssians (seafolk) can grow to incredible sizes depending on the animal species they hail from. For example, Osian was 8 meters long (because the species he hailed from was a manta ray, which can from between 4-9 meters), and Randall can be 7 meters long in his True Form (because his species hails from the orca whales and those can grow between 5.5 - 9 meters). However, Abyssians who hail from smaller oceanic species, like clownfish, octopuses and moray eels, can be human sized in their True Form or even smaller than a human. Mammalian-based Abyssians (like Randall) can easily transform in and out of a temporary human disguise. Fish-Based/Non-Mammalian Abyssians cannot.

Chion Strihhda often displays bird-like behavior, fluffing their feathers, constantly humming their favorite songs and climbing onto high and unusual places. They also like their bed to feel like a nest, often collecting pillows, blankets and other soft things.

Juniper Mei loves fire/non-harmful arson and often collects matches, firecrackers and occasionally fireworks. Sometimes, she busies herself by creating unique kinds of non-lethal explosives to help the rebels craft distractions and traps.

Arrows Of Nightfall

Helio has heterochromia, with one of his eyes being deep green and the other light brown. Because of that, and a few other reasons, Green tends to be his favorite color!

Gwyna and Kaelan were friends during their childhood. As the daughter of the Regent Lord, she had met the Baelbrok family once or twice when Kaelan's mother, a general from the outskirts, attended royal meetings. However after Fort Baelbrok fell to the Therassi Empire and Kaelan was kidnapped along with his younger brother Herin, she didn't hear from him since, that is, until they meet again during the events of the main story.

Meris grew up in the captured provinces of the Plains of Sottar, and after being betrayed by a friend he trusted, he was sold to the Therassi empire as a slave. He was tasked with becoming a valet/squire to the realm's executioner soldiers/assassins, something he did out of the the need to 'just survive'. However, the soldier's Trainer developed a disturbing obsession with secretly trying to shape Meris into an 'upgraded soldier' something that Meris openly resented and refused to comply to, earning him a world of pain and stoking his hatred for his 'master' and for the Empire.

Rowen was born and raised in the heart of the Therassi Empire, but was not one bit protected by it. While the kingdom focused itself in expansion, the lowest castes of its society were falling apart from the inside out. Rowen survived a famine/plague that ravaged his village and became a thief prowling the outskirts of the kingdom in the forests, with a few other street urchins who became his found family.

Daily (like other game characters) turns out to be created from spoffit flesh and oil.

In the first part, Daily hunts Harris in order to eventually kill him and take the game disc, which Harris accidentally spawned them, so that Harris would not destroy this disc out of suspicion. After the revival, Daily was going to destroy the positive game characters and turn them into monsters who could kill Harris.

Oil creatures made of flesh are immortal and can survive even on a planet with T0 or survive in space. However, their disadvantage is that they live thanks to the game disc. By destroying this disk, they will melt and turn into a bloody puddle.

The idea was taken from the FNAF fan game "The Graveyard Shift at Freddy`s".

Doise's eyes are like chameleons, they are able to focus on two thing at once. This helps them find things

General information about Alastor you should know ! Just a few things that I want to talk about, as I've seen so much discourse around aspects of his character. I will try to make this less of an opinion-based post and more of facts/canon. Divider credits to astralnymphh !

To begin, I've seen so much fuss over his cultural identity. Alastor has been stated by Vizz to be mixed-race Creole. He is a black man. When having this conversation, some people make the mistake of correcting others who refer to him as black over mixed-race while the truth is both are correct and interchangeable when referring to him. Saying he is black is not wrong and is a way of affirming his racial identity. Mixed. Black. Creole. He's all three.

Moving on, Alastor is not a Wendigo. He is not a Wendigo. He shares similar themes to one but is not one himself.

A lot of folks can get confused because they are unaware of the folklore surrounding Wendigos so I will give a quick summary; The "Wendigo" is a mythical creature that has been part of Native American folklore for centuries. It is often seen as a powerful symbol of greed, hunger, and cannibalism and has been the subject of many cultural and artistic portrayals. It is believed by some indigenous peoples that the Wendigo spirit can possess those who have sinned or committed taboo acts, resulting in a transformation into the creature.

So the question is why is Alastor not a Wendigo? Well...

It is unclear to me whether or not Alastor practices Voodoo or Hoodoo. I've seen Voodoo be the overall answer however that could be wrong. Regardless, the Wendigo is a part of Indigenous folklore, while Voodoo is a syncretic religious tradition that originated in Africa and developed in places such as Haiti and Louisiana. These two practices are distinct and have their own cultural and historical contexts, and it is important to respect and understand these differences. Saying that to say, his practices are not entwined with the folklore of Wendigos. He is a deer. A gross smelly cannibalistic deer.

Lastly, I wanted to touch on what could possibly be the most controversial element of his character. His sexual orientation. Canonically stating Alastor is in fact asexual. If you aren't familiar with the term, generally, asexuality refers to a lack of sexual attraction or desire. Something that people tend to miss is that asexuality is a broad spectrum that is not defined by one set of rules. Do not attack other fans for how they envision him on this spectrum. Whatever someone derives from canon, as long as it's respectful, is not an issue. You choose to see him as sex-replused? Awesome! Someone else chooses to see him as non-sex repulsed? Also okay! There's no one correct answer.

Coraleye Darling

I recently switched out Coraleye's "romantic" trait for the "lovebug" trait that came with Lovestruck, mainly to see what the difference is. I don't really think there is one, but it sounds fitting for her lol

Venturing on spoiler territory- but Coraleye will be dipping her toes into a new romantically liberal phase of her life, and she'll probably be burning some bridges along the way 👀 so lock away your married and taken men, or maybe consider sending them to my game if you like the chaos 😂

Despite Coraleye's recent devastating breakup, she's still very much a family-oriented sim, and still holds onto the idea of one day finding her person and starting a family. She even she keeps a diary in her childhood bedroom with a thoughtful list of all her favorite sentimental baby names, something she holds incredibly close to her heart.

Bonus fact! Coraleye’s full name is Coraleye Tempest Rose Darling. She was born on a wild, stormy spring night, and Yellow and Donna thought the name Tempest—meaning violent storm— balanced the sweetness of the rest of her name while commemorating the chaotic night of her birth. It also goes hand in hand with her dual-colored eyes, one a stormy grey and the other a rosy coral.
