Here’s a thing I don’t understand about Moshang vs Bingqiu:

Why did Moshang leave a bigger impression than Bingqiu? I’ll admit it, I didn’t have any strong feelings towards Bingqiu when I finished svsss the first time. But Moshang left a bigger impression and I was HOOKED on shipping them.

Eventually, Bingqiu warmed up to me the longer I was in the fandom and thegamingmuse’s analysis definitely helped me understand their relationship better.

It’s funny people are saying that svsss is the silliest and simplest (in terms of plots and characters, etc) to read out of MXTX’s novels, but I have to say that her writing pretty dense. (I mean like in terms how “A Series of Unfortunate Events” is a dense read, lovingly.)

I thought my ability to read such a dense text was decent at the very least, but boy was I humbled when I read svsss because I was struggling to comprehend some of MXTX’s writing. I don’t blame others when they completely miss something that the fandom points out and say that people can’t read but honestly I can barely remember half the content of what’s in the series because there’s so damn much.

I don’t know if this is a hot take or not re: the watcher announcement but I do wish people would have the same patience that was afforded to dropout when they went independent. The model is exactly the same and it allowed the artists that work there to flourish in a way that’s impossible to do in a different platform. YouTube revenue sharing is atrocious and this will allow them to make even more amazing stuff that they love. The growing pains will be tough but I really do think it’s best to not be so hard on them

Violet Evergarden Rant [Spoilers!!]

While I don’t like how the Major was in love with Violet,

I did like Violet being in love with the Major

Her love (or the pursuit of finding out what love is) is what drove her to meet all these wonderful people. It’s what drove her to want to become a Memory Doll, in a way. Maybe she could’ve found her way into the job without being in love with the Major, but it was a defining reason she gave to people when they asked why she was working as one.

That being said, I hated the [last] movie ending. Why the hell did they give her the wife ending?

I firmly believe that the Major should’ve remained dead. He remains dead and Violet finds her place amongst the Dolls, realizing that love isn’t limited to romance. It should’ve ended with a montage of her visiting everyone she’s met before and showing the love they have for each other.

And if they needed the Major alive, then they should have never let him and Violet develop romantically. It should’ve shown him talking to Hodgins about how his rehabilitation on the island made him realize how badly he messed up Violet’s life. How his eyes opened and he sees her now as a child who could’ve had a good life if he wanted, rather than a strong girl who loved him too. They could’ve shown him wallowing in his guilt over bringing an innocent child into the war instead of forcing her to grow under the care of his family. It should’ve shown him rejecting Violet from a man to a teenager instead of from the eyes of The Loved and the Lover. Then the two could’ve parted ways with Violet learning love under a new light while he recovers on the island. I’d even forgive it if it ended with Violet approaching Gilbert as family and the two healing from the war instead of just ending as lovers.

Pisses me off still to this day.
