Jude’ Past Records Highlights Chapters 1-3

These are highlights, and may not be 100% accurate as I’ve not researched these lines. New BG artwork is included.

Jude’s father was an Irish immigrant dock worker.

His mother was a British beauty from a well to do, or noble family. She married his dad and everything went to hell. She is sickly.

Jude has an older brother and younger sister. No names specified yet. (Please take the older brother part with a grain of salt).

Jude’s father wastes their very limited income on cigarettes and money. The children are sickly because of it.

Jude gets beat by his father for telling him to quit smoking so they can get better.

Jude’s mother sells all her clothes and jewelry to give cash to the father in order to keep Jude safe.

His mother teaches him to write his name in the dirt with a stick, and tells him he can survive if he has wisdom. She squeezes him tightly.

Jude and his mother have a good relationship.

He’s a cheeky little kid.

His mother died shortly after with Jude by her side. Her husband and older son are out drinking. She leaves his sister in his care and apologizes profusely. Jude says she has nothing to apologize for.

The children are forced to the attic sans big brother and they’re starved. Jude tries to sneak scraps from the dead beat’s left overs, but usually there’s nothing to eat at all.

His sister says that he’s sick too, but he say he’s fine, and she laughs that he’s always acting tough.

Jude resorts to his first crime, stealing an expensive-looking pocket watch from a corrupted wealthy guy. It’s a fake though. The pawn shop keeper says that there’s nothing but inferior products on the market lately.

Jude runs away as he’s accused of stealing it.

Later, Jude takes his sister to the docks so they can get a check up by a doctor named Oswald who does charity checkups.

He tells Jude to be cured, it would take continuous medication. Out of desperation, Jude imitates his father and older brother by picking up a bottle, busting it and threatening Oswald, stating he’d pay him back double for the medication later.

The doc talks sense to Jude and Jude admits he’s right to himself. He tells Jude to read this medical book and to have it memorized the next time they meet.

Jude takes the book out of frustration because he feels looked down on, as he’d basically only have a week to read the book before he sees the doctor again. He’s grateful to his mama for teaching him to read and write, and he studies night and day for a week. Not eating and barely sleeping.

The following week he recites the text book to the doctor who is amazed. He agrees to treat Jude and his sister, and steadily over time they start healing. Jude notes that the doctor treats them just like any other human and while that makes him frustrated, it also makes him feel happy to be an equal.

Jude opens up to Oswald that people want him to die, but he doesn’t want to die and isn’t going to. Oswald tells Jude that if people want him to die, then the best way to get revenge is to live. And so, Oswald also teaches Jude many things.

However, this relatively peaceful time doesn’t last…..

Ok, so, take this with a grain of salt, but apparently, the nickname Swabby between sailors is usually a pretty friendly one (despite coming from the "swab the deck" job sailors have) like the sailors who usually work on deck call each other swabbies

Anyway, I can see Wind calling Warriors a Swabby, and telling him it is absolutely a terrible nickname cause he's basically calling him someone who swabs the deck, a low tier sailor like: "yeah absolutely humiliating, just like that guppy nickname you gave me!"

But then they get to Wind's time and join up with Tetra's crew and they're all affectionately calling each other swabby and that's when the chain finds out that it's not a degrading nickname at all, it just means Wind sees Wars as part of his crew/family lmao

I get that some of you are nervous of Eddie leaving and Buddie not happening but trust me when I tell you Ryan isn’t going anywhere. There are zero signs that he wants to leave the show.

All of the main cast seem very happy and like a family and like they want to be working together for as long as possible. They’re also working in roles that you can’t do in just any other acting job, doing these crazy emergencies regularly. You don’t just leave a work environment like that for no reason. It’s also not like Ryan can’t do other projects while working on 911, he just worked on a movie not too long ago. So no he’s not leaving.

When it comes to Buddie I think some of you have gotten so used to storylines that play out instantly on streaming you’re not used to a network slow burn where you have to wait.

I get being scared of being let down by the show. I know how much we’re all hoping and waiting for Buddie to happen. But Buddie has been in the works for years. It was originally supposed to happen in s5 (Buck was supposed to come out in s4) but Fox refused to let it happen. So Tim left and then the show moved to abc and so Tim came back. When he did he started putting the wheels in motion for Buddie canon and that started with Buck coming out in s7. Buddie going canon has already started we’ve been in the storyline since last season when Buck’s coming out was heavily connected to Eddie.

If I didn’t think Buddie was going to happen or that it was a big maybe I’d say so but in all the years of watching the show I’ve never been as certain it’s happening as I am now.

The other thing is I think there would be zero doubt right now if Buddie was a straight ship. But because they’re two guys and they’re breaking new ground with being the first real slow burn queer ship on a primetime network show people will question if it’s happening the whole way.

Tim knows how a significant portion of the audience for the show loves Buddie. Tim, Oliver, and Ryan have all shown support for Buddie over the years which btw isn’t common for non canon queer ships. A lot of things are in our favor. If Tim didn’t want to make Buddie happen he would have made that clear when he came back and it’s been the total opposite. In s7 they were together more than ever and they’ve still been joined at the hip in s8 even if hey haven’t had a ton of scenes while Tim was closing up other storylines. We can see with 808 and recent interviews that the bulk of Eddie and Buddie’s s8 storylines are going to be in 8b.

I’ve seen people say why doesn’t Eddie just go get Chris and bring him home. I believe he will eventually but this storyline with Eddie contemplating moving to Texas isn’t as much about the Chris storyline as it is about the Buddie storyline. You have to have obstacles in a will they/won’t they that makes the audience think they aren’t going to end up together. There is always lots of angst leading up to the moment when they finally get together or get back together. This makes for a more emotional dramatic moment and some of the best tv.

We’re meant to think Eddie is leaving but even if he goes to Texas for a minute it won’t be permanent. I’m confident in saying we’ll have Buddie canon by the end of the season and Chris back too.

Please don’t let fandom’s tendency to catastrophize make you worry about where the story is going. Also take all the interviews with a grain of salt because they can’t and won’t tell us exactly where things are going. Like with the most recent Tim interviews and him making it sound like Eddie is moving. That makes sense because we’re right at the beginning of that storyline he can’t say what will happen.

Things with Buddie will take a little time to play out but we’ll get there. We are going into this hiatus in the best possible place we can be in right now and we should all be incredibly excited for what’s to come for Buddie in 8b.

"A little over 2 weeks after the bullshit 2.0 tweets, Louis went and got the dagger tattoo.

Its significance cannot be overstated.

After the ARIA Awards, Louis (and Zayn) went to Bondi Ink in Sydney where Louis got 2 new tattoos.

The dagger is in the exact same place as Harry’s rose on the opposite arm. It is also from this website [link no longer active] and is something we have been talking about happening for over a year. [We had hoped for it happening and then Lou went and DID IT. 🥹 It was an indescribable feeling of relief, joy and strength.]

My (Paz') own thoughts: I'm repeating myself, but I do find it deeply significant that as soon as the hiatus (aka: a potential way into freedom) started, Harry and Louis slowed down to an almost glacier pace when it comes to getting tattoos - compared to the time during the band. Harry got almost 80% of all his 67 tattoos within 3,5 years in the band. Louis even got over 90% of all his 43 tattoos within 3 years in the band. And then he got zero tattoos for 3 years into the hiatus.*

Harry got 53 tattoos between early 2012 and end of 2015. He got 14 tattoos within the next 9 years, until today Nov 2024.*

Louis got 39 tattoos between late 2012 and end of 2015. He got 4 tattoos within the next 9 years, until today Nov 2014.* (*that we know of)

It clearly shows what a beautiful and powerful way to express themselves to the world it was for them; as individuals, but also deeply bonded and visually belonging together. a quiet, visual rebellion; their skin constantly speaking the words they couldn't say.

It's noteworthy that Louis has not covered up any tattoo of his. For Harry, it's important not just to note that he covered up 5 of his tattoos, but also which ones and from what year. (standpoint Nov 2024) All 5 of the tattoos Harry had covered up were from 2012 - a time where the iron closet started to have a tight grip on Louis and him. All 5 tattoos were written phrases that could possibly be connected to his sexuality or relationship - a summary: 1) the "LOVE banner" -- covered with 2 swallows that resemble Lou & him 2) "I can't change..." -- covered with an anchor, matching Louis' pre-existing rope 3) "Might as well..." -- covered with laurels; laurels often symbolize victory 4) "Things I can't" -- covered by a Holy Bible (I Can't: Holy Bible?) 5) "Things I can" -- covered by an Eagle (I Can: Freedom?)] Since the start of the band's hiatus, Harry has not covered up a single tattoo in almost 10 years. Harry and Louis have at least 5 beautifully obvious matching tattoos: Oops + Hi Rope + Anchor Ship + Compass Anatomical Heart + Arrow Rose + Dagger

This is organized by date. All tattoos are linked to photos, unless they are major tattoos I want to talk about, in which case I have inserted the photos into the post. (Special thanks to thelegohouselove and their wonderful tattoo masterposts with pictures)

Dates are dates I believe they actually got the tattoos. If I can’t find a date they got the tattoo, I have indicated it with a “*” which is the first date we saw the tattoo. 

Before we begin, fun facts that might blow your mind:

Harry has 56 tattoos that we know of.

Louis 38 tattoos that we know of. 

Harry got 30 of his 56 tattoos between June and October 2012. That’s, on average, about 8/month.

Louis got 10 of his 37 between October and December 2012. That’s, on average, about 5/month.

The most Harry ever got on one day is 4. He got 13 in a 7 day period in October 2012. The most Louis ever got on one day was 5 on February 25 of 2013.

Over all, this should give you a good idea of just how much the tattoos seem to be an outlet during highly-closeted and stressful times (Harry’s June-October spree that gave way to the birds, ship & compass and butterfly and Louis’ October-December Haylor spree), not only in date alone, but also in the subject of the tattoo.

Three Books of Occult Philosophy or Magic, Henry Agrippa, 16th century. Contains basically the roots of our modern correspondence tables, and discussions of spirits, several pre-Tarot divination methods, and old lucky charms. DO NOT COOK HIS RECIPES THEY WILL POISON YOU. Please forgive my son he is from the sixteenth century and does not understand what a noxious gas is.

Liber Null & Psychonaut, Peter J. Carroll, 1987. Breaks down the psychological effects of magic and makes a variety of excellent points about the reasons that magic works the way it does. Very much an eye towards DIY get-punked astral magic stuff, with no end of entertaining Golden Dawn hijinks.

Advanced Magic for Beginners, Alan Chapman, 2008. Discusses much to do with secular magic, provides over thirty exercises to figure out what kind of magic works best for you. Some very dirty jokes. He sounds pretentious at first, but the sarcasm is mostly aimed at gatekeepers, consumer culture, and 'secret society' types.

Any number of old grimoires and banned tomes of magic exist here: https://www.esotericarchives.com/ With side-by-side Latin and French translations from the site archivist, for some of the older texts!

And if you can get them, any ANNOTATED books of old mythology- we're talking Greek, Norse, Celtic, the works- and FOLK TALES from all cultures. FOLK TALES ARE WHERE IT'S AT.

Go forth, armed with knowledge! Take everything with multiple grains of salt, use what is useful. The magic police won't get you, I promise, it's okay! Don't let endless floods of mass-market paperback madness tell you what to do.

A small detail in episode 5…

I keep thinking about the way ep5 revealed that a star plasma vessel replacement was found. No build-up, no explanation, just an off-hand, casual comment from Yuki who’s about to leave on her motorcycle.

I think it just shows how Geto and Gojo’s traumatic experiences amounted to nothing in the end. Everything they went through to fulfil that mission only to find out that the tragic loss wasn’t necessary at all? They barely escaped with their lives: One of them ended up with severe ptsd and depression, the other became obsessed with getting stronger so that he can’t fail like that ever again— and yet no one even cared enough to tell them that it would be alright, to at least inform them that their fuck up would not spell the end of the world. They were left to flounder in the darkness of their mistakes with no means to navigate it.

And to think that all this could’ve been avoided if they had been briefed from the get-go that there were multiple candidates for the new vessel. These teens took this mission with the false knowledge that the world was on their shoulders, only to be cast aside and labelled insignificant because of their failures— their mental and emotional well-being completely neglected bc the higher-ups simply saw them as dispensable tools.

Tldr: these teens were thrust into a world where no one bothered to help them develop a healthy emotional response to the tragedy that goes hand in hand with being a sorcerer. And I want to kick the shins of the damn people that made the system

Anyway my reaction to when this entire dialogue was over was just. Hihi.

i was unfortunately correct and i don't really know how to feel about it.

jayce, viktor, ambessa, jinx, isha.

arcane season 2 introduction analysis incoming:

does anyone else find it really cool, but also very nerve-wracking, that the season 2 arcane introduction is referencing a bunch of well known tragic plays/musicals? we all know riot/fortiche isn’t one to put unnecessary details in, every single thing is either symbolic, a parallel or foreshadowing - especially in the introductions. so, could these chosen plays/performances foreshadow how the rest of the story could go?

i know that the caitlyn/macbeth poster parallels have been circulating a lot recently, and i think it provides a really good idea into how caitlyn’s arc might go. 

the events of act one positioned caitlyn in a perfect place to follow the storyline of macbeth. her current state (losing her mother, the trauma from jinx, etc) has made her predisposed to violence, much like macbeth. we can clearly see that in the caitvi betrayal scene, when she hits vi in the gut with a rifle, as well as in the fight before that, where she has no qualms with potentially killing innocents for the ‘greater good’. she was also thrust into a position of high power where she will be easily manipulated by ambessa. 

similar to this, macbeth is a story of a man thrust into a high position of power and unable to keep the blood off his hands, and he and his wife eventually go mad because of it. I think ambessa fits the role of lady macbeth here, and she has the potential to goad caitlyn (macbeth) into violent acts and atrocities while keeping the blood and blame off her hands. through caitlyn, ambessa now has significant influence and power over piltover and the fight with zaun. how will caitlyn, who is barely more than a pawn now, cope with this? macbeth slowly went insane in his attempt to maintain power - i fear for how caitlyn will fare. 

macbeth is a tragedy, by the way. 

i haven’t properly analysed the rest, but i think it’s interesting to know that the shot of jinx holding the flag is a reference to les mis (also a tragedy, as SPOILER ALERT all the characters die in their fight for freedom and fairness). the line is literally 'oh the misery'. if jinx rallies zaun to fight against piltover, is she leading them into a massacre?  

les mis is a tragedy. 

the shots of mel and ambessa lounging on the couch is a reference to julius caesar. it is a play of betrayal and caesar is betrayed by one of their companions. et tu, brute? brutus joins a conspiracy to assassinate caesar and prevent him from becoming a tyrant. does ambessa become a tyrant/bloodthirsty leader with her newfound power? will mel join the black rose and betray her mother in order to stop piltover’s destruction?

julius caesar is a tragedy.

one last thing. in all of these works, the main character of the story dies by the end.

so, safe to say, i am very nervous about what the introduction is foreshadowing. i have a feeling an important character is going to die.

arcane will be a tragedy. 

(viktor and the mask is also a reference to phantom of the opera but, as much as i love that musical, i haven’t analysed his shots yet so i haven’t included it)

what's really interesting is katsuki's dialogue in the end, he says, "腐れ縁だわ.." which is basically-

like they are close but not that close ;; i was considering putting it as a "toxic relationship" but rotten also goes the same way. i really like that he admits to others openly that their relationship was terrible to the point where he tries to change ;;;;

edit: because some understood it differently lol i described 腐れ縁 as "an undesirable but inseparable relationship" as i've mentioned above. i took the literal kanji 腐: rotten/sour since if you do try to describe 腐れ縁 in simpler terms, it'll more than likely lose its deeper meaning ;; if i were to edit it out, i would say "it was a complicated relationship" instead. now IF i had enough space tho, i would prob put "it was an unsavory relationship where i couldn't break it off no matter what."

Take all of this with a large grain of salt, but I have HEARD that the person who accused Jimmy needed money for a medical procedure right around the time she accused him. She also accused him of doing this way back in 1997-1999, and accused him in 2021 (the crime being sexual battery of a minor). It’s a strange coincidence that she waited to say it for over 20 years, but it doesn’t make it necessarily untrue. She could have been afraid, or didn’t care, so she didn’t say anything until she needed the money. But she also could have made it up for it as well. I’m neutral about this and am hoping to learn more soon so I can get a better opinion. If Jimmy did do what he was accused of, he deserves to be in jail. I really hope he didn’t, but there’s no way to know for sure. I just hope the truth is confirmed soon. Please kindly let me know if anything I said here is wrong, I am pretty slow, and if I was wrong about any of this I will delete or edit this post with any information it needs.

"oh, my dove..." he says, pulling you close to him. he rests your head on his chest, stroking your hair or caressing your cheek. you look up at him, smiling softly, touched by his words.

"I go get you chocolates and medovik." he says as he rushes out, then turns around.

"honey cake. very good, very comforting." he clairifies. you chuckle to yourself as he rushes out to get you some sweets and comfort food. you really don't know what you'd do without him.

Jesper goes to college for agriculture but then switches to a theater degree, Kaz is in economics and like business, Nina studies International Relations, Inej is either an English or a Psychology major, Wylan is chem or music, probably a chem major and a music theory minor for his fathers sake, and Matthias… honestly i don’t know what Matty does. he’s just there. he works at a coffee shop with Jes. and he does school but like i have no clue what.

Okay, so I’m still chewing on this Hallis situation.

1. Ludinus was human in his youth but he’s been doing the fey slurpee shit for so long it actively altered his body. (Hence his particularly fey-like ears.)

2. Ludinus and Hallis were kids together and Ludinus has co-opted Hallis’s entire tragedy as if it were his own so even if he obviously can’t convince anyone he was Hallis, he can still use him as a platform. (The Dear Evan Hanson Approach.)

3. Hallis has nothing to do with Ludinus and Ludinus didn’t know him at all and he’s looking at this like Kipperlily Copperkettle looks at Riz right now feeling like his sad backstory is not NEARLY epic enough and he missed an opportunity to go bigger.
