There are 9 keys, but only 4 were present for the meeting. At least one cucurucho was murdered just before they got sent to prison. I'm curious how close they'll weave the creators personal lore to the over arching qsmp lore? Will some of the personal lore villains turn out to be in that group of 9 that have keys? Richarlyson told Philza the mission to purgatory to rescue Celbit and Baghera would be in a week or two, and I wondered a little why Richars picked Phil specifically for that, and seemingly only Phil of all the adults? When he does have other people about who he could asked. Like Etoiles would have been so down, he lives for that kind of adventure and he'd do anything for Pomme. So I was thinking maybe there's a plan for Philza (as leader of Bolas) to encounter purgatory lore and maybe come face to face with the watcher? Or maybe I'm overthinking it, maybe it's just that he's the only one Celbit and Baghera would trust and follow in their probably fragile state of mind? But heck knows how they'll prepare for that mission now. It's unclear how much of their stuff will survive the upheaval. I really hope Missa is there when Phil leaves for that because he's definitely not telling Chayanne and Tallulah where he's going and why because they'd never let him go alone. A lot is uncertain about the effects of the reset, but Rose's sanctuary is for sure saved. Like it makes absolutely no sense to the lore if a sanctuary protected by a demi Goddess would get destroyed by something that isn't world ending. On the other hand this is definitely going to significantly sap her strength and I wouldn't be surprised if the sanctuary were to be compromised in the not too distant future.

Today: High Noon Over Camelot

I’m in a King Arthur mood again.

High Noon Over Camelot is an album by The Mechanisms. It tells a coherent story by altering short narrative bits with songs. The story is the fall of Camelot from the King Arthur legend, only that in this version, they are all space cowboys on an old space station complete with the warring groups and magic-like remains of forgotten technology. Also, Mordred is trans and Arthur, Lancelot and Guinevere are in a poly relationship.

Putting aside the fact that I very much am of the opinion that Arthur, Lancelot and Guinevere should be in a poly relationship, this genuinely is one of the best retellings of the legend I know. Most King Arthur adaptations tend to either 1) ignore the legend completely and make up something completely different, or 2) keep basically telling the same three stories over and over. The Mechanisms however clearly know the source material well enough to be able to get creative with it, while keeping the link to the original, and also preserving the tragedy that is really central to the story of King Arthur. Besides, space cowboys are always cool. Also the format of spoken text alternating with music is something we don’t really see much.

ur post about queerbaiting and the dismissal of people in fandom to critical analysis is so incredibly true thank you. i feel like marcille's writing in the anime has been super misogynistic a lot of the time and every time i bring this up all anyone wants to say is "well maybe this isn't for you! and you shouldn't watch the show!" like. i don't think this is about taste lmao, i am analyzing the text in front of me and coming to conclusions about the craft of it.

It is so so frustrating!!!!

It's like being at a restaurant and being served a bunch of delicious appetizers, but then one of the bread appetizers is literally just a plate of crumbs; and then when you're like, "Hey, uhh, why are we being served literal crumbs?", a bunch of the other folks eating at the restaurant are like,

"WELL HOW ABOUT YOU JUST DON'T EAT HERE THEN??!? YOU MUST NOT BE THAT HUNGRY, SO JUST FIND ANOTHER RESTAURANT AND DON'T EAT WITH US!!"

And maybe they say it politely, but "Aw, sorry, maybe this restaurant just isn't for you 💖" is just trading out an aggressive dismissive tone for a patronizing dismissive tone. It's the same message.

And it's like! I was honestly happy to move on from the crumbs once my complaint was acknowledged because the meal overall is still delicious, but then all these folks got SUPER WEIRD AND DEFENSIVE ABOUT IT, so now I find myself double-checking all the other dishes -- and, actually, you know what those eggs DO look a Iittle misogynistic undercooked!!!!
