AITA for being upset that all my friends constantly play a game together that I can't touch?

Basically, my friends (20s) and I (25nb) have known each other since high school. We used to hang out constantly but with adult life existing we just have less time to kill on silly things. Because of this, we now mostly have voice call hangouts on discord since its not as demanding of time.

Most of the time we would just chill and work on our own things, but a few months back a few of my friends started getting into Genshin Impact and would play it together while on the call. Eventually the rest of my friend group followed and started joining in, which I had no problem with, because it was a "sometimes" thing.

Recently though its been an "always" thing. Whenever we have a call everyone plays Genshin, and naturally a majority of the conversation is about what they're doing in Genshin, to the point where its kinda feeling like I'm interrupting if I talk about anything else.

I don't really have anything against the game, I just can't touch it because I have had previous issues with gambling type stuff and I recognize it's not something I can play. I'm glad I realized this early on when I was young and had limited disposable income + couldn't legally get a credit card, but the amount I spent on mobile games like this is nothing to sneeze at still. Now that I'm an adult with a decent income I try my best to be diligent.

I have been very open with my friends about this fact and they know my issues. I've tried asking them if we can play something different sometimes, because I feel kindof excluded. At best I've gotten back a "yeah sure" with no real follow-up or change, at worst I've gotten a "It's actually really kind to their F2P players and you don't need to spend money on it to progress etc etc etc" which. I've tried explaining that's not how this works and f2p won't stay f2p for me but sometimes it feels like they're just not listening.

Every time I bring up an alternative to try I get back a "Sorry I don't have the money rn" (bc anything without gambling mechanics costs money upfront) which I understand! But if I offer to buy a game for everyone when it's on sale or something they refuse because they feel weird accepting gifts.

I kinda got to the end of my rope with it because I don't think they were getting how isolating it was to be the only one not playing when we were hanging out. I kinda blew up after they gave me the same "nono don't buy me anything" on a game that was literally $3, and asked if actually gave a shit about including me in things anymore, which obviously they got super defensive about.

I feel bad about it because it was unfair even though we've barely talked about anything other than Genshin lately, and I tried to apologize but they basically froze me out. I snapped a little again after one of them told me I was being too sensitive about it and making my problem everyone's issue when they were just having a good time, and I haven't tried to talk to them for a few days now.

Obviously I don't want to lose my friend group over a stupid anime game, and I'm probably going to try to fix it. But I just want to know if I'm actually being too sensitive about this (I am pretty upset at being excluded bc of my issues, intentionally or not, and idk if that's affecting my judgement), or if theyre being too flippant about the problem.

yo an murder drones au( kinda)

so I keep have a stupid idea of combining MD and lethal company you know where they collect junk and shit.

also I had a thought about you know when people say that N,V,J are kinda also part organic (or something) I thought of Protogens where they are built with organic and robot features

So here’s where this au plays out my oc (crow or something I don’t have a name for him yet) is apart of this company in a crew of about 5 or so.(lethal company ) where they get stuff to sell and they travel with a self flying ship. But my ocs are more of being more similar to Protogets like having tails and claws. i feel like they would have to be way stronger then workers/murder drones because THEY have to fight things off to get some junk they have to sell so they can live. Also I think they will start getting used to dying a lot. Maybe there a system where like in the game you can spectate others when you die.

also here’s my goober and some info about them.

I have a thing where sometimes they might need to blend in(the best they could ) they use mimicry like some animals we have like they would take old parts (they mainly use murder drones parts) and basically just put it on themselves like some type of costume to have others to stay away.

So my character tail is based off of my creature but also a bit of a monster (from monster hunter) nargacuga because I think using the tail spikes as a weapon is definitely a very good defense mechanism.

so crow has acid spit and venom in the tail spikes( and similar to rainwing venom it can cancel each other out, like with if you get hit by the tail spikes and get venom in your hand,Crow can just spit on your hand and your ok). Also idk what the fish is called but it also have venom spikes and it lives on the ground and it’s venom is very deadly, is also a inspiration.

also you know the visor (using N for the example) when they are very predatory and out for blood. Crow (and whatever this weird type of drones/species they are going to be called) they also mimic that.

also they can’t change part like protogens. They are stuck like how they are. And I feel like they would be a bit taller then we are( I don’t remember which one it was but worker/or murder drones are as tall as humans)so crow is like ranboo tall or even tall then him (ranboo’s height btw is 6,6)

they are very very chaotic gremlin.

I think sometimes these type of drones can wear shoes but some can’t because of how their body/ legs are built.

also I feel like they also don’t really need to eat but only for animal/creature half. But idk. Crow favorite food is bread(sometimes fish and types of meats, yes both raw and cooked)

I also think about how maybe the creatures they are built with had memories but were just grabbed at a semi young age and were forced into this. But just like N,V,J they don’t really remember (but like in spirited away that one character says that you don’t really truly forget) so that memory is just so hidden.

also I don’t know if worker/murder drones can survive water and other things that harm computer software usually. Because it isn’t really stated (but it you think about it,they have to be. Because the workers that might be working in the caves get wet because there are water in caves like 70% of the time. And the company don’t want to keep on replacing robots that keep dying every time.)

but ok anyways these drones I made they can swim and shit, so what if they go the planet that the story takes place (just pretend there is open water sources) and they are trying to escape J (or someone)they they just jump into the water is give them a face of ‘what are you going to do about it’

also where are the animals/creatures yes I know it is stated that the air is toxic but animals and thing adapt (+ the trees are alive as I can see it) and yes I know it might too much time on the animators to make animals walking about. But at least make stuff that lets us infer that there are animals/creatures living about.

also because I made them where they can also just be their own like you know fresh from the Undertale aus he ain’t really a sans he’s a parasite and his creator asked Toby fox if they can make him his own thing and he said yes. So theses drone things can be apart of an murder drones au thing or just be their own thing.

and unlike JCJenson (IN SPAAAAACEE!!!!) this company that crow works for doesn’t give stupid codes for them so they can have their own names and do whatever they want as long they hit the quotas they are fine to vibe.

I want do something in the future where I animate lethal company clips but replace them with my characters. And my friends characters because I told them about this.

Some sketch studies with the TNT Twins! Can you tell I’m obsessed? No? That’s alright, you’ll learn.

This is really fun pose practice, and like uh… consistency for the design. If that makes sense. Idk

And lots of Donnie interactions because Donnie is baby and my favorite so he will just be anywhere and everywhere and ya'll just have to deal with it.

Wyvere Reviews All the Monster Hunter Monsters (Arthropod Monsters)

If you know me, you know arthropods are one of my favorite groups of animals in the world. And of course, they're popular as monsters in media. So of course we have some bug monsters in Monster Hunter! We'll be covering multiple classes today, like we did with the last review.

Neopterons

We're starting off with the Neopterons, a class consisting of insect-like monsters. The first monster of note is Altaroth, an ant monster. I like those little crests on their heads, they kinda remind me of flowers, but what I really love is that they have bellies like honeypot ants! That's a wonderful touch of real world biology, which is always something I love with fictional monsters! 7/10

Tbh, the Konchu feels like they should belong in the Carapaceon class, seeing as how they have more similarities to crustaceans, especially pillbugs. Still pretty cool, 7/10.

The first of the big bug monsters is the Seltas Queen, who is obviously a bug queen. She's got traits of beetles and scorpions, but... kinda comes across as a sort of generic "bug queen" type monster? Idk what exactly it is, but I just don't enjoy the design too much. The tail is cool, at least. 6/10

Ahtal-Ka is a LOT cooler, and not just because they're a praying mantis with an Egyptian motif (though that is part of the appeal, of course). You see, they can create motherfucking mechas.

I AM NOT JOKING. LOOK AT THIS. IT IS CANON IN MONSTER HUNTER THAT THERE IS A SPECIES OF GIANT MANTIS INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO CRAFT GIANT MECHAS MADE OF SILK AND STONE, AND ALSO CONTROL THESE MECHAS FOR COMBAT. THIS OPENS SO MANY STORY POSSIBILITIES BUT FOR SOME REASON THEY ONLY APPEARED IN ONE GAME AND NEVER AGAIN. 8.5/10

Okay okay, I need to cool off from the mecha-making-mantis, and talk about another cool bug monster. The Temnocerans are supposed to be spiders, but Nerscylla here has six legs, which clearly means they're an insect! But they are still a cool bug monster, made more interesting due to the fact that they wear the skins of their prey. Creepy, yes, but the Hunters are guilty of that too. Also, I love spiders, even if this is a spider mimic instead of a true spider. 8/10

I know I've made the unofficial rule to not talk about the smaller monsters, but the Rachnoid and Pyrantula are just so cute, and also I like how Pyrantula looks like a little pumpkin! 7.5/10

I got a picture of Rakna-Kadaki's plush because it's kinda hard to read the features on the official render. Plus the plush is cute (actually the Monster Hunter plushies are cute in general, go look them up). Anyway, Rakna-Kadaki is a pretty cool monster too, with how they've wrapped themselves in silk and take inspiration from the Jorogumo of Japanese myth! 8/10

Carapaceons

Time for crab! Carapaceons are crustacean monsters, with most of them being specifically hermit crab monsters. Also, they have a habit of collecting monster bones, often to act as shells, which is pretty damn cool. The Ceanataur is a pretty good crab, I like their scythe-esque claws. 7.5/10

Shen Gaoren has some long legs almost like a spider crab, and also a nice coconut crab face. 7.5/10

I think my favorite of the crabs, though, would be Hermitaur. Like real world hermit crabs, they wear armor to protect their sensitive skin, but instead of shells, Hermitaur wears monster skulls! They also have a very spooky and badass face to go along with their creepy defense mechanism! 8/10

Bonus Flying Wyverns

In order to pad this review out and also get rid of the need to review even more monsters with the Flying Wyvern post, we're using some of the monsters of that class who are distinctly more similar to invertebrates. We're starting this bonus round with Khezu, and... well, they sure are a weird cave monster. They sure are creepy and offputting to look at, and that goal was definitely achieved. 5/10, they are a good design, but one that makes me deeply uncomfortable.

Gigginox, at least, is much easier on the eyes. They're more weird than overtly creepy, and they also feel more like a leech monster than Khezu. 7.5/10

Fortunately, we end on what is possibly one of my favorite monsters in the series! Astalos is a freaking beetle dragon, which I obviously adore, and merges those aspects absolutely wonderfully! They're such a gorgeous monster, and a perfect note to end this post on! 9/10!

“IU - Celebrity” Analysis

THE QUEEN HAS RETURNED!!!

I know it’s unhealthy to simp for celebrities...but IU is an exception. I have been rewatching her new comeback an unhealthy amount of times so I thought I’d share some things/details/background info :))

1) Background

So IU wrote about the lyric writing process this time and OMG I have to copy and paste her whole statement bc it’s so beautiful:

"I have a friend who has often been treated as an eccentric person due to her eye-catching outfit, her unique taste, dynamic talents, defensive mechanisms stemming from shyness, and a personality that clearly knows her preferences. I loved her even more because of these unique characteristics of hers, but for the same reasons, she has been living under more scrutiny and hateful eyes. These are the words I wanted to tell my 'unusual friend' that turned into the lyrics to this song but as I worked on the song, I realized that this is also my story as well. After completing the song, I thought that anyone can be the main character to this song. I'm sure everyone has felt left out at least once in their lives because they dont' meet the standards others have made. I want to tell everyone, including my friend, who were born rough around the edges but special. You are not a person from the star (common saying in Korea to mean someone weird/different) but are like a star."

OK THIS IS SO CUTE!! Because like first of all it’s so poetic...the play on words with you are not from the star, but a star yourself. And the fact that we are getting yet another song from IU that is not another romantic song. One of my long standing frustrations with the music industry (American, Korean, and Japanese), is songs tend to always center around romance, and IU tends to break those stereotypes (Bbibbi, Palette, 23, I-Land, 8, just to name her title tracks), and not only that but the fact that this is about her friend is just so beautiful T_T. Also did anyone else think of Sulli when they read this? Sulli was known for her eccentricity, different style, and being misunderstood, but the translation writes “I have a friend” in the present tense...so idk.

And just her wanting her fans/listeners to feel like the main character (ಥ﹏ಥ) (I’m not crying you are). This is especially such an important message for Korean and Asian fans in general. I only have my experience in Japan to speak to, but Asian collectivist cultures really punish those who stray from the norm, which not only ends up discouraging those from being unique and themselves, but also impedes social progress (feminism, environmentalism, social justice, animal rights, etc.).

And I also think it’s key where she wrote “as I worked on the song, I realized that this is also my story as well,”--more on that theme later when I break down the music video.

2) Music Video Analysis

The star motif

So she sort of does a play on words by putting a lot of star stuff in, star being another word for celebrity. And as the lyrics “You're a star painted with a left hand,” she’s talking about how this person isn’t the perfect/usual star, but perhaps a crooked/left-handed one...like the one shown to dot the “i” in the first image of the music video:

The star motif also features later around 1:09 in her dance, she draws a star with her finger.

The music video story

So basically it seems IU is playing two people--one is herself, a celebrity type figure dressed in glam clothes, and the other is the unique, “star” character (a stand in for her friend that she wrote the lyrics about). IU sings about the “star,” “A troubled outsider The walk, the style Through the earphones The music is all minor You have no idea Above your lowered head What the bright lights are Shining towards.”

The music video shows IU in glamorous clothes:

While this “star” character is in her unique/non-glam clothing, walking through the crowd.

We can also sense IU’s isolation, she’s dressed like a princess in this glamorous pastel pink room, but she is alone, and the lights flash almost ominously outside, like the constant threat of paparazzi/people always surrounding her wanting to look in on her life:

Or how the clothing racks gradually disappear, revealing her standing alone worriedly:

The next we see IU standing off to to the side (I believe it’s IU bc she’s in an undercover outfit, but it’s clearly very glamorous), as she hides from fans chasing her:

When the crowd passes, she looks around and catches sight of “star” IU, and is seemingly very taken by her unique beauty:

IU chases the “star,” but loses sight of her, and is once again alone:

The irony here is that a) despite being adored and chased by many, the celebrity IU feels alone, and that b) despite being this glamorous celebrity, celebrity IU adores this unique “star,” that is just living her life, and not universally adored like celebrity IU. Celebrity IU almost seems envious of her freedom and unique style. But as the lyrics say, she also is upset at the way society treats the unique “star:”

“Your weary face looks like/ Someone powered you off/ The heartbeat went too quiet/ The glow you have/ The imagination, identity/ Are on a diet” “

These lyrics I had the most trouble with...I think it means the “star”’s imagination and unique identity are being starved/mistreated by society, like they are being forced to put on a diet.

Next we have:

“You have no idea/ Still not fully bloomed/ Written for you/ A bygone love poem” as celebrity IU works, it seems, on a love poem for the “star.”

Here the star motif features pretty literally, as she is surrounded by her poem writing as the stars fall across the sky. The “written for you, a bygone love poem” could also be a reference to IU’s other song, Love Poem? Also going back to how this could reference Sulli, I could help but be reminded of how IU wrote the song “Peach” about Sulli’s beauty and how much she adored her friend.

Next we see IU in front of this huge tapestry of celebrity IU, but this time she is wearing a dress studded with stars, and looking further up. She passes through the tapestry, and this could be like a sign of her growth? Like moving past her huge blown up celebrity image of herself to find her true self in a star studded dress?

She then enters into a dark vacuum where she is surrounded by people dancing with lights (another continuation of the star motif):

I think this is the turning point to the music video. Because now it is celebrity IU surrounded by stars. The next scene shows the people (all the people that once chased her) simply walking past her on the steps, perhaps alluding to how fame is ephemeral. She looks unsure and insecure here.

The next scene is most steeped in symbolism; she is in the same room that she was in alone before looking out at the city, but now the curtains are drawn (symbolizing privacy?) and IU reaches out towards an identical version of herself. Now the line between celebrity IU and “star” IU becomes blurred:

It seems that the left is “star” IU, and the right is celebrity IU, who continues to pine and look up to an almost indifferent “star” IU. “Star” IU gets up to leave, and morphs back into her “star” outfit from the beginning of the video, re-affirming that this is in fact “star” IU.

When celebrity IU notices she’s gone, she rushes up to find her (again paralleling her chase at the beginning of the music video), but when she goes to where “star” IU disappears, she is simply confronted with a mirror: she was the unique star all along!

In a sense, the message here could be that our own unique beauty may seem obvious to everyone else (the viewer knew that “star” IU was the same person (IU) as celebrity IU all along, but it took celebrity IU the whole music video to figure it out.

Almost as if this whole sequence has been inside celebrity IU’s head, she seems to come to this realization on a red carpet surrounded by flashing cameras:

Here she breaks the fourth wall, looking directly at the camera, as if to now realize: “I have been my own unique “star” all along.” She looks at the camera as the music sings, “you are my celebrity,” perhaps to mean that the viewer is her celebrity, or that she herself is her own celebrity, and runs off, away from the cameras (as if running away from her fame for a moment), in her beautiful red dress, free and confident at last. In the past she has always been running to chase “star” IU, but now she seems to be running simply for herself:

Messages/themes:

I think there are a couple of final messages here, and it is truly to IU’s credit that she was able to pack so many themes/messages into one music video. I think the dynamic I’m most interested in is how it runs the age old theme of the harms of celebrity fame, but it puts a very unique twist on it. While it shows the isolating aspects of fame, it also has a positive spin, that the love and affection bestowed upon celebrities isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but rather that we should redistribute that love and affection towards those closest to us, and see each other the way IU saw her friend. It also shows that fame and adoration don’t matter when you are insecure in yourself, given the irony of celebrity IU chasing after “star” IU.

This message that what matters most is cherishing and being cherished by those closest to you is interesting, because it can apply to both celebrities and non-celebrities. Celebrities may be adored, but it can be superficial, so they need the genuine love of close friends. Conversely, non-celebrities may feel super connected to their celebrities, but ultimately they need real life close friends. I think the message serves to both humanize celebrities in this way, while also saying that non-celebrities, and even weird/eccentric people, are deserving of the love and adoration we usually only reserve for picture-perfect celebrities.

I think perhaps the most poignant part, is the message of self-love: how at the end she realized that perhaps despite being pigeon-holed in certain ways as a public figure, she can reclaim her unique, beautiful parts. How we can be envious of others who seem set on their unique path and unafraid, but that we are unique and different too.

Also can we talk about how she served LOOKS!!! All of those outfits were GOLD. Anyways, I hope her music and its message reverberate with people who feel undeserving as “outsiders” and being eccentric. Being different is amazing. And as IU suggests, even though we may not be pop stars, we are all “celebrities” to someone. As the saying goes, “to the world you may just be one person, but to one person you may be the world.”

WAIT THIS IS SUCH A GOOD QUESTION omg so

Maria: I would say perhaps a snow leopard! shes very independant and likes solitude! also snow leopards are ambush predators which definately suits her fighting style

Leona: maybe a mongoose? these are native to the philippines, which is where leona is from. mongooses are also seen as being aggresive, despite only attacking when they are defending themselves :D

Felix: he's definately some type of bird! doing some research i would say he's most similar to a Harris Hawk as theyre the only bird of prey i could find that had friendly temperaments LMFAO

Abbigail: despite her being a dragon in canon, the animal shes most similar to i would say is just a golden retriever :) shes super friendly and bubbly

Annora: idk why but she gives me huge chinchilla/ sugar glider vibes.. like a small fluffy girl :)

Owen: i also did some research for his because i was really stuck but i think hes most like a jerboa! its a small mouse like mammal from northern africa that can survive pretty hot tempuratures! i chose this mostly though because theyre quite anxious and skittish, just like Owen lol

Frith: this guy is definately a cat, no specific breed lol. both the broody vibe and also the surprising loyalty

Loreina: she reminds me somewhat of a skunk for some reason? shes quite playful, which some skunks can be! but also she has crazy defense mechanisms under her sleeve for when she feels threatened

Hi, can you tell me about Characters? Literally anything you want to share, anything you've been thinking about lately, or new realizations about the characters?

Sorry I'm not being very specific, I just got back from work and I am somewhat brain-dead. Please make the answer as long as you feel like writing, atm I would happily read a small novella about your ocs (but no I will not pick up a book, too much work, why, brain?)

I’ll just go down the list of characters ⟟ have so far and give you all the info ⟟ have on them :D

(Disclaimer ⟟ literally have no names for them, ⟟ think the mechanic is going to be Elliot though)

First off we have MC

MC is their placeholder name for now

They are 16 and are an only child

Their parents were super loving, like think the Addams family but not gothic lol. ⟟ have so many ideas about how to show that throughout the story, my favorite idea being them watching an old family video on bubz’s screen.

It would show clips of holidays, big events, and soft moments like dancing in the kitchen. Just overall ⏃ very lovey vibe.

⟟ have ⏃ vivid idea of this being an animated show, so the episode would seem like ⏃ flashback into MCs past, showing their mother and father both working in the medical field, how much they loved each other and MC and just overall ⏃ great family episode before you see the screen go black. You can faintly see the reflection of MCs crying face before the camera switches to their side as they hug their knees, sobbing.

Next up we have this guy, like ⟟ said no names but ⟟ love him

He/they, 17

Kinda ⏃ big brother type, absolutely loves nature and going outside, will ask if you would go on ⏃ hike with him

He’s ⏃ wood worker, picked it up when he was ⏃ freshman and just took off with it. Builds ⏃ lot of the furniture that the group uses in their main house.

They also play the trombone, ⟟ have no idea why ⟟ just think it’s funny, definitely would play loudly to annoy people

They/them 16

They can sew, is really good at paintball, and knows ⏃ LOT about plants

⟟ accidentally started shipping them with the last guy and now ⟟ just think it’s so cute, just the two of them going on hikes, talking about different plants and just enjoying each other company.

They can also play the piano and the drums

Next up is ⏃ character that I’ve technically posted about before because she’s one of my bnha ocs.

⟟ kept ⏃ lot of info ⟟ already had on her, 18 years old, she/her nonbinary, good at self defense and fighting techniques, enjoys reading, and has basic first aid knowledge.

Her best friend is ⏃ trans woman that I’m thinking of naming Sarah after ⏃ trans woman ⟟ know irl :)

18, she/her

She also knows basic self defense because she and her friend took classes together since they were 8

She can cook really well, tends to cook for the whole group if they aren’t feeding themselves

She doesn’t like thunderstorms and usually needs to have headphones in during them so she can calm down

Definitely acts like she doesn’t like the others but would probably kill someone for them

19 (the oldest and shortest of the group) she/they/zem

Definitely ⏃ mom friend, can knit and sew, bake, dance, and garden. Very self sufficient but tends to forget to take care of zirself in the attempt to take care of everyone else, seeing as they are just kids.

They are very social and tends to need to be around someone at all times, even if it’s just sitting in the same room as someone else without talking.

18, she/they, 6’4, huge woman ⟟ want her to hold me

On the artistic side, draws, sings, and used to be in color guard

Definitely ⏃ cuddler, has an on going joke with mom friend just about both of their heights

18, he/they, resident white boy

Honestly Idk how this guy fits into the story yet, he’s very underdeveloped, all ⟟ have about them is that he is ⏃ history nut, literally has so many dates and information about history in his head why does he ever know this stuff.

They also are pretty great at math, can do ⏃ lot of quick multiplication and division in his head

He’s ⏃ goofball and tries to keep people’s spirits high even if it’s at the expense of his happiness, definitely tells stupid puns and makes self degrading jokes about themself.

17, she/her

Another underdeveloped character, she’s one of the more recent ones

I’m going to have to do ⏃ lot of research on Muslims because ⟟ really wanna get her right

So far just for simple character stuff she likes to garden with the mom of the group and she enjoys dancing and listening to music

What are their biggest secrets? I don’t really think she has secrets. She usually is fairly open about things. There are things she has yet to tell herself… but mostly she says what she thinks and feels.

What is their philosophy of life? The beauty of life is in the people you share it with. Choose wisely and be a person that can make their life beautiful as well.

When was the last time they cried? Probably at multiple points while Binx was missing.

What haunts them? She said, ‘idk ghosts?’

If they could change one thing about themselves, what would it be? She would be less afraid of the witches.

What is their obsession? All things witches. She thinks about witches, dreams about witches, reads about witches. She is unsure where the lines between terror, fascination, and envy are.

What are their pet peeves? When people don’t listen to her, especially her brother.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Is their family big or small? Who does it consist of? Just her, her mom and dad, and brother.

What is their perception of family? She loves her family and depends on them, but she firmly believes that that same kind of family can be found in other places. It’s not all about blood.

Describe their best friend. Binx is certainly the yin to her yang sometimes. He’s deep and contemplative, made up by centuries of experiences and layers that she really is only starting to peel back. She feels their connection goes deeper than that of friends, though. This is her person, her soul mate in life. Her other bestie is Fran. Their immortality has allowed her to create a friend in them that you normally might not see with their vast age difference.

Describe their other friends. Dani’s type is apparently immortal hot men, and she is not complaining. She surrounds herself with them. Outside of that, when it comes to friends her own age, it’s more of a mix of personalities. She’s sweet, but mischievous, which allows her to be friends with people like Logan and Aurora and remain completely herself. She likes having a friend for all occasions.

Describe their acquaintances. Dani probably has acquaintances, but she’s quick to call you her friend, regardless of how the other person might see it.

Do they have any pets? She needs a new cat, preferably a regular one this time.

PAST AND FUTURE

What was your character like as a baby? As a child? I think her personality has been fairly steady throughout her life. She’s always been relatively upbeat and a troublemaker.

Did they grow up rich or poor? Middle class.

Did they grow up nurtured or neglected? Nurtured.

What is their greatest achievement? I don’t know if she has one yet. In writing her, I like to take the mentality that until the moment the witches were released, her life was very ordinary. She wasn’t rich, or poor, or had anything big and dramatic happen to her. All her greatest achievements as well are yet to come.

What was their first kiss like? It was fine. Nothing to write home about.

What are their ambitions? She currently is really into learning about magic and really getting to a place of understanding of it. Partly she thinks it will help her fight against the witches, but beneath that, she hopes understanding magic will make it less frightening.

What advice would they give their younger self? “It’s going to be scary but it’s going to be worth it. Just be brave.”

What smells remind them of their childhood? Salt air

What was their childhood ambition? To be Doctor Dolittle

Did they have an imaginary childhood friend? Oh, for sure. His name was also Max, like her brother, was the same age, but was always there to play with her.

When was the last time they were crushed with disappointment? When she thought Binx had left her.

What past act are they most ashamed of? Unleashing the witches onto the world. She wouldn’t take it back, because it brought so much to her life, but she is aware of the danger of it. It’s a complicated feeling that she struggles to navigate.

LOVE

Do they believe in love at first sight? I think she does in the way that most young people have an impractical idea of what love is, but she would say that she doesn’t believe in love at first sight though.

Are they in a relationship? Not at the moment.

How do they behave in a relationship? She’s all about the fun aspects of relationships. She loves just goofing off with the person, is constantly looking for excuses to be around them, trying to make them laugh and have fun with her.

When did you character last have sex? A couple years ago.

What sort of sex do they have? The inexperienced kind.

Has your character ever been in love? Nope

Have they ever had their heart broken? … probably, but only in like, having a deep crush on a guy who doesn’t like her back and how that feels really serious and earth-shattering in that moment when you’re young.

CONFLICT

How do they respond to a threat? She tells her army of hot immortal men… lol, she actually can get a little mouthy when she’s in danger. It’s her defense mechanism.

Are they most likely to fight with their fists or their tongue? Tongue, but she’s not unwilling to fight with her fists. She never has, but she could.

What is your character’s kryptonite? If someone she loves is in danger, she would probably give the person whatever they wanted.

If your character could only save one thing from their burning house, what would it be? Her cat.

How do they perceive strangers? She used to be very open with strangers, and to an extent, she still is. She’ll tell you her life story if you get her going. It doesn’t mean she is as willing to trust people as she used to be with the important things.

What is their choice of weapon? Flamethrower, if she’s being given the option. Who would pick anything else?

What living person do they most despise? The witches.

Have they ever been bullied or teased? Nothing serious, I doubt.

Where do they go when they’re angry? Dani is very much a pillow screamer. Her pillow, your pillow, if she gets pissed, no pillow is safe from being screamed into.

Who are their enemies and why? The witches. They might give a damn about Dani but she feels its her duty to keep people safe from them. She doesn’t know how to do that yet, but she’s learning. She’s ready to make them give a damn.

Do they believe in happy endings? She believes some people get them and hopes that she’s one of the lucky ones that does.

I’ve never done a match up, but it seems cool, so I think I’ll try. Feel free to take your time or not do it at all, no pressure.

I’m an aroace, transmasc, 4’11, 17 year old. My pronouns are he/they, I’m an INTJ-T personality type and a Scorpio. I have depression, sensory deficit disorder, and anxiety. Usually when you first meet me I’m cold, distant, sometimes even unintentionally mean. It’s sort of a defense mechanism. I actually love to joke around (even though I have dark humor) and I tend to be very protective. Though, I’m blunt, as well as a realist/pessimistic, and I have a foul-mouth. On the positive side, I don’t get mad easily. In fact, I’m usually tranquil. Emotions aren’t my forte, I can identify other’s feelings and be very supportive/empathetic. But, with myself, I have trouble and always carry a blank or annoyed expression. For my fears; I have mysophobia, trypophobia, and coulrophobia. My lifestyle is generally organized and scheduled. My hobbies consist of figure skating, baking/cooking, reading, writing, and traveling (to non-populated, forested areas). I like music, gaming, cats, and tea. I dislikes loud noises, invading my personal space, and messes. Emocore is my aesthetic. I’ll usually wear a striped (black and another color), long sleeve shirt under a black, short sleeve shirt with short-black jeans, and pants chains. My hair is black and straight, I also have an undercut-bowl cut that covers my grey colored eyes. My dream is to graduate college and become a technical scientist. Fun fact, I have a secret love for stuffed animals. Lastly, I’d probably define myself as intelligent and mildly strong (I can definitely whoop someone’s ass in a fight, lol).

on august fourth , 1999 , brooklyn paige guiliana moreno was born to nadia & lorenzo moreno . she was their second born child , the baby of the family with an older brother by two years. born in milano , italy , but they moved to manhattan before she turned one , so she has no memory of it. as a child , brooke did everything her parents asked of her. she was people pleaser , and she thrived off the attention and validation. one day after seeing toddlers & tiaras on tv , brooke begged her parents to let her do pageants. and she very quickly moved up from just beauty pageants , into the real world of fashion and modeling. she loved the glitz and glam of it , and the way people would praise her for it. by the time she was 18 and finally able to focus full time on modeling , she was one of the top high fashion models in the world.

brooke met her first boyfriend her junior year of high school , and she fell head over heels for him. in hindsight , she knows it was more puppy love than real true love , but back then she had been so blinded by her feelings for him that she thought it would truly be something that could last. they were together for all of high school , until one party right after they graduated. they were playing spin the bottle ( bc ofc they were ) and brooke ended up having to kiss his best friend. she thought it had all been fun and games , but apparently , he was infuriated by what happened , and they got in a fight and broke up the next day. after their break up , he leaked her nudes to the media for a pretty large check to ‘ get back at her ’. thankfully , he was too much of an idiot to do it anonymously , and it was quickly found out that he was the leak. he was stripped of his college scholarships for football and expelled from princeton before his freshman year of college had even begun.

unfortunately , brooke’s troubles didn’t end there. that same summer , her two closest friends turned on her as well. they sold lies about her to the media , twisting the story to put the blame on brooke , claiming that she had cheated on her boyfriend by sleeping with his best friend. they were also always giving tips to the paparazzi about her location. and there was one paparazzi that at first , always seemed to linger in the background whenever she was out in public. she would spot him out of the corner of her eye , but she’d hadn’t really though much about it until he started following her to first apartment ( she had been so excited to finally have a place all to herself , and was crushed when it was tainted ). the first time he did it , he just sat outside on the street , watching her enter the building but not going any further than that. things escalated very , very quickly from there. it seemed that every time she would leave the building , he would be there , snapping photos , taking videos & hounding her with incredibly personal questions. one night , she had arrived home from a photo shoot , wanting nothing more than to just do her skincare and pass out in bed. there had been nothing off as she had entered her apartment , nothing that could have set off an alarm in her head. but as soon as she entered her room , she found the man that had been harassing her for weeks , looking through her things just hoping to find a story he could sell to the media. she was able to get a restraining order on him after that , but since he hadn’t physically harmed her , no criminal charges stuck.

she’d felt violated and betrayed , and so , so scared that she was no longer able to live alone. she gets really uncomfortable in large crowds or when she’s alone late at night , because she’s terrified that one day he’ll show back up. for a few months , brooke refused to go therapy because she was insistent that the events had no effect on her , even though it was obvious that she had. she wasn’t sleeping at night ( and still struggles with insomnia to this day ), she was barely leaving the house unless it was for work , and she had pushed away all of her friends. she finally agreed to go after after she had passed out from exhaustion in the middle of a photo shoot, and she’s improved a lot since then , but she does still have some lasting ptsd and anxiety. she also has a really hard time truly trusting people now , because she’s always scared she’ll let someone in just for them to sell out all her secrets.

𝐈𝐈𝐈 . 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 :

she can kinda be a tough nut to crack , but underneath the hardcore closed of exterior , she has a very bubbly personality , is very free spirited , she has no filter , and she’s extremely animated . she also cannot stay still for more than 5 minutes. literally the energizer bunny personified

okay .... she is lowkey a huge attention whore. there’s really has no excuse why she is either she just ... sucks lmao. but she really just thrives off of having all eyes on her , and has a naturally alluring energy. also has a major tendency to stir drama , even if it’s unintentional. she’s the type to be like “ i’m not a fan of drama i’ll just stay out of it ” but then is always the FIRST to ask for all the tea whenever shit goes down

she’s also very much a serial dater. in her pea brain attention = love so she’ll flock to wherever she gets that. she likes the validation of relationships but hates the commitment , so pretty much all of her relationships end before they ever really start. it’s something the media has caught onto , and she’s criticized quite a lot for it.

she does a pretty good job at hiding her ptsd , but please just .... don’t sneak up on her or surprise her bc she will freak out ( nd then either get irrationally angry or completely shut down bc she doesn’t know how else to handle these emotions lol )

she is a hardcore adrenaline junkie , she does so much shit just for the thrill. for her eighteenth birthday , she went cliff diving in mexico , then for her twenty first , unlike most ppl who just go to a club & get drunk , she went sky diving. she just holds a lot of emotion in , so anything that will release all of that or make her feel anything other than the things she’s avoiding are very much welcomed.

brooke once sent nasa a 6 page persuasive essay trying to convince them to send her to space. included in said essay were multiple images of herself because “ i’m a star and i should be documented as such ” unfortunately for her , they never responded :(

she would not be caught dead looking unpresentable .... she’ll do a full face of make up even if she’s waking up at 4am. and don’t even bother to ask her to go out after she’s done her skin care routine .... there’s no chance

god complex but sometimes it takes the day off & she’ll be insecure as fuck. honestly the conceitedness is pretty much just a defense mechanism to hide how much she actually hates herself lmao very “ i feel like i’m the worst so i act like i’m the best ”

Organized religion can suck it. You can’t organize your relationship with God, nor can you stick it into a little manmade box and pretend that you have the ability to create a perfect faith which others have to either follow or perish. It’s arrogant and damaging and hurtful and not at all what Christianity is supposed to mean.

I do. I think it’s important and something we need to think about. I do believe there is something after death, and I like to believe that my life has meaning. I think that questions of creation are important questions to ask and we can’t just ignore them.
