Chapter 10 of The Plum Calendar is up!

In this chapter, Reigen and Serizawa finally have a talk. In the end, they’re wet, cold, covered in mud, one of them’s bleeding and they’re both halfway deaf. But to find out how that happened, you’re just gonna have to read the very final chapter of The Plum Calendar.

” Like I said, aside from the constant overhanging threat of being eaten, it was one of my better vacations to date.” The fact being, it was one of exactly two vacations Reigen had taken in his entire adult life, and the other one had been pretty severely dampened by a very predictable bout of salmonella. ”Besides, you, uh, definitely did your part,” he said, looking the other way. ”You’re a pretty smooth talker, when you wanna be. And you’re not a bad kisser, either.” Reigen didn’t have time to reflect on what a stupid, idiotic thing that had been to say, because he, along with all the woodsy debris on the ground, was being launched a good few meters up into the air by some unseen psychic force.

The Plum Calendar has been a fic about pretending to be engaged to the secret love of your life so a 200-year old ghost won’t marry him and keep him in the ghost dimension forever. But it has also been about not being good enough, about the concept of deserving, about what it means to be a liar, and whether or not that sort of thing is innate.

For those of you who have been reading along, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I can write 30 000 words of someone else’s sappy feelings, but I can never express how much I’ve loved having you read my story. And for the rest of you,  maybe check it out? I don’t know, you might like it.

I, uh- I do reblog things. I have some mental "rules" for what I like+reblog and what I "only" like. You can look through my blog and see I reblog a lot, both with and without tags. And I don't fully agree that likes don't do anything, although I know what you mean; for me, if I receive a like on my post, it means a lot to me. I understand that for others likes may be meaningless and not add any value to their day.

I'm not sure why this ask was sent, but I suspect it might be coming from someone whose posts I've 'liked' a lot, but haven't reblogged much? I sometimes save posts to draft to reblog later; sometimes I just don't want to reblog for whatever reason.

Okay. Okay, I don’t normally do this, but I’ve been wanting to do some sort of analysis post recently and the Sonadow shipper inside me grabbed me by the throat and pointed in Netflix's direction, soooooo...let’s have a look at some clips of Sonic and Shadow interacting in Sonic Prime, shall we? (Putting this under a readmore because of all the images.)

The first clip comes from this post. (I don't know how to add that particular gif to my post, or else I'd put it here too, but oh well. I'm analyzing the first one, to be specific.)

So, we begin with Shadow walking away, saying “We’re going after Nine”.

Sonic then reaches out to stop him (with his right hand, despite the fact that he has to reach all the way across his own body to do so, possibly suggesting that Prime!Sonic is right-handed?). This seems to be just before Shadow’s noticed, because he’s still moving forward, looking resolved now that he’s decided what to do.

Shadow sees Sonic’s hand, and looks at it with an expression that seems…mildly irritated, but not outright angry. It’s about halfway between his “resting grumpy face” and his “actually angry face”, in my opinion.

He looks over at Sonic himself with a slightly angrier face (mainly made evident by the fact that the point in the middle of his brow is actually touching his muzzle instead of resting above it).

Then he looks back at Sonic’s hand again (in a pose that I swear is slightly different from the last one even if it doesn’t look that way). The only real difference is that he’s just looking down a little more. The effect of these last three images in actual motion, though, is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glance at the hand, up to Sonic, and then back to the hand. It's sort of a "huh-what-huh?!" motion, I think. To me, this gives off extremely strong “what the heck is even happening right now?!” energy.

For completion’s sake, I’m going to finish out the rest of the gif with these last three pictures. Shadow pulls away from Sonic at this point (which, fair, Sonic did grab him out of nowhere and he’s not normally very touchy-feely although this may be disproved in the next gif), and it may or may not have felt like a small punch to the gut for me to see Sonic’s hand outstretched like that, but anyway.

Shadow shifts into one of his patented I’m Trying To Be Cool And Aloof Despite Being An Adorable Three Foot Tall Hedgehog poses, complete with an eyeroll. He doesn’t actually seem that upset about Sonic touching him, however, I think it’s probably more the context of the situation. Shadow keeps insisting that Nine is a threat that needs to be stopped, and Sonic keeps preventing him from doing that, so his frustrated reaction seems to have much more to do with why Sonic touched him than the fact that he did so at all.

And, least but certainly not least, a cute contemplative (and still slightly grumpy) expression from Shadow. (He’s just adorable!! Aaaaaaa—)

Now then! Let’s move onto a really, really big one…

…The Hug™.

The post that I got this clip from actually has some really good points that I’m going to discuss further, so please go read that first! It won’t take long, and also everything the OP says there is absolutely true.

Ready? Here we go! (Please excuse the slightly crunchy pictures...the only way I was able to get this level of detailed analysis was by recording the gif, scrubbing through the frames, and taking screenshots of specific moments, which naturally led to some artifacting.)

So, what's just happened prior to this frame was Rebel Rouge saying happily, "Sonic, you're okay!". Sonic, like the goof he is, does not acknowledge this in any way, fully focused on introducing his boyfriend to his other Shatterspace pals. Instead, he's just looking over at Shadow. Notably, Shadow is instead looking up at Rebel. I'd like to think this is because Rebel has the most put-together and leader-like behavior out of the Rouge counterparts, so he could be waiting for her to continue speaking and give instructions or commentary on the situation, like she does with Team Dark in the games. That's just my take, though, he could just as well be generally on edge—he is in the middle of a battlefield, after all.

Smear frame!! This is included for the expressions as well as for completeness…but mostly for the expressions. Look at how big Sonic's eyes are. Look at how excited he is. He's so hyped to introduce his best rival to everyone. Shadow, meanwhile, looks like he just bluescreened out of pure shock. Sonic's yanking him over so fast he's all blurry, but we can see that his expression is basically 0—0 right now. He has been Touched and he is being Moved and he has not had time to process Why.

(Notably, however, he doesn't break the hold, despite the fact that he definitely could...)

Now, they’ve both settled into place (although ‘settled’ may be the wrong word for Shadow, haha). Sonic is doing what I can only describe as beaming—just look at him! He has a big smile on his face, and he looks almost proud to be introducing Shadow. It really shows how much Sonic values and respects him. (*sobs*) Shadow, meanwhile, has shifted from “what is happening” to “oh Chaos I am being held I am being hugged?? What??? Physical contact? Why????”. He just looks so stunned by the hug, it’s too adorable! More specifically, in addition to the obvious fact that his irises and pupils have shrunk and that he has very stiff posture, if you look very closely at the gif as well as at the following pictures, his ears are also standing up a little straighter and his quills have pushed back slightly, possibly prickling at the sudden contact? Interesting…

Here, we can see Shadow’s ears relax now that he’s processed what’s going on, and his quills have more of a visible curve to them instead of sticking out so much. He’s also glaring off to one side in a position that could either be interpreted as frustration at his current situation (though not so much that he’s willing to push away!!) or as embarrassment. Personally, I think it’s a little of both. Sonic, meanwhile, is still smiling like the sweetheart he is.

Now, we’re getting into the frames leading up to Sonic leaning into Shadow (aka one of the most precious moments of the show). Honestly, I don’t have too much to say about this one, except that Sonic is moving in a way that he would normally while talking right now (shifting around, because this boy has loads of energy) so I have a feeling Shadow probably doesn’t expect the cuddles that are coming his way, ehehe.

The Smush begins!! Shadow looks like he’s quickly resigned himself to his fate, but also decently irritated that he’s essentially getting side-snuggled in front of everyone. This could’ve been another part where he shoved Sonic off himself (goodness knows he did it before in Avoid the Void), and yet he doesn’t, leading to the best part of this whole moment!

Sonic, you smug hedgie. Shadow’s already letting you hug him, don’t push it with that smirk! Shadow does have his eyes closed here, suggesting to me that he is at least a little bit annoyed by now. Again, though, I think this has more to do with the fact that he’s essentially in front of an entire crowd, none of whom recognize or know him. I’ve seen someone else point out that Shadow gets more closed off in Prime when he’s around people aside from Sonic, so honestly, the fact that he’s putting up with this at all sure is��something. (Shipping goggles on: it could be because he appreciates Sonic’s affection enough that he’s willing to cope with the embarrassment if it means the cute annoying hedgehog next to him will hold him a little longer :] )

Okay, so this is really difficult to see, but look at Shadow’s wrist protectors in this image as well as the last one. See how there’s less of them visible in this picture here? That’s because, as the person who posted this gif noted, Sonic moves his hand up and down Shadow’s arm twice after cuddling up to him like this. It actually moves Shadow’s entire arm and shoulder up and down with the movement, making it look a little bit like a friendly rub or shake. Sort of like “hey, look at my grumpy friend, isn’t he great?”. Meanwhile, Sonic’s still looking smug, but I’m now wondering if it’s a bit of a knowing look as well? I mean, this is the one friend of his who’s truly known him for more than a few days. I’m wondering if there’s a bit of “‘ey, Shadow, c’mon, don’t be so shy! You’re my pal!” vibes here, partially because he knows it’ll annoy Shadow and partly because he just knows how Shadow is but wants to drag him into his circle of friends regardless. (Look at how much Sonic cares about Shadow, trying to make sure he’s included! So cute!!)

THE PAT. Two of Sonic’s fingers are lifted up here, which he then uses to give Shadow a light tap on the arm. THE AFFECTION. THE OBVIOUS CARE AND FRIENDLINESS IN THIS ONE SIMPLE ACTION. SONIC CARES ABOUT SHADOW SO OBVIOUSLY IT HURTS ME TO WATCH. MY HEART. No matter how many times Shadow puts up walls, Sonic smashes them down. After all, Shadow doesn’t get to be the only one who does things like keeping Sonic safe or helping him stay grounded! Sonic’s not going to pretend those things just didn’t happen—Shadow cares about him in his own awkward, emotionally constipated way, and Sonic is reciprocating. You can’t stop him, Shadow!

I’m skipping the smear frame here, just because Sonic and Shadow basically pop up and right into this position. Sonic’s two fingers come out of the tap/pat and straight into the peace sign, and now he’s smiling even more than he was at the start of this whole thing. His eyes are all big and shiny too—he’s clearly very happy to have introduced Shadow, and perhaps also quite happy that he’s getting this moment of prolonged physical contact with Shadow. Now, while Shadow’s shoulder is still kind of smushed upwards, which could indicate stress in another circumstance, it seems to me here that this is mainly because Sonic’s hand is pulling it upwards slightly. (Although, I’m afraid it does appear to be the case that Sonic and Shadow are approximately the same height in Prime—remember, Shadow’s ears aren’t as perky right now as Sonic’s, and the ears are really the only height difference between them here.) Shadow’s expression, however, is honestly quite neutral. Despite his previous discomfort (part of which, I just realized, could be because Sonic essentially was pushing him off balance. Shadow was tilted pretty far to his left, which could be a little awkward of a position to be in, especially for an extended period of time), he doesn’t look bothered at all, instead just quietly existing in this situation. Most of the irritability in his expression comes from his angular eyes and his aforementioned “resting grumpy face”, honestly.

(I couldn’t find any gif that includes this next part—probably because the camera cuts away from Sonic and Shadow here for a moment to show the general confusion of the Shatterverse folks—but when it cuts back, Shadow is still standing there with Sonic’s arm around him. Heck, he looks willing to continue standing there for however long Sonic stays next to him, only pulling away when Nine comes back and makes noise, reminding everyone that we’re in the middle of a battle for everyone’s survival here. And when he does pull away, Sonic is dragged with him, which is probably mostly for laughs, but does also imply that a) he was holding onto Shadow pretty tightly and b) he wasn’t expecting to have to let go even AFTER Nine made himself known.)

This post is long enough already (and I drafted it when I could've been going to sleep, because the force of Sonadow infected me), so I won't be doing the "Shadow saves Sonic" scene just yet (unless a lot of people want to see that). For now, though, thanks for bearing with me throughout my descent into madness over these two. Starting with the black rose pirates they are all adults and because I'm a sucker for these three old men and their weird ass dynamic there's possible old gay yaoi

Arlin takes care of both Chip and Lizzie and quite frankly it's the healthiest relationship in this whole au next to Clarence and William or Vyncent and The Greats. Arlin is a retired hero, forcibly retired due to an injury that left him unable to continue the harsh lifestyle of a hero. Lizzie and Chip were adopted by him and currently they're all living a very quaint small life near a shipping dock. Nothing bad is going to happen to them yet, they get to be happy for a while. Lizzie is older than Chip by like two years.

Fin is in custody of Edyn and used to be in custody of Gillion as well , to make it sort of fit within the universe of prime defenders , Gil was basically hand picked by a niche local superhero group and was trained by them there on they basically instilled that's classic " Be a hero no matter the stakes even if it costs you your life " mentality in him and then just kind of threw him back to Fin. And now he's struggling to keep one kid safe and the other is growing up right in front of him, ( and none of this hero training was legal in any form or fashion they did just grab Gillion he went missing for like 4 years and was suddenly back)

Drey is also complicated but that's because he doesn't t have any kids of his own he's an uncle but before he and Jayson had a falling out he was regularly looking out for Jayson's kids ( he has like four in this au) but after the falling out he basically went rouge and kind of picked up vigilante work that leaned more towards villainous. Eventually he found Arlin and Fin and slowly quit working as a vigilante to settle down with them. And help kinda take care of their kids.

Moving on to the albitrio proper

Jay didn't grow up in the soundest of families her father was very strict harsh and as much as I hate to say it violent towards his kids that didn't excel in training, being one of the pretty close in power scaling to the Prime force he took pride in that and wanted his children to either outshine him and be on par. Jay was pretty lackluster she gained that Ferin fire but it wasn't much to really excel or do much so she took up mechanics she's currently just trying to do her best in school hoping to win some sort of approval from her father

Chip grew up hearing stories about heroes and of course he wanted to be one because Arlin was one. Even as a middle schooler he kind of kept it close. Now he's nowhere near Dakota levels of a super fan , he doesn't even have powers but he wants to help, so he turns to vigilante work, and stopping small petty crime. However he knows that if he does become a hero he wants to be a pirate.

Gil like I mentioned earlier is very "I must be a hero in every aspect of my life even if it means throwing away my life" thanks to the underground superhero group, he's a little traumatized but refuses to speak on it and as much as he loves Fin he wishes his grandfather would let him do what he was built for !.

My Introduction Post!!!

Hello, everyone! I'm Garnet Skyesor, 21 years old, and my dream is to become a Gym Leader in my home region of Hoenn! I'm . . . not entirely sure how to GET there yet, but I'm doing my best to figure it out!

Back when I was 13, I did the Gym Challenge here in Hoenn, and actually got all the badges! I never ended up going to the league, though . . . it just didn't work out. But I made a lot of friends along the way, who've stayed with me all these years!

My squad is:

Skipper the Swampert, my awesome starter. He's a pretty calm guy, but helped carry me hard.

Endeavor the Gardevoir, the absolute QUEEN. She will not hesitate to mess you up if you mess with my guys.

Linear the Linoone, I originally named him Ziz but then realized "wait that's kinda stupid" and he agreed so we changed it. He's pretty good at helping me navigate out in the wild!

Quartz the Sableye, she's a bit odd but pretty fun. I didn't use her much during the Gym Challenge, but she was still pretty helpful!

Tory the Torkoal and Elec the Manectric--these two are actually parents to the wonderful Tory Jr, also a Torkoal! Tory is a fairly calm and wise mother, while Elec is a fun-loving energetic father. Tory Jr is fairly stubborn but sweet, and likes to follow me around.

Grassel the Wynaut, named after my old Math Teacher. He (my teacher) really liked making puns, so I named this silly little lad in his honor.

Amy the Skarmory, my super-fast flyer and a pretty dependable messenger! She's pretty sharp, like her feathers, but also really silly.

Minos the (SHINY!) Tauros, who I found on a short trip to Kanto about a year after my gym run. He's surprisingly silly for a Tauros, but we all enjoy his company, and he likes to help give me rides when I need it.

Scenario: new year with you

The door slammed open with a loud bang that shocked you, who is sitting on the couch.

"I'm back, babe!" He shouted with a loud voice that made you irritated. You've grown irritated because this boyfriend of yours has been so busy with his work that all your plans have been cancelled last minute everytime by him. This day, you wanted to spend your time with him and welcome the coming of a new year. It was already 8pm, there's still time but you couldn't help to feel neglected especially since you prepared for this day in hopes he will come home early. Those heart wrenching feelings, however, turned to irritation the moment his stupidly handsome face showed up.

"It's late." You said sternly, standing in front of him with your ams crossed in disbelief.

"Aww, sorry baby. Did you miss me?" Gojo sighed apologetically, embracing you with his firm arms. He snuggled you in his warm embrace, kissing at your cheek repeatedly. "I've been so busy... I barely had the chance to see you and it made me sooooo sad~~" He picked you up and swirled you around, being playful.

It ticked you off.

You struggled and he let go of you immediately. You huffed and made you way to the couch where the dishes you've prepared was laid out on the coffee table. Gojo frowned sadly, following you. His eyes dart off to the things you've prepared and he sighed with a smile. He sat next to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.

"I'm sorry... Don't hate me, please." Gojo gently snaked his arms around your waist, placing his forehead on your shoulder. He rummaged through his pockets, taking out a ring box. He held it on your lap, now having you positioned between his legs. He opened it with a flick of his finger. A beautiful pair of rings sat between the soft cushion, one was larger than the other. Your heart skipped a beat as he took your left hand and inserted the smaller one to your ring finger.

Gojo held out his left hand in front of you. "Hey, do it for me too~" You sighed, taking the bigger ring and inserted it to his ring finger. He chuckled... Creepily? Weirdly? But anyway, it didn't care because you can see the tint of red on his cheeks as you looked at him.

"Tsk, be thankful you have that handsome face." You went ahead and turned to face him, sitting on his lap, then cupping his cheeks on your hands. He looked at you with those beautiful blue eyes of his, shining as he looked at you dearly.

He snickered, "So you think I'm handsome?~" He placed his hands on top of yours, grinning ear to ear. Suddenly, Gojo tackled you, once again trapping you again in his hug, squeezing tight. He rested his head on the crook the crook of your neck.

Gojo always felt at ease whenever he's around you. His worries suddenly flies away, rendering him helpless as an exaggeration. In each day, you're the one he thinks about. When he has to cancel your plans, all he could do was sulk all day at the thought of you feeling neglected. When he's too far away from you, he gets worried and drained out of his system.

"You're someone that matters to me now, got that?" Gojo kissed you cheek, tightening his hold around you, securing the world in his arms. His world. You. "Aaah~~ I wish I could stay at home with you forever~"

You scoffed, "You can't do that. What will they say when you went missing? You're the strongest, after all." You looked at his pouting face. A small smile crept up your lips. "But if anything, I'll always be here for you." You reached up, kissing him on the lips, taking him by surprise. Gojo was filled with awe, his heart thumping loudly in his chest.

Gojo hugged you again tightly, then relaxed looking at your face again. He smiled at you, "I love you." He paused, emphasizing his words. "So much."

You smiled at him and replied, "I love you more."

He huffed, "I love you most. Don't try to beat me out of it."

You chuckled, "So competitive for someone who was came home late."

Your innocent banters went on, but you both enjoyed the rest of the night. As the clock striked 12, you both shared a kiss as the fireworks went off.

"Happy new year, babe."

I’m currently lining/Coloring/ generally digitizing a Comic I sketched out for a fictional SoN scene that is loosely re-imagining related and let me tell you.

i HATE Tyrian purple with a passion. Literally like- it’s so icky and gross. This is purely my opinions and everything, but from what I could see us as a collective society view this,

As Tyrian purple. This maroon color! This is so gross. If I had a burn book let it be known the first entry would be dedicated to how most warm toned purples are so gross to look at. There’s a reason why whenever I draw any Camp Jupiter t-shirt it is drawn as being a cool-toned purple. And that is because I like looking at cool toned purples, they are pleasing to the eye. They do not look grating like these!

All this to say that I make all of Octavian’s CJ shirts in most comics and stuff actual closer (not fully Tyrian purple because I genuinely hate it) to Tyrian purple compared to all his companions. He physically goes out of his way to dye his shirts because it’s a true Roman’s purple. Oh and it’s probably authentic too. His family has cash to spare so of course it is.

This is my formal explanation as to the reason Octavian and maybe Reyna will be the only ones running around with Tyrian purple or anything that is not a blue-purple or washed out cool toned purple shirt. Everyone else’s shirts are the original dark purple color if they are fresher, or are lighter and stuff due to the sun bleaching them or however sun bleach works. They’ve been outside long enough and unlike Octavian don’t periodically re-bleach or buy new ones. Also Reyna gets to be in it because like… Important head of the legion stuff.

Anyway the comic will probably be finished and posted at some point :3 it’s a little long and definitely a rough draft but it has some silly artwork when I got a little looser with it soooo-

Next OMFG WHAT WAS THE SECOND HALF OF THIS CHAPTER I THOUGH (as did many others) THAT LOCKHARTS DUELLING CLUB WOULD BE SIMILAR TO CANNON LIKE A SNAKE!!!!

(I do now see that was a stupid thought as in canon Draco casts that at Harry after snape tells him what spell to use so that situation couldn’t possibly happen here BUT STILL)

also I’m slightly worried for the welfare of Percy Weasley he was not particularly subtle and I’m sure dazai picked up on it AND Dazai already knows someone is trailing him sooooooo.

OK BUT THE MEAT OF THIS CHAPTER WAS OFC DAZAI V PANSY

and the way it was written like * chefs kiss * I love the pacing of the whole interaction and I SOMEHOW even though I HATE PANSY felt bad for her in this scene

like before she starts the duel she is shaking not from fear but anger and upset she’s worried about her friends also SHE SHOUKD BE LIKE DAZAI WOULDN’T HURT THEM ON PURPOSE BUT MORI????

and his altercation with Lockhart is more or less the same as they always are except for the fact that dazai is leaning in to the role of villain more

Also when he was feeling guilty about Poppy it broke my fucking heart bro like he doesn’t understand what he’s feeling but like aaaaaaa poor little dazai

but um the way he low-key high-key BROKE PANSYS ARM WITH ONE HAND LIKE SIR??????? I mean she did try to set him on fire but like-

HER ARM REALLY YOU COULDNT OF JUST DISSARMED HER YOU HAD TO BREACK HER ARM

also um BLASE ISTG MY BOY DAZAI NEEDS SUPPORT YOU BETTER NOT BE LEAVING HIM FOR PANSY

but that scene made me feel physically sick (AND I am NOT squeamish person)

And just omg I need to rant more but this post is hella long already

in short the way this fic fleshes out characters and scenes and is written is just so SO perfect like aaaaa
