A slightly problematic headcanon I have is that Papyrus would really like the puzzle piece symbol to represent autism because he's autistic, he loves puzzles, and he loves the idea of being a puzzle to solve. Sans would have to sit him down and gently explain why that symbol is Bad, and while Papyrus doesn't fully understand, he does disavow the symbol for the harm it brings. But deep down, he still uses it to represent himself, and it brings him quite a bit of shame.

Transfem reading of Papyrus because I can and want to. Her behavior reminds me of closeted trans women who try to cling onto some sense of masculinity before confronting the truth of their gender. For example, her flair for showmanship, her tendency to boss people around, her loudness especially are all traits that are expected from men. It would make sense that she would try to emulate what a "proper man" should act like. Her interests such as racecars, action figures, and battling, plus her desire to join the Royal Guard, while they are real to an extent, can also be seen as an extension of the need to perform masculinity.

Even then, her core traits, the ones that have the most impact on the player, are ones that are traditionally associated with women. Her graceful control of magic to the point she is the only monster who literally can't kill you, her sheer optimism that never fails to see the good in everyone, her unending kindness, these are all traditionally feminine traits. Her admiration for Undyne is not just because Undyne is the coolest role model she could have, but it is also because she is an aspirational woman to look up to. Hell, so many people including the fandom itself constantly undermining and infantilizing her, branding her as naïve despite the fact she is actually really smart and knows more than she lets on is a textbook struggle that women, especially trans women, face on a daily basis.

What strike me most are the isolation that she experiences and her reluctance to admit to her true feelings. She doesn't have many friends, struggles a lot with making them in the first place, and has trouble picking up social cues or norms. While this can allude to her having autism (and I do read her behavior as also being autistic traits), it can also allude to her transness as a lot of trans women struggle with socialization due to transmisogyny and lack of community. The real stinger though is in her tendency to hide her feelings, most notably shown in her pre-battle dialogue where she projects her feelings of loneliness unto Frisk. The battle armor that she wears is both a symbol of masculinity that she refuses to take off and a symbol of the confidence that she puts up in order to hide her vulnerability and insecurity.

However—and this is the crucial part—once she discovers herself and starts transitioning, she doesn't lose these traits apart from the ones that are hurting her self-esteem. If there is one thing that she is, it is unapologetically being herself, and I believe she won't change too drastically in personality. Except this time, the need to be a man falls away. In its place, her genuineness shines, and all of these traits just... become her now. Now she is more comfortable being herself. Most importantly, she is truly happy.

Also she replaces half of her wardrobe with dresses and skirts. That one is important too.

a few nights ago lotus and poison, iconic performers and trans women, were viciously attacked at legends gay nightclub. nobody intervened in a supposed community space. please help cover their medical expenses and show them they are not alone. they were absolutely let down, and what kind of community doesn't help its most vulnerable? consider showing them support both emotionally and financially after this dual trauma of abuse and neglect.

in order to unlearn racism u have to be willing to accept that u are racist. it’s not a bad thing to want to change for the better. it’s not a bad thing to say hey, the way i’ve been acting is racist and i don’t want to be racist anymore. when people of color are telling u ways in which u have been racist, it’s actually not cool to brush it off and say, well i didn’t mean it that way.. u actually have to make an effort to stop doing those things if u want to be able to actually say ur anti-racist. u can’t just say ur not racist because u don’t wanna be seen as racist. that’s not how unlearning racism works.

Remember that even good changes can make us feel depressed, because, as creatures of habit, we're resistant to change. That doesn't mean that it wasn't the right choice.

I've been ever so slightly haunted by these two ever since the songs came out. I'm well aware of how the Deltarune girlies claimed these songs, but I still wanted to do an Undertale take especially since Static and Spoken For fit these two so friggin well gogh,

For Static!Papyrus specifically, I thought it'd be interesting if he is not only aware of the resets, he actually wants the player to reset. Because that would mean the player would spend more and more time with this game and therefore with him. So the player wouldn't leave for a little while longer... As for Spoken For!Mettaton, the song itself already matches his canon situation really well, so the only new addition here is that Mettaton gets the existential dread of being aware of resets. Yippee!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Does this count as Papyton? I say yes 'cause I kinda ship them shjkhkfshl either way they're both kinda. going through it, but at least they're going through it together! <3 They were actually holding hands in the first sketch I did, but I. forgot to draw that </3 Oh well! Hopefully these sketches will suffice :P

maybe it's just me, but are there any other transfems out there that get a bit uncomfortable with like. the deificiation?

i do prefer it over demonization, but it feels like it's overcorrecting.
