masterpost on planetary remediation: 💪
planetary remediation is the process of doing specific activities to enhance a planet’s performance in your chart. in essence, doing things to strengthen your planets and make them happier
there are a lot of ways to remediate your planets and improve their function in the chart — here's a brief list of remedial methods for each of the seven traditional planets and links to each of my videos on them !!
PLANETARY REMEDIATION TIPS:
the sun: wear more gold jewelry or yellow / orange clothing, make an effort to be more prideful, be accepting of compliments and praise when it's given to you, stay in touch with aspects of your childhood, make time for your hobbies
the moon: wear silver jewelry and pastel clothing (especially baby or sky blue), wear accessories / decorate your home with items that relate to the ocean, let yourself be vulnerable, write down your dreams and try to understand them more, allow yourself to be taken care of by others
mercury: wear silver or mixed metal jewelry, wear green clothing and consume more green food, be a thoughtful speaker and listener, be good to small animals and provide for them, get involved with literature
venus: wear more brass or copper jewelry, wear clothing that's soft and comfortable (make sure they're not too tight or heavy), do things that make you feel beautiful and valuable, be kind and generous to others, make sure that you have an artistic outlet for yourself
mars: wear stainless steel jewelry, wear more red clothing or makeup, dye your hair red, move your body in a way that feels good to you, incorporate more heat or spice into your daily routine, be assertive when the time calls for it
jupiter: wear pewter charms or jewelry, decorate your space with objects made of pewter, wear more yellow clothing, keep things that remind you of your closest relationships, interrogate your own beliefs regularly, make a habit out of prayer or some other type of spiritual practice
saturn: avoid putting on too much jewelry or being too flashy, wear black and deep blue clothing, use more oils in your day-to-day life if you can, be a responsible person and be intentional about fulfilling your promises, take care of your bones and joints

PLANETARY POSITION IN A HOROSCOPE TO BE A BEGGAR
Question Asked : What is the planetary position in a horoscope to be a beggar.
My views : This indeed a very good question and I would love to express my view on the same.
In order to understand one need to know about the basics of Vedic astrology first. Secondly my explanation is as per KP Vedic astrology, but still one can understand it.
In one’s horoscope we see the earning thru 2nd house wealth, 6th house service and 10th house profession. This same is for the career in general also but will little additional houses. Let’s not make the article complicated.
People earn thru various ways and one of the way is also begging.
Here we are not discussing on rich or poor beggar. Mind you that a beggar can be rich also.
Begging is unearned money as per astrology where a native does not do any effort or work / labor to earn money.
In Vedic astrology gambling, lottery, rent, commission is also termed as unearned money.
Begging is also unearned money . . .ha ha ha ha ha . . . .
The combination of planets which gives a person earned money is also same for the person begging.
When the 2nd, 6th and 10th house has strong connection with 8th house and the 8th house is also having connection with 2nd, 6th and 10th house a person will / can earn thru begging.
The individual having this combination can activate it thru their karma for begging, its free will.
Its free will because one can see many healthy beggars begging because they don’t want to work and so they choose begging as the best earning source for them. So, its free will action. ( genuine beggars are understood )
The rich and poor beggar are again deep study which involves many more parameters to study.
The healthy beggars are also a cheater as their 6th house connection 8th house and vise versa makes them a cheater and thus they cheat others to earn money.
Others are 7th house in the horoscope and 6th house is their 12th house of loss so they lose money by being cheated.
I hope readers got a small insight.

Vedic astrology teaches us that the movements of planets in the heavens can reveal much about events on Earth. One particular event, known as Angarak Yoga, occurs when the energetic planet Mars joins with the mysterious shadow planet, Rahu. This combination, especially the Angarak Yoga of 2024, is important for astrologers to understand due to its potential for both change and challenge. In the…

An introduction to planetary remediations :
Quick tips on planetary remediations:
I might be wrong but it worked for me so far, using the planetary exaltation to get inspired on how to make each planet better (yes, it works only for the 7 traditional planets tho).
Sun remediation ? Let's use Mars-related topics (since the Sun exalts in Aries, Mars ruled sign).
Moon remediation ? Let's use Venus-related topics (since the Moon exalts in Taurus, Venus ruled sign) but the difference with saturn remediation would be focusing on your relationships with others imo (not on self-care etc) : Saturn = inner work; Moon = external work.
Venus remediations should use Jupiter-related topics imo (since Venus exalts in Pisces, Jupiter ruled sign).
Mars remediations should use Saturn-related topics imo (since Mars exalts in Capricorn, Saturn ruled sign).
Jupiter remediations should use Moon-related topics (since Jupiter exalts in Cancer, Moon ruled sign).
Saturn remediations should use Venus-related topics (since Saturn exalts in Libra, Venus ruled sign).

the traditional planets and clothing: 👚
earlier, i wrote a tweet about wearing leather shoes as a form of planetary remediation while saturn moves through pisces !!
(what is planetary remediation ?)
so here’s a general list of qualities associated with the traditional planets that you can use for your own remedial purposes:
the sun: dramatic, bedazzled or shiny, attention grabbing, royal-looking, humorous
the moon: reflective, comfortable, fluffy, fleece, worn around the house, nostalgic or memorial
mercury: breathable and lightweight, gloves, many pockets, easy to move in, anything with words on it
venus: smooth, natural fabrics, rounded shapes, soft, floral, fur-lined, luxurious, elegant
mars: spiky, rugged, distressed or torn, athletic clothing, any headwear, face masks, reptilian
jupiter: exaggerated silhouettes, multiple colors, puffy, cartoonish shapes and patterns
saturn: square and geometric shapes, vintage, leather, metallic, long-lasting, formal wear
if you have any questions, let me know in the replies :)

The humans said "We sent our very best to the stars."
Well we looked at what they sent: And thought, if that's their best, what are their worst like? They were scavengers and opportunists, fast talking con artists, barely restrained psychopaths with mayhem on their mind.
Honestly we were expecting the worst: That 'human' would be a curse word, that we'd have to root them out painfully and banish them back to their dirty heavy world.
But they cleaned up Antichor. They dredged the oceans, got the ecosystem back up, cleaned the mine lakes, remediated the sludge swamps, turned the hulks into gleaming ingots.
"We knew how. We had the experience." They said.
The humans started showing up in the weirdest places. Conflicts of all sorts... and they always had questions. "Why are you doing this? What if tehy did this. What if you did that?" And it was so odd - Within weeks of the Humans showing up, common ground would be found, or reasons to get along would appear.
"Well, we're used to it. We know how to deal with conflict." They said.
And the human liars, dressed in bedazzling clothes, singing and laughing... They spun lies! For entertainment! Of better worlds, and drama, of excitement, of adventure. Thay made such spectacles - Fire in the sky of a thousand colours - smoke and lasers, costumes and music, feats of synchronised movement the Civil Worlds had barely imagined could be performed by any being let lone these strange humans...
"We know how to have a good time!" They said.
When there was a nasty little war of expansion over on the Veran worlds, we thought we'd be barely in time to document the mass graves and the scraps of planetary genocide. Expansion wars are the worst of crimes but what can you do? The settlers who are squatting on the graves of the people who came before aren't usually the ones who ordered the invasion or carried it out. And there's always some justification that can be argued over for centuries: none of which brings the dead back.
We were horrified to find the Human fleet there. Finally proof that the Humans were the worst sort of mercenary.
But the ships had aid: Shelters and food. Medical personnel. And those that did fight did so under strange rules that allowed for surrenders and retreats in good faith.
The Verans talked of the Arnath Invasion fleet: Unstoppable, claiming thier worlds before they even landed, their leaders ranting and cursing those who lived there - But then the Humans arriving like heroes of legend, in flame clad dropships, spending their lives hard, making the Arnath throw incredible effort to get nowhere... Of the mighty Rangers, each one a hero. The Bulwark infantry who wouldn't yield a single step until the civilians had been evacuated. The Medical teams as caring as any, who'd stand and fight as hard as a soldier to protect their patients.
And even before we arrived, the Arnath were losing - Humans arriving on their world and asking "Why?". Arguing with the Archons with the skill of philosophers, litigating on behalf of the Verans with cunning arguments. The clowns and entertainers with unexpected savagery, showing the population their own "heroic" soldiers burning crops and firing on children, turning the population against thier bloody handed leaders.
The soldiers returning, not hailed as heroes, their crimes documented.
"We know these crimes. We won't stand for them." The humans said.
And we started to wonder... what else did they know?
What we know now is... you can always ask the Humans, because they always send their best.

PLANETARY ASPECTS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY
Let’s us understand the aspect first in non-technical way and then astrologically.
When we were in school then one can always remember that there was a teacher who speaks very less but his / her eyes use to speak.
When we use to talk then his / her one glance on us was like warning to stop talking and pay attention in class lecture.
So here one can understand that the aspect of the teacher on the student change the behavior of that student and draw his attention towards the lecture and the student stop misbehaving as he is under the aspect of the teacher’s attention.
When we go in any ashram or any holy places then if any saint or yogi see us then we feel blessed and happy in our heart because we got caught by the sight / dristi of a holy person.
We get scared when any criminal sees us and we get tension and worry as they can harm us.
In the same way in planetary aspects of Vedic astrology all the planets are have 7th aspect / dristi but there are few special planet which have some extra dristi / aspect apart from the regular 7th aspect.
Mars got 4th , 7th and 8th aspect.
Saturn got 3rd, 7th and 10th aspect.
Jupiter got 5th , 7th and 9th aspect.
Mars and Saturn are malefic planet and Jupiter is benefic planet in Vedic astrology.
The nature of functional benefic and malefic keeps on changing as per the position of the horoscope. According to KP Vedic astrology the significances decide the functionality of a planet.
So, a planet with good significance aspecting a weak negative planet will strengthen that planet to perform positively and minimize the negativity of it and vise versa.
When a planet aspect on another planet then it also imparts its qualities on that planet and thus change its usual normal nature, be it positive or negative in either ways.
The aspects of the planet give its impact on the houses also, be it positive or negative.
Let’s understand with an example :
It is seen that Saturn in 5th house of a vedic horoscope delay or deny marriage. Saturn being a very big planet does have the capability to give such impact.
It is known that Saturn has 3 aspects / dristi i.e the 3rd, 7th and the 10th. When Saturn is positioned in 5th house then its 3rd aspect is on 7th house which is house of marriage, the 7th aspect is on 11th house which is know as the house of fulfillment of wishes and the 10th aspect is on 2nd house which signify family in a horoscope.
So due to Saturn’s aspect / dristi on the 7th house of the horoscope it creates hurdles and thus delay the matter of marriage or completely deny it. ( this is in general, an observation )
Saturn’s aspect / dristi on the 11th house delay the wishes or completely deny the wish.
Saturn’s aspect / dristi on the 2nd house delay in making a family or deny for making a new family or adding a member to the family.
Like wise there are positive effects also from the aspects.
Readers should understand that Vedic astrology is very very complex subject and aspect / dristi is one of the parameters while making an analysis for a prediction so one should not jump with the gun only by studying the aspects.
Delhi abhi bhi bahut dur hai / Katmandu is very far. This is a dialogue and not Vedic astrology ha ha ha ha ha . . . . . .

↻ PLANETARY STRENGTH AND DOMINANCE IN THE VEDIC CHART : SHADBALA
basics of vedic astrology. ask box. masterlist.
note: this is one of those posts i would recommend reading in its entirety before exploring planetary dominance and remedial measures. there is nothing unnecessary. understanding shadbala is the only thing you need to understand your planets' strength. once you do, there is no longer any need to consider combustion, retrograde, certain degree, exaltation, etc. shadbala already considers it and calculates it for you !
calculation of planetary strength in vedic astrology is done via shadbala; as the name suggests, shadbala means six fold strength.
although these strengths are combinedly used for finding the effect of planets on the lives of the natives, there is more use of the strengths and we get the clue of those uses from their names. these strengths need not be used only predicting the results of the dasa, however, can be used for normal interpretation for the native's nature. learning how to calculate is not mandatory, and using a shadbala calculator is recommended.
i will be referencing a random chart with the following results: date of birth: 2nd august, 2000 time of birth: 3:18 PM place of birth: delhi, india
by understanding the basics of shadbala, one can identify their weak planets. often times, our most favourable planets our devoid of strength and the malefics ones are strong, leading to an intense misbalance, bestowing misfortune in life. by identifying these planets, we know what remedies to do and what habits to forsake.
additionally, the strength of certain planets strongly influences the personality and it is important to analyse it.
note: shadbala does not show which planet is favourable or unfavourable, it is only used to calculate planetary strength.
shadbala consists of the following 6 strengths: (positional strength
sthana bala (positional strength) : the planet having the highest value of sthana bala is the giver of position and status. this also shows which positions are most auspicious for us and where we are most comfortable.
dig bala (directional strength) : this shows the direction which shall be good for us for growth in the career or self development. moving towards the direction represented by the benefic planet having the strongest shadbala in chart, or facing in that direction while working on important things is highly favourable.
kaal bala (temporal strength) : this shows which time is best suitable for us for undertaking any activity. benefic planet having strongest kaalbala bestows a favourable time period to work in.
chesht bala (motional strength) : this shows what drives us, our inherent desires and purpose of our struggle in this life. this is not associated with the atmakaraka. this, i feel, is often of more karmic nature and can be best understood by the native themselves. for eg, i have jupiter as the strongest planet in chest bala, and from a young age i have been attracted to lord vishnu. in spite of my own flaws, i never go against dharma or what is considered the doctrine of proper conduct.
naisargika bala (natural strength) : this is of lesser consequence as this remains constant all through out. this is to be used in conjunction with other strengths. this indicates which planets are naturally more able to dictate their results. in a stellium, the planet having higher virupas will have more say in the overall influence of the stellium's interpretation.
drik bala (aspectual strength) : this shows which planet shall be favourable all through out in the life of native as this is based on the aspect of benefics on the planet. this indicates how powerful an aspect from a planet will be. say saturn is opposite to mars, but saturn has a comparatively stronger aspect than mars. this will slow down the energy of mars, as well and make the person's anger slow to come by nature. a debilitated saturn's aspects will make the anger unpredictable.
IMPORTANT POINT
390, 360, 300, 420, 390, 330 and 300 virupa are the shadbala strength needed for sun, moon, mars, mercury, jupiter, venus and saturn respectively. if the strength exceeds the above-mentioned values, the planet is deemed to be very strong. for comparing the strength of various planets that are very strong or very weak, use percentages.
↪ basics end. example case ahead :
for eg, in the referenced chart:
moon is the planet having the highest points of sthana bala, which means of all planets, it is most comfortable where it sits. when a planet becomes comfortable, it's influence on the house increases.
now, we begin to analyse some crucial points. is moon a benefic for this native? considering that sun and moon are fairly far away from each other, moon is not a malefic by those standards (amavasya / new moon is ALWAYS a malefic. this is when moon comes extremely close to the sun, so them being close in the chart is the indicator of a new moon. it is only bad when moon becomes combust by sun, though (within 15 degrees of the sun).
benefics and malefics for each of the ascendants:
the native is a scorpio ascendant, so only a cancer moon would have been problematic. but it is in leo, the sun's sign. sun and moon are friendly planets, so moon sitting in a house which has sun's lordship is good. sun and moon are also forming an amazing raja yoga here, as well.
finally, since moon and venus are close to each other, we see which planet is winning the planetary war. we go to naisargika bala next to identify which planet dominates.
moon has a comparatively higher value than venus, so it wins!
conclusion: because the moon is a benefic, and has higher value of shadbala than venus, as well as naisargika bala, it dominates in influencing the 10th house. so now, when this person tries understanding their 10th house for career determination, they can be certain that their career is going to be deeply influenced by lunar themes. because the moon is also involved in a raja yoga and various other beneficial yogas, the career will be very fruitful for this native. venus's aspect is also extremely lucky, and the native is going to earn a lot from their career.
now, say this person wants to expand their career's scope as much as they possibly can. they want to do remedial procedures to ensure the blessings of the planets, for as the shastras say: 'no graha may harm the native who worships them with devotion.'
therefore, they start pinning the planets that are directly related to their 10th house. the moon, the sun, and venus.
we have seen that moon is in good dignity and supports the native, so we leave it. a beneficial planet is a strength, it is the weaknesses that we must target. so now we find the dignity of sun and venus.
now let's start with venus. it sits in the sun's house, and is a functional malefic for this native, because they are a scorpio ascendant. venus rules over 7th and 12th house, so it a malefic. so, venus is overall a malefic planet.
now, from the shadbala graph we see that not only is venus the weakest, but is also weaker than moon in the naisargikabala graph, which is amazing news for the native. if venus, being a malefic, had been strong instead, the native would have to do remedial measures to please venus. luckily it is weak, so it is not mandatory.
although venus, being the significator of the hindu goddess of wealth, shri lakshmi, is always pleased by offerings and prayers. it is good to be in his good grace, although if favourable when benefic or weak when malefic, one does not have to go out of their way to ensure it.
now let's come to the sun. sun is a house under the rulership of moon, it's extreme friend. this is excellent, as well as it is in the 9th house, so it is a benefic as well. sun is sitting with mars, a neutral planet (for this native), so it is well. hence, sun is a benefic.
in the shadbala chart, sun is extremely strong because it has over 390 virupas. additionally, it easily dominates mars because it has the highest points in the naisargika bala chart. so, sun, a benefic, is also strong and well placed.
excellent. a status check:
moon: benefic, strong.
venus: malefic, weak.
sun: benefic, extremely strong.
now, concluding this we arrive to the decision that this person does not need any remedies for their sun, moon and venus. their career is fated in the stars, blessed as though by the gods themselves. how fortunate!
repeating this procedure on all planets, we finally arrive at the conclusion that venus and mercury are the functional malefics for this chart (also shown in the table). of them, mercury becomes the greater malefic because it is placed in the 8th house close to rahu. this is a nightmare for the princely mercury!
now, checking the shadbala chart we see that mercury is also the strongest among all planets. so, status check:
venus: weak malefic
mercury: strongly malefic. also the atmakaraka of this native.
now, mercury becomes the achilles' heel of this native. it is not only strongly malefic and badly placed, but is also the atmakaraka. in a way, it will keep an eye on all aspects of the chart and influence all sectors.
ak being a malefic planet is usually rather bothersome and can create unnecessary hurdles in one's life. due to this, it is extremely important to do remedial measures to please mercury.
CONCULSIONS
this is the conclusion of the shadbala post. using all the details that have been mentioned in this post, a native can identify their malefic / benefic planet and their strength and what aspects of themselves to work on most.
following this post is a vedic remedies post, and concluding the result you gain from this post, you can refer to that for remedies.
NOTE the shadbala calculator takes in consideration various doshas like mangal dosha, kaala sarpa dosha, neecha bhagya dosha etc so you need not fret about them. simply apply the procedure as i have shown, and arrive at the conclusion. you don't have to worry about combust, retrograde, 0 degree or any degree planets for that matter since the calculations include all of it.
the two planets having the highest value of shadbala can be considered as your dominant planet, as well. i will also follow this up with a 'traits of the planetary dominants' post.

Nakshatras that share the same sign and are located close to one another often have major similarities. The key difference lies in their secondary planetary energy and their unique modes of action.
Ashwini - Bharani, both located in the sign of Aries, are deeply connected to themes of youthfulness and renewal. Ashwini represents the consciousness before life (unconscious) and the void of self awareness after being born, reflecting its rulership by Ketu, which symbolizes are raw primal selves and detachment. In contrast, Bharani signifies the cycle of life and death and the beauty found within the painful process of transformation, governed by Venus, the planet of beauty and sensuality. The difference between them lies in their approach to rejuvenation and self-care. Ashwini, with its focus on healing and vitality, might resonate more with herbal-based remedies, like natural ingredients based skin care and vitamin supplements because of their deities being forever youthful herbalist healers. Bharani, however, may align with more intensive or transformative methods, such as Botox or microneedling, reflecting its Venusian inclination toward enduring beauty through refinement and reinvention.
Hasta - Chitra, both situated in the sign of Virgo, are associated with craftsmanship and brilliance, but they approach creation in distinct ways. Hasta is driven by mental energy, acting as an observer and gatherer of ideas. It blends practicality with spirituality, focusing on manifesting thoughts into tangible forms. Ruled by the Moon, Hasta excels in intellectual and expressive arts, such as poetry and calligraphy, capturing its perceptions of the world through introspection and detail. Chitra, on the other hand, represents the materialization of these manifestations, uncovering the mysteries behind creation. Ruled by Mars, with the influence of Mercury, Chitra brings a dynamic combination of energy and intellect, focusing on physical expression. It shines in fields like photography and architecture, showcasing its vision of the world in practical yet aesthetically stunning forms. While Hasta is more introspective and conceptual, Chitra is action-oriented, translating thought into striking physical creations.
