By the time the Aurora crashed 4546B must’ve been some kind of strange anomaly to anybody at home interested enough in space to do deepdives, like a kind of creepypasta or unexplained mystery.
More below cut.
I mean we by that point already have 3 crashed ships, if not 4, the Mercury II, the Degasi, The Aurora and the Sunbeam.
And those are only the ones we know of because either the remnants of the ships are still visible or we get audio logs detailing of them, there are probably dozens of more ships in the crash zone, which covers the remaining 90% of the planets surface so it’s not hard to believe. Especially with just how little space sector 0 and the crater actually cover compared to the sheer amount of documented ships there.
Humans have been able to travel to this planets distance for centuries judging by the Mercury II. So it’s probably turned into some kind of captains tale, the planet around wich ships just mysteriously go missing, the cases never resolved as any ships that dared to follow met a similar fate, no matter the size or importance of the vessel. Because the missing persons cases are always documented, as we know from the Aurora actively making a detour to search for the missing degasi members, maybe not publically, but word would definitely get out and be twisted into some form of folktale I bet.
Groups of People and entire ships disappearing the second they come too close to the planets atmosphere, and have been for what appears to have been, again, centuries.
I mean only accounting for the ships we know of in game the missing persons cases are already in the hundreds, now think about how many ships we don’t even know about.
I mean clearly alterra and the other transgovs know of 4546Bs existence, and the missing persons cases around the planet, they just never bothered or as far as I can tell made it public knowledge. But on the other hand it’s not like it was a top secret, I think anybody in universe that would’ve done some digging would’ve probably been met with the subnautica equivalent of true crime / drama / conspiracy theory YouTube channels reporting on “the mystery surrounding Planet 4546B” or something haha.
Just some food for thought. Maybe somebody wants to use this for world building or some specific scene in like a fanfic or something. I just thought it would be fun to think about.
#subnautica#subnautica below zero#video game fandom#fanfic ideas#video game rant#subnautica theory#subnautica aurora#subnautica au#subnautica degasi#I find these kind of things so interesting#like imagine a fanfic where Ryley goes back to earth and looks up 4546B to see if there has been any public statement made#but it’s all just conspiracy channels talking about some weird folklore surrounding the planet#obviously this doesn’t work with anything post first game as alterra obviously took over the planet#but still!

i have to be honest having never finished below zero as much as i thoguht it was cool if 3 is a continuation of that story rather than something new on 4546b i will be disappointed... i would much prefer more expansion of the planets ecosystems + biodiversity + history rather than all the architect stuff... it was really interesting just not what im here for
#et cetera#i much much preferred the first game having all the lore and backstories and everything be like... almost secondary#the stuff w the other survivors + the previous ship i can never rememeber how to spell it and learning about the#architectsand their history on the planet but not being Involved in any of that#i just really enjoyed it that way. idk#and i love the world its on already... i love 4546b i would love to see more of it

Naturally the skittish precursor picks up on the mood shift as soon as the architect approached the counter, he had hoped the complete this transaction with the younger male human, as the female had displayed a rather hostile disposition towards the uncertain architect on multiple previous occassions.
Furthermore
Much to his frustration every order Al-an had placed with her had been canceled in way or another, sometimes hours before their expected delivery!
This occured far too often to be dimissed as mere happenstance.
He did not seek to cause a scene, drawing attention to himself was not a wise decision, he was well aware that his specie's presence on earth's relays were considered a novelty, and could easily draw far too much attention if he was not careful, his familiarity with the species of earth was admittedly below par at best, perhaps he was failing some kind of human social prompt or challenge.
Whatever the case the precursor needed to precure living specimens to balance out the planet's lacking population before routine surveys were conducted.
This catastrophe needed to be rectified as soon as possible.
But this was proving to be more of a feat then the unprepared precursor was prepared for.
Al-an's face rippled with an agitated sour yellow as he noticed the female smoothly switch places with the younger employee, ushering him from behind the counter, directing him in a pleasent but authoritative tone to distribute supplements amongst the exotic fauna.
Pleasantries that perhaps were not seemingly spared for off worlders.
"What do you need?" Was her choice of a blith greeting, one that may as well had been a warning not to trespass.
Ah, this hostility.
Al-an had become intimately familar with this process over the past eight weeks, unable to cull the indignant flare of orange that flickered across his face in response to her less then cordial greeting, Al-an instead decided to cut to the chase.
"I've visited this establishment on eight other occassions, each time I was informed that I should have expected my order within three days, yet each of these visits have yielded little but wasted time."
"Oh, that's unfortunate."
"It is, however I am under the impression that you do not share that sentiment, not in truth."
"Oh?" The employee prompted, her eyes narrowed.
"The human species tend to be rather transparent with their emotions, rendering them easy to read by almost every species except their own." Al-an clarified blithly, as old as he was Al-an still found the human specie's penchant for flippant emotional displays confounding, in her case he was almost impressed the hostile employee could manage to look even more disdainful without blatantly curling her lip, to bare her teeth at him.
Perhaps if he lingered long enough she would..
"I see.Well Mr..?"
"Your species has asigned us the designation Architects.."
"-err right, Fine Architect, we can write you up a refund and maybe throw in a coupon or two as an appology for your troubles." The female assures nonchalantly, her I.D tag identified the black haired female employee as a bird, one that was supposedly long extinct…perhaps her cereberal cortext was similar in size to the turdus migratorius the architect considers indignantly as he eyes her down.
"The negligent errors on this human establishment's behalf will cost far more then the initial credits I've wasted here, your species transient currency is as useless as your false apologies."
"So you don't want the refund, then what do you want? Be quick about it, its almost feeding time and due to precautionary measures all potential customers must leave the premises for that to happen." The employee dismissed nonplussed, it was clear she had little concern for his hardships and was utterly ignorant to the catastrophic repercussions of their flippant failures.
Was the human species little more then an accumulation of such reckless behavior..?
How such an inferior species prevailed against the unforgiving odds of existence was another mystery altogether.
"I am here to retrieve what I purchased, the fauna." Al-an sniffed less then impressed by the rude little human.
"Oh, no can do."
"Why not..?"
"Your 'fauna' are still in transit, our hands are tied until the shipment returns for evaluation, I'd check back in maybe a week to see if it arrived safely, but only during the hours of one pm, cargo bay closee after that."
"…"
"Don't worry your account hasn't been charged for the most recent order, we all done here?" Robin asked briskly as she studied her PDA.
"I am skeptical that you will have little else to offer.." Al-an dismissed blithely flashstepping away from the counter and her narrow eyed leer.
"Not for your kind no.." His superior hearing picks up her quip quite easily, Al-an's head tilted pensively, her contempt was more than apparent and the architect couldn't fathom why, he wasn't quite certain what the almanac had done to gerner such a unsavoury reputation..
He wanted to inquire, to understand but realized there was unfavorably low chance of this human sating his curiosity, at least not willingly.
To attempt further communication would only waste more of his limited time, and was more likely then not to incite more hostility from the employee.
Yet Al-an had only encountered this hostile behaviour within this singular establishment, perhaps they only favoured the humans such prejudices supposedly were common amongst human species, for various but trivial reasons..yet Al-an had never encountered such rejection before.
Had the architect had the proper time to study the irate female more thoroughly the trouble prone architect may have discovered the issue was far from what he had deduced it to be…
Still he needed the fauna, this issue would not rectify itself, perhaps he would simply return when she was not present to thwart his efforts.
Al-an perked up, realizing that this most definitely was the solution to this obscene hurdle, he absconds without acknowledging the quietly seething employee's leer..
He would return, and claim what he came for but only when he was certain she was not there to stop him..
SBZ -an/Robin Petshop! AU Concept
Robin is a petshop employee for a non profit petshop that houses many exotic unpopular breeds/ rehabilitate many 4546B fauna.
Problem is that no one wants the small, harmless non cool pets, the hoverfish with it's broken waterbladder, crash fish that can't explode, cuddlefish with seperation anxiety.
Nope these guys just sit around ignored. But that's okay, because they all have a safe place there.
until someone starts buying these little guys up in mass.
After finding out the species and history of the buyer.
Robin one of the employees, is one ninty-nine percent certain the alien buying their babies is using them for scientific experimentation!
And hates that no one believes her!
Thus she makes a point to attempt to thwart all of the precusors future purchases, all the while attempting to make the petshop the least appealing option to the frequently visiting alien.
This goes on with little wins and losses and eventually reaches a head when the architect unknowingly purchases
Pally her blind pet Trivalve after the poor creature made its way into one of the tanks! Robin takes this fight into her own hands.
Meanwhile Al-an a precursor once in charge of monitoring a planet's purification process, such responsibility was his alone but due to an "accident" with the vaccine deployment the architect accidentally killed off the planet's weaker fauna populations.
Big no no on his part but that's ok because he has a fool proof plan.
It's not like his superiors know what species will be missing just that…alot of them suddenly died.
But not if he fills in those gaps before they catch wind of the imbalance..
And what better place to obtain these replacements then a small stuggling petshop that won't question his intentions for said purchases.
Only issue is the VERY mean and oddly amusing employee, who he's certain attempted to thrawrt his plans on multiple occasions.
And may or may not have stowayed on his ship to his empty planet for some obscene reason.
This would be a comedy, as the cast are utter idiots and Al-an is that person who buys invasive animals from the petshop and ruins the ecosystem by releasing them into the local lake.
And Robin is 100% on 'the i should be fired long ago but the management likes me bitch, and their just as mean' list and VERY nasty about her pets, the type who will silently judge you as you pick the kitten over the adult blind cat.
Endless misunderstandings, accidental kidnapping and a ship load of fauna as pets, romance and fluff and sass. Ryley is there but only to hold the hoverfish in his hand as the zelda theme plays.

It was interesting to find out how mermaids on 4546B celebrated their birthdays. Or, at least, how Sun and Moon did.
Days were much shorter here, due to the planet's size. So, their "calendars" were very different from what you'd imagine.
The end of a week is marked by a full solar eclipse, weeks are much longer than just seven days. Working here full time would be hell, you think, as your PDA beeps in protest.
Months are counted by tides. The second, much larger moon, has a strong gravity pull, so a lot of animals feel the seasons change. Moon says you can feel it even deep underwater. You can't, really, but you take his word for granted, updating your data as he explains.
And finally, years. Just as on Earth, as the planet fully orbits the star, they count it as a year.
And for the first time since your arrival, a year later, they decide to celebrate your "birthday" on this planet. And since you couldn't calculate when exactly your real birthday would be you couldn't say no either, but it spiked the curiosity in you. You decided to count.
Approximately, one year here, is counted as three Earth.
Oh, you've been here for a while huh.
And so, it breeds questions in your head as fast as peepers do in your aquarium.
For how long do mermaids usually live, you decide to ask one day. They seem confused, at first, but their answer makes your jaw clench.
"For as long as you can grow."
It makes you shiver, thinking of the beasts in the Void. Would Sun and Moon grow that large one day?
Right, but how about numbers? Years.
They shrug, and your body tightens further.
Eclipse has been there since they remember, they say. The Sea Emperor outlived two different civilisations, you recall.
They really don't know. The harsh, aggressive environment could kill one in a day but it's...
It's in thousands.
Do they know humans don't live that long?
Do you have a heart to tell them?
...
They seem quite puzzled when you come up to them and ask to celebrate every seven months, instead of a full twenty one. Their eyes squint at you, trying to gain answers but you are unmovable.
You don't want your life to be divided by three.
You want them to remember every "year" celebrated, and have as many of these moments as your human body allows you.
A celebration of sharing your much shorter life with them.
They'll understand one day. And you hope they'll forgive you for not telling them sooner.

Something about Subnautica being a horror game. About 4546B being alien and hostile and wanting to kill you. Thoughtless, ruthless, "this planet is cursed".
And then you meet the Sea Emperor, and this corner of the ecosystem speaks. She is warm, and clear-minded, and understanding. And she says, "Others trapped me here because they were afraid. But if you listen to me, I will help you."
And you've fought tooth and claw to be here, against enormous odds, against the planet itself. And in fighting with it, you've utilized it. Taken its raw materials and formed them into assets to your survival. Stolen nutrients from fish and plant and filtered water straight from the sea. Metal is your instrument, glass your asset.
You've learned the patterns of the predators here. Ghost leviathans are territorial. Stalkers are more interested in scrap metal. Reapers hunt by echo. You know these creatures now, they are your neighbors. You are as alien as they are. If you could eat their meat, you'd give them the same courtesy they give you.
And you are scared, that will never change. But you've learned to listen. Fear does not dominate you. You're a part of this place now. A part of the ecosystem. You can hear it speak.
You gather enzymes and you hatch the young. You give an old being its final wish. You're cured.
You have not escaped unscathed. In listening, in utilizing, you've allowed yourself to become a part of it. Become a part of this beautiful, alien world that has allowed you to take from it as much as it takes from you. Helped it as it has helped you. It cured you. You cured it.
This planet is cursed.
But the Sea Emperor called you "friend".

A DpxDc prompt because I <3 all of you but am too shy to talk in the discord.
The Subnautica au I promised! (I might make two of them)
Okay, so Danny is around 14 or 15 in this. He is still a halfa but the portal has been temporarily closed for plot reasons. So the portal is closed and Danny has no clue what to do now. Due to the portal being closed Danny's grades have improved exponentially enough that he gets an work offer from Altera (ignore the child labor it's the Giw/Altera's shady business practices fault)
Danny is ecstatic because he's finally getting the opportunity to go to space! He knows if he waits the portal will be reopened and he'll never have a chance like this again so he takes it. In less than a month Danny has been trained and is shipped off to the Aurora. He's heading towards planet 4546b with very little information on the planet itself.
The crash happens and Danny doesn't use his powers to save the ship because something around the atmosphere was preventing full accessing his powers in full. Danny scrambles to the life pods and ends up being the only one in life pod five. The whole life pod scene happens with Danny being knocked out by the panel flying off the wall.
He wakes up with the life pod on fire and quickly uses what he can of his ice powers to put it out not realizing there's a fire extinguisher. Danny exits the life pod and realizes that a lot of people he talked to on the ship not even a day ago were probably dead. Judging by his inability to go ghost, he wouldn't be reuniting with them in the ghost zone any time soon.
He is devastated but goes about exploring and trying to find any other survivors. His hope of finding survivors near the crash zone dies when the ship explodes and starts leaking deadly radiation. Danny of course rushes to try and fix this. It's easier for him to get there because he can stay under water for an inhuman amount of time and has a built up immunity to radiation as a halfa.
Now to the DC part of this. Let's stick with only the batfam existing in this universe. The entire batfam are classified as leviathan's. All of them have two forms with one of said forms being semi humanoid mer like appearance. They are still pretty big in this form, think 7-8ft at the smallest (aka Damian) The other form is something I like to call
Big f-ken fish™
Which is full on terrifying reapers (we'll decide what each of the fam specifically look like later) and a lot of them are chilling in the crash zone when Danny is fixing the Aurora's reactor. Danny has not yet been spotted by the reapers.
Now they're already pissed off because a big arse ship just crashed into their planet and destroyed a great deal of it. They don't exactly know what a space ship is but they do know that the technology is advanced and the only thing remotely close on their planet is from the precursors who were a bunch of pricks.
Before the explosion the fam kept an eye on the weird creatures that crawled out of the metal eggs They watch them almost immediately start dying from predators or Kharaa. They were there when the ship exploded and started leaking radiation and killing the local wild life much to Damian's despair.
So the Fam are pretty pissed off at this point and are circling the ship. They immediately noticed when the ship stops leaking radiation and spot Danny swimming away from the reck quicker than any of the other ones that crawled out of the eggs.
Granted most of the other ones from the eggs immediately died and didn't have faces (the wet suits looked weird and Danny refuses to wear them no matter how much easier they would make things >:(
They start watching him because obviously there's something odd about this thing it looks kinda like a much smaller version of their smaller forms. Danny is getting pretty ticked off that his PDA keeps making false alarms of leviathan's. Duke, and tim are the ones monitoring Danny in the safe shallows. Jason and Dick in the crash zone. Barbra and Stephanie in the kelp forest. Cass and Bruce are patrolling the grassy plateaus.Damian is by himself at the quarantine gun/ sunbeam landing sight.
Danny sets up base near the quarantine gun™ because for some reason even though he's not infected he can't turn the damn thing off. So Damian is the only one currently capable of watching him. Damian has a theory that he 100% sure is correct. As a 1600 year old leviathan he's not a baby he's almost an adult and doesn't remember being a baby. This thing crawled out of an egg and is super tiny so it is obviously a baby and a very smart one at that. While it didn't have the claws, gills, tail, or scales they had it was super fast, could freeze things, had super strong hands despite looking dull and frail, it could take useless scraps and rocks and turn them into complex structures. It was obviously a new type of leviathan the ship carrying eggs. Danny was the smallest of the babies but he was also the strongest, and smartest; surviving long enough to have eyes and hair. This baby was young enough that he still needed to surface for air he needed to be protected.
Danny has no clue he's now being stalked by a group of reapers that decided he was their new baby brother/son

Ok so in it reader just wants to go home and sleep because what went down on 4546b had left them all around exhausted not to mention jumpy which results in them not realizing how long it's truly been ending up in front of the emperor's castle which leaves reader confused but also amazed because 1 place is pretty and 2 they don't know if their navigation system is fucked where they ended up somewhere else or it's been so long someone ended up buying the area then made the castle.
"Alright, let me see what my brain can cook with this cross over. Somethings are shifted to make more sense. I also used Subnautica's time era." - Ichor
Summary - "You eventually make it off of planet 4546B with the Primarch: Vulkan in tow. Only to figure out that so much time has passed and evolved without you."

Your brain is absolutely frazzled.
You haven’t expected humanity to have evolved so much from when you were stuck on planet 4546B. The time on the planet was definitely different from the galaxies time, and to see yourself in a practical, different time? It was bamboozling you. Your brain just barely hanging around in your own skull with this highly praised Primarch: Vulkan by your side, leading you to new adventures.
Honestly, you didn't really believe that he was some sort of leader, but you were proven quickly wrong with how his followers, his sons embrace him once the both of you were pinpointed down by their systems. Their own heights towering, just like him. It was... it was rather amazing. It almost reminded you of the Sea Emperor...
Looking over to your ship for a moment, you remanence on it. Thinking of all the hard ships you have gone through just to get... here on what they call terra, and by the gods what it impressive and massive. Though, you preferer the architect from planet 4546B. You have lived on it for so long that you considered it home... You accepted that you would be lonely on that planet and wouldn't meet another person, especially with that Quarantine Enforcement Platform that shot down the Sunbeam with ease.
You accepted that you would die alone on that planet.
"Little one, are you alright?" The deep voice of Vulkan spooks you from your thoughts. Your form jumping in your spot as he placed his hand on your shoulder that nearly engulfs the side of you, but you have grown used to the size difference over time. Your eyes glancing back up to him.
"Fine." You simply say, looking around you once more. His... sons that gathered around, looking down at you in what seems to be curiosity. Did they have the same kindness their... father has? "Everything seems... new? Evolved?"
"New? Evolved?" One of his curious sons questions you, stepping forward a bit. The many eyes of the sons making you shift in your spot, underneath Vulkans' hand. "Just what time era did you come from?"
"...Uh, 22nd century?"
"22nd century?" A mutter goes through the group as some look at each other in confusion. They have never heard of such a time era, and well... you didn't know theirs to give a proper answer. You could only give them of what you remembered with honesty.
"What did your time look like?" They press, still looking curious. Your gaze flickering up the Vulkan in worry and suspicion. Were they going to try and pry what you barely even know anymore? It's been so long...
"Answers will come in time, my sons." He addresses them and dismisses them at the same time. His hand lifting for your shoulder while he looks out to his sons, or what you remember calling them "his Salamander's." "Let it be known this one is under my arms."
"Yes, Lord Vulkan." They all nod in sync, giving one more questioning look your way before departing to do their tasks that had been set for them. Their armors giving soft thuds on the ground on the ground as they walk away.
"22nd century?" Vulkan then starts to question you himself once the stressful situation of having a group well... questioning you all together. His eyes looking back down at you and giving you one of his charming smiles. "There is still more I don't know about you, little one."
You shrug your shoulders in response, unsure how to really answer that. Your eyes' glancing around you once more, taking in the... blue version of the salamanders, and gold? Were they different ones? They did have a different logo on their pauldrons... Was that a good sign or bad?
"Brother, you have returned-" You don't really pay attention to the newcomer. Your eyes roaming the area around you curiously, and maybe a bit of longing. Not for the... evolution of the place, but for remembering how "old" you have become. How the world always went off without you. This... new stuff almost scares you, almost. You have felt the same when you first crash landed upon 4546B and you were forced to adapt despite your cries of desperation. To not feel that abandonment. That loneliness. The Sea Emperor was your only true friend, but even then...
"This little one helped me, brother." You can hear Vulkan address you. Gesturing over to your form that seems in lost in thought again. A pang of worry coursing through him. You seem very different now from when you were on that water planet. Were you... homesick? Even when it wasn't a home, but your survival. Just how long were you on that planet that you started to believe that it was your home? Do you even remember what your... past life was like? Before the crash?
"Is that so?" His brother: Roboute Guilliman questions him with a risen brow. No doubt thinking of how a little baseline was helping him out within this water planet he was telling him of. His blue gauntlets resting on his gorget.
"Yes, brother." He nods with confirmation. Shifting his weight as his tone switches to more protective. "You have no idea what horrors laid on that planet: good and evil, and they have braved it through. From little hypnotizing fish to the biggest leviathan."
"Leviathan? Hypnotizing fish?" Roboute sounds like he was in a bit of disbelief, but he trusts that one of his most resilient brothers was not telling a lie. "If I didn't know you any better, brother. I would have assigned you an Apothecary."
Vulkan simply laughs at his words. His head throwing back, amused with his words but also grateful of them. It was nice to know that his brother trusts him. "No, I am perfectly fine brother. Just telling you have the new planet the little one called: 4546B. They were the only survivor on it."
"Only survivor?" His bother once again questions him again. His eyes sparking with a bit of interest until he shifts to look down at you approaching him and it seems to surprise him. Never was one bold to come close and touch his armor curiously. (You were to most likely to get back handed.) "My, you are a bold one."
"You are smaller than your... brother." You comment, slowly trying to comprehend everything around you. Your words exiting another laugh from Vulkan. "Look quite different too. Were you born from different mothers?"
"Ah, no." The big blue answers you with a bit of casualness. His eyes flickering over to Vulkan in more questioning. Just what kind of baseline did his brother pick up? "More like... we were created."
"Created?" You perk up at his words, more innocently curiously and it sways big blues hearts a bit. Maybe that is why Vulkan took and sheltered this baseline? For their innocence of the world? "So... what exactly are you then? You look human, but it's clear you are more then, well, a human."
"Thats a curiosity that can be answered at a different time, little one." Vulkan buts in, saving his brother from possibly saying something wrong to you. He knows you would distance yourself if one were to say something, a hint of dislike towards you. He figured that out on one of the days he was on that water planet with you. You have taken that "Cyclops" down into the deep without him knowing, and it stressed him out to no end. He had to give you credit for own resilience on being able to go out on your own, and you were lucky that day however, that you didn't return injured.
"Alright, doesn't hurt to ask." You nod, stepping back from the blue Primarch. Your eyes looking him over. "You remind me if the calm of the sea."
Roboute shifts at your innocent comments and... complements. A Primarch known to have some sort of praise from generals and nobles as it was known they could absolutely destroy them, but yours was different. Yours for some reason felt... pure. "I- may I ask what that means, for you?"
"I'm just saying you remind me of the calm, that you are calm, but it doesn't mean that a storm is hidden beneath." You shrug your shoulders as if what you're saying won't affect anything. "Your brother reminds me of a chirping forest. I haven't seen one of those in a long time..."
"Are they a poet?" Guilliman asks his brother his eyes watching you as you seem to look out in the distance again. His mind trying to figure out what you are, who you are. You are certainly an interesting baseline.
Vulkan shrug his own shoulders in response. Smiling at the smooth introduction that happened between the two of you. Glad that his brother was being reasonable. "The unknown is still precenting themselves. Even for them."
"Even for them?" Roboute repeats his words before deciding to test you on something. Shifting his weight as he gives you his attention. Saying something about a difference in the world, and his words seems to change your face while you cringe at them, seemingly not liking them. You honestly looked like you were in a crisis, or when Roboute himself begins his paperwork.
He figures though, that you were certainly not from their time. You were definitely older than them.

THAT'S A GOOD POINT!
It feels like the people who try to portray it as horror focus too much on the leviathans being scary bc they're predators, not the Architect/Precursor story that you discover along the game! All the labs with specimens still in stasis, the underdeveloped Emperor babies that they pulled from their eggs in an attempt to brute force their way into their goals, if anything about subnautica is horror it's that! But they're not an active threat, you just learn about them passively as you progress through their facilities
Someone in a discord server I'm in said “if subnautica is a horror game, cloudy with a chance of meatballs is a horror film” which is a CORRECT TAKE and it took so much willpower not to write an entire essay on how much grossly misconstrued content there is that paints subnautica as a "horror game" when it really isn't they're just looking at it wrong.
The writers didn't give us all those data entries on the ecosystem and the parts these creatures play in it just for you to make a tiktok of an ai slop voiceover about how "terrifying" the reaper leviathan is. It's a fucking fish, not a cheesy horror villain. If you're afraid of the ocean that's fine you can just say that.
#peace and love on planet 4546b#i love my man Al-an but man the Architects are so fucked up LMAO#legit forgot how horrific their story is for a sec in the og post bc im so sick of people ganging up on my dear friend Reaper Leviathan#thank you for coming to my ted talk

DP X DC X Subnautica
Where the Justice League (mostly focusing on the Superfam or Batfam or Flashfam) are large leviathan-esque creatures living on Planet 4546B. Maybe they can change forms due to Precursor experimentation, maybe not. Those with young hang out around the shallows more than the others, what with most of them being large super or specialized predators.
Enter Danny Fenton, interning on the Aurora when the ship is shot down by the Quarantine Enforcement Platform. Oh sure he probably would have tried to stop the destruction and help, but his ghost powers are a bit on the fritz and a well-meaning worker pushes him into one of the last life pods seeing as he's a child.
Now the leviathans may not know what a ship is exactly, but they can definitely understand that in most cases things technology = precursors. As far as they understand, a metal deathtrap not unlike the old labs or caches fell alongside several metallic eggs, with the emerging hatchlings misshapen and not living long.
But then there's the egg that landed in the shallows, which at first they thought was empty. But a hatchling- much smaller than the previous ones- emerges, a day later than the rest, but they're alive even if their swimming is all wobbly! It's so tiny, and obviously hatched too early with the strange split tail and how it keeps swimming to the surface for air, and they have to protect it! Now if only the little hatchling would answer their calls and not dart into hiding spots whenever they approach...
Honestly this is up to the writer lol, but I like to think that Danny's ghost form, when he finally manages to achieve it again, goes a little naga-esque. Almost like a sea snake instead of just a whispy ghost tail, which while better for swimming doesn't help his freak out over most ghost powers still not working.
Danny is just trying to survive man, maybe find other survivors, turn off this big alien gun, stop creating frost crystals when he sneezes, the usual. He doesn't need giant humanoid-esque leviathan-sized sea creatures poking around!
#DcxDP#Prompts#Subnautica#Prompts that came from a dream lol#featuring Danny's ghost form being like a naga lol#danny phantom au#Space core Danny#Khaara is like an ecto-disease like a super deadly ecto-achne that the precursors fucked around and found out with#Why are Danny's ghost powers on the fritz? Idk maybe it's his first ghost puberty or maybe it's something the Precursors did#Batfam#Supergam#Flashfam#Hell maybe all three families are there in the crater trying to pspspsps the new son/brother#Batfam are deep-water leviathans with reflective undersides & patterns who start brightly colored and get darker with age#Superfam deserve long flowing fins that mimic the red capes & also glowy bits#Flashfam are long and eel-like for speed with electrical abilities for fun#Wonderwoman is probably plated around the limbs & bits of gold-vein patterns (babies hatched in nests of clay perhaps)#Aquaman is even more fish-esque#Cyborg is a young-adult leviathan that was experimented on by the Precursors and is similar to the Warpers#Green Lanterns have transparent green fins that mimic their constructs & green bioluminescence#Danny: I am not a *baby*#Justice Leviathans: Oh my stars it's a *baby*#Billy: Just accept it there's no escape#No shipping between Danny plz to them he is literally a baby

Post- Below Zero outfit concept
I wanted to make an outfit more befitting a maze-like homeworld. The PDA draws from locally available materials after all. I think this Robin is a bit more serious than what we see in SBZ.
Design Notes:
This outfit is designed with terrestrial travel in mind. While I do think a two-piece would be more practical, every subnautica protagonist and several NPCs wear a body suit. Being on an alien planet I feel she still prefers the practical safety a reinforced suit like this provides. Push comes to shove she can wear a tank and tie the upper portion around her waste.
Went with purple and green for two reasons: We see past Robin wearing purple, and they are Al-An’s colors (to imply his role in designing it).
Most promo art depicts Robin with her blue and red wetsuit which looks quite heroic and serves to illustrate her strong will. I think it’s fun to think of those colors as likewise symbolizing her conflicted relationship with her sister. Sam wears exclusively blue from what we see, Robin always strives to be her opposite. Red is the color of passion and aggression, a pretty fitting for the ideal Robin holds for herself as Sam’s opposite. Red is also the most notably characteristic of bird robins, which I think is just kind of cute.
In my headcanon purple symbolizes Robin when she’s at peace with herself. It’s a mix of red and blue, symbolizing that shes not as estranged from Sam as she sometimes believes. We see her wearing purple at her most comfortable in the picture with Augstrobite. A muted purple is also useful in showing a Robin that’s more reserved following the trauma of 4546B.
The diagonal lines also serve to reference her alliance with Al-an. Her most notable wetsuit is constructed with bold horizontal and vertical lines, very squarish. Diagonals better suit to illustrate a character that is “off-balance” so to speak. Being on an alien planet thousands of light years away from humans after losing possibly your only family member is probably enough to shake most people’s sense of balance.
I also think that because Robin kept her hair long during the events of 4546B that she probably just likes it long. Imagine how impractical it would be maintaining long hair on an oceanic planet for months on end. Not to mention, at least type 3 hair (Sam seems to have type 4, but it’s not exactly clear what type of hair Robin has. In game she either has braids or locs it’s hard to tell. Either way, not a low maintenance style.) I just think it’s a pretty good symbol of her character, I also think she would let it continue to grow during her time on 4546B and beyond. At some point it’d start getting in the way even in a ponytail. That’s why I think she would start putting it in a bun. A changing hairstyle as a symbol of a maturing character my beloved.
(It also gives me an excuse to draw her hair down in the future >:3c)
