_____________________________________________
Hello and welcome!
This is my first ever Tumblr post, and I'm kinda nervous, tbh ^^'
As a child of Hecate myself, I wanted to try and redesign our cabin. I took inspiration from what's canon in the books, the original cabin design, and classical Greek temple architecture. Of course, I also incorporated my own thoughts and visions, like the violet flame torches and the overall color palette.
I wanted the cabin to be more visually connected to the underworld, night, and darkness. My headcanon is that the violet flames are unique to the Hecate cabin and their residents, as it is magic fire that only burns monsters. The door only opens for Hecate children, legacies, and their guests. I also included magical runes engraved into the stone bricks with sigils I found online!
Hope you like it! See ya!

Moonrise
Fandom: Trials of Apollo Rating: Gen Genre: Angst Characters: Hecate, Artemis, Apollo Hecate was not the moon, but she was not not the moon. @toapril-official TOApril day 14 - Pact From Our Youth. This was supposed to focus on Hecate&Apollo but then I did some cursory research into their mythological relationship and found myself more intrigued by Hecate&Artemis instead, whoops...
Hecate had many domains, domains that kept flickering and changing as the mortals changed their mind on what, exactly, she represented to them. From the tumultuous heavens and oceans to the humble doorways, her essence had spent most of its existence shifting from one state to another, with the only constant the liminality between it all.
Liminality was hers, when nothing else was, the gap between reality and something else, neither more nor less but different, and there were many, many places that liminality could be found.
The moon was not hers. It was Selene’s, Artemis’, Diana’s. But the moon was also not not hers, presiding over the night and casting shadows into the darkness, more liminalities in the gap between reality and something else. Had Kronos’ coup been successful, Hecate would’ve taken the moon for her own, not out of a desire to steal it from the others but because the moon was important, and out of those on Kronos’ side, there was none other that she would entrust it to.
She and Artemis did not spend much time together. The mortals had equated them, one against the other, with similar iconography and similar worship, but that had only driven them further apart, a need to make sure they stayed separate and weren’t conjoined for good by the influence of mortal whims. For a time they had both been the maiden goddesses that roamed the wilderness, packs of hunting dogs at their beck and call. Neither had been keen to encourage the near-identical perceptions. No doubt, it was one of the reasons Artemis and Apollo strove to look so different, to make their marks as their own deities despite their intertwined bond as twins.
For all that their mothers were sisters, there had never been much connection between her and the twins, despite the best efforts of the mortals to merge her in with Artemis and call Apollo by her name.
In one thing, however, she and Artemis were in agreement.
The moon was special. Unlike the sun, which kept to its same route through the sky, same appearance and intensity, the moon changed. It waxed and waned, coaxing the tides along in its dance, and occasionally interrupted the sun’s monotonous journey to play. A cycle, twenty-eight nights long before it started again, which had started long before either Hecate or Artemis had been conceived, and one which could not be allowed to stop.
Hecate was not the moon, but she was not not the moon, either, and Artemis did not give her the reins to the chariot, but they had an understanding.
The moon must always rise, must always dance across the sky, even when it was new and invisible to the earth below. No matter what happened to the rest of the world, to the rest of the cosmos, the moon had to continue. There was no other option.
It was seamless, natural, easy to slip in when Artemis and Diana tore in two, so destabilised by the state of their twin that they could do nothing, could hardly concentrate to speak to their followers, let alone uphold their domains.
Hecate did not know what would happen to Artemis and Diana if Apollo died. She was no more attached to Apollo than she was any of the other gods, so bright and loud and dazzling and none of Hecate’s darkness and liminality. If he died, the sun would keep on rising, the same way it had when Helios had faded and Apollo had been selected by the mortals to take his place. She wasn’t attached to Artemis and Diana, either; if anything, she was more distant from the other goddess out of necessity and too many overlaps in the eyes of the mortals to be confident in her individuality if they stayed together for too long.
What she was attached to was the moon.
Her version of the chariot was not pulled by fine, silver deer. Those, she left firmly behind in the stables as the moon rose in the sky; they were Artemis’, Diana’s, and Hecate was neither. Instead, she had dogs, a pack of black dogs as inky as the backdrop of Ouranos’ court above and around them, who bayed soundlessly as they ran through the night.
Below her was Artemis and Diana, paralysed by her twin’s fate. Below her was Apollo himself, not quite Apollo but rather a mortal who was just a little bit more, bordering on liminal in a way that was foreign for the bright god. A god, but not a god. Alive, but with death running through his veins.
Her disciple, Hazel, was there too, dead yet not, with an understanding of liminality most mortals would never be able to achieve, and Hecate thought that perhaps she should give the girl another visit, to see how well her manipulation of the Mist had grown.
Not then, though. Not when grief stained the girl’s soul, fresh and loud. Neither she nor Hecate would benefit from a visit while the death of her friend was so raw.
Besides, Hecate had a job to do, at least for a while. The twins were torn apart and unable to play their parts in the cosmos, and the moon did not, should not, could not stop.

Guess who mess up things with a spell and turned himself into a ferret? Yes, it was alabaster
The other day i posted a drawing based on @yonemurishiroku idea of a WolfboyJason au, and later talking with @drksanctuary a silly Nicobaster idea was born
In which alabaster accidentally turned himself into a ferret, and since that all of Al's notes are written down in a absurd mix of accient Greek, modern Greek and Latin, makes impossible for claymore to understand anything of what is written there, So he sees himself forced to call Nico, the only other demigod that they know because years before he Maybe tried to take claymore back to the underworld ( but that's a history for other day)
That for the horror of a alabaster with a immense crush on the son of hades, because in the form of a animal any kind of discretion or shame was thrown out of the window and he end up being the clingiest thing in this world when he had been trying to avoid nico for the past few months just for this to happen
Needless to say, al was a bit too dramatic about it after almost sell his soul to swear that he being clingy didn't mean anything ↓
Al: why of all people you had to call HIM?!
Claymore: i told you to be careful with whatever thing you were doing because i don't know actual greek, even less greek that was used milenia ago, and that's the language you have everything that could bring you back to normal kid, what i was supposed to do?
Al: right but..I
Claymore: you wanted, perhaps, for me to call the abundance of other demigod friends you have?
Al: I dunno! My mom?
Claymore: *shakes his head*
*Hecate appears from the absolute nothing*: Howard did tried to contact me, i just didn't answer, i knew that Nico di Angelo was the plan B, and the little prince is such a educated and polite gentleman, is the dream for any mother to have as son in law! and you just keep wasting any opportunity you have with him
Al: Mother...
Hecate: you're in love! I'm just trying to help
Al: you're just embarrassing me! there's no fucking way that he would like me back, the last thing that i need is that he discovers this
(Poor little did he knew that nico also likes him)

My understanding of titan army demigod motivations
Luke: The gods are bastards. My father is a deadbeat. They killed my girl and I am tired of being a worthless puppet. I want Olympus to burn.
Chris: My dad doesn't give a crap about me. He couldn't bother claiming me.
Alabaster: I was fighting a righteous cause. I was following my mommy who is an absolute queen who deserves better.
Ethan: The minor gods deserve better. I am willing to lose an eye to my own mom to ensure she gets a throne as she deserves.
Silena: Luke is hot.

Cabin 20, Hecate.
It looks normal but is built from blocks of stone with magic inscriptions written on them. If the blocks are dropped, they could explode or turn anyone within half a mile radius into trees. The cabin is four modules back-to-back with two on each side and has four entrances. The cabin also has a slanted roof and high ceilings. The cabin can be rearranged and moved as desired; this module can be as big or small as it needs to be. More campers can fit into the same amount of space as a regular cabin with more privacy and better accommodations. The interior has four main sitting rooms with two built-in cushioned benches that double as beds, in each, and storage space underneath for their clothes, armor, and weapons. There is also built-in, programmable furniture that can be collapsed, moved, and reshaped; with the snap of their fingers, the living area can be turned into a bedroom, gym, dining room, or military command center.

What's your opinion on Hecate and Nemesis?
Hecate
One of the few gods I don't despise! She and Hestia are genuinly the only good ones I know of that I have nothing against. The way she cares about her children is genuinly heartwarming, and by what I have seen of her she's genuinly one of the (if not the) best Olympian parent. We stan Hecate in this house. Praying WottG won't fuck her up.
Nemesis
She's in the same pot of horrid neglectful parent as the Olympians for me ngl. Only slightly elevated because she did rebel against the system to some degree- even if it was more out fo selfish reasons from what I've read. But she definitely didn't deserve all the disrespect she got before. Taking your kid's eye tho? NOT COOL. Hecate would NEVER. Overall I still saw too little of her though to form a solid opinion.

It has come to my attention that none of the forbidden kids should be forbidden. The Great Prophecy speaks of a half-blood (demigod) of the eldest gods.
None of the Big Three are the eldest gods. Yes, they are the oldest Olympians but oldest Olympians does not equal oldest gods.
Assuming having demigod children is a requirement for this prophecy, we already have one option for a godly parent who should’ve been forbidden to have mortal offspring, Hecate.
Hecate is the goddess of witchcraft, and the Mist in the Riordanverse. We know she has mortal children thanks to her cabin and the short story, Son of Magic. Not only that but we were introduced to her cabin’s head councillor, Lou Ellen who we meet in Lost Hero, I assume.
I’m inclined to say at least two of the Big Three still count unless there are two other gods older than the Big Three that have half-bloods I do not know about in the Riordanverse.
If you know any, please leave them in the comments. We will build this AU together.

not sure if anyone's asked you this before/yet, but so you have any opinions or thoughts of the relationship between all of the pantheons? general relationship and possibly some more personal ones?
I've read many different headcanons and fanfiction where people have mentioned their thoughts on it, but nothing they've ever gone into detail about.
there's nothing really preventing them from interacting *👀 I keep remembering the smallest tiniest hint of freypollo we got* but that doesn't mean they go out of their way doing it, yk?
OKAY SO-
The pantheons I'll be mainly focusing on are the Greek, Roman, Norse, & Egyptian ones. I'll probably make little nods to other ones too tho :3
Don't be surprised if this mainly centers on Apollo XD He's my guy <3
GREEK & ROMAN
Let's kick it off with these two!
"But aren't they the same-?"
Nope! The Roman pantheon started off as their own sets of gods - the thing is, they had very little myths written down so we don't know much about how they were characterized :(
Howmever. We do know that when they were synchronized with Greece's gods, you can see the little differences between them - for instance, the Roman gods were more Forces Of Nature than gods who went out and Did Stuff, like Greece's.
Jupiter for example! He didn't have the "fucks around" rep Zeus does! Jupiter from the Roman's perspective didn't go out and do much. He rooted on Aeneus, yes, but the myths of his children weren't quite as popular in Rome as they were in Greece (probably because they were. ya know. Greek heroes, and not Roman)
And Apollo. Oh, Apollo...the only major god who didn't have a Latin equivalent.
Rome loved you so much they adopted you and went "no. no. he was always here. no we aren't lying. see? he's in the Dii Consentes!" XD
Fun Fact: Apollo is basically multiple gods in a trench coat. Paion (Mycenean), Smitheus (Mycenean), Aplu (Etruscan), Apaulinus (Hittie), Grannus (Celtic), ect were all Apollo-equivalents who historians have concluded to be past incarnations of Apollo!
which is INTERESTING because...do those gods still exist in the RRverse? Are they connected to Apollo in some way? Are they little voices in his head? DO THEY HAVE DRINKS TOGETHER?
I have questions and I need answers.
Greek & Egyptian
Saving the Norse for last because we all wanna save Freypollo for last <3 the best for last lmao
RIGHT OFF THE BAT I'M GONNA SAY THAT ZEUS DOESN'T LIKE THE OTHER PANTHEONS! I BET HE DOESN'T!
Which sucks for him because Apollo has friends in Egypt XD
I do think Apollo and Horus would be friends! Not only are they both associated with the sun in some way, but they were actually identified with each other when Greece met Egypt!
Greece: Oh so you have a super-powerful son of the king of the gods associated with light? So do we! :D
Egypt: Oh my gosh we do! :D
You know the myth of Typhon? Apollo transformed into a hawk to escape, and you know who has a hawk head?
Horus. :D
also Horus took over the thrown from Osiris - sure, not in an overthrow way but still. he overthrew Set and claimed the throne
sounds like something we all want hmm...
Also, I headcanon that Helios and Ra go WAAAAYYYY back and Apollo only met Ra like. once. before Isis did her blackmailing and Ra disappeared.
SO WHEN RA CAME BACK, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN DURING HOO BTW, APOLLO HAS NO IDEA! HE'S ON DELOS AT THAT POINT! THEN HIS TRIALS!
So when he rolls up to the next sun god meeting he sees Ra and is like "wait what who are you- OH WAIT!"
And Ra's like; "WHO LET THIS CHILD BE PUT IN CHARGE OF THE SUN???"
Apollo: I'm over 4,000 years old-
Ra, pointing: BABY
(Headcanon that Ra & Amaterasu are like. the defacto sun god 'leaders' who keep the meetings rolling. Amaterasu was very tired when Ra disappeared and she had to wrangle these fiery gods together XD)
(Also Helios thought Horus was a lil' upstart XD)
Finally, I also saw someone else mention that Apollo could have learned some Egyptian magic and used it to create the border of CHB!
Headcanon Hecate snuck along with him and it's their little secret :3
Greek & Norse
HERE. WE. ARE.
LEMME GET MY MAP OUT
SO.
Green highlight is where Greece is. Blue is where Hyperborea is (see this post for details)
In that post, I came to the conclusion that Apollo Totally Definitely Has Met Norse Gods BECAUSE OF HIS WINTER VACATIONS!
AND IF YOU LOOK ACROSS THE BALTIC SEA-
STOCKHOLM.
AND WHERE DID APOLLO MEET THAT HOT GOD WITH A TALKING SWORD???
A TAVERN. IN. STOCKHOLM!
FREYPOLLO LIVES (<-knows very well it's basically already canon XD)
Fun fact: the people of Hyperborea were most likely the mythological avatars of the Norse people! :D
SO I CONCLUDE-
Apollo takes a trip across the Baltic Sea and flirts in the Stockholm tavern and that's how Freypollo happens <3
Other Pantheon Thoughts
Hindu: This thought came while I was creating my @underrated-lovers-of-apollo-poll - Apollo & Indra!
They shared an elephant ride that one time! Wouldn't it be fun if they also kissed? :3
also Indra is a storm god with thunder and lightning think of the angst-
Shinto: Amaterasu taught Apollo Japanese when he discovered the haiku for the first time - sadly, only Athena ever bothered to learn it to experience the haiku in its fullest. pushing my sibling agenda again haha
Because haikus always sound better in their native language <3
Hittie: This connects to the 'Apollo trenchcoat' thing earlier - if Apollo is like. the current form of Apaulinus, would the Hittie pantheon like. drop in from time to time like 'heyyyy we miss you <3'
Apollo: *trojan war flashbacks*
Apaulinus was heavily associated with Wilusa, whom historians have confirmed was Troy, and Apollo's first temple doesn't show up under AFTER the bronze age collapse and the war happened BEFORE that happened meaning HE WAS APAULINUS WHEN THE WAR HAPPENED MY HEART-
i need to look into more pantheons. it's so much fun making these connections and coming up with headcanons for the RRverse :3
