Trials of Apollo AU idea

What if, instead of Meg, he happened to come across Alabaster Torrington, who is hunting down Lamia to get her to lift her curse on the demigods but instead stumbles upon Apollo and intervenes, thinking he's just a regukar kid in trouble?

Al either impulsively/accidentally makes Apollo his servant, since he has more important things to do than getting involved in godly bs or he does so with the intent on taking revenge on Apollo, but doesn't follow through with it as it wouldn't feel right (from what I read in the Demigod Diaries, I feel like Al would love to get rid of the gods, but would have hesitations about defenseless 16-year-olds).

Then Apollo doesn't stop talking about Percy and Al's soooo pissed.

And then they're both at Sally's apartment and Al is soooo uncomfortable...like he's a demigod and Percy asks if they met before and Al's like "Nah, but I'm sure you're the bomb." (Sarcastic reference to the Princess Andromeda incident)

And them making their way to camp with Percy as their chauffeur...

Not to forget Claymore's randomly popping up from nowhere and does what he does...

What the hell happens to Claymore once Alabaster dies? The easy answer is, obviously, that his soul is let into the Underworld as well, since his existence as a mist form is dependent on his sole purpose, to be a mentor to Alabaster. So if Al dies, Claymore is gone too. But I keep thinking about the possibility of Claymore being left alone, ghostly and utterly purposeless once his second chance to live is wasted. Claymore haunting, living off Hecate’s gift that is no longer of any use to him because the child he was supposed to protect is gone. A dead parent mourning a dead child, but never able to see them again.

And then there’s this sick trifecta of Hecate being immortal, Alabaster being dead, and Claymore being somewhere in between, but never able to connect with anyone anymore. Claymore remains an empty shell; no body, no purpose, no soul. Just a wandering and mourning conscience that desperately wants to nurture someone long gone.

I always need more content of the Mortal parents of pjo, like, this people seriously have to raise childrens that depite their looks, we need to remember aren't human and a lot of them don't even know why their childrens are so "weird" and even if we know some gods that probably were there at least the first years, almost all of them are single parents trying to figure out how to raise this kid that they don't have a fuckin clue of where is their other mother/father.

And Then they need to discover that their kid is half god and probably had the mayor mental breakdown because it doesn't matter if they are atheist or believe in other religions, that goes against to almost anything that they believed

And that's just the surface, theres a lot of other things

I mean, we only ge a close up to Demigods born from concensual relationships in the saga, but looking back at some gods historial, i won't discard the possibility of some of them beig results of 🍇 and how the fuck some mortal parents would have to deal with have a child result of that kind of situation

And We have pretty interesting characters here and we barely know something about them, and all this potential is just wasted-?

I mean, just look at Marie Levesque and Beryl Grace, despite that they aren't the Best people on earth for what we know of them, you can't look me death in the eyes and tell me that they don't have potential for building them a past or Characters study

Or what about the parents of the kids that died?? The mortal parents of Lee Fletcher, Michael yew, Castor and all the diceaced characters must be around somewhere, dueling the lost of their child at the hands of a word that of their kids belonged but they didn't

And ofc whe have the ones of alive campers, i mean, just a few of the campers are year rounders, a lot of them come back with their mortal parents at the end of the summer, most of the campers actually live with their mortal parents and each one must had very different dynamics with their parent

And the parents of year rounders aren't least interesting, like, how they feel about having their kid away of them?? Some of them maybe are one of the reasons why their kid's don't come back at their houses after the summer

And also an Honorable mention to the Man that after dieing and being brought back to life as a mist form is the father of a traumatized 16yo war betteran condemned to ostracism: the Dr, Howard claymore, which remids the fact that there must be at least some other demigod has been adopted by a mortal who probably was even more clueless that the kid bio parent

As a summary: The mortal parents are a really interesting part of the world building of pjo and never get enough recognition

AU in which Alabaster C. Torrington meets Nico di Angelo at May Castellan's house as both decide to check on her after Luke dies.

And it's a peculiar sight. May Castellan is still far from sane. Claymore is, well, dead, and alive all at once. Nico and Alabaster are technically enemies still, and yet, at least they are lonely together in a world where no one wants them.

And somehow, the neighbors would see them and think, "Oh, so the crazy lady next door does have a family". And May Castellan would smile, listening to the two children bickering in her living room as she makes the sandwiches.

I'm having Sun of Magic thoughts again, what a shocker

Lester closed his eyes, feeling the weight of his sister's chariot as he tried to focus on Meg's loud, obnoxious snoring. She was snuggled inside her sleeping bag in their makeshift campsite, clinging to his arm like a teddy bear, which she'd no doubt deny if told.

He huffed a weak laugh at the snot smeared under her nose, having almost drowned out the cries coming from his other side.

Almost.

His other demigod companion was trembling under his blanket, sobbing in a way that repeatedly punched Lester in the gut. He sighed, wiggling his arm out of Meg's grasp and scooted over to where Alabaster Torrington was curled up.

"Please— Not them, please—" The boy gasped in his sleep, tears streaming down his cheeks, "Spare them—"

Lester winced. He had gotten used to Alabaster's frequent nightmares, sure, but he doubted he'd get used to the uncomfortable feeling that washed over him every time he witnessed one of them.

Was it his siblings this time again, his army, or both? Clearly it was about Manhattan, if the pleading was any indication.

"Alabaster..." He gently placed his hand on his shoulder.

Alabaster's eyes shot wide open, the green flashing and breaking through the darkness of night.

"Are you alright?" Lester whispered, careful to not wake Meg.

"Why are you awake?" Alabaster hissed instead of an answer, very on brand for him.

"Someone has to keep watch. Nightmares?"

"Shut up." Alabaster rolled under his blanket, crossing his arms. Though Lester internally cheered at how that hadn't been an order, "I'll take the watch."

Not in a talking mood then, as per usual. Lester couldn't help but wonder if he starred in the nightmare once again. "...Maybe you should talk with Dr. Claymore."

"Go to sleep, Phoebus." Alabaster sneered, standing up with his fists balled and eyes shut tight as if he was trying to stop tears from falling.

Lester opened his mouth— Only to yawn as the order washed over him, heaviness setting on his eyelids. His eyelashes fluttered shut as he crashed on Alabaster's blanket, the last thing he saw being Alabaster staring into horizon and the ghostly outline of a man appearing next to him.

alabaster can hide food with his magic and carry it around in his cards. it's way better than any fridge, because food is always hot and fresh like it was just cooked. he always has some on him so he doesn't have to worry about getting starved, like he how did before he joined TA.

will was sick and malnourished when he got kicked out of CHB. he was the only medic with good enough training and who could heal at camp since manhattan happened, so he was always overworking himself. his younger siblings weren't great at healing and apollo wasn't responding to them, so he was the only healer that about twenty kids a day would visit. chiron wasn't always here to help either.

so when al found will he was more than happy to share his food. after traveling and staying together at keeseville for months will recovered back to perfect health and was happier than ever, not having to use his powers every minute a day to save another kid who got their head open falling off the lava wall.

bonus: will knows how to cook thanks to lee (who grew up looking after his little cousins and his sick grandma), so alabaster saves up fresh fruit, vegetables and sometimes meat so will can get something ready for them. it's like a coping mechanism to him, something to get his hands busy with when he gets that itch, when his hands get a little too hot.

(al tried to help him cook, but he almost burnt down the kitchen while kneading the dough. even claymore was disappointed.)

My current favorite Alabaster & Claymore headcanon is that Claymore really is Alabaster’s actual bio father and then Al/Hecate/etc erased his memory with the mist during the War to protect him etc etc (like Hermione’s parents or Donna Noble).

I am an absolute sucker for found family but I am also a sucker for reconnecting with mortality/normal life/family as a juxtaposition for the trauma of the other side of your life and just imagining Alabaster trying to connect with his lost father through books and by stalking his lectures… it’s a good pain

2. The polecat is actually Alabaster and the mastiff is claymore. They were accidentally turned into animals by some curse and they need Percy to do something with the ocean or water or whatever to set them free?

3. Alternatively, Al is the one who puts out that liquid for Grover so that Annabeth and Percy can fail

4. Alternatively again. The whole task is actually Alabaster living through his villain era and everything, even Hecate having them over in the first place, is an illusion made to fuck with Percy by design.

7. Joke about how Percy wants to just be in college and be an adult already bc he feels like he’s been 17 forever
